Okay, I don’t usually do this, but there needs to be more propaganda for Lizzie. Her first crew all seemingly died or disappeared when she was a kid (she washed up on a beach). She fell in love with an enemy soldier who loved her back. She watched her die. She’s going to war against the whole navy. She’s a pirate. She has a cringefail friend that she hadn’t seen in years and she immediately knocked him out by pantsing him, thus dealing psychic damage (or something to that effect, it’s been awhile).

you know a massive pet peeve of mine that should not bother me nearly as much about fandoms?

when extremely intelligent characters that are bad at feelings get watered down to being stupid.

like some people will see a character with brilliant strategies, holds their own in a fight, excellent with logicistics and incredibly competent. but they'll be emotionally constipated, not have experiences with feelings, or not know about something they've never been exposed to before.

and they get called stupid. or treated like they're a helpless baby who can't do anything and can't make any decisions.

that annoys me to NO END. it honestly probably shouldn't bug me nearly as much as it does.

I think it's that people will ignore how characters will be extremely intelligent, like genuinely, not just the narrative saying that. and then they'll have trouble understanding emotions, or have never been exposed to something and therefore have no idea what it means, or be bad at social cues.

and then the fandom will write them as being an idiot or completely helpless and idk man it really shouldn't bug me this much. it's just really annoying.

a sub genre of this that bugs me even worse for even less of a rational reason? people calling the character idiots for not getting people care about them. like n. No. extremely smart people can doubt why anyone would ever love them. extremely smart people can be extremely insecure.

I genuinely don't know why it bothers me so much, its really not that big of a deal. but it does, so might as well yell into the void.
