GaaSaku 2023 FanFest Day1

Promt: Punch me/BAMF

He certainly hadn’t expected this.

Even in his recent months spent as the newly elected fifth Kazekage of Sunagakure, there were still few of Gaara’s people that approached him so boldly, and even fewer foreigners. It used to be his quiet and foreboding presence that kept others at a distance, but now that he’d softened around the edges, it was his grand title and honored standing that sat him at a pinnacle other’s thought beyond approach. In the past, eyes were cast down in fearful respect, now it was done with wise recognition.

Either way, direct gazes avoided him all the same, and it felt no different.

But this…this was different.

Sakura Haruno stood at the front of a gathering of fresh-faced genin all lined up in neat rows under the morning sun. She was center of them all and held the front spot in her line; a tall stance, shoulders squared, warm light shining on pale skin, eyes bright and facing straight ahead, straight at him.

On this arid and calm desert day, Gaara had arrived at the training grounds of Suna not twenty minutes prior; he had guests to welcome.

The bi-annual chunin exams were about to get underway, and Sunagakure had been chosen as the host city. It had been nearly two decades since the exams had been held here, and Gaara was keen on showcasing their growth in not only their military, but in their infrastructure as well. The passing of his father shifted the city’s focus from exponential military growth to more domestically centered focuses; improving education and academy access, repairs to their extensive systems of aqueducts that quenched the thirsty populous, upgrades to their medical facilities, and much more.

His people were happier, daily hardships were easing back just a little, and the city certainly breathed differently now than it had in his childhood. He was proud, he wanted to boast their accomplishments with confidence and pride, but now he suddenly felt…anxious?

“Could you repeat that, Sakura?”

“I said I’d like to spar,” she said again without hesitation, the slightest hinting of an upturn pulling at the corner of her lips. Her eyes hadn’t left his, his tongue was going dry, and just as that time in the forest, he was unshakably locked on those bright, dazzling emerald eyes.

He recognized those stood behind her as Shikamaru’s old team, it seemed that Sakura made the perfect match for them without Sasuke and Naruto to join her, but the incredulous look plastered across their faces was mirrored by most other genin in attendance. Here she stood; in line with all the other contestants, still at the bottom rung of the ladder through the ranks, and she had asked the Kage of the Wind nation for a spar.

He had only just finished his welcome to the contestants, encouraging them to make themselves at home and use any training grounds permitted to them as they saw fit, and hadn’t yet offered to answer any questions when she had stepped forward. It was as if no one else were present when she flashed a polite smile his way, thinly veiled by that mischievous look in her eyes, and asked if he could spare her some time. It was such a direct question, from effectively the last person he’d assumed would ask, that he paused his speech, his words failing him for a moment.

“I apologize,” he began, taking the opportunity to practice his manners. “But I am a busy man.”

She shrugged, still holding his eyes with her own, and he couldn’t tell if the sun had kissed her face just a little or maybe the heat was getting to her, but she looked slightly flushed. “I can be patient.”

He remembered she and Ino pit against each other before; an unfortunate matchup that perhaps tempted them to pull their punches against old friends. He had certainly found it mundane and unexceptional to watch. Either way, her strength may have been lacking at that time, but her tenacity had been clearly on display when she’d intervened between himself and Sasuke. It hadn’t stopped him, but it had slowed him down, clouded his thinking, and he was sure it was ultimately what saved the Uchiha’s life that day.

But she stood before him today a rebuilt and remade individual; there was confidence to her poise, an elegance to the way her high chin emphasized her neck, and her captivating gaze contained a knowing quality that left echoes of intrigue resonating through his body. She had seen him fight, she had seen him break bones and draw blood, she had even faced him and lived to tell the tale. Not many in her position had been able to say the same, and now she was essentially asking for a rematch in front of everyone.

He hadn’t mean to, but he heard himself reply, “All right,” before continuing with his welcoming address. The genin all bent an ear to listen, but he could tell that her public and very unconventional request had them distracted. It was a good thing he had gone over his talking points once again before starting, he was getting rather distracted as well.

Those eyes hadn’t left him, sparkling in the sunlight and bejeweled as they were, and no matter where he put his focus on the gathered crowd, he could still feel the weight of them on him. Where his palms getting sweaty?

It didn’t matter, he was finished with his piece as the head seat of the city and turned them over to Shikamaru who had come to explain the layout of the exams. Stepping aside, he was freed from her gaze as she gave the new speaker her attention and was allowed to more comfortably observe the curious happenings of his morning.

She stood just as proudly before Shikamaru as she had him, no longer the shuddering leaf that had been frightful of so many of their opponents before. His mind’s eye didn’t have the clearest picture of her back then, he’d found her so overlookable when outshined by her teammates, but he couldn’t overlook how inviting her figure had become, or how he found that he preferred the length that was returning to her hair, and how mature and defined the roundness of her face had gotten. She stood a bit taller now, they all did, and he could tell the definition of her muscles reflected the work she’d done to allow such confidence worn across her face.

Could a few years really change that much?

He’d been stared down quite enough since the start of the genin address, and he wondered how different he looked from her perspective. Had his stature reflected the improvements he’d undergone? Did his face look more mature as well or, now a little self-conscious, did he still look to be a boy wearing his father’s robes? With no necessity for it, he’d forgone most of the usual strength training done by those in their profession, but his fight with Lee had incentivized him to train otherwise; was it noticeable at all? He suddenly found himself conscious of his posture, second guessing the expression he wore, and found it difficult to keep his eyes from sliding back to this unexpected distraction.

Even after she had glanced his way, catching him mid-stare, he’d only looked away for a moment.

Soon, too soon given how he’d yet to find the words, the genin were all dismissed and gradually went their separate ways. A few senseis had approached him with a question or two, gratitude for hosting the exams, the typical formalities he’d been expecting, but in truth he’d only half paid attention to anything they said and whatever he strung together in reply. Again, he could feel those eyes on him, an itching in the back of his mind that made his pulse throb in his throat and an unfamiliar anxiousness to settle in his limbs.

Of course, he shouldn’t have been surprised when she walked up to him the moment he was free, her first words just some regurgitated pleasantries that the others had already said. Perhaps it wasn’t the approach that had surprised him, maybe it had been how favorable he found that sweet and warm scent of vanilla that clung to her skin, or how it was his own heart that was beginning to race against his chest.

