I just finished rewatching Season 1 of "9-1-1" in English - First time I watched it in Italian - and I want to write down some comments/favorites scenes of each episode.

1x01

- No one could stand Buck, it's hilarious, but deep down they loved him 🥺

- Athena hated Buck for like 0,4 seconds before changing her mind 😂

- Abby was already boring since episode one.

- You can see Buck already growing and understanding his mistakes in this episode which it rarely happens on tv shows.

1x02

- Bobby and Athena already being dad and mom of the firehouse. The little hug Bobby gives her 🥲

- Carla my beloved ❤

- May was so small 😭

- Bobby and Buck's speech 😥

- The cliffhanger, my days 😱

1x03

- Chimney storyline was so sad, poor baby 😢

- The last scene at the hospital is so touching, it really shows how close the 118 fam is 😭

- Athena going after May's bully 💥

- The plane crush rescue is beautiful and touching ✈

- Bobby asking Han and Buck for help 😭

- The way Abby leaves Buck is deevastating: he was so in love with her and she only used him. Yes, the relationship helped both (Abby to get out of her routine, and Buck to understand commitiment to other person) but then she just used him. She really mistreated him. Poor baby 😢

- Mom Athena and Dad Bobby. So beautiful, they deserve nothing but love 😭😍🥰

I havent watched it yet, but my biggest fear for the FAM finale was that the writers looked at what they had done in 1x09 and thought yeah thats a complete arc for Ellen and Pam, we don't need to do any more with that. From the few hints of spoilers it seems like maybe that's the case? You'd think after years of being disappointed by writers this wouldn't hit hard, but I really can't get over the fact that they made so many rich characters only to.....let them down like this? To not even give them screen time? To not let them live their stories?

It did not even occur to me that they could possibly think that was complete but yeah. 

I think it’s a harder letdown when you actually were trusting them to do better? Season 1 was kind of soapy at times too but you trusted them to have heart and put characters first and this season didn’t really pay off in that way. 

I do understand that planning this show out is far more complicated than others, you have to think about the trajectory of their lifetime, of beyond even. Create an ep plot, a season plot, a series plot, for every character, weave them together, AND account for the alternate history they’re trying to write in, but I don’t think it’s a challenge they really succeeded on this season? I feel they grabbed onto the conflict with the Russians in space to build it around and had to force a lot of other things to get it to work...and it didn’t, fully.

I take the line from Carlos meaning what you said- that it explains how/why TK makes the decisions he does. Clearly he never had parents he could freely go to for advice or when he did they made it about them (like Owen did in 1x09) (which in turn could have lead to the issues with addiction and previously bad choices in men). So he’s went through life making bad choices and then having to deal with whatever happens. He’s clearly getting better at asking for advice from his boyfriend and 126 fam, but Carlos in my mind is acknowledging that he can see where it comes from.

you worded it so much better here, because yeah, that’s what i was thinking!!! especially since right before that line we see tk directly stating that he doesn’t think his parents are perfect, so we’re starting to see more of what he went through as a kid to shape who he is now.

The 100 Rewatch - All Seasons Ranked

1️⃣ Season 5: 9.5/10

▪️What was good:

Everything BLODREINA

The conflicts between characters were intriguing and well developed

How cool were new characters??? (by that I mean Diyoza and Madi, obviously)

It was refreshing to see new bonds/alliances: Spacekru fam (Raven/Murphy/Emori or Bellamy/Echo), Wonkru stans (Octavia/Miller/Nylah), Clarke/Madi, etc.

How did they manage to pull off decent plot twists in almost every episode?

▪️What was bad:

Let's rush Raven into a relationship because why not

Why didn't we get an episode of Spacekru flashbacks like we did of Clarke/Madi and Wonkru?

Blowing up Earth once again is starting to get old...

Finn & Anya's deaths as a ´no one's safe on this show' reminder

▪️What was bad:

Really? Another underdeveloped love interest for Raven?

Not enough scenes of Mount Weather kru (Jasper+Monty+Harper+Miller+Fox+etc)

Jaha, Murphy & Co's journey to the CoL was dragged across too many episodes

THAT JAHA & BABY EPISODE, WHAT WAS THAT?

