Request: smooth as butter Steve flirting with Eddie while the CC boys watch in shock as their ruthless Eddie turns red(?) and gets all blushy bc he doesn't know how to deal with this STEVE???? making it better:it happens during DND the one time Eddie gets Steve to play & the entire time Steve's human bard character flirting hardcore with Eddie via his NPC's (the kids aren't involved in this one just Steddie & Corroded Coffin boys)
MY LOVEEEEEEE!!!! Okay I have never played. I know. Hush, I know. My best friend wants me to so bad she bought me dice. And like, I probably will, but like Steve, my brain is trying to not only deal with math, but also just how involved it all is. I like games that take about half a brain cell. I'm also super bad at the flirting thing, in real life and when writing. I just cannot do it my friends. But I did my best here and I hope it isn't the worst😂 - Mickala ❤️
--------------------------------------------------
He was doing this for Dustin.
He made a character sheet with Lucas, went over the basics, learned that maybe the math part wouldn’t be so bad.
And then he convinced Eddie to let him do a one shot with the Corroded Coffin guys so he could get a feel for it all without Dustin knowing.
He didn’t get that creative with his character according to Lucas, but he was also supportive and understanding that Steve wasn’t doing this as a regular thing.
Eddie explained to the guys that they needed to be patient, that Steve was genuinely trying to learn.
“Everyone was new once, so I don’t wanna hear anything from any of you about how annoying it is to have to take it so slow and explain everything. He’s trying to do a nice thing for Henderson and we’re going to be nice.”
Everyone groaned, but nodded in agreement.
“Are we talking about your crush on him yet, or is that still off the table?” Gareth had the gall to ask.
“There’s no crush to even have on the table,” Eddie said.
“Sure, dude.”
—--------------
Things were not going well.
Well, okay, they werent going bad.
It’s just that Lucas apparently explained to Steve that being in character was very important and Steve failed to mention that his character’s charisma was the highest possible option.
He shouldn’t be surprised by that.
Maybe he’s just surprised with all the blatant flirting.
The guys keep shooting him looks like they know that he’s struggling, that they can see that he is barely able to hold onto the power the DM usually has.
“The guard stops you, but he recognizes you. ‘You’re the one who stole the sword!’ he yells, catching the attention of the other guards. You panic because your party is still hiding in the bush with strict instructions not to be seen unless they draw their weapons on you. How will you respond?”
Steve smirked.
Not good. Run away. Get out, Munson, you’re fucked.
But he couldn’t leave.
He was the DM, and they were barely halfway done with what he had planned.
He had to see this through and he had to give Steve the best possible introduction to this game.
It was for Dustin.
“I’d probably have to insist that it wasn’t me he saw, but that I sure wish I’d seen him before. Maybe wink at him,” Steve said. “Actually, definitely wink at him.”
Steve looked at everyone else, smile silently asking for approval.
Everyone smirked at Eddie before giving him a thumbs up.
Traitors.
He’d be saying something later for sure.
“The guard is still suspicious, but waves the other guards off. He looks you over, circles you, decides to take your only weapon.”
“Not my only weapon. I still have plenty of time to distract him.”
Eddie squints at him, just as suspicious as the guard in their game.
“Roll for-”
“Persuasion, right?” Steve interrupted.
“Sure. Roll for persuasion, Stevie,” Eddie pretended not to be flustered at Steve remembering aspects of the game.
“18!” Steve yelled. “Plus the 13. So that’s…” he held his hand up while he thought about it. “31!”
Everyone at the table cheered except for Eddie.
He knew what was coming.
“I offer to let the guard check me for weapons in private if he’s still suspicious. I tell him it’s better to take all my clothes off where he can do something about it.”
Eddie hated what was happening.
He hated that he could feel how red his face was, and how much Steve was thriving off of putting Eddie off of his own game.
He hated the way the guys were all watching, literally holding their breath for Eddie’s reaction.
“The guard decides to lead you past the gate, but instead of taking you to the entrance to the castle, he leads you down a side road. It leads to a small cottage, and you start to worry that your party won’t find you.”
Steve doesn’t even hesitate.
“I let him lead me where he wants. I can take it.”
Eddie is going to die. Right here.
Steve knows what he’s doing, what he’s saying.
He knows what he is doing to Eddie.
And, okay, maybe they haven’t talked about it, maybe they’ve both been avoiding the very obvious tension between them for months. Maybe Eddie could have taken a chance any of the times they’ve been alone lately to finally talk about it.
Or maybe Steve would just keep flirting with him through this stupid game until Eddie couldn’t even do what he needed to do.
And everyone around them would just get to watch it unfold.
Jeff, his only friend at the moment, cleared his throat and decided to speak up.
“I think the rest of the party should follow. Just in case he needs backup. Guys?”
Thank God for Jeff.
It continues, the rest of the party finds a way to get past the guards, and Eddie admits to himself that he’s making it easier on purpose.
He wants, no, needs this game to end.
And he gets his wish ten minutes later when the phone rings and it’s Dustin, begging for a ride.
Eddie ignores the fact that he called his trailer knowing Steve would be here already, but the rest of the group doesn’t.
While Steve is on the phone, they all quietly tease Eddie.
“If I knew Steve would fluster you this much, I think we would have invited him a long time ago,” Grant said.
“Yeah, we probably would’ve had much easier campaigns if he joined in high school,” Gareth added.
“Yeah? Next time you all get to die, how about that? Terrible, bloody deaths. Gareth gets tortured.”
Before any of them could answer, Steve came into the room, looking a bit sad.
“Sorry about this guys. I couldn’t really come up with a reason that I couldn’t go without giving it away what I was doing. We could pause and come back to it later?”
Eddie knew the guys would be fine with just calling it here; They’d managed to get far enough along that they knew it would have been a good win for them.
“Nah, you did good. Maybe you can join us for real after Dustin’s birthday campaign,” Jeff said.
Steve beamed back at him.
“Maybe, yeah. If you guys are cool with it.”