He'd nodded to her gratitude, though by the look in her eyes he could tell that she knew he hadn’t listened to her words, nor looked her in the eyes as she said them. Something about the way her lips moved when she spoke to him was diverting his attention. “What are you hoping to achieve?” he asked, perhaps sounding a little standoffish due to his very real apprehension.

She shrugged, her eyes holding his gaze captive. “I just want to see,” she offered innocently enough, though the knuckle crack he’d heard from her gloved hand was anything but.

The clear challenge in her eyes stirred him. It had been months since someone provoked him like this, and they hadn’t been keen on his abilities like Sakura was; their arrogance had been born of ignorance and Gaara couldn’t help but wonder what her’s was born from. He tried not to smirk with his next words, though he failed, and returned her challenge in kind. “See how long you’ll last trying to hit me?” he goaded, the dignified tone of the Kazekage melting away as if to playfully deride her.

“No,” she refuted firmly, thought that sly expression still blessed her features. He could tell now that the sun hadn’t been the thing to kiss that color across her face, it had been a subtle flush across her skin, one that grew deeper when that smirk of his had slipped. Flushed or not, she was still fiery. “To see how long it takes me to hit you.”

Another unexpected outcome of his morning, another smirk he felt pull at his features, and this time she did break her gaze away from him, brushing her hair behind her ears and attempting to downplay her blush.

“Well,” he said, his tone casual. “Let’s go.” He began walking off to a more distant end of the training grounds, an area he specifically hadn’t set aside for visitor use.

She followed quickly after him, he could feel the steps she took atop the sandy earth, and he wondered how someone as petit and light of foot as her thought to approach him with such a bold request. “I thought you were a busy man,” she said, not wanting to sound displeased but wanting to convey that, yes; she did in fact know that he had other – more important – things to attend.

“I am,” Gaara agreed, looking over to Sakura who came to walk in line at his side. Again, he tried a smirk, wanting to see if it gave her skin that same rouge as before. It had, and she’d yet again avoided his eyes for a second. “But I don’t believe that you’re a patient woman.”

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, seafoam green eyes slowly opened. Sakura and the others watched in amazement as he slowly sat up, looking around with confusion and wonder. The wind had died down, and the air was still and calm, as if nature knew that something momentous had just occurred.

Naruto rushed to Gaara's side, and Temari was hugging her brother, tears streaming down their faces. Sakura felt a lump form in her throat as she watched the scene unfold.

I stan NaruHina hard even to this day (though I delete all the burrito content from my brain) and I always will.

You know that stuff like Sakura in Naruto: The Last saying she was too good for him must've happened all the time with their friends and Hinata’s family and that's not even touching the whole 'hyuga heiress vs urchin street rat demon boy' thing they had going for most of their childhoods.

But she didn't give a single god damn, she was the only one in that village who appreciated Naruto without having to be prompted by him gutsy-ninjaing his way into her good graces via hard work and prolonged exposure. She thought the world of him from the get go, she thought he was great and she was so lucky.

And I think, I am so tearfully glad that Naruto got that in a partner at the end, that he got someone who would make him feel loved and who would never hesitate to state their admiration for him. Someone who he got that kind of positivity about himself from.

I just, he's got such a thick skin but he spends the whole series being insulted by allies and enemies alike (with plenty of praise in between let’s be real he was mc for a reason) and then there's Hinata and she's just like seeing him as a person and wanting to do her best because he motivates her and shit.

WILL I EVER BE OVER THE DYNAMIC? NAY

Remember in the chuunin exams when NOBODY but NOBODY thought he had a chance against Neji? Not even Naruto really? Like he’s walking to the stadium and you can see his nerves on his face. And then he runs into her, because despite being injured she’s shown up early to wish him luck and give him ointment to use on any bruises he has.

She's the only one in the entire village to wish him luck and tell him he can do it and he's just, never had that kind of unconditional kindness before? Like bonds have always been something Naruto's had to earn, work for, but she's just there. And she gave him courage when no one else was bothered to.

And then she does it again! In the middle of the fourth war when everything's on his shoulders and everyone's depending on Naruto and you can see a trace of unease on his face and then Hinata grabs his hand, and gives him courage. Unasked for, unconditional support. For an orphan who grew up unloved with none of that. FUCK.

I'm still pissed she had little to no development in shippuden and I largely blame it on the fact that Kishimoto was undecided on the final pairings because NaruSaku was popular, like that scene when Naruto tells edo tensei Minato that Sakura's his girlfriend and Minato tells her to please go easy on his son? Pandering or weighing his options I don't know but regardless the final ships suffered big time for the indecision.

And Hinata's characterisation additionally suffered for her being so limited in screentime which made the relationship feel less equal. But these are quibbles, the ship is solid to me.

I mean don't get me started on the whole Pein fight.

Like yes it would be cool if we got to see more of her personality in canon and more of what was going on with her and Neji after Sasuke left and the hyuga clan and everything, yes I crave that and wish we'd gotten bamf Hinata moments.

But like the core of her character for me is unimpeachable because she's somewhere Naruto can rest also the parallels between the affection she offers and the affection Naruto’s blood family offers during the seal release scene with the chakra imprints finally talking to him and telling him they loved him are very real and I have feelings about all of it.

Anyway no shade to people who hate the ship for whatever reason, but in this one specific case, the canon pairing is OTP for me.

Hinata’s love for Naruto and the idea of Naruto getting to carefully let himself be surrounded by feelings we all know he considers precious? Amazing.

Sometimes i think about how every jedi choice that was supposed to be a Choice wasn't offered to Anakin, like when to get knighted/face his knight trials, the council decided to promote him early when he was still mid padawan age, who to choose as his padawan, I love ahsoka but she was assigned to anakin mid mission while again he was still traditional padawan aged, what kind of jedi he wanted to be? Assigned war general.

Like obviously Anakin came into the jedi order with a heavy dose of culture shock from the restrictive lifestyle that was so different even from his experience of slavery.

And by that I mean; suddenly it wasn't "do this do that or I'll blow you and your mother up" with no care for his thoughts about it either way, suddenly it was you're full of fear which means you're dark which means you're close to the path of evil, suddenly it was a character flaw to feel angry at all regardless of how he expressed it. (Unless he expressed it to a receptive and encouraging Palpatine of course but that's another issue) But I feel like all that sudden sense of restriction, that culture shock that never quite left him was definitely compounded, by the lack of personal choices that coloured his life with the order.

