the big ‘so you’ve found my blog’ post;
Tumblr media
So. The follow button has led you to me, and now here you are with me on your dash. I assume you’re here for one to three reasons: the ffxiv content I post and reblog, my character(s), and/or the aesthetic content. Possibly also my riveting commentary on why ffxiv hasn’t added a sidebraid hairstyle yet. You’re all valid and welcome here.
Maybe you’re curious about me and my OCs, but you don’t want to go digging through my blog and the absolute mess of tags I’ve amassed over the years. I’m here to present a half-assed solution to your curiosity instead of fixing my tags in any sort of meaningful way.
                                   WHO RUNS THIS BLOG?
I’m Alicia, I run this circus.
she/her pronouns, I’m cis.
I’m 31 years old at the time of writing this post.
This blog is 5 going on 6 years old.
If you see @alannahcorvaine that blog is also me but I don’t use it anymore, as it’s a sideblog and I moved over to this blog years ago.
I’ve been playing FFXIV since 2015.
I also play Elder Scrolls Online and World of Warcraft and have separate blogs for related OCs, content, and aesthetics.
I’m a cat person but I also love dogs.
I have a five year old black cat named Kilala who keeps me in line.
I’m not much of a people person, I’m made of anxiety and paperclips.
I yell into the void a lot, the void being my blog.
I don’t really RP outside of spectacularly outstanding circumstances these days, but character and world building are my jam.
Even if I don’t RP, I’m always down for character connections and relationships. I’m totally up for brainstorming and bouncing around headcanons.
Most of the time in game you’ll find me either standing around my house or out in the world taking screenshots. My mailing address is gpose.
I have a full roster of 8 characters on Balmung, but currently only 3 are active. You’ll probably see screenshots of the others too from time to time.
                                                    THE OCs
Tumblr media
                                      A L A N N A H  C O R V A I N E
Your first assumption on seeing my blog name is that it’s probably the name of the titular OC that this blog focuses on. You would be correct. All of my OCs have their own blogs, however I am infinitely lazy and just end up posting screenshots of everyone here because this is where the followers are and the sideblogs end up being used as aesthetic warehouses. Anywhoo, here’s some need-to-knows about Alannah.
Alannah has two main verses: Warrior of Light and Non-WoL.
Her non-WoLverse is actually the primary one, but with Shadowbringers I’ve been focusing more on her WoL story.
I also have an infinite amount of AU verses for her based on various media but nobody has time for me to list all of those.
In both verses she’s a White Mage, a capable healer, but focuses more on offensive elemental spells (wind, water, earth).
Alannah is my only OC with a Warrior of Light verse.
She’s 23 years old.
She has severe allergies to  grass, pollen, dust, dander, and certain foods.
Her allergy reactions are largely kept at bay by a delicate chain diadem made and blessed by padjal. It also helps correct her shitty vision, magic is great.
Her deepest fears include deep water and phurbles.
She has four older brothers: Faron, Ean, Davon, and Brennan.
Family issues. Just so many family issues. That’s an entire post on its own.
Her hair is dark brown, not black. I cannot state this emphatically enough no matter what my edits look like.
The white streaks are magical scars, the cause of them vary by verse.
Non-WoL Alannah is married to Nine Outway, they have a three-year old daughter named Aislinn.
Warrior of Light Alannah (hereafter known as WoLannah) I ship exclusively with dead ghost boyfriend Ardbert.
Deep-seated anger issues buried beneath a placid and friendly exterior.
Her aether is just irreparably borked and highly chaotic and is controlled via her staff and arcane symbols painted onto her arms in aether ink.
Her childhood dream was to be a powerful thaumaturge, which didn’t work out with her aether control issues.
Tumblr media
                                R E B E C C A  “B R I N A”  C R O S S                                               ( @thesilentcygnet )
26 years old.
Born to a moderately wealthy Limsan merchant family.
2 older sisters: Pippa and Lacy.
Jacke Swallow (of rogues guild fame)  is her best friend (and secret love) since childhood.
Her entire family was murdered when she was 16 because her father made shady deals with the wrong people and owed them money.
She’s been mute since the day of the massacre after witnessing the murders while hiding in the cellar beneath their feet.
She’s been staying with Jacke and his cohorts in the Dutiful Sisters of the Edelweiss since then, though he’s the only one that knows her true identity.
A long chain of events has lead to her being kidnapped from Kugane, shipwrecked off the coast of Othard twice, sucked into a magical whirlpool, and left stranded on the First.
Will she ever get home? Perhaps, when I’ve finally decided that her ridiculous journey has been Odyssean enough.
Tumblr media
                                           K H I A R N A   K H A                                               ( @khi-tastrophe )
29 years old.
An incandescent ball of unquenchable rage, probably for valid reasons.
The daughter of the khan of a minor offshoot of the Kha tribe.
Had a twin sister named Khiela, who pretended to be kidnapped by an aggressive suitor and lead Khiarna on a wild goose chase across Eorzea in an attempt to find her.
Khiela and her lover conspired to and succeeded in murdering her father.
Khiarna returned to Othard and murdered the shit out of both of them in retaliation for killing her father.
She was then unanimously chosen as her father’s successor and currently reigns as khatun to the nomadic merchant tribe.
While traveling across Eorzea in search of her errant sister, Khi was involved in a relationship with a pathological liar, which has severely damaged her ability to trust people (on top of her family drama).
Currently in a relationship with Sidirahg of the Sixth ( @sidirahg ), who has the patience of a saint with her issues and also might be a masochist.
Khi is a shaman and uses a mix of conjury and pugilism in combat.
She covers her fists and feet in a solid layer of rock and then lights them on fire, using a combination of speed, flexibility, and disorienting blows to fell her opponents.

The Introduction of Skeksa and Amri
I’ve had this idea in my brain for awhile of how Season 2 could introduce Skeksa and Amri into the storyline. This is a headcanon of sorts, but if it somehow becomes true then call be a phrophet, becuase i know everything!
season 2 better introduce Skeksa and Amri in the most dramatic, pirate way possible.
(This can also be a perfect opportunity to introduce Amri, since Season 1 didn't have a chance too. I’m not too well-versed in the J.M Lee books as I’ve only read book 1, but I’ve read from snippits/other tumblr posts that Amri likes to boast and flirt on occation.  I know he’s a soft bean, but I just like that thought of a pompus, kind-of-dickish Amri that slowly starts to become the small bean we see in the novels. If anyone who’s read the books can tell me if I got Amri’s nature down right)
imagine--> Our heroes (Brea, Kylan, Naia, Gurjin, Rian, Hup, Seladon and A very weak Darkend Deet), tied up to their the railing/mast of the pirate ship.  Rian and Gurjin, with Kylan between them, are tired by their wrists to hooks strung up on the Shrouds (The Spiderweb ropes commonly found on ships).  Naia and Brea  and Seladon are tied to latches bolted to the railings. Hup, unfortunately, Is tied upside down, being swung back and forth by a pair of Gelfling triplets who find amusement in the podlings apparent motion sickness.
No one has touched Aughra, who sits with her cane on a small barrel near the girls.  No one would dare come close to the old crone, for fear of the wrath from her eight-and-a-half-fingers.
Deet, due to her uncontrollable powers, and the fact that the ship is a living breathing ecosystem, is put into a close-knit metal cage, hanging off the edge of the ship by a hook above the raging sea.  Deet can bairly keep her eyes open, what with the darkening coursing within her draining her of energy.
Everyone is dishevel and sweaty and groggy from being unconscious for hours
Surrounding them, Gelfling not of Sifa, or any other clan, origin, sneer and smirk at them from every corner of the ship. Some dangle from the large sail mast, others on the railings. A group sit on a cluster of old barrels, while a few stand on the main deck. Every Gelfling had a weapon within his or her hand, ready to brandish them at any sign of struggle.  Scars mar their bodies. At their feet, Fizzgigs and other creates growl with anticipation of a new snack.
At the very front of the group,  A grotton with a half-shaved head and blue cloak stands with a high-and-mighty energy to him. At his hip, a vapran sword gleams in the light. He whips it out, using the blade to point to each of our heroes.
He addresses his crew with bravato, walking slowly up to the group “Very good, everyone! A fine catch from the Silver Sea. Now, lets see what treasures we’ve dragged in from the surf...”
Moving swiftly, he digs the blade into Rian’s neck. Rian growls as the blade shines against his face. Amri casts a smirk at him, amusement dancing within the black pools of his eyes.  “A Pretentious Stonewood,”
He points to Kylan, who whimpers as Amri’s sword presses into his cheek. “A cowardly Sprition.... No, wait, a cowardly Half-breed Sprition,” A laugh escapes his chest. “You should really do better to conceal yourself. Your Stonewood ears are showing.”
He barely looks at up as he walks past, not bothering to stop the triplets from their playitme.  “A disgusting Podling,”
He turns to Gurjin, drawing his blade across the drenches large forehead.  “ A flat-footed Drenchen,”. He swipes the blade off Gurjins forehead swiftly, leaving a faint but noticeable red mark.
“And his flat-footed Sister!” A roar of laughter erupts from the crowd of gelfling. Amri moves closer to Naia, pressing his blade under her chin. Naia’s gills quiver in anger, a soft rattling sound echoing from her neck. Amri’s brows knit in concentration. “Flat-flooted, yes, but... better looking by a considerable margin.”
A rush of heat rushes to Naia’s cheeks. Gurjin squirms against his ropes, muttering under his breath.
Amri ignores Gurjins insults as he moves to Brea and Seladon. With his blade, he taps Seladon’s new All-Maudra Crown. “The Traitorous All-Maudra,” Then turns to to Brea. “And her transgressor sister.”
“You stole that Vapran Sword,” Brea notes, her eyes falling to the bejeweled hilt.
“Oh this? I’d say Stolen is a strong word. I like the term, Generously donated to be a much better alternative.”
Beside them, Aughra huffs and ‘Bahs’ as Amri walks in from of her. “It seems we have Mother Aughra on our vessel. The Deserter of Gelfling kind,”
Mother Aughra gives a sneer. “Speak for yourself, You half-shaven fizzgig.  Your grotton. Used to live in caves did you? Now you snort sea-salt with these sun-frenzied lot. Quiet the contrast. Come any closer with that stick-- and I’ll fling you into the waves.” Using her walking stick, she taps Amri’s sword with annoyance.
Amri growls at Aughra’s words, stepping back a bit away from the old crone, the crowed behind him having quieted to whispers. Turning from Aughra, he makes his way to the railing, grabbing hold of the shrouds and pulling himself up to Deet’s cage. Tapping his sword against the bars, Amri laughs as Deet cowers back a bit from the loud noise. The cage swings horribly over the ocean. Her dark veins glow from her agitated emotions.
“Stop!” Rian yells, struggling against the rope. “Don’t do that--You’ll scare her! Dont!”
Amri looks to Rian. Then to Deet. Then back to Rian. A wide smirk crosses the grottons face. “Oh,” He drawls.  He hops down from the railing, making his way over to Rian, drawing his blade to the Stonewoods neck again. “Would you look at that? it seems as though the Stonewood might have affection for the parasite that poisons the mainland,” With one fell swoop, Amri rakes the blade across Rians neck, drawing a very thin small line that trickles down is skin. Taking the ends of his blue cloak, Amri whips the blade clean before twirling it in his hand. “How romantic,” He sneers, his voice laced with amusement.
The Gelfling behind Amri whoop with excitement as the captives struggle with their bonds as Amri twirled his blade
“No! Stop!” Deet yelps, thrusting her hand through the bars. The purple veins glow with the hideous purple residue of the darkening.
“Stay back!” Amri screams, thrusting the blade into the cage, just barely striking Deet. “Parasites who drain the land of life don’t get a say in what I do or not.” Amri says, drawing back his blade. “As long as your feet are planted on his ship. You follow my rules--”
“Amri. Enough.” A voice calls, velvety and smooth. “You’re scaring the grotton. The Emperor specifically asked for her not to be harmed--physical or otherwise.”
The Gelfling go quiet as, with a flourish of her flamboyant long-jacket, A Skeksis emerges from the darkness of the ships cabin. With purple, blue and pink down feathers, a large over-jacket and a feathered hat, the Skeksis looks magnificent, towering over her crew. bravado laces her movements as she strides toward the captive.
Amri backs away, sheathing his sword with a flourish of his hand. His large ears fall flat to his head “My apologies, Captain. I got a bit too... carried away...”
“As he always does,” A gelfling girl sneers, stroking a battle scared fizzgig. She’s younger then Amri, with tight brides weaved among her reddish-brown hair.
“Amri always wants to be captain,” Her twin sneers. In her own hands, a pluffm chews on a large scroll. Her hair is shorter then her sister. “But all that Bravado will do him nothing if he cant strike his opponents--”
“Enough,” Skeksa snaps. The girls cower back in fright at the aggravated Skeksis. “You sound like childlings! Silence your mouths, or i’ll gladly stitch it shut for you.”
“Yes, Captain,” The girls say in unison.
Aughra gives a huff as Skeksa strides toward her. “So, Skeksa, this is where you slinked off too. Cant say its an improvement.”
“Mother Aughra,” Skeksa greets, bending low to Aughra’s eye level. “How wonderful it is too see the incarnate of Thra has returned from her cosmic voyage. I hope it was worth the long absence.”
Aughra grumbles as she taps her staff on the walkway of the ship. “Wouldn't have done you any good. Your little brain would have popped half-way through. But i see now that you’ve done something considerable with your time. Not like your brethren. Not essence-dependent.”
Skeksa laughs, deep throat and pleasant to the ears. Her purple and pink feathers ruffle in the salty sea-breeze. “My brethren were weaklings; too scared to gain a few scars. Too scared of death to face it head on.  I am nothing like them.”
“Bold words to say, considering you’ve answers the Emperors request to capture down Gentle Deet in order to take her back to the castle. You say you are nothing like them-- but just as plainly as the feathers on your wrinkled head, i can see that you are far from being different”
Skeksa sighs as she lifts herself to her full height. Hands behind her back, she walks slowly to Deets cage. “ Mother Aughra, I do what i must-- if not for the mainland gelfling; then to my crew. The mainland dies due to the power that rushes through the grottons veins. It effects everything--even the skeksis who live within the castle. How can i sit back when the dakrneing that leaks from gentle Deets body threatens to poison our world? I am mearly doing what is nessisary for Thra.”
“Necessary for you. Not to Thra.” Aughra retorts.
Skeksa chuckles. Moving her hand through the bars and using a claw, she lifts Deets head to look at her. Deets eyes are a deep purple, blurry with Darkned-fever.  Her breathing is labored, and as far as Skeksa can see, the veins are a deeper purple then before. Skeksa flicks the claw away, creating a red line under Deets jaw. “Quiet the contrary, old crone. You left to bring Knowledge to Thra-- tell me again how that turned out?”
