Hob mistaken for a prostitute by Dream.
Hob is just sitting in this hotel bar getting a drink when this blazingly hot man walks up to him and starts talking.
Hob's leaving tomorrow and had been in dumb meetings all day selling his tech company for more money than he thought existed for an idea he came up with his late wife; He and Robyn will be set for life (2 or 3 lives). Hob just wanted a drink to decompress (and quietly freak out). Somehow, this hot guy, who didn't share his name, talked Hob up to his room and blew his back out/they blew each others' backs out (Hob honestly stopped tracking when they front'ed against the room door to a fast 1st one each).
When Hob wakes up the next morning to a pile of cash and a note on hotel stationary saying 'thanks and hope this covers it + tip', he's gobsmacked. 1. It was a lot of money - at least he's a good whore; and 2. Hob didn't think they connected for a long term thing or anything, but he certainly didn't think his stranger thought he was on the job!
Well, life is weird and full, and this will be a great story for his friends at the pub -- Joanna is going to give him so much sh*t. Hob certainly doesn't expect to see his stranger again, now.
This is my new favourite thing. I’m actually so tempted to throw this in my wip pile because omg. I LOVE sex worker Hob, but not-actually-a-sex-worker Hob is so fucking funny and weirdly hot.
Anyway, it keeps Hob from moping as he starts his new life with Robyn. Whenever he’s sad he has a little chuckle about that night. He’ll mutter “chin up, you’re a good whore remember?” whenever he’s having a crisis. He’s moved to this smallish village with a school for Robyn and a nice little pub where Hob has taken on a few shifts that he doesn’t need but hey, they were short staffed. He’s made a small circle of friends and Robyn’s grandparents are just down the road. It’s a very comfortable life.
And then one night he’s hanging out with his friends at the pub, and someone new comes in. Hob doesn’t get a glimpse until Joanna waves the stranger over and introduces him as an old uni mate.
It’s the guy. The hot guy who paid him £4000 cash for sex. Holy shit.
Their eyes meet and Hob feels his face turn bright red. The stranger introduces himself as Morpheus and sits down awkwardly next to Hob, while the rest of the group dissolves back into chatter. Which would be fine, except — Morpheus starts whisper-asking polite questions about Hob’s job. Do his friends know? Should Morpheus be discreet about their encounter? Is Hob being safe? Hob nearly dies there at the table. How’s he supposed to tell the guy that he’s a millionaire, not a rent boy?!
The worst part is, Morpheus is so fucking hot. Hob wants him all over again. And because he’s a fucking idiot, he lets Morpheus take him back to the little B&B he’s staying at nearby. Once again Hob is fucked into sweet oblivion in several different rooms, and when he’s too sore to go any more he takes over and finally fucks Morpheus on the actual bed. Morpheus gives him permission to stay the night and Hob thinks that he really, REALLY needs to come clean but. They both fall asleep.
In the morning over coffee in the kitchen, Morpheus says “I am afraid I only have £500 in cash. Do you have a PayPal account?” Just as Joanna pops in through the back door (it’s her girlfriend’s b&b, she has a key).
“Oh my GOD, Hob.” She says. “This is why EVERYONE assumes that you’re a whore!”
…and from there onwards, chaos reigns.

Dream of the Endless, person vs purpose
Spinning this off of this discussion about Dream and Hob's 1589 meeting and the disconnect between their mindsets going into it.
(I'll try to make this coherent, but it's been a long day and I rarely write meta outside of D&D things, so I hope this is okay.)
I said, "Like some sort of fucked up velveteen rabbit, I honestly don't think Hob was a Real Person to Dream until he refused to give up in 1689. 1489? Not what Dream expected, but amusing. Hadn't experienced true hardship, though, so not so surprising. 1589? Successful, not interesting by Dream's metrics but of course he's not going to choose to die then. 1689 is when Hob does something so beyond Dream's understanding that he can't dismiss it again."
Here's the thing, though. Hob is the only being in history for whom Dream has always been a Real Person. The entire 600 years of their relationship, Hob never learns Dream's function. He never learns Dream's name, which means he never learns that those two things are functionally the same. Sure, if you knew about the Endless, you might look at Dream and go "yep, he's totally the anthropomorphic personification of the collective dreaming mind," but there's no way for Hob to know that.
In 1489 he asks if Dream is the devil, but when Dream says no, he doesn't push to learn what manner of creature he is. He must speculate, but what actually happens is that lacking any preconceived template about who and what Dream is, Hob simply settles on friend. He looks at this clearly supernatural, but still, essentially, wet cat of a man, and doesn't poke at all of the obvious power and mystery around him, try to take it for himself or lean on Dream to his own advantage. He just calls him stranger and friend. After all, Dream never asks anything of him except for stories about his life. They meet at regular intervals. His friend is aloof and reticent, but still obliquely expresses concern for Hob's circumstances in 1689 and 1789, and even gives advice the latter time, and seems minutely pleased at Hob's evolution by 1889. Hob doesn't know what his friend does outside of their meetings, but it's not hard to extrapolate from the way he asks about Hob's experiences that he doesn't have a lot of casual conversation or undemanding companionship. Which is why it's easy for Hob to identify him as lonely when they meet again in 1889.
And Dream is furious, but when he says "one such as I"? Hob doesn't know! I don't think Dream even realizes it at the time, because Hob is the only person in history who has ever divorced his idea of Dream as a person from Dream as his function. And Dream doesn't know how to separate those things. What does Hob see that allows him to make that distinction? No wonder he storms off rather than reciprocate; no wonder he doesn't offer Hob his name. (What if he told Hob his name and ceased to be Dream-who-is-first-of-all-Hob's-friend?)
And then he spends 133 years alone, cut off from his realm, his power, and his purpose. 133 years where he can't be anything except just himself.
I have to imagine he wondered about the person that Hob saw. I wonder if it was the first time he thought that there was enough of someone left without all of those things to still be a whole person in Hob's eyes.
@landwriter, @moderndaypandora, sorry if this isn't as coherent or in-depth a narrative as you might have liked, but I hope you enjoyed a little more elaboration on these thoughts!

Shut Up by Stormzy.
Hob is a literature professor. Dream is an underground electronic music artist who goes by Morpheus. They never would've met. Never would've even known about each other.
Except. Hob is bit addicted to Twitter. Except. Hob has a bit shit taste in music. Except. A student cancels her presentation because she got last-minute tickets to a Morpheus show and Hob looks him up and gets irrationally mad at a stupid skinny little goth that doesn't even play any real instruments or sing and whose photo of a sneaker drop, whatever that is, got a thousand retweets within hours.
