I love this detail from the films where Severus is holding a big pile of books, but also helps Lily hold her own too and picks them up for her when James tries to separate them causing Lily to drop them.

I swear to god if I see someone try to talk shit about Annabeth Chase being casted with a black actress I’ll throw hands.

Don’t even try to bullshit about how she “Needs to be Blonde Hair and Grey eyed” because of the plot significance as a child of Athena.

1. Wigs/Dyes and Contacts Exist, and even if they don’t want to go that route...

2. Daniel Radcliffe didn’t wear the iconic “you have your mother’s eyes” Lily Potter Green Eyes the ENTIRE Harry Potter Film Series (he had a reaction to the contacts when they were filming the first one), and in the Flashback scene Young Lily Potter’s actress (Ellie May Darcey-Alden) didn’t have the iconic green eyes either.

3. To quote Rick Riordan when it was brought up about if they would dye Walker Scobell’s (Set to play Percy Jackson) hair black: “For me, finding the right actors has never been about hair color, eye color, skin color, or any other single physical trait, even if they were described a certain way in the books. As many of you know, I flubbed such details myself several times in the series. Thalia’s eyes changed from green to blue. Oops! Annabeth’s hair was curly and then it was straight. Nico was described as olive-skinned, then later as pale. Blackjack even changed from a mare to a stallion over the course of two books. ... What I want to see are age-appropriate actors who can embody the personalities of the characters, nail their voices and their sense of humor, and make you believe: “Yes, that is Percy. That is Grover. That is Annabeth,” even if they’re not exactly how the characters were described physically in the books.”

VIOLET CRAWFORD is a 12 year old PATIENT in the MEDICAL WARD. She has been diagnosed with LEUKEMIA, and looks a lot like Ellie Darcy-Alden.

MAYBE THEY’RE HIDING

Violet was a bright child, in more ways than one. She was eager and light hearted, but her vibrant red hair also made her stand out. Her parents often got compliments for their two beautiful daughters, Violet and her older sister. While some people considered red hair and fair skin to be ‘ugly’ in contemporary beauty standards, the Crawford family used it as a blessing more than a curse. It was definitely a blessing when Violet’s sister was younger and a casting agent caught sight of her in a mall. She went in to acting, and once Violet could walk and talk, she followed soon after.

WE HOPE THEY ARE PLAYING A GAME

Violet always looked up to her sister, who seemed to have her life planned out in front of her, booking left right centre, and she wanted nothing more than to follow in her footsteps. She was starting to, too, until she started feeling ill. Sweats, chills, being tired…. With an audition the next day, her parents thought she might just be nervous, making Violet go anyways. The young girl felt horrible, and it showed in her performance. Then, it happened again… it wasn’t just a cold, but none of them could pin point it. All of Violet’s ‘episodes’ were interfering with other schedules, and so her parents took her in to see if there was anything actually wrong.

BUT THIS IS REALLY HAPPENING

Turns out, it was a good thing they brought Violet in when they did: she had cancer. Leukemia, to be specific. Obviously this was a shock, but they had to do what was best for their child and her health. After talking to Violet about it, they collectively decided to look in to facilities. Living an aspiring actor’s life didn’t call for a regular childhood, so perhaps it would be nice for a girl of such a young age to get to experience that? And while death was not certain for Violet, it was still a possibility, and so they didn’t want her to miss out on some of the more simple things in life. While it is hard being away from her family, it will also be a change for the young girl to be at Serenity.