Even things that would've been choices for other Jedi were decided for him by the council, in one way it makes sense as he was the chosen one who's path they were heavily involved with and who they wanted to anchor in the light, but in another broader way it's clear it makes everything worse.

You ever think about how shisui probably started doing shunshin all the time because the 4th hokage was the coolest person ever when he and Itachi where growing up? And 'playing ninja' back then probably meant someone got to be the yellow flash. I just think it's super cute that Shisui may have been a yellow flash fanboy and based his fighting style on him a little bit.

Chapter Summary: Even after watching for so long, Sasuke is amazed by the whole process. He has never had occasion or interest to watch the medic ninja treat the wounded or ill, at least not with such a procedure.

Chapter Beta: None beyond my own two eyes and editing software at the moment.

Author’s Note: I am not a doctor, I know nothing about biology, everything I know comes from Grey’s Anatomy and a copious amount of internet research. So anything that doesn’t make sense…it’s ninja magic, okay? Also, a reminder that the abilities in this fic are not perfectly compliant with canon abilities and possibly don’t follow the same logic. It’s an AU, I claim creative license :P

Everyone follows Sakura into the cloth enclosure she has set up, Sasuke sees that several wards have been drawn on the ground in a circle. The symbols resemble chakra seals, but he has never seen these before.

“It limits the number of foreign germs and bacteria in the clean area,” she explains when she perceives his gaze. “Obviously it’s not as effective as an actual surgery, but it will have to do tonight.” She offers an impish grin. “It’s similar to what Mito-sama might have used, so at least we’re in keeping with tradition.”

“Hopefully not too much in keeping,” Tenzō remarks blandly.

Sasuke frowns at him, still not entirely convinced of the importance of his presence here. “Why exactly is he necessary for keeping the jinchūriki safe?”

“You don’t have to talk about me like I’m not here,” Naruto mutters.

Sasuke shoots him a pointed look. “A demon inside you should make you the least likely person here to come to harm. We’re the ones who ought to be worried.”

“The Kyūbi that was sealed within me spent its entire existence hated and feared by men, exploited and used for its power,” Naruto explains sombrely. “It’s taken at least two generations for it to even consider trusting me enough to lend chakra. Even with that being the case, it’s sometimes too much for me and I lose control.”

“If that should happen, Yamato-taichō will stop it,” Sakura concludes.

Sasuke narrows his eyes. “And does this loss of control happen often?”

“Not as much as when I was a kid,” Naruto says with a small chuckle, rubbing the back of his head ruefully.

Itachi and Sasuke exchange wary glances. Sakura notes this, and scoffs. “It doesn’t matter. Naruto is only insurance—I’m the one expending chakra here, not him. You were worried about the safety of this, and I’ve provided at least two fail safes. If that doesn’t make you worry less, there’s not point to us being here tonight.”

A challenge rings in her words.

“You’re right, Sakura-san,” Itachi says, tone coolly polite in the presence of others. “We have already risked much to meet tonight, it would be a pointless exercise if we didn’t continue with it.”

She bows her head, then raises an eyebrow at Sasuke, as if to ask if he’s satisfied. He nods.

Apparently validated, Sakura brusquely orders Itachi and Sasuke to disrobe and lie on the pallets that she has prepared for them. While they do that, she tells the woman—Ayame, Sasuke recalls—to fetch her several buckets of water and her father Teuchi to stoke up the fire.

“This is a minimally invasive procedure, but we are disposing of deadened cells. They must be destroyed as soon as I extract them,” Sakura explains to them. “I’ll do my best not to come in direct contact with any genetic material. If I’m unable to avoid it, though, may I have your permission to handle your blood?”

“We would not be here if you did not already have that permission,” Itachi informs her quietly.

“Thank you.”

From a small kit of medical instruments nearby, Sakura brings out a tiny pouch of earth coloured capsules and removes two. She hands them to Sasuke.

“These are stimulants,” she explains to him. “They will increase the amount of blood in your system—and thus bone marrow. The more we have, the easier it will be to extract.” Sasuke tosses them back, swallowing them dry, but still winces at the taste that hits the back of his tongue. “You need to lie still now. Your blood cells will multiply and get thicker, which will cause some side-effects—dizziness, headache, shortness of breath…it’s all normal. But if you notice anything like that, you have to tell me. All right?”

Sasuke nods.

“Don’t just agree and decide to tough it out,” she warns him. “Thick blood has the potential to cause a stroke. You are not to die under my care, do you hear me?”

“Heh, she knows you all right,” Naruto sniggers, and then gives a sharp cry when Sakura reaches out and smacks him. “Hey!”

“You antagonising him will not help!” she snaps. “Make yourself useful! You and Yamato-taishō are to keep an eye out for any sign that things aren’t going well, understand?”

“Understood,” Naruto gulps, as she turns to Kakashi.

“And you…you weren’t expected, but you can still be of use,” she informs him. “I assume you have some medical training, yes?”

“Enough to handle trauma in the field,” Kakashi allows; Sasuke suspects it’s impossible to be such close friends to Rin and not pick up a few skills.

“Skills like what? Stitching up wounds with twine or putting in a catheter?” she challenges.

“Either, if I have to.”

“Good. Then wash up and be ready to assist me if I need another pair of hands,” she tells him, reaching for the two large buckets that Ayame brings her. One is filled to the brim with water while the other is empty. Settling down between her two patients, Sakura leans over to meet Itachi’s gaze. “I’m going to begin to process to extract all the unhealthy bone marrow in your body. This is a long procedure, and excrucaitingly painful. I will have to put you to sleep.”

“No,” Itachi says right away, earning a glare.

“I don’t have time for stubborn Uchiha men,” she snaps. “I’m a healer, not a torturer. You cannot be screaming during this procedure—and yes, you will scream, I don’t care how much of a legendary of a warrior you are.” She extracts a tiny vial from her hip-pack. “This will knock you out for the next eight hours and you will take it right now.”

Itachi scowls, but does as he is told. Sasuke can’t help being a little amused at the sight of his brother being bossed around by the tiny medic.

“You’re not used to people saying ‘no’ to you, are you?” Itachi mutters as his eyelids flutter shut, and he goes still on his pallet.

“You’ll thank me for that,” Sakura tells the unconscious man, a grim smile on her face. She explains to Sasuke, “It’s not just the pain of the extraction I’m hoping to spare him. I have to keep any healing to a minimum during the procedure.”

“Why?”