Aughra says nothing.
Skeksa cant help but chuckle again. “That’s what I thought.” With a violent push of her hand, Skeksa batters the cage, sending it swinging back and forth violently. “Gelfling, To Cera-Na!”
“To Cera-Na!” The gelfling echo as every gelfling scrable to their places within the ship. Gelfling climb up ropes and masts, going this way and that as they prepare the ship for departure. Brandishing their knives, Several cut down Rian, Gurjin and Kylan, catching them before they can fully hit the floor.
Rian struggles violently as he is carted off, his hands bound behind his back.  “Deet! Deet! Let me go! Let! Me! Go! Noo! Deet!”
“Rian!” Deet screams, watching as a hatch is lifed up from the floor and the Stonewood is thrown in, followed by the deep yelp of Gurjin and Kylans whimper. Hup is thrown inside as well, his tiny body hitting the floor harshly before the hatch is closed. “Rian!”
Amri, his sword in hand, beats the cage one more time, silencing Deet. With a smirk, he makes his way to stand at Skeksa’s side.
Brea, Seladon and Naia are cut from the railings. They’re dragged forcefully into the cabin. Aughra is left to walk herself, no one daring to touch her as she takes a swipe here and there at the Gelfling as she walks to the cabin.
Skeksa surveys her ship, at the hustle and bustle of Gelfling as the vessel takes off through the silver surf.

10 headcanons for shey wrynn? :3
ooo! my little fireball! Let’s see...
She generates a lot of heat so when sleeping next to Varian or out somewhere colder he’d tend to stick close to her. Initially it was just him that would do so but as time passed others like Anduin and Genn would also tend to favor standing as close as they could whenever it was cold. (Fire mage = walking heater)
The staff she used prior to getting Felo’melorn, was a gift from her master in Dalaran (Colden). The dragon design on the end is removable and has a blade hidden beneath it.
She doesn’t have much in the way of family (bio parents consider her dead and gave her over to dalaran because they were afraid of her, big sister doesn’t know she’s alive.) so after Varian’s death the only family she has left is Anduin, her itty little toddler son, and Uuna who she considers her adopted (ghosty) daughter.
She has a soft spot for flowers, not really any preference of the type, but does like the starlight roses that she found in suramar a lot.
She still has the Sunreaver disguise (from the Quel’delar chain) and has modified the spell on it so she can use it to visit her friends in the horde even outside of dalaran.
Even though Felo’melorn’s power is gone she still uses it as her primary weapon. Because it was something she and Aethas got the first time they worked as a team. More of a momento of something good that happened during a lot of bad, and when they started the journey to become companions, friends and later friends with benefits.
She really really wants to learn how to use a glaive. She thinks they’d be a lot of fun to fight with.
Varian was her first love, though not her first lover, her first ‘relationship’ was with a fellow student before leaving dalaran to become an adventurer. They still keep in touch and she had a chance to work with him again during the fight against the Legion.
She absolutely hates long winded spells and tends to only use single phrase or simple incantations. Less risk of messing up and catching an ally in the blast that way and less risk of being interrupted.
She has a tattoo on her arms that match the ones her master had. She had them done after he died during Theramore’s destruction. They’re of a special ink that glows under certain circumstances or generally around a large amount of arcane energy.

Ooh, Inquisitor asks! 22, 25, 38, and 39 for all of your girls please? :D
Oh dear ok lesdoit.
22- Fav weapons
Alena and Vikara are mages. Alena is a fire/force mage, so her favorite is the Heart of Rage staff. It helps that she thinks it’s pretty, and since it’s a more natural-looking staff, it reminds her of her clan. Vikara is an ice/knight-enchanter mage, so her favorite is the King Fisher’s staff because it’s aerodynamic enough that when she adds a blade to the end of it, it feels super good.
Asena is a 2H warrior. She has a penchant for mauls, but anything will do so long as it’s sturdy. Her all-time favorite weapon, though? The Avvar War Maul. It’s got 2 bear’s heads on it ffs. How cool is that? She doesn’t use it, though. It hangs above her bed until she moves in with Josephine and they hang it over the fireplace instead because Josephine is scared it might fall and hit them while they’re... um... Y’know.
Gemma, Kalam, and Madeira are all rogues. Gemma is an archer, and her favorite bow is one she made herself from dragon bone that has a super good Spirit rune embedded in it. (She asks Blackwall to carve a pretty design into the handle for her :3 ) Kalam and Madeira are both dagger-rogues. Kalam doesn’t get super attached to any specific one, and she’ll usually let Cole have the stronger ones she finds, so she just takes whatever is second-strongest. Madeira’s favorites are the Walking Death one, and one that The Iron Bull gave her for her birthday that has a deep red hilt that matches her tattoos. :3
25-  what is their favourite place within playable regions?
Alena loves the desert areas, and she loves being in high places. She absolutely hates being cold, so the hotter it is, the better. (I headcanon that mages in Thedas can draw power on similar elements, so fire mages in deserts, ice mages in tundras, electricty mages during thunder storms, that’s when they’re all at their best.) If she can be somewhere hot, perfect. If she can be somewhere high, just as good. She likes to sit on the very edge of the Ritual Tower in the Western Approach since it sits on a cliff, so it feels like she’s on the edge of the world, BUT. Her ALL TIME favorite place to go? The Frostback Basin. She likes to sit over the big cavern that makes Dorian say, “Be careful, I don’t want to have to tell Cullen you fell to your death” or however he phrases it.
Vikara is happy just about anywhere. She’s been Dalish her whole life, so she’s used to moving around. Skyhold feels very much like home, though. It isn’t until after Trespasser that she realizes it’s because it feels like Solas.
Asena likes Val Royeux, surprisingly. She gets funny stares, but it’s fancy like Josephine. She likes to shop for presents for her tiny human girlfriend whenever she can spare the time, and when Josephine is there with her, she likes to swing her arm over her shoulders and look smugly at everyone who passes by like she’s saying, “Yeah that’s right. This is my girl.”
Gemma weirdly likes the Deep Roads? She was born in Orzammar and lived there til she was 19 and got fed up with it all, so the Deep Roads remind her of home a bit? And let her work out her angst against it?
Kalam doesn’t like to sit still. She has to be moving like all the time. The longest she’s ever stayed in one place was for like a week at Skyhold and that was because she fell off the walkway between Cullen’s office and the castle because she was showing off for Sera. Her favorite place is wherever Sera is. Sera is her favorite place.
Madeira likes the Emprise because dragons. And because TIB likes dragons. And dragons. Did she mention dragons? There’s three there, y’know.
38-  are there any insults they find to be especially offensive? (i.e. “knife ear”/”rabbit” for elves, “oxmen” for qunari, ect.)
Alena doesn’t take much to heart. After everything she’s been through, it’s hardly worth getting upset over a few racist remarks, isn’t it? She’s alive, she’s in love, she’s powerful, it shouldn’t be a big deal. Though, the things people say at Halamshiral really get under her skin. She isn’t sure what she expected, but it wasn’t that noble assholes would be saying that shit to her face. So, that, paired with their creepy advances on Cullen? Nah, nah, she had to put a stop to it, partly to help Cullen get out from under the pervs and partly so she could be all smug like, “Yeah, that’s right bitches, this rabbit nabbed Cullen Stanton Rutherford, Commander of the Inquisition’s Forces and Former Knight-Captain/Commander of Kirkwall.”
Vikara gets mad over pretty much all the elven slurs. Like scary mad. Like, you can physically feel how mad she is because the temperature drops quite a bit. She won’t say anything, though, not if it’s just her. If they come after Sera or Solas though? Oh hell no. Hellllllllllllllllllll no. She’s hurting someone. Hands down.
Asena doesn’t care. She cares that Josephine cares, but that’s it, and even then she just tells Josephine that it doesn’t bother her and tries to persuade her to drop it. (There is something ridiculously attractive about how Josephine will cut the racists down to size, though, with just a few sharp words.)
Gemma hates being called short. Like, she knows she’s hot as hell, and Blackwall certainly thinks she’s hot as hell, but she gets so annoyed when people point out her height.
Kalam tries to make a fun spin on the ones like Oxwoman, but it’s just to hide that they do bother her a lot. It helps when Sera catches on and they start playing off one another to roll through their discomfort.
Madeira isn’t bothered. She’s got more important things to worry about, and TIB thinks the sun shines out her ass so why should she care about what some layabout thinks of her?
39-  if varric gave them a nickname, what would it be?
I’ve answered this before for at least some of my girls but I can’t find the post e_e oeurv. Time to think of new ones I guess
Alena would be something like Snowball because of her hair. Later, like way later, like a month before Corypheus, she would tell him he can call her Lenny, which up until that point was a name expressly reserved for Anders. It’s her way of telling him she loves him as much as if he were her own brother.
Vikara would be Pinky because of her vallaslin.
Asena might be Shiny because her horns are polished and tipped at the end and she likes Josephine who is a shiny thing.
Gemma is Ghost because she sneaks about the battlefield. She made it all the way through the giant’s grove in the Emerald Graves without alerting a single giant or mammoth once.
Kalam is Lilly, because it pairs nicely with Buttercup and that’s what he calls Sera. (I guess. Idk. Kalam is my weakest Inquisitor tbh. She’s just a taller, buffer, more coherent Sera.)
Madeira would be Princess because she’s a royal pain in his ass powerful and commanding.
@_@ was that it? Was that the end of it? I... I need to lie down. Omg. (THank you, sweetie!~)

🎃Halloween🎃
🧡Positive things🧡 about the 👻 Halloween Banner 👻:
All the units have their own color! This makes it easier for people who want to snipe or avoid certain units.
All the units are perfectly viable with little effort!
A banner of firsts! Not only is this banner full of seasonal firsts for these characters (aside from one character) but they also are firsts for their specific units! Ex: Myrrh is the first red armored dragon, Mia is the first flying staff user, etc.
This year's Halloween units features the return of cute Halloween cookies in their special attack art!
New Halloween costumes! The only characters with similar costumes from last year are Mia and Nowi with the witch theme. (We will get to this is in Mia's specifics)
🍬🍭🍫Onto Character specifics!🍫🍭🍬
🎃Moonlit Witch Mia🎃
As stated earlier, Mia is the only unit that shares a costume theme with a previous Halloween unit. However, despite sharing a theme, she and Nowi have unique spins on the idea! Nowi is more frilly and purple and Mia has a pumpkin theme with orange!
As stated earlier, she is the first flying cleric! She even comes with 'Hone fliers'!
In the paralouge, she is incredibly sweet with Myrrh. Offering to team up with her just so that the child like dragon wouldn't be alone.
She, Myrrh, and Niles are also readily help Marth in the Tempest Trials. (With Mia pushing Dorcas to help as well)
Her Witchy Wand+ can be refined with the ever loved Wrathful or Dazzling Staff skills!
Her Witchy Wand+ can also reset the Special cooldown of multiple enemies!
Mia is here and ready to party! Her enthusiasm for the Harvest Festival is contagious!
She acknowledges that she'll probably always will get sexist comments about being a female merc but Mia is quick to point out that festivals are for everyone to have fun, regardless of age or gender, and encourages the player to join in as well!
"Wah!"😝
🍾Beverage Ninja Kagero🍾
Upon her release, this variant of Kagero produces quite the collection of harmless drunk Kagero jokes!
She is the first armored green dagger unit! Fitting as her other seasonal was the first flying dagger unit.
The first unit to wear a maid outfit despite it not being her base class.
Despite there being two other maid units, Kagero's outfit is slightly different with the skirt being more form fitting.
Her new weapon, Bottled 'Juice'+, also inflicts a Special cooldown charge on foes!
The fact that her weapon is called 'Juice' despite appearing like champagne or even wine is pretty funny as Intsys tends to bend over backwards to censor or discourage alchohol consumption.
Despite not being hilariously drunk as the memes say, Kagero's dead pan seriousness is it's own brand of funny!
Her dialogue references traditional Asian sweets like dango and rice crackers and how the Conquest Maid class are essentially just Nohrian ninjas in many ways!
"Those who do not give treats must suffer a trick. That is the rule."😤
😈Forbidden Tease Niles😈
Niles is the first Halloween unit to have a devil inspired costume and, goodness, does it suit him!
He is also the first blue armored archer and the second armored archer in general! (The first being Hallowee Jakob from last year)
The Niles variant comes with 'Fortify Armor'! (Useful for Armor Emblem users;3)
Niles is super fun as a Halloween devil! His dirty flirty humor is played up to the max in the seasonal! Super in character!
Speaking of his flirty nature, he does have a line that is a bit of a reference to his bisexuality (specifically mlm): "A trick...or a treat...I wonder which the young prince desires?" This could be a reference to his Lord Leo, as Niles is prone to messing with him, Alfonse, whom Niles calls a "Pretty piece of porcelain", or even Male Corrin, who Niles can S-Support in Fates
Despite being a jokester, Niles level 40 dialogue brings up a good point of being true to yourself and how people, even the Summoner, tend to wear masks. Niles tends to assume that everyone has hidden intentions so it's very in character. (Even though he plays it as a bit of a dirty joke at the end)
"If you want some of my candy...You're going to have to beg. Say 'pretty please'"😘
🦇Spooky Monster Myrrh🦇
Myrrh is pretty unique in terms of design! She isn't simply a vampire, but her costume specifically plays up a the bat part! With cute fluff and wings!
As stated before she is the first red armored dragon! She also comes with 'Armor March'!
Her sprite does a cute little hop before she transforms!
Her ribbon 'ears' are so cute, you can get them as an accessory in the latest 'Tap Battle'
She's just a kid out here to have a fun festival!;u;
Even though her level 40 dialogue is a little sad, since she acknowledges she will outlive most of the people she has met, Myrrh reminds us the importance of memories and holding them close!
This variant references her father and her time in the Darkling Woods!
Myrrh's very sweet as she mentions that while she wants candy she would prefer to not get any by playing any 'mean' tricks.
"Candy Grudge!"🍬
🐂Pumpkin Smasher Dorcas🐂
This Halloween variant is free via the 'Tempest Trials'!
He is the first Halloween unit to be inspired by minotaurs! These are mythical creatures that are part bull and part man. (Fitting as Mia calls him a 'big ox' in the 'Tempest Trials')
His axe not only looks like it's made of candy but has cute matching bull horns on the pumpkin!
Even during a festival, Dorcas is thinking of his wife. He mentions bringing her candy and how she would be sketching if she were here or his outfit making him smile!
The only Halloween unit to actively mention passing out candy to people!
