I'm here to spread my Ninjago neurodiversity headcanons
because this fandom does not have enough of it and I felt like it. Also because i missed neurodiversity week by one day.
uhh yeah. I wanted to have an art too but I didn't expect posting this so soon-
Anyways.
Zaneeee the classic yay.
He's definitely neurodivergent.
I don't think he'd identify as anything in particular, but he identifies as neurodivergent cuz he's a nindroid and because of that doesn't fit in or think like neurotypicals.
He's a bit of an outlier because of that tho, even in neurodiverse places.
He's decently public because he's too innocent to see how anything could go bad just because he shared it. Poor Zane, bless him :,) he definitely ended up being harassed at least once.
Cole because everybody overlooks him and I'm disappointed /hj
Okay this man is autistic. Tell me otherwise. Tell me otherwise right now. Like have you seen him.
He's very closed off about being autistic. I feel like Lou was definitely not very accommodating of it and encouraged him to mask n stuff, (which btw can lead to a huge number of anxiety and self worth issues later down the line, so do not force people to mask).
There's a lot of stigma associated with autistic people that I feel like Cole definitely wouldn't enjoy, so he keeps it pretty tight under wraps and tries to mask when he can.
He especially doesn't like telling people he knows because he doesn't want a close friend to potentially start treating him like an infant or helpless, or assume he has no emotions or starting to distance themselves from him.
He hid it from the Ninja for the first few seasons. Around after S4-5 when he and Jay had become close again he decided to tell him. I feel like he was jealous or impressed by how open Jay is in comparison (we'll get to him in a moment) and how accepting the others were. Jay's reaction is easily summed up as *HAPPY NEURODIVERGENT SOLIDARITY SCREAMING* but also "I feel stupid for not connecting the dots" and then they went from bffs to... also bffs. But now they get to make adhd and autism jokes together.
Jay helped him be more comfortable and feel more confident in himself and he finally told the other Ninja after DotD because he ended up experiencing several massive sensory overloads at some point, since being autistic made it so that the issues you'd have from finally being able to touch things after a year or two would've been amplified ten fold, so he kinda had to tell them because it stuck around for several weeks.
He still isn't very public about it towards strangers, but he's getting better about feeling comfortable with it himself and not, yknow, experiencing social anxiety 24/7 around his friends.
He's definitely on like the mild-mid end of the spectrum. He doesn't need too many accommodations, but he does experience sensory issues and might need alternative explanations for some things.
He's usually pretty closed off when he first gets to know somebody, but overtime when he does get to know them and becomes comfortable with them he gets pretty social and sarcastic with them, which doesn't always go well since he can't tell when someone gets legitimately hurt or offended or when it's just part of the joke, so being more public about it with his friends has made it so they can communicate better with that type of stuff :D
...You may notice that this one is substantially longer than the rest and the reason for that is because I'm autistic so I feel more confident about writing about an autistic character. And also because autistic Cole makes me feel represented because way too many autistic characters are either robots (which is fine, but one of my symptoms is I have difficult to relate to those types of characters) or very stereotypical. So.
I try to keep the others shorter because I don't trust myself as much with those LOL.
Also he may be colorblind, but he's not sure.
Uhh Jay
Yeah
He has adhd, probably a comorbidity too like OCD or smthn. He's in the very hyperactive group, and he's pretty public about it because he feels comfortable with who he is and doesn't really care if some idiot takes issue with it (or well, pretends like he doesn't care, except he actually does)
And ye, that's uh, about all I have to say because I'm super hungry and tired sooo
Byeeee

A little add-on to my complaint from last night.
I feel like ADHD has been trending in Finnish media as of late. There have been lots of articles about adults that get diagnosed with it, and almost all of them mention how starting medication has changed the person’s life and made everything so much better.
On the one hand, I’m glad. Good for them, and good for everybody that there’s more representation and information out there, so more people can figure out the reason why they’re struggling and get diagnosed.
But on the other hand, I’m getting pretty sick of the medication-changed-my-life narrative, because for me, it didn’t, and I’m sure there are others out there who share that experience. My personal experience is that I get nasty side effects from a lot of the available medications... and the one I’m on, whose side effects I can deal with, “only” helps me out somewhat. My mind feels calmer, and I can stay focused for a longer time in certain situations, but I still struggle with a lot of things in my daily life.
Dunno. I’m genuinely glad for those people whose life takes a huge turn for the better once they start taking medication, but I kinda wish the media would also feature other kinds of narratives about adults with ADHD. A big change may be many people’s genuine experience, but it’s not a realistic expectation for every single person out there waiting for their diagnosis. After all, it’s a different experience for each of us, with a varying set of symptoms, and there’s probably lots and lots medical science doesn’t even understand about neurodiversity yet... and so, for some of us, the meds that are currently available unfortunately cause unbearable side effects and/or only make life, like, 15% better.
Bleh. Feeling very tired this week.

Some of my recent doubts
Recently realized that I'm autistic. I've read and watched so much information about that this month, and I'm quite sure I'm actually autistic, not just my misconceptions. And also a few years ago I already did the huge research, but I rejected it, because the same moment I was depressed and anxious??? and when I "healed" (I was taking medicine for prescription) I was thinking that the reason of my difference was depression and anxiety, but the fact is that 'difference' never disappeared AND it existed before this all. Now I guess my depression and anxiety was the consequences of my neurodiversity. Should I write more about my autistic experience?
The rest of the post is about my office work problems.
Not sure if I have ADHD or not, looks like it, but I need more research, and psychotherapist to talk with. At the moment I have huge difficulties with my office work, and it starts since I worked my first time. Never thought it would be so hard to concentrate on the common computer work, I was quite good at studying in the technical school (I'm an accountant), and this is the situation when learning wasn't as hard as fighting (in my country there's an idiom sounds like "difficult at learning - easy at fighting" or smth like that). The difficulty is in concentration and remembering things and multi-tasks, and especially deadlines. I always get nervous. But since I changed my job (switched one office to another, and almost a year I work here) and get a little different type of work, I started to feel better, and considering the different workload during the reporting period, I have many time to chill at work. But there's a different side of the coin - I'm starting to get used to sticking to my smartphone and doing it even if I have a work to do (never urgent, but it's better to do it right away). I think this is my personal problem, which should be solved by willpower, and it's not adhd.
