She was beautiful as she walked into the room, everything about her was what you wanted. Even though you were what she wanted. She was hungry, and you were her next meal. Her tight pink dress was well tight. The puffy sleeves and short skirt were everything. She flashed a sparkling smile and raised an eyebrow at you. She sat beside you at the bar.

“You’re beautiful.”

“You look like a great snack, ever done it in a women's bathroom before?”

“No, but I am sure ready to do it.”

She smiled taking your hand in hers, she pulled you along to the bathroom past the other patrons and staff before pushing you into the bathroom and jumping at the chance to kiss you. Your lips on hers, your heart was beating quickly.

It was a thrill for her.

The sound of your heart beat was enough to give her a thrill.

She kissed you deeper, smiling into each press of your lips. Each kiss was desperate and needy, soon she had you on a bathroom seat. She straddled you as you moaned, her blonde hair bounced as she laughed and kissed you roughly. “You want it to hurt?”

“I do,” you mutter softly into each kiss. She chuckled a bit and threw her head back in hunger as she bit you, she began to drain your blood. She was starving, and you were her meal. She needed you, and you were her willing slave. Despite the pain you wanted to give yourself to her, and she could tell just by your scent.

You could feel your body shaking in pain, but you wanted to give yourself to her.

She could tell you were a willing slave, and so in turn she decided to spare you. She pulled her fangs from your skin. She looked you dead in the eyes. “My name is Elinor, and you are mine now. You belong to me, and you will let me feed and I will continue to see you. So please, meet me back here tomorrow night. I’ll be happy to have you.”

You smiled as she rubbed a thumb over her lip as blood dribbled from her shining fangs. “Yes of course, my lady.”

You smiled, kissing her, the taste of your own blood lingering on her lips. You were hers.

First Kill is a feat and needs a Second Season

VE Schwab wrote the short story and knew what she wanted when it got ordered as a show. If you read the story, it literally is almost exactly like the first episode. The author just worked with a diverse team of like queer and BIPOC writers to expand the tiny story into the show it is today.

She wanted to provide more sapphic, lesbian and black representation in a genre that never cared to include depictions of people like her unless they were dying or being punished. A problem not only for white queer characters but very much also for black characters, queer or not.

She saw a problem, a lack, and she set out to make exactly what she made. A campy and earnest lesbian Romeo and Juliet vampire story with frankly comical CGI that has a nostalgic feel despite having just been made. She created nostalgia for us in a show about a teenage lesbian vampire and black teenage lesbian monster hunter that could NEVER have been made during the time she is referencing. This show is a feat!