This is the story of how Hob sends a petty tweet and then sort-of-accidentally starts iconic Twitter beef with Dream.
Death, acclaimed hip-hop artist and meddling older sister, is delighted by a random man in a sweater-vest rudely insulting her brilliant baby brother, and insists on catching up with Dream so they can collab on a diss track, because it'll be very interesting. Hob finds out about it at a lecture and plays it in front of his whole class. It's clever and funny and absurdly referential. He falls a little bit in love with the wrong person, because he thinks the lyrics are Death's.
He slides into Dream's DMs to tease him about his older sister to protecting him (and maybe ask for her number), and Dream cops to writing it. Hob reacts with so much earnest wonder that he has to swiftly follow it with calling Dream a pretentious cunt, just to balance things out. They continue talking, under the flimsy auspices of being mean to each other.
One day, Dream video calls him while stuck at an airport, wearing stupid glasses and a stupid hat like a some kind of celebrity traveling incognito - because he sort of is, Hob belatedly realizes - and that's when he sees Dream laugh for the first time. It's because of him. He realizes he wants to kiss the stupid skinny little goth. Wants Dream to be his stupid skinny little goth. Has no idea how to do that. He pines. Dream pines.
When there's a show playing near Hob, Dream sends him a VIP ticket, day-of, with no other message or context. Hob goes, of course, feeling tremendously uncool at the venue. But during the show he finally understands, in a way he didn't before, how Dream pulls whole worlds to life with his music, how he weaves something new and incredible from samples alone. How he tells stories without words.
After, awed, he goes backstage, and almost regrets it when he has to face half of Dream's entourage, whose ruthless teasing is absolutely secret screening to see if he's Good Enough For Our Morpheus, but he gives as good as he gets, and, unable to bear it any longer, Dream tells them all to fuck off. Then it's just them, and Dream makes some vulnerable little joke about whether Hob still thinks it's not real music, but Hob is just standing there, bluescreened before the sight of this man, who he wants to be his, who he's spent hours with online, who he's never even touched, so human and real suddenly. Dream is flushed and sweaty and a bit of his hair is plastered to his forehead. The energy of the crowd is still glowing underneath his skin. Hob is hapless. Hob can only think to ask to kiss him. So he asks, and that's how their first time ends up being in a shitty little greenroom in Manchester. And their second. The third, at least, is in Dream's hotel.

🎶 itsssss beeennnn 🎶 a hotttt minuuutteeee 🎶 sincccee iveeee went insane on here so let's just get into it yeah
Yall already know what it is
jia + the archer x not strong enough
When the trend first like got popular I was like eeehhhh that's not rlly jia
Haha lol
the archer:
'screaming who could ever leave me darling, but who could stay'
the spiderman curse
Or smth idk HAUSHA the canon events and everyone dyinnnggg
And also her own personal life like her parents didn't even stay soooo
Who would (COUGHCOUGHXOUGHOBJEHUHC)
And while jia isn't like uhhh how do I put it
She's not insecure yet she's also deeply insecure at a more ??? deeper level??? Idk how to say it
Like it's more like "I hate the way I have become because of things I cannot control and the way it makes me FFFFUUCCKING LONELLLYYYY"
but in a sadder way HAHSJS idk she copes by ignoring her problems (js like me fr)
So while at the same time she's like yeah I'm just a person I'm good with it 👍 she's also like what, could anyone possibly see in me to stay (side affects of distant parents!!!! Side note: THISNISNT TRAUMA DUMPING IM FINE)
'cause they see right through me'
They as in all the people she's known and don't know
That doesn't make sense gimme a
Like they as in the people of her city, people within the hq probably, people shes acquainted with, friends with, etc etc etc
They as in all people other jia herself sees right through her and fail to see just *her* per se
And it's probably her own fault tbh I mean she kinda like
Masks it so who's damn fault is that girl 🤷🤷 DAMN
But despite them never truly seeing the her that's incredibly lonely, she'd much rather prefer to keep it that way which then rolls onto the topiccc offffff
'can you see right through me'
okay this is kind of personal interpretation and changing the lyrical meaning to fit her lore BUT IDDDCCCCC IM RUNNING THIS SHOOOWWW LET ME BEEEEE
Y'all already know who this is directed at hirjejkejejkejekejejejjejejejks
hob
HEHIIEHHRBBBBDBBBB
Anyways
Like the last one I said she'd much prefer to keep her self under wraps and ignore the problem
But obviously since I'm FUCKING delusional and SOOOO fucking CRIMGEE ofc he's an exception HHHHHRHBBBHHHHHHHHHHHHHHRB&-!-!
And because he's the only one who's ever really gotten underneath that layer
She was
Sooooioioioooooo
Fucking confused by it
And because she's never addressed her issues properly, she's not used to this and so this line would almost be like
She's BEGGING him to just pllleaaase be like the rest
Please just see through her because this kind of thing has never happened before and she's SCCCCARREEDD to care too much and what if he leaves too and what if it's all for naught and what if what if what i
Girl we get it
But anyways the last line was
'I see right through me'
Would obviously be referring to her own denial to see herself by ignoring 🧚🧚 herrr fuckingnnnn problemmmsss and feeelinngggsss 🎶🎶 cause hey. Why be sad when u can be glad and very very silly
Anyways the next part
'always an angel never a god'
BITCH
I feel so strongly abt this line rn
Obviously I'm on,
Jjk tok and so I kind of got the train of thought from there but
Always an angel never a god cause she can save as many lives as she tries but she can never save all the lives she cares about
Always an angel never a god cause despite being blessed with a power that gives her the parallel of an angel she can never save her world that will inevitably be destroyed by its own deity that granted her that power (since ig angels work under god/gods and so she'd be that angel working under the deity which would be the god and do you get what I mean)
ALWAYS AN ANGEL NEVER A GOD CAUSE WHILE SHE WANTS TO DO SO MUCH GOOD, YET SHES NEVER A GOD BECAHSE SHE DOESMT HAVE THE BENEVOLENCE OF A GOD CAUSE SHE STILL CARRIES THAT SELFISHNESS OF NEVER WANTING TO BE SPIDERGIRL AND HAVING THAG RESPONSIBILITYAJNNNNWNNENEJDD AUAUAYAUUUUUAHGGEEEUUEUEUEUUEUEUE BREAKS DOWN AND STARTS DISNETNTEGRSTING
yeah okay that's all and this is all just personal interpretation btw so it might not match up to its original meaning but HEY
im gonna go draw them hugging now or smth idk bye bye

Hello if you can spare a few moments of your time what do you think of the prompt where Jessamy the raven gets reborn but as a human person and meet hob as a college student and met Morpheus not realizing he’s dream and she thinks is hobs boyfriend or husband?
