I find it hilarious that you had the chance to make mapleshade a complex character but instead you her more “redeemable” which she isn’t redeemable you just made her morally correct. Like no one is going to say she’s was in the wrong for killing the people that caused the death of her and her literally KITS!

Like stop pretending that’s she’s redeemable. She’s not. Anyone with an amount of empathy is not going to think she’s a evil witch. like what’s there to redeem? No like seriously?

And all the other female characters in this au are either little goody two-shoes or a Side bitch to the male characters. (Leopard and Ivy)

If anything I am actively trying to make the female characters more complex than in canon. so ... i dont understand what you are saying.

Onto talking about ur Maple claims. I dont fully understand what you are getting at? Are you saying that she was already redeemable (because she absolutely wasn't) or are you saying that she cant be redeemable (bec that's fair)?

I do somewhat regret using the term "redeemable" for RoC Maple, bec Im more so trying to give her a gray character characterization. She is in many ways still a horrible person. she is still a serial killer and enjoys haunting and tormenting people, even if those cats "deserve" it doesnt meant that its okay to do that. She is filled with hate, and anger and she is never able to free herself from that. So, ya she's not a goody two shoes she kills and tortures people.

HOWEVER, her backstory and motivation gives her the potential to be far more "good side" leaning. I feel like it really works for the themes of RoC for her to be on the side of the main characters rather than the villains. Her being a vengeful spirit that guides those she relates to and sees her kits in makes since, and really works for the au, especially since I am exploring how the Stars aren't all perfect and good, and the Dark Forest isnt pure evil.

Also I would like to point out that a LOT of people think that Mapleshade is an "evil witch" and despise her so ... ya.

frustrated anon here! i think i didnt fully get my point across—i dont mean anything i said as an attack on you guys!!!! i just personally find myself getting a little frustrated because it does sometimes feel like youre getting a little short with people, or something along those lines. its definitely not a problem per se, its just something ive noticed and how the tone comes off to me personally sometimes! i fully support you guys doing whatever the hell you want here; its your comic, its your blog, etc etc, and if people dont read or want to be spoon fed or smth thats definitely on them not you guys

thats what i meant when i said i couldnt imagine one of my passion projects getting popular. sometimes people just come at you out of left field and youre free to respond to that however feels natural. like i said i just sometimes personally read some answers and go “oh come on they didnt mean anything by it”, if that makes sense! ive been a fan of this comic from nearly the start so im def not one to be saying much lol

Just to clarify: us and other folks were just speaking in general terms. Aside from that one anon that responded directly to you, what was being said is just a commentary on the weird or downright problematic asks we get sometimes. Again, us correcting anons and highlighting that some of their takes - however good intentioned - are reductive is not intended to be an attack on the anon. Some people genuinely mess up and come out with misconceptions and that's OK. We try very hard to understand that.

However, if I may be completely honest, I don't feel it's fair that anons are being given the benefit of the doubt in your ask but not us? "They didn't mean anything by it" could also apply to a TON of our responses, I feel. What you may read as us being on the attack could just be us sitting an anon down and explaining something they've got wrong. Or just politely disagreeing. I'm just sayin' that I feel that the last few instances of anons trying to say we're rubbing them off the wrong way has come off the back of answers that I feel are completely innocuous, with us kidding around about people asking spoiler questions and me explaining how people in cults actually function being the most recent examples and yeah, I agree with that one anon that it feels nitpicky.

I will also say that I feel we've come a long way with just deleting anons that we feel are either wilfully ignorant, haven't read the comic properly or just want an argument. Going any further is just going to make it appear like we don't want to engage with any anons other than the ones full of praise for us and we don't want to run that kind of blog. Just stopping by to say this (also sorry in advance, english is not my first language)

some of these headcanon critiques are a bit.. hurtful in a way - especially coming from a system POV who has system members of the band members that while are different, are sort of how people normally portray i guess you could say. we have a dewdrop that's very i guess you could say fem and subby, ect ect. And reading some of these hurt a lot. and sort of felt like .. a slap to the face almost. Our Dewdrop headmate is now sort of afraid to even make a post about their own headcanons of themselves because they don't want to be bashed for it or bullied for it. These critiques come across as straight up bashing vs critiques.

to our system friend here, hi. im sorry that what i and/or others have said hurt you. it was not my intent to come across as bashing, and i know i have a tendency to be 'loud' about certain things, etc. absolutely not an excuse, and im sorry if others felt that they were unwelcome to speak up. so, i appreciate those who did stop by to say so.