Continuing the 'Bad Mutton' meme, Dorcas says this about the candy: "Here, take some of this candy off my hands. It looks questionable, but...it's safe. Tested it myself."
His "Outlaw no more" line references the fact he was a bandit before meeting Lyn in Blazing Blade.
This variant of Dorcas further establishes his relationship with Natalie but it also establishes that he enjoyed making kids smile during the Harvest Festival! (This further makes me personally headcanon that the two would be wonderful parents and that these two go to lots of festivals after Natalie gets better;u;)
"You think I look good in this getup? I'm just not seeing it."😑
Special thanks to @mind-blaze for proof reading and helping me with analyzing them as units

My Episode 9 Wishlist (with a dab of speculation)
Happy May the 4th (Force) My Reylos, Star Wars fans, and others-I-amuse-in-some-way!
So we’ve all heard the May the 4th tale that if you post your wishlist and with a tiny bit of magic maybe, possibly some fraction part of your wish will come true, right???
Tumblr media
No?
I knew it was just me, dagnabbit. Me and my delusions of grandeur. It’s just like sand, it gets everywhere. Ugh (I feel like I’ve done this joke a lot, I go back to the well, but it’s dry).
But, but, I’ve been a really good, bad Star Wars fan Reylo this year (all in how you define good and bad…this is what I get when I google it, cause I’m lazy:
Tumblr media
) So here goes nuttin’:
My List of Wishes (ok, ok Fan Girl Demands Full of Feels)
Properly honor the Skywalker lightsaber – AHHHH! They broke an antique!! Get some duck tape quick!!
Tumblr media
What could happen:
o   Rey uses Skywalker crystal, but designs a new hilt.
§  My feelings: I’m ok with this, this could be an interesting side story or comic. But I’m NOT a fan of her having a two bladed lightsaber similar to her staff or Darth Maul. I was recently in a panel with someone who’s into weapons training at JordanCon and I heard: although something with two blades might look cool, it’s not realistically practical because it makes it more difficult to guard yourself. And my headcanon is Rey is a practical gal.
Tumblr media
§  Could it be an interesting unstable blue lightsaber cause it’s cracked? (And be another thing Rey and Kylo have in common…And if Kylo’s cracked crystal was Vader’s we’d have cracked Anakin and cracked Vader and that crack could combine (Captain Planet! No wait…)and Force Balance stuff
o   Rey finds a new crystal, gives Skywalker crystal to Ben as a gift (aww) when he embraces the lights again (aww) (Maybe she gives him a graduation from the dark side to the light party? No? Mmm…ok I’ll fangirl out and say engagement/wedding gift. I went there PEOPLE.
o   Rey and Kylo Ren done broke it together, so they gotta fix it together (aww) So sweet, it could be like a date. Lightsaber Repair AND Chill. Hands on projects are really good for your relationship. *wink wink*
o   Rey and Ben half the crystal (if that possible?) and make two new lightsabers like nifty friendship thingies you see
o   The lightsaber becomes a nice paperweight for Rey’s Jedi Office™ or The Throne of Ren™ (AKA they fuhgeddaboudit)(And if Star Wars rhymes then I guess it goes back to being nothing like it was before Anakin found it? Maybe? Hmm. But that makes me sad.)
Don’t mess with Chewie or the Falcon
o   Right now I’m really glad this is Star Wars and not GOT or Harry Potter (J.K. Rowling killed me when she killed Hedwig…it was just so unnecessary)
§  Ok, our father figures Han and Luke are gone. I want Chewie to stay in this role for Rey, and even for Ben. And with Leia gone, I really, really need Chewie there. Seriously.
·      He was the first to go in the old canon, so now maybe he’s the last?
·      I need him to be grandpa to Han’s grandbabies. I really have to have this. White-haired Gramps Chewie.
§  I’m sure the good ship lollipop will stop flying one day. But I’m not interested in seeing that on screen. Have mercy.
Tumblr media
·      Ben Solo Redemption
o   Else, what was this, the tragedy of the Skywalker clan?
§  And, lo, the Force did harden the heart of the last Skywalker Solo and the evil Pharaoh-o Ren™ did perish for the wickedness of his forefather, and, lo, they were wiped from the galaxy, and cursed is the name Skywalker and Solo and none shall utter it ever, ever again, yea, even unto an age.
§  Why you wanna make me sad? Star Wars + Sad = DOEs Not Compute (No, no seriously life is sad enough)
o   There’s no morale to the story for my kids. Or even my cats.
§  Once upon time two of the most beloved space characters of all time Leia and Han had a baby and that baby was Kylo Ren and he turned bad and was Pharaoh-o Ren™ and they executed him. AKA I guess you’re just born bad. If you feel like you’re a bad person, you should probably just give up now cause there’s no hope (This isn’t Star Wars: Episode 9 No Hope™, right? Just checking)
Reylo Fight Round 2
Tumblr media
o   Ok in my wildest lil Reylo dreams I never thought Rey and Kylo would fight together on the same-ish side (though how very brief)….I really thought they’d fight each other AND Kylo would openly spare Rey. Anyways call me crazy but I’d like to see them fight each other again. And after the end of TLJ, I think it’s super plausible.
§  If Rey wins:
·      I’d love for Rey to have a “Ben/Kylo join me” scene. We don’t get these scenes with female characters in charge (or in my experience, at least). Give in to your light side!
o   Also, I mean, she thought Ben would return to the light, but did she outright ask him? These peeps need to communicate better.
·      Or, Kylo starts confessing some deep regretful feels at the point of death, I’m talking something equally as sorrowful as his outbursts are rage-filled, making Rey super conflicted about what to do with him
Tumblr media
o   Sorta her Ben-returns-to-the-light-wish is granted but it’s practically too late
o   Should/would she trust him?
o   Could she kill someone who wants to be good again??
§  If Kylo wins:
·      He spares her (I done said Star Wars shouldn’t be sad, right?)
o   Cause he confesses his deepest feels for her! (yeah, yeah in my fangirl dreams)
Tumblr media
o   Mm, does he kinda owe her a life-debt for not killing him in TLJ when he was knocked out?
·      He takes her prisoner again and we go down the First Order rabbit hole a final time
§  Tie!:
·      Well, I guess they’d just have to learn to live together, cause they could fight until the bantha-cows come home, but it wouldn’t do any good, so, yeah, balance, harmony together and stuff
      Supreme Leader Hux
Tumblr media
o   Cause, I mean, can’t the average man get ahead as the boss in the galaxy? It’s always some Force user?
§  Arguably aren’t their more non-Force users? Maybe they don’t want to be ruled over by some mystical dude anymore.
o   I like for people to get their dreams
§  Even if they are short lived…
o   First Order Civil War seems more likely…you really want me to believe NO ONE would help the Resistance on Crait, time jump, Resistance is stronger than ever?
      Reylo Fight United 2.0
Tumblr media
o   I just need more of this in my life
A “real” Reylo Kiss
o   Cause regardless of Reylo, there’s not enough kissing in this trilogy compared to the others
Tumblr media
o   ForceTime is great and all, but puts me in a Mockingbird “Real or Not Real” state of mind. Eventually the long-distance relationship has to have some in-person one on one time.
o   Arguably, it might, mean more if they kiss naturally opposed to ForceTime.
§  Kinda of, oh-look, they like each other, and it’s not just about the Force
Tumblr media
Mountains
o   I dunno, I just wanna see mountains Gandalf.
Tumblr media
     Anakin Force Ghost
o   Argh stuff you see in Art Books and the idea gets stuck in your head.
Tumblr media
      Luke-y Pooh Force Ghost
o   So long as he’s standing with the others at the end I’m good
Tumblr media
o   But just hearding a creepy Luke ghost voice could be cool, too
A Happy Ending
o   IDK, don’t Finn, Poe, and Rose deserve metals?
Tumblr media
§  Give the Wookie one, too!!
o   Or do be Senators in a Neo-Senate?
o   StormRose wedding!
o   I see Poe trading in his X-Wing for a boat on the lake and having really great Resistance Independence Day BBQs, but doesn’t translate well on film

Voltron Ask Game
Tagged by @bellenomura
wow I don’t think I’ve done stuff like these for ages not lolol thank you for the tag!
How did you discover the show?
I’ve seen it on my dash for a long time, I think ever since the show started I followed a lot of people who got into it. I wasn’t very interested in western shows, was too busy with yoi at the time you see... also it wasn’t long before vld became infamous as a fandom so that kept me from giving the show a chance. But then one day I just ended up seeing a post about Shiro (who I can’t believe I didn’t notice till then, I think this should be around late Oct/ early Nov last year?) and basically Shiro was the reason I even got a netflix account only to find out vld was geoblocked because dreamworks tv is still airing it in malaysia lsdkfjadlkfj.
Was it love at first sight or did it take you a while to get into the the show?
HNNGGG lol this is funny now that I think about it because while watching the first time I felt so much secondhand embarrassment? LMAO I dunno I think I got so used to anime and Japanese dubs that I was sinking in my chair every time they went “yeah!” or the cheesy “if we work together, we WIN together!!” “YEAH!!” LOL I still feel the same tbh I think I couldn’t scratch the discomfort of hearing it even though watching anime with subs are probably saying something similar. I guess when watching anime it helped that I wasn’t hearing it in a language I fully understood? ANYWAY at the time I decided to watch it though I was curious about Sheith, so I skipped all the eps that had no Sheith in them. Back then I was a shipper first, fan second. LOL
It was when I got updated with all the sheith eps and genuinely started getting interested with the characters and the plot that was the only time I started watching properly wwww
Do you have a favorite episode?
LMAO I don’t like this question. Let’s put an s an the end of that.
Quite obv tied at the top: S0201, S0208, S0213.
Now very likely in order S0505, S0504, S0212, S0203, S0210 (I love S2 ok)
And also but probably not in order S0101, S0102, S0303, S0305, S0306
Do you have a favorite Paladin?
SHIROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO and honestly Keeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeef the only difference here is i want to marry shiro but i want shiro to marry keef.
Do you have a favorite Lion? (If it’s different from your fav Paladin, why?)
Territorial, temperamental Red. I miss her. She’s too friendly now. LOL
Do you have a favorite Villian?
Lotor is technically a gray area but god i loved him so much when he was first introduced as a “villain” only to discover he’s not quite. He’s the reason I loved season 3 so much despite shiro being gone and he’s clearly my favorite character aside from Shiro and Keith. I don’t think the current villains are as compelling, but I think for clear-cut villains I love Haggar the most.
Do you have a favorite Alien Race? (Recurring and/or minor)
Half/part galrans. Cream of the crop, really. Everyone else can go home.
Favorite side / other character(s)- Rebels, Generals, Blade of Marmora, Garrison, etc?
Krolia. Acxa. Sven.
How/Why did you join the fandom?
Hmm. I don’t think I engage as much if not at all lol I’m only here to RB and scream and cry in the tags? I’m mostly on twitter too so.
Care to share your favorite headcanon?
Not quite. Hahaha! I’m afraid it won’t come true if I say it LOL
What do you think is the best part of the show?
The voice acting, the action scenes specifically keith + krolia vs galrans in bloodlines, shiro vs sendak, voltron vs robeast in 0203, voltron vs zarkon 0213, and those really nice cinematic shots (re: lighting the flame at kral zera, voltron in naxzela among the smoke god what a boner shot, shiro in the snow, sheith + the sunset in across the universe LMAO)
Technically not “part” of the show but the fanart, the fanfics and the staff art has to be the best things I enjoy.
Do you think you’ll stick it out until the end of the show?
Yep
Tag your friends or someone you want to get to know better:
lol i don’t have any jkjk . thanks again for the tag! :)

Putting these guys in a separate post (x): an even more literal role swap--and gender swap and species/race swap--with Princess Toffee of the Royal Butterfly Family and Star the Immortal Monster of Septarsis:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Man, I ultimately did not care for the S3 “The Battle for Mewni” TV movie, but brainstorming headcanons for this AU so far has used stuff from that TV movie (while admittedly criticizing said TV movie in a more meta way during the course of said brainstorming). It’s also pulled from some other AU ideas I’ve had but haven’t shared before (maybe I’ll pinpoint the origins of that some other time). Also, this ended up getting long. Also, I now feel bad for mewman Princess Toffee in my AU. I apparently can’t let Toffee be happy ever in my AUs. Also, feeling bad for Septarian Star in the AU too--but then again, I always feel bad for the monsters in SVTFOE.
@komododragonhustler (who first inspired me with her mewman Princess Toffee AU to just share my stray AU thought of more literally swapping Toffee and Star so that Toffee was the mewman princess and Star the monster)
@colorwizard
@detectiveashcroft
@lemonadesoda (who helped me brainstorm a lot of this)
It was actually really interesting to try to imagine their original personalities still existing in some way under these different circumstances. (Though granted, my headcanons on and preferences for Toffee and Star and SVTFOE still influence this.)
Anyway:
Princess Toffee:
Tumblr media
-Her birth was a scandal. Her father isn’t River. Her father is a low-ranking castle guard whom an unmarried Moon had one night of passion with.
-Moon’s love life was even more complicated; and it was only later that she and River fell in love, got together, and married, when Princess Toffee was four years old. River is Toffee’s step father/adoptive father.
-Princess Toffee inherited her dark hair, dark skin, and yellow eyes from her commoner father. (Playing fast and loose with the sci fi of an alien species in a fantasy world: the yellow eyes were just a mutation of mewman genetics that Princess Toffee inherited from her father.) Features underlying that coloring are mostly inherited from Moon, i.e. face shape, eye shape, etc.
-The queen having an illegitimate child with essentially a mewman commoner was bad enough. Any marriage with the father was out of the question.
-There has never been an attempt made to hide the basic truth of her heritage from Princess Toffee. She’s known her father was a commoner and that she is Moon’s illegitimate daughter her whole life.
-Princess Toffee never met her biological father. She’s been told he fell ill and passed away while Moon was pregnant with her. Deep down, Toffee is extremely paranoid about this explanation.
-Princess Toffee knows very little about her biological father, Moon refuses to talk about him, no one talks about him. All she knows is that he’s where she gets the color of her hair, skin, and eyes from; that he was a castle guard; that he wasn’t of royal or noble birth, just a commoner, little more than a peasant.
-Queen Moon did face pressure to finally wed someone fitting her rank and produce a legitimate heir when Princess Toffee was born. The royal court essentially only willing to hold on to Princess Toffee temporarily until a more legitimate heir was born, and then advise the queen to quietly send her firstborn away to some noble’s estate, or somewhere else, anywhere else, and remove her from the line of succession.
-Moon does not want to send her firstborn away, she wants to keep her close. But she is more willing to accept removing her as successor to the throne.
