other times, you find a recreation of the necklace you were eyeing through the window of a shop, the sparkling diamond replaced with a bullet. other times, she leaves bits of rubble from her missions, and though its quite frankly useless, it tells you that even across the bridge, she's thinking of you

physical touch, he's never truly at ease when he doesn't have an arm slinged over your shoulders or around your waist

maybe this is a projection of his fears, of watching a loved one disappear from his sight, a fear so vivid you can see reflected in his eyes when he looks at you

in your most intimate moments, he'll bury his face in your neck and breathe you in, your presence never wavering by his side, simply holding him there when he needs it

acts of service, it's no surprise to you really, knowing that his research usually took precedence over your relationship. sometimes, on silent nights where the air is still unlike the raging thoughts in your head, the only company under a cold moon, you wonder if he truly even loves you

but though he isn't fond of endearing words, or not one to cling, it is the cup of fresh coffee waiting for you once you open your eyes to a new day, or the silent completion of household chores, or the blanket that is thrown over your tired body in the middle of the night that spells out his care for you

(Hi! Thank you for complimenting my writing! Im pretty new to x readers, I try my best even if I struggle with em 😅 And I had time at 2 AM! So here ya go, enjoy!)

When you're stressed she immediately knows

She's used to the feelings of being stressed

Growing up in the lanes and all

Whether it be from work, projects or anything in general she knows

And she doesn't want that for you

But she sorta struggles with helping when you're stressed but also is great at it at the same time

She has some experience with when she was stressed and helping Powder growing up

So she's been down this road before

Most of the time she'll sit behind you as you both sit in silence, just hugging you from behind while you do whatever

She also tries to help with whatever you're stressed with

And by helping I mean she ain't letting you do it and she is gonna do it herself

She just loves you to much

But there was a small set back because she didn't know how to help you specifically

Everyone was different, so it took a while for her to know but eventually she came up with an amazing solution

You and Vi sat in silence, she had come home and knowing you had been stressed for a while she wanted to help. But she didn't really know how, not really knowing how she could help you specifically so she is trying her best.

So when she saw you sitting on your guys' bed reading, she joined you. She got herself comfortable behind you and hugged your waist from behind, a small smile gracing her lips as she felt you lean back into her.

She felt like she was needed at that moment, like she could help you for all the times you'd have helped her before.

So you both sat there for a while, in silence as she rubbed her thumb softly over your side. You both eventually fell asleep like that, her leaning against the headboard of the bed as you leaned back into her.

Eventually when she woke up you were still sleeping, she would remove herself slowly as she got up and ready. She was gonna surprise you with finishing whatever you were stressed about.

She ain't gonna let you worry your pretty little head about it. Never, for as long as she lived. Because she may be a brute but she loves you, forever and always.

EKKO

He's used to the feeling of stress and always knows what to do

He is always, and I mean always prepared

Him being the leader of the firelights he knew what it felt like to be stressed and he understood your feelings

He after all had built the firelights from the ground up

And had been alone for a while, in the lanes after everything

And when he was stressed you always helped, whether just being there with him or making him laugh

You were always there

So he wanted to return that

He never wanted you to be stressed, how could he let you go on like that?

He's not evil

He thinks you're the best and don't deserve to worry about anything, that you deserve anything and everything

One day he would give it to you

And he also tries and helps the best he can, even if he doesn't understand what you're stressed about

He'll be over your shoulder, helping you with it and whatnot

When he was stressed he needed a laugh or comfort

So he thought, why not give you both?

Ekko opened his room door, seeing you laying on your back at the foot of the bed. You sat up once you heard the door open, offering him a small smile.

"Hey." You spoke, him smiling at your soft tone. "Hey, spitfire." He walked over to you after putting his jacket on a random chair and hanging up his mask. He sat down next to you, he noticed you looked tired as he frowned slightly.

You had been so stressed lately, he tried helping but didn't really know what to do. He pushed some of your hair out of your face, you smiling at the affection as you slightly leaned into the warmth of his hand.

He smiled at your action, he was happy he could help even a bit. He wrapped his arm around your shoulder, scooching over a bit as you were now leaning into his side.

You sighed, closing your eyes as you leaned your head onto his shoulder. He smiled even wider, if possible as he rested his chin on your head. 