i wont backpedal on my opinions, though. i tried multiple times to make clear that almost everything about these ghouls is headcanon, and you are absolutely free to say 'fuck off crow, i like dew being x y z'.

if your dew is more feminine and submissive, then that is a-okay. but, the way the ghouls sometimes are portrayed can be very two dimensional. many of us, essentially, would like to see a bit more variety, even if your characters still fit this common fanon characterization.

like our second anon here has said, these common characterizations are understandable, due to how they act on stage. hell, rain was called 'bambi' for a little bit because he kept tripping over his own damn legs. their stage presence still plays a part in their personalities, absolutely.

to what extent, of course, varies from person to person. ive seen many a headcanon say that 'dew only acts that way onstage, hes actually really shy/reserved in person' just as an example. and all of these things that we think about the offstage characters is technically correct because we dont have a basis for it otherwise.

the original intent of the asks last night was simply to discuss headcanons/characterizations people liked the least. and im sorry if it resulted in something that felt placating, invalidating, or just mean. again, i tried to state in multiple different ways that those things were what i headcanon. not that people are 'wrong' for thinking x y z about a character. i dont even agree about everything that my friends think about these ghouls. and thats fine. i wouldnt want everyone to just think like me either bc then its just a boring echo chamber. many of the things i spoke about, if i come across them, i just skip and move on with my day. everyone has different ideas, and sometimes its just not for me. just like my ideas arent for everyone either.

you have full autonomy to post and think and create anything you want about ghost. what i dont want is people thinking im some kind of authority, or that people arent welcome to say their thoughts. i wanted (and still want) these things to be a discussion, an open forum for people to talk about their headcanons that may differ from the norm.

with all this being said, i want everyone to have fun here, and i dont want anyone to feel pushed out of a fandom because one or two loud people 'dont like' what they believe about silly nameless ghouls in a rock band.

i want people to feel like they can write characters differently than others, or if you enjoy those common characterizations, that you recognize when things might slip across those lines we spoke about yesterday. that everyone is critical when warranted, not just because someone said they dont agree with you. you feel me? and if you dislike something, and want to see something specific, you have the ability to create those things if you wish! thats the beauty of it all.

i know these are not fun conversations to have, and that some people might feel defensive about specific topics. but we all need to understand there are nuances to situations, to opinions, to people. okay?

hey so im v curious about like reality shifting and stuff but idk much about it and i have some questions

hii ok

im like

a bit eepy

but ill try to make my thoughts make sense

(forgive me, i wanna learn more about shifting and the community, but all of my knowledge comes from inherently critical sources, so im sorry if i come off as rude or anything, im not trying to be i genuinely want to learn more about this)

reality shifting

to my understanding

is like...kinda a combination of fiction/fanfic and dreaming.

and it stems from the idea of the multiverse?

and the idea. that you can exchange your consciousness with someones from another timeline/parallel universe

and usually this happens when youre dreaming or begins when you sleep

(also plz correct me if im wrong on any of the stuff above)

now onto question stuff

i think its pretty important, that like. a lot of the stuff ive seen around shifting and like, response to any criticism is basically like 'youre the only person holding yourself back" like, anyone can shift, so if you cant its your fault

and on one hand i guess this could be motivational? like as long as you try hard enough its possible?

basically i want to make sure it isnt hurting peoples self esteem or mental health

but also. i. had a similar experience with lucid dreaming when i was a kid. my mom had a phase about lucid dreaming and was telling me all about it and was like 'you should try it' so i did. i tried. over and over. to somehow just 'realize' i was dreaming and take control. it never worked for me. and my mom was like 'well i guess youre just not trying hard enough'

and it was really disheartening bc ive always had trouble with sleep (might have like. insomnia or something. ive never been able to sleep well through a full night even before my life was consumed by screens.) and ive always had extremely strange dreams. and in my waking mind of course i know that if my teacher turned into an octopus with an apple for a head (yes this did happen in a dream) i would definitely notice and be like 'hey, thats not right' but it doesnt work like that in dreams. in my dreams it kinda feels like my impulses control me and i dont have any sense of self or logic.

and it felt awful to be told that it was my fault that i couldnt do it.