▪️What was good:

Simple easy-to-understand plot (basically finding a solution to a big problem) that allowed more time for character development & interactions

More screentime for the grounders, which is always a good idea - Echo&Emori&Indra&Roan&Luna thank you for existing!

They did a great job at showing that the concept of 'antagonist' is very relative as the protagonists are forced into an alliance with Azgeda

The season finale was epically epic

▪️What was bad:

Octavia and Illian WHY COULDN'T THEY JUST BE BUDDIES

Luna going psycho in the Conclave without a heads up - it would have been nice to have a hint or something in a previous episode...

Raven spending more than half of the season in the lab was not so fun (don't get me wrong, her storyline was great BUT they dragged it across too many episodes)

Time dialation in the different planets is such a cool concept! (>>time travel)

So far they have been successful at making us care about most of the new characters (Hope & Nikki Bang Bang are so cool!)

▪️What is bad:

What is this Raven redemption storyline? Completely unnecessary at this point...

No main character has died YET - it's the final season & we're ready for some shocking/emotional deaths!

Yet another love interest for Octavia?? SINGLE & HAPPY AREN'T INCOMPATIBLE, PEOPLE! *let's pretend we didn't see Jordan flirting with Raven*

▪️Favorite episodes:🥇 Hesperides (7x04)🥈The garden (7x02)🥉The queen's gambit (7x07)

5️⃣ Season 3: 6.5/10

▪️What was good:

Smart writing overall

They had us REALLY stanning the team plotting against Pike (Kane, Miller, Harper, Octavia, Abby)

ALLIE's recruitment process was terrifyingly amazing

▪️What was bad:

They did a poor job of connecting and transitioning between the Pike plot and the ALLIE plot, they simply took turns dedicating an episode to one or the other towards the middle of the season EVEN THOUGH everything was happening in Arkadia

Too much blood/graphic violence, even for this show

Things happened too quickly, characters were 'transformed' with no/very little build-up

While the rest of the deaths had a significant impact (whether you liked them or not), Sinclair's was a filler as it did not seem to affect the plot

▪️What was good:

The first couple of episodes with team explorers & team spaceship (I was all in for the Raven-Diyoza-Madi trio) were SO promising

The Clarke/Josephine scenes were GOLD - were we supposed to like Josephine that much?

Raven, Murphy & Co giving Clarke shit for her actions in S5 was satisfying

▪️What was bad:

Raven & Echo didn't even get a storyline and Indra was gone pretty much all season

Kane & Abby's deaths weren't as meaningful/emotional as they could have been - after S5 their deaths made a lot of people happy

The Octavia & Diyoza arc was dragged across too many episodes

Body-snatching isn't very original & the Primes plot wasn't really trascendent since they almost all died by the end of the season

The finale was dissapointing, there was no tension whatsoever

Is it a scifi show or a teenage drama with love triangles & cheesy lines?

The special effects & spooky transitions were not very impressive

Most characters felt very one-dimensional

They never explained why Lincoln sided with the delinquents? All we got was: well he drew Octavia in his notebook so he's good!

*top 5 magnum pi episodes and why?

oh this is a hard one

for magnum im actually pretty bad at picking episodes and not just moments bc i totally watch the show for more than just the ship ha what so here's my top 5 for today because i can't really decide lol

1x19 - i feel like this isn’t most people’s #1 but i just love this episode. im a sucker for half of my ship in danger trope and this is one of the few times in the series that its higgins in danger. i love their banter, i love the rest of the crew hunting for them, i love love love the flashbacks to them first meeting, and i just love the aesthetic of the episode? 

2x08 - yo this episodeeeee. first big test magnum and higgins have as business partners and they pass? with flying colors?? magnums FACE when he realizes he hurt her feelings is everything, higgins roasting him all episode instead of telling him what's wrong is comical, and their end scene when they make up is iconic. iconic i tell you.