But I have a need to talk to someone often and no opportunity to make friends here at the job because everyone is older than me at least in 10 years..... and I just feel it would be inappropriate if i...speak. Even if everybody is talking to each other about nothing, I just can't start doing the same or keep up the conversation?? Do they think I'm not friendly... I know boss lady likes me (the parental way probably?) She is kind and smiles to me a lot, and I am smol little rabbit 🐇🤲 with a stone-face 🗿 can you imagine. Sometimes my face goes 😳 but usually 🗿 or 😶. Anyway I have a frustration. Talk to meeeeeeeee (my colleagues, which I'm already used to)
I disabled most of the notifications I have during the day, and started to do to-do list (ahahahaahah lol to-do-to-do), so I can concentrate better. It helps, but sometimes I have an irresistible desire to google something RIGHT NOW, so next few minutes at work I read some useless information in the internet.
P.S. self-diagnostics is OK
HOW CAN I JUST LIVE AND WORK AND BE HAPPY, JESUS CHRIST SAVE MY MENTALITY (the scream from the soul)
I have to eat rn so I end up this post, good luck everyone who read this, have a good day.

TSSides Anti-Fairytale AU
I’m not coming for fairytales. They have their place, but as an aromantic person...I do not feel seen. And then I decided to re-watch Enchanted (pirated, of course, because fuck Disney). And then this idea happened.
Patton was a child-king who married his best friend when forced to, and then she died in childbirth. He’s given Roman everything he could, but he’s lived his life dictated by the advisors who’ve used him as a puppet king his whole rule. He’s miserable because he doesn’t like how the system functions but he thinks he’s chained to tradition.
Roman copes with his complicated relationship with his father by questing and almost dying, like, every other week. Anxious attachment for days. Boy keeps trying very hard to find a princess and can’t seem to figure out why nothing will stick. To which Patton goes “oh. He got it from me. Oops.”
All I know is Remus is aromantic and aplatonic and exactly as chaotic as he should be.
Roman’s birthday. Ball. The classic. He greets all the noble families and he’s seen those losers a bunch before, but this time, he meets a new “girl” with a family he usually hates who intrigues him. He is not a girl and I will not be misgendering him because ew, but, gist: Virgil, transphobic rich parents forcing him to conform to gender roles, absolutely miserable, in Peak Bitch (gender-neutral) form. Roman mistakenly believes he’s cured and talks Virgil up a lot. Convinces himself he’s fallen madly in love.
Problem is, he tells Patton, who’s shocked he found a “girl” but absolutely is on-board, and then goes to the family to ask for Virgil’s hand and there’s no Virgil.
Thus begins the Mulan ripoff but openly trans where Virgil poses as a boy servant at the castle because his parents can’t get into the castle willy-nilly and it’s the safest place to be. Absolutely loathes Roman’s very existence because that dumb bitch flirted with him while he was a girl and therefore VIrgil thinks he is The WorstTM. Then Roman catches him grouching about and decides to solve this by teaching him sword-play, mostly to give him the excuse to beat on a dummy with a sword-shaped stick.
Meanwhile Roman is just le sigh I did it again. I connected more with a boy than a girl. Why did she have to run away? Now I’m doomed to be weird.
Well then assassins break into the castle and Ever-Paranoid Virgil immediately susses them out as bad news and uses the remnants of the ball to absolutely wreck them when they try to kill Roman and his father while they’re taking a rare opportunity to chat and bond. Patton decides he is Adopting This Child, fuck you, advisors, he’s as thin as a stick, and Virgil now gets to eat with the royal family.
It’s the first time Patton has ever actually told his advisors to go fuck themselves. It’s the first step toward a positive turnaround and it happened because Patton’s dad instincts took over and nothing in the world is more valid than that, fight me.
Enter genderqueer icon morally neutral witch, Janus, all pronouns, who’s trying to topple the monarchy to enact lasting change and didn’t want to dirty her hands right away, but honestly people are so unreliable. So he gets onto Patton’s crew as a handmaiden and excuse you who gave the king permission to be actually endearing?
Roman feels slightly weird because Patton’s calling Virgil “kiddo” and he’s not calling him his son but he also treats him very similarly as he does to Roman and Remus, which isn’t great but is significantly better than it could be, but Roman’s got a crush.
Then Janus finds out Virgil’s trans and reveals this. Virgil thinks he’s about to get blackmailed into murdering the only people who have ever cared about him and then Janus just rolls their eyes like “excuse you I’m evil not psychopathic. I can give you a potion to make your body reflect your mind. You in?”
“Great, so my only cure to stop feeling like frozen trash reheated in a forest fire is to accept the highly dangerous bribe of a definitely evil witch! Thanks! I hate it!”
Yes Virgil memes even in a fantasy world where Tumblr doesn’t exist.
Also Virgil and Roman are bonding. A lot. They’re getting very close and Virgil even lets slip that he loves Roman and then tries to fling himself out a window. Roman gets touched, stops him, and tries to kiss him, but Virgil leans away. Roman expresses confusion.
“I...I love you, but I don’t want to kiss you.”
“I don’t understand.”
“I don’t either. But I’ve...never wanted to kiss anyone. For any reason.”
“But...you still love me?”
“I do. I’m sorry.”
Roman...doesn’t feel as rejected as he thinks he maybe should? Honestly, it’s not totally a relief, but it’s just kinda...neutral. It’s not even a disappointment.
Well, Janus is not evil and actually wants to run a kingdom (instating a committee mixed of educated rich fucks and working class receiving education) a whole lot more than Patton, who thinks she’s just...kinda awesome and very misunderstood. There’s a lot of hissing and grumbling that they’re not misunderstood, they’re evil, they don’t even have a tragic backstory, they just kill people to enact the change they want to see, just because they got ditched in a forest as a baby and was raised by a magic snake means nothing. The snake was a very loving and supportive parent.
Roman talks to Patton and Patton is like “fuck marriage rules. Fuck heteronormativity. Fuck my advisors. My kingdom is a haven for the gays. All the gays. Of every color. Come here and be merry and queer.”
Virgil’s just like “yo no reason but in this new world where it’s okay to love whatever gender is it maybe cool to be a boy when the world says you’re a girl?”
Janus draws a knife and glares at Patton and Patton’s just like “even if my partner wasn’t threatening to kill me I’d say it was fine why?”
“No reason.”
“Virgil.”
“What?”
“Is there something you want to share?”
“No.”
“Is there something you need to share?”
“Fuck you.”
“You’re being defensive again, Storm Grouch.”
Virgil sticks his tongue out. “Fine. People used to think I was a girl and I have a stupid body. Happy?”
And Patton learns from Janus the fine art of Validating The Fuck Out Of Gender.
The advisors stage a coop and lock Janus in an anti-magic cage, and then at the same time Virgil’s biological nightmares track him down and steal a spelled green apple from Janus’ shop they give Virgil. You know the drill. Deep sleep like death, yadda yadda.