Hello yes I have So Many thoughts on this.
First off, I fucking adore Jessamy and I'm heartbroken each and everyday that we never get to hear her speak in the Netflix adaptation.
Jessamy's life as a raven was already her second chance. Like Matthew, she had lived a life in the Waking World in which anthropomorphic personifications of concepts did not exist to her. Nor did the reality of magic or the journey of flying between realms. Her first life had been a short one though. As a human, she'd been very sick. And frail. And, more often than not, alone. To die in her sleep and wake up a raven was strangely liberating instead of frightening. She could put up with the magic and the strange enigmatic man who called himself her King if it meant that she could fly. She was reborn into a body that no longer held her back. She could go anywhere and everywhere and nothing could stop her. Except the shells fired from a shotgun. Of all things.
All of this is to say, of course, that no one expects to have a third chance at life. And for quite some time, Jessamy herself doesn't even know. When she walks the earth again as a human, she knows that her name is Jessica Barnes. She knows that her parents died in a car accident when she was a toddler. She is told that they loved her very much. She knows that she doesn't remember her childhood - PTSD, she is told. For what, she is not sure and nobody seems to want to give away answers. She knows that she is drawn to history, to writing, to uncovering the truths of the past that still linger between the lines of a textbook.
The first time she sees Dream it is at the end of Professor Galden's lecture on a regular Tuesday. As his TA, she is at the back of the room. When she sees the lanky, dark haired man amble to the front of the hall, she doubletakes. Not because she finds it absurd for teachers to have partners, but because she swears she recognizes this man. From somewhere. She has another class across campus though, and Jessie's really not in the habit of stalking university faculty, so she makes a hasty exit. She still needs to talk to Robert about the classes' last exam scores, but an email will have to suffice.
The next time it happens, weeks later, the man stares back at her. He looks pained and she cannot, for the life of her, figure out why. She casts a glance toward Dr. Galden for help, but he looks just as confused as she feels. The man introduces himself as Morpheus, and something about that name is so achingly familiar. Morpheus Morpheus Morpheus.
She starts getting snippets, here and there. Tiny fragments of memory that she has no previous recollection of but the moment she experiences them, she knows that they are hers. A bus passes her on the street and she sees the wings of a thousand black birds. An undergraduate asks her about European rituals and she suddenly finds herself knowledgeable on the dark summoning magic from the 1800s. Eventually her name doesn't feel like her own anymore. Like she's outgrown it.
Finally, Dr. Galden's strange boyfriend (husband? partner? consort?) shows up in her dreams. She pushes through a door and ends up in an enormous white room with a thousand steps. Morpheus stands at the bottom of them, but the coat she's used to seeing has grown another several feet. It drags on the pristine floor. He is staring at her impassively, like he was expecting her. He doesn't appear to be in pain anymore. If anything, there is something akin to hope in his eyes. She should be afraid or at the very least startled by his ghostly appearance. She is not. She knows him.
"I know this place. Why?" "Because you are home, my dear Jessamy."

apparently i dont have a candle emoji but candle for the fic ask game?
🕯️was there a fic that was really hard on you to write, or took you to a place you didn't think it would take you?
Well, I'm currently struggling with getting the last Giving Sanctuary chapter out so that has been "tough" - but with regards to GS, I will definitely say it took me places I didn't expect to go.
I really just expected it to be a bit of a hurt/comfort feel-good story, "What if Dream took Hob in when he needed it most?" I knew on a broader level I was intrigued by Hob and Dream both being fathers to sons who had died as young men, so that was sort of percolating at the back of my head too as something to explore that would bring them together.
But I was really surprised by a few things:
1 ) Just how much Dream and Hob clicked in the story. I was(/am) actively working on "This Rough Magic" and "Come live with me" - the former I actually took a break from because I was struggling to get Dream and Hob to connect on a romantic level. The latter, CLWM, starts from a place where they're physical together from the outset, but Dream doesn't really respect Hob from the start, not really. He still views the relationship as sort of "fuck buddies" at best and thought a physical relationship would be enough to make Hob put up with housing him for a year during the wager's run, not understanding how sincere Hob's love of him is, and how many other options he has in his life, and how effected Dream would be both by that love and by jealousy when he realizes Hob's love might not be guaranteed and that it could be a casualty of the wager. So they're close but they're building a lot of elements from scratch in the relationship, like respect and communication. CLWM Dream still hasn't told Hob about Orpheus.
In contrast, Giving Sanctuary starts from a place of mutual respect and communication (on every front except romantic or sexual love, where both of them are hesitant for a variety of reasons - though, to be fair, "hesitant" to the tune of one week of keeping it to themselves lol).
And I was really shocked at how quickly Hob's openness about how devastated he was by his son's death, and Dream opening up about Orpheus, just... brought them together. There was none of this uphill battle sense I had with my other fics. Dream wasn't holding himself back. He respected Hob from the outset. It was a greater effort to keep their hands off each other, the call of grief to grief just slipped so naturally past Dream's habitual armor on this front, it was truly dizzying and unexpected to write.
2 ) The extent to which the story became about grief. Now, of course when dealing with 1689 and their dead sons, grief was going to be a factor. But the level to which I was able to take 20 years of writing experience and thought and, I daresay, maturity and apply it to this story as a meditation on grief was very rewarding but also surprising for a fic that sort of began with the crack concept of, "What if Dream spirits Hob away to his realm as a result of one of their historic meetings, and what if it was 1689?"
3 ) The audience reaction to GS has been very gratifying. I'm an angst writer at heart, for all that I'm making an effort to write comedy and action more often. So this was a return to form for me and it seems to have resonated with a lot of people in a way I wasn't expecting!