As he looked out the open window as he could tell the sun was setting from the orange glow flowing in he got an idea.

He smirked a bit before moving a bit to blow a raspberry into your neck. You immediately burst into a fit of laughter, moving back as he began to tickle your side.

"Ekko!" You laughed, trying to escape and almost succeeding but the boy wrapping his arms around your waist and pulling you back towards him.

"Nu-uh!" He chuckled, smiling at your laughter as you kept trying to escape and kept failing. "Stop it!" You tried to fight off his hands from your side, Ekko winning the fight as your sides hurt from your laughter.

The room filled with your giggles and Ekko's chuckling, the firelight leader happy that he helped you forget your stress, even for a minute.

And plus, he loved the sound of your laugh.

Airheaded S/O Headcannons #7: Jinx (Arcane)

Starting off on a strong point, you are her everything.

She's known you since the days when Vander was still around.

You were the clumsy kid who competed with Ekko to bring her juice (Even if you always spilled it anyways)

You were the only one who managed to mess up worse than her

And as Powder, she used that to her advantage whenever someone called her a jinx

"Y/n broke five glasses yesterday by just standing, but I'm the jinx?"

But even back then it wasn't coming from a bad place, more of an understanding one.

Zaun didn't take too kindly to screw-ups, and you two were probably the biggest.

You weren't there the night everything went to shit.

So when you showed up to the bar the next day and both Benzo and Ekko were missing, you just assumed they'd quit and abandoned it.

A few days later and a man named Silco came in saying 'the bar was under new management.'

To which you replied with an 'okay!' 😃 just happy to have people again.

Then you saw Powder by his side and raced behind the counter to get her favorite juice

Only to end up faceplanting on the floor as you tripped, then proceeded to try again about 6 more times.

It resulted in Jinx smiling for the first time in days.

From then on, you're hers forever. No take backsies 😡😡😡

Whenever she wants to get away from the hallucinations voices, she'll stop by the newly renovated bar/brothel and watch you attempt to hand out drinks.

Seeing you spill it over the patrons and having them not being able to do a damn thing about it brings her so much joy.

She 100% babies you and makes Silco's henchmen do the same.

You cut yourself with glass?

Don't worry, Mama's here with a very colorful bandage and a kiss to top it off.

Having problems with the Enforcers?

Silco's paying them off (threatening them) so they leave you alone.

Inhaled too many toxic fumes and got sick?

Only soup and warm blankets for you. And cuddles. And mayhaps a bedtime story.

You are the only person allowed to call Jinx 'Powder'.

She'll kill anyone else

In Zaun, you have to be strong to survive.

And in your special case, you've punched someone harder than Vander with his gloves because they said something mean about Jinx.

The patrons at the bar all of a sudden don't wanna fight you when you make a mess.

Silco, although he despises anyone that tries to get close to his daughter, will tolerate you simply because you're too stupid to be a threat.

Although he does also like that you can hold your own if push comes to shove

He doesn't want a weakling to drag down Jinx.

It's a fact that Jinx is a brainiac when it comes to tech.

Whenever she's working on a new bomb or upgrading FishBones, she's always rambling on to you about how it works.

Even if you have no clue and stare all blank faced.

A look she adores and calls your 'thinking face'

She won't ever make fun of you for not getting things right away because you have so much more to offer than your non existent brain.

You've been there for her through everything and not once did you ever call her a jinx

Even now you don't call her by her new name.

She'll be having an episode, shouting at people who weren't there anymore, and you always wait for her to get her bearings with her favorite juice placed in front of her.

Jinx has two rules for any people that cross her path

#1 Don't bring up the Vander incident

#2 Don't call Y/n an idiot.

Anybody who tries the second is immediately shot on the spot.

No slander will be tolerated.

You two haven't officially asked the other out.

It's more of an 'I'm yours and you're mine' kinda thing.

Jinx likes to call you sunshine because you're the only light in a very dark world.

Other favorites include: sweets, baby, tough stuff, and the occasional toots

Jinx has never really had anything to call her own, so she will absolutely get jealous if someone has your attention for 1 second.

Why do you wanna even talk to anybody else? Is she not good enough anymore?

"I'm just trying to earn tips, but if you want me to take the rest of the night off I will. You're perfect, Powder."

