Two Halves - Chapter Seven (Zuko x Reader)
Part Six
Word Count: 3,000 (really? it seemed longer...)
Author’s Note: I decided to make this one cute because it’s been a hella weird week (year) and I needed some sweet Zuko lovin’ in my life. The only downside is that now I’m piney as fuck, but it’s fine because I’ve got spaghetti from my favorite Italian place in the fridge and comfort food fixes everything. I’d also like to use this time to admit that I’ve always thought King Kuei was cute, because clearly I have a thing for adorable dumbasses who live their lives in denial (shout out to Mark, my ex, fuck you and I hope you miss me every fucking day because we both know you loved me as much as I loved you but were too weak to just own up to your feelings because you’re a punkass little bitch boy ♥). King Kuei and reader are BFFs and that’s canon.
I hope you’re all holding out okay and staying safe - PSA to wear a mask whenever you go out, make sure it covers both your mouth and nose at all times, wash your hands after being out in public, and stay the hell away from people outside your household. Do something nice for yourself today, you deserve it. I wish you all find a love someday who makes you feel as fluttery inside as these fics make me feel, and that they love you endlessly and fearlessly. I need to stop writing now, I’ve put myself in my feels.

Much to the dismay of the international affairs advisors, their opportunities for stalking you about your daily life are drastically cut short when Iroh announces he wants to return to Ba Sing Se.
“I've been away from the Jasmine Dragon for too long,” he explains, breaking the news over dinner. “I miss her dearly and would like to be with her again.”
“I should go back to the Earth Kingdom, too,” Toph speaks up. “The metal bending program will probably have to be rebuilt - the idiots I left in charge of it can barely bend rocks.”
You and Zuko exchange amused looks, though the idea of being left totally alone with him - without the comfort of your mutual friends - makes you lightheaded. Having to go toe to toe with Advisor Qiang and his sketchy, passive aggressive behavior while also navigating a potentially deadly political climate? No sweat. Having to face your husband every day without the distraction of your friends and family to break the awkward tension? Horrifying, but in an exciting, slightly panicky way.
“It would be a good idea to visit,” Zuko muses, “see how the city is rebuilding. Aang’s coming back in a week or two on his way to the Northern Air Temple, and I bet he’d give us a lift.”
“Do the international affairs advisors have to come, too?” you ask. “I'm tired of their assistants taking notes on how I prefer to pour my own tea in the morning.”
Zuko smirks, shaking his head.
“I'm sending them to the Southern Tribe,” he tells you. “Hakoda’s hosting a summit for them to celebrate our union.”
“You're finally getting your life changing field trip with Hothead!” Toph cheers, playfully jabbing her elbow into your arm. “Now we can start a club - Sokka really wants to get jackets.”
Tumblr media
As Appa glides through the air, you lean over the edge of his saddle, gazing out at the clouds as they pass. It’s your first time flying, and everything about it amazes and terrifies you - the miniscule landscape below, the shift of Appa’s massive body under his movement and breathing, the cold breeze kissing your cheeks and running its fingers through your hair, the way the sky is so much more vast than you ever could have imagined - it’s like you’ve fallen into a different world entirely.
You reach down and stroke at Appa’s fur, earning an appreciative grunt from the bison. Aang turns back from his place at the reins to grin at you, much more excited about your first time in the air than you are.
“What do you think?” he wonders cheerfully.
“It's like sailing, but in a dream,” you reply. “The clouds remind me of glaciers back home.”
“Makes you wish you were an air bender, doesn't it?” Aang chuckles.
You laugh nervously, shaking your head.
“No! I can't stop thinking about how long the fall is from up here!”
Aang tosses his head back with laughter, the sound of his voice carried on the wind filling you with the feeling of walking through the threshold of the cottage you shared with Sokka and Katara as a child; neither of them are present, but having Aang nearby feels just as much like home.
Across the saddle, Zuko smiles at you. You’re a few feet away from him, yet you still feel the warmth from his body as his eyes meet yours; his gaze is different somehow, as if he's seeing you for the first time. You blush, bashfully returning his grin.
“Are you okay?” Toph asks beside you. She's clutching your hand, neither of you very fond of your height off the ground. “Your heart rate jumped.”
“I'm fine,” you tell her. “I just looked down.”
Tumblr media
Ba Sing Se is larger than you ever thought a city could be. As you approach, you stare in awe at the epic sprawl of the place, each district looking like its own little country within a quilt of a continent. You've been to the North Pole before, having spent a year there after the war, but even the shock of seeing their massive skyline pales in comparison to just how huge the Earth Kingdom is. Zuko smirks at you, his arm wrapping around your shoulders.
“Wait until you see it from the ground,” he teases.
You’re even more amazed by the city as you view it from the palace. It sprawls in every direction, some of its buildings reaching as high as Appa can float; Iroh explains that it's a new concept designed by the most renowned Earth Kingdom architects, some of them planning towers that stretch one hundred stories. Everything about the place seems impossible.
Inside the palace, King Kuei meets you in the entry hall, greeting Aang with a warm hug and Zuko with a firm handshake.
“It's so good to see you all!” he exclaims. “It's been far too long. Tonight we’re having a party to celebrate your arrival, and to congratulate the newlyweds!”
You smile, bowing low at the waist as you thank him.
“My husband has told me of your hospitality,” you say. “It’s an honor to be celebrated by you.”
When you straighten up, Kuei takes your hand and politely places his lips to the back of your palm, closing his other hand atop it.
“And I've been told about your exquisite nerve,” he replies, lowering his voice as if sharing a secret. “Your bravery deserves to be celebrated.”
After a tour of the palace, you and Zuko are led to your suite. The windows in both the sitting room and bedroom look out over an incredible view of the city, in which you can almost see as far as the eastern wall; you can hardly pull yourself away, leaving Zuko the task of inspecting the rooms to ensure everything is in order.
“We have a problem,” he says, stepping out to where you perch by the sitting room window. “There's only one bed.”
You snap your head to attention, fixing him with a quizzical expression.
“... I mean, I guess that's normal,” you reply, piecing the situation together in your head. “We are married.”
“Do you want me to request another room for myself?” Zuko asks. “I could get one of the bedrolls from Appa’s pack and sleep on the floor.”
You shake your head, pacing over to where he stands.