i also know that lucid dreaming somewhat ties into shifting so thats one of my other concerns, bc ive never been able to lucid dream and i dont know if i ever will

also idk where to put this but like. safety is important to me. i have friends who shift and i want to make sure they arent like, actually at risk of dying? and even seperate from that im wondering if people use this as a form of escapism too often that it becomes unhealthy and like negatively affects other aspects of their life

next question: is there proof

of course theres going to be anecdotal evidence from individuals in the community, and thats super alright. but sometimes people make things up. and sometimes people tell made up things to young, impressionable children who carry those falsehoods into life. and im worried about that

ok so ive read like 1 artice about this all. but immediately it brought up a major red flag for me. it gave an example of a study on shifting. but. it didnt cite its sources

and if anyones wondering that is a huge no-no. anyone can make up conclusions from made up studies. the point of studies is to show that people who are properly educated and know what theyre doing support these claims.

now im not saying shifting is made up in any way. it just seems sketchy to me that seemingly widespread sources talk about studies but theres no links or anything. theyre basically saying 'i saw a thing about it. just trust me.'

also uhh...idk much about the multiverse. but from what i understand. it comes from the idea of free will. and that every time anyone makes a descision, a parallel universe is created where they made a different descision. so i get that that could change a lot of things about the world like the rate of inventions and industrialization and wars and stuff. but really the shifting that ive seen most is into more fantasy leaning worlds. and im kinda wondering how thats possible in the multiverse? like sure theres infinite timelines...but most of those timelines will just be like. the same as this one but samantha chose to put on her right sock first instead of her left sock or something. and physics still applies, right? so how does hogwarts exist? does hogwarts exist? if magic is real in a parallel universe, is it real here?

so basically to sum it up my main questions are:

how do we know shifting is possible for everyone?

is it safe? (mentally, physically etc)

is lucid dreaming necessary?

is there any proof or credible source that i can look to for more info?

and how does this tie into the multiverse theory

also if anyone has any information about scripting and like evrything about reality shifting that would be great

i wanna learn more but im afraid of finding misinformation

You sighed, avoiding eye contact with them, and remained silent “come on hurry up we have to get home!” Kiri said grabbing your hands leaving spider behind

You thought to yourself, with a grin spreading across your face as you started to run faster with kiri.

A few moments has passed. You were at the Sully’s home.

As you were trying to catch up with your breath, you began scanning the place to see if he was there. But there was no sight of that person you were hoping to see. As Spider catches up, you all went inside the Sully’s home.

You spotted neytiri and Tuk together, you brought your hands to your forehead and then forward to their direction, signaling “i see you” and Neytiri did the same thing.

“Y/n!!!” Tuk ran up to you with open arms and began hugging your leg. “Hey tuk! How are you?” You said, as you patted her head gently “everythings great! Come here!” She said excitedly while jumping up and down signaling you to sit down with her mother. You followed and sat down, same with Kiri and Spider

Neytiri gave you a welcoming smile. “How are you y/n?” Neytiri asked gentle as possible. Neytiri always loved it when you were around. “Everythings alright! Im so glad to be here again…” you replied with a hint of excitement in your voice. Neytiri chuckled at your response “well, thats great to hear y/n” she said give you a reassuring smile.

As you were talking with Neytiri about things you missed and how you wanted to catch up. You felt a tug on your arms.

You tilted your head in response, “hmm?” You looked to your right to see tuk. “Can i play with your hair?” Tuk said, asking for your permission. Tuk always loved playing with your hair, and even braiding it and putting beads and decorations to yours.

You smiled at her, and nodded “sure tuk!” You replied, as you saw her face lit up when you agreed. So without waiting she jumped up and grabbed her beads and decorations that she can add to your hair to match hers. It made you giggle.

After that, you turned around and brought your focus back to Neytiri and starting another conversation while tuk braids your hair. Everything seemed perfect again.

Hours went by that felt like minutes, you also noticed that the sun was almost down and dinner is almost ready. You all went to stand up to get ready for dinner as you feel your newly braided hair with a few beads and feathers, “wow… tuk this is amazing!” You said to the little one. “Really?? Thank you y/n!” She said loudly with excitement.

Neytiri turned to both of you smiling, “y/n do you mind calling neteyam for dinner? Spider and kiri can look for lo’ak” she smiled while setting up dinner. Spider and kiri nodded, you also nodded but hesitantly

You were brought back to reality…

Neteyam.

You walked out of the home, and started searching for him.

You search and searched everywhere but he was nowhere to be found. The sun is finally gone leaving it dark, but with the help of the moon and stars, some things were still visible.

“Where could that damn boy be?”

You cursed under your breath as you started to grow more worried.

As you were walking you felt a strong arm grab yours, you gasped at the action and immediately pulled away in defense, but the sight infront of you left you shocked. It was neteyam.