Theater of War
I have so many feelings and not enough words to state them
first of all THE CHASE SCENE my god Apollo whaling on Hob while he just fucking runs for his life?? perfection.
secondly andhera taking care of hob while also trying not to expose him if he doesn't want to reveal he's injured? YES PLEASE GIVE ME MORE
thirdly RUE BEING THE ONLY ONE CONSISTENTLY FOCUSED ON HOB'S HEALTH (INCLUDING HOB HIMSELF)????!?!?!?! YESS!!! YES OSCAR YES THAT IS JUST EXACTLY CORRECT because also like it's things like that that make it painfully obvious how enamored Rue is and yet Hob doesn't see it that way, doesn't notice it because he doesn't think he has any reason to find it, and even when he can't deny the things they do he finds another explanation that doesn't insinuate that the most elegant, honorable, courageous fey at the Bloom has fallen for stupid, subservient, cowardly Hob because how in the world could that be the truth? and also the metaphor of Hob literally trying to ignore his own pain until his life was actually endangered for the sake of political gains. i mean, who cares what happens to him, right? bringing consequences against prince apollo is much more important. except rue cares, and has for so long, and hob fails to see that
fourthly Hob and Rue I was begging for you to talk but NOT LIKE THIS. NOT LIKE THIS on the one hand I am absolutely sobbing and on the other I am so genuinely impressed by the storytelling capabilities of these players. the acting is impeccable and it makes me want to grab the two of them and shake them around a bit, or at least stick them in a room together for an extended period of time so they'll have time to get through all of their miscommunications before one of them storms off
fifth THEY GOT RENNER!!!!
sixth BINX!!! BINX I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART AND SOUL YOU MAGNIFICENT FEY thank you for being the person to say hey idiot, he loves you back you know. but also Rue's reaction to that was SO JUSTIFIED from their point of view. for all they know Hob received their raw, unedited declaration of utter adoration and didn't acknowledge it- even going as far as to give what Rue sees as a final rejection, agreeing to a political marriage for little more than a promotion. like yes that is perfect I love this cast I love Oscar so much but also I am going to be incoherent until the end of ep. 10 and even then it's a stretch
seventh IT WAS RUE! AND NOT FOR POLITICAL SUBTERFUGE, JUST FOR THE SAKE OF ENCOURAGING GENUINE LOVE OVER POLITICAL UNIONS there are so many possible events that could have resulted in the termination of gribalba's engagement but that was unequivocally the best choice imo. because now Hob is struggling with the exact dilemma Rue had fought to prevent, and on top of that they are declaring their love for them but apparently they did before?? how did he miss that??? and he's shocked and confused and maybe a little guilty but also he thinks he should be angry. he thinks he should still be furious that they maligned his court in this way and yet he can't, because how can he blame them for wanting to save someone from the pain he finds himself currently entrenched in? AND THE MOMENT IN THE HUNT you mean, Rue wasn't offended by his actions? then what the hell was the duel about? and also Wuvvy is here and she's not doing anything and altogether this is an influx of information that Hob was absolutely not expecting and he does not know how to deal with it but he thinks it might be explaining a lot of the things that had been hurting him since that fateful moment in the woods and he's starting to maybe, possibly, imagine a future where a graceful owl bear could actually love a pathetic goblin like him
(seven and a half) ANDHERA AND BINX! BINX AND ANDHERA!!!

But of a meta question here, but do you think the reason dream has trouble getting along with and relating to humans is (aside from being emotionally constipated) because of his pride? His prickly pride is what ruined his relationship with Nada. And nearly his relationship with Hob. And humans are…fairly irreverent. Like I adore the shenanigans people post about dream and hob, I just think dream would really struggle in learning not to take offense
Well... yes and no. Dream is obviously a prickly emo edgelord who wears eyeliner and listens to My Chemical Romance somewhere in a suitably brooding corner of the Dreaming, and we (deservedly) love ragging on him for it. But also, he isn't human, he is a collective manifestation of the human unconsciousness/sleeping mind, he has to tend that and keep it stable, and he really does think that the only way he can achieve that is by never changing in any way himself. In comics canon, afaik, he's also had some fairly major mistakes in the past -- he failed to destroy the first dream vortex and had to remake the entire universe as a result, his spectacular blowup with Nada and the whole Calliope/Orpheus thing, etc. So yes, when he's flung himself off on a passionate love affair and forget everything else, it has had literally apocalyptic consequences. Hence he does come at it from a place of thinking "I can't let myself fuck it up again," and acting as if it is better not to get attached to individual humans at all.
Except, well... Morpheus then spends 100 years in the corner fishbowl thinking about what he did, and aside from learning a little humility and remembering the fact that (thanks to Death) he actually does like humans after all, he is finally able to show that a little more. He likes Rose and doesn't want to kill her, he's tickled when Jed calls himself the Sandman, he goes back to Hob at the New Inn and actually apologizes to him, and even when he's taking John Dee back to the asylum after Dee almost killed him, he's... oddly gentle with him? Puts him back in bed carefully and leaves him to sleep and doesn't try to do anything else. So like, Morpheus does care, and he does care for individual humans, but he's just stupendously bad at showing it for any number of reasons. At least how I'm writing him in AITWW, he doesn't actually WANT to be a dick (it just, uh, comes naturally), and in his mind, he has reasons for what he's doing. But because Morpheus is in some ways the epitome of a Lawful Good character -- only and solely acting for what he perceives to be the greater good for everyone, strictly according to the rules -- it makes him brusque and cold and impersonal on the individual level, because he's always looking at such a bigger picture that a tiny fleck of sand (so to speak) doesn't matter. Until, of course, it does.
Anyway, yes, that was a longwinded way of saying that his pride and prejudice (ba-dump-tssh) is obviously a huge part of who he is, but it's come from a place of genuinely attempting to do what is right for everyone at all times, and guilt over his past mistakes. But because that kind of huge macro-scale model does not work with single individual people, the challenge for Morpheus is how to rejigger basically his entire way of looking at and interacting with the world, in order to relate to the humans he cares about (and who care about him) in a way they actually understand. Which is why I adore Hob basically giving him the Human Relationships For Dummies step-by-step manual, complete with literal flashing giant red signs, but you know. In a loving way.

5, 14, 25, 29, 38, 41 for Jaz and/or Alkimos! (you can do just one or both, up to you <3)
Hi babby~
Alright this is gonna be a long one so I'm gonna put this below a cut but let's gooooooooo!
5. How do they dress? What styles, colors, accessories, and other possessions do they favor? Why?
So Jaz likes to dress flamboyantly, with plenty of jewelry and meticulous make-up. His favorite colors are warm browns and pinks (mostly softer pinks). His jewelry is almost entirely gold with rubies and diamonds. It's absolutely to make himself look higher-class and powerful, he wants to look intimidating in every form. It is also a way to distance himself from his past as essentially a nothing. Alkimos meanwhile likes to dress either in nothing (in his true sphinx form, whereas Jaz wears a lot of jewelry and make-up even as a manticore) or in comfortable, sturdy, and looser clothing. He doesn't like his movement to be restricted, and he doesn't want something that'll rip or fall apart easily. He prefers light cool greys, white, and pastel purples. As a nod to Jaz he does have a few outfits that are a little fancier with finer make, but he doesn't wear them except when they're needed.