“Medical ninjutsu mostly involves regenerating cells,” Kakashi interjects. “If you regenerate the same cells you just got rid of, you’ll be here forever.”

Sakura nods. “And the longer we have to repeat the process, the more likely it is we could trigger shock or sepsis.”

“And if that happens?” Sasuke challenges.

“Then we treat him—minimally—and start over from whatever stage of the process we’re in,” Sakura says. “It’s not ideal…but it’s all we can do with what we have.”

Everyone is silent, and the atmosphere of the room is heavy with tension.

“This is your last opportunity to stop this,” she goes on seriously. “Once I start…I won’t be able to stop without seriously compromising his health.”

Sasuke turns his head to study his brother’s face, peaceful in his unconsciousness. He wants to see that untroubled expression for many years yet.

“Begin,” he tells her.

Time passes, although Sasuke isn’t entirely sure of how much. The symptoms Sakura warned him about—dizziness and a pounding headache—make thinking a chore. All he can do is watch as she works on his brother, her face set in a permanent frown of effort.

There is a seal drawn on Itachi’s chest, right across his sternum, and encircled by similar warding characters to those which surround the two pallets. They gleam occasionally in the firelight, with the same blue-green shine of Sakura’s chakra, no doubt fighting off foreign bodies as she works. Even after watching for so long, Sasuke is amazed by the whole process. He has never had occasion or interest to witness a medic ninja treat the wounded or ill, at least not with such a procedure.

After placing her hand in the bucket, Sakura draws together a ball of water and then presses it into Itachi’s body; though he is unconscious, his frame jerks when she does this. She concentrates for several minutes and then draws the globule back out of his skin. In it, Sasuke sees a blackish-purple sludge.

“All of that should be bright red,” she remarked the first time she did this, and Sasuke felt sick.

That was all inside Itachi? No wonder he has been so ill.

The waste is thrown into a wooden container which Teuchi tosses in the fire at once. Yamato uses his wood mastery to provide another container for the next handful of blackened blood that Sakura pulls from Itachi’s body.

With every extraction, his skin changes from pale and smooth to mottled and bruised.

As the hours tick by, Naruto and Yamato sit by in edgy silence; Naruto appears to be focussing on something while Yamato observes him warily. Sakura occasionally pauses and inspects her patients’ vitals. She asks about Sasuke’s symptoms, while Kakashi measures Itachi’s pulse. Sometimes she frowns and uses a tiny amount of healing chakra on one area of his body or another. Each time she does, Sasuke knows that time will be added to the already lengthy procedure. Sweat gathers on Sakura’s brow, mopped by Ayame when she comes by with refilled buckets of water, and twice she lists forward, only to be caught by Kakashi.

“You should take a break,” the older man suggests. “Even just a minute or two might make a difference.”

“A minute or two could kill me patient.”

“If you pass out, he’ll die anyway.”

“I’m not going to pass out, it was just a dizzy spell,” she snaps in irritation. “That happens when you concentrate your chakra for such a long period. This is usually a simple poison-extraction technique—it rarely exceeds half an hour. But I’m not extracting a foreign material, I’m extracting his own cells, which by their nature want to stay there. So stop talking and let me concentrate!”

But in spite of her severe words, Sasuke notices that she seems paler, and there’s a worried crease in her forehead.

“Sakura…you’ve extracted what appears to be the entirety of his blood supply,” Kakashi whispers. “His heart won’t keep beating at this rate.”

“I know.”

“Then how are you going to…?”

He trails off as the seal on Sakura’s forehead glows, and the black, ribbon-like markings snake across her face and down her arms. Sasuke stares in amazement as she presses her left hand flat against Itachi’s chest and the mark stretches beyond her skin onto his brother’s. The bands crisscross over his body, disappearing beneath his hair and clothing, and in his sleep, Itachi’s face contorts in discomfort.

“What the hell are you doing?” Naruto demands, entire frame going tense. “Chakra’s not a permanent replacement for blood! You’ll burn up if you do that!”

“That’s why you’re here, remember?” Sakura bites out, eyes focussed on her task; with her right hand, she continues to draw out the deadened cells even as she feeds her own chakra into Itachi’s body.

“But Sakura—”

“If you see me falter, help me, otherwise stop distracting me.”

Naruto’s fists clench, and Sasuke wants to argue as well, but his tongue is heavy in his mouth and his vision continues to swim. Kakashi continues to look wary, standing nearby in case she falters once more.

The seconds tick by in sync with the beat of Sasuke’s heart, and Sakura’s breathing becomes irregular. When blood suddenly leaks from her nose and the black ribbons encircling Itachi’s body begin to recede, Naruto swears and snaps a hand out. As he grasps her shoulder, there’s a sudden flare of chakra, so strong that Sasuke’s stomach clenches; he’s not a sensor-type, but he can sense the blistering warmth from it as if he was just set alight. Sakura is surrounded by a bubbling, red film of energy, and the mark connecting her to Itachi strengthens again.

“Thanks,” she says through gritted teeth, still digging dead cells out of him. “I’m almost…finished…”

“Sakura…” Sasuke attempts, but his words are slurred.

Her eyes flit briefly to him and then back to her work. “Naruto, cover him as well. I don’t want him succumbing to a blood clot while I can’t help him.”

“Right,” the blond man says and leans over, pressing his hand to Sasuke’s shoulder as well.

If before he felt as if he was set on fire, now he wonders if he wasn’t catapulted into the sun. It is as if every nerve and synapse in his body has suddenly connected, and in his confusion, he imagines he hears a stranger’s voice. Low, deep and ancient, whispering to him.

‘...I am the one who will establish peace and order…two clans…two bloodlines…’

“Kakashi,” Sakura commands, bringing him forcibly back to the present, “connect the intravenous catheters now.” Her hand is still pressed to Itachi’s sternum, but now her other one rests on Sasuke’s as well. “Radial artery in Sasuke’s wrist to median basilic in Itachi’s elbow—do you need me to show you that?”

“No, I’ve got it,” he says, and Sasuke experience a tiny needle prick in his left wrist. “What else?”

“That’s it. I’ll need to stimulate blood flow myself,” she says. “It’s a tricky process—we don’t want any air bubbles or other obstructions passed between patients.”

“That’s it? It’s just a transfusion?”

“The marrow cells will automatically know where to go,” she agrees. “The process usually takes two weeks to a month, but I will speed it up. His system will be as good as new in a few days as long as he rests. He might be weaker for longer though…”

She attempts a confident smile, but it doesn’t stay very long, and then she glances down at Sasuke. “How are you doing?”