-While Princess Toffee wasn’t even a year old, a magically maimed but still actively fighting General Star dramatically put an end to such thoughts and that specific pressure from the court. In the last fight he had with Moon before she finally subdued him, and then had him imprisoned and banished, Star the Immortal Monster caused her grievous injury in another attempt to kill her, and came very close to succeeding. Queen Moon survived, largely due to the efforts of the royal medical staff. But though they saved her life, they found they could not repair all of the physical damage General Star had left--his blade and mace had cut deeply enough to permanently make the queen unable to have any more biological children. This was not even something the correct use of magic could fix, since General Star had secured enchanted weaponry in his latest assassination attempt, weaponry that at least proved effective enough to make Moon unable to give birth again, even if it had failed in the Septarian monster’s one goal: slay Moon.
-That left Princess Toffee as the only biological heir Moon would ever have. Princess Toffee became the only biological heir who could directly continue the Royal Butterfly line. (Toffee is aware of this too, and it gnaws at her.)
-Princess Toffee faces more direct pressure to perform well given her low-born father, her status as the queen’s illegitimate daughter, and place as the only biological heir the queen will ever have.
-Moon has no idea why, it struck her as another part of Eclipsa’s seemingly eccentric and candy-fixated nature--but the old queen added another element to their contract, one that was clearly going to happen. Eclipsa made Moon promise that even when she just used the spell she was about to share with her, Moon was bound to name her firstborn “Toffee.” Moon found that a foolish name to give anyone, let alone her own future child. But Eclipsa wouldn’t budge on this, and at least tied what seemed like a small and innocuous demand to an inevitability, rather than tying the larger demand (her freedom) to that inevitability. So, Moon agreed, and years later, after she had used Eclipsa’s spell against General Star, Moon had the unsettling sensation of her mouth moving against her conscious will to name her firstborn according to Eclipsa’s wishes.
-Princess Toffee initially tries to do well and obey under the heightened societal pressure. As a young child, she’s sensitive and thoughtful, and wants her family to love her, and make them proud. She doesn’t want to be disliked, or belittled. She thinks that if she does well, she’ll earn less dislike, and earn more love and kindness.
-Queen Moon and King River are often busy, leaving Princess Toffee in the care of servants and guards. When she was little, Toffee often wanted more attention from them.
-Princess Toffee’s first question about Mewnipendance Day was where mewmans came from before they lived here, because the picture book says they came to this land, they weren’t living here already. No one can give her a satisfactorily clear answer. They soon basically tell her to be quiet and stop asking so many questions. Princess Toffee looks at the picturebook more closely, and has more questions that no one can really answer. Her great curiosity is still ultimately treated with disdain and irritation.
-Princess Toffee does end up resenting Moon, and this resentment builds. Toffee has a very strained relationship with Moon, something that just deteriorates as time goes on. Toffee starts wanting to just be a better queen than her mother out of spite; and to prove wrong those expecting her to fail, shut up those who scorn her because of the circumstances of her birth, justify her accidental existence. Wanting to be the better queen, Toffee more actively looks for where Moon is lacking in areas of her reign, so she can see where she can improve when it’s her turn. To her growing cynicism, Toffee finds a lot of flaws. Such thoughts expand to thinking the whole system, her whole society, is terribly flawed. Her desire to improve things becomes more complicated, and develops into a true desire to help.
-The negative treatment Princess Toffee faces because of her illegitimacy and lowborn heritage does help make her more open to others her people treat badly, and far worse than her.
-Princess Toffee tries not to think that her turn to rule--according to what she’s heard--hinges upon her mother’s death. Toffee’s relationship with her mother really deteriorates, but not to the point that Toffee wishes her dead, and the thought of losing her still frightens her on some primal level. Though she heard this happens less often in the line of Butterfly succession, Toffee hopes for this option--that Moon will retire when she grows too old, and Toffee can take over then.
-When Princess Toffee stopped believing her literal grandmother--Moon’s mother--was sent to a home for grandmothers, she asked to know a little bit more about her, and what happened to her. Moon refused even to talk about her, and Toffee gave up, feeling frustrated, but also thinking Moon probably felt the sting of her own mother’s death after all this time, enough that it still made it hard to even talk about her.
-Princess Toffee never learned of General Star’s existence.
-As Princess Toffee’s resentment for and disappointment in Moon grows, so does her belief that Moon is just as disappointed in her. She believes her mother is ashamed to have her for a daughter and heir.
-Princess Toffee has what she ultimately considers an irrational and humiliating fear of warnicorns. It’s just, when she was very little, they seemed terribly big and their long horns terribly sharp and just overall terribly mean-looking; she also thought the picture books made them look scary too. Just, for some reason despite what grown-up mewmans tried to tell her with their own words or their books and such, the warnicorns terrified the young princess more than any stories of monsters or depictions of them--perhaps because she saw warnicorns first, up-close and personal, and could literally understand how their great size dwarfed her, how sharp their horns seemed, and how mean they looked in the flesh. It’s a fear that lingers, and makes the warnicorn stampede spell difficult to do later. Toffee can barely ride a warnicorn, and she feels it’s just another thing for her mother to be disappointed over.
-Princess Toffee is actually more fond of her stepfather/adoptive father River. He doesn’t understand her, but he’s a little more supportive, and that’s appreciated. But even he ends up disappointing her when she realizes how incompetent he can be, and even unthinkingly and ignorantly cruel to others; and she grows to dislike his monster hunts. Still, he’s a bit more supportive, and Toffee continues to appreciate that on some level.
-Princess Toffee can’t escape the disdain the majority of her environment--the royal court, noble family on both sides, even much of visiting royalty from other kingdoms--has for her illegitimate status and lowborn heritage. She ends up reciprocating their disdain. She does not really get along with her cousins, or any of her extended family. For a long time, Princess Toffee grows up pretty lonely.
-Princess Toffee’s bookworm nature, struggle with her shy streak, and then ultimately her different way of thinking--it all doesn’t help attract any friends or companionship either, she comes off as very strange to most mewmans, and then there’s still the scandal and disgrace of her birth that they won’t forget.
-Princess Toffee bonds with a companion animal at least. She cares for and rides a runty winged manticore mount that had been born in the royal stables, and would have otherwise been disregarded if not for her attention. Toffee cares about this animal a lot, and calls him “Flow.”
-Princess Toffee doesn’t make friends with Princess Ponyhead, they have no relationship to speak of. They are just acquaintances made during royal functions.
-Princess Toffee never dates or befriends Prince Tom, though the royal court encourages their relationship. After she is made to dance with him at a ball, Tom develops an infatuation for her that she does not understand. Princess Toffee regularly rejects his request for a first date, and grows increasingly irritated with him for not listening to her clear refusal, even as her way of stating it has grown less polite and more blunt every time she has to repeat herself.
-Princess Toffee hasn’t developed any signs of romantic interest in anyone. Sometimes she wonders if something’s wrong with her. Sometimes she wonders if she can get away with being a better queen without getting married or producing a  biological heir. Sometimes she wonders if she could go down as the best queen by being the last one, and abolishing the entire system and establishing a better one to replace it.
-Princess Toffee eventually makes friends with the “Alternative Monsters”, who seem surprisingly friendly, friendlier than most mewmans she’s encountered. It adds to the young heir’s growing disillusionment with her mewman kingdom and how they think of and treat monsters. Toffee sneaks out to spend time with them, also bringing them food and clothes too. For anyone interested and willing, she helps teach them writing and reading, either the whole thing or just a little more to refine what they know.
-Princess Toffee’s Secrets Closet includes a makeshift lab for mechanical and technological invention. The technology she’s seen scattered around Mewni, and more of in the wider multiverse--well, she’d like to see it grow on Mewni. She thinks it could be very useful and helpful, and another way for her to prove she can be a better queen. Also, she’s just interested in the subject matter.
-Princess Toffee tries to help her kingdom run better, more efficiently. She tries methods of policy and mechanical invention. But when she tries to turn her ideas into something, they fail in a couple of ways. Either no one from the court listens to her. Or she goes ahead and at the first sign of a small or big error, or when her efforts aren’t met with immediate success, the royal court shuts her attempt down. Queen Moon faintly praises Princess Toffee for her initiative and desire to engage with how the kingdom functions--but then she doesn’t really back her up, give any real support, or truly take her seriously, underestimating her daughter and thinking she’s too naive, too impatient and impulsive, too immature, and simply not ready. This all deeply frustrates Toffee, and further damages the relationship she has with her mother.
-When Princess Toffee makes any effort to provide relief to monsters, no matter how she tries to phrase it--it’s only charity, it’s only to further our own reputation (she thinks to try any lie to make this happen)--the resistance she meets from the Butterfly kingdom is even greater and rather more vitriolic.
-Princess Toffee tries to use royal lessons on restraint, composure, biding one’s time, building up support, and even deception, etc., to bite her tongue on what she really thinks about mewmans and monsters until she’s in a better position to make real change, but the young heir finds this hard to practice. However, she is learning.
-Princess Toffee largely keeps all of her hair behind a cloth headband because she feels more comfortable that way. She has briefly considered a haircut, but then settles with her current hair length--not too long, not too short, and just combining it with her usual cloth headband.
-Queen Moon at least thinks Princess Toffee is ready to be personally trained in martial combat with her. Learning the sword and other weapons and fighting styles from her mother is one of the few things Princess Toffee still enjoys about their relationship. Toffee finds that Moon feels more bearable when she’s teaching her how to act in battle and sparring with her, things feel...nicer and easier between them. Princess Toffee looks forward to meeting Queen Moon in the training hall most of the time. She considers it one of the few bright spots left about her mother.
-Outside of the training hall, things go back to normal: strained, bad. As Princess Toffee grows older, she and Queen Moon keep getting into more heated arguments.
-Princess Toffee initially does put more conscious effort in trying to keep her distance from the servants and lower classes in an attempt to make up for her lowborn heritage, and because Moon directly asked her to, and also heard the same from others of the royal court. That attempt gradually breaks down, but not easily, she had grown used to it; in any case, she manages to make Arts & Crafts friends later--Ruberiot the Songstrel, Foolduke, and the genius Mime. They’re generally more respectful of her being royalty and just consider that; they actually are interested that she has partial lowborn heritage closer to their own lower rank; and grow fond of the princess herself. Princess Toffee likes Ruberiot’s music, and Ruberiot actually grows more supportive of her different thinking and efforts/desire to change the Butterfly Kingdom. Foolduke appreciates it whenever Princess Toffee cracks a dry/deadpan/sarcastic joke, and tries to teach the princess about the art of comedy and using it for social commentary. Mime is just generally almost as kind as her artistic genius, and is open to befriending the young heir.
-Getting to know the Butterfly princess longer and better, Ruberiot runs into a dilemma. He wants to perform a better Song Day, especially for someone he considers a friend, and believes will be a great queen, and would like to use music to gain support for her and spread her ideas farther. But he realizes that Princess Toffee still has a shy streak and still would like to have her privacy. Even what Ruberiot considers her uncharacteristic resistance to making Song Day work for an objective tells him she’s really anxious about the whole thing and would rather not have it happen.
-Princess Toffee struggles to balance her public persona--and using that to enact public change--with her desire for privacy.
-Princess Toffee straight up finds common ground with Ariel, princess of another Disney story--she becomes fascinated with and feels closer to a people her royal parent(s) harbor disdain for, becomes entranced by remnants of what they build. Part of this involves Princess Toffee stumbling upon the ancient monster temple, and exploring it, and finding refuge there. Her method of transport to there is Flow, the runty winged manticore mount from the royal stables that she cares for.
-Princess Toffee thinks a lot, and some of her thoughts spiral into something like this: I actually feel miserable Why do I feel so miserable, there are others worse off than me, I’ve been born into a family and people that profit off the misery of others, I don’t have the right to feel unhappy--I should do more, I need to take action, not be this emotional, but...what? how? I don’t -- This temple, what they built is amazing--but am I only interested in it as a novelty, am I reducing their culture to a novelty for my own amusement?--I should share this with actual monsters--how many monsters could this ruin still house--what if it was restored, repaired?--but I don’t know how to even approach them about this, how to bring this up--and I still want this to myself, I can come here and just be--but it’s not mine, it can’t be mine, I can’t claim something my ancestors destroyed and left to rot, that doesn’t begin to help anything at all, I’m as bad as them, I always will be--this should be a safe harbor for monsters, not me--but -- am I still rebelling out of spite, just to be contrary with my mother and everyone, do I really truly care enough about the people my kingdom hurt?--am I just trying to make myself feel better doing this?--am I just using this to prove myself the better queen?--but I don’t want to be in charge forever, or--that is--monsters should make their own choices, they should be actually free, so much of this is because they’re not, they’re not free, I should at least help them get to that point, but to stay as a queen above wouldn’t work with that, it couldn’t--I can’t just be a queen that continues to rule them and try to avoid cruelty or apathy while everyone else pretty much went crazy with that--I can’t keep ruling them, they should get to rule themselves--for corn’s sake, they had their own royalty before, Avarius for instance, and probably more real than that pushover figurehead puppet king my mother deals with--and other forms of rule, they may have had that too -- I wish I could run away from all of this--and I shouldn’t, I should make things better--but sometimes I really don’t want this, all these problems Mother left behind and doesn’t care about, all the problems my ancestors left behind, why do I have to deal with this, why couldn’t Mother or Grandmother have dealt with this, why couldn’t they see, why couldn’t they care--
-When Princess Toffee is 13 years old, Queen Moon straight up ends up pulling a King Triton, and this severely damages her relationship with Toffee further. Moon was already growing aggravated by what she considered her only daughter’s increasingly poor attitude, vitriolic and unbecoming dissent, and her skipping classes with tutors. When the queen realizes Princess Toffee has been running off to some ancient monster temple and wasting time there, and is actually fascinated by relics of some sacrilegious barbarian cult--well, she snaps. She can’t have her only daughter feeling so attached to monsters, and possibly prioritize them over mewmans, the Butterfly kingdom. The queen still remembers the violence General Star continued against her until Moon finally imprisoned and banished him. The queen still remembers the news that General Star had killed her mother. The queen still has the prejudices against monsters she was raised with and was able to swallow and accept. Moon first sends Toffee’s manticore Flow away through a portal via dimensional scissors, then addresses her daughter alone. She and Toffee get into one of their worse arguments yet. Toffee actually starts feeling a little scared of Moon’s rage, she’s never seen her this angry before. Queen Moon bodily drags Princess Toffee out of the temple, and this action further disturbs the young heir. Then the queen raises her wand toward the temple, and Princess Toffee is hit with terrible realization, and immediately begs her mother to stop. But Queen Moon destroys the ancient monster temple with the wand, despite Princess Toffee’s increasingly desperate and frantic pleas for her to stop. When it’s over, Queen Moon is only shaken out of her rage when she sees her normally vocally rebellious daughter crumple down sobbing. Queen Moon tries to make her come home, but Princess Toffee won’t move, and again Queen Moon bodily drags her away, through another portal cut by dimensional scissors, and leaves her alone crying in her room back at Butterfly castle.