Was he…shy?
He was just flirting up a storm! Absolutely taking the lead in a game he’d never played before! And now he was being shy?
“Hell yeah!” They all agreed.
Great, Steve was making friends with his friends.
“Alright!” Steve clapped his hands together. “I’m off to get the kid. Thanks guys!”
He started to leave, but stopped by Eddie.
Then his lips were on the top of Eddie’s head.
“Bye guys!” He said as he continued to walk out.
Eddie’s eyes were wide, unblinking. The guys were all staring at him with the same wide, unblinking eyes.
The front door to the trailer closed.
“Uh,” Eddie said.
“Did he-”
“He just-”
“On your head.”
“Uh.”
The front door opened.
Steve was standing in the doorway to the kitchen area, eyes wide, unblinking.
“Did I-”
“Uh huh,” Eddie answered.
“Oh.”
“Yeah.”
“Is that…okay?”
He was looking nervously between the guys and Eddie, like he expected someone to punch him.
“Oh! Yeah. No, they’re good. Um. Did you want to kiss me?”
“Yeah. I kinda…always do?”
“Always?”
“Yes. It’s kind of all I think about.”
Eddie took it all back; This was the best and he had never been happier that Steve wanted to play D&D.
He didn’t even care about the guys watching as he stood from his chair and walked to Steve in the doorway.
“Me too.”
He pulled Steve against him, ignoring the whistles and cheers from the table, and kissed him.
The kiss left them both breathless, despite being barely more than a peck.
“Um, I should go get Dustin,” Steve whispered.
“Yeah. Come back after?”
“Will everyone still be here?” Steve asked nervously.
“Nope, just you and me, sweetheart,” Eddie replied.
“Good. I’ll be back soon, then.”
When Steve left, Eddie turned back to the group, lovestruck grin on his face.
“So it’s off the table now, right?” Gareth asked, smirking.
“Shut up.”

Word Count: 4185
Eddie felt it; every punch and kick that was being delivered to the man he loved amped him up more as he hunted for Steve.
“Dude, this isn’t fun if he doesn’t fight back.”
“Maybe fucking the freak made him soft.”
His boyfriend’s anger mixed with his own before more pain followed.
“Oh, I see. That’s your button isn’t it, Harrington? Don’t like people making fun of your freak?”
The scenery blurred around the metalhead as the feelings within him became almost too much.
“Fuck. Dude, did you hear that? I think someone might be—”
The boy’s screams echoed as Eddie tackled him, pinning him to the ground before snapping his neck.
“Holy shit. What the fuck? M-Munson?”
The vampire growled, sprinting behind him, and taking ahold of his throat as his fangs dug into his flesh. As the boy’s blood spilled down his throat, Eddie felt some of his anger calm but a hunger he hadn’t even realized was there took over as he guided his victim to the floor and continued to drink till there was nothing left.
“Eddie?”
“Y/N, WAKE UP!”
Your body shot upright with a start as your panicked eyes met Steve’s who was hovering over you with cross as he pointed it Eddie who was now in the corner of their bedroom.
“Wh-What happened?”
“You were having a nightmare.”
“No.”, the vampire growled. “She keeps accessing my memories. It’s not my fault I can fucking feel them. Jesus, this needs to stop.”
“Eddie, I’m so sorry.”
“You didn’t do anything wrong, honey. His blood just needs to run its course. What was it this time?”, Steve asked as he put the cross away and tenderly pet the back of your head.
“I think people were hurting you. Eddie was trying to find you to protect you. God, Steve, it was so strong, the anger and then…the hunger.”
“Explains why he just tried to bite you again.” His eyes met yours as you shifted you gaze. “I heard him growling in his sleep. He shot up like you did but his eyes were that black color.”
“You know I’m really glad we can all play fucking catch up but I’m still fucking hungry.”, Eddie snarled causing the other man to roll his eyes.
“Let me get him a blood bag.”
The long-haired boy smirked as his black eyes scanned you over.
“Why are you so fucking turned on right now?”
“I didn’t just feel the anger and hunger. You really love him don’t you?”
“Yes.”
“You’d do anything to protect him?”
“Always. Same with you, little one.”
“D-Do you love me to, Eddie?”, you whisper. The vampires smirk stretches a bit more making your body shiver in pleasure at the sight. “Do you love me…Daddy?”
“Here. Drink this now and then tonight when we stream, you can take more from me.” The vampire immediately tears open the bag, chugging it back like a beer. “We may want to get you home, Y/N. We don’t want anything to seem out of the ordinary.”
“Arthur…”
“Eddie took care of him and cleaned your house. Do you feel comfortable going back?”
“Yeah, I just…I don’t want to leave you two.”
“How about I come with you? You can get some things including your phone and then I can bring you back here so you can moderate and be with us after.”
***
“Steve?” He answers with a small hm as he continued look at things around your room. “Why did those boys attack you that night you went missing?”
The man sighs as he turns around to face where you were sitting on your bed as he leans against your dresser.
“Small town, small minded people. After Eddie died, those couple months after I was basically numb. I missed him so much Y/N, you have no idea. People would talk behind my back or make fun of me for caring about the ‘devil worshipping freak’. Usually, I can hold myself together but that day just hit me hard. I…I went to his trailer to drown myself in booze and just hide in those memories.”
“Those kids showed up saying they heard the ‘gay music’ and that wasn’t allowed in Hawkins. I tried to leave but that’s when they started hurting me.”
“Why didn’t you try to defend yourself?”
“How do you know I didn’t?”
“I heard one of the boys say that in Eddie’s memory.”
“Jesus. I didn’t realize he heard any of that. Um, honestly, honey… I kinda hoped they would kill me…so I could be with him…”
Rising from your place on the bed, you embraced him and he heavily exhaled as he did the same, resting his chin on your head.
“When I saw him standing there, I thought I had died. I couldn’t believe he was alive.”
“What was that place he woke up from?”