“I trust you,” you tell him. “We have to get comfortable with each other at some point.”
Zuko nods, blushing and unable to hold your gaze.
“You're right,” he agrees. “I trust you, too.”
You gently take his hand, causing him to shift his eyes back to yours; you smile, giving his palm a light squeeze.
“Zuko, it’s okay,” you assure him. “Really. I’m okay with it.”
Zuko nods again, reaching absently to brush a stray lock of hair behind your ear.
“I just want you to feel safe,” he admits. “You’ve already got enough to worry about without… all of this.”
You scoff, rolling your eyes as you smile at him.
“All you’ve done since the day we met is protect me,” you remind him. “Sleeping with you is the last thing that could possibly worry me.”
Zuko chuckles, leaning to press a chaste kiss to your forehead.
“Don’t laugh at me,” he playfully scolds. “Or I’ll make you sleep on the bed roll.”
You gasp, giggling as you push his shoulder.
“I can’t believe my own husband would make me sleep on the floor,” you tease. “And in a strange city, no less! You’re so awful to me.”
Zuko rolls his eyes, smirking as he bends and hooks his arms under your bum, lifting you up over his shoulder. You squeal, laughing as he carries you into the bedroom and flops you down on the mattress, jestfully smacking a pillow into your face.
“Get changed, Queenie” he tells you, retreating into the sitting room before you can launch a counterattack. “The party’s in an hour.”
Tumblr media
In the ballroom of the Earth King’s palace, it seems everyone in the city has turned out to celebrate your arrival.
You sit in a throne beside Kuei’s, Zuko to your left and Aang to the Earth King’s right. Dignitaries from Kuei’s cabinet as well as various parts of the kingdom come to give their regards, all greeting you much more fondly than many of the guests at your wedding; Kuei is excited to introduce you to everyone, giving fervent, detailed descriptions of what each person does and launching you into long conversations with them. You don’t mind his enthusiasm, finding it endearing that he cares so much and so openly about the people who serve him.
“Ah, here’s a very special guest!” Kuei announces, cheerfully clapping his hands.
A woman approaches the throne, leading a large, furry animal up the steps towards you; its long claws and massive stature send a chill through you, but once you look into its beady little eyes and notice its round ears and bumbling demeanor, you’re enamored.
“Is that a bear?” you ask, excitedly gripping Kuei’s sleeve.
“Yes!” he cheers. “His name is Bosco; he’s a close friend of mine.”
Bosco lets out a soft growl as Kuei scratches him under the chin, pulling the fuzzy giant into a tight hug.
“He loves cuddles and blackberries,” Kuei tells you. “Don’t let his claws scare you - he’s a big softy.”
One of the servers appears with a bowl of fresh fruit, setting it into your lap for you to share with your newest party guest. You carefully take a blackberry into your palm, holding it out for Bosco to sniff; his nose hovers above your fingers, letting out a few warm huffs of breath onto your skin before licking the berry up into his mouth. You turn to Kuei and give him a wide smile, gathering more berries into your hand for Bosco to eat.
“I love him,” you tell your host. “He might be coming back to the Fire Nation with me.”
Kuei laughs, giving Bosco a loving pat on the head as you continue to fatten him up, switching between feeding him and running your fingers through his thick coat, giggling when his tongue flops out to lick your cheek; you never expected an animal fabled to be so fearsome to turn out so sweet.
Once the bowl of fruit is empty, Bosco settles onto the floor at the foot of Kuei’s throne, letting out a heavy yawn. Kuei reaches to scratch behind his ears, then stands, offering you his hand.
“Would you like to dance?” he asks. “I heard you and the Avatar made quite the display at your wedding.”
“We did!” Aang chimes in, also getting to his feet and sweeping Toph (who stands just to the side of the thrones, having declined the royal treatment for the evening) into his arms. “We were taught a few Earth Kingdom dances by your advisors, too!”
Toph laughs as you’re both led onto the dancefloor, taking her position beside Aang.
“And that’s why I call him Twinkle Toes,” she jokes.
Kuei chuckles, taking you by the waist and starting the dance, twirling with you in an interlaced circle between Toph and Aang. You each pass from partner to partner, raising your hands to meet them together and spinning gracefully around each other before returning to the escort you  started with. Kuei’s arm skillfully finds your waist when he takes you back in, each of you facing the opposite direction with your sides pressed together, turning in a clockwise motion. He grins at you, and you can’t help but smile back.
“You’re a natural!” he praises you. “I’m sorry I have two left feet.”
You laugh, shaking your head.
“Back home, they consider me clumsy,” you confess. “I used to step on my brother and sister’s toes when they tried to teach me to dance - I still do sometimes!”
Kuei chortles, taking your hand in his and repeating the sequence of steps you just completed. You recite the ritual five times before the dance is over, ending with each of you bowing to each other with cheerful, elated smiles. Someone behind Kuei clears his throat, and he turns to find Zuko, his hand outstretched toward you.
“You promised to teach me to dance,” he reminds you.
You nod, a burning heat pinkening your cheeks as you take his hand.
“I did,” you echo. “Thank you for the wonderful dance, your majesty.”
Kuei smirks knowingly between the two of you, bowing before taking his leave.
“The pleasure was all mine, my lady,” he says in parting. “It’s rare that I have such an excellent partner.”
Zuko’s arm locks around your waist, skirting you to the edge of the dance floor where he stands stiffly, holding you in place in front of him. You let out a soft giggle, resting your hands on his chest.
“I thought you didn’t want to learn how to dance with an audience?” you prod, starting to sway in time with the music. Zuko does the same, his body drifting along in sync with yours.
“I wouldn’t enjoy the party if I sat through it,” he explains, trying and failing to sound nonchalant. You quirk a brow, grinning teasingly at him.
“Sure,” you say. “It definitely didn’t have anything to do with me dancing so close with another man.”
“Not at all,” Zuko replies. His hand at the small of your back clutches you a little tighter, giving himself away. “It looked like fun and I wanted to join in.”
You roll your eyes, smirking as you take a step back from him, lacing your fingers with his.
“Let’s find Aang,” you suggest. “He can help me teach you the dance we did at our wedding.”