(-Moon feels some guilt that it came to this, but she can’t bring herself to think she did anything but what she had to do. She would not apologize for this, she doesn’t think she did anything wrong.)
-Princess Toffee refuses to speak to Queen Moon for a month after that. When she’s finally speaking to her again, her words are initially just even more detached from her mother.
-Princess Toffee hates and blames Moon for destroying what had remained of the ancient monster temple. But she also hates and blames herself for that destruction of monster culture, feeling it was her fault too.
-Moon tells no one of the ancient monster temple, not wanting anyone to know that Princess Toffee had been so fascinated by that place.
-Princess Toffee starts marauding for monsters in a disguise, sneaking around at night and stealing food and other supplies for them. She manages to keep this a secret from everyone.
-Princess Toffee manages to steal Hekapoo’s scissors. Hekapoo doesn’t seem to notice, especially since Toffee doesn’t go scissor crazy.
-Princess Toffee avoids combat training with her mother for months afterward, and Moon makes no serious attempt to make her go. Princess Toffee trains in combat by herself, but doesn’t trust herself in a physical spar with Moon...and deep down, she doesn’t really trust Moon either, though this is something she can’t articulate, isn’t that consciously aware of. Deep down, Princess Toffee now actually fears that her mother would be driven to turn the wand’s violence against her, if she angered her enough--but again, this is a thought so deep in her subconscious, she can’t recognize it yet. (Moon has no idea of this. Moon can understand Toffee’s negative reaction to her destroying something she cared about. It does not occur to her that Toffee could--on some level--now think she would ever hurt her.)
-Queen Moon’s show of furious force also leaves Princess Toffee with a certain fear of the wand itself. When she inherits it on her 14th birthday, her hand is hesitant and trembles slightly before taking it. She only does one small--even pitiful--show of magic with it because that’s customary, at least one demonstration is Butterfly tradition. After that, Princess Toffee shuts the wand in her Secrets Closet and doesn’t use it the rest of the day.
-So Princess Toffee is not sent to Earth right on the day of her 14th birthday. She’s sent there later.
-Queen Moon actually let Princess Toffee sit at the adults’ table and allowed her to participate in Game of Flags for the first time when she was 14. Moon had thought she was ready. She comes to regret this later, when the family game grew too intense and Princess Toffee lost a finger in the fighting.
-After her first Game of Flags, Princess Toffee is sent to Earth.
-Princess Toffee is less than impressed with her guide, Marco. His insistence that he’s some kind of bad boy while showing the opposite just exasperates Toffee and makes her thinks he’s just rather...lame. Also she’s still not entirely sure what he means by a “bad boy,” maybe that’s the Earth way of describing someone as reckless and rebellious, based on what he’s trying to say he is anyway.
-Princess Toffee catches sight of Jackie riding away on her skateboard, and is entranced--she has no idea what the girl is doing, what is that contraption she’s using to move, it has wheels like a carriage, but it’s decidedly not a carriage, etc. Deeply curious, Princess Toffee just silently follows Jackie, walking out on Marco while he’s still ranting and no longer paying her any attention.
-Princess Toffee learns about Earth skateboards from Jackie, and then they talk about history books. The two become friends. Princess Toffee generally admires Jackie’s calm and enjoys talking about books with her, and learning Earth’s history from her.
-Princess Toffee and Marco never really warm to each other. Marco thinks she’s a grump, a jerk, stuck-up princess, boring, etc. Princess Toffee thinks Marco is irritating, worries too much about stupid things, and is just...lame. They never really become friends, just reluctant house mates. Toffee likes Marco’s parents fine, they’re remarkably nice. She later realizes that though they love Marco, they also seem as absent as her own parents, and maybe this partly explains Marco’s annoying insecurities. But Princess Toffee still thinks Marco is lame.
-Princess Toffee first meets Ludo and his small army when they try to steal the wand just as she’s leaving the school library. She had never met them back on Mewni.
-Princess Toffee didn’t care for Marco’s attempt to protect her against Ludo’s small army. She could take care of herself, she wanted to try to talk her way out of the situation first, she didn’t want to immediately respond with a punch to the face like Marco freakin’ did--she snaps at him to stay out of mewni affairs, and tries to speak with Ludo and his soldiers like she first wanted.
-Ludo doesn’t back down, and Princess Toffee grows to find him really irritating, from his general nature to his constant mistreatment of his soldiers. But she tries to drive back Ludo and his soldiers without great force. The young heir is at a loss on how to resolve this with words alone.
-Princess Toffee has considered multiple times to use the first spell her mother taught her to destroy the wand. But even she’s not ready to do that against her kingdom and her family and their system yet (among other reasons--like, she’s still not entirely sure if there are any side-effects that could prove really disastrous, since Moon’s explanation hadn’t been that clear, irritatingly enough).
-Princess Toffee doesn’t care for Marco’s crush on Jackie either. Toffee’s even less impressed the one time Marco gets desperate enough to try being nicer to her in an obvious attempt to get closer to Jackie. Her housemate apologizes for it afterward, but Princess Toffee still doesn’t like him any better.
-Princess Toffee is at least relieved that the next time Tom comes to again ask her out on a first date, something happens between him and Marco, and it seems to end his infatuation with her, and even turn his attention to spending time with Marco instead. The young heir doesn’t really care what happened between those two, as long as Tom is out of her hair.
-Princess Toffee sometimes bonds a little with Janna in teasing Marco. But the young heir doesn’t care for Janna's great interest in her family’s ancient spell book or the wand.
-Princess Toffee likes using dimensional scissors to explore and learn about the multiverse, different dimensions, different worlds. She likes going to Quest Buy, and the dimension of Wonders and Amazement. She also uses them to sneak back to Mewni to visit the Alternative Monsters, Art & Crafts Friends, and Flow the Runt Manticore Mount.
-Since Princess Toffee wouldn’t celebrate Mewnipendance Day on Earth, she was made to do her usual public appearance alongside her family for Butterfly Castle’s annual celebration of the holiday. And as usual, Princess Toffee put on her emotionless mask and hated every minute of it.
-Princess Toffee mostly refers to Glossayrck as “old man.”
-Mewberty happened for Princess Toffee while on a trip to Quest Buy. Other than walking past Princess Ponyhead rushing about through the aisles on what she assumed to be some important errand, it felt like a normal day there. Toffee was just browsing, considering maybe buying a magazine there, when a large Septarian monster stumbled out of a jagged dimensionally sliced portal in the aisle next to her. He picked himself up, lowered his dimensional chainsaw, checked and banged on a scanner device, then turned to her and asked if she’d seen a Princess Ponyhead around. Princess Toffee had stared--and immediately felt some form of romantic attraction for someone else. She was smitten. She fell hard. Her first crush. Every cliche she could imagine. Princess Toffee stammered out that she thought she had seen Princess Ponyhead a couple aisles back, and she pointed in the direction she meant. Watching the stranger go, Toffee had blushed, felt her stomach squirm weirdly--then she felt extra hearts grow on her face and the rest of her body, and long story even shorter, Toffee later woke up to find herself crawling out of a pile of gray heart flakes, Quest Buy a mess, and a very confused Septarian monster stranger untangling himself from gray heart-marked vine-webbing. Horrified and humiliated, Princess Toffee had fled back to Earth, without getting the name of her crush. But later when she thought of him again, it brought a smile to her face. Princess Toffee hadn’t realized having a little crush on someone could feel so nice.
-Although Princess Toffee was at first angry over being sent to Earth, she grows to really enjoy her time on the alien planet. No one really pressures her or treats her negatively like the illegitimate, lowborn princess and sole heir to a kingdom she is. She’s fascinated by all the technology on Earth. She likes that there’s a system of public libraries open to everyone. She’s interested in learning the history and current status of their different ruling governments, from familiar monarchy to the more new democracy. She wants to see what she can use from Earth to improve her home planet. Earth is really the escape from Mewni she’s been wanting. She thinks if she could, she would choose to live here.
-When Ludo shows up with a new soldier, the Septarian monster Star, Princess Toffee finds him eccentric and very friendly, charming, even funny. She thinks he’s harmless.
-Princess Toffee learns that Star being eccentric and friendly doesn’t mean he can’t be dangerous, when she witnesses him grab Ludo--interrupting his typical rant viciously blaming his soldiers for another botched attempt to steal the wand--and throw the smaller monster into the void with dimensional scissors. Toffee believed Star was fed up with Ludo’s abusive behavior to his soldiers, since she herself had seen Ludo do it enough that it wasn’t unbelievable someone finally rebelled against him. She thought she could understand why the Septarian did it. But Princess Toffee was still kind of unnerved by how casually and easily Star tossed Ludo away into the void, with seemingly no hesitation or regret.
-Eventually Princess Toffee runs across Ludo in the wilderness of Mewni, and gradually the two form a strange friendship.
General Star, the Immortal Monster of Septarsis:
Tumblr media
-The Monster King was even more thrown by General Star going rogue, because he had always found him so friendly and pleasant. Very talkative, always willing to engage with his troops. All right, given how talkative and outgoing he was, General Star had also been the most vocal about how mewmans treated monsters and never really knew his place or when to keep quiet, but the Monster King had thought...well, the Monster King realized too late that maybe he should have listened to General Star’s grievances more, instead of dismissing them.
-Buff Frog/Yvgeny served under General Star, and he along with Rasticore were General Star’s most relied upon soldiers. Also, his friends.
-Star whole-heartedly considered Rasticore his bestie. And though Rasticore would never use the same term, he reciprocated the feeling, and would be willing to call the general his best friend.
-Getting past first appearances, Rasticore can actually be a goof off, willing to be humorous, be more casual, down to earth, prone to trying to cheer up his comrades when they felt down. (Also a bit clumsy still, despite training and battle experience--though still not as clumsy as he had been before all of that.) But when next to his general, Rasticore often looks normal and serious.
-General Star with a reputation for being extremely eccentric. Also friendly. He looks out for his comrades.
-General Star also has a reputation for being an extremely fierce soldier in battle.
-General Star’s natural impulsiveness and rash behavior has grown tempered with more strategic thinking and observation skills as he’s worked his way up to general. He’s not a perfect leader, and his natural rashness can still get the better of him. But he actually is a fairly good leader, both in how he works and treats those under his leadership.
-One of Star’s many hobbies seems to be casual matchmaking, he seems to take pleasure in encouraging and lightly teasing any romantic entanglements that crop up in his army. Despite this, no one in the army has ever witnessed any hint of the general himself harboring romantic feelings toward anyone.
-Yvgeny/Buff Frog is older than Star, and deep down, does regard the Septarian monster as if he were his own son. Star does reciprocate, seeing Yvgeny/Buff Frog as not just an older adviser, but also a parental figure.
-While General Star is largely cheerful, he is also normally visibly and vocally angry about Mewnipendance Day and what mewmans have done to his people, and continue to do.
-At times Star’s general friendliness can make others--like the Monster King--fail to appreciate the sincerity and depths of his hatred and aggression toward the mewman kingdom.
-General Star is genuinely friendly, kind, open, optimistic, etc. He’s just also 1000% ready to fight the mewman kingdom, which he hates for how they have hurt his people, and wants to stop them.
-More on General Star’s optimism: He believes that with monsters standing together, they can defeat their mewman oppressors and free themselves. He believes in personally maintaining joy, compassion, friendliness, etc. in his life. Feeling anger, despair, and darker emotions are fine, that’s part of feeling in general, it’s all right to feel hurt--but General Star does not want to become trapped in that, he doesn’t want to give up his appreciation and zest for life and others. Things suck for monsters, but General Star searches for the good things, and becomes even more protective of that because of how much life can absolutely suck for monsters. He’ll find and work to keep what joy he can get, and share that with others.
-If General Star had to pick a favorite weapon, he would select the mace.
-When the newly crowned Queen Moon came to confront him, Star never let Moon speak her mind. He immediately attacked her, seizing on the chance to fully end the direct Royal Butterfly line.
-Star had left his tent when he heard his troops laugh, brightly asked them what was going on, and mildly reminded them to keep him in the loop, given he was their leader. When he spotted Moon, he struck while she spoke, catching her off guard and fully intending to kill her. He didn’t even bother with the weapons he kept on his person, his favorite mace and dagger.
-More on General Star’s decision to kill Moon as quickly as possible when given the chance: 1) Star was fresh from the death of the mewman queen, the new one had just shown up in front of him not long after, he could end the direct Butterfly line right there. It would be critically key and appropriate for defeating the kingdom that oppressed his people and seeking revenge/justice, if he could end that line, that source of direct hereditary leadership among the enemy. 2) General Star believed the full context of the mewman-monster conflict had to be considered; the mewmans had invaded his people’s homeland, they had massacred so many of his people and had the gall to celebrate that, they continued to oppress them and make no effort to alleviate his people’s suffering or try to repair the damage they had caused--the situation was enough that the mewman ruling kingdom and their leaders were fair game as targets marked even for death, there was nothing to require that he spare them, he owed them nothing. 3) General Star felt he could read enough in his brief time with Moon directly, by what little of her nature and actions he could see, that she would be closed off like the majority of mewmans and not open to his people’s suffering or how her kingdom was directly responsible for that. He didn’t see her willing at all to look beyond her own mother’s death or the exclusive well-being of her kingdom at the larger picture that couldn’t be ignored, the fact that the status quo mewmans enjoyed had driven Star and his rebels to violent resistance when most other options had been exhausted. The “peace treaty” was a joke, nothing that would truly help monsters or make mewmans give up what they had taken from them. The thought of a useless treaty with invaders galled Star. The thought of them never fully acknowledging the extent of the wrong they did to his people galled him. And so, General Star tried to kill Moon.
-Chauncey had moved to defend his princess, but Star had grabbed the animal with his tail, while the rest of him quickly beat a surprised Moon down with a few hard and fast strikes.
-Moon had dropped her wand, and General Star quickly grabbed it in his claws.