“That’s a bit harder to explain. The best answer I can give you is another world like ours but darker, eviler. We…we went down there to save lives… Can we talk about this more later? I just…”
“No, no. I understand. I felt it when he woke up, not just what you were experiencing but he was so scared something happened to you when he woke up and everything was quiet. For a moment, he thought…you guys had lost…if that makes sense? But then he heard you talking and playing your song… he cares about you a lot.”
That made him smile before his index finger reached under your chin and tilted your head so you could meet his gaze.
“We care about you a lot to. I meant what I said last night. Ever since we first spoke to you, I knew you were different. He always wanted to come find you and bring you to us. After everything that’s happened, I kind of wish I had let him.”
“I’m sorry for being so much trouble…”
“No! No, shit, that’s not what I meant. I just…if you had been with us you never would have gotten this black eye or shot. I hated seeing you in pain.”
“I liked having you take care of me though.”
His eyes scanned your face as his hand cupped your cheek and his thumb caressed your lips.
“I liked having you take care of me to.”
“Steve.”, you moaned his name breathily making him smile above you.
“I can’t wait for Daddy to have you. Trust me, it’s like nothing you’ve ever experienced.”, he whispered. “He was phenomenal before but now…” Steve pauses, his grin growing when he sees you giggle through your teeth. “What are you laughing at, pretty girl?”
“I guess it’s his blood still but I can feel him. Because we’re turned on, he’s turned on and he’s stroking his cock right now.”
“You can feel that?”
“I’m assuming because I feel how I feel when an orgasm is building in my tummy, you know?”
“You feel like you’re gonna cum, honey? Maybe, I can help.”
Licking your lips, you watch as he slides two of his fingers into his mouth, coating them with his saliva as you unbutton your jeans. His palm glides effortlessly through the waistband of your panties and you groan as he pushes his digits into your entrance.
“Fuck. I just stretched you open and you’re still so fucking tight.”
Knowing you were already close to edge, he pumped his fingers at a fast pace, curling them inside of you as he kissed your forehead. Your hand clung to his wrists as your eyes fluttered shut and your hips rolled against his movements.
“That’s it, baby. Use my fingers. Good girl.”, Steve hummed in your ear in a seductive tone that had you clenching. “Cum, honey. I got you.”
Moaning his name, you came with an intensity you had never felt before, your arms shooting out to wrap around him as you pressed your face into his chest.
“It’s ok, Y/N. You’re alright.”
Sliding his hand out of your pants, he blindly buttoned them as you continued to clutch him tightly.
“Well, this is new for me.”, he chuckles. “I mean, normally I’m in this headspace and Eddie takes care of me.” When your eyes look up to meet his, he feels his cock strain against the denim of his jeans. The innocence that reflected back within them was part of what attracted the vampire to you.
You knew nothing of their world they lived yet you allowed yourself to be vulnerable with them and be who they needed. In return, they kept you safe and looked after you. They cared about you. They…
“Do you love me to, Steve?”
His phone aggressively vibrating cut through the moment and he sighed as he flipped it open reading the text his boyfriend just sent.
“You both need to get back here now. Daddy is hungry.”
############
When you guys got back to their place, Eddie had moved some of the cameras around so you could sit at their desk and work while also not being picked up accidently.
“You know, if ever you want me to join you…”
“I know, sweetheart. I just want to have you first before other people get to see you.”
“Not like they can see too much with this grainy webcam.”, Steve states as he comes into the bedroom and throws off his shirt.
“Aw. Do you want them to see you better, Stevie?”, Eddie teases as he tugs his boyfriend to the edge of the bed where he normally sits when they stream and wraps his arms around his chest.
“It’s nice to be seen.” The man reaches for one of his boyfriend’s hands and playfully bites his palm making you smile as you watch them wondering if this was a little glimpse of what they were like before everything happened.
The clock in the room beeps and they both get more serious as you bring the stream to life. Everything starts off normally as you moderate the chat in front of you. No nonsense today besides people inquiring about the new angle of the cameras. Your eyes start to flutter however when you feel your body begin to tingle like it had at your house.
Turning to face them, nothing is unusual as their lips mingle together but you’re surprised when the vampire grips Steve’s shoulder and effortlessly moves him around till he’s lying on his stomach with his head facing the camera. No…not just facing the camera…facing you.
The vampire whispers something to him and the man’s brown eyes find yours as Eddie trails kiss down his back before roughly lifting his hips higher in the air.
When his boyfriend’s tongue invades his entrance, Steve mewls as he bites his bottom lip. Your hands tremble with need as you slide your shorts and underwear down your legs. Making sure he has a good view, you open your legs for him, displaying your soaking cunt as you run your fingers through your slick.
“Fuck, baby. That’s it.”
Eddie crawled back up his body, sliding his own fingers between the boy’s cheeks causing Steve’s face to scrunch in pleasure.
“Is she as tight as you are, sweetheart? Fuck. I can feel how turned on you both are. It drives me crazy.” Two sets of eyes watch you intensely as you slide your digits into you hole, trying to stifle any noise from leaving your lips as Eddie pulls out his own and runs the tip of his cock between Steve’s ass. “Jesus. Are you ready for me, baby?”
“Yes, Daddy. Please.”, he begged.
Your moans mixed in with theirs as Eddie pushed into him, wrapping his arms around his chest as he laid flat on his back while he thrust his hips.
“That’s my good boy. I love you so much. This perfect ass was made for Daddy.”
Their fingers intertwined as yours thrust into your pussy at a faster pace.
“I’m ready, honey. Mmm—take what you need.”
Eddie grunted as he nodded, tenderly kissing Steve’s neck before his mouth opened wider and his fangs dug into his skin.
You felt it immediately. As soon as his blood touched his lips, that euphoria you felt drinking his own blood coursed through your veins. It was so strong, your body slid to the floor as you tried to ride your own fingers harder to satisfy the feeling to no avail.
Your vision blurred as you watched the bed shake and listened to their moans as Steve practically screamed telling you he came. You waited for the second release but no sound followed.
