Girlie I do believe I followed you for mha reasons a bit ago but you have successfully blorbo-by-proxied me into caring about Reiner and Bertholdt. Especially Bertholdt. I have not, nor do I plan on watching AoT really, but I've osmosed enough plot through Tumblr to be like, really sad about Bert now that I care he. Man. 😔

But to the main point OH MY GOSH REALLY 🥹🥹 I'll have to say I'm outright flattered :D does that make me a rei-bert enthusiast now. Like bertol is so damn underrated within the fanbase itself for the literal face of the series I just think there's something very very beautiful and melancholic!!! about a so called god of destruction actually being such a gentle soul once you understand the layers of everything and how he forced into those circumstances (a different flavour to what especially appeals with Reiner too to me) (then come the obnoxious name misspelling jokes except for me because I use them as endearingly affectionate petnames ❤️). Ngl I outright hate that I dig into the last arc he's in quite often for an oc fic material because wth am I doing if I'm just gonna be struck distracted with that painful cruelty. ;A;

(For example did you know the anime rudely cut(or didn't show a close-up properly ig :P) that Reiner was crying after their group was forced to leave berto behind? ಥ⁠‿⁠ಥ)

FISH EMERGENCY

A few months ago I mentioned that my two tail betta fish, Loulou, had the fringe of his tail turning oddly opaque and white. I posted here to ask opinions, and ended up checking everything from new growth, to ich, to velvet, to fin rot, to regular wear and tear.

This was Lou when I got him, compared to about a six months later btw:

Out of my own depth, I went to an aquarist in town and showed them pictures, describing my concerns. They told me that it was most likely damage from something abrasive in his tank

Pics I showed them:

The thing is though, I don't HAVE anything abrasive in his tank??? He has a ceramic skull hide, which is a little bumpy but otherwise fine, and a smooth flat rock, and his substrate. All his plants are real and his water pump is protected by a sponge.

I left him in the care of a sitter about three weeks ago, and when I came back, his fins were noticeably shorter and far more haggard. I gave his tank a super thorough clean in case it was fin rot and told myself I'd go back to the aquarist later this week, when I'm not at work.

Then today I came home to THIS:

Photos are bad cause it's nighttime and he didn't wanna hold still for pictures despite treats but his fins have MULTIPLE broken spines and his upper tail is BLEEDING?

I noticed a bit of red on him the other day and mistakenly believed he was changing colours again, but it's DEFINITELY blood.

He has no other tank mates except for a few snails I put in there to handle the plants.

I thought maybe he was chewing himself or something but he cant reach the spots that are missing.

I'm sorry to post this here, but has anyone with fish seen this before??? I've had him for almost a whole year now and have not had this happen before

Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated, I'm taking everything solid out of his tank until I know what's happening.

Today is the crocodile icefish! (also called the white-blooded fish because apparently they don’t have hemoglobin in their blood) Awhile ago I did the other half of this anonymous user’s request, so today I finally finish their ask!

They are very bony, low chunk. The crocodile icefish is super funky though, getting style points from its cool frill and see-through bits. Also, it doesn’t have red blood cells, which is very weird and I’m kind of jealous. Extreme funk. I couldn’t find much in my brief research about their slime or mucous secretion, so I am left to assume that if they have any, it’s probably not that remarkable. Low gunk.

Overall: 8/10

It reminds me of something I would see in the game Subnautica! Also they’re really cute. Look at its little face.