-His troops had watched on with delight, and a heady rush of triumph and awe had pierced through the battlerage that had descended upon Star, he’d taken the royal wand pretty easily--though wait, there were...rumors, about what the wand could do to monsters that held it...but those were just--
-Then the wand acted strange, treacherous--it shifted into a shape that stared at him, painful veins ran up from where he held it to the rest of his arm, Star knew the wand spoke to him, tried to order him around, and wouldn’t let him open his claws to drop it. When he tried to fight back, the wand sometimes shifted into a shape that fittingly had a star, and wings--he never got a good look at it, as it swiftly switched back to the eye shape that spoke to his mind and stared at him. General Star, struggling madly and thoughts going wild, tried to claw at the hand trapped around the wand with his free hand--then he pulled it close and tried to bite at it--
-Buff Frog came from behind and struck, and that external help was enough to make General Star let go of the wand and stumble back into his adviser's arms, weakened by the fight with the wand.
-(*The ending of “Lobster Claws” will stick in my mind forever. That wand looked alive and like it wanted to possess its bearer for a moment. Still think the wand is hiding something sentient and malevolent, and it built up some kind of level of anti-monster defenses after being used against them for so long by mewmans.)
-Moon took her chance, after watching in shock, and after General Star had dropped Chauncey--her attacker was sufficiently distracted--Moon took up the wand, and shaken by how harshly and quickly General Star had taken her down, Moon fires Eclipsa’s spell without thinking to choose a specific target on his body to aim for, forgetting even the possibility of avoiding Eclipsa’s freedom while getting what she wanted. Or to even think to aim only at the Septarian, and not Buff Frog who hovered worriedly over him.
-Though out of it, General Star at least notices Moon’s attack, and immediately shoves Buff Frog out of the way, but as for himself--
-Rasticore moves forward and grabs his general’s arm, tries to yank him out of the way. Rasticore partially succeeds, enough that Moon’s spell only strikes General Star’s eye and the area of flesh around it, rather than a direct hit to his head.
-(A lot of the above is happening very fast, faster than the amount of words used to describe it.)
-Star’s eye doesn’t regenerate as expected, and while his army initially grows confused and disturbed, and Moon begins to feel some victory and lower her guard, Star takes maybe a few seconds to basically acknowledge, “well, that’s a thing,” look at Moon and notice the dark marks on her arms, and then just immediately attacks her again, pulling out his dagger. Star slices the hand holding her wand off, right about at the border where dark marks meet bare skin, thinking he still needs to separate her from the wand--especially now--and trying to figure out what is up with those marks...
-Their general’s continued battlerage and determination to fight lights a spark among his troops, and they all join him in combat. If they could strike hard and fast like the general, if they could support him, if they stuck together, they may have a chance still. They were all angry at the mewmans oppressing them, they had a right to be angry over what the mewmans had done; they had come this far, they had killed a queen, they could not back down now.
-Moon saved from being mobbed by General Star and his army when the Magic High Commission and other mewman forces finally come to back her up.
-General Star has ignited a huge fight outside of Butterfly castle between his rebel monster army and the ruling mewman kingdom.
-General Star keeps a death grip on Moon’s severed hand with his tail, he’s keeping that, he needs to figure out what the hell she did, what is up with those marks...
-The fight ends up going badly for General Star and his forces, becoming a massacre, once an even more pressured and maimed Moon truly snaps and fully unleashes a wider strike of Eclipsa’s spell in a fit of desperation and rage. Her blast wipes out most of the monster army. Rasticore loses an eye and an arm.
-Snapping out of his own battlerage and realizing the day was lost, and he had to protect what was left and regroup for another attempt, General Star calls for a retreat. Buff Frog drags Rasticore away. Others do the same with their few remaining and injured comrades. Star viciously taunts Moon, even with her mother’s death, to goad her and her forces into focusing on him and distracting her from his surviving troops.
-General Star and his surviving troops manage to escape the battle with Moon. They do regroup. They eventually manage to recruit a few more monsters, but never fully make up in terms of numbers for what they lost. Nothing ever makes up for the emotional cost.
-General Star and Rasticore confirm that except for where Moon hit them with the spell directly, they can still regenerate every other part of themselves.
-Queen Moon gains a mechanical prosthetic for her missing forearm, that she keeps hidden along with the dark spell marks on her remaining arm, with long gloves she wears.
-When thinking of Moon after the battle that permanently took his eye and slaughtered so many of his original troops and also maimed Rasticore, General Star’s thoughts are clouded with thoughts of revenge, wanting to make her pay for the monsters she slaughtered. Revenge has always been one of the motives that drive General Star, but now Moon is among those he wants a very personal revenge against. When he tried to kill her the first time, of course there was revenge then--but it was a general revenge against what she represented, and also a desire to end the direct royal Butterfly line, especially since he had recently eliminated the queen before that.
-But Princess Toffee gives General Star pause, when she’s first born. When planning attacks on Moon, General Star does consider what he’d do with the newborn heir should he successfully kill her mother, and thinks he would spare her, and keep her close. General Star has a weakness and fondness for babies; he realizes that applies even to mewman ones. And he thinks it would be okay when the new princess grew up, because General Star would have taught her the right things, the bare minimum being, “don’t grow up into an invading conqueror and cruel and-slash-or apathetic racist like your ancestors.”
-General Star covers up his magically maimed face with an eyepatch. He jokes with Rasticore that they’re “eyepatch besties” now, and is pleased when Rasticore grins back. Star gushes over his friend’s mechanical arm, and always makes sure it’s in working order.
-General Star continues to fight Moon, engaging in quite a few battles with her. During one of these fights, Star loses track of Rasticore in the chaos of battle. When he continues to fail to find him in the aftermath, Star reluctantly and bitterly concludes he’s dead too. Star grows more vengeful toward Moon.
(-General Star and the rest of the monster rebels don’t realize Rasticore was taken alive by Miss Heinous, and brainwashed into serving her, an extension of her brainwashing efforts with princesses and her guard dogs.)
-After the last fight they will have for a very long time, General Star grows suspicious of why Moon has him banished and imprisoned, rather than execute him, after everything he’s done. He’s aware she can do it easily with whatever anti-regeneration spell she had. But she hasn’t even used it since that first disastrous battle, and that makes him suspicious too. Though General Star had kept the queen’s severed and dark-marked arm preserved and stashed away somewhere hidden, he had not managed to learn much from it. Nor had he managed to find much information on why the wand had gone berserk and mind-controlling when he held it in his claws. The only thing General Star could ever think was that the wand really hated monsters, whose shit It constantly wrecked.
-General Star is imprisoned for the bulk of Princess Toffee’s life, until she turns 14 and inherits the wand. At that point Buff Frog--who came to work for the Avarius family and then Ludo after Star had been captured and the rebel army fully dissolved without their leader--learned Star was actually still alive and where he was being held. (Moon had it publicly reported that General Star had been executed, and also tried to ban talk of him and erase proof of his existence.)
-General Star almost withdraws from making connections to other people after what he lost, to avoid inviting more personal pain--but he manages to still connect to others, to still be willing to care and risk the pain that may invite. He also manages to maintain his optimism.
-Buff Frog frees General Star, happily reunites with him and helps him physically recover from prison, and gets him a job with Ludo’s small army.
-At first a recovering Star is content to work with Buff Frog under Ludo, whom Star at first assumes is a new monster rebel joining the fight against the Butterfly kingdom. Star still an emotional person, and after everything, his confidence in his ability to lead isn’t that great. He’s willing to go back to being a follower for now (he had worked his way up to the rank of general before, which had required following someone else’s orders for a time).
-But after watching Ludo’s mistreatment of his troops, Star gets fed up, grabs Ludo’s dimensional scissors, and throws the smaller monster into the void.
-Up to this point, Ludo’s army had largely grown very fond of the friendly ex-general--but with the way Star very easily banishes Ludo, they’re freaked out by him for the first time. Even Buff Frog is concerned.
-But eventually things work out with the group and General Star takes over, with Buff Frog remaining at his side. General Star resumes his research into the wand and mewman magic...
-When Buff Frog adopts the tadpole monster babies, General Star happily babysits for him whenever he needs it. General Star adores the tadpoles.
-General Star still hesitates with Princess Toffee, when he finds that she hesitates. He feels that he can read something actually more open with the new princess, more open than her mother. General Star tries to act less rashly with this princess, and take more time to observe and evaluate her. When he tries to learn more about what he missed while in prison, including gathering more intel on the new heir, he catches gossip of the details of what the kingdom considered her lowborn and illegitimate birth, and the generally negative response to that. It adds to the disdain General Star has built up for mewmans in general after a lifetime of being oppressed by them; they’re just so cruel. General Star also realizes this could partly explain why Princess Toffee seems more open to his people’s plight and seem more estranged from the mewman kingdom--and it’s something he can try to use.
-Turning Princess Toffee against the Butterfly Kingdom could be really ideal.
-One of General Star’s super dark secrets: He’s part Mewman. His parents were a monster and half-monster; his half-monster parent was Eclipsa’s child. Yes, General Star can call Eclipsa, “Grandma.”
-Then what’s the approximate age of General Star? To be honest, I’m not certain about that in brainstorming right now. (”But even if he’s Eclipsa’s /grandchild/, he must be--” I will forever see time travel/being sent centuries forward in time as totally a possibility in this bizarre fantasy world. Also, there may be other AU things I could do with this.)
And that is it, that’s all I have for now. Thanks so much for reading!

This started as a small list of headcanons about Aesatel and her connections to some of the factions and major questlines in TES V, but gosh did it snowball out of control once I got started. Not a bad thing though, as I’ve been meaning to do a post just like this since adding her to the blog. This isn’t the be all & end all of how I’ll write Aesatel in threads and what can happen in her threads. It’s just the outline I follow to keep track of what events happen to her and when during her overall story, and these posts aren’t even that in-depth with the when, where, and who with I’ve kept about all the shenanigans she gets up to in a separate document.
Shortly after discovering her identity as a Dragonborn Aesatel travels north to Winterhold to enroll at the local mage’s college, seeking to expand on her mostly self-taught magical talent. While there she discovers the Eye of Magnus and subsequently the Staff of Magnus, using the latter to keep the Thalmor agent Ancano from utilizing the Eye’s destructive powers.
Her studies focused on spells that would prove useful in battle with a heavy emphasis on Conjuration and Destruction magic. Her Destruction spells include Expert-level fire and lightning spells. Her Conjuration spells include summoning Atronachs, Dremora Lords, and creating various Thralls (including the unique instance of making Thralls of two Dremora Lords, because you can pry the image of Aesatel flanked by two permanent badass daedra from my cold, dead hands).
Aesatel meets Erandur in Dawnstar and the two grow close after helping him rid Nightcaller Temple of Vaermina’s influence. They adventure together for half a year before getting married and move into Proudspire Manor together. (This obviously changes in threads where shipping could occur.)
During their travels she investigates rumors about a young orphan living in Windhelm on a whim. Having lived in Riften for some time in the past she knows of Grelod and the extent of her cruel behavior to the children living in Honorhall Orphanage. So if an unfortunate accident were to befall the old woman the next time she’s in Riften, well there won’t be much sympathy from her.
This leads to her being “contacted” by Astrid later down the line and her joining the Dark Brotherhood, and ultimately to the fall and subsequent revival of the Brotherhood following the assassination of Emperor Titus Mede II. No one outside of the Brotherhood except those closest to her (namely Erandur & Ralyanis) knows of her affiliation with them, which she intends to keep that way.
It isn’t until just after Aesatel joins the Brotherhood that the main questline of the game gets underway, with her meeting Delphine in Riverwood to fetch the horn of Jurgen Windcaller. Aesatel isn’t fond of Delphine. When the time comes to consider whether or not to help the Blades - when it’s demanded of her that she kill Paarthurnax - she refuses. Any further attempts by Delphine or Esbern to bring her to their cause, with or without the requirement of slaying the ancient dragon, fall on deaf ears.
She does, however, accept that they should be present during the ceasefire of Season Unending.
They also serve as inspiration for her eventually forming her own personal Dragonguard, who include various close friends she’s made in her travels; Ralyanis Elric the Snow Elf archer, Tomoichi Sato a half-Altmer man who has familial ties to the Blades, her husband Erandur, and Ja’irzu a kind yet imposing Pahmar Khajiit just to name a few.
While looking for the Dragon Elder Scroll Aesatel meets Septimus Signus, and although she doesn’t have to she decides to help him with unlocking the strange Dwemer cube in the ice flows of Winterhold. She would come to regret that mistake as this put her in the sights of Hermaeus Mora, a big tentacled thorn in her side.
By the time she learns the Dragonrend shout and faces off against Alduin Aesatel has spent a year honing her skills. In that time dragons have ravaged the province ruthlessly, she’s had to put up with feuding armies and pesky Daedric Princes, and has had an all around Not Good Time. So she’s understandably pissed when Alduin runs away like a little bitch after getting his ass handed to him.
She’s less pissed when she traps meets Odahviing and they become buds pretty quickly. Also Odahviing totally has room for a couple more riders so at the very least Ralyanis is able to go to Skuldafn/Sovngarde with her, because I say so.
There’s an actual celebration held when she returns to Whiterun and announces that Alduin has been defeated.
Not long after defeating Alduin she returns to the Dark Brotherhood - who by now have been culled to include only herself, Nazir, Babette, and Cicero - and the plan to assassinate the Emperor enters its final stages. Commander Maro is slain on the Solitude Docks and Aesatel slips aboard the Katariah like a shadow. But when she comes face to face with the Emperor she is surprised to see a man ready to die. They converse, almost like new friends, and she reveals herself to him as the Dragonborn. And she vows to him that though she will take his life in turn she’ll join the Imperial Legion and do what she can to win the war, to keep the Empire from crumbling.
It’s at this point that she decides to take a break from adventuring. Just for a bit.
Because eventually trouble does come knocking and force her to take action again. While in the Rift visiting her mother news of a vampire attack in a nearby town reaches her, and she meets a member of the Dawnguard when she goes to investigate. She decides to check out their fortress even though she’s a bit hesitant to outright join the vampire hunters, but she does agree to check out Dimhollow Crypt for them, leading her to meet Serana.
She really likes Serana.
While she does side with the Dawnguard in the questline she never really considers herself part of the group, only returning to the fort when absolutely necessary.
For the majority of her time during the quest Aesatel travels exclusively with Serana where needed, only choosing to invite Ralyanis along when she learns of Auriel’s Bow, a Snow Elven artifact that would of course be very intriguing to a Snow Elven archer.
It’s worth noting that by the time the final showdown with Harkon draws near a small town has been created northeast of Rorikstead called Snow Haven, a refuge for the Snow Elves who were living at the Temple of Syrabane that wanted to live in Skyrim proper once more. While not traveling with Aesatel Ralyanis spends most of her time here with her people.