His eyes were filled with shock to see you here, freckles glowing, and a smile forming on his face.

“Y/n…”

The way he said your name left shivers down your spine. You smiled softly…

“Neteyam, your mother is waiting for you to come home for dinner, come” you said leading the way back home, but you were stopped as he grabbed your waist and turned you to face him.

“I want to talk”

He said, tightening the grip he had on your waist, with his eyes widening realizing how close you two were. He shook his head and stepped back a bit, afraid to make you uncomfortable

“Y/n even though you aren’t ready for relationships, or anything romantically…”

You gasp quietly, knowing what he was talking about…

“I would always be here, Always. Even if you aren’t ready i will always be here incase you change your mind… y/n i will always be here with you.”

His words warmed your heart. with him letting you know that he wont EVER leave you and with the grip he had on you made your heart flutter…

“Even if it takes a 100 years”

a/n: hello my lovely humans!! i have not been here in quite a while! im so sorry! now that i have some free time i whipped this up for you! i hope you love it. miss you guys and ask box is officially OPEN.

pairing: jj maybank x reader, platonic pogues x reader

word count: im not sure!

warnings: anxiousness at the end? death mentions? not a lot!!

it was a few weeks after john b and sarah had passed. well, to everyone else's knowledge anyways. the truth was john b and sarah were alive. and the only ones who knew that were pope, kie, jj and you.

you guys were currently ducking under some building ledge you'd climbed on to watch ward and gavin. just moments before you saw ward murder him in cold blood. in front of your own two eyes. it was pouring, the cold water drenching every inch of your body. jj was to the left of you and pope was to the right of you. kie sat next to you as well, holding your hand. pope was leaning over the wall with his camera, but dont tell him you said that, because then he'd just correct you to the right wording.

catching ward seemed impossible, because no matter what evidence you ever got on that man, somehow he'd always get away with it. it was the money, it'd always be the money. he was an asshole and either people saw it and closed their eyes, or just would never say anything against him.

jj's hands were holding your waist sturdy as you were balancing on your bent knees to hold you up.

"there he goes. i think he's looking for the gun!" pope exclaimed. his body moved from left to right slowly following wards every move. your eyes peeked up as you saw him running down and chasing what seemed to be the gun in the current. he raised his arms in agony and placed them behind his back. he yelled something, but you couldn't make out what he'd said exactly. all you could make out from the rain clouding your eyes, was that he was pissed.

the fury you were feeling was over the moon. you were so pissed right now. that was the man who'd framed your best friend. a sixteen year old kid who didn't do anything wrong but live out his life with his friends. this was the man who ruined all of your lives. who made you have panic attacks at night, that woke jj up to help you go back to sleep. you'd get nightmares too, ones of john b and sarah dying. he caused this.

"i think the gun just went down the drain! he's lookin for it." pope muttered again. your heart was pounding. how could he just kill a man, and how could you have just sat there and watched? this wasn't right, whether he'd get his consequence now or later.

"hey. he's lookin for the gun."

kie stood up, and you and jj watched her,

"kie. what're you doin kie?" jj's eyebrows furrowed in confusement. you guys didn't want to get caught, so why was she making it obvious that you were here?

"kie." you whispered. you looked back at jj just to be met with a nod from him, signifying he didn't know what was happening either. this was so important. please dont mess it up, you thought.

"WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!" she shouted, from the top of her lungs. your stomach instantly dropped at the thought of ward cameron, the man who just killed someone, in public, would hear kie.

jj's hands were ripped from your body as he tried to pull down kie's. you tried to put your hands on her mouth, trying to help jj in calming her down.

"YOU ARE A MURDERER!" she shouted once more.

"kie please shut up!" you whisper-shouted, hoping she'd understand the gravity of this.

"what're you doing?" jj said his hands were on her arms, trying to stop her from standing and causing any attention to you guys again.

"i dont care if he hears me! he's a murderer!" she lunged forwards, trying to make ward hear it, but pope caught her so she wouldn't.

your eyes darted down to ward, who was now onto you guys. he was sprinting the street, trying to get up to the building you guys were on.

"guys, he sees us!" you shouted trying to gain your friends attention by waving your hand from behind you.

"are you serious?!"jj shouted. he let go of kie and grabbed your hand, trying to help you stand. your heart was pounding. never in your life had you been this nervous. sure, you were pissed at ward, but this was not the time to yell at him! you were trying to catch him red-handed, and leave. not try and catch him and cause attention to yourselves so he'd know you were there!