14. What do they care deeply about? What kind of loyalties, commitments, moral codes, life philosophies, passions, callings, or spirituality and faith do they have? How do these tend to be expressed?
They are loyal to each other first and foremost, since they've relied on each other for survival for so long. Beyond that they are committed to making life better for fablefolk, and will give a modicum of respect to the fieldfolk who actively help them in that goal. They generally have a bit different of a moral code than society at large, due to both being criminals and being fablefolk who grew up outside the walls of the city. They grew up wild and free and unafraid. They put on a veneer of respectability and lawfulness, obviously, to navigate within the city and it's government, but they have little loyalty to the people running the city. This is a problem to some in charge. It makes them a threat. I've also mentioned they have a specific focus on dismantling the cultural practice of Hunting. It's a hard battle, but Gallecross is already leagues ahead with considering fablefolk as people with rights compared to some other areas. They know that places outside of walled cities can exist with a peace between fieldfolk and fablefolk, they grew up in one that was destroyed by Hunting. But Jaz and Alkimos use at least some of their income to experiment with substitutes for magical ingredients that come from Hunted fablefolk, and are working on programs for sustainable harvesting of ingredients from (or rather donated by or bought from) fablefolk that are willing and compensated (Jaz sells his own venom for example, and things like shed dragon scales instead of fresh, etc, etc).
25. What do they need and want out of relationships, and how do they go about getting it?
(TLDR: these bitches need to know they're wanted and safe and won't be abandoned or betrayed, and they're only really able to get that from each other thanks to childhood trauma! But I'm gonna get a lil wordsy with it below.) Jaz hates the way playing politics has made him approach other people. He sizes them up, he analyzes what exactly he can get from them. Are they an ally? An asset? An obstacle? He plays the games he's required to play, smiles the smiles, shakes hands, says the right words at the right times. And he can read it behind their smiles that they are also just playing the game too. He can't trust any of them. If they find an edge, an angle, a single sliver of a weak spot, they will destroy him and everything he and Alkimos have worked for. And he cannot let that happen. He returns home after long hours of hob-knobbing with a bunch of absolute fucking tools, and finds himself falling asleep in Alkimos' arms, head pressed securely to his sphinx's rumbling chest. Jaz knows he's stubborn, knows he'll never be able to put into words what he actually needs, but Alkimos can read between his lines and holds him tight and stays there as sure and steady as a rock. In their quiet moments together, the sphinx makes sure the manticore is reassured about where his loyalty and affection lies, even if Jaz never truly asks. Alkimos, meanwhile, sees people not in how they can be useful, but how much of a problem they would be. Analyzing their threat level and sizing up how difficult it would be to Get Rid Of Them, if it became necessary. It exhausts him. It consumes him. He's woken up countless times from nightmares where he's sinking his fangs into a soft, pink-furred throat and watching those vibrant eyes, full of anger and betrayal, fade into death. On those nights he lays awake, watching Jaz sleep, pressed so close beside him. And he forces himself to remember what they've been through. And he forces himself to remember all that Jaz has done for him, all that Jaz has given him. He forces himself to remember the glint hidden in Jazakhza's eyes as he gives Alkimos gifts and favors and fawns over the sphinx. The desperation to be loved and to make sure the one you love never wants for anything, least of all to leave. And Alkimos wonders to himself how Jaz could think he'd ever even conceive of leaving.
29. What kind of activities, interests, and hobbies do they have? What significance and impact do these have in their lives, both positive and negative?
Well besides what they do for their work, they do enjoy messing around and experimenting with their respective magical arts (enchanting being Jaz's and potion making being Alkimos').
As large predatory creatures they also enjoy hunting for prey, and can get quite restless and snappish if they don't get out enough to do so. Unfortunately they're kind of stuck within the walls of Gallecross for the most part, so they usually either pay to rent out hunting space in the forests between the walls for a day or two...or any particular rivals or opposition they have that Won't Be Missed is going to have A Bad Time. Obviously they have to be very careful with that second option.
I'm also considering that they have a bad habit of adopting and pampering stray animals as pets. Jaz is particularly bad about this. They love him unconditionally ;_;
38. Is there anything they wish they could change about their worldview or thought processes? What, and why?
Besides both wishing they could find it within themselves to trust more easily? Jaz has a temper he wishes he could control better. He's usually very good due to his years practicing socializing in polite society, but there are a few triggers that cause him to react aggressively and (in some circumstances) explosively. He hates it because he considers that a weakness and the opposite of the social persona he's worked very very hard to cultivate. Alkimos meanwhile has a hard time experiencing strong emotions, particularly positive ones, and wishes he could change that to get more joy out of life and have more hope for the future. There are still the occasional instance where he will feel some kind of emotion stronger than usual, and he tries very hard not to let that distract him or cause him to try and chase that feeling.
41. What associations do they bring to mind? Words or phrases, images, metaphors or motifs? Why?
Jazakhza: Pastel roses, aged lace, antique jewel-encrusted brooches, soft fur, the smell of tea out in a garden. Alkimos: A thick morning fog, a heavy and warm coat, a guardian statue, distant wing-beats, the smell of oncoming rain.

2 for the end of year asks!! :]
(Ask post HERE)
Hiiiii <3
2. favourite fic of the year
I read too much fic. Hmm. Shit. We're turning this into Ryn's AO3 Wrapped: The Non-Embarrassing Version (Not An Exhaustive List At All). These were generally judged by how many times AO3 says I chose to re-visit them at 1AM and sob.
For screenreaders: Titles are hyperlinked, I'm @'ing the authors if I know they're on tumblr)
If they choose to see this: Hi. I think you're awesome. I'm just tagging you so people can find you #OnHere. I hope your Friday is rad. :)
Give him time by @obiwanobi personally came and murdered me when I went on another Star Wars kick back when Kenobi came out in June. Loosely canon-compliant, Obikin, and for big fans of characters who decide to re-work reality to bring the person they love back. Also, tragedy.
Accidental Baby Acquisition, which is basically What We Do In The Shadows + Baby. Carries the show tone off really well, is funny as hell, and features one of my favorite OCs ever in later installments in the form of Guillermo's sister Valentina.