Well, they immediately claim the body making a big dramatic deal about how they have to bury “her” and they’ll take “her” home to see her off and it’s so tragic, just as they were reunited, when the reality is they have the antidote back home, they’re just looking for control over his life again.
Except Roman goes off. “He is staying here where he--where he will be buried under the name Virgil dressed properly and if you came anywhere near his body I’ll kill you myself.”
Guess what constitutes a totally platonic, non-kiss related act of queerplatonic true love, bitch? Fighting your transphobic partner’s parents over their dead body.
Kingdom’s retaken, sweeping reform while Patton retires to be a stay at home dad to fix his relationship with his kids. Virgil gets formerly adopted. The stepparent is actually a morally neutral genderqueer witch who runs the kingdom fairly and justly, the central love story is trans and aromantic, and my queer ass is something resembling happy.
Logan is probably one of the advisors and the only one with sense who probably starts knocking off his coworkers after the coop because they’re all deeply, deeply stupid. Remus probably spends half the story making friends with a troll he brings in to save the day in the third act.

hey, i would love to hear your thoughts about edward and ocd!!! honestly i don't know if i've ever seen that elaborated on before, would love to hear more!
Omg okay thank you so much for asking!!!! Dumped a load of thoughts over private messages this morning so I'll drop those with a couple of edits if I have better clarity now lmao
Okay yes so,,,,,,, to start. What do we know about Edward? He grew up in a time that was pretty repressed. He also died quite young without a great deal of experiences under his belt. As a vampire he hears everybody's thoughts all the time. He has a very strong sense of right and wrong. Etc etc
So like we understand he is ace like; he never shows sexual interest in anyone other than Bella, he KNOWS what sexual attraction looks like in people's thoughts, and he really knows that he doesn't have that. Maybe he even goes through all those phases of thinking he's weird, thinking he's better than everyone, not caring at all, idk he has a century for identity crisis really. Love that for him. I hc that he pretty much understands his feelings on it by the time of the book even though he may not necessarily identify as "asexual" per se, if asked if he was that he'd probably say yes
And I am convinced he has OCD. I've got another post about this that I can try to find and reblog again where we've discussed Twilight & neurodiversity which I really love. So obviously everyone gets thoughts in their brain that are uncomfortable and the disorder part of OCD comes from when you can't shake them, you become obsessive over them (source: me and the research I have done on my own mental illness thank you). As a vampire who doesn't want to kill humans, you frequently get unpleasant intrusive thoughts about killing humans. As a vampire who can read other vampire's minds it's even worse. The way Edward sees himself as inherently evil because of his "vampire instincts" is SO familiar to me as how I used to see myself before I better understood my OCD I just think it's all there!!! He's getting all these intrusive thoughts about his worst nightmare and he CAN'T SHAKE THEM
And like we know that Carlisle considers himself to be a monster and that's where Edward got all those thoughts from but it doesn't bother Carlisle as much because he's not got OCD whereas Edward does which is why he's so fixated on it it all makes SENSE
So then he meets Bella. A human. Who his FIRST thought when he smells her is how much he NEEDS to kill her. For an hour he sits with intrusive thoughts about completely abandoning his morals to kill a room of humans over her. It's horrible for him. I actually go back and read this extract of Midnight Sun even though I can't actually finish the damn thing because it's a horrible scene to read and it really speaks to the way he struggles with his mental health as a character. And then beyond this scene he never really stops getting intrusive thoughts about Bella because he *knows* how fragile she is and simply because it bothers him so much
SO THEN we finally get back to how this looks to his sexuality because!! He's never had to think about this before. But he suddenly finds himself deeply romantically involved with a human. Does she desire him? He doesn't think so until she clarifies that she really does, but he thinks about it. And he's scared because it comes with it a whole new set of intrusive thoughts. That relate to the possibility of sexual activity and how much he could hurt Bella in that situation. He's terrified of this happening as we see the entire time Bella is human
I think it's so interesting how throughout the series, any desire to have sex with Bella whether that's through sexual attraction as a demisexual or grey ace, or as an activity he's happy to do to make Bella happy, it's always first considered through the lens of his OCD. And like what's always heartbreaking to me is that when they DO first have sex, because Edward convinces himself it's fine and he can control himself and he's maybe not evil if Bella loves him so much she'll marry him-- he hurts her. Not much but he does. Which really adds to how much he doesn't want it to happen again!! Because he's terrified of himself and really believes he's a monster
Anyway it's all so compelling to be because it's so so hard when your sexuality and mental illness interact and then as an immortal all powerful vampire who can read minds, that experience becomes even more unique yknow??
I could really talk about it forever but these are my main thoughts?? Thanks for enabling me lmaoo

Slur of affirmation...?
Hello there! I know I’m a self-proclaimed reblogger and my personal ramblings aren’t probably what you follow me for, so I apologize in advance. I just feel I need a blank space to shout my feelings in, so here we go.
TW: the r-slur, casual ableism, a whole lot of imposter syndrome
I am an autistic girl. At least, I like to think I am.
The label is extremely important to me. I was diagnosed late, aged 16, so I spent most of my teenage years and my whole childhood in the dark about what even am I.
I’ve always had issues. Picking up basic skills and being self-sufficient, making friends, expressing myself, controlling my emotions, adapting to social norms, you name it. I’ve experienced both meltdowns and shutdowns and sensory difficulties. I was switching constantly between doubting my capability to feel feelings and dealing with sudden outbursts of rage, gloom and hate towards myself that usually ended up with me yelling at someone or breaking stuff.
I had my special interests that I used to talk about almost constantly (...some things never change) and an atypical speech pattern that has also stayed with me to this day. Coupled with my rather poor social skills and... uh... “fiery” reactions, I was bullied relentlessly all through the kindergarten (2 years) and elementary school (which in our country lasts 9 years). In high school, I was on peaceful terms with everybody but still generally disliked.
Anyway, why am I typing all of this? It sounds like a sob story absolutely irrelevant to the topic.
I just wanted to provide context for my mindset.
When growing up, I didn’t know I was autistic. I didn’t know that there are people just like me, or at least very similar to me, or that some things that I’m being chastised for aren’t actually bad (e.g. stimming), and those that are could get better if only I knew how to protect myself (e.g. meltdowns).
I simply thought I was evil.
And today, a friend of mine called me a r*tard. We have this sort of a slightly questionable relationship where he acts in a very abrasive and demeaning manner to me in public as a running joke but is sweet to me in private. I know, that sounds messed up but since I know he doesn’t mean it and he’s saying it only to be an edgelord, I don’t register it as harmful. But I digress!
Today he said I was “his favorite r*tard” in a public chat after I said hello.
