“We’ve had a lull for a little while, why don’t you go in and see your friend?”

Jade glanced up from the cash box in the corner of the food truck and looked to her new food truck manager as soon as she’d finished counting the bills in her hand. “Hm? Oh, okay. I’m just about finished and then I’ll head inside.”

Mel, the food truck manager, said, “This was a great idea, partnering with the bookstore. I know some of the Barnes & Noble stores have little cafes and things now. This is the next best thing for us being parked out here.”

With an agreeing smile, Jade placed the money back in the cash box. “That’s true. I’m glad that this has worked out.” She stood , brushing a few lingering crumbs from her Fresh Start Catering apron and then said, “I’ll be back soon. If Emmie comes out here, her food is completely comped, okay?”

Mel nodded and lifted a raised thumb, “You got it, Boss.”

With a small shake of her head, Jade opened the rear door and stepped off of the truck, heading into the bookstore in search of Emmie. She saw one of the drag queens reading a fairy tale to a smattering of kids seated at her sparkly-heeled feet, but her main focus in the moment had been finding Emmie.

Over the weekend I went to the Deerfield craft fair and got some cute new outfits for the bitty babies and Ruby Red Fashion Friends :)

I also got to see a really cool doll exhibit at the Memorial Hall museum! I was super excited (2 of my absolute favorite things, dolls and museums)!! My sister was freaking out over the tiny dishes and dollhouse because she loves miniatures. Pics under the cut because there are a lot of them :)

Outside of the doll exhibit I also saw these shoes that look just like the ones from Samantha's flower picking outfit!