“Fine,” he bites out, trying to ignore the ringing in his ears.

“You’ll feel better in a few minutes. Sort of. There will be some more disorientation as the excess blood in your system will be evacuated rather quickly. But don’t worry, I’m protecting your heart from damaging itself.”

“Are you?” he asks dazedly.

She gives him a look he can’t interpret, and then closes her eyes, frowning in concentration. Slowly, he notices a draining sensation, his stomach fluttering as if he is being spun about, and a severe sense of vertigo. Out of the corner of his eye, he watches the trail of his own blood inch through the small tube attached to his brother.

This time he is more aware of the slow crawl of time and knows that still more hours have passed. Sakura’s entire form is shaking beneath the red cloak of chakra, and Naruto sits cross-legged beside her, face scrunched up in concentration.

Eventually, Sakura removes her hand from Sasuke, along with the tube connecting him to his brother.

“Your part in this is over,” she tells him. “Now I simply have to force the cells in Itachi’s body to replicate. I’ll use mine and Naruto’s chakra to cloak the new cells so his body won’t attack them. We’ll see if it works soon enough.”

“Do you need to rest first?” he asks before he can stop himself.

“If I rest now, I may sleep for the next few days,” she tells him, absently brushing his sweat-soaked bangs from his face. Sasuke is distantly aware of two sharp, surprised intakes of breath from Yamato and Naruto, but those pale in importance next to the tiny smile she gives him.

Well, if they didn’t know before…

Sensing that the procedure has come to the most difficult juncture, everyone in the room goes utterly quiet, watching as Sakura works. She makes several hand signs with her free hand, then presses it to Itachi’s chest; a beat later, she uses both hands to shove a generous amount of chakra into him. Itachi’s body arches upward, as if it has been hit by a bolt of electricity, and then—

The red cloak around Sakura disappears, and with it her healing mark.

“Naruto,” she prompts, a warning in her voice, but when she glances up again annoyance gives way to concern. “No.”

Sasuke follows her gaze and sees that the blond man is unnaturally tense, his hands gripping his knee so tightly that they appear to have punctured skin. Which should not be possible—except when Sasuke looks closer, he sees that Naruto’s fingers now have claws.

“What the hell is going on?” he demands, stumbling to his feet; the room spins, reminding that he doesn’t have enough blood in his system to be of much use.

“I can’t…I’m losing…!” Naruto begins through gritted teeth and does Sasuke imagine it or are they getting longer?

Blue eyes flicker in the dim light, turning into red slits, and Yamato’s hands are already forming a seal.

Sasuke tries to put himself between Sakura, Itachi and Naruto, but his limbs falter as if they are made of lead. He is nowhere near in the condition to physically counter…whatever is happening to his erstwhile rival. The other man’s chakra seems to surround him, splitting into nine shapes—like tails.

“Naruto, hold on—” Yamato starts, and several wooden branches burst through the surrounding ground, headed straight for Naruto.

Before he can complete it, a tail-like chakra appendage whips out and tosses the man across the room. There’s a brutal thunk of skull meeting stone, and he slumps into unconsciousness. As Kakashi moves to stop it as well, it another tail snaps out headed for him.

“Get…Ayame and Teuchi…out of here!” Naruto growls, saliva and blood leaking from his clenched teeth. “And…Sakura…!”

Kakashi is already shoving the two civilians out of the way as another tail launches itself at Sakura. She throws up her right arm to block it, even as her left continues to press against Itachi. There is the smell of sizzling flesh, as if the touch of Naruto’s chakra is too hot for human skin.

“Naruto, fight it!” she cries, eyes wide as she surveys what’s happening to Naruto but still leaning protectively closer to Itachi’s body. Sasuke instinctively knows that she won’t leave her patient no matter what happens.

But Naruto is stalking forward, eyes darkening even as he tries to hold himself back, and Sasuke’s body moves without thinking. He throws himself into the other man’s path, weaponless but for his Sharingan spinning to the surface.

His brother’s words echo in time with his heartbeat.

They say he could command untamed demons with his eyes.

“Don’t,” he commands, both his rival and the beast within him.

The small hut fades around them, as if cloaked in a genjutsu, and Sasuke stands before a cage, a snarling, bubbling creature before him. The raging ball of negative energy and dark intent appears to be approaching Naruto, but upon seeing Sasuke is rumbles in contempt.

“Ah, so you’re the latest Uchiha,” it sneers. “Allow me to congratulate you on making it this far.”

“Why are you here?” Naruto demands, looking panicked. “You should protect the others!”

“Sakura can handle herself,” Sasuke replies, hoping his sounds more confident than he feels. He stares up at the enormous fox demon. “I see. So, this was your secret power this whole time. Hard to believe that something like this exists inside you.”

“Impressive that you’ve become able to see me here within Naruto,” the fox rumbles. “Such would be the power of that accursed Sharingan…and your forsaken ancestry.”

“That’s right,” Sasuke realises, “You’ve seen eyes like these before.”

“I have seen it all before,” the fox sneers. “You are not unlike a certain Uchiha Madara.” It laughs coldly. “Surely you know of his fate?”

Sasuke narrows his eyes and shoves his hand forward, grabbing the fox by his nose.

“I am not Madara,” he tells it, and wills as much of his own chakra forward to dispel the spirit.

“And yet…like him…you can suppress my power,” the beast muses in what appears to be its parting shot. “I wonder what else you have in common with him.”

It’s dark laughter fades, and the world spins until they are standing once more in the hut.

Naruto falls to his knees, features twisted into astonishment as he gazes up at Sasuke, who barely spares him more than a cursory glance.

Kakashi has returned, erecting a mud wall between Naruto and Sasuke, and the rest of the occupants. Sakura is still leaning over Itachi, face bone pale, and her arm bubbling with a blistering rash, while Yamato rubs at the back of his head.

Satisfied that everyone has survived, Sasuke finally returns his attention to Naruto. He shoots him a glare.

“Sometimes it’s too much for you?”

She’s not amused :)

In which Sakura is secretly apprenticed by Tsunade (and some others) a little earlier than in canon and is trained with the purpose of infiltrating the ranks of the Akatsuki and become a spy for the hidden leaf. The training was very extreme, but acting like a true shinobi even as she severely compromises her morals with the horrible things she must do to keep her cover and build more of the organization’s trust in her is even harder. She's breaking, and she has convinced her loved ones that she’s truly betrayed them, but she’s also determined to carry on with this mission if it means contributing to the safety of Naruto and Konoha.