The Uses of Adversity because I fell down The Sandman rabbithole like everyone else and "Crime Master!Hob", and this somehow became a comfort fic? He rescues Dream while imprisoned by Rodrick's son and it all spirals from there. Great characterization, great OCs, and there's a sequel happening!
Viable Alternatives, a House of the Dragon AU where Laenor exists to be more than a sad gay and artificial insemination exists! Big fan of how Rhaenyra doesn't get softened here and the Velaryons get more to do.
Time is a River was a real surprise to find, it's a time travel PJO AU that I thought was really fun--it makes Percy/Hermes work for me, which was a shock--and I kinda hope the author finds a sequel in them some day, (No pressure, of course; it was a gift to someone else, but also, it's rad and I want more).
I started reading Preserve or Raze by @foxyatlas before 2022, but the list doesn't feel right if I don't put it on here. It's a PJO AU where Percy winds up at Camp Jupiter, post-the original series, but I feel like it's cheating if I reveal the additional twist. Suffice to say, it is epic, has lots of shenanigans and worldbuilding, and I'd recommend it over Blood of Olympus anyday.
a girl who sees it all is super short, but it's a great Annabeth Chase bit, and I gotta include it.
Space Between is a Star Trek AOS one-shot in which Jim ruminates a lot in first person POV (I know! It's great! It works!) and looks pretty with his shirt off while Spock saves the day--as canon tends to go. Eventual love confessions ensue.
Went on a biiiig X-Men movies kick this year, which is the excuse for The Tower and the Hurricane being on the list. Set in a post-X-Men: First Class world where Magneto proves right and human-mutant war has ensued, and Xavier takes the school to his sanctuary. Lots of pining and tension set against a potential apocalypse, it's good times.
shoulder the sky (and the fic it inspired) is a fucking amazing Star Wars series featuring a lot of Obi-Wan whump, lot of pain, and a lot of the clones doing their best as the Jedi try to keep their shit together. 12/10, would watch everyone suffer again.
and we're gonna sing it again and again is the best Our Flag Means Death fic I have read, go argue with a wall.
kidnapping bruce wayne 'verse by @frownyalfred makes me laugh every time I read it, and is basically what it says on the tin: Bruce gets kidnapped a lot, he inevitably grows on the henchmen who are always contracted to kidnap him. There's a lot of unreliable POV in regards to A, the fact that Bruce is Batman, and B, Bruce is getting railed by Superman on a semi-regular basis, and it is prime comedy.
I regret nothing putting hand in unrebloggable hand (we go down together) on this list. Enjoy.
i won't be shamed by you is basically Buffy the Vampire Slayer is except Spike is really into reality TV and gradually infects the Scoobies with it. Background canon relationships, but the point is that Spike is invested in The Bachelor.
let not time deceive you (you cannot conquer time) is a modern The Old Guard AU where everyone is still immortal but Nicky is a millennial college student, with a lot of pining, lot of grad school and Catholic Church criticism, and a lot of angst. Also, Quynh shows up towards the end and she's a fucking delight.
I am not just recommending as wise as heaven and crueller than hell just because one of the stories was gifted to me by you. It's also fucking amazing PJO and possesses superior Nico and Luke characterization.

Hob doesn't do relationships. He doesn't hate love or anything, they're just not for him. He likes to sleep around and hook up with different people and any kind of relationship he maintains is strictly casual. And it was fine when he was 20, but now Hob's almost 30 and Joanna feels like Hob needs to grow up a bit. He doesn't need to settle down or make huge commitment, but it wouldn't hurt to give dating a try and maybe grow a little as a person.
So she gives him a talking to, and while he's resistant at first, he takes some time to really look at his life and he realizes that yeah, maybe she has a point. And she tries to tell him it doesn't need to be a complete lifestyle change, just a few more dates, a few less hook ups, but Hob doesn't do anything halfway. He declares that he will the next person he is attracted to and absolutely not have sex with until a few dates in when he's sure he likes them.
Dream, on the other hand, has a problem. He's approaching 30 and already has two divorces under his belt. He commits too much too fast and he's really bad at taking things slow in a relationship. So he asks Death for some advice and she suggests that maybe he should try some hook ups, to be with somebody where there aren't any expectations for the future. Yes, this is a good idea, Dream thinks. He's going to go out and find somebody to sleep with and will absolutely not let himself develop any feelings.
Dream and Hob end up in the same bar and Hob starts chatting him up. Dream is excited because this handsome man seems like the perfect place to start. They're really hitting it off, except this man seems like he wants...a date? Which is incredibly tempting, but Dream has promised himself that that's not what he wants. It's fine, he's sure he can convince this man to go home with him.
Hob has found the perfect candidate for a date. He's beautiful and they're getting along very well, but then the man makes it clear he wants to take Hob home for sex. Which, while very tempting, is not what Hob is after, but this man is way too good to give up on just yet. It's fine, he'll just have to try harder to convince this man to go on a date.
So they're stuck there, basically playing a game of chicken to see who will give up first. The chemistry between them is palpable, and neither is willing to totally give up and find someone else. Hob loses first. Dream plays dirty and starts whispering all kinds of things in his ear and Hob folds like a wet paper towel (Hob is a weak man, okay? he knows). But Dreams loses later when he invites Hob to stay and can't help making breakfast for him in the morning and says yes to a date before Hob even finishes asking again.
AJAJSJDHSH they're so fucking stupid aren't they? Unstoppable dumbass x immovable idiot.
I really enjoy the fact that they both ultimately completely fail in their objectives. Hob is such a sweet slut he can't not go home with Dream and suck his pretty pink cock. And Dream is such a hopeless romantic, he can't not develop feelings on that very first morning as Hob sings along with the radio and licks syrup off his fingers.
Hob suggests a compromise: they will inevitably date and fall in love and probably get married (Hob has decided this already, like we've already said, he doesn't do things by halves). BUT they can also play a little game. Every other week or so, they'll go out, and seduce each other all over again. Pretending to be complete strangers, coming up with new backstories each time. Thus, Dream will get to 'explore' new people and let go of all the inhibitions one tends to develop in a relationship.
Dream rolls his eyes fondly, because its sort of a terrible idea, but he loves that Hob is trying to arrange compromises for their relationship already. It's a good sign for the future, he thinks, and hey. Maybe they'll give the game a go sometime. It won't be so bad to let Hob seduce him, next time...

Hi, @chaosheadspace here. (Anon cause sideblog and stuff).