2x03 - ok you knew this was coming. need i say more?? as much as magnum pi is a ~mystery action show~ i’m rarely on the edge of my seat during episodes. this one tho?!? whew. besides the obvious partner scene at the end, i love the way he remembers higgins is listening to the battle of hastings, knows what the battle teaches, and implements it. i love me some kumu and higgins bonding, i love the team up of everyone saving magnum at the end, and i loved the suspense

1x09 - this is the episode where they help amanda sako (the kidnapping victim). this is probably the first episode i felt really solidified magnum and higgins partnership. they are such a team in this episode. i loved seeing higgins bond with amanda and i loooved magnum bonding with her. also higgins gets a much more in depth look at magnum and why he is who he is and i just really love that? if i had to pick one episode to be a character study of magnum it would be this one

1x15 - ok ok not a big hannah fan obviously but this episode is super intense and really good. this is another really good partner episode for magnum and higgins and it finally answered the looming question in s1 of who broke magnums heart (and why they were captured...u suck hannah.) the hospital scene at the end is such a great set up for miggy and again lets higgins see even more of magnum (’handle with care’ like you really gonna come at me with that tiva vibe ok). also the shot of higgins walking past hannah to magnum is *chefs kiss*

(honorable mentions: 2x12 (crossover ep, blanket scene, not so subtle convos and flirty dancing), 2x06 (abby WHO??), & 1x20 (ohana fam off the grid leggo)

....ok so y'all should really know better than to ask me why because i will rant for hours but tysm for this ask! yall tell me which ones are your favorite (i know @hpfangirl13 is gonna yell at me for 2x03 being 3rd lol)

i was thinking again about the evolution and parallels of rayla’s self loathing, and how one of the things that made me so confident following s3 that the arc wasn’t finished was 3x08 + 3x09’s parallels with 1x09

some i and others have pointed out in the past, namely

but something else that was occurring to me. namely, that each season gives her a “second chance” to “make up for” whatever she perceives her failure to be. 

zym’s egg nearly rolls off the cliff in 1x09. rayla runs after it and nearly goes over it herself, catching him with her injured arm. in 3x08 rayla struggles with the weight of her parent’s legacy and believes that if she dies in their place, she’ll just be paying the price they should have paid a long time ago. and in 3x09, she tackles viren off the cliff and is prepared to die. 

but as her make up from 1x09 shows, no manner of achievement - being called a good friend, successfully protecting zym, or being declared a worthy dragonguard - is enough to get rid of the self loathing issues she’s had. throughout the first three seasons, she’s directly in her parents’ shadow - tiadrin, lain, and runaan’s - and it’s only at the end of season three that she’s allowed to follow in good footsteps of lain and tiadrin. but she’s still following in someone’s footsteps.

she hasn’t carved her own unique path quite yet, to its fruition, the way that callum - connecting to an arcanum - or ezran - “i don’t have to be the type of king my father was” - have. instead, she has one more parent’s path to follow - to truly break free from. 

and when rayla callum wants to move on, even once the mission drastically changes a result and offers a path of inner peace, rayla and runaan refuse out of anger fear of what could happen still - and what has already happened.

[aka part of the initial mission is gone, but one of the core threats still remains, so it must be carried out - no matter what. sound familiar?]

this is her next cycle to break. 

and no one can break it for her but herself, at the end of the day.

1x09 Chapter Nine: La Grande Illusion

Hello fellow Bombshells, I apologize for the absence, my cousin’s wedding was this past weekend so I’ve been off celebrating and what not. But fear not cause I am back and what better episode to be back with than this very Cheryl-centric episode, yay!!

Thicker than blood, more precious than oil. Riverdale's big business, is maple syrup.

This episode focuses around the Blossom family business and inheritance now that Jason is gone. We finally get to explore Cheryl’s story in detail and I think this is when we begin to see why Cheryl is the way she is. 

In our opening montage, we get a glimpse of Cheryl in this rather simple outfit involving her black crop ribbed leather jacket, a black choker, her red/burgundy spider brooch and a burgundy shift dress. Not much to say about this other than the whole Blossom family is wearing black and burgundy, Cheryl is part of the fam here.

Idk how they’re not wearing tights, I would literally be dying. Jeez. Anywaaaays, they are solemnly waiting for the arrival of the Blossom clan all in red prints. Cheryl is wearing her burgundy gloves from 1x07 when they went on the hunt for Polly. Her red spider brooch is prominently in place. I’m not 100% positive but her blazer appears to be a cropped bluish-gray item that matches her skirt well. 