After defeating Harkon there’s a much bigger break between adventures for Aesatel. At this point she’s considering retirement, or at least saving journeys into the wilds of Skyrim or other Tamrielic provinces for high priority situations. But when mercenaries from Solstheim, an island she barely recognized from old history lessons, decide to ambush her in the name of the “real” Dragonborn well... That’s when she has to defend her honor.
I’m actually very open about the outcome of the Dragonborn questline. Aesatel feels sympathetic with Miraak after learning a bit about him, even if she won’t excuse some of his more questionable behavior. There’s also the matter of Hermaeus Mora being involved. Who, if you’ve read the note about helping Septimus Signus earlier, you’ll know she really hates. More than Miraak, more than Harkon and Vyrthur, more than Alduin even. So any course of action that culminates in a big middle finger to the Daedric Prince of Knowledge is A-Okay to her.

HOW COULD THEY KILL HER OFF LIKE THAT !!!! Her endcard was beautiful:(
I KNOW.
I was expecting her to at least last until some other bigwig demons appearing near azazel and they all have reminisce over the day cocytus fell or something, certainly not this fast nor this brutal.
some headcanon for Belphegor/Azazel:
they’re both like thousands years old, but Bel’s still older than Azazel
considering most of high ranking demons are older than azazel, and his own fallen friend arakiba from the same generation also older than him, this fact doesn’t stand out.
what stands out is the fact that Bel is the one who teaches Azazel the art of knife fighting.
like most angels not specialized in fighting, Azazel used to carry a staff (similar to the one he carries in genesis ep8 except maybe in gold/silver/bright color instead of dark).
since as an angel he’s technically just a glorified bookkeeper (albeit one w/ lots of powers), he has a hard time adjusting to demons’ way of life which mostly consists of fighting and more fighting and not much in the way of books or musics.
Cerberus gets tasked by Lucifer to help him adjust since other fallen angels are unavailable at the time, but all she does is laugh at him, points, and laughs some more.
arakiba is bigger and much better fighter and has this awesome lightning powers, so he adapts much faster and already makes headway, but azazel refrains from asking his help bcs his pride won’t allow it. also, arakiba’s a worrywart.
then one day while he’s being bothered by some low ranking but like giants demons, the weapon he uses gets thrown away, and then comes this slender lady who beat those giants and returns his thrown weapon (a long sword).
“Azazel-sama,” the lady says, “are you hurt?” and mostly he just looks at her kind face and resents it a little since it sounds like she’s mocking him.
“why are you calling me with -sama honorific? I’m just some fallen nobody.”
the lady looks a bit lost, like she’s confused, like she’s afraid she has somehow offends him. “But you’re not nobody. You’re Lucifer-sama’s disciple, are you not?”
he blinks. ‘disciple’ is stretching it. that’s not what he is to Lucifer; Lucifer has something that he wants from him, which is why he pays him some attention. Once he gets what he wants, Lucifer would probably stop. he sighs. “are you calling every fallen angel with -sama honorific?” come to think of it, he never hears Arakiba being called arakiba-sama by anybody.
Now she looks worried. “…No?”
“then maybe you should drop the honorific and just call me ‘azazel’ like every body else.” he tells her.
she looks even more worried. “I cannot be that presumptuous to call you by just your name, Azazel-sama.” then she looks around them; at the ruin, at the cramped room they’re in - or what’s left of it - like she’s seeking a distraction. “Speaking of, if I may be so forward, perhaps in such indoor room like this it’s better to use short, close-range weapon. A blade like the one Azazel-sama uses, while carries more power, would be ineffective if it couldn’t reach its intended range.” then she hesitates. and turns back to him, with an almost shy look in her eyes. “If you don’t mind, I could, perhaps, show you how to wield a knife in a fight against hard shell opponents like the orcs before?”
he stares at her. “huh.” he says. “did Cerberus send you?” bcs honestly it wouldn’t be the first time the demon girl has tried to make a joke out of him.
the lady blinks. “No? Um, should I ask for her permission?”
he makes a face. “Stop making her sound like my babysitter.” he sighs. looks at the double knifes she carries in her hand. stares. “hey, if you teach me knife fighting, does that mean you’ll stop calling me azazel-sama? since it means you’re my mentor, and no mentor call their own disciple with such title right?”
she looks deeply, deeply, *deeply* troubled, and doesn’t say anything for so long that he takes pity on her and gives up. “Okay.”
she blinks. “um.”
“Okay, I accept your offer.” he clarifies. “We could meet here tomorrow afternoon, if you have time?”
“Of course. It is no trouble at all, Azazel-sama.” she smiles kindly at him.
huh. wait. “hey, what’s your name?”
“It’s Belphegor, Azazel-sama.” she’s still smiling at him kindly, so very kindly, he wants to look away bcs he doesn’t deserve this kind smile.
“Belphegor.” he repeats just to make sure he gets it right.
her eyes widen slightly, and she looks down, and there’s this shade to her cheeks, something that Cerberus would insist is a blush while he’s pretty sure it’s some kind of sunburn.
even though it’s night time and there’s no sun in sight.
also azazel tries to keep the fact Bel’s teaching her a secret, but Cerberus finds out and since then makes sure to attend every practice session just to laugh at him.
for some reason Bel still believes he’s Lucifer’s disciple like why even.
he used to be a bookkeeper, so it makes sense for Lucifer to have him organize his book records as well as his library and pretty much everything that has to do with written instruction/tools.
If somewhere along the line Lucifer also starts making him do errands like instructing/giving orders to other fallens and demons, it’s probably only bcs he’s conveniently always near organizing books, not for anything else.
The guy’s a shut-in for god’s sake, so he’s only using Azazel bcs he can’t be bothered to meet other ppl himself.
so it’s only bcs he’s convenient, and not bcs Lucifer trusts him more than anyone.
He tries to explain this to Bel, but she just silently listens and smiles gently.
“but you know,” says arakiba, who often joins them whenever he’s free and within Lucifer’s place vicinity (which is unfortunately not that often), “Cerberus and Mirin both often have audiences with Lucifer-sama, but you’re the one he keeps giving orders to. And it’s not bcs you’re a fallen either; after all, Mirin is a fallen angel like us.”
azazel blinks.
“I understand Azazel-sama is a very humble person–” Bel starts to say.
Cerberus snorts.
Azazel could feel a headache coming his way. “No, really, belphegor. I don’t know who this humble demon person named azazel in your head is, but I can assure you that person is not me.”
“If you say so, Azazel-sama.” Bel smiles.
Azazel stares at her. how did it come to this srsly.
“Just accept it, brat.” Cerberus says. He may be taller and looks more like an adult appearance wise, but she’s at least 3000 years older and she likes to remind him of this fact. “You’re officially Lucy’s right hand man now~”
“Lucifer-sama.” he automatically corrects her. “Also, I’m no such thing.”
Arakiba puts a hand on his shoulder. “The sooner you accept the fact, the easier it would be. Don’t run away, Azazel.”
Azazel stares at him. “You maybe think you sound wise, but honestly you just sound ridiculous. As your friend, I’m embarrassed for you.”
“This is why demons think you’re a coward~” Cerberus says. “You’re already doing the responsibilities of a right hand man of the Leader of the Fallen Angels Army anyway. Just accept the official title and move on.”
he narrows his eyes. “wtf why do I feel like I’ve been manipulated into this position?”
“That’s bcs you *are.*” Cerberus singsongs cheerfully. “You should take it up with Lucy. He’s the mastermind.”
as if.
he looks at Arakiba, but Arakiba just shrugs. Then he looks at Bel, and what he sees in her eyes makes him want to run away bcs he’s not that person, the great and polite person in Bel’s mind.
But he wants to, he thinks. He wants to be the person he sees in Bel’s mind. If he’s an embarrassment to the Heaven from whence he was born, then at least he could try to make something for himself in Hell. Or Cocytus. Whichever.
He sighs. “Don’t say I never warn you.”
Bel, Cerberus, and Arakiba just smile.

Loki x Sigyn
Love Never Dies | Part XI
Rating: G
Words: 2.572
Summay: Complications arise with Sigyn’s recovery, as Loki deliberates whether he made the right choice.
Notes: i hope you enjoy my headcanons for sigyn!
Sigyn had been proud to call herself a healer of her realm -- her people, the Southern peoples of Nashtar, had been pioneers in the delicate art of healing; innovators out of both love and desperation that they might help their people who were dying from the lengthy bouts f war that once ravaged their realm. Her people had been masters of the earth: tilling it to tameness to grow from it herbs to be milled and used in tinctures, compresses, and other methods, honouring every part of a slaughtered animal by using the bones and the fibres of their sacrifice in the intricacies of recipes called for everything from sutures to soups. Such practises were passed from generation to long generation -- where Sigyn learnt everything she knew from her mother, and her mother before her. Many lives she had saved, many bodies of her people she had guarded and looked after of those who were not as fortunate -- and still, she never gave up the flint, the spark, the desire to aide. When the call came to shield, to protect, to love, to care, she had always taken up the chore and fulfilled it to its bitter end.
But as Loki looked on her, as she lay in his bed, hardly alive though she had been revived by all his efforts, and by all the numerous lives he’d taken -- all he wanted was her. Not the protector, not the carer -- for too long she had cared for others, as healer, then as Queen, then as his own. It was his turn now, to take care of her. And all he felt was a failure rotting in the pit of his stomach that perhaps, once more, he would break his vow as his bodyguard and watch her die before him again. He could not let that happen -- as he told his mother, he did not believe he would survive it a second time. He’d barely survived the first.
His mother had been gracious enough to have the staff prepare him a large bowl of bone broth -- different than the kind he’d asked for the first time, different than the kind he’d been giving her, that had come from a beef bone, it had made no difference upon her health. Thus, he’d asked for the leg bone of a deer, the closest thing he could grasp to her own peoples’ recipe. Until then, all he could do was his best -- and keep his head.
Loki sat beside the bed, beside his wife, in a chair, a black leather bag sitting by his feet -- it was quaintly ornamented with beads and weaving, it had come from her home-realm. One of three bags he’d kept hidden in his suite, each one containing personal items: clothes, jewellry, toilet things, notebooks, things to read, things to write, and this one in particular contained some of her own medical supplies. A twitched grin passed his lips as he thought on how insistent she’d always been to always bring them with them everywhere they went, especially on a mission to a foreign realm -- having once been a healer, she always would be; therefore, her foresight would thus aide in healing her.
His pale hand reached for the bag, rifling through it gently, pulling out each item and setting it on the night table beside her: forceps, blades, other medical tools; anti-biotic tinctures in coloured glass bottles; draughts and potions; gauze and gloves and bandages -- an overabundant amount of those; and yet he began to fret when he did not find what it was for which he searched. Brows furrowed as his limber fingers picked apart each layer until they came upon a metal box at the bottom of the bag: there it was, he hoped. He pushed all the remaining items back into the bag, save for a roll of bandages, and placed the metal box on the night table. His hands graced over it for a moment or two -- his eyes shadowing the floral and vine designs, half expecting them to wrap round his fingers in an effort to calm him, just as the living vines on Nashtar did. He had never handled this box before, neither had he wanted to, for if he ever had reason, it would mean things had gone terribly awry. And as he looked to his wife again, he came to accept the fact that...they had.
On her dress, there was a spot of blackened blood -- the colour not entirely alarming, as it was her kind’s natural sanguine colour -- but the fact that her wound was bleeding at all, instead of healing. He had begun to wonder if he had cursed her to a fate worse than death, and whether the price of his selfishness had not been the deaths of the Midgardians, or the hellish imprisonment he’d spent both at the hands of Odin and Thanos, but his punishment for his hubris had been to watch her suffer.
‘We are not gods’ -- the words of his father ringing in his ears, echoing in the chamber of his skull, it was everything in him to close his eyes tight and shake his head in an attempt to rid himself of the man’s supposed wisdom. If they were not gods, why had they been granted such power! If they were not gods why had they the rule of the realms! If they were not gods...
They were not gods.
But he had tried to play at it, tried so hard to clutch the notion within his burdened hands that he burned himself -- he had tried to play god, by bringing back his wife, but there was no redemption in her current state. And this was not humility, this was regret -- a venomous taste at the tip of his tongue, he refused to believe she must die twice.
Loki threw open the metal box, revealing inside several layers of a thin, wet substance cut into rectangles. His hands hovered above them for a moment, having never seen nor dealt with them for all his years on the Forest Realm -- but he had heard his wife say what they did, how to use them; he even had several sheets inside himself, holding together his battered organs from the numerous tortures he’d once endured. And if it had been good enough for him, teetering the brink of death, surely, it could save her.
He turned back to Sigyn, as he placed a pair of gloves on his hands, and opened her night dress to reveal the center of her chest, where the gunshot wound refused to heal. He assessed it, seeing it was not bleeding excessively, neither was it infected or even scarring -- it was simply stagnant. As though it, and she, had been locked in time. His thoughts wandered to the stasis in which he’d held her -- the spell he pout over her the moment she breathed her last to keep from losing her completely, already forming a plot to bring her back as she died in his arms. Had it some reaction of which he’d been unaware? Did it take time to wear off completely? She had been frozen for some long while, perhaps the longer one was stayed, the loner it took to recover. Nonetheless, he put such doubts from his mind, and took a singular sheet from the metal box, adhering it to Sigyn’s skin; his gloved fingers pressing the excess around her wound to keep it from moving, he then placed a bandage over it. Whatever ailed her, surely this would cure her.
A fibre from the Nashtari deer, it had the ability to mesh with the wound, to heal it from the inside out, and to keep it from being wounded ever again. R’Ronra, they called it: ‘the armour inside’. It was the only thing that kept him alive from the stabbings and bullets he’d survived over the years since. And he prayed, to whomever might’ve been listening, that it would keep her well and safe.
Sigyn began to wake at the feeling of something cold at her chest, her dark eyes opening to a blurry image around her -- where she could make out the figure of Loki at her side, fidgeting over something on the night table. She blinked, rapidly, trying to clear her vision, where the image around her became more in focus: she was lying in his bed still, her night gown halfway open, where he sat next to her, going through her medical bag. Something had happened -- and the sharp pain that pierced her heart gave her the immediate answer for which she wondered. But she did not cry out, she had not the energy, instead, she turned her head to see him, and grimaced a smile to him. “You could have just asked,” her raspy voice broke the thick silence.
He started, not knowing her awake, having been lost in his own thoughts -- but his irritation was suddenly replaced with joy when he saw her, his face illuminating the room as he pushed everything aside to take her hands instead. “Sigyn!” he exclaimed in a whisper, then frowned. “I don’t...I don’t understand.”
Her smiled widened as she struggled to close her night gown, “You could have asked for a look,” she teased him -- knowing full well what he had been doing instead, having seen the supplies on the table.