The wind blew around you as the cameras beeped off, your body was abruptly lifted, and you were tossed next to Steve whose glassy half lidded eyes met yours. You barely had time to register what was happening as your legs your lifted around Eddie’s waist and his cock pushed inside you.
“Eddie!”, you squealed as his hips thrust aggressively into yours hitting that spot inside of you that you couldn’t reach with your fingers.
The vampire growled loudly, baring his fangs as black eyes stared menacingly into yours.
“D-Daddy. I’m sorry. You…just feel so good. Please don’t stop.”
He growled again much lower than before as he continued to pump his cock into you with rough abandon. Eddie’s head fell within the nook of your neck and your fingers tangled in his hair as you held him to you.
“You can—oh my god—you can take from me to, baby. Anything you need.”
“Ed—Eddie…wait…”, Steve tried to get his attention but the man was too far gone and when your head turned to face his he knew it.
“It’s ok, Steve. I’m ok.” Your reached out to hold his hand as he limply scooted forward to kiss your lips.
Your pussy clenched around him as Eddie’s teeth grazed your flesh, wincing when they punctured the skin. The fingers you had in his hair tightened as you felt the blood drain from your body. You had never felt anything as good as this before as your eyes rolled and the tingles within your body amplified to what felt like a burning degree.
“Y-Yes, Daddy. Harder. Please!”
The bed once again began to shake as he did what you asked, rolling his hips aggressively into you as he abused your g-spot over and over. His large palm cupped your cheek as he held your head still, grunting and growling as your walls continued to suck him in.
Your body trembled underneath his as you came harder than you ever had before, your face contorting in pain and pleasure when he released your throat and fucked you through your orgasm. Chasing his own high, he placed his forehead on yours as his hands tenderly petted your head.
“Yes.”, he panted against your lips in a gruff tone. “Yes. I love you, princess.”
You tried to wrap your arms around him but you could barely move. All you were able to do was tilt your head so you could gently kiss him while he thrust into you till you felt him release his seed into your cunt.
“I…I love you to, Eddie.”
Carefully sliding out of you, he quickly disappeared and returned with water, a wash rag, and a snack.
“Steve?”
You rolled to your side, his fingers slightly twitching in your hand to tell you he was listening even though his eyes were closed.
“I love you to.”
The boy smiled drunkenly as Eddie lifted you both up and leaned your backs against the headboard as he cleaned your bodies.
“I love you to, pretty girl. Eddie loves you to even though he won’t admit it.”
“I literally just did, you dork.”
“Hey, hey. Don’t be mean.”, his boyfriend chastised with a smirk.
“Here. You two eat this please.” You and Steve giggled like kids as you took the power bars from his hands and nibbled on the ends. “Shit. I think I’m going to have to give you two a bath because this rag isn’t going to do a damn thing. Do you think you both can walk?”
The human boy tries and immediately falls backwards, his head landing in your lap. As Eddie got up to help him, he paused as he watched you gently run your fingers through his hair as he continued to grin. The vampire sighed in pleasure at your action loving the little things you did to show that you cared. It had been so long since anyone had touched or even talked to them kindly and he loved even more that they were getting to experience things like this again through you.
“Am I in the bathtub already?”
“Jesus, no Steven. You are weirdest inebriated person I have ever meant and you aren’t even drunk or high.” Eddie lifts him into his arms and carries him into the bathroom, leaning him against the wall.
“I am high… on you.” The metalhead rolls his eyes as Steve pokes his nose, trying to hide the smile that wants to push through. He turns with the intention of coming to get you to find that you were already leaning against the other wall of the bathroom.
“I could have carried you. Are you ok?”
“Yeah.”, you sigh as you gesture absently. “Not the first time I’ve had to move during blood loss and it probably won’t be the last.”
The vampire listened to you two talk as he got the bath ready.
“Hey. The last time you were bleeding, you were flat on a table ma’am. No movement required.”
“Hm. Bled a few times growing up. M’mom is in jail remember?” Steve’s eyes became sad as he scanned your face. “Also boyfriends like John. Besides that night, had you ever gotten into a fight, Stevie?”
“Pfft, yeah a few. Once over a girl, another to protect some kids I was looking after…and then some Russian soldiers beat the shit out of me. That was fun.”
You looked at him with confusion as Eddie guided him into the water before coming to do the same with you.
“Yeah, I know. It sounds far-fetched but he’s telling the truth. We started dating a little after that particular incident so yeah.”
Holding your arm, he helps you down and you exhale as you lean your back against Steve’s chest while Eddie sits on the edge of the tub to clean you both.
“What about you?”, you ask.
“Ah, no fights for me, princess. I mean, no fights with people. I tried fighting a hoard of bats but obviously that didn’t end well.”
“And your dad?”
“Um, yeah that never ended well either.” His eyes glazed over a bit as he focused on the task before him but paused when your hand touched his.
“I’m sorry, baby.”
Flashing you a soft smile, he cleared his throat as he rose to his feet.
“Alright, I’m going to go change the sheets. Do you think you two can remain coherent till I come back.”
“Yes, DAD.”, Steve sassed making you giggle as he wrapped his arms around you and pulled you tighter to him.
################
You hide under your dinner table you used to have in your parent’s house when you were little. Your mother is screaming again as she searches for you.
“Where the fuck are you, you ungrateful brat?! Do you really think you’re any better for them? Always causing problems! Trust me, babe, they’d be better off without you.”
You jump when you feel a palm touch your bicep.
“Whoa. Sorry.”, Steve whispers. “I didn’t mean to scare you. What are we hiding from?”
You point towards the kitchen as your mother’s shadow passes along the tablecloth.
“Hey, what did we say, baby girl? You’re safe with us.”, Eddie beamed as he pushed some of your hair back behind your ear.
“But are you safe with me?”
Your eyes flew open as you clutched your chest.