And she's sobbing, smooshing herself against you to get as close as possible.

She's got you in a death grip saying 'she loves you so much' and 'that she's sorry' and 'wants you to keep working'.

But she makes you promise to take the next day off so she can spend the day talking your ear off while cuddling.

You're her everything, even if most of the time you're a bigger jinx than she is.

Ekko and Mel are really stuck between a rock in a hard place when it comes to how they're perceived by the fandom.

The grievances that black Arcane Fans have with how Ekko and Mel are and were treated by the fandom will either never fully be understood or outright ignored by non black sections of the fandom. I think a reason for this is because Arcane as a setting is very much a broad look at class disparities, it's something everybody regardless of race or ethnicity can relate too and that's great in its own right because it does allow for more general discussions about the show but I think that because it's so broad that when POC fans start to point out things they may not like or problems they have with this depiction they often get ignored because of the general setting.

Ekko and Mel already have a hurdle to cross just by being black characters in general but I think because of the setting and because of their roles within the story that this is sorta amplified. Bad faith interpretations, cruel headcannons, like the fact that people unironically think that Ekko is "getting in the way" of Zaun's independence I think shows how far the plot has been lost (this is prevalent on reddit mostly tbf).

Ekko and Mel also committed the cardinal sin when it comes to being a black character which is getting in the way of a ship between two white characters. Mel is just either outright ignored or demonized to the fullest degree. I mean the way she talked about you would think she is the main villain of the show. Ekko on the other hand while not forgotten is still met with a level of disdain and look I get it, if you had a ship you really liked and another ship comes along and not only starts to get popular but also have the slim chance of becoming canon I get how you can get defensive over your personal ship but commenting on Timebomb ship art and post with counter ships or how it "will never happen" is just rude and uncalled for and it's not even like Timebomb is a new thing, it's been a thing since Ekko's release and maybe it's just me but the fact that Jinx has like five other ships but the one where she happens to be shipped with a black character is also the one that seems to get the brunt of the ire does make me side eye a bit.

Overall this was just a little rant I had in my head for a while now and I know at the end of the day all of this probably isn't as serious as I'm making it out to be but look I just really like Ekko and Mel okay😭

I have a lot of thoughts about intimacy and romantic/sexual relationships that deviate from expectations. However, I am not personally asexual (I think? It's complicated) so take my writing with a grain of salt. -Finn

The undercity isn't exactly rife with the time and space for intimacy. Sex is for brothels and back alleys, Ekko tries to avoid both when he can.

So there's a solid chance that it would take a long time for any sexual situation to even come up. With how busy he is with the Firelights, much of your relationship is quick stolen kisses and falling asleep in each other's arms after long days.

The first time anything starts going further would be after a successful raid, with Ekko still riding the adrenaline high and finally having a moment to breathe. He kisses you like you're all the reward he could ask for after all his tireless work.

He's too careful with you for anything to get too far before you tell him what you are and aren't okay with. And he takes in the information like it's vital. It is, to him. You are, to him.

He's someone that wants to know all of the specifics of your boundaries before he tries anything again. It's so deeply important to him that you enjoy the way he interacts with you and touches you.

Big fan of having his hands on your sides under your shirt, just holding you. He likes the skin to skin contact.

He's very tactile in general with you when he has the chance. It's rare outside of the privacy of his room, but he loves just being able to touch you. It doesn't have to be sexual, he just wants you close.

That being said, whatever level of sexual interaction you want, he'll be very willing to indulge, given the proper time.

Ekko prefers the focus to be on you rather than him. He wants to make you feel good.

After your headcannons about Lika (and quite frequent mentions of her resemblance to Jinx), I am interested in your headcannons on the FnF fancast, if you don't mind P.S. Knowing that Silco was familiar with Lika in the past, does he notice a surprisingly large number of similarities with her in Jinx, and not only in appearance (her brat behavior is also kind of like her mom XD)

Lika and Jinx do share surface similarities - witty tinkerers with a trickster streak. But Jinx's mannerisms are patterned heavily on Silco's, so all he sees when he looks at her is the changes he's imbued her with ('silvering' her, in a sense.)

In his mind, Lika was charming enough, but unutterably common.

Jinx is perfection.