For the rest of the evening, you, Aang, Toph, and Zuko occupy a small corner of the dance floor, guiding the Firelord with the steps of your favorite traditional Water Tribe dance. He’s nervous, moving with rigid gestures and clearly unsure of what his body is supposed to do when set to music, but he tries, watching every move you make with rapt attention. By the end of the night he has the dance memorized, and you twirl in time with him as Aang cheers him on, Toph laughing beside him at the ridiculousness of the scene; Kuei even joins in, rousing Bosco from his nap and dancing with the bear on his two hind legs, sending the entire ballroom into gleeful fits.
“You’re better at this than you think, you know,” you tell Zuko when you’re left alone, dancing with him much the same way you danced with the king earlier in the night. “I noticed at our wedding that you have great rhythm.”
Zuko blushes, his lips curling into a timid smile.
“I’m a fighter, not a dancer,” he says.
“They’re not that different,” you shrug. “From what I’ve seen of fire bending, it’s a lot like dancing.”
Zuko hums, gently turning you so that your chest is pressed against his, his hand resting firmly at your waist.
“Maybe it’s the music lessons my mother forced me to take when I was a kid,” he muses. “Uncle still keeps asking me to play the tsungi horn for him when we’re together.”
“You play the tsungi horn?” you exclaim, eyebrows raising in excitement. “You should play for both of us sometime!”
Zuko groans, immediately switching the dance so he can pass you off to Aang.
Tumblr media
You lean against the sitting room in your guest suite, watching the lights of Ba Sing Se as they flicker with the movement of its people. The world looks dreamlike from where you sit, as if it's been turned upside down; a black expanse of sky hangs above a sea of stars, and you float between the two, dizzy with the surrealism.
Zuko emerges from the bedroom, having changed into his pajamas after giving you the chance to do the same. He crosses the room to where you sit, resting a hand on your shoulder.
“You coming to bed?” he asks. You nod, standing and following him back into the bedroom.
Zuko allows you to slip between she sheets before him, giving you a few moments to get comfortable before crawling in beside you, keeping to his side of the bed. Even though the mattress is large enough to fit another couple between you, you can still feel the warmth of his skin spreading across the fabric below, feel the weight of his body sharing the same space as yours. Your heart flutters against your ribs, making your breathing shallow.
“I had fun tonight,” Zuko whispers into the darkness around you. “Thank you for teaching me how to dance.”
“I had fun, too,” you reply. “I can teach you the dance people do for Water Tribe weddings; I wish we could’ve done it at ours.”
“I’d like that. I’m sorry we didn’t have much Water Tribe tradition when we got married… We should go back and have a ceremony there. I’d like to see you in a Water Tribe wedding gown.”
A shiver runs through your veins, heating your skin as if a fire has been lit beneath it. You roll over to face him, making out his silhouette against the rest of the shadows in the room.
“I’m glad you asked me to marry you,” you admit to him, the manic jitters in your chest rising to your throat. “I don’t think anyone else could treat me better.”
Zuko reaches his hand towards you, finding yours beneath the blankets and curling his fingers with yours. For a moment you forget that your relationship was arranged, feeling as if you’re lovers instead of leaders, tasked with repairing a world that’s been shattered since long before you were born.
“I’m glad you agreed,” Zuko answers. “I was afraid you’d hate my guts because I stalked your brother and sister for six months when we were teenagers.”
You release a breath of laughter, the pressure in your body unraveling with it. Zuko’s thumb runs tenderly across your knuckles, and you forget that anyone else in the world exists except for the two of you.
“Goodnight, Zuko,” you murmur.
“Goodnight,” he hums back to you. “Sleep well.”
You wake early in the morning with his arm draped over your waist, your head tucked under his chin with your cheek pressed to his chest. You drift back to sleep to his quiet, blissful snores, his heartbeat pulsing in time with your own.

Avatar tla - first watch brain dump 2/2
Carried on from here.
Zuko
You angsty, disaster mess.
Like I said, I went in knowing his backstory/eventual redemption, so that’s coloured my perception.
That said, it’s fascinating how….careful the writers are with him? Like right from the start there have been lines he hasn’t crossed and they’ve limited his proper *villainous actions* (e.g. not killing anyone, keeping to him promise not to massacre the Water Tribe when he captures Aang).
I went in thinking he was the Big Bad, but he really isn’t??? In s1 it’s Zhao and in s2 it’s Azula.
Half his conflict isn’t even with the Gaang, it’s with his own people.
And the show was so quick to establish he’s surprisingly….good compared to most of the Fire Nation nobles?? Like, as early as episode 3 you have the Zhao/Zuko fight and Zuko fighting honourably while Zhao screws him over.
And that’s all before you hear his backstory, and that he started out wanting to protect people
Then he keeps sort-of teaming up with the Gaang against the Fire Nation – as the Blue Spirit, against Azula etc.
Don’t get me wrong, he’s still this self-absorbed teenager with serious anger management issues
And Aang, Katara & Sokka have also suffered & aren’t running around hunting people down like he is - he’s done damage & Zuko needs to realise that. It’s a redemption arc, not that he’s been a hero the whole time.
But it’s not a “oh this villainous character is popular, let’s forget all the bad stuff he did & he can join the team.” He’s laid out to be a lighter shade of grey from the beginning with his own story that isn’t all about defeating the heroes
 Iroh
Ok, I know everyone loves Iroh – and he is hilarious and such a good Dad to Zuko.
And he obviously isn’t committed to the Fire Nation party line, and initially seems blasé about the war.
But…idk
Bc it turns out he was involved in the war previously?? As a general who attacked the Earth Kingdom and was responsible for what hundreds or thousands of deaths??
Maybe he’s changed since then – but he did help attack the Northern Water Tribe?? And enables Zuko to capture Aang’s body?? He doesn’t turn on Zhao until he kills the moon spirit.
Idk, he’s played as this loveable old guy, but as a member of the royal family he is complicit in the Fire Nations actions. He’s not some foot soldier – he’s smart and had power, and you’ve got to wonder why he didn’t try & change things
But we’ll see. Either way he’s a great character.
 Aang/Katara
Not sure this deserves it’s own section, but I’m just not into it sorry
It’s not that they’re not close or the writers haven’t developed their relationship (they’ve been hitting us over the head with it since ep 1).
The pair just feel so much more like a sister/brother relationship. (Or even a parent-kid thing which is uh, not what you want in a romance).