I don’t reclaim the slur in any way, shape or form. I actually find it very uncomfortable and in my friend circle it’s known that I don’t enjoy being called that. The friend in question doesn’t reclaim it either, he’s neurotypical (as far as I know).
But!
It made me feel... good this time?
(that sounds awful, I’m sorry)
I spend a lot of time just casually doubting my diagnosis.
My diagnosis helped me a lot to understand myself, to find resources and people to relate to, to find the vocabulary for my experiences. It helped me hate myself a bit less.
But something in my brain yells that I don’t deserve any of that. I must be a faker, right? Because I always am. I’m a vile pretentious person that only emulates emotions of others and everything about her is fake, made up to garner social points and to sift away resources.
I’m not self-dxed. My stance on self-diagnosis is that it’s valid anyway (at least in case of autism and similar). Professional diagnosis is a privilege that not everyone has.
But even having that coveted paper from my psychiatrist doesn’t help persuade my brain in the slightest.
Because she didn’t diagnose me properly, right?
Basically my therapist did an evaluation and then forwarded me to her saying she suspects I probably am autistic. And the doctor was like, “Whatever,” and she gave my mother a piece of paper.
So when I get called the r-slur that is used to dehumanize and attack neurodiverse people, I feel... affirmed.
They recognize me as an autistic enough to demean me for it!
Today was the first time I felt that. Usually I feel only discomfort around the slur but today... today it was the slur of affirmation and I feel guilty for even saying that.

I have thoughts about what Matt said in the twitch chat tonight, about Dodecagate, and how people critique/hate on Caleb in general when it comes to the decisions Liam makes for him.
Matt is always really diplomatic and empathetic - he can see both sides of most issues and I don’t judge him for that. I think its an excellent trait to have.  What he said in chat just kind of reminded me of something I’ve been thinking about for awhile. I still appreciate Matt for even bothering to look at all the angles. Though, that is kind of his job as a DM.
Here is why I struggle: Caleb's “miscommunications” are because the others misconstrue his motives and they have from the VERY BEGINNING. Even the hoarding of items, they were wrong about why he did that. Just because something is mathematical or analytical doesn’t mean it can’t also be coming from a place of empathy or a need/want to please a group.
As an autistic person, a lot of the things said about Caleb remind me so much of shit that gets said about me. He’s selfish, he only thinks about how to gain things, he’s hard to read and therefore its not anybody else’s fault that they misunderstand him... It smacks so much of allistic privilege and I probably won't ever get over that. I am constantly bending over backward to "appear" correctly just so that the allistics I love (and some I don't love) don't take me the wrong way. But they do anyway because they’re operating under an assumption that everybody presents the same way they do. I'm tired.
Now, I’m not saying that Caleb is autistic. (Though boy I do love me some headcanons)  What I am saying is that the idea that someone is hard to read, whether it be because of trauma or personality or neurodiversity, does not make it ENTIRELY their fault when others misunderstand them and it also definitely does not mean that every fucking decision they make is automatically “selfish” or “cold” just because they also happen to be analytical in nature.

Gatekeeping neurodiversity is artificial, socially constructed, and subjective
In modern progressive thought, there are two co-existing ways of looking at atypical brains:
1) Mental illness
2) Neurodiversity
The orthodoxy is that mental illness is bad, while neurodiversity is good.
How do we define mental illness? Well, for starters, do we even? The WHO, for example, prefers the term “mental disorders”, defined:
Mental disorders comprise a broad range of problems, with different symptoms. However, they are generally characterized by some combination of abnormal thoughts, emotions, behaviour and relationships with others. Examples are schizophrenia, depression, intellectual disabilities and disorders due to drug abuse. Most of these disorders can be successfully treated.
The charity Mind also does not use the phrase “mental illness”, instead defaulting to “mental health problems”. For their part, they say:
In many ways, mental health is just like physical health: everybody has it and we need to take care of it.Good mental health means being generally able to think, feel and react in the ways that you need and want to live your life. But if you go through a period of poor mental health you might find the ways you're frequently thinking, feeling or reacting become difficult, or even impossible, to cope with. This can feel just as bad as a physical illness, or even worse.
So mental health issues, or mental disorders, involve:
Some combination of abnormal thoughts, emotions, behaviour and relationships with others.
The ways you frequently think, feel, or react become difficult or even impossible to cope with.
Mental health is changeable - you can go through periods of good or bad mental health.
By contrast, neurodiversity is defined by academic Nick Walker as follows:
Neurodiversity is an essential form of human diversity. The idea that there is one “normal” or “healthy” type of brain or mind or one “right” style of neurocognitive functioning, is no more valid than the idea that there is one “normal” or “right” gender, race or culture.
The classification of neurodivergence (e.g. autism, ADHD, dyslexia, bipolarity) as medical/psychiatric pathology has no valid scientific basis , and instead reflects cultural prejudice and oppresses those labeled as such.
The social dynamics around neurodiversity are similar to the dynamics that manifest around other forms of human diversity. These dynamics include unequal distribution of social power; conversely, when embraced, diversity can act as a source of creative potential.
(My formatting)
Now note that Walker’s definition doesn’t create a harsh separation between “neurodivergence” and “mental illness”. Indeed, it specifically includes a condition - bipolarity - which most people would happily class as a mental illness.
Of course, Walker isn’t the oracle of truth - he has informed opinions, but they’re just opinions, and his definition is a statement of what he considers the best definition to be, rather than a worked explanation of how he came to that definition. So, how could we separate neurodiversity from poor mental health?
First, I recently raised this question with someone who said the answer was that mental health is “not neurological”. This is not true. Depression, for example, has a big impact on your neural development, and our most effective treatments involve messing around with neurotransmitters. Your mind is entirely neurological, therefore your mental health is entirely neurological.
Second, the notion that mental illness is a thing you don’t want, while neurodiversity is a thing you do want. But some people dislike being autistic, ADHD, dyslexic, or dyspraxic, and those are supposed to be the friendly faces of neurodiversity. Meanwhile, there are plenty of people who embrace being bipolar, OCD, schizophrenic, and even depressed or anxious.
Third, the idea that neurodiversity involves talents, gifts, or valuable alternative viewpoints, while mental illness does not. Again, this quickly runs into trouble. For starters, an extreme version expects neurodivergent people to have wonderful abilities like Stephen Wiltshire. This is both untrue, and somewhat patronising. Neurodiversity is ordinary. But moreover, many conditions often deemed mental illnesses once again can come with advantages. A friend of mine with anxiety says that although she sometimes finds it unpleasant, she’s glad she has anxiety as she feels it motivates her to be nicer to other people. This is not my personal experience of anxiety, but her viewpoint is just as valid. The same clichés you hear about autistic people also apply to schizophrenics - famous schizophrenics include Jack Kerouac, Syd Barrett and John Nash, and probably Vincent Van Gogh, and in all cases their condition is routinely associated with their talent. Kanye West calls being bipolar his “superpower”.