I have a question regarding your playlist for the playlist you made for your Dreamling band AU. (Which is very good, btw. I'm looking for new music atm and was elated being greeted with someone saying "I want to skin you alive". Glorious.)
Did you choose the songs you think they might have played or did you choose songs that embodied the characters and the setting for you? Please feel free to ramble at length.
Hello! Oh goodness... I'm so happy to receive this ask. I've never thought much about music while writing fics (I don't even listen to music while I'm writing, I find it very distracting) but given this is a BAND au, it was almost inevitable (90% of the songs on the playlist were added before I even published the fic). Allow me to ramble, since you've given me permission haha.
All of these songs already exist somewhere on my Spotify, I listen to a lot of indie and alt rock and remember coming up with the idea for Bolt in the Blue and daydreaming A LOT about Endless as a band and what they might sound like. So, while I was commuting to work, cleaning my apartment, doing laundry, I had my Spotify on a constant shuffle and every time a song popped up that made me think about Endless, I tossed it into a playlist. A lot of edits were made before I decided to publish the final draft lol.
So while this did start out as what I imagined Endless would sound like, I also started to think about what each member might contribute to said playlist. I thought of it like... when you're at a show and music is playing through the speakers while you wait in the crowd and the stage is being set up. I could picture the whole band making a playlist and contributing equally.
I tell you, and myself, that it's not that deep. It's music that gives me vibes for the band only, and doesn't reflect the fic at all. Well, except one song. Mile Deep Hollow by IAMX is such a Dream song to Hob that it makes me vibrate while listening to it now:
So thank you You need to know That you dragged me out Of a mile deep hollow And I love you You brought me home 'Cause you dragged me out Of a mile deep hollow
I mean... no explanation needed. Hob is Dream's light and is the one who inspires him and drags him up from a deep darkness (kind of spoiler but eh, I like to think I'm pretty predictable and we could all see that happening from a mile away).
But the other tracks? Eh... I mean some definitely give off vibes but I wouldn't connect any of them to the fic itself. Even the fic title, Bolt in the Blue, while obviously taken from the LPX song, is not indicative of the story at all (that's a separate post though, it's all a metaphor lmao). Which is why, secret's out, I'm currently building a new playlist that will go along with the fic chapter by chapter lol. But that won't be ready until Bolt in the Blue is finished. I kind of realized, very recently, that I wanted a proper playlist to go along with the themes and characters in the fic.
So, while Endless' Personal Playlist is exactly that- just songs that one: I imagine the band could actually write and perform but also two: all made together and music they'd all rock out to in their tour bus... this new playlist I'm making will accurately describe and emulate the plot. I'm having a fucking blast building it and can't wait to share it with everyone :)
And just for fun, here's who I think added what track to the Endless playlist (as I've stated in the past, music is subjective and who you connect each song to is up to interpretation. And here's mine, and yes, there are some repeats):
Dream:
Poison by Alice Cooper Mile Deep Hollow & The Great Shipwreck of Life by IAMX Nothing Personal by Night Riots Don't You Forget About Me by Billy Idol
Death:
Bolt in the Blue & Slide by LPX Stone Cold Crazy by Queen Shout by Placebo Holy Mother by Starbenders
Despair:
Human & High by Anavae Blue Monday by Orgy Everything Black by Unlike Pluto Stone Cold Crazy by Queen
Desire: High by Avavae Youth Gone Wild by Skid Row Shout by Placebo Modern Day Cain by IDKHBTFM Hang on to Yourself & Massacre, The New American Dream by Palaye Royale
Delirium:
Maniac by Carpenter Brut Youth Gone Wild by Skid Row Call Me a Saint by YOKANA Don't You Forget About Me & Mony Mony by Billy Idol
Alright, I'm finished lol THANK YOU for letting me ramble!! I hope everyone reading enjoys the rock n roll or at the very least discovers something new from the playlist :D

2!
Hounds of Love by The Futureheads. Oh! What a gem!! I first loved this song when I was a wee bab and rediscovered it this past summer. It, along with all my top songs, was on a summer driving playlist which is why it is so insanely high haha. There's a sort of lovely pastoral wildness to this and I think that suits our lads so well.
An outdoorsy AU with competence kink out the wazoo, where Dream is a bird specialist at a wildlife rehabilitative centre, who becomes a minor TikTok celebrity (much to his enormous apathy) when the centre starts doing interpretive meet-birds events and the internet falls in love with this dour hottie who only smiles when he's talking about birds (Matthew, naturally, runs the account). Hob is a hunter - bow, mostly - who is regrettably very on TikTok, very on all social media - he hates the term but he is unquestionably an 'influencer'. He just likes sharing his knowledge and passion, alright? And the gear sponsorships are nice.
He sees Dream, and sees, mostly, a really great collab opportunity, so he messages him, and Dream (who is Matthew, and just shouted HOB FUCKING GADLING? IN MY DMs? at his phone when he got the message, immediately sets up a meeting at the centre. Then he breaks the news to Dream, specifically when Dream is holding Jessamy, so he can't be murdered.)
Dream, of course, expects Hob to be some like, swaggering font of red-blooded machismo talking points, and suspects Hob is only popular because he looks like an advertisement in Outdoor Living. (Matthew showed him pictures.) He disregards Matthew, who says Hob is actually super cool, because Matthew has terrible taste and would be the first to admit it. But his interest is piqued when Lucienne also knows who Hob is. It turns out Hob is deeply involved in nature and wildlife conservancy. Gives talks at schools. Gets involved with land protection initiatives. Teaches orienteering to youth. But everyone seems to expect him to hate Hob, which he would find faintly insulting except that he also expects himself to hate Hob. He doesn't. Not that much. Even when he shows up in a plaid shirt that is made of 'technical' fabric, because he's smart and excited to talk to Dream about birds, has an encyclopedic knowledge of the history of falconry, and most importantly, Jessamy takes to him immediately.
They run into each other again at a renaissance fair, another thing Dream hates but has been strong-armed into doing, and so they are both dressed in very silly clothes when it happens: the first time Hob watches Dream demonstrate falconry, the first time Dream watches Hob use a longbow made from a yew tree he fell himself, the first time they go from a wary sort of respect for one another to a wanting.