“You know, some people just sleep at night.”, Eddie teases as he fully sits up beside you. “Are you alright?” When you nodded, his palm gently reached up to pet your head. “What were you dreaming about? It felt…sad.”
“You don’t know already?”
“I mean, I know it wasn’t one of my memories because you’ve only been dreaming about things that happened after I changed. What I felt right now…I haven’t felt since I was a little kid and my dad would come home drunk.”
“I was dreaming about my mom. When I was kid I used to hide under the dining room table while her and my dad would fight. That’s where I was with you two and…”
“And what?”
“I’m not putting you two in danger am I? I just…with everything that happened and Steve’s fears of you two needing to run again—”
Eddie silenced you by placing his fingers on your lips, wrapping his arm around your shoulder, and bringing you down to lay with your head on his chest. He sighed before telling you his story of a girl named Chrissy who died violently in his trailer and a town that tried to hunt him down for it claiming he was a devil worshipping freak. He explained about an evil being named Vecna who was actually murdering these people and he, Steve, and some others went down to that scary world to stop him.
Eddie told you about the bats he and his friend Dustin were meant to distract so Steve and his friends could get into a house to destroy this being.
His tone became shakier as he talked about buying more time so they could succeed and the battle he faced when he didn’t run away. The feeling of the bats pinning him to the ground and tearing into his flesh.
“The last thing I thought about was Steve. It was like…a montage of our relationship. I just wanted to go back to how things used to be before the murders when we would lay in bed and talk about leaving our stupid town.”, he heavily exhales, kissing your palm as it reaches up to caress his face.
“After I saved him, Steve told me we needed to run. That they still placed the blame on me even though they couldn’t find me. If they found out I wasn’t dead, bad things would happen. Y/N, after everything we’ve been through, these past two days have been nothing. I know that we’re all safe here but Steve always worried we may need to run again. He lost me once, he says… you’re not putting us in any kind of danger, sweetheart. If anything…now we’re putting you in danger.”
“I’m not afraid of you or things that come with you. I meant what I said. I love you both… I want to help and be there for you two anyway I can.”
Eddie smiled as he kissed your forehead.
“I wasn’t too rough with you was I?”
“No. The biting hurt at first but after…when you started draining me… fuck.”
His chest shook as he laughed making you smile as you held him tighter.
“I guess because you still had my blood inside you, you felt what I feel when I’m fucking him.” Lightly but firmly, Eddie tugged your hair back, placing his lips on yours. “You both feel amazing.”
“How much of Eddie was there? You seemed kind of gone.”
“I was there, sweetheart. The vampire kind of took over a bit but, trust me, I was there.”
Rolling on to his side, he kept his arm under your head as his other hand came up to touch your cheek while his eyes ran along your face.
“Next time, I’ll move a bit slower so I can really watch this beautiful face while my cock is stretching you open. Steve was right, you are tight but you took me so well.”
“Y-You felt good. No one’s ever been that deep before except…”
“Steve?” The vampire grins when you nod. “I know how you feel. The first time we were together, I swore I could feel him everywhere.”
“When did he start calling you Daddy?”
His thumb runs along your bottom lip as his now chocolate-colored irises continue to study you, watching as your chest rises and falls as you breathe nervously.
“A couple of months after we started dating, he said he had a fantasy. Steve always felt like he needed to be in control and just wanted to BE controlled in bed.” As you kiss the pad of his finger, he delicately placed it between your lips, his smile growing when your tongue ran along the flesh. “Is that what you need to, sweetheart? Do you need to be taken care of?”
When you nod your head again, he withdraws his thumb and leans over to passionately kiss your lips. Without releasing his hold on the back of your neck, he pulls away, and grazes his noses along yours, panting against your open mouth.
“Can you say it, baby?”
“I need you to take care of me, Daddy.”

Steddie Time Travel Fixit: Pt. 6
Ao3 Pt. 1 Pt. 2 Pt. 3 Pt. 4 Pt. 5 Pt. 6 Pt. 7
Steve wears the Hellfire shirt.
He wears it half tucked in to a pair of tight distressed jeans with black lace-up shitkicker boots, both of which Eddie knows Steve has never worn to school before because he would have fucking remembered.
His hair is just as stupidly teased as usual, but paired with the rest of him it looks a whole lot less preppy and a whole lot more like he should have a cigarette tucked behind his ear and a leather jacket over his shoulder.
And Eddie knows that he should be focused on whatever the hell is happening with the kids and Hopper and the fact that Steve apparently has war flashbacks involving D&D characters but all that mystery falls to the wayside when the former reigning jock king is walking around the hallways like a living breathing wet dream in a shirt Eddie created.
Eddie is but a man.
Distractible.
Fallible.
Horny.
Steve catches him staring from down the hall and gives him a lazy two finger salute, grinning with the kind of ease that comes from being attractive and knowing it.
It should be infuriating.
It is not.
“Is this a dream?” Gareth says, drawing even with Eddie. “This has to be a dream, right? No way is Steve fucking Harrington wearing a Hellfire shirt.”
“I don’t know about you,” Eddie says faintly, “but if this was my dream he wouldn’t be wearing anything at all.”
“Oh, gross.”
“Look at him,” Eddie insists. Ever since that time at Jeff’s last year when the band was all high and Eddie got a little too honest, they’ve all sort of ignored the fact that Eddie is gay. They don’t ask him about girls and he doesn’t talk to them about guys. But this is…a special circumstance.
And it’s fine. Because Eddie is not the only person looking. Everyone is looking—some with sneers or confusion but most with envy or probably equal amounts of the lust that Eddie is currently trying to subdue. Even the straightest guy in the world has to admit that Steve is—
“Yeah,” Gareth says. “I  mean no, still gross because it’s Harrington,  but yeah I can see how—no. Never mind. I’m going to class.” Gareth pauses. “Wait. Do you think he’s going to sit with us at lunch?”
He sits with them at lunch.
