3. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?

Probably Chapter 3 of Brave Soldier Girl. It had a super mixed response to it, leaning towards the negative (lots of people saying it didn't make sense for the characters to do what they did or that it was just poorly written or whatever other B.S. they wanted to say), but you know what?

Fuck 'em. That was a really damn hard chapter for me to write, and I feel like I did a damn good job with it. I normally don't like the stuff I write - I feel like I get characterizations wrong, or that things are rushed, or that my dialogue sucks, or that I use too much dialogue vs description, or whatever - but sometimes, just sometimes, I feel like I really get it right.

And that chapter of Brave Soldier Girl is one time I feel like I really did get it right.

18. The character that gave you the most trouble writing this year?

Azula. It's always Azula. She doesn't particularly enjoy listening. Or being cooperative. Or...well, anything but she wants to do.

19. What’s one pairing you want to explore next year?

Uhh...I have a lot of those. Jozai (June/Ozai) and Longbee (Smellerbee/Longshot, and yes, they're my OTP, no, I don't care) for ATLA; I have long WIPs for both of that I want to finish writing. Others include Ereloy (Erend/Aloy) for Horizon, Drifter/Eris Morn for Destiny, and Dragonborn/Serana for Skyrim. And then pairings within my original work that I won't mention because...well, no one but me and like 3 other people will understand the character names.

28. Favorite work you wrote this year?

By far, it's sea of sand. It's so short, and almost nobody read it, but I love it a lot.

Some final unhinged thoughts about the story of Haunted.

This is probably my most favorite season since I came back to Destiny (I came back in Arrivals) and since Splicer, my last favorite season. The story hit me every week, seeing these characters overcome their traumas and go on the path of healing has made me so soft. Crow accepting his past life as Uldren and promising to right his wrongs but no longer being tied down by them, Zavala forgiving himself for the death of his son and Caiatl trying to right Ghaul and her fathers wrongs and make the Cabal a better and stronger empire. To Top it all off we have Eris Morn guiding them and helping them on their path towards healings, just as we did for her back in Shadowkeep.

This season is about Love, forgiveness and hope. Destiny is about hope and this season used that to tell a beautiful story about these characters. I’m very excited for what’s in the future (especially with that last HELM message) and can’t wait to see what Bungie has in store for us.
