I wonder just how much of an influence the Enclave had on the Brotherhood of Steel. To be honest, I've had this thought for a while, just bouncing around my head like an old Windows screensaver. I can't help but think that the Enclave had some impact on how the Arthur Maxson era Brotherhood turned out by the time they reached the Commonwealth.

The Brotherhood's sudden emphasis on all things non-human (super mutants, synths, ghouls, feral and otherwise) being some kind of blight on the planet is a little too reminiscent of the Enclave's history of attempted "mutant" genocide. (To the Enclave, even regular humans were counted as "mutants" if they'd been living in the wastes. They only viewed themselves as truly and "purely" human.)

I dunno, does this make any sense to anyone else?

sorry if this has been asked before! but I was wondering about your character Iggy...how does it work out that he's a ghoul and a part of the brotherhood? do they allow him to stay once he turns ghoul? does he face any bigotry from other members, especially Danse?

You know now that I think about it Maxson was most definitely groomed and manipulated to be the way he is Fallout 4. There’s no way he got to that position without someone whispering in his ear he was 10. Plus all of his achievements sound like made up propaganda. Like he did not kill a Deathclaw single handedly at 13 who does he think he is Mama Murphy? Although the Deathclaw story could unironically be a lie he told to sound cool and can no longer back out of because it’s gone on for so long I mean he’s canonically lied about getting a kill before.

But I don’t know. I just know there’s definitely some shady shit going on in the East Coast Brotherhood ever since the Lyons died.

Arthur Maxson tells Preston Garvey how he got his scar.

"Deathclaws are terrifying, the smaller ones are even worse if you can believe it.” He pointed to the scar on his face. “Got this wrangling a tiny one. It was trying to kill my...a friend of mine and I stepped in its way. Slashed me right down the face. It was a good day.” He smiled weakly remember how angry Sarah had gotten at him for putting himself in harm's way. “I was barely an initiate then.” His reverie was cut short by the roar of voices that greeted Preston from the bar. Inside the ‘Claw, an uproar of Garvey!  went up at the sight of Preston. He smiled.

“Well the baby ones have to survive to adulthood. You’re lucky that’s all it did to you and it didn't run to get its mama." Preston grinned “Just an initiate, no kiddin’? That was the first time I’d ever seen one up close- when it was dead. For which I am very grateful.”

Maxson nodded. “Yes, just an initiate. It was terrifying. All I had was a pistol. Luckily for me and Sarah, the juveniles aren’t as thick-skinned as the adults.”