The underneath part as show at school! This is a simple red turtleneck and this skirt, hmmm. It is so similar to one she wore recently in episode 4x06. I noticed it as I was going through my screenshots for this episode, I find it fascinating however because 4x06 is the first appearance of Aunt Cricket and Uncle Bedford since this episode, 1x09! How fantastic is that subtle nod. 

Wild. 

On a final note about this outfit, this is the first appearance of Cheryl’s red flame heels and certainly not the last. I think in this episode they show her fierce loyalty to the Blossom name. 

Oh, the exclusive maple tapping. This episode obviously tells us that Riverdale is presumably in the northernmost part of America as it has obvious Canadian ties throughout (and is filmed in Canada). But, it is very obvious in this episode. As for Cheryl’s maple tapping outfit, she has on large black stone earrings with crystal trim and her black spider brooch. A black turtleneck to keep warm since tights were apparently forbidden for her in this episode.

Ugh, her cloak. The hood and the flow, the little red riding hood vibes, I’m obsessed. Just as V looks amazing in her black cape, Cheryl was meant for this cloak. Under the turtleneck is this tight, rounded black dress with red trims. I love her red and black checked gloves. Her boots are black leather or possibly rain boots. Regardless, she looks adorable albeit a little cold. 

Can we pause for a moment of appreciation for Penelope’s pants? They’re. dope. Also, weird family picture. 

Mmm, the next night, Cheryl rolls up to Archie’s house, gift in hand. A nice ass guitar. Cheryl’s family definitely seems the type to show gratitude with lavish gifts, even when it feels unwarranted, much the way the Lodges do as well. But, as for the outfit, I like it. I love the detail on the shoulder of her black sweater. Her earrings are tiny black ear jackets and her simple black choker adorns her neck, weirdly loosely. The silver bracelet ties in nicely to her crystal shoulder detail.

Cute simple red skirt. And a weird cheek kiss. The vibes of this episode were all kinds of off although I appreciate the color vibe through Cheryl’s lipstick, skirt, and bow on the guitar case. She’s quite literally brought the Blossom presence into the Andrews home.

Blink and you might miss it. This scene was very brief but had big consequences leading to the end of Valerie and Archie to make room for Varchie. But, oh man. THAT SKIRT. One of my top Cheryl items, I love that skirt and it is paired later with one of my favorite outfits ever (hint: see my profile picture.) I always found it funny how this outfit is the exact opposite coloring of the one from the night before, a clear switch in attitude from sickly sweet to conniving. It’s more or less the same silhouette, even with a detailed shoulder, but turned on its head color wise. Fascinating. Her black spider brooch makes an appearance as well as this amazing embellished lace up choker that we will see in more detail in future episodes.

The Blossom Banquet. Oh man, Cheryl in an emerald green dress. I have words. First of all, Cheryl is wearing heavy red throughout the episode until this moment. Then nothing. There is heavy symbolism here in that Cheryl knows her parent’s motives are not pure and she feels uneasy under the Blossom name. Her stark contrast to her parents in this scene is illuminating but subtle. As for the dress, I think it is beautiful and refreshing to see her in another color!

Her hair is heavily pulled to one side with a crystal bobby pin, her bracelets and choker are sparkling in the snow and all pull together for an amazing wintery formal look. Her are earrings are fairly simple and don’t take away from her hair and choker. I love the cut of the dress as well and the slit that I will highlight in a moment. I’d like to come back to this dress in my analysis of 1x11 as well.

The lace up back is STUNNING and this entire screencap is just hauntingly gorgeous, holy shit. 

Okay, I spent a long ass time attempting to screencap her shoes and slit. I believe the shoes are black with some sort of wrapped ankle strap, it’s hard to tell but I love it all together regardless. 

Cheryl on the murder board, cute. 

And we end the episode in a place we are all too familiar, Cheryl in her bedroom in this black floral velvet robe. This time, she is not having an emotional girl talk with V but rather emotionally scribbling out Archie and Polly from the aforementioned weird family photo. Note, her makeup looks so cute here.

Yikes. Love her nails though and use of a red sharpie, lol.

I believe she might have on a black silk cami and shorts set because of the way she is sitting. Red spider brooch and black choker, check. Black fluffy heeled sandals, also check. Still love this vibe.

Hi, I’m emotional but fine. Mood.
