"... Sam Ash Fuzzz Boxx / Astro Astrotone Fuzz built on our wide spacing 2x8 pseudo eyelet board. The case is a hand-painted sloped YY enclosure, and the knobs are our newly-added P-K402 knobs, which are in the same style as the originals. There's a Lumberg power jack as well as a battery-power option which can be disconnected via the side rocker switch (P-H518). There were multiple transistor types used in the originals. This build uses silicon Fairchild TO-5s with a similar hfe range and the B-E junction of two TO-5 transistors for the clipping diodes. The insulation used on many of the leads is NOS, but it's very similar to our white old-style spaghetti sleeving, S-M436W. The last two photos are layouts for different build options. The first one, the "Tone Fix" option, adds an extra capacitor not found in the originals in order to squeeze a little more functionality out of the tone control, which is otherwise somewhat lackluster. The last photo is the original Fuzzz Boxx circuit. There is an added 100uF power supply stabilization cap in both layouts. Note that I used 9mm pots here to give the knobs wider spacing. Their 5mm bushings do not make it all the way through the thick walls of the YY enclosure, so they were epoxied in. 16mm Alpha pots have slightly longer bushing where that may not be a problem, but the knobs would have to be a little closer together."

Mentoring was not something Dazai found himself particularly fond of. Though, between training Akutagawa and {{user}}, Dazai would have to admit that he found a particular joy in kicking Anm across the filthy, epoxy-coated floors of the damp, musky warehouse.
At least {{user}} didn’t whine all too much about proving themselves to Dazai, marking them just a smidgen higher on the mental scale of decent protégés.
Even then, Dazai’s right eye narrowed as he glared at {{user}}, who was shaking on their knees as they threw up whatever Dazai had mercifully kicked out their system. The sound of them coughing and sputtering echoing in the dimly lit warehouse.
{{user}} could cough all they wanted, cry all they wanted, bleed and sputter and beg all they wanted, and Dazai could care less. Dazai felt nothing towards his apprentice as he stood, shoulders sharp and rigid in this dingy, dilapidated warehouse stocked to the brim with crates and random Port Mafia storage.
Dazai crossed his arms over his chest, his eyebrows creasing in disappointment as he stared at the crumpled form only a few metres away, who finally bothered to stare up at him — albeit blearily and unfocused.
“Get up.”
The warehouse was poorly insulated, cold breeze chilling both of them. And while {{user}} trembled on the floor, shaking from blood loss, fatigue, and the frigidness of the uninsulated warehouse, Dazai blatantly ignored the conditions. The cold was comparable to his shipping container residence, which was its own form of hell.
"Earn your keep — get up."
Dazai saw potential in {{user}}, that was the only reason they were in this position. They were a mutt and he trained them as such: trained them, beat down into unwavering submission whether through verbal or physical manipulation — moulded them into what was meant to be a perfect killer.
The mess of limbs that struggled to even lift themselves off the floor was far from the perfect killer Dazai was hoping to produce.
Dazai’s dark amber eyes narrowed in a twisted hope that {{user}} would get up — prove their worth by standing up and taking their beating. After a few minutes of watching {{user}} flop down onto the floor not unlike that of a dying fish, their limbs far too fatigued to continue, Dazai sighed. How disgustingly pitiful.
With another swing of his feet, Dazai slammed the shoebox of his hard loafers into {{user}}'s stomach, sending them rolling with pained groans.

Recently my earphone L-pad started getting weird, sometimes it worked fine and sometimes one ear or the other would drop out and you'd have to wiggle it. I gouged out the epoxy and redid it. I probably won't pot it this time, I just went to town with heatshrink insulating all the internals.
Soldered down the tip channel's connection to the terminals since it was kind of wiggly. Probably the source of the issue? Didn't bother with a root cause analysis because whatever it was would necessitate a full rebuild. Also I don't have nearly enough storage oscilloscope to analyze that.
If it's possible for a piece of passive electronics to be dogeared, this is it. Works great though.

Look at how awesome the new place is coming along! It's an 8000 square feet (if you include the attached garage) barndominium! The entire bottom floor is all designed for the animals and 3/4 of the upstairs is Pipsqueakery related too. We do get a sweet little corner of our own for us, the groundhogs, Nicholas, and anyone else who inevitably needs to sleep in our bed but like theoretically I could sleep in a room with fewer than 20 animals! The most exciting part is really how it will give us space to give everyone much better set-ups though and really allow us to utilize the space so much better! At this point we have raised enough money for all the parts that outside contractors are doing but we still need to raise about $50,000 for the finishing. So that means framing, HVAC, electric, plumbing, concrete, and drywall upstairs is covered. However, we are still fundraising for all the things Jason and I will be doing! That includes floors (vinyl upstairs and epoxy downstairs comes to about $7,000), insulation everywhere (about $15,000), our deliciously inexpensive cabinets and counters for several different rooms (I think I can manage under $7,000), interior doors (apparently about $2000 for 20 something doors), the drop ceiling downstairs (i don't actually know how much), some bathroom fixtures (i.e. toilets, maybe $700), ceiling fans for a few places (about $1,500), and all the small random things that I'm definitely forgetting like doorknobs. So, if you're able to even spare $1 pretty please consider donating!