Like their whole dynamic is Katara mothering Aang, supporting Aang, teaching, counselling, calming him. Aang obviously has his crush but I don’t see that Katara feels the same way. (Apart from her fortune telling her she’ll end up with a great bender).
Idk it doesn’t feel very equal and I want Katara to have a relationship where she doesn’t have to be Team Mum and always the caretaker
Also the maturity between an 11 yo boy & 14 yo girl is just…massive. Just like…no.
It’s not even that I’m shipping Zuko/Katara (they’ve haven’t interacted that much yet, though their s1 finale fight scene was incredible). If anything I was shipping Haru/Katara
But I know it’s inevitable so not much point bitching really.
Basically the show is as good as everyone told me and I am hooked.

Note
ahh yay u reblogged that ask thing i was hoping u would. ok so. yue/yueki (whichever ud prefer!), azula, bakoda :)
omfg leo <33 this makes me happy ok buckle up for a massive post
yue
how I feel about this character
when i first watched avatar i didn’t rly get her,, like i couldn’t get invested,,
but the more i think about her the more i love her
she is so kind,, so good,, deserves the world,,,,
all the people I ship romantically with this character:
sokka (not to be heterosexual but they were rlly cute onscreen okay)
suki (the vibes!!!!)
katara (moon <3 and <3 ocean <3 gfs <3)
my non-romantic OTP for this character:
yue x a long, happy life leading the northern water tribe and smashing the patriarchy
my unpopular opinion about this character
i can’t think of anything because nobody ever talks about her!! she’s so slept on :(
one thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon
it would’ve been cool if she joined the gaang,, i just love that idea sm. she would’ve brought one more braincell too and they Need That
my OTP
probably yuetara bc i just love that thing where u ship two characters who are foils to each other... very good, usually gay...
but honestly i’m only just opening my eyes to the wonderful world of atla wlw ships so my opinion is yet to be solidified
my cross over ship i don’t do crossover ships lol i find it hard enough gauging whether two characters have chemistry onscreen u cannot expect me to extrapolate it across media
a headcanon fact
i think yue probably hated pakku and she was goddamn right
azula
how I feel about this character
listen i skipped this q bc i couldn’t unpack it enough and honestly later on in the post i wrote two entire essays of how i feel about azula so just read that
all the people I ship romantically with this character
nobody, she needs to heal
my non-romantic OTP for this character
azula x therapy
my unpopular opinion about this character
idk if this is unpopular exactly and it’s gonna take some explaining
basically i went into the show (bc i only watched it for the first time a few weeks ago lol) expecting that she would be a Bad Bitch™ bc everyone’s like,,, simping for her
anyway
that’s not what she is?? like at all???
and at first i did not like her and i was like why does anyone like her even a little bit she’s literally just an agent of fascism and imperialism
and while watching the finale i finally was like Oh.
she’s an abused child. and all she ever learned how to do was manipulate and fight and make war
and she literally never recieved love from anyone
i just don’t understand how you can look at her character and think “yass queen” OR “she’s a crazy bitch”
i am fervently on team Uncomfy When People Idolize Canon Azula But I Desperately Want Her To Heal
one thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon
realistically, her redemption/healing arc would be messy and complicated and not at all linear and hard to make into a compelling tv storyline
and any “redemption arc” that would be compelling children’s television would not be Good Enough For Me
and unpopular opinion i don’t think it would serve the story to add an addendum of book 4
so no i don’t want the atla writers to concoct an Azula Redemption Arc
but i want the characters in canon to save a little space in their heart for her
for someone she has not directly hurt to see her circa sozin’s comet and say, “this is not the warmaking machine ozai tried his best to make, this is a deeply hurt child”
someone like iroh
scratch that “someone” shit i want iroh. i want iroh to hold space in his heart for his niece, to see that she is not a lost cause. please. you did it for zuko please do it for her
my OTP:
azula x therapy
my cross over ship
a headcanon fact
lesbian.
obviously.
bakoda (which is honestly at this point my actual otp i am fully subsumed)
when I started shipping it if I did
honestly idk? i think i got it from a tumblr post lol i was like “oh? we ship these two? excellent” and just Ran With It
my thoughts
the Old Gays vibes are immaculate. the yearning. the fighting beside one another. the raising children. perfect in every way
what makes me happy about them
that they can grow old together, happily, in their home, in a world at peace...... God
what makes me sad about them
the idea of bato just... pining... for years... the Angst
if we’re talking canonverse then i love mining bato’s injury for angst just consider the possibilities: bato feeling abandoned at the abbey... bato thinking hakoda will never love him if he’s left less mobile... bato not properly taking care of himself
i just have so many emotions about bato someone stop me
things done in fanfic that annoys me:
just straight up ignoring kya or even worse, kya slander, like,, she and hakoda were also in love
((i may or may not have literally done that in one of my fics and still have weird feelings abt it but it was 600 words of fluff so))
things I look for in fanfic
literally ANYTHING i will read any fanfic that has bakoda as a tag, bakoda nation is all about the crumbs
but for real. the yearning. all of the pining. they need to spend years in love with each other without saying a goddamn word
also if it wasn’t clear from my fics,,, whenever a bakoda fic includes kya i Love that shit. makes me go all heart eyes emoji. i love her. i love her so much i need more kya content
bato/hakoda/kya ot3 content is so blessed,, i see bato as gay probably but i can vibe with bisexual or it can be a v configuration
who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other
hakoda with kya, obviously
my happily ever after for them
growing old together.......... just being old queer dads in love...... please i love them so much this is giving me Emotions
who is the big spoon/little spoon
bato is the big spoon he’s like a foot taller than hakoda and hakoda just wants to be Held
what is their favorite non-sexual activity
there’s a bakoda fic on ao3 where the tags “burn scar care” and “mutual pining” are adjacent and uh yeah. That.