He only chuckled with a breath and put his head down, the tension in him only somewhat released as her humour reassured him of her presence both in body and mind.
“Is it that bad?” she asked, refusing to let go of his hand.
He looked up at her again, all at once unsure what to say -- his first instinct to lie, but in this instance, he thought it might be more a mercy. “You’ve certainly had worse,” he pained a grin and placed his other hand to her face.
“Then it is that bad,” she smiled.
“It is not,” he persisted.
“You lie,” she whispered, yet her smile did not cease.
“And how is it you know?” he combed his fingers through her hair, hoping to keep her calm enough to heal, hoping in some way to wordlessly ask forgiveness.
She said nothing for a little while, her smile dampening only a little before her paled and chapped lips opened to speak: “You said the same thing to our son.”
Whatever wound she had through her heart, he felt, in that moment, he had one that mirrored it. He took in a quiet, trembled breath as he wet his lips. “You will be well,” he said, as if to convince himself more than anything or anyone else.
She knew his efforts of self persuasion, she could see them written all about his features -- she knew them well, cherished them, kept them in her heart, and yet still she doubted the reality of her condition: “We do not know if I will heal --”
“Then I will make it so!” he snapped in a quiet breath, but not at her, not at any one in particular -- simply at circumstance. At himself, perhaps.
Sigyn stayed quiet, but did not let go of his hand, entwining her fingers further into his, stroking her thumb against his knuckles -- even more worn and rough than when they were last together, though she knew not how long that had been. It must have been some while, if she only had the degradation of not only his skin but his heart as a timepiece. Loki did not do well alone, this was established, but she saw it even more plainly as he sat before her, seemingly a shell of himself. Thus, the power she held over him was immense, but she had never used it against him, nor spoke ill of him for it. It frightened her, sometimes, what he was willing to do for her, that she dared not think on the cost at which her revival had come, not now.
“Do you remember...” she started, taking a wheezed breath in, “when you first came to me?”
Loki looked up, from having his face down upon the bed, and nodded once. “I do. You saved me. When I was put before you, at your throne, you could have done anything you wished -- but you set me free. You let me go, healed me, made me one of your own people. A debt I will never be able to repay.”
“I never wanted...repayment,” she shook her head as it leaned on the pillow. “I wanted you...to be happy.”
“I was only happy when I was with you, my Queen,” he answered, truthfully.
“You were...dying. At my feet. Yet you...came to life again,” she forced herself to speak, disregarding the pain in favour of her meaning.
He had half the mind to stop her, but she held a up hand first, knowing his impending intent. Nonetheless, he sighed. “That was different -- an entirely different scenario.”
She held up a finger again. “Do you know...how much...we have been through?” she asked, hearing a rumble in the back of her voice. “Several years after...when you were my bodyguard...you saved my life as well. You went to -- battle with me. More than once,” she took a laboured breath, swallowing dryly with a smile. “We have both...survived much. You and I. We will...again.”
Tears threatened the edge of Loki’s eyes, and when he put his head down again, they pooled into his lap. He did not let go of her hand, both of his gripping onto hers with a tender strength that pleaded with her soul without even the exchange of a glance not to leave him, not to abandon him, to stay.
He knew what she spoke was the truth. Much they had survived: battles, venom, cutting words deeper than blades from others, and perhaps...from each other every so often; the deaths of their children, the burden of rule, of obligation in spite of everything else. Yet still, they somehow persisted, together. Always together, and that had been they key -- because without her, he would not have survived.
Loki took in a breath, hearing the footsteps of someone down the hall bringing the bone broth he had requested, and he stood, reluctantly letting go of her hand to make himself presentable enough to fetch the tray.
Sigyn only watched him, silently, catching a glimpse beyond the bed curtain that hid her, the bright daylight this time not as bright, the boots along the floor this time not as loud. She gave him a happy, if not tired, smile when he returned, and watched as he pushed everything away to clear a space on the night table for the bowl of broth.
He dipped the spoon into the bowl, taking a test of it -- it tasted somewhat similar to that of the Nashtari broth, thus, it was acceptable, at least -- and with a nod, he took another spoonful. “Until then,” he said as he blew on it, “it shall be my honour and my privilege to care for you.”
“Thank you, my love,” she nodded her head, and reached up as he fed her.
She would be well, he told himself. She had to be.

Valencia and Dahlia -- v; a jedi or a prince
I just wrote up a post of bios for two of my NPCs. As I stated in that post, Valencia and Dahlia were originally created for my Star Wars crossover verse. Their personalities and origins are pretty much the same, but because they will be different in the Jedi verse, I decided to toss out a list of headcanons for each of them just to give them a genuine feel and aesthetic for the Jedi verse.
You can read these lists below the cut! ^^
VALENCIA AROSDOTTIR
• Twin to Dahlia; born first • Slightly older than Loki, Thor, and Kjartan • Because of her parentage, she was deemed extremely important to the future of Asgard and sent on a voyage to protect her from the events of a devastating war raging through Asgard. She was sent with a small group of young Aesir—the two princes included—and ultimately landed themselves on the radar of the Jedi • Extremely gifted with magic (tends to lean more towards healing, creation, and basic forms of self-defense) • As Valencia’s abilities suggest, she becomes a gentle and compassionate soul. She isn’t afraid of violence. Its importance is very real and she is a dangerous opponent to face off against, but she looks for peace long before she will ever turn to using her abilities for anything other than the aid of others • Has purple saber • Gets along well with Loki. Is rather protective over him. Probably gets along well with Fandral and Kjartan as well, but doesn’t care much for Thor • Doesn’t deviate much from the Jedi Code • Isn’t as curious about their true heritage as some of the other Aesir children • Dresses like a typical Jedi, though she often rejects neutral colors for colors that are a bit softer, like pastels or deeper, bold colors. Like her saber suggests, purple is her favorite color to wear. She enjoys pretty accessories—especially for her hair—but often neglects those sorts of desires for practicality’s sake • Wears her hair to the middle of her back, often in a ponytail or a braid of some sort • Takes care to help train the younger Aesir Jedi who haven’t really grown out of their padawan stage • Becomes Kjartan’s mentor once she becomes a Jedi, but aids in Loki’s training as well as Thor’s, and any other padawans who come to her seeking help. She loves children and she loves mentoring younglings • Very charismatic and friendly. Makes new friends and allies easily, though she’s not much of a politician. As a matter of fact, she hates politics and would make an absolutely rubbish negotiator or representative • Excellent with meditation and meditates far more than most of the other Aesir children • Writes a lot, both in a sort of journal in order to catalog her thoughts and observations as well as fictional stories • Observant and discrete. Useful for collecting important data. • Respectful of authority and peers • Rarely grows angry but will abuse the “I’m disappointed in you” speech and gaze until she’s blue in the face • Enjoys gardening and often uses her abilities to grow and maintain plants that she enjoys as well as plants that can be used to make medicine from • Spends a lot of time outside
DAHLIA AROSDOTTIR
• Twin to Valencia; born second • Slightly older than Loki, Thor, and Kjartan • Sent on the same voyage as her sister to protect her from the war • Extremely gifted with magic (leans more towards aggressive forms of combat that make her a fierce but frightening warrior) • Dahlia, contrary to the soft sound of her name, is very aggressive. She’s quick to anger and quick to violence, so much so that she often comes off as too much for other Jedi. She gets along well with Thor (and probably Anakin) because they share the same hotheaded sort of mentality that leads her to act first and think later • Has 2 blue sabers, though the blades of her sabers are darker than most blue sabers. Wields both at once or sometimes converts them into a saber-staff • Shows little interest in the way of training padawans, even those who are Aesir. Excels in combat training, but has little desire to take up her own padawan • Takes a special interest in Thor because their personalities are so complimentary. She’s a bit calmer than Thor, though. While she can be hotheaded, she’s able to keep her anger and judgment at bay if she really tries • One of the few people who can actually deal with Thor and wrangle in his loose-canon-like mentality • Eventually becomes Thor’s master, as she is the only one suited to deal with teaching him (could potentially turn to the Dark Side before Thor, giving Thor another reason to fall—so he can join his master). Despite her desire to remain Padawan-less, she knows she’s probably the only one who can handle Thor, so she takes him on • While she isn’t quite as aggressive as Thor, she’s rather used to the idea that she’s “the evil twin”. People joke with her constantly about it but she is actually very close with her sister. On top of being twins, they are interwoven through the Force (making the possibility of Dahlia falling even more tragic) • Deviates from what normal Jedi would wear in favor of what she believes to be more representative of traditional Asgardian wear. Likes dark colors with pops of gold or red and has a very edgy style. Doesn’t much care for accessories or pretty things, but she does love body art • Has several visible tattoos along her neck, shoulders, and arms • Keeps her hair short so it’s never in the way during combat practice or actual battle. • Isn’t very artistically inclined but she can draw something pretty decently if she has a model to go off of and stare at for hours on end • She also has a very pretty singing voice but good luck getting her to sing • Meditation is next to impossible for her

Svanhvít “Hvít" Ozerov
General Information
Age: 40? (He’s ridiculously pretty though.)
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Birthday: January 4
Title: Swan King (Hvít says his title with a completely straight face and Gemma takes forever to stop laughing hysterically. Every. Single. Time.)
(She once managed to keep it up for 3 hours with periodic 2 minutes break in which they would sit in complete silence until Hvít did it again but with a different intonation.)
(At least it proves the theory that Gemma is mostly all air.)
Class: Troubadour
Secondary Class: Mercenary (He can’t swing a double-edged sword to save his life.)
Weapon: A gnarled staff that seems to be partially covered in diamond dust and old bloodstains. (You’re too afraid to ask, partially because the last poor cannon fodder sod who asked disappeared and also because you’re pretty sure you don’t want to know where he got it from.)
(Okay, that was a lie, but still our self-preservation outweighs your curiosity.)
(Most of the time.)
He also carries around a pair of strange blades with straps attached, but you’re not quite sure how they were used. (And whenever you or anyone else you managed to bribe into asking for you asked he would smile mysteriously and deflect like a champ.)
(He keeps on giving you these funny smiles and you know that he knows you’ve been asking around.)
Hair: Blonde
Eye: Blue (No, that was not a typo. You can never have too many rakish men with eye-patches.)
(Unfortunately, what hides under his eye-patch is just as unsettling as his personality.)
(Not terrifying or anything. Just unsettling.)
Personal Skill
Winter’s Grace
“This kid, has gone streaking out in weather so cold your breath doesn’t just condense, it freezes. And here you have this guy who strips down to his birthday suit and frolics out about in a blizzard! And do you know what the worst part is? He looks good while doing it. Even I can’t pull that off and I’m the epitome of perfection!”  - Definitely Aton at some point in his life
When on Snowy terrain, all allies including the Unit’s will  receive a +3 in Spd, Str, Luck, and Skill, as well as a +1 movement, +10 Avoid and Dodge. These numbers will grow by +1 every third round.
Otherwise, the increase remains at +1 for all aforementioned Stats except for movement throughout the entire battle.
[Yes, he does have a Dragon Vein ability. It kind of fits in with the Seiryu category with several notable Genbu exceptions.]

Background
Born to an estranged daughter of an Ice Tribe couple, Hvít inherited his father’s magical powers.
His father was a powerful and infamous Sorcerer from the Northern Lands, further North of even the Ice Tribe Lands.
Or so said his mother, but then again she continued to insist that he was female for most of his young life so he didn’t lend her words much credence.
From the time that his mother arrived at the Ice Tribe, there have been weather anomalies around the area such as an increase in snowstorms, drastic drops in temperature, a lack of hunting game and longer, harsher winters.
Many of the non-magical community blamed Hvít’s mother and started heaping blame and abuse on her shoulders.
A few years after Hvít’s birth, his grandfather died of an illness and his grandmother died soon after from what appears to be a wild bear attack.
The villagers can no longer be quelled by the soothing of the Tribal Chief and verbal insults soon become more physical in nature as the non-magical community and even some of the Dark Mages, Sorcerers, and Witches start to panic.
He activated his powers when the villagers attempted to kill him and his mother around when he was ten.
He freezes all of the men hiding in the snow banks who are watching to see the deed done.
His mother still ends up drowning to death.
Frightened, he escapes out into the wilderness before the other villagers realize what has happened.
He meets Gemma there as he wanders farther South.
She takes him under her figurative wing.
Skip forward about 20 years later, Hvít is 40 and wandering the lands with his daughter as a Troubadour.
He joins Corrin’s army when he realizes Gemma has joined and brings his daughter along with him.
(Well that was unnecessarily dark and dramatic.)
Fun Tid-bits
- He acts very carefree and easygoing, but he is actually always low-key distressed. And when he gets distressed, he feels the need to burn off the extra energy by either dancing or fighting. But he still continues to act super blasé which only adds another layer of unease to your towering quadruple decker sandwich long list of things that kind of freak you out about him.
- He is very protective of Gemma and jokingly calls her his mother. He considers her more like a guardian, but he is just as devoted to making her happy as any other child she raised
- He is a very aggressive person; he’s aggressively friendly, aggressively caring, aggressively mothering- He’s just really aggressive in general. That’s in positive contexts. Dragons help you if you manage to piss him off.
- He is a fairly good older brother who will totally back you up in a fight if you need it, but is completely willing to let you get beat up so that you can learn from the experience and so that he can watch and laugh at you from the sidelines.
- He likes embroidering and knitting. He’s quite good at both, though his embroidery is leagues better than Gemma’s any given day of the week. Partially because he spends so much time practicing it.
Additional Info
*Northern Reaches is FE14 Fanon Code for Russia and all the other Nordic countries.
You could figure the Ice Tribe into their somewhere, but the primary reason I’m relating cultures and geography in the game to the real world is because I am too lazy to come up with completely different cultures that are the perfect mix of cultural characteristics that are influenced by history and local climate. :/
Note: I’m reading over this again and I just realized that not only is he a nod to the YOI-themed thoughts flying around my head, he is also a relic of other blue-themed people. Baseball obsessed assassin standing out in the snow: “The cold never bothered me anyways.”
I am literally so disappointed with how unoriginal I am.
(I mean, he hasn’t built himself a castle of isolation on top of a mountain peak or started wearing a pretty dress made of frost and magic in my headcanons of him, but I figure it’s only a matter of time.)
Quotes
“Hey, how’re you doing?” (On your Castle grounds while you’re walking around)
“Hey, at least you know you’re bound to win something good next time.” (After losing multiple times in a row at the Lottery while he is manning it.)
“Lovely weather we’re having today, wouldn’t you say so?” (When partnering up in Snowy Terrain)
“Hey, your shirt’s pretty nice. My daughter used to wear one of those when she was four.” (Avoid or Dodge successfully)