Comments: Murder Mystery, ANBU, Seals Master!Iruka, basically all the best tropes all in one fic. This was the first Naruto fic I ever read, so I’m very attached and compare all KakaIru fics to this one.

Summary: Kakashi avoided relationships. He didn't want to put others in danger. So he couldn't understand why there was a face staring back at him, as a sub-entry to his own, in this Bingo Book. Umino Iruka (lover) the caption read. It didn't matter that it wasn't true. The Book was fact, and to Kakashi's enemies, Iruka had just become a weakness they could exploit.

Comments: Sensor-type!Iruka, ANBU, awkward KakaIru, what else could you possibly want in a fic? I love it when Iruka surprises people with how good of a ninja he is, even though he's "just a chuunin teacher". One of my favorite tropes, along with his chakra-location (like echolocation) from that one episode. Also, flailinginlove is an amazing author and you should go check out more of their stories.

When Kakashi realizes Naruto's assigned caretakers aren't even sort of doing their job, the young anbu decides to do a bit of long term babysitting (and possibly commit treason). What follows is the story of Uzumaki-Hatake Naruto and his unconventional family.

This is primarily a slice of life piece and heavy on both fluff and angst. It covers a lot of the canon events and has cannon typical violence and darker themes. It can be read as a stand alone, but is the first work of 3 planned in this AU.

It felt like it must have shattered bone, ribs grinding against each other in his chest, and Iruka bit his tongue almost until it bled to keep from crying out.

“Tell me, Iruka-sensei,” Tsunade said. “How long, exactly, have you been feeling Hatake Kakashi’s emotions?"

I wouldn't say much – I love NaruSaku and I hate to see great works shadowed behind the piles of popular NS stories that I never have liked as much except for a few, which also I'll drop below in the list.

I'll update this list whenever I come across a story that I particularly enjoy or finds worth spreading word across. So be sure to like and reblog this post so you can revisit it to add new story in your reading pile later.

Also, genres vary and are not mentioned, but does it make any difference as long as the story is good?

How the little blond boy Sakura had always known had changed, changing as well her feelings. The unfolding of their life, while Naruto worked to become the best Hokage and she faced her own emotions. Growing Love.

(I have nothing but upmost reverence for this story. This author writes one of the nest NS and I have loved all. NS is beautiful and Sakura is badass. Everything we already know is here and more.)

Dangerous infiltration mission: Krapo || ff.net || M || complete

Naruto and Sakura are send by the Hokage for a difficult infiltration mission. They will have to face more than just the danger itself as they will have to keep their cover to be fake husband and wife credible. how it will impact the relationship between the two ninja. Growing Love. Misunderstanding.

Sasuke come back, Team seven is reunited. But Sakura has lost Naruto. How will she make him fall in love with her again? What other difficulties lies ahead of them?

(Naruto loses memory. SasuSaku angst but not in romantic sense and I loved it all. Misunderstanding and more mutual pining. And I'm in love with this story too.)

Life was going great, Sakura thought. She was penniless, stranded in Europe without a way home, her fiancee had just dumped her for another woman AND her new companion was quite possibly a thief. How could things get any worse? Wait...was that guy pointing a gun at her?

(Now, personally, I don't prefer modern AU, but this story really had interesting characterisation and more character depth. NaruSaku is pretty spot on. It also features SasuHina and bamf!Hinata)

Fifteen years is a long time to not talk to someone you consider your best friend, and is made even more difficult when they (and you) are married. The things Sakura should have confronted Naruto about never came to fruition, but as an old saying goes, "the truth will always be revealed".

(Your typical I-made-a-wrong-choice-but-now-can-be-done story but unlike many other stories in this they don't admit their love for each chapter at the first chapter itself. In fact, it feels so canon and you can almost superimpose it upon the canon. Sakura is mentally strong and knows what's right. )

He was the sun: SavageTrickster || ff.net || T || Canonverse || ongoing

He had come a long way - from a lonely orphan ostracized by everyone to a loved hero. He deserved all these. His Hokage dream to come true. All the ramen he could eat. - Her eyes fell on a certain Hyuuga seated close enough for accidental touches. Her heart sank a little at a harsh whisper of reminder - And a deserving girl...who could give him all her love.

(So far so good. It's ongoing, and is at chapter 3. Sakura leaves Konoha much like how Naruto did, to explore the world aka seeing my headcanon in writing.)

Wilderness: Kanji no Sakka || M || canondivergent || ongoing

As the war screeches to a temporary halt, Naruto leaves the battlefield on a unique mission only he can complete. Sakura is ordered to go with him. In the days that follow their bond is changed forever.

(Although I hate any explicit stories that involve characters below age 17, I give this a pass because of the uniqueness of plot and characterisation. It has fine lemons that comes with a good plot.)

How It Should Have Been: OfPaintAndOil || ff.net || T || canon divergent || oneshot

It wasn't supposed to be this way. Sasuke was supposed to be the dark one, the unredeemable one. Naruto was the bright one, the good one. It wasn't supposed to be like this, with blood on his hands and glowing red eyes and a grin. Naruto was supposed to make everything better, and maybe he did, in the end, but Sakura had never expected the end to look quite like this.

(Featuring Yandere!Naruto. It leaves you wanting for more and is a fascinating read. It's dark themed so proceed with caution as your favorite character might or might not be dead.)

The Best Dates are the Cheap Ones: Shivakashi || ff.net || T || post!Timeskip || Oneshot

The whole point was to get the best date; that meant the richest and classiest guy, right? Sakura realizes what she has taken for granted and Ino learns a lesson in value.

(Sakura learns her lesson and snatches her boy. InoNaru is worth noting. Not the best characterisation of Sakura but bear with her jealousy for that is the reason why NS fluff exists. Story itself is very light and entertaining.)

mangoes and strawberries: ohthelinsanity || ff.net || T || postwar || oneshot

Sakura Haruno was elbow deep in Naruto Uzumaki's guts when he asked her to marry him. It was so not the right time. But she still said yes.

(This story just screams NS upon every single line. Diabetes warning. Too cute for this world. One of the best NS fluff I've read thus far. It kinda sticks to you forever!)