Greaser!Wonwoo Part 1
Tumblr media
(A/N) SO... I decided to do this. I finally got the courage to do this. I was debating if I should do this for Wonwoo or Jaehyun, like I was writing this for Jaehyun, but I have a different idea for him now. I have a massive AU that I've had in my head for a good year now and there's most likely gonna be little hints to it in all of these 😐 Please keep in mind that I'm on mobile 99% of the time so some formatting may be weird. Another thing... I might have Sims based on these scenarios that I might make another blog for 🤔

Greaser!Wonwoo... no one knows who he was until he started to hang out with the Diamond Gang, Pledis Prep's local criminals
He just kinda appeared out of nowhere with Mingyu
Rumors has it he's a narc, but that doesn't make sense... he's.... in the gang... like Seungcheol has straight up said that if Wonwoo was a narc, ain't no one would know he even existed
What had happened was Minghao and Mingyu were partners with Wonwoo for an assignment
Wonwoo has dragged to a race one day and was just kinda thrown in the car after Mingyu get his head smacked
You know that scene in Grease where Kenickie gets hit in the head before Thunder Road?
Yea, that's Mingyu and Wonwoo right now
Seungcheol told Wonwoo if he wins, he doesn't have to join the Diamond Gang, he can just leave with no consequences and live his life. If he loses, he's now the group's running bitch
Take a guess at what happens?
He actually wins, but Jeonghan convinced him to stay with promises of getting to know how to break into the local library after hours
You wanna know how Jeonghan knows this? He's not only lazy, he's also the librarian's son, he has a key duh
Y/N was the stereotypical good girl
Follows rules? Check. Straight A's? Check. Always home at curfew? Check.
Wonwoo hates being called a Greaser and he finds the Socs name stupid
Wonwoo thinks the labels are just pretentious bullshit
Seungcheol has told Wonwoo horror stories about the Socs
How they treats their girls, how they have the cops wrapped around their fingers, how Jeonghan was put out of comission for 3 months just for walking on Soc territory
Wonwoo tries not to believe the b.s., but it's really hard when it seems like all there is, is just a bunch of hatred between the groups
So, he walks around the town, Masonridge, to just clear his mind, when he sees the Soc gang, Neo, at the baseball park, beating up someone who looks to be protecting someone else?
Wonwoo looks around for something to wave in the air to make himself look scary, seeing as he doesn't have the Diamond Gang leather jacket yet.
Right now he's in his glasses, a light yellow sweater with the cutest little sweater paws
He sees a bat left behind by the Pledis baseball team and he goes up to Neo and confronts them
He sees Johnny, Taeil and Yuta turn around and he gets a closer view of the situation
It's Dino... protecting Y/N... after she said she wouldn't sleep with Johnny
At this point, Wonwoo sees red and he starts swinging
The 3 memebrs of Neo seeing this haul ass back to S.M. Academy, but not before Yuta warns Wonwoo that Y/N is just a troubled slut in a poodle skirt
Dino helps calm down Wonwoo and they both help Y/N
Y/N is kind enough to let both of them come to her house, seeing as her parents aren't home, for some tea and so she can wrap up Dino's wounds
Wonwoo texts Seungcheol to let him know what just went down and Seungcheol texts him to stay at Y/N's, let Dino rest and don't let Y/N out of his sight
Tbh this takes place in one of those future of the pasts, like it's 1950s styled... but it takes place in the present
Anywho, all three finally get home and Wonwoo and Y/N patch Dino up and after a little bit, he decides to take a nap because as we all know, getting the shit beaten out of you hurts a lot and may or may not take a lot of energy out of you.
Wonwoo starts to douse off and he doesn't even notice that Y/N left the room until his phone buzzed and he got a text from an unknown number saying Y/N looks really good standing on her balcony right now, with a photo attachment of Y/N looking like a goddess out to the fading skyline
Wonwoo immediately shoots up from the couch, calling for Y/N
He sees her chilling on the balcony, swaying with her cat, Mochi, to some Michael Buble
He's just hypnotized... like he's not one to fall in love at first sight, so he'll call this love in the first 4 hours of knowing you
He finally speaks up, making sure you're okay after what happened
Putting Mochi down, you say you're fine, just a little shaken up
Wonwoo and you are quiet for a little bit, until he finally asks why Yuta called you what he did
You tell him about him the story of your father and mother. Your mom was a Greaser and your dad was a Soc
Within the first year of your life, your mom left with your dad's best friend, who was also a Greaser
Using the excuse she needed more freedom and adventure and that's exactly your dad's friend could provide
When you turned 16, your dad was super protective of you, but you decided to act out like your mother
You got wrapped up in the wrong group, you hung out with Neo and your first love was Yuta, as you were his. You gave your virginity to him, he gave his to you
After that happened, he started to act distant and become more of the Danny Zuko type of Greaser, flirted with everyone, tried to get into everyone's pants, he literally didn't give a fuck anymore
Turns out, while he originally did love you, he just kinda stopped, but he still cared about you... so instead of just ending it, he just led you on and continued to let you believe that he was in love with you1a
After that night when you both lose your virginities, he started to ghost you and you saw him less and less and even thought it was never offical, it was unofficially offical.
So to cope with your heartbreak, you ended up throwing yourself into studying and this is when you met Dino
Yuta didn't like that you were talking with another guy even if it's someone like Dino who you saw as a brother.
