You already know he’ll pay top dollar for a one of a kind wooden cradle, hand knitted baby blankets, glass bottles, tons of tiny stuffed animals (cause he doesn’t know what the baby’s favorite animal is gonna be! Gotta get them all just to be safe). Every time you two pass by a baby section of a shop he’ll slow down and look longingly as the fuzzy little outfits on display, wrapping an arm around your waist to rest a hand on your stomach as another not so subtle hint that he wants a babyyyyy listen to the poor man ;-; you know he’ll treat you so good

Teasing him is just so fun though ;) you know what he wants and thinks it’s adorable to see him rearranging the guest room across the hall from yours, taking measurements for the nursery furniture he wants to move in there. Lately he’s been extra cute as he’s tried to get your attention more and more, trying to show you what he wants because he’s a little too shy to say it initially. But of course we know he becomes bolder later 😩

Deep in the throes of updated covid booster-induced fever, so it won't be happening tonight, but I finished Nocturne and I have Thoughts™ about it, which I will probably share eventually, once I have the energy. I also have Many Thoughts about some things I've seen slinking around the tags, which I will not be sharing, as I definitely do not possess the requisite energy for that XD

#a very positive reaction overall #i have a couple of nitpicks but that's really all they are: nitpicks regarding extremely personal preferences #so they don't actually matter in the grand scheme of things imo #music and animation were exquisite #the entire thing was an extremely enjoyable watch #given what mutuals told me i was expecting to be very well-fed re: morally grey antagonists and i was #wildcards with no attachments to any side but with a strict personal code all the same are 🔥🔥🔥 #(purple period coats and long hair are always a plus of course) #i was not expecting the art history/archaeology student with focuses on the ancient mediterranean and mesoamerica in me #to be well-fed as well. so. that was a *really* nice surprise. #knights hospitaller of st john of malta we meet again lmao; we go wayyyy back in fiction. good to see they're still assholes XD #and needless to say i *adored* the main theme running throughout the season #gonna go pass out now. lie down and cook in bed like an egg in a frying pan. #let's hope the fever lets up by tomorrow because i've got so much shit to do T_T #withoutwords

even if the notion has been there all along, i think it’s funny how even in season 3 (which was a complete disaster to everyone who’d already been on the mike/will train pre-s3) they had almost rom-com-like little moments such as the scene where they’re forced to sit in the back of the car

back then i was one of the first people to lose hope, but in retrospect, even if it didn’t feel like that, they didn’t abandon the idea that will may have a crush on mike and in fact all the little moments in there were painstakingly part of the larger narrative and not just of some throw-away quality

#i finished journey to the east and i went into it completely blind and #it's a short one but when i finished it i had to rotate the whole thing in my head until i fell asleep #first of all the blend of reality and fantasy as well as past and present is really fascinating and kind of trippy #and it's not just a blend of time but also of places and settings. and then it will randomly drop you back into early 20th century germany #in a very jarring way like it all feels like some kind of fever dream #the narrator is also UNRELIABLE 🔥🔥🔥🔥 or maybe he doesn't even know it himself #but the reveal at the end really recontextualises everything in an interesting way #and the very ending was also really thought provoking to me #and underneath it all i felt like the core message of the book was how you have to put active effort into finding joy and wonder in life #and how easily you can become disillusioned and also how easily it is to feel like everyone else abandons you if you're actually the one #who gets disillusioned and distances yourself from others #and then at the very end you get a very meta treat on what it means to be a creator and creation. or perhaps #(puts orv goggles on) the relationship between and the nature of writer and protagonist #hesseposting