"come on lets go!"pope yelled in you guys' direction.

you got up and sprinted towards the ladder you guys had used to get up there, really hoping you'd get down and into the car as quick as possible.

you were up first, and heights weren't your thing. but for today, it was going to have to work, you'd told yourself.

"c'mon baby, hurry hurry hurry!" his hands grabbed yours. he stood at the edge of the ladder, watching you go down as fast as you could.

then went pope,

"lets go man! we gotta go!" jj got onto the ladder directly when pope made his first step down, and then kie. and suddenly you watched as kie's foot stepped on jj's hand, making him scream and fall off he ladder, causing him to knock pope off while he was at it.

"no!" you shouted as you watched the camera fly in the air, and then fall to floor before you could even react.

"sorry! so sorry!"

kie said as they were on the ground.

your eyes widened at the sight. it had broken into pieces. no. this couldn't have happened. everything you'd had on him, you lost it.

jj and pope got up as quick as speed goes and pope grabbed the camera off the ground.

your hands flew to your mouth, this was all for nothing.

"are you kidding?! you fumbled it?" jj yelled.

"you kicked me in the face!" pope had spat back.

"she stepped on my hand!" he'd gestured out at kie.

"i was trying to hurry!"

groaning you stepped in front of them, this wasn't the time to argue. especially when a murderer was chasing after you guys.

"STOP! both of you stop! he's coming, GO!"

you ran with them and watched as they all jumped the gate. you then jumped it lastly.

you all finally got to the car and in went pope in the passengers seat, kie got in the drivers and you and jj got in the back.

out of breath you shut your eyes and moved your hair out of your face. jj's hand met your cheek as he looked you deeply in the eyes.

"are you okay? look at me." his hand raised your face to meet his, allowing your hand to drop to your lap.

"are you okay?" he repeated. he looked at you for reassurance and you nodded, swallowing.

"as okay as i can be while a murderer is chasing us."

he panted and nodded, looking up at pope and kie.

his hand went to his own face now, using both hands to bury it in.

"can someone tell me what the frick just happened?!" he muttered, and you looked up at your friends as well.

"holy crap. i cant believe it." he added.

"wait what the hell were they even fighting about?!" you asked.

"uhh,-

pope started to fiddle around with the camera, trying to piece it back together.

"it was a gun- the one rafe used. he must've kept it."

"of course! of course! the murder weapon!"

you threw your head back and your hands hit your face, shit. how could this night have gone any worse.

"pick up, pick up."

you sat up in confusement, was she calling someone?

"who are you calling?" jj asked,

"who do you think?" she said with distress in her voice.

"the cops?" pope furrowed his brows and leaned in closer towards kie.

was she serious? the cops?

"who else am i supposed to call?!"

"why would you call the police that's ward!" you shouted, leaving everyone to look back at you. jj's hand found your thigh, helping you calm down. you never raised your voice, and didn't like getting in trouble. to say the least, you were the mom of the group, so calling the police would be something you'd do. but in this mess? god, no.

"sheriffs office....." the rain was pounding on the sides of the car like someone was outside banging on it, it was so bad tonight. it basically set the mood for how it was going.

"hello?! hello? somebody's been shot you guys need to come to the grand street construction site! i dont know if he's dead or not, you guys need to hurry!"

"we need to get out of here! were sitting ducks, we gotta go." jj said.

"what do you want me to do?!"

"just drive!" pope said.

the car picked up and your head started pounding as hard as ever. a major headache was forming. you wanted this to be over.

"so...ward cameron just popped one off and killed em,right?" you were now standing on the same construction site platform that you watched ward kill gavin on. you were trying to explain to shoupe what had happened.

except this time, there was no body. no blood. no signs of distress. this wasn't a crime scene to the naked eye. but it was to yours. you saw it happen.

you watched as jj got down and inspected the ground, it was as clean as ever. no blood. no mess. no distress. as if nothing had happened.

"yes shoupe." you muttered.

"how long ago was it?" he stated at you questioningly. you and shoupe had went back to seventh grade, where he was your supervising officer in the juniors police academy. law had always had a special place in your heart. you had been in the academy ever since a few weeks ago, when you dropped out because of john b's disappearance. you were the highest in your program, a team leader. so when shoupe had told you your best friend was dead, and he could do"nothing" about it, and the way he betrayed you by not believing you when you said your best friend had nothing to do with peterkins death, you left. he was pissed, you were his star student heading in good directions.

now here you were with your friends trying to make him understand that ward was a terrible person. but obviously his grudge against you had its own leverage.