Eddie more or less sleepwalks through his morning classes and leaves History before the bell so he can get to the lunchroom first and he does not save Steve a seat. He has no expectations when he enters the cafeteria. No hopes related to the company he’ll keep while consuming his soggy PB&J. He just has a jacket that ends up on the seat next to him and when Jeff tries to move it he maybe glares at him a little.
When Steve moves the jacket so he can sit down, Eddie does not glare.
“Fucking figures,” Jeff mutters.
Eddie is never going to live this down and he doesn’t even care.
“Nice shirt, big boy,” he says, because apparently Eddie’s mouth is just saying things.
Steve stills. For a moment, Eddie is reminded of the night before–of terror and gasped breathing. But then, just as quickly, he’s grinning at Eddie like some sort of sunshine creature, like joy incarnate, plucking at the tight fabric straining across his chest.
“I dunno, I don’t think I’m particularly big, it’s not my fault you gave me such a small size.”
“Well, beggars can’t be choosers,” Eddie retorts.“Everyone who signed up at the beginning of the year got one custom made,” he gestures to the guys as proof before drumming his fingers against Steve’s shoulder. “This’s one of mine and the most exercise I get is hauling amps and running from cops.”
Steve reaches over to wrap his hand around Eddie’s bicep and it’s Eddie’s turn to go still under the heat of his palm and the weight of his attention. Steve meets his eyes for a fleeting second before they flick down to his own fingers. Steve squeezes.
“You seem plenty fit to me.”
“Amps,” Eddie repeats. It’s a little breathless. It’s fine.
“Jesus christ,” Jeff mutters.
Steve’s hand is still on his arm when nearly half the basketball team approaches, detouring to stop on their way to their standard table.
He wouldn’t say that a hush falls over the cafeteria but there are certainly a lot of eyes suddenly on their table. And not much talking.
“What the fuck, Harrington,” one of them––Eddie doesn’t know, nor does he care to know, his name––says. “You ditched us for the freaks?” He looks genuinely baffled, which Eddie has to admit is fair. “Is this some kind of joke? Does Munson have something on you?”
Steve leans away from the table, hand moving from Eddie’s arm to the back of his chair, he hitches his opposite elbow on the back of his own chair. He kicks one foot up to brace on the table leg.  It’s the stereotypical jock position: chest wide, staking a possessive claim, except Eddie isn’t a cheerleader.
“I don’t like what you’re implying,”  Steve says.
“Dude, whatever it is,” the guy’s eyes linger on Eddie in a way that Eddie really does not like, “we can take care of it.”
Steve sighs.
It’s long and loud and purposeful.
“Listen, I feel like maybe Hagan hasn’t held up his end of our bargain, so let me make this as clear as I can and we can all be mature about it. Ah––” he interrupts himself, raising his voice a little, “No, hey. Look at me. All of you.”  His tone is calm and level and patronizing in a way that Eddie knows would be infuriating if it was directed at him.
“I need you to understand,” he says slowly, making eye contact with each of them in turn, “That I’m not joking. I’m not posturing. If you touch Eddie, if you touch anyone at this table, you’re going to have a lot more to worry about than passing your driving test or making the starting lineup. There are people in the world with real problems and if you fuck with any of my new friends, you’re going join them.”
A couple scoff. Tommy, near the back, is distinctly silent. And without their usual ringleader, no one else volunteers to step forward as the aggressor.
“What happened to you, man?” One of the guys says instead.
Steve sighs again. It feels more genuine this time. “I grew up,” he says. “I recommend it.”
And then he just…waves them off, like he’s tired.
And they leave.
The group retreats to their own table in a wake of low murmurs, and everyone lets out a collective exhale.
Except for Steve, who is leaning into Eddie’s space again.
“You were weirdly quiet through that, Steve murmurs, pushing Eddie’s hair over his shoulder so he can whisper in his ear. It’s an entitled gesture. The heat of his breath, fanned against Eddie’s neck, sends goosebumps down his arms.
“If I’m mouthy, it tends to just piss people off,” Eddie mutters back. “And I’m trying not to cause trouble for you seeing as you seem to create plenty for yourself.”
“Do what you want,” Steve says easily. “I know how to fight.”
Eddie tells his dick to calm the fuck down.
Now is not the time.
“Besides,” Steve whispers, even quieter, lips practically against Eddie’s ear, “I think I prefer you mouthy.”
Fuck.
This is flirting, right? It has to be flirting.
He makes frantic eye contact with Jeff and––yeah, judging by the expression on Jeff’s face Eddie is not making shit up. Steve Harrington is hitting on him. In the school cafeteria.
“Oh hey,” Steve says abruptly, turning to pull a Tupperware container out of his stuffed full backpack. “I made cookies last night if you guys want some.”
“Cookies?” Gareth says faintly.
“Yeah, peanut butter chocolate chip. The kids I babysit wanted some so I made a double batch to share. They’re good, I promise. And I substituted applesauce for some of the sugar and oil so they’re not as unhealthy as they could be––but don’t tell the kids that.”
He peels off the lid and Eddie is hit with the second-most heavenly smell he’s ever encountered. The first may or may not be Steve Harrington himself, who is now handing him one of the cookies. Eddie takes it wordlessly, watching as Steve stands to carry the container around to everyone else.
Gareth leans across the table so only Eddie can hear him. “How confused is your boner right now?” Gareth whispers.
Eddie suppresses a slightly hysterical whine. “Oh, are we talking about this? We don’t need to talk about this.”
“I think we’re going to have to if he keeps this shit up.”
“No,” Eddie says. “No, no. I’ll be fine. I just need to…get my head straight.”
“Good luck with that.” Gareth takes a bite of his cookie, “Oh, damn, these are good.”
Eddie eats his own cookie and tries not to moan about it.
He’s fine. Everything is fine.
••••
Steve Harrington is good at D&D.
Eddie had been worried, at first, that Steve might not take things seriously. That he’d laugh at their silly voices or make fun of the guys who wear costumes or just…make it clear that he thought they were ridiculous. Childish.