Yuta was pissed so he started to spread a rumor about the reason y'all broke up was because you were sleeping with everyone at all of the schools around Masonridge
Yugyeom from JYP Prep, Hyuk from Jellyfish School of Music, and 4 of the other members of Neo were just a fraction of the names that were thrown around. All of them denied it except the Neo members of course
Your father was pissed and while you apologized about treating him the way you did, he didn't fault you because you realize what you were doing
Wonwoo, sensing your tears and against his better judgement, immediately hugged you and held you while you cried
While this was happening, your father came down and saw Dino on the couch, curled up like a cat, using his Diamond Gang jacket as a pillow and Mochi's favorite blanket to cover himself
Knowing Dino, he didn't question this , but still your father goes looking for you and finds you asleep on the bench, while Wonwoo is pacing, trying to stop himself from destroying Yuta
Your dad speaks up asking who he is
Wonwoo introduces himself as one of Dino's friends
Turns out your dad knows exactly who he is because you talked about the tall cute brooding guy who sits in the corner of the library and you're too scared to ask him to move so you could get a book you needed for class
Wonwoo blushes at the fact that you told your father you think he's cute
Your dad shakes you awake because he doesn't want you to fall asleep on the bench when it looks like a storm is coming oh if he only knew
Dino and Wonwoo are offered to stay for dinner and they won't turn down free food like ever
While your dad and Dino are setting up the table, you and Wonwoo are cutting the vegetables and doing the prep
Wonwoo keeps taking peeks at you wondering if you still thinks he's cute or if you don't even like guys anymore or has your shirt always been unbuttoned to the 3rd button and are you getting hot because he is and are yo-
In the middle of thinking, he slices his finger and Nurse Y/N is needed one again hmm... nurse Y/N with Patient!Member? 😏 but what kind of patient is the question
You bring him to the guest room because your dad is very queasy when it comes to blood it makes that time of the month SO MUCH FUN
Wonwoo is sitting on the guest bed while you're cleaning the wound and wrapping his index and middle finger together and Wonwoo just can't stop thinking about how cute you look so focused
You put the final touches on and before you get up to the first aid kit away, Wonwoo sees his chance and kisses you
At first you were confused but then you melted into it
He tasted like coffee and mint and your lips had a light tinge of strawberries
He didn't want to scare you or your dad or Dino. So, he just kept his hands down by his side
Much to his shock, you decided to straddle him and kiss him a bit harder
Wonwoo was in a state of pure bliss until Dino knocked on the door causing you to stand straight up and Wonwoo to fall back in disbelief
Dino, totally oblivious to what was happening beforehand, cheerfully told yall it was time for dinner
Cue the most awkward dinner for Wonwoo, sitting there thinking about the kiss and all of his feelings because he's been thrown for a tailspin in the past month between becoming a member of the Diamond Gang and falling in love after 4 hours with a Soc
Seungcheol finally comes to pick the two after dinner and he thanks you for helping, even shaking your father's hand
You asked your father why he was so chill with the Greasers in his house. Not only Greasers, the notorious Diamond Gang
He said that in his years of being a cop, he noticed that the Diamond Gang hasn't done anything wrong except for drag racing
Other than that, they're just a group of guys who found the real home in each other and anyone who hangs out with Dino is a good kid
And he already likes Wonwoo miles ahead of Yuta
The next day, Yuta confronts you about being with Wonwoo, saying what does Wonwoo have that he doesn't?
You started to list everything about Wonwoo, even the little things about him, that made Yuta furious because you never talked about him like that
Yuta challenged Wonwoo through you, you could say
Yuta tried to pull that whole if he's so good why won't he race me bullcrap and before he could say the last word, Wonwoo accepted
Yuta marched away and you looked at Wonwoo like what the hell
Wonwoo gets up all this courage and says that he knows that he can and will win if you're there with him, cheering alongside the Diamond Gang
You told Wonwoo that Yuta plays very dirty and he's not one to be taken lightly
You smack his arm but also tell him that you'll be there with Nayoung and Roa
The day comes and you couldn't be anymore nervous, you kept thinking what if Yuta does something drastic to hurt Wonwoo and holy shit you've felt this way about one other guy and that was Yuta and you don't like this feeling but you like Wonwoo and has Wonwoo always had that nice of a chest in a white t-shirt?
Nayoung shook you off of your thoughts as the guys got in their cars, Yuta shooting you a wink and Wonwoo blowing you a kiss you know that snarky kiss Xiumin did? with the two fingers? Yea it's like that just with more love instead of snark
Xiyeon stated the rules... there was no rules... and started the countdown
3.... Wonwoo looks at you, 2..... he mouths I love you, 1..... he hits the gas pedal
Both taking off like a rocket, Wonwoo was behind for a good chunk of the race
The turn was coming up and Yuta has going well over 70 while Wonwoo was going to drift
Yuta takes the corner....
But he takes it too wide and crashes
Wonwoo stops, just lead foot on the brake and he unbuckles and runs to Yuta's car
He's shouting and trying to get a response from Yuta, anything, a groan, shout of pain, something

The Last Jedi (A Spoilertastic Review)
So I stayed off Twitter for almost ten straight days and I reduced my Facebook usage by about 80% in the last 48-hours in order to avoid spoilers for The Last Jedi, as I was spoiled for Han Solo's death in The Force Awakens literal days before attending its premiere years ago. Was it worth staying off social media to stay unspoiled and unbiased?
Eh. I dunno.
So I'm now hearing, as I return to social media, that some fans hate the movie. Color me shocked. (That's sarcasm, if you can't tell--we really do need a font for that.) There is a large chunk of the Star Wars fandom that contains some of the nastiest, pettiest, most immature hypocrites on the planet earth, and I can see those same fans hating this movie. Well, maybe I can help balance the scales.
To be frank, I'm not a Star Wars fan. I saw the originals as a kid and liked them okay, I hated the prequels and I still think they have zero justification and do not stand up to even the slightest film criticism or storytelling criticism at all, and I liked The Force Awakens quite a lot. For me, The Force Awakens finally gave me a reason to personally invest in the Star Wars franchise. Don't get me wrong--as a kid and a teen, I liked Han and Leia. I liked the setting of the original trilogy and the memorable stories and performances and dialogue. However, Luke was, well, this is an unavoidable pun, a lukewarm character for me. I didn't really care about him and I didn't understand him from a personal standpoint, so while I enjoyed the story, I just didn't take anything away from it. Force Awakens introduced me to an ostracized girl who had a miserable existence who always felt like she was waiting for something to happen to give her life meaning, and a terrified slave/survivor who defected in order to run away from something he feared but he instead found a reason to stay and fight. Plus, adding in the fact that Finn is awkward and likable and now I am emotionally invested in the new main leads of the franchise.
Sadly, though, The Last Jedi falls short in most of the aspects that made me like Force Awakens. Keep in mind, it's still an enjoyable film, but it most definitely suffers from Middle Movie Syndrome, where there's a lot of wheel-spinning because they need action set pieces, but in the end, what happens doesn't really change much about the characters or their motivations. Allow me to explain below. Naturally, spoiler alert.
Overall Grade: B-/C+
Pros:
-Creative scenarios. I like the film's creativity in terms of the scenery. The Force Awakens lived in the shadow of the original films. It was a very strict sort of format in order to make the older fans feel at home and to bring the new fans into the franchise at the same stepping off point. However, this film was able to stretch out a bit and not feel as bound by the same look and feel of the original trilogy. I know a lot of fans bitched about that with Force Awakens, and I think it was a semi-legit complaint, but I felt it was mostly the studio being cautious and trying not to piss off such a massive number of fans. Here, the scenery feels new and fresh, from the casino to the large part of the plot taking place on unfamiliar planets or with the rebels in space.