'about 45 minutes ago."

your friends were letting you take the lead on the questioning, knowing you knew all the right words. you knew how they worked, how not to fall into his lap.

"and he cleaned it all up in that time frame?"

you crossed your arms and nodded your head in disapproval.

"yes. we filmed it."

he looked up at you and then the camera in popes hand.

"but then i stepped on jjs foot and it broke." kie spoke up.

he looked at all of you, and left his eyes on you for slightly longer, making jj stand closer towards you.

"were done here."

"what? so thats it?" you muttered following him down the stairs.

"we both know a murder could not have happened that fast with no evidence."

"y-yes it could have! shoupe i watched it fucking happen!"

jj's hands came up to your shoulders, trying to get you to calm down.

"just like you know john b didn't murder peterkin?"

"what? who's talking about that?"

"hey man." jj said, standing in front of you now. he was getting overprotective of you again. ever since john b, your emotions have been everywhere and he wasn't gonna let shoupe affect that.

"go home, kids."

"baby-" jj outstetched his arm to comfort you,

you nodded your head and started to walk off, pissed at this entire situation.

"i told you this would happen!" jj took off his hat and motioned towards kie.

"like you're the one that had to drop the camera", he continued.

"it was your fault!" she exclaimed.

turning towards her he yelled,

"oh it was my fault?!"

"yeah! it was your fault!"

"why do you always take his side? why do you never take mi-"

"oh yeah, what about you? taking your girlfriends side for everything!"

"shes my girlfriend kie! i cant just not take her fucking side!"

pope shook his head beside you and you stopped walking abruptly. you had tears in your eyes. what a shit-show.

"SHUT THE FUCK UP!" you yelled, over it. you couldn't stand it. your head was pounding, your eyes were becoming cloudy and it was all too much.

both of them whipped their heads to look at you.

"you two bickering like little kids is not going to help anything. we can still do something." you looked over at the sewer drain next to you.

"we can go get the gun."

you guys had all parted ways last night, excluding you and jj, who went to the chateau together, and calmed down enough to all be forgiven. you guys were all better now and were now looking for the gun.

you guys were at the drain dump, where excess items that weren't supposed to be in the drain went.

"oh my god. people who use plastic should be shot." kiara huffed.

"okay. personally, i love plastic. use it everyday. love the stuff." jj retaliated.

you hit his shoulder and he looked back at you defendingly.

"stop teasing her you idiot."

your eyes widened at him teasingly and winked. he widened his mouth, as in in shock and leaned in for a kiss. you leaned back into him, and just as his lips were about to meet, you swerved, so he hit your cheek.

"ohhhhh...." was the sound made by your friends who were both dying of laughter.

"not cool y/n."

you shook your head and stood next to him, whilelooking at pope and kie.

"anyways-" pope started,

" i knew you'd say something like that which is why i brought......trash bags!"

he smiled towards her and you smiled at how cute that was.

"did you just proactively protect the environment for me?"she replied in awe.

"maybe."

"ew im gonna vomit" jj mumbled

you just looked at him with a defeating yet playful look. "do you really not wanna get laid? like ever again?"

"woah woah woah no no no i dont- i wasn't- how is that fair?!" he protested, and you just laughed.

after cleaning every inch of trash up, no gun was found. you and kie sighed, standing together. you were exhausted.

"if its not in the trash, then it has to be in the storm drain." pope pointed.

"of course it is." kie mumbled.

"good thing i brought the crow!" jj said, moving over to grab it.

"good thing you brought the crow j." you said sarcastically, staring at the gross drain.

"so, are we doing rock, paper scissors?" kie asked. the boys both looked at her at the same time, and then you. you furrowed your eyebrows in confusion.

"how bout alphabetically? the oldest?" you suggested.

"one, two, three!" they lifted the cover of the sewer drain and placed it to the side, revealing the deep dark hole of the sewer.

jj looked at you and smiled,

"in the sewer there's this worm that you get down there, it goes into you and then comes out of your pecker so that uh...a no from me."

"yeah same rules apply here too."

"you mean the same pecker that i-"

jj's lips came into a smirk as pope threw his hand over your mouth, blocking out what you were gonna say.

"gross." he mumbled

jj nodded at you devilishly.

"its fine you guys are just scared. scaredy cats if you will."

"nah were not, i'm not scared i just"

"yeah me neither, i'm not scared of that thing."

as their bickering continued you rolled you rolled your eyes and stepped forwards.