18 minutes, 23 seconds: ohthelinsanity || ff.net || T || postwar || oneshot

in which Naruto asks Sakura about that time she literally reached into his chest and grabbed his heart with her bare hand.

(Heartwarming. We all know how Sakura held Naruto's heart on her palms and how we love that moment. This is memory of that moment reminisced by our cutie pies.)

A set of drabbles revolving around Naruto, Sakura, and their children. It turns out that, when the war ends, these two get busy. Real busy.

Naruto brings Sasuke back to Sakura. Many, many times over. Sasuke does not appreciate; not the blood and definitely not the angst.

(I've read this story multiple times and it gets funnier and makes your heart hurt and swell simultaneously each time. NaruSaku wouldn't be blissfully happy together without Sasuke thrown somewhere in the mix, that's exactly why I love SNS. This story perfectly represents the dynamic of team 7.)

The past should stay dead and buried, but it won't if Naruto can't let go.

(Not exactly my favourite story, but I liked the concept. We all know how stubborn Naruto is once decides on something. If he wants to become Hokage, he will become Hokage. If he believes in Sasuke, he will believe in him forever. If he loves Sakura, he will marry her – uh, or should have, very OCC of him that he didn't.)

Wait okay so I fucking hope I’m not like the last person to have thought about this but I was writing notes for a little what if I had planned for Higuchi (half to prove I don’t hate her half because the idea has stuck with me for nearly a month)

But I think I’m onto something

Ichiyo Higuchi, real name Natsuko Higuchi has a story called Yamizakura aka Flowers at Dusk within it is a story of unrequited love between a young woman named Chiyo and a young man named wait for it Ryōnosuke

Um yes hello do I want Higuchi to fully be able to blast flowers at people - yes yes I do. I mean just imagine her going oh look a yamazakura, boom whomping Sakura tree. But it also gives Hanahaki vibes :( ->

Okay okay jokes aside though big sads if I’m the last one to think of this but like.., I was just gonna pick Yamizakura cuz I really liked the title and it just spoke to me and for SO FUCKING LONG have I imagined Ichiyo ripping off the bandaid and letting Natsuko (let’s say they are very different idk) have at the world.

Idk man sometimes I think about that scene in the bathroom with the Black Lizard where they pretty much were like “hey we don’t really respect you so make the right decision and we won’t kill you ourselves” and I feel sad for her like we know she has BAMF energy like imagine she harnesses that raw beautiful energy of hers and idk seduces her prey and just imagine right like imagine this as an example of what she could do- like I’m imagining she could do some serious damage but also just I can see something like this happening ->

It was so simple really, allowing a little skin to show really does wonders for the pea sized brain men like this have. Ichiyo- no.. Natsuko- felt his hand slide up her dress, the high slit making it easier for him to grab and grope at whatever he wished. His other hand tangled in her freshly dyed locks (it certainly was nice to have dark hair again) her wine coloured eyes watched their surroundings, watching for the team she didn’t expect to pay attention.

It wasn’t until his lips met hers did she reciprocate any actions, acting drunk certainly was a bore. She hoped- in the dark crevices of her mind- that the Akutagawa’s, Tachihara and Hirotsu were paying attention, however unlikely it is as her tongue grazed the inside of her targets mouth. It took a moment of course, with her hands gripping his face tighter, keeping him in place nails almost digging into the skin, for her ability could be torturously slow some days.

He was struggling to breathe now. Good. She pulled away, a slight trail of blood falling from the corner of her mouth, wine eyes glowing in an almost sinister way. She could hear the way he tried to breathe, tried to beg as he began to cough, the blood splattered petals coming out of his mouth. He dropped to the ground, he couldn’t think, he was dizzy, couldn’t even attempt to attack the woman he was convinced was stupid to have given him the time of day- what a mistake that was. Even more so when she pressed a finger to her ear and spoke, voice low and vicious.

“He’s out. I’m with him around the side if you want to bring the car clos- what did I do?” She paused, a smile unlike any she’d ever dared show as Ichiyo stretched across her pretty features. “I gave him a terrible terrible cough.”

Team Seven starts off on a different foot and Sasuke's canonical journey to get stronger goes off the rails a bit. It all works out though. Probably.

(This fic went in a direction I didn't expect and it's GLORIOUS. SO FUNNY, I honestly was dying while I was reading this. Please give this a chance!!)

Naruto can sense auras, which throws everything off it's balance. Because really, with someone as open as Naruto running around and peering into the depths of people's souls, something is bound to change. In other words, sometimes all that's needed is a push. Also, Sasuke apparently glows.

(I honest to god can't stop cackling when I read this, the Sasuke & Obito dynamic is so freaking chaotic and Sasuke's characterization is the best thing I've ever read. This boi is a mEsS and I'm fucking rooting for him. He cares so much! There's secret identity shenanigans happening on sasuke's end and it's HILARIOUS! This is the duo I never thought I needed but here it is! *cackles insanely*)

Age gaps

Ahh... I dread this but I'll speak anyway. I keep seeing people have a problem with big age gap couple in fandom. Now before your nostrils all fluff up let me say this, if you can't have an open mind or too fragile for my input please take your leave. This would be wasted on you.

About age gap on fandoms couple (canon or crack) I personally have no problem as long as both parties consent (without child grooming or forced relationship aspect) and considered legal at the start of their relationship and the legality here is not referring to our modern standard but on the couple's world and time. I'll try to explain but it might get long and boring but if you're still okay, continue.

I'll give an example, during the age of samurai if the situation permits like Uesugi Kenshin they can join battle at age 13 and there are still other examples of other famous child samurai. We call it child now because time change but during that time they were considered an adult once they enter battlefield. Why? They already trained years prior to kill and to protect their lord. Example of this in anime would be Himura Kenshin from Rurouni Kenshin. His first marriage was when he's around 16 and that was an acceptable age at that era since he was considered adult at age 14. So even though I find it icky if modern day teenager marry at that age, I can understand Kenshin's situation. If I'm still okay reading about him killing people around at even younger age I'm not gonna complain about him wanting to marry (although it's not that simple white and black for him).

You get what I'm trying to say?

More example of the acceptable norms in past era. During certain era in certain place like for example Victorian England and prior, 14 year old boys and 12 year old girls are passable for marriage depends on whether the family want it or not as it's more political than anything else. Same in China for example during the Manchurian Dynasty 14 year old girl is considered adult enough for marriage. And usually the age of the husband is always older by few years up to few decades (officials and emperor). But of course over time all of the above would change. Not by much maybe? Depend on the country I say.

