Daily Devotional: Exodus 16:22-36
God kept the manna from appearing on the sabbath day. Even though they had enough, some Israelites go out to gather more on the sabbath day despite God’s instruction for them to rest. Before the Law is even given, the people refuse to keep God’s instructions. God has given the people the sabbath and provided for them, and they still do not follow His instructions.  We often have in mind all that…

Food for Thought
1 They set out from Elim, and all the congregation of the people of Israel came to the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after they had departed from the land of Egypt. 2 And the whole congregation of the people of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness, 3 and the people of Israel said to them, “Would that we had died…

Bread from Heaven (Exodus 16:27-35)
There is a time to go out and gather, and there is a time to stay put and eat; a time to work, and a time to rest.
Bread From Heaven, by Nigel Wynter On the seventh day some people went out to gather food, but they didn’t find any. The Lord said to Moses, “How long will you refuse to do what I have commanded and instructed you to do? Remember: The Lord has given you this day of rest as a holy day. That’s why he gives you enough food on the sixth day for two days. On the seventh day stay in your place—no one…

Gyoza Experience. Growing up as a child, weekdays is for school while on weekends we are allowed to play video games, watch tv and play outside. Anime which are dubbed to my native language. One particular anime is the Virtua Fighter, I do not know why it is the most retained memory. I actually named my our dogs Pai and Mao, after the characters names. One particular scene I remember was Mao, the main character complaining that he always eats free gyoza, up to the point that he smells like one (gyoza is made up of garlic). Little did I know that I will also experience that. A coworker who is a good mom-cook let me taste her handmade (from scratch) gyoza, it really taste good. Then she always bring some for me, not just 3-5 pieces, but 10-20 pieces. Then my palate get used to it, and telling me that is there no other food to eat? There I remember what exiles did when they were everyday supplied with manna and quails from heaven (Exodus 16). Why God only supplies the same thing or the same food? Isn't He thinking that people may be sicken by it? Then He revealed, that not just with food, or material things. God can supply you what you need, endlessly, but it will not truly satisfy, unless God is in the picture. Let us humble ourselves to God, because He is the only one who satisfies us.

Yahweh Rains Bread from Heaven
1 Then they set out from Elim, and all the congregation of the sons of Israel came to the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departure from the land of Egypt. 2 And the whole congregation of the sons of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness. 3 And the sons of Israel said to them, “Would that we had died by the hand of Yahweh in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat, when we ate bread to the full; for you have brought us out into this wilderness to put this whole assembly to death with hunger.”
4 Then Yahweh said to Moses, “Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a day’s portion every day, that I may test them, whether or not they will walk in My law. 5 Now it will be on the sixth day, they shall prepare what they bring in, and it will be twice as much as they gather daily.” 6 So Moses and Aaron said to all the sons of Israel, “At evening you will know that Yahweh has brought you out of the land of Egypt; 7 and in the morning you will see the glory of Yahweh, for He hears your grumblings against Yahweh; and what are we, that you grumble against us?”
Yahweh Gives Meat and Bread
8 And Moses said, “This will happen when Yahweh gives you meat to eat in the evening and bread to the full in the morning; for Yahweh hears your grumblings which you grumble against Him. And what are we? Your grumblings are not against us but against Yahweh.”
9 Then Moses said to Aaron, “Say to all the congregation of the sons of Israel, ‘Come near before Yahweh, for He has heard your grumblings.’” 10 Now it happened as Aaron spoke to the whole congregation of the sons of Israel, that they turned toward the wilderness, and behold, the glory of Yahweh appeared in the cloud. 11 And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 12 “I have heard the grumblings of the sons of Israel; speak to them, saying, ‘At twilight you shall eat meat, and in the morning you shall be filled with bread, so that you shall know that I am Yahweh your God.’”
13 So it happened at evening that the quails came up and covered the camp, and in the morning there was a layer of dew around the camp. 14 Then the layer of dew evaporated, and behold, on the surface of the wilderness there was a fine flake-like thing, fine as the frost on the ground. 15 And the sons of Israel saw it and said to one another, “What is it?” For they did not know what it was. And Moses said to them, “It is the bread which Yahweh has given you to eat. 16 This is what Yahweh has commanded, ‘Gather of it every man as much as he should eat; you shall take an omer apiece according to the number of persons each of you has in his tent.’”
31 And the house of Israel named it manna, and it was like coriander seed, white, and its taste was like wafers with honey. 32 Then Moses said, “This is what Yahweh has commanded, ‘Let an omerful of it be kept throughout your generations, that they may see the bread that I fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you out of the land of Egypt.’” — Exodus 16:1-16, and 31-32 | Legacy Standard Bible (LSB) Legacy Standard Bible Copyright ©2021 by The Lockman Foundation. “12 Promises of God to Lean On” By Instaencouragements.com:
“Leaning on the promises of God means relying on the assurances that He has given us through His Word, the Bible.
God's promises are trustworthy and provide comfort, guidance, and hope to believers.
When we lean on these promises and trust in God's faithfulness, we find peace. Peace that passes all human understanding. Peace that sustains us in the midst of difficult circumstances. Peace that assures us that God is in control.
It's important that we read and meditate on God's Word regularly. When we do, we will be reminded of His promises and to deepen our trust in Him.
Today, let's look at 12 of His promises and meditate on the Scripture where they are found.
12 promises of God we can confidently lean on today:
1. God will fight for you: “The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.” —Exodus 14:14
2. God will go before you: “It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” —Deuteronomy 31:8
3. God will be with you: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” —Joshua 1:9
4. God will renew you: “But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” —Isaiah 40:31
5. God will strengthen you: “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” —Isaiah 41:10
6. God will be your Shepherd: “The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.” —Psalm 23:1
7. God will deliver you: “When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.” —Psalm 34:17
8. God will counsel you: “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.” —Psalm 32:8
9. God loves you: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” —John 3:16
10. God will make all things work for your good: “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.” —Romans 8:28
11. God will never leave you: “Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for He has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you.” —Hebrews 13:5
12. God will guard you: “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” —Philippians 4:7