"ill go if you shut up."

"oh thank god i did not wanna do that" kie breathed, relieved.

she shot you a thumbs up and you looked at jj, as you bent down in front of the smelly sewer.

"okay can you just-" he shot a look at pope and kie, cause he was about to get sappy.

"can you just be careful for me, if you need anything we're right here okay?" he leaned in and your lips melted together.

"awwwww" they spoke from behind you guys.

you pulled away and smiled at kie. "i'll be soooo careful baby."

"look how soft jj looks right now, i wanna capture this forever." pope said, nudging kie's shoulder as they smiled.

jj pecked your lips again quickly and you saluted all of them, going in as fast as you could.

as you started to crawl you couldn't help but notice the grossness around you. the spiders crawling and the sap wetness from beneath.

"see anything yet baby?!" you heard jj's voice echo from behind.

"nothing yet!" you shouted back, trying to focus on what was in front of you.

after about five minutes of looking around, nothing. and you’d made the decision to start heading back.

you crawled further in, the water flooding in as you got into the deeper part of the sewer, where you where able to stand.

your eyes drifted down, your eyebrows furrowing together. what the hell? why was there a draft of water coming in?

at this point, the water was at around your waist. you screamed as hard as you could,

"JJ! THE WATER! ITS FUCKING RISING!"

it was loud, so loud. nothing seemed real.

your breath seemed to dimmer, and your lungs were working overtime.

was this it?

like yn (to a lot of people) may be like a little intolerable but honestly i think the reason we have such a reaction to her personality like that is bc we see a little bit of ourselves in her if that makes sense…

PERSONALLY, I AM A YN DEFENDER FOR LIKE THATS MY HOMEGIRL.. like imagine you grew up in a world where soulmates are the basis of your romantic future. the sheer fact that that in itself already builds a sense of you either love your soulmate or hate them in someones head (considering that most of the time,, soulmates are portrayed as; first time you meet, you just know)

yn,, having met megumi long before you brain could have developed a coherent understanding of relationships, and lacking in the sense that when she met megumi,, she didn’t feel sparks like they said she would, obviously, she would categorize those feelings as hate. THATS WHY WHEN MEGUMI SAID “i dont think you really ever hated me either” HIT SO HARD FOR ME I WAS LIKE OH MY GOD…

BASICALLY WHAT IM GETTING AT is the fact that there is so much pressure already due to the fact that soulmates are said to be your other halves, so if you don’t like them, theres immense pressure and insecurity (hence yn’s hostility to the subject of her hating megumi because she has no comprehended idea of why she actually hates him) plus the fact that they met when they were kids and that probably affected the way she saw relationships in the first place EXPLAINS WHY SHE IS SO ADMENT ON BEING INDIFFERENT TO HIMMM

very weird question. how can you stand being a fan of cr even with the stuff regarding devsisters? i really like cookie run, but i can't get over the things they've done and i hate that it gets excused bc they're of different culture and their half assed apologies are always accepted. idk i haven't played in almost two years and i sometimes i want to go back into it but also it's hard.

sorry to bother but i am curious because i am tired of feeling bad.

oh no worries!! i totally understand, youre not being a bother at all

honestly i havent played cookie run in like 2 years. i too got pretty sick and tired of all the bullshit w devsis and p much gave up on crob and crk altogether. honestly i dont think anything they can add to the game will ever get me interested in playing it again.

that being said, i still rly like the characters!! a lot of them still mean a lot to me for personal reasons. at this point i only enjoy cookie run for the sentimental attachments i have to certain characters/ships (and by ships i just mean seamoon AKSJDJDJDJ). and i rly love the talent and creativity of the many wonderful fanartists out there!!! and even tho i may not know much abt the newer characters, especially in crk, i still think a lot of em are really neat!!

and honestly, youre not obligated to play the game in order to enjoy the things you do like abt it. if you really want to get back into it again, you can enjoy it from a distance if u want. or if it hurts too much, you dont have to get back into it at all; you can blacklist the tags if it makes you uncomfortable. youre free to engage with it at whatever pace you feel is best, or not at all.

ultimately, just know that there are many different options for enjoying media and curating your experience with it. you dont have to play the game at all if you dont want to; and if you do, you can choose not to do things like watch ads or make in-app purchases if you dont want to give any money/ad residue to devsis. (im not entirely sure if just playing on the server makes them money tho; someone correct me if im wrong).

whatever you decide, do whatever makes you feel the most comfortable. sometimes you have to drop something you used to enjoy, and that sucks. other times, you may find that there are ways you can derive enjoyment from it without supporting its creators. its up to you to decide what you want to do; thats my perspective anyway. go at your own pace and figure out what works best for you. im rooting for u anon <3

my thoughts on the claudia situation from ep5 (tw: SA)

it's wrong. for one, it should not have happened to her. multiple anne rice's characters suffer from some sort of SA and that's okay and her books are a place where that sort of stuff is portrayed. that's not inherently bad or wrong.