Still we can't just hold the old days custom and norms on our modern day standard that would be akin to the present you calling your two or three year-old self a moron for defecating and not wiping your own ass. Or like when you do something stupid at your young age (pick whatever stupid situation that you have take as a lesson. Done?). You just didn't know better back then but now you do and from your failure you learn, although it would be better if you learn from other's lesson but I say pain is an effective lesson for oneself. Would you rather have that memories of your lesson be removed or ignored? I wouldn't. I don't know if I might do the stupid thing again just to find out whether I can or not. Same as this this whole age gap, young age marriage in the past and present in some customs thing. Don't erase the fact, don't gloss it over because people have and can still learn from them. My grandma married at young age and I came to be as the result of her choice.

Have you ever seen high schooler called Robert D Jr handsome? I've seen it recently on youtube. They call him very handsome and another video talked about cool and handsome senior male models. I've scrolled through the comments and no one seems offended that these high school girls simping for male old enough to be their granddad. These girls called them daddy and commenting how hot they are and the comments either agree or saying the girls reactions are cute. Huh... reverse the situation if these old models commenting female korean idol for example and calling them cute or hot what would people think? "creepy" "pedobear" even though senior female might think the same lines, heck maybe even we think the same lines. See the double standard people use? Maybe not everyone, but the loud ones are there. They're so loud I don't even know if they're majority or minority. I have celebrity crush too when I was young and as it happen, he's my father's age and to be frank, I would not mind an older partner if said partner is compatible and emotionaly mature. My sister is 17 years younger than her husband and they turn out well because her husband is matured enough to understand her ups and downs emotion back when they're dating, even before. Are all men mature emotionally as they became older then? No, just as not all oranges is sweet. My sister is 10 years my senior but she's more bratty than I am sometimes. Is it wrong of my bro in law to be with my sis?

No stupid, I'm trying to make you think. I don't accept pedophilia, shotacon or lolicon. My sis is old enough to be called spinster when they go out. Anyway, when you follow a certain series, try to see it from their era and custom's perspective. Some era is okay with 16 year old marrying. Some tribes in Asia allow marriage between cousins while others and the majority of the world frown upon them. That's just how they see and do things. For me as long as both side consent without pressure and not in the case of 'parents sending their child for marriage without their input' thing I'm okay to leave that alone, I'm pretty much sure we're on the same page there. I hope.

So, just as when you come to another country, you adhere to their rules and norms or you have no right to complain if they deport you out for not learning beforehand and breaking their rules. Or when you have a guest come to your home and they suddenly start demanding you to do stuff their way, you should kick them out if not slapping their face. Or if you want to be kind, explain how you do things in your home and hoping they would understand and respect it.

I'm jumping around but see what I'm trying to say? I'll get to another anime example.

In Naruto for instance, they became genin at 12 and killing people left and right. People are okay with that right? Yeah well, since it was soo popular I suppose... besides it's pretty glossed over in both manga and anime. But the same people that's okay with children killing left and right, would they be okay if suddenly the mangaka put in story about one of the chara going on seduction mission? If it's carried out well as in the chara being bamf, maybe no problem. But if things went south for the chara? I'm sure there will be outrage, especially if that's a female chara or worse if it's one of the main like Sakura. See? People hold the characters, the series and the mangaka to their own convenient double standards. Back to the age gap when shipping, I pick Naruto as example because apparently Sakura was just so shippable that people actually ship her with Kakashi and even Madara and she makes easy example. Don't ask me why she's shipped with Madara and I don't ship any of the two with Sakura. Anyway, if Sakura is mature enough to choose to kill as a teenager (and don't give me crap about Sakura never killing on screen. Their line of work involves lots of death and she's been through war) she's mature enough to decide her romantic partner even if it's suddenly Orochimaru(ㆆ_ㆆ) (did they even exist?). You can say her taste is terrible because he's an asshole but don't say it's gross cause the age difference because apparently Orochimaru can just rejuvenated to new body and be as good as a babe (I wish I could too). Anyway saying it's about age on these kind of chara is just straight up lie on people's part. Another example I can think of atm is snk. I've seen people against pairing the 104th with the veterans because of age gap. Now I'm not trying to be rude, but hear me if you please. The whole 104th are trained child soldiers and they're killing titans and even humans. You're all okay with that? If you still follow the series far enough and liking it maybe you enjoy seeing the action sequence, drama and intrigue? The fact that you still come back to the series after this long proves that you're still okay with all the gores and blood spilled with all the glorious child soldier most of all. They become soldier because of circumstances you say? I'm glad you think so too! Although I must point out, the 104th did CHOOSE to be soldiers (just as Naruto and co choose to be ninja). They could be farmers or thugs for all we know. All the soldiers in snk choose their occupation, thay all trained and decide to join the Survey Corps, in fact the only one that join reluctantly in the first place is the former thug although he continues in the end. That aside, their circumstances certainly are different than us don't they? They don't even know a car and blip exist before Marley... They must have a whole lot of different mindset and norms than ours too for a civilization whose life are about survival against titans that's 100 years behind than other civilization in their world. Ever think of that?

Seeing modern day teenage in romantic lights are indeed hard as I'm sure the majority can't even survive without their gadget and parents' money. I certainly can't at that age. Immature. Even those in their twenties and thirties are immature these days. But now when one of those child soldier who have a whole lot of different mindset and maturity level is being shipped with older chara, you're against it. Okay. Maybe it's indeed easier for you to see 15 year olds regardless of their profession to commit act of violence and even kill than to love... (does that sounds okay to you?)

...I'm not saying killing mindlessly is alright because it is NOT. But that would need a whole lot different threads and time to spare and maybe someone else can do it or already done it before me.

But here's the good thing, even when the ship starts when they grow and at the modern legal age of 18 and 19, or even far above like centuries, it's still not okay for some people to ship them. I don't mind if it's your preference and you don't go disturbing other's corner when they don't even enforce their ship as words of god and even acknowledging that 'yes, maybe it's not canon and just our bits of fun' but sometimes it got to the point of belittling those who do ship age gap couple and treat them like a criminal in need of help or wishing them death. Seriously? Yes. People are that immature.

If you don't like a ship because you think your own is better, fine. Do your thing in your corner but don't go to other people's corner just to talk shit without even knowing why they ship what they ship. Most of this ship is just in our head in the end, and even if your ship is canon it does not make you any greater in real life.