Fourth, the idea that neurodiversity is permanent whereas mental illness is transient. Again, this doesn’t work. Many mental illnesses are not transient. As with autism, most mental illnesses have genetic components. And would we not class someone who became autistic due to a brain injury as “neurodiverse”?
Fifth, the idea that we can determine what is an “illness” and what is merely a “condition” by leaving it to psychiatrists or other professionals. Alas, we can’t - they routinely get it wrong. Diagnosis with a “mental illness”, a neurodivergence, or nothing at all is very much dependent on when and where you live. This is not meant to knock psychiatrists by any means, but we should not pretend that they are objective - they know a lot, but the founding purpose of the neurodiversity movement was to push back against common psychiatric assumptions.
I will skip over, for now, neurodegenerative conditions such as MS, ME, or dementia, but please do bear them in mind.
So, what definitions might work?
Well, try these on for size:
- Conditions are always neurodiversity. Neurodivergence is always good, but sometimes an individual will be distressed by one or more symptoms arising due to that neurodivergence and will seek treatment for those symptoms. Sometimes those symptoms could be understood as mental health difficulties.
or:
- A person can use neurodivergence and mental illness as they feel is appropriate to refer to themselves. Maybe they’re a person with chronic depression who is nonetheless glad they have a mind prone to depression. Maybe they have ADHD and want it cured. Maybe those two people are the same person. We, the neurodiversity community, should not gatekeep who gets to be part of our community.
What I’m suggesting is that, just as race, sexuality, and gender can be understood as social constructs, so too can the divide between “good neurodiversity” and “bad mental illness”.

I don’t get how people that claim they have autism think it isn’t something that needs a cure or sometimes even treatment. if you swap ‘autism’ with any other neurologic disorder you’ll see how silly you sound. why y’all want to pretend it isn’t a disorder and that not functioning like anyone else is something good.
This neurodiversity movement is really flawed by some notion that autism isn’t a problem in the first place. They always mention how a cure would change who they are lmao eugenics!!! and how autism doesn’t have only negatives effects but all y’all manage to list is “I wouldn’t like [x] so much and wouldn’t feel so much joy about being obsessed with it” which is bullshit. Everybody is obsessed about something and eventually, usually that changes to something else.
“I wouldn’t known the joy of [liking some specific food] or [liking some kind of texture? liking some kind of smell or sound] but that wouldn’t change, because, surprise, these are normal human behaviors everyone has.
You’re probably not autistic and just have problems everyone else has (but seem not to because people don’t like showing other people that they have problems)
Just labeling yourself with some relatable mental illness takes off the responsibility off having to think of “why am I having this problem” or “i’m only a teen and i’m still developing so that’s why I feel out of place” and instead just think of it as it being autism, bipolar, or bdp or whatever. And no, not being popular on school isn’t also uncommon at all, most people weren’t popular in school and doesn’t mean they all have some kind of illness either or that being popular means you can’t have a mental illness either.

HEY I LOVE POKEMON TRAINER BLACK
this boy is literally me what the fuck
Has anyone headcanoned him as autistic? Cos seriously SO many relateable moments! Or another neurodivergence/mental illness or just social awkwardness in general. He's every relateable everything!!!
But seriously tho there are so many ADORABLE moments of him being awkward and super enthusiastic and AAAAAA! like he's literally introduced appearing out of the shadows stuttering so quietly that the postman thinks he's a stalker and judo chops him into a pond. And then his idea of a logical way to prove his identity is to take the postman to his house, ask the neighbour if its his house, and then WALK BACK TO THE POND WHERE THEY WERE ORIGINALLY TALKING INSTEAD OF GOING INSIDE. Like even 'here's the package back, lets start over from scratch'. And then in contrast to how shy he was earlier he's all BOMBASTIC when he meets the other two heroes, he appears out of nowhere on a Braviary screaming about justice and dreams and then vanishes again just as quickly after he's saved everybody. So he's so relateable to me cos he's both shy and loud! Im like that, im so MAXIMUM 110% POWER when im with people im comfortablw with but thats only like 2% of people. And the autism relateableness really comes from the part where he cant control his loudness when he's talking about his hyperfocus? Like literally its treated like a SUPERPOWER in-universe, and the justification for the games being called black and white. "Black can't focus without his Munna eating his dreams, because he gets carrried away thinking about becoming the Champion and cant see what's right in front of him. He needs to turn all those blinding white thoughts back to black!" So seriously he's literally written having a problem that gets in the way of his daily life and using a support pokemon for it, and its literally a problem about hyperfocus and ALSO on top of that he has difficulty talking to people. I'm not just being nuts seeing autism relateability, right?
Also this manga made me appreciate Tepig more! They gave a lot of personality to the starters, showing them fighting each other while waiting to meet their new trainer. Tepig is exactly what you'd expect so far, a reckless shonen hero type who's a glutton for food and gets into trouble because of it. And then Snivy is the snooty beauty queen/king who gets all cold fury at Tepig whenever its stupid antics end up splashing dust or berry juice ln its beautiful tail. So they fight, and then oshawott is the shy pacifistic one who tries to break it up. BUT also it has kind of a demonic temper when you push its patience past the limit! Ten minutes of "but guys you should calm down hey maybe lets just talk about this over a nice cup of tea"and then "SHUDDUP AND DRINK YOUR GOD DAMN TEA" *instant kill samurai technique*
I LOVE THEM
And its so cute how Black befriends Tepig?? It got into trouble cos its shonen heroness made it depressed about losing the fight, its always all "i have to be the best" even when its not relevant or when its causing trouble fpr its own life in the process. So Black can instabtly understand and relate to how it feels! And then Tepig ends up wandering into an angry Sewaddle's food source and stabding on a precarious branch, comfort-eating the last leaf it was saving for winter. Again, hyperfocus letting you get so carried away you mess up! Relateable! So Black swoops in to save it and now he's yelling in full hyperfocus mode ABOUT HOW TEPIG IS THE BEST AND THEY ARE KINDRED SOULS AND I WILL HELP YOU ACHIEVE YOUR DREAMS MY FRIEND!! and tepig cries because its personal dreams to be the best are sort of a self hatred thing where it starts these fights just cos its scared of being laughed at for being weak. And this is the first trainer who thought it was the best??? *sniff* And i like to think that even the artwork was kinda playing into it, cos it says that Black needs to have munna take away all of his dreams in order to focus, but the visual representation shows a mix of black and white tiles with the single solution tile in the middle of all the white ones. So its like in this situation his special interest actually helped him, once he was able to unfocus a little and realize the similarities with Tepig. If he'd conpletely stopped thinking about it he probably couldbt have solved the problem! So maybe his character development would involve learning to manage his focus more effectively instead of trying to magically remove all of it at once? I guess maybe that could be a metaphor for using heavy potentially-dangerous medicine on neurodiverse kids to get them to act "well behaved" but depressed, versus actually getting them the therapy, correct medication if necessary, and coping strategies to manage their condition and retain a full quality of life.