Dream, who has a recurring fantasy about running away from it all, listens to Hob tell tracking stories and thinks, If I went into the woods, you would find me. But he doesn't want to run from Hob - except sometimes, when he sees Hob chew on his lip consideringly before giving a thoughtful answer about the guiding industry, or when Hob grins wildly at the crowd after his archery demonstration, and most of all, when Hob phones him out of the blue one day - he doesn't text, he phones - sounding a little breathless with excitement, and asks Dream if he wants to come with him for a week in the mountains, on "probably a wild goose chase" and promises "all sorts of birds if nothing else." (Hob had meant to only share the news with Dream. Fuck, he thinks. I am so fucked.)
He says yes, for the birds, of course, and tells Matthew the next time he's at the centre.
"So what's the wild goose chase?" asks Matthew.
Dream plumbs his memory of the phone call and says, "Hob told me he received a bighorn sheep tag." Matthew gapes at him.
"Holy shit," says Matthew. "He's in love with you."
"He is certainly not."
"Uh, no, respectfully boss, he 'certainly' is. Lucienne!" he shouts, "Hob invited Dream to come out on his Dall sheep tag. What the fuck, right?"
Lucienne comes in and raises her eyebrows. "Oh dear," she says. She's smiling.
"What," says Dream. "It's a sheep. I don't understand."
Lucienne and Matthew exchange a glance.
"Him. I cannot believe Hob chose him," says Matthew.
"Love works in mysterious ways," says Lucienne.
"I am right here," says Dream.
Matthew turns to him, "Have fun in Alberta," he says.
this would ft. nights of wild stars, rugged terrain, type ii fun, sexual tension around a campfire, homoerotic form checks, tent sharing, dream glassing beautiful birds with hob's $3000 binoculars while hob stares at him in abject adoration, dream watching hob strip off his clothes and jump into an alpine lake, and refusing to join him out of pretended prudishness when it's really because he's suddenly so hard it hurts, camp coffee, confessions about themselves instead of confessions about their feelings for each other, sore muscles for a VARIETY of reasons, and lots of allegories about wildness and taming and running away from things, and SO MUCH COMPETENCE KINK, friends. so much. i would probably write it like - act one them leading their separate lives, their desires and aches etc., act two - meetcute and circling one another, act three - The Trip. this one has a very happy ending i can tell

20 Questions for fic writers
Let's goooo
How many works do you have on Ao3?
36! Well that's certainly A Number
2. What's your total Ao3 word count?
585,468 (gonna his the 600k soon)
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Which don't I write for? Lol. Mostly Naruto and Hannibal. I've also written several fics for TMA, MCU, Ace Attorney, The Sandman, and fics for OFMD, GO and the Witcher.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Shinra Tensei (Naruto: Akatsuki!Sakura fic(
you may be a sinner, but your innocence is mine (cute hannigram)
howl (non-trad a/b/o hannigram)
brighten the darkest hour (sandman hob/dream, but only bc i posted it on the right time i think tbh)
hold me, kiss me, rip off my tongue (plot and porn hannigram)
5. Do you respond to comments?
Absolutely! Not super fast, but I keep all the comment alerts in a folder of 'not yet answered' and move them from that folder when I've responded. In general the longer/more detailed the comment the more I try to give a very nice reply because I appriciated the comment. That can be hard to do without spoilers or leaving people to interpret the story how they like, sometimes.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
absolutely butterfly. I mean everyone dies. It's super tragic. Only time I really sat down to write an angst fic
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
probably Cooking for a Cutie (hannigram x queer eye). I mean, Will gets actual help, the Fab Five are wholesome and in character, and it's really just happy all is well vibe in general.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not on Ao3. I used to post on ff.net as well, both when I was a younger (and less good) writer, and got hate there. Even on Shinra Tensei when I used to post it there. Which I stopped. Because ff.net in my experience had so much haters compared to Ao3, where I've gotten criticism, yes, but not hate.
9. Do you write smut?
Heh. Yeah. Though often they are shorter fics that are centered around the sexual tension, with some exceptions (like my Steddy Hands fic) and for my big novels who are more dystopian vibe I don't write smut, because it doesn't fit. It has to fit the plot/themes of the story.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you have written?
A bit - I wrote a good omens/sandman crossover, and the aforementioned hannibal/queer eye crossover. But they are not very crazy, honestly, keep to both of their canons as much as possible, too. I wouldn't consider them crazy (though the second one more so than the first).
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yeah! A couple of times, all of them Hannigram, I think. All of them in Russian at the Russian fic site, and they asked permission and I linked to that fic site too. I even went their once to read the comments there hihi
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Nope. I did do a collab once where someone made art and I wrote fic. That was nice, but honestly not my favourite experience, especially the deadline attached to it. Same reason I've done a zine once but aren't a fan of it (for me) or those weekly prompts thing or whatever. I want to write when my muse is on, when I have time and energy for it, otherwise it isn't fun anymore. Co-writing a fic would also only be pressure for me.
14. What's your all time favorite ship?
Hmm... honestly, I think my favourite thing to write is the dynamic between the protagonist and the fucked up world they live in (maybe personified through a saviour or villain). So... yeah?
15. What is a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I have two I want to finish but fear I'll never have the inspiration for again - one is a CR RPF fic that I have the second (smut) chapter half-written for, but I wrote such a long time ago I would have to re-write the whole thing, and I'm not sure I want to anymore. Second is a TMA JonElias fic I've written 4.5 out of 5 chapters for and I just don't have the muse for anymore. Maybe I'll finish the second one someday, but I'll probably won't finish the first.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Difficult for me to say about myself, lol. Uh. Worldbuilding, I think, and character voice? And fight scenes, or at least that's what people like about my Naruto fic. It also depends a bit on the thing I write fanfiction for. I'm honestly not quite sure. I'm not good at naming my own strengths lol
17. What are you writing weaknesses?
Writing things in too many words / using too many words, including over-used unnecessary words I think. Or worldbuiling something an obvious way and then missing an obvious question. Although that last one is also style, I don't worldbuild everything to the detail.
18. Thoughts of writing dialogue in another language in fics?
Not a fan, honestly. It can be done well - a very small couple of lines in another language said by a random not-even-minor character with the translation at the end of the chapter or otherwise somehow provided. But it can mostly be confusing and cause me to scroll up and down annoyingly.
19. First Fandom you wrote for?
LOL Jonas Brothers self-insert fic in my native language which thankfully never saw the light of day HAHA
20. Favorite fic you have written?
Oh most certainly my life's work Shinra Tensei and the sequel Bansho Ten'nin. Not only my biggest and longest fic, but also the one I love most. Which is why I started writing it around like 2015 (posted first chapter in like 2017) and am still writing it, and finally moving into the 4th and last arc soon.
