My current headcanon for Námo's and Vairë's meet-cute is that a very awkward young Námo asked Vairë if he can have a ball of wool for his baby brother to play with

Dear Chocolatier,
I am kim_onka at AO3 (I don’t keep very consistent with usernames, but don’t let it confuse you), and I’m looking forward to seeing what you come up with for me :) In the meantime, here is a letter to aid you.
What I like in general, fic-wise:
Exploration of a character’s situation, motivations, relationships with other characters
Internal conflicts, conflicted loyalties, regrets directed towards another person
The power of love and friendship, but also how sometimes it’s not enough
Tragic pasts ;)
Family drama, complicated relationships within family
But also how even so, it’s important and leaves a lasting mark
So you see I gravitate more towards angst, but fluff is also fine, if it’s substantial; preferable taste is bittersweet, I guess
Hope in an apparently hopeless situation
Also fairy tale motifs, fairy tale AUs
AUs in general; not necessarily modern Aus, but AUs in different fandom setting, fairy tale setting, nobility/royalty settings, and plain old canon divergence AUs
Formality, courtesy in personal relations, especially contrasted with strong feelings (applies mainly to nobility settings)
Ballroom dancing
Canon filler, elaboration of minor incidents
Beautiful romance :) (also tragic. But definitely romantic romance ;))
Dedication
Kidfics are appreciated
In truth, I’m fine with most genres
I’m a great fan of good, witty comedy, if you’re feeling up to it
DNWs:
Sexual violence, incest, slash, overly sexual content
Character bashing/demonisation
Sacrilegious/blasphemous content
Overly politicised content, by which I mean content relating to real-life politics; in-universe politics are fine
What I like, art-wise: details! Elaborate hair and clothes, jewellery, symbolism, flowers, emotions, weaponry… pointed elf ears, if you go for elves ;) A couple together, possibly dancing. Or just embracing. I admit I don’t have much of a visual imagination, so I’m not fully sure what I want from art, but for similar reasons I tend to be amazed at art, so I’m sure I’ll like it.
Fandom-specific (fic-wise, mostly):
The Silmarillion: Remember about the family drama and conflicting loyalties? Yeah ;) This mostly goes to Celebrimbor and his relationship with his father/uncles/grandfather. I’d happily see both his relationships with his grandfather – how much does he remember, to what extent is he shaped by Fëanor’s memory?, his uncles – do they stay in touch, what do they think of his actions regarding Curufin? but also the people of Nargothrond, especially after Celegorm and Curufin left. I’m also fascinated by the relationship of Elrond and Elros with Maedhros and Maglor: How much did it cost them to learn to love each other? How did it happen? How much conflict did it create in each of them? How did it affect the boys’ later years? I would also be interested to read about Maglor’s Wife, whatever your vision of her. I’m intrigued by the idea of houseless Elven spirits, how do you imagine them? How do you imagine the Feanturi?
Star Wars: Reylo all the way! AUs are welcome (remember about the fairy tales?), but so are canon explorations of Kylo/Ben’s relationships with Rey, with his parents, how he was corrupted by Snoke (or actually, you-know-who), how they felt about it, how he felt through it all and during the movies. And about Rey, preferably ;)
The Lord of the Rings: All the love stories :) Especially Elrond/Celebrian and Eomer/Lothiriel, the ones we know the least about, and Faramir/Eowyn, the perfect couple. In Aragorn/Arwen I’m somewhat less invested, but if we add in Elrond and Gilraen, it could be very interesting. On the other hand, childhood, youth, friendship between Eomer, Eowyn and Theodred.
Discworld: I’m a great fan of Pratchett’s brand of humour and his characters… otherwise, sorry, I don’t have a prompt, for you. Let your imagination run wild ;)
Thank you and have fun with the exchange!

Headcanon: Námo is surprisingly good with children. Whenever he interacts with them, be it fëar in his halls or elven children in Valinor, he's friendly and gentle and comforts them.
He learned how to do this while raising Irmo together with Nienna.

☽ Late Night Musings - Irmo & Estë ☾

The reason why Estë and Irmo work so well together and have such a beautiful realm is, simply put:
Irmo = mental health
Estë = physical health
And the interesting thing is that Irmo isn't even necessarily or primarily a healer. He's a Fëantur first and foremost, he could just sit in ghostly halls and deal with spirits or be in people's dreams all day. But instead he chooses to assist his wife and help people, to the point that he's become associated with rest and healing as well.
I think he really wanted to help, heal and bring some joy and whimsy into the world and found a perfect partner in Estë who was more than happy to pursue this goal together with him. She taught Irmo a lot about healing which includes the function of bodies - something that was probably rather strange to him as a Fëantur at first - and he contributed his knowledge of spiritual and mental matters to form a team that can fix pretty much everything together.
When we read about Irmo, Estë and Lórien at first, we may be tempted to read it as the "classic"/traditional "the woman does the healing, and her man runs the place" dynamic. But in light of what I said above, I have a different reading to suggest:
Basically, Estë is the world's best doctor and decided she wants to run a hospital and rehab center to help people in need, and Irmo shares this goal and decided to help her make her dream come true (pun intended). I love to think that he is fiercely supportive of his family members in general and delights in seeing others succeed - never jealous, never bothered by the fact that his siblings are held in higher regard, never threatened by his wife's accomplishments.
No wonder the Gardens of Lórien are the fairest place in the world - because there is nothing fairer than such a loving and supportive relationship.

I bet Irmo can enter and exit the Halls of Mandos as he pleases and he uses this ability to visit Námo at the most random times. Námo can never quite decide if he's annoyed or touched by these surprise visits.
Nienna might be able to do this as well since she often takes care of the fëar in Mandos.