Instead, he maybe takes things too seriously––asking detailed questions about terrain and weather patterns and doing so many perception checks that Jeff is about ready to strangle him an hour in, but his overly cautious approach uncovers more than one trap Eddie had set. Steve is excellent at strategy and disconcertingly good at organizing the party when there’s something to fight. Even more disconcerting, most of his strategies appear to involve martyrdom and it’s only through Eddie fudging his combat rolls a little that Steve’s character survives the night.
He’s not perfect, of course. Steve’s math skills are abysmal and he constantly has to be reminded what his modifiers are, which Eddie does gently and without complaint, because he’d copied down Steve’s stats the night before and he doesn’t want Steve to be embarrassed. The guys will definitely never, ever, let him live it down, but he figures he’s already lost so much credibility with them at this point a little more won’t be the end of the world.
And Steve keeps smiling at him, so.
Worth it.
When Steve’s watch alarm goes off, a minute before 7pm, he makes a hasty exit for the bathroom, bag in hand, and the other guys decide he must have some sort of medication he has to take and he didn’t want to do it in front of them. Eddie doesn’t correct them, doesn’t know how he would even try to correct the assumption because he doesn’t actually understand what Steve is doing. But it does remind him that there is a Mystery afoot and Eddie really should be trying to figure out what the hell is going on instead of just…mooning over Harrington’s pretty face.
Then again, nothing is stopping him from doing both.
The guys warm to Steve by the end of the session, patting his back and calling goodbye as they exit the doors under the external halogen lights.
The night is quiet and cool and when Steve offers to drive Eddie home, Eddie can only say yes. Eddie slides into the passenger seat, tossing his backpack into the back, and decides to take the opportunity to snoop. He opens the glove compartment and pulls out the handful of cassettes inside.
“Oh,” Steve says, “wait, that’s not––”
There’s Dio and Metallica, Iron Maiden and Motorhead, and then the artists Eddie suspected all along: Madonna, A-ha, Donna Summer, ABBA, Journey, The Eagles and—oh.
Fleetwood Mac. With Landslide on the B side.
It’s shiny and new. No scuffs on the case.
“Shit,” Steve mutters under his breath.
“When did you even have time to get this?” Eddie asks, baffled. And maybe he shouldn’t assume, maybe he’s completely off-base, but Steve looks like he’s been caught doing something illegal so he thinks the assumption is apt. “You left our place at like 10pm last night and you’ve been in school all day.”
“I have a free period before lunch. The record store is a five minute drive from campus.”
“But…why?”
“I don’t know,” Steve says, with the soft resignation of someone lying. It sounds more like, “I can’t tell you,” which makes Eddie want to shake him.
Eddie considers Steve’s shadowed face: his downturned mouth and his stupidly long eyelashes. He looks tired.
Eddie exhales. “Well, we’re listening to it.”
Steve doesn’t argue.
He doesn’t say anything else at all until they get to the trailer and he’s hurrying around to open Eddie’s door for him and get his bag from the backseat like Eddie is some girl he’s dropping off after a date.
“Oh wait,” he says, ducking back to grab his own bag. “I have—hold on, it’s—there we go.”
He emerges with another tupperware container in his hands, this one smaller than the one he passed around at lunch.
“I thought Wayne might want some,” he says shyly, eyes on the cookies in his hands. “As a thank you. For yesterday.”
Eddie is going to scream.
“That’s really nice. I’m sure he’ll love them, and if he doesn’t I’ll eat them because apparently you’ve been possessed by Betty Crocker’s ghost. Or—actually I don’t know if she’s dead or not. Or if she was a real person. Anyway, the point is that—“
Steve is smiling at him. Softly. Like he’d be happy to listen to Eddie ramble as long as he wants.
Eddie clears his throat. “Wayne should be home if you want to give them to him.”
“Yeah, sure. I’ll, uh, walk you in.”
So much screaming.
Steve does walk him in, hands over the cookies to a baffled-looking Wayne, and then touches Eddie’s hand—hardly a touch at all really, his first two fingers resting, briefly, on Eddie’s wrist, his thumb tucked just under the meat of Eddie’s palm, almost like he’s checking Eddie’s pulse.
“Goodnight,” he says.
Eddie doesn’t even know if he responds.
He’s still looking down at his wrist when Steve’s car engine starts and the headlights fan over the windows before everything goes dark and still outside.
“So,” Wayne says. “Is he…”
“What?” Eddie asks blankly.
 “...your sweetheart?”
That’s enough to break Eddie out of whatever trance he’d been in. “My–? Jesus. No. You know who you’re talking about, right?”
“I know what I’m seeing,” Wayne mutters. “Not sure I’m happy about it.”
Eddie’s stomach immediately goes sour. They’ve never actually discussed Eddie’s romantic preferences. Wayne knew. He had to know, considering the circumstances in which Wayne became Eddie’s guardian. But they’ve never said anything out loud to each other and Eddie was hoping to continue that tradition potentially for forever.
“Wait,” Wayne says, moving forward to squeeze his shoulder, “I didn’t mean––fuck, you know I’m no good at this shit. Come sit down.”
They move to the couch.
They sit.
Wayne digs the heels of his palms into his eyes.
“I don’t care who you’re sweet on or who you bring home, you hear me? As long as they treat you right and they don’t get you into trouble. But that Harrington boy… I get the feeling he’s trouble. And with his folks being who they are, I just want you to be careful. That boy has a history and I don’t know what it is, but I’d wager it isn’t pretty.”
“I don’t know what it is either,” Eddie murmurs. “He’s not––I don’t think he’s bad trouble, though. He’s trying to protect me. Us. At school. Even though it’s put a giant target on his back. He’s quit basketball and joined Hellfire and he’s. I don’t know. I like him.” It feels like a confession.
“I wonder how his Daddy feels about all that,” Wayne murmurs. “You ever seen him come to school hurt?”
Eddie considers. “I don’t know. Why?”
Wayne just looks at him.
“You think his parents––?”