-I'm not going to sit here and lie--Oscar Isaac finally got to me a little bit in this one. Don't get me wrong, I liked Poe but I noticed Isaac amassing a legion of fangirls and was mystified as to why. Poe was a good character and Isaac's a good actor. Then when I saw Poe getting passionate about the rebellion, I admit I started to swoon a bit. There's just something about the way that he cares, how he makes the war feel that much more personal, and his relationship with Leia that floats my skirt up quite a bit. I like that he is hardheaded and impulsive, but he still feels like his own man. At first, I was worried he'd be our Han Solo replacement, but they drifted away from that idea. He's a very enjoyable character and I give a damn about him. I like that he grew this time, that he was able to recognize that he can't make every mission a suicide mission because the rebels have limited numbers and every man is precious. That's cool. I can dig it. Nice work, Mr. Isaac.
-I enjoyed seeing Finn take another step towards becoming a more stable rebel. He was still naive and brash, but he gave it his all and he was ready to make the ultimate sacrifice in order to do what he felt was right. I appreciate the hell out of that and I'm glad they didn't kill him. I threw my hands up in the theater because I like him a lot and I thought they were going to do the dumb thing and waste him. Phew. Bullet dodged, for now at least.
-I enjoyed seeing Yoda pop back up. Granted, he took his sweet ass time, but that was a nice surprise for me. I thought it was very touching to see him again, and well timed since Frank Oz is on the older side and we don't know how much longer we'll get to enjoy him.
-The Luke and Leia forehead kiss almost made me cry. Fuck. God. It was eerily appropriate as our goodbye to the amazing Carrie Fisher. I miss her terribly and seeing them reunite for the last time genuinely tugged at my heart strings.
-I liked the idea of Luke wavering when he found out Darth Temper Tantrum--excuse me, Kylo Ren slash Ben Solo--and being faced with a terrible choice. I like that Kylo's interpretation of danger is what screwed everything up and made him run away. It's a simple misunderstanding on a grand scale that is important to both of them and it's about the only thing that I think works about Kylo Ren's character. We'll discuss more about him in the Cons section, though. I like it because it's reminiscent of something I love from The Dresden Files series, where Karrin Murphy and Harry Dresden are talking about the fact that some people become monsters because you treat them like monsters. The possibility that maybe he wouldn't have turned if Luke hadn't gone there to stop him is great motivation to cut yourself off forever and feel that you deserve to die alone with the last of the Jedi kind.
-Luke's projecting power at the end was a nice aversion to being slain by the whiny git Kylo Ren. I'm still angry he dies anyway, because what the fuck was the point if you still killed him off, but that was a cool power that I don't recall seeing before and it made Luke seem even more badass than I ever thought possible. Nice work, Luke.
-We'll discuss my problem with Ren's fake redemption arc momentarily, but I did like the scene where he kills Snoke. That was a nifty idea and I like that Snoke's smug ass didn't see it coming. He was so convinced he knew everything and that manipulating Ren and Rey would give him what he wanted, but it didn't and that's a satisfying story element in a movie that kind of botches most of its pay off.
-I liked the Purple Haired Lady (sorry, I didn't catch her name, I have a bad memory) light-speeding right through the fucking Empire ship. That was a badass way to go. Now, granted, I still think it's pretty ridiculous that all the main characters managed to survive a catastrophic event like that no problem, but it was still cool as hell.
-Rey's a nobody. Called it. I love that she didn't have super special plot relevant parents. They were just scumbag assholes, much like Yondu's parents in Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2. Thanks for disproving all the nonsensical fan theories. I knew she wouldn't be Luke or Leia's bloodline, but I like it even better than her parents don't even get names or anything. That's baller storytelling.
-Leia surviving the cruiser explosion. What. A. Badass. Motherfucker.
Cons:
-The biggest problem I have with the Last Jedi is Kylo Ren's fake redemption arc. Look, I get what they were going for. It's reminiscent of what happened to Zuko in the amazing Avatar: The Last Airbender series, and that to date is still the best redemption arc I have ever seen with my own two eyes. That's possibly why this one fell so flat for me. The set up for Kylo Ren is relatively solid. He was raised by heroes of the rebellion and so it was expected of him to become something great, and Luke training him sounds like a great bit of backstory as well. However, by not showing us details, Ren's redemption arc rings hollow as hell. Let me explain. They never showed us the details of the darkness that was apparently building in Ren. What is it driven by? Is it just a feeling? Was he just dangerous and unwilling to listen to Luke while he was in training? You can't just give such a blanket statement without reasoning or showing the actual backstory itself where we see what made him someone Luke thought would kill or massacre the innocent. I think the movie should have had a flashback segment of Luke and Ren's training days where we see that, yes, the kid was powerful but he had no restraint and he was arrogant and cruel or at the very least, unfeeling. Most of the time when you have that type of character, it's one of those traits that leads to evil. He thinks he's above the law or above reproach because of his power, or in Ren's case, it could have been because of his parentage. That was a huge missed opportunity. Maybe he was just a spoiled brat from being the son of two war heroes and the nephew of one of the greatest Jedi of all time. But we get none of that. We just get that he was a bad apple and Luke panicked and his panic made Ren run away. But that brings me to the next part that doesn't work in this film. Okay, so you think your uncle tried to kill you. Why did you immediately decide to join up with the fucking Space Nazis? How does that work for your desires? We don't know why Ren joined up. It's one thing to abandon your family out of anger and shame, but the Empire literally slaughters billions of innocent lives on a daily basis. We don't know why Ren said yes to them because we haven't been told personal details about him. Why did he blame Han and Leia? It's totally backwards. He should have gone to them and told them what Luke did, and there should have been repercussions. Maybe they didn't believe him and that's why he ran off, but the film doesn't tell us any of these things that would help us understand him more. Then, the final nail is the idea that Kylo murdered the other young Jedi, murdered Han, tried to murder Leia, and has been in the company of genocidal maniacs for years, and yet the film wants me to believe he can be saved. Nah, bruh. You gone. You been gone. You're not gonna flash your puppy dog eyes at me and think I want you to come to the light side. You stood by and watched billions of people die and yet Rey's big blues make you change your mind, but only for your own ambition? Fuck off. That entire thing fell to shambles for me. I like the idea of Rey and Ren having a connection because they are both alone and unsure of themselves, but this was not the way to do it. Ren's actions are beyond irredeemable. They were irredeemable the second he killed Han. Han didn't do shit to that snot-nosed punk bitch. He was his father and he wasn't the one who turned on him, it was Luke, so frankly, Ren can fuck off the edge of my non-existent dick, and I don't like that the movie swept all his indiscretions under the table to say maybe there was still good in him. He's a selfish bastard and that's that.