OR, AGAIN, MAYBE IM READING TOO MUCH PERSONAL EXPERIENCE INTO THIS
Oh also and i like that prof juniper is written as a bit of a longsuffering only-sane-person in this world of goofballs, who's not afraid to get sassy and sometimes strict when needs be. She kinda felt like she didnt have much personality in the games beyond being generically nice in all ways and having possibly the least dialogue of any professor. Same issue as elm but at least elm had one npc state he was messy and disorganized even if it wasnt a trait they really showed that much of. Anyway i'm glad to see a juniper that stands up for herself instead of just being all 'oh you kids tee hee' to everything 24/7. Its really like the barebones necessary for a professor character, they dont even actually bother to write a good kind character! Kindness doesnt have to be boring!! (Tho i also like this different sass version too!)
Anyway im lovin this so far so im gonna keep going! Favourite scene: "Knowing Black i bet he's either screaming off a clifftop about his dreams or curled up in the library hogging every book about Tepigs." *cut to him curled up in the library, also screaming*

...And Aces, and Trans people, and everybody else, for that matter. (Blame @tildytwo for the title)
Science Fiction is going through a renaissance, and there has never been a better time to be a queer reader. You want casual diversity in fiction? We got it, to the point that it would honestly be overwhelming to describe all the ways that the subsequent books give people representation! Let’s just say that all of these automatically come with racial diversity as default (also keeping track of that is a headache, because these all take place in the future and people live on different planets).
Hope for the future is something we all need right now, and it is telling that in the science fiction coming out right now, the future is inclusive as hell (with uh, one exception, which has been tagged). Racism, homophobia, sexism, and transphobia are things of a dark, barbaric past. Transitioning, for those who want it, is easily managed with science, and different pronouns are taken in stride. Neurodiversity is often an asset, rather than a disability, and characters come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. Humanity has spread out among the stars, with all of the amazing racial and cultural diversity that that implies. While none of these settings are utopias, no one is erased.
Becky Chambers - The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet and sequels (Queer lady protagonist)
Mur Lafferty - Six Wakes (Hispanic lady protagonist, diverse ensemble cast)
Ann Leckie - Ancillary Justice and the rest of the Imperial Radch series (look, if it’s an Ann Leckie book, messing around with gender is the default)
Tim Pratt - The Wrong Stars (Demisexual and bi lady protagonists - I think one is Korean, based on her surname?)
*Rivers Solomon - An Unkindness of Ghosts (Protagonist is a bisexual, autistic black woman) Gonna put a trigger warning on this one. Solomon is probably going to be our generation’s Octavia Butler, with all that entails. Major themes of racism, sexism, and transphobia.
R. E. Stearns - Barbary Station (Two queer lady protagonists, one of whom is black and the other is neurodiverse)
Martha Wells - The Murderbot Diaries (Protagonist is a sentient robot who is agender and asexual- and yes, they have plenty of emotions, this isn’t that kind of story)
BONUS ROUND- Books not set in the far future, but still a part of the SF renaissance: Sarah Gailey - River of Teeth, Mira Grant - Final Girls, Victor LaValle - The Ballad of Black Tom

Hollywood is for the Neurodiverse
I’m a SoCal transplant who’s originally from the East Coast. For the first time in my entire life I feel like I live in a region that was designed with autistic people In mind. Here’s why:
Geography: Heavily populated but spread out. You can be in a noisy city if you so choose, but most of the so-called “cities” are actually suburbs, with quiet residential neighborhoods. It’s less densely populated around here than New York or DC, so you don’t have to expose yourself to constant stimulation if you choose not to. You have access to everything you need but the things you DO need aren’t bugging you constantly with overstimulation.
Car Culture: Because everyone is in their car, you don’t necessarily have to interact with people during your commute. You can control the environment around you to your liking and you don’t need to deal with awkward eye contact, creepy advances or potentially getting kicked in the face by a dancer on the train like you would in NYC.
Everyone’s fucking weird: Ever drive around Hollywood? Lots of eccentric characters. People move out here with big goals of “making it” in entertainment because they feel limited by their hometowns. All the transplants were probably once the weird kid in their high school as well! There are people from all over the world representing a melting pot of cultures, customs and dress codes. Nobody will bat an eye if you’re a little “odd”. Nobody will care how weird you are as long as you’re good at your job and not an asshole.
Everyone’s hardworking, self-centered and distracted: Because people move here with giant goals, they’re often so focused on themselves that they aren’t paying attention to you. Everyone’s so focused on trying to keep up with the hustle of making their dreams come true that if you slip up and say something awkward, it will most likely be forgotten in a few hours. Additionally, as an attractive woman I’m finding I’m getting less unwanted male attention because there are gorgeous model-types EVERYWHERE- it’s actually really nice.
“Fake” nice people= fewer assholes: Hollywood has a reputation for being “fake”, but that doesn’t bother me. As someone who struggles with rejection sensitivity, it’s a lot easier when you don’t have to deal with the blunt cruelness that people on the east coast are known for. I’ve gotten quite good at reading between the lines, so I can usually decipher the true meaning of someone’s statement. On that note-
Nobody will think twice if you skip out on an event: There are some flaky people in Hollywood. There are also plenty of reliable people in Hollywood. If you’re too overwhelmed to go out, it won’t be the end of the world- the person who invited you probably won’t take it personally. Just go to the next one. No big deal.
Predictable weather: Heavy snowstorms and thunderstorms can be a sensory nightmare for me in particular. The instances of that happening in SoCal are slim, restricted to maybe two or three times in the winter. Otherwise, it’s warm, beautiful sunshine all the time. It’s one less thing to worry about and it’s made my life so much easier because I don’t need to worry about potentially being late to work from the time it takes to defrost my car in the morning.
Sound stages are controlled environments: I guess this only applies if you’re working on a film crew, which not everyone is, so bear with me! Film sets are highly regimented. You’ll  know when you’re allowed to talk and when you can’t (the blinking light will tell you). Lights can sometimes be bright, and noises can sometimes be loud, but it’s all predictable and you’ll know exactly what’s going on. Things are quiet until the camera’s rolling, and unless you’re a department head, people outside of your department won’t be offended if you don’t say much to them beyond a simple greeting at craft services. Everyone has a job to do and socializing can be a distraction, so water cooler gossip hasn’t really been a huge thing (from what I’ve observed).
