eta the maugean skate is extremely endangered and facing immediate extinction and the government is the damn fucking liberals and they will not do anything about it. idk what any random people from across the world can do about it but im screaming crying sobbing begging for help
Her name is Dr Lucienne Rickard and she lives and works in Hobart, Tasmania. Since 2019 she has been drawing pictures of extinct and endangered animals, only to erase them.
The drawings get really detailed, too.
Dr Rickard's work tugs on the heartstrings of passers-by - lamenting the loss of her beautiful and detailed renderings of animals disseappered, or soon to be. It's such an ingenious way to get peoples emotions involved in the disappearance of species they may not have previously even considered.
Her final piece in this series was 100 individually drawn red handfish, representing the only remaining wild population. It was erased in its entirety last month.
You can find more about Dr Rickard on her instagram @luciennerickard

clarice is about to start popping off. she loves the autumn and she has at least three dozen little blossoms in various stages of exploding pink engorgement. i'm so proud of her. i moved ruth over close because sometimes clarice's wantoness encourages her. bob, the chia christmas tree, is new here, and he has no idea what he is in for even though he has been putting on quite the big bushy fertility show himself. complications ensue
"There are so many reasons to doubt the Biblical creation story. For example... if God wants to punish us for Adam's fall, why can't he leave his other creatures out of it? The suffering endured by animals can often defy words... What did they do wrong?"
ANT - Analog nodes tuned
Group senior, an extremely old iterator. Made when ancients were still figuring iterators' mechanical - biological balance. They use a complicated method of hive insects to compute and process. However this is horribly slow compared to a regular iterator. Time sensitive senior duties were passed on to TART.
NH - Natural harmonics
Iterator who was created to study "lesser" organisms and how they interact with the cycle. She's particularly fond of carnivorous plants
CUE - Chemically unyielding extinction
An iterator that was made for cataloguing and preserving every accessible lifeform, as well as studying effects of near-death and cryogenics. He's the creator of BUB (Bodies upon bodies)
I love when insect haters come up with weird "scientific" reasons to justify their hate. "We are the most vulnerable animal to wasp venom and we have a natural aversion to wasps" no the fuck we don't
You never wanted to hurt anyone, but the world never gave you a choice. You did the best you could with what you had, but every innocent mistake you made was held against you when it counted, every crossroads led you down the wrong path no matter which way you went. No matter what you did, the odds were stacked against you. It wasn't fair, and you are sick and tired of being told what a monster you are for things out of your control. Well, fine. They want a monster? YOU'LL GIVE THEM A MONSTER!