-Implying that Rey would turn to the Dark side fell flat on its face as well. She had no reason to turn. The movie played with the fact that she was alone, but that still doesn't work. She's not alone. She has Finn and the rebels. Sure, none of them would be able to understand the Jedi aspect of her personality, but it's still stupid for them to act like she would just be magically okay with the genocidal maniacs who slaughtered everything in the galaxy. It was weird, too, because Ren says something to the effect of "I saw you turn" and that doesn't happen, so was he lying to manipulate her or did the movie drop the subplot altogether? There was never a moment that I doubted her. I knew she had a pure heart because of what we've seen from her before. All we knew is that she was simply scared and alone. None of that translated to her joining the fucking Space Nazis, so why did they even pursue it? I think this could have been done better if instead of Ren killing Han (but to be fair, it's all Harrison Ford's goddamn fault, if he didn't hate Han, then this idea could have worked) we saw Ren and Rey starting to understand each other BEFORE he killed Han. Love is a strong motivator for if you want to have this idea of Rey possibly wavering from the light. I sure as fuck don't ship Reylo and I think it's gross, but if you rewrote the movie so that she and Ren bonded in the first film rather than him simply terrorizing her, then sure, the second film where she feels a connection with him and wants to rule at his side because she loves him now makes sense. The idea is similar to something from my urban fantasy series that I wrote, where the villain has no plans of ever turning good, but he has a soft spot for the leading lady and he doesn't want so much to turn her as make her his so he can be with her, and she doesn't so much want to turn him good as she recognizes that there is something inside him that calls to her. This is one of the only cases where I think a canon romance would have made more sense than whatever we got in the film itself. I could see Rey doubting herself if she fell in love with Ren. The starcrossed lovers angle is much stronger and much more believable than just "Rey doesn't know who she is and she thinks maybe she can bring Ren back to the light."
-I didn't like Finn and Rey being apart for the entire film. I think their friendship was easily the best and strongest thing about the Force Awakens. Both of them had strong motivations to do what they did and it made sense for them to both care so deeply for each other because they crashed into each other's lives and saved each other. They work better side by side, not in separate storylines. Their friendship was charming and adorable and this film really should have used it.
-If you add everything up, Finn's entire mission was pointless. The stand-in commander already had a plan and so everything Poe, Rose, and Finn did was pointless in the end. That sucks. You wasted their time and the audience's time, and that's what I meant when I said this movie has Middle Movie Syndrome. It feels like they just needed to find something for Finn, Rose, and Poe to do and so they just threw them this B Plot that is entirely useless and that's a huge disservice to them as characters.
-Rose is pretty forgettable. That's not knocking the actress playing her. It's just she's sort of a tool to the story and they really should have given her a better role with better stakes. I also don't like the shoehorned "love" line. It was a good line for the rebellion, but not for those two characters. I don't buy Rose falling for Finn. Finn's awesome, but they didn't go through nearly enough and didn't bond at all during their journey, so that "love" line is awkward and unwanted to me.
-Luke's death. Look, the fucking movie is called The Last Jedi, but did you really have to fake us out only to kill him anyway? That was fucking lame. What would have made it go down easier is if Luke had known when we first see him again that he was on his last legs. Build up his final days. Have him be old and tired and coughing constantly or knowing by the Force that he's reached the last moments of his lifetime, and that's why finally spurs him on to help the rebels once again after he meets Rey. Don't spring it on us. It didn't have a good impact because it just felt obligatory because it's the future franchise and we have to have our original three protagonists all bow out for the new kids on the block. I wanted a more touching death scene for him, even though I liked Han and Leia more from the original films. It just felt like a waste of a great legend for him to die out of nowhere. I actually thought from that shot that he saw an Empire ship firing at the island to kill him and I sort of like that more, as it would have been a good sucker punch (and we did hear Snoke mention that before he died) so I think this was yet another missed opportunity.
-Though the entire movie focuses on Rey, I feel like it told me less about her than the first film did. I like that she's a nobody. That's good. That's strong. That's interesting. But I don't like that she didn't really bond with Luke and I don't feel as if she learned a single damn thing on that island aside from maybe Ren was starting to falter, but in the end all he did was kill Snoke and assume command. He didn't turn back to the light, so why was there all this focus on him that took away from her? I was excited for the film because I thought Luke would come around and train her the way Yoda trained him. That would reveal more of her abilities and her strengths and weaknesses, but we didn't get much of that at all and it's not fair to her. She has so much potential, but it felt squandered to me.
-The goddamn Porgs. Look, Disney, I know you gotta sell toys, but I haven't seen such a transparent fucking commercial for toys since Olaf from Frozen. Jesus H. Christ. They literally just keep popping up on screen like a goddamn commercial. It's so obnoxious. They are not that cute. They're just gerbils with duck feet. I think Star Wars fans overreacted about the Ewoks, but if they all hate the Porgs, sure, I'll light a torch to march in that parade. Stop that. I'm watching a movie, for God's sake, not a toy commercial.
-I'm not really sure where things are heading with where it ends here. It just seems sort of vague and undefined, and as if we didn't get much accomplished in the long run. Very wheelspin-y.
-There’s a million plotholes and plot contrivances. I can’t be bothered to count them all, so a year from now when CinemaSins does a video, then I’ll post a link, Just know there are a lot of plotholes this time around.
Bottom line: if the neckbeards are out here hating the movie, cry me a fucking river. It is in no way that bad. The prequels are still by far the worst movies in the franchise. I think The Last Jedi is simply misguided. It brings up great questions, but then doesn't answer or address most of them. It introduces too many ideas without flushing them out and making you connect on a personal level the way The Force Awakens did. It's mainly just that the goals are unclear and so are the characters. I think it's still possible to get the franchise back on track with the final film. I certainly don't think this movie is bad by any stretch. I just feel that it missed its target. Maybe they'll hit it next time.