FILM PRODUCTIONS FEED YOU. It’s so nice not having to think about where I’m getting lunch when I’m working! Meal prep takes a lot of time and energy and my ADHD means I sometimes forget to pack lunch or I don’t have the creativity to throw a proper meal together after a long day. When I’m working on a shoot, I don’t have to worry about these things.
Attire can be practical: You’re moving around all day. Who cares about looking good? Gardening hats, cargo shorts and athletic sunglasses are things I’ve seen on the lot on a regular basis. I probably wouldn’t wear these items elsewhere but they make sense here. The entertainment industry has a reputation for being superficial but if you’re working behind the scenes I promise there’s a very slim chance of anyone paying attention to what you’re wearing. As long as you’re clean and your attire is practical, functional and socially appropriate, you’re probably fine.
Long days mean less of a need for code switching: If you’re working on a production there’s a good chance you’re working 12 hour days, so you probably don’t have time to go out on weeknights. EVERYBODY GETS TIRED DURING THOSE LONG DAYS, so it will be understood if you need a quick break for a snack or some coffee. If you get time off it’s probably a week or two at a time. I’m the type of person who pours themselves into work, so it’s easier for me when filming dates are exclusively work/sleep. Then, I can take the time during breaks to go to doctors’ appointments, socialize, freelance, do whatever I want. It takes more time and energy to prepare myself for the fun things than it does for most people, so this way I get a chance to experience both. My life is really imbalanced, but oddly enough I’m finding a better work/life balance than when I was working a traditional 9-5 job.
All types of people live here: Dudes working in tech. Fashion industry people. Teachers. Video game designers. Film crew. Actors. Designers. Writers. Grocery store attendants. Small business owners. Scientists. Real estate agents. Budtenders. There are millions of people living in this region, from all over the world, working in every single field you can think of. There’s a place here for you, too.

As they oscillate their brains from all sizes of autism to neurodiversity, their lives like a god inner labyrinth are giggling. They heavily stress that they write about the work of autistic organs and souls from the bottom of their hearts and through profound assessment and practice. Autism SIBS Universe innovative and complicated fires inside their exterior facade produce their future and serve others with autism. In how they look at the globe, their advice will generate a very soft and sympathetic, non-profit anxiety facility that Autistics has created. The approach of the center will affirmatively change the lives of those who happen to be autistics otherwise stuck in such systems that cannot completely represent them mainly because of an absence of real intelligence knowledge. A deliberate neurodiversity and intergenerational autistically constructed cohousing area. Autistics are trapped in structures that do not meet even their fundamental requirements properly. Beneath the difficulty of official schooling, therapy, target scheduling, day programs and community housing, there is a constant lack of individuals who genuinely comprehend and promote autistics. SIBS Universe has been conceptualized and created as nonverbal computerization that can have been caught in the bodies for a long time. They generally consider alternatives to deal with adulthood all the more rapidly and to make better lodging, work and practical social help. They need to teach network, colleges and working environments how to fulfill medically introverted needs while finding out about them. They work with the district of Hennepin, MN residential agencies and developers to know how the environment can be funded. Their restricted speech resulted to a diagnosis before 17 and 21 years of age as autistic, hyperlexic including unverbal, and an obstacle between us and their whole universe. Due to their constraints, they were less intellectually interested about virtually all traditional exams and learning methodologies, such as so much population of autistics before us. Due to the disorders unusual existence, specialists begin only to comprehend the nuanced intelligence concealed in the autistic functioning brain. Their bodies are like supercomputers, never boast of their ability to know via non-standard methods and an understanding of the endlessly complicated causal concentrations that affect all of the world and all of their life. Remedy within the workplace: banks take psychological well being combat in-house
http://tinyurl.com/yyo8btez LONDON (Reuters) – In ‘Billions’, a U.S. tv present set on the planet of hedge funds, merchants on the fictional Axe Capital often attend classes with an in-house psychiatrist. Employees stroll to work throughout the morning rush hour within the monetary district of Canary Wharf in London, Britain, January 26, 2017. REUTERS/Eddie Keogh/Recordsdata In actual life, finance professionals are not often so open about in search of psychological assist. On Wall Road and within the Metropolis of London, hyperambition and an ‘at all times on’ perspective are richly rewarded and individuals are typically cautious of unveiling one thing that could possibly be perceived as a weak spot. Two out of three individuals working in monetary companies have skilled psychological well being points because of work or the place work was a associated issue, in keeping with a 2018 survey, broadly according to the broader workforce. The Psychological Well being at Work ballot questioned over 4,600 British workers from a variety of industries. Many don’t inform their bosses for concern of damaging their careers. “Stigma undoubtedly nonetheless exists,” stated Beth Robotham, an govt director at Goldman Sachs in London. “Laws is meant to guard individuals from that type of discrimination and employers are attempting a lot, a lot tougher however it could be naïve of me to say that that wasn’t a problem any extra.” Robotham skilled nervousness assaults when she was in command of recruiting bankers targeted on the healthcare sector for Goldman in Europe, the Center East and Africa (EMEA) in 2010. It took her months to inform her managers and search assist. “I simply assumed that folks like me should simply fall out of ‘the system’, and due to this fact I ought to simply preserve quiet or else I can be pushed out,” she stated.     Robotham, deputy chair of the Metropolis Psychological Well being Alliance, which promotes good psychological well being amongst London’s monetary workforce, is certainly one of a rising group of executives selecting to talk publicly about their issues to reassure others they don’t seem to be alone. SUFFER IN SILENCE Folks can expertise nervousness, melancholy and different psychological well being points no matter their job. However punishing schedules can pile on additional strain. All-nighters and 100-hour work weeks aren’t uncommon in funding banking, notably when engaged on offers or public choices of debt or fairness. Some 44 % of banking workers stated they felt underneath extreme strain to carry out of their work, in keeping with a survey of over 70,000 individuals carried out by Britain’s Banking Requirements Board final 12 months. 1 / 4 stated that working at their agency was unhealthy for his or her well being. Lately, banks have tried to lighten workloads, loosen up gown codes and provides employees extra time to deal with life outdoors the workplace to retain expertise and keep away from pricey burnout. However bankers with psychological well being issues, particularly these nonetheless early of their careers, are sometimes reluctant to flag them in case their bosses assume they’ll’t hack the tempo. Matt Evans, world head of funding financial institution recruiting and head of firmwide recruiting for EMEA at JPMorgan, stated he spent practically 20 years concealing his battle with melancholy till the financial institution’s ‘This Is Me’ marketing campaign in 2017 prompted him to share his experiences.     “There’s been no draw back for me in telling my story. The help I’ve had has been important,” he stated. “I bought promoted to MD after disclosing my situation.”     