Went to get my new passport photo and for a moment I felt as young as the photographer and then he showed me the photo. My first thought was what is wrong with the camera? A rubber faced old man was wearing my clothes!!

Changing the name of the bases hits me hard. These bases were named for the leaders of an opposing faction. The war was over. People should study the real reasons behind the war and not buy into the propaganda. The leadership qualities of these men were being recognized. I believe it was also a way to reunite the country. This is just the opinion of an old man.

Trying to make my wife’s world safer and better is a struggle. Mainly because there isn’t a set standard to go by, it’s a moving target. My wife left her family, her culture, and her country to build a life with me. How could I not be always trying to make her sacrifice worth it. She spends her days making other people’s lives better. I am humbled by her giving heart.
Make her feel safe. It is work, but it is a worthy pursuit. There are so few safe places for her. Give her that gift, even were she not to give you anything. In fact, you should expect nothing in return whatsoever for giving her safety is reward in its own right… I think this is one of the greatest differences between a boy and a man. Men have the ability to make someone feel safe. Boys do not.