Daily Devotional: Exodus 16:1-21
Manna, a light film of secreted honeydew left when insects consumed the sap from the Rimth Shrub in the Desert of Sinai—still collected and used as an ingredient in the modern day. The Israelites did not know about the naturally occurring food. Like we see in God’s command about purifying bitter water (Genesis 15:22-27), here we see God teaching Israel about His creation—particularly how to…

Revelation 15: Holy Smoke
As John watched, smoke filled the heavenly Holy of Holies, preventing anyone from entering in. For John, this would have brought to mind God’s instruction to Moses that God later portrayed in all reality. #Revelation15 #HolySmoke #Shekinah
Then after these things I saw, and the sanctuary of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened, and the seven angels emerged, the ones holding the seven calamities, out of the sanctuary, having been arrayed in radiant, pure linen and having had golden belts girded all around upon the chests. Then one out of the four living creatures gave to the seven angels seven golden broad shallow…

Be Resilient, Not Resistant (Exodus 16:9-21)
Whether hoarding or handing out, everyone is meant to move through an unwanted situation or missed expectation with faith and resilience.
The Israelites gather manna in the desert, by Ercole de’ Roberti (1451-1496) Then Moses told Aaron, Say to the entire Israelite community, ‘Come before the Lord, for he has heard your grumbling.’” While Aaron was speaking to the whole Israelite community, they looked toward the desert, and there was the glory of the Lord appearing in the cloud. The Lord said to Moses, “I have heard the…

ok one thing that annoys me is that like. ok. when Thancrred And Yda came to Sharlayan it was to the colony, a few years b4 the exodus. Some material makes it sound like the twelve archons *stayed behind* from the exodus but that was also from like. Louisoix trying to pump up his slapdash group of grad students into legendary heroes. How much time did Thancred and Yda spend in Sharlayan? Did Lyse grow up there? She must have, right, like she would have been around 10 when the exodus happened. Yda was prooobably approaching adulthood at that point (we never get a number on her age but i would think she was at least 15 making the journey from one end of Aldenard to the other, which would put her at like. Fourish years older than Thancred? I'm rambling but I just wish there was like... an explanation somewhere of what the deal was there

"Jealous FOR" Is a Much Different Animal Than "Jealous OF"
Have you ever stopped to consider that the Lord proclaims Himself to be jealous? What do you think He means by that? “You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my…