Evans was lately recognized with bipolar dysfunction and took three months off final 12 months. He was phased again into work in December and says he’s “100 % satisfied” the break may have no impression on his skilled prospects. However not everybody shares his confidence round attitudes to psychological well being. Whereas it’s unlawful for employers to discriminate in opposition to individuals for having psychological well being issues, greater than half of two,000 UK staff surveyed by health-tech agency Mynurva feared telling their supervisor would hinder their possibilities of promotion, whereas 57% believed disclosure would hurt relationships with colleagues. Mynurva, which gives on-line counselling, additionally reported a surge in demand from monetary executives who’re bypassing their employers’ companies as a result of they concern the results. “The findings present the concern and embarrassment workers have when disclosing their situation to their employer. And it explains why professionals would slightly endure in silence than search the required assist,” stated Dr Zain Sikafi, CEO of Mynurva. MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AIDERS One in 4 individuals can be affected by psychological or neurological problems in some unspecified time in the future of their lives and the annual price to the worldwide economic system is estimated at $1 trillion in misplaced productiveness, in keeping with the World Well being Group. Brian Heyworth, world head of consumer technique at HSBC and chairman of the Metropolis Psychological Well being Alliance, needs his financial institution and others to assist workers earlier than they grow to be critically ailing. “In an organisation of 235,000 individuals, some can be having suicidal ideas however many extra can be sliding alongside the spectrum in the direction of that time. We need to anticipate and forestall that,” he stated. HSBC is contemplating hiring on-site counsellors as a part of its ‘Healthiest Human System’ initiative, the brainchild of CEO John Flint. JPMorgan’s first UK-based on-site counsellor is because of begin work on the financial institution’s places of work in London’s Canary Wharf this summer season. The financial institution already has full-time counsellors in 9 U.S. places, together with New York, Delaware, Chicago and Texas and likewise presents a Resilience App offering stress administration suggestions. Goldman Sachs is planning to coach dozens of UK employees as psychological well being first aiders in order that they’ll spot indicators that colleagues could also be beginning to spiral on account of stress or nervousness — together with adjustments in look, working habits or social patterns, Robotham stated. Goldman has additionally launched a paid internship program in america for individuals who establish as ‘neurodiverse’. Neurodiversity covers a variety of neurological variations together with autism, dyslexia, developmental problems and psychological well being situations. As the general public profile of psychological well being grows, employers in Britain who fail to point out satisfactory psychological wellbeing provision for workers could possibly be sued underneath the Administration of Well being and Security at Work Laws Act 1999, which compels employers to evaluate the character and scale of well being dangers at work, together with stress. “The hurt and detriment to an employer stemming from these sorts of points aren’t solely monetary, they’ll inflict larger harm to status, public picture, productiveness and retention,” stated Matthew Cole, accomplice at regulation agency Prettys. Cole stated he had not seen any important rise within the variety of employees in search of damages from employers on account of stress-related situations however stated firms had been very delicate to the chance.     “If an worker finally ends up with a psychiatric situation which prevents them from working in an atmosphere the place they may have in any other case earned six figures, that may quantity to some important liabilities.” Prevention is less expensive. Britain’s Psychological Well being Basis estimates that psychological well being help within the office might save UK companies as much as eight billion kilos a 12 months. The charity places the price of offering data and recommendation on psychological well being on-line and through workshops at round 80 kilos per worker per 12 months. Slideshow (three Pictures) Heyworth has grappled with nervousness and melancholy since childhood and was employed by HSBC after a interval of depart from Financial institution of America. He is aware of that he is without doubt one of the fortunate ones, each banks knew of his psychological well being issues and had been supportive. “Make no mistake, we’re nonetheless within the foothills on this journey,” he stated. “The constructive factor is that extra individuals are actually asking for assist, however we additionally want to simply accept that there are in all probability extra individuals who need assistance too. The following section of the problem is creating the situations the place we are able to reverse that pattern.” Modifying by Carmel Crimmins Our Requirements:The Thomson Reuters Trust Principles. As an educator who sees the exact same students on a daily basis, you know which pupils have one of the most important concerns associated with discipline as well as which ones would profit most from a browse through with the counselor as opposed to a browse through with the Principal or Dean of Students. For additional information concerning this interesting opportunity, visit our website at A complete checklist of details sessions can be found by clicking on EDUCATOR EMPLOYMENT. Sending out a neurodiverse kid to recess may not be the solution - for a pupil like myself that was the most awful component of the day. My youngsters are primarily ready, but what I wouldn't offer for one more week of mentor time to truly solidify some principles! However, this indicates there are increasingly more teachers trying to find less and also less readily available teaching tasks. For a lot of children this simply isn't so. These children could read words in isolation throughout the week we are focusing on that listing, but neglect them at a later day. The previous president of the teacher's union stayed in New Fairfield as well as read the paper. Get a listing of take advantage of the firm as chocolate slim ára well as formulate any kind of questions you could have regarding them to make sure that you can much better review the placement with monitoring and also various other educators at the institution. Rules Not To Adhere to Regarding educator.
I give so much regard to all my educators ... Although I love leading, bringing and challenging ideas out the wonder in children ... I am not exactly sure I would certainly have the ability to endure doing it for a living. The second thing you're mosting likely to do is create three variations of your instructor cover letter. I have witnessed Robert currently in lots of workshops with varied participants, from CEOs of huge companies to small company proprietors, from spiritual teachers and healers to keynote speakers, from music teachers to mums and also fathers. It can also rely on the school, center or facility that you are operating in. In addition, your area will also affect the wage that you obtain in this job. You will additionally wish to be prepared to address inquiries from schoolmates or your educator regarding the not so good elements of examining abroad and be able to turn those downsides right into positives by mentioning excellent truths concerning researching abroad. The instructor has the goals of the lesson in mind; trainees are thinking of each various other, exactly how their hair looks, where they want they were right now, and so on Also if you can, invest some time in the class with these instructors and view the means they connect with their trainees as well as the method which they accomplish their lessons. On the other hand, a volunteer called Happiness is resolved as an educator for mentor and serving the children of a much rural neighborhood. You have to describe educator return to examples, follow the above offered pointers and also construct a winning instructor resume to order the desired task. I recognize when I was a pupil and also an instructor hugged me (male or women) I constantly felt uncomfortable and a few times told them I don't like being hugged. One of them really observed exactly how I stroll pigeon toed as well as my instructor Jackie did not let me get away extremely promptly.