BUT. claudia wasnt supposed to live that. that's anne rice's dead daughter for christ sake, and if she did not put it in her story line. there is a reason, because she could have very well decided to and has for multiple others. but not claudia. and i dont think this simply comes from a "she represents her daughter" type of thing, but something about her character. her complexity comes from a multitude of things, and NOT being a victim of SA is a part of that. and they ruined that.

also, it's important to remember that some characters do suffer from those things and that's equally important and makes them more complex. it didnt make claudia more complexity, it just gave her a reason to come back. that's bullshit, if you wanna add that to her storyline, you better treat it with the consideration it deserves, especially since claudia is black in the series. having a black woman (girl actually, which is even worse) be subject to SA is traumatic and should not just serve a tool to "toughen her up", especially when SA is treated in a completely different way in the books.

usually it's depicted as a loss/retaking of control, and that gives the character a more complex understanding of things. whether it's being subjected to or doing the act, that tells you something about the character and their relationship with control (most of the time), whether it's a sex thing or a blood thing (which is extremely related in the books, not as much in the show).

anyways, i think that's it? i have many more thoughts, feel free to add to it because i think it's unfair and should be discussed (with all the respect and consideration it deserves). this is a heavy topic and should be treated as such.

(note: im a white woman and therefore cannot completely understand the whole thing from the perspective of a black woman but i tried to give as much nuance to the conversation as i believe it deserves that. feel free to correct me on anything, i know i did not fully explain the perspective change from a white claudia to a black claudia, but i feel like im not the right person for that. again, feel free to leave your thoughts, this is a safe space for discussions and deferring opinions)

ur totally right that people get narumitsu wrong, ill steal a phrase from pepper analysis of franmaya (another ship people get totally wrong but they explained it better in fewer words djffkj) to say that people often reduce them to sunshine boy and grump (boring dynamic), or worse, seme and uke. people will really write these guys like theyre bad yaoi stereotypes and think its Good just because it made them horny

now i love yaoi. i love porn. i love porn of these guys. but they are the MOST complex characters in the entire series, so reducing them to Just top/bottom for the sake of beating off to it is so. idk frustrating lol

its not all bad though, my buddy bloodofgrapes (hiiii hello grapes) probably produces my favorite nsfw content where bdsm concepts and roles like top/bottom are Intentionally Part Of It, because he actually puts a lot of thought into the dynamic as it pertains to phoenix and miles, rather than just stapling yaoi tropes onto them. the characterization in his comics/fanart is top notch, high recommendation 👌 (obviously this also means the non nsfw content that grapes makes is excellent too, as an aside)

idk if u know who kristoph is, if ive perhaps auts-ed out at u about him before, but he and phoenix make up krisnix, which is my Current ship brainworm. i dont even bother looking up ship content of them because me and pepper are the only people on the planet who understand them apart, and them together. read a fic where (admittedly they werent dating, idr if they had a relationship pre-fic but whatever this is more about the general dynamic) kris abducted, tortured, and like Half Killed phoenix and yknow as much as i feel kris Wants phoenix dead, kris is SO hung up on having phoenix in his life that he could never actually go through with killing phoenix. hed probably kill himself right after djfkfjdja he wouldnt know what to do with himself if phoenix werent around

aside from that one fic, my Dread is that people write it to be this completely one-sided abusive relationship where phoenix is a hapless victim and its up to miles to (somehow) save him by being his Real Love, because a kinder codependent relationship with the "correct" partner is the solution to a mean codependent toxic relationship 🙄 and the thought of that makes me sick to my ass

the thing about krisnix is that its, to quote one of my favorite jokes/lines in vbros, "a game of cat and also cat": there are highs and lows, wins and losses, for both parties because they are worthy adversaries, they are contemporaries. i think kris Does do a lot of shitty toxic things to phoenix, but i dont think phoenix is above giving some of that energy back during the 7 years they know and are circling each other. To Me its very much unhealthy obsession by the blake robinson synthetic orchestra, theyre Definitely stalking each other