“I think I know the kind of boy his father was. I can imagine the sort of man he turned into.”
Eddie feels chilled all the sudden. He gets up from the couch to close the open window above the sink. It doesn’t help. He rests his hands, fingers splayed, on the countertop. He taps his nails on the fornica.
Abuse wouldn’t explain the kids or the panic attack or why he suddenly seems obsessed with Eddie. But it would explain some things.
“I’m not going to start avoiding him,” Eddie says.
Wayne sighs. “I didn’t expect you would. Considering.”
Eddie doesn’t ask him to elaborate.
He holds up the container of cookies Wayne had abandoned on the counter, then carries them over to the couch when he nods.
Wayne selects the largest one from the top. “Did he actually play your dragons game?”
Eddie nearly chokes on a laugh, helping himself to a cookie as well. “He did. Wasn’t half bad, either.”
Wayne takes a bite. His eyebrows go up. “Shit, did he make these?”
“He did,” Eddie says.
“Well. I suppose we can keep him around.”

Steve getting Venca’d is a plot line I thoroughly enjoy, but I feel like there is a path I haven’t really seen taken yet. Like, I’ve seen canon divergence where he gets vecna’d instead of Max, or he takes Max’s place, or I’ve seen it written as a season five (with Eddie back, of course), but hear me out, hear me out…
What if Steve starts the symptoms of Vecna (kind of like Vecna’s backup plan), but Steve never gets used? Like, they do their original plan in season four. Steve doesn’t really notice his symptoms until it’s too late; they are already in deep with spring break. Steve thinks about volunteering in Max’s place, but he knows if he says something, then the party has two people to worry about, and he knows Max would be too stubborn to change the plan. So he proceeds on. They go forth with the plan (Steve gets some horrible visions throughout spring break but manages to keep it to himself. Eddie notices something is off but is too focused on not dying to ask questions), and everything works out kind of the same as before except they win and everyone makes it (Eddie and max are still messed up, close to death but they make it).
After a few weeks (months probably), everyone is starting to heal and move on, but Steve just can’t. He’s still really messed up from his visions. The way they manipulated his trauma (about his parents, about being valued only with sex and money, Nancy, the kids, and his sexuality). It haunts him every day. He didn’t die like the other teens. He didn’t get to confront it like Max. Steve is just stuck in this mental hell and doesn’t know how to move on. Doesn’t know who to talk to. If he even should talk to anyone.
At this point, I feel like Eddie and Robin would notice him slipping. Robin is his platonic soulmate, his capital P, she may be frazzled, but she would most definitely notice when her best friend is not himself. Robin gives him space at first, but she can tell it’s only getting worse and decides it’s time to do something.
And Eddie, despite how much his past self would beat him over the head for it, likes Steve. He’s a good guy. Saves Eddie’s ass more times than he can count, even after the whole Upside Down thing. He likes to spend time with Steve; actually, almost all his time that isn’t spent with the kids and Wayne he spends with Steve, so of course, he notices Steve wasting away. Eddie noticed that Steve only really perks up when everyone is together in one place (Also, Eddie only has like slight romantic feelings for him at this point; his motivations at first are purely innocent, but as time moves on, he starts to fall for Steve and vice versa). So Eddie decides to spend more time with him one on one. Give him a safe space.
I’m not really sure how the rest of the plot would go. The party definitely gets involved, but they don’t notice for a while and make it worse at times (they are kids, after all), and the adults do their part too. I also think it’s an opportunity to talk about everyone’s unresolved trauma, like it doesn’t all go away magically after the defeat of the big bad. I think Steve having unresolved vecna visions is a perfect example of that.
Give Steve the breakdown he deserves and the support he clearly needs. And, of course, make it Steddie.
———
maybe I’ll write it, I’ve got so much to write, but maybe I’ll DO IT.

My current obsession for Steve having his sexuality crisis in canon doesn’t involve the Robin speech. I love Robin, I am Robin, but she deserves rest, god dammit. And I have come up with a great way for her to get her rest and to be a supportive friend.
————————-
Steve and her are having movie night (is this post Eddie, is this pre Eddie, doesn’t really matter but because I love steddie I am doing post Eddie) and Steve got to pick so they’re watching Grease.
Robin hates Grease, even if the music is fun, she just finds it tacky and cliche. She won’t deny the appeal of Sandy’s leather outift at the end though.
Steve loves Grease. The music is fun and since he met Robin she’s been slowly, and very subtly, pushing him to allow himself to enjoy things that his father forced him to hate. (Am I including my Steve likes make up headcanon in this? Absolutely.) She’s gone shopping with him and encouraged him to try on the sweaters in softer colors he always stares at but never touches. He starts growing out his hair. Robin has been a breath of fresh air since they met and she has always pushed him without making it obvious so he doesn’t panic.
The next opportunity for her brand of eye opening comes when they get to Greased Lightning. They’re both pretty tipsy and Steve randomly blurts out. “Wow he’s hot.” Robin actual chokes on her mouth full of popcorn and has to chug her beer to wash it down.
“I’m sorry, what?” Steve looks at Robin with a frown, raising an eyebrow.
“What? I said he was hot, because he is.”
“Steve that’s- since when do you notice attractive men?” He’s still frowning at her, as if she’s asking completely ridiculous questions
“I mean, always? It’s just something guys do, they can recognize when a guy is hot and whatever.” Robin just blinks, then blinks again before nodding to herself. She knows what she has to do, so she says okay and they go back to watching the movie.
The next time she’s at Steve’s she brings the magazine she had bought in Chicago a couple years ago. She had found this tiny store that sold a ton of gay media and it was like being in heaven. This particular magazine had a lot of quotes from people about their experiences growing up queer and she knows for a fact that there is one story in there that should shake something loose in Steve. So she leaves the magazine on his bed when she goes to steal a sweater from him. Robin hears nothing for two days after that when at 11:30 at night she hears the pinging of rocks at her window. Rolling her eyes, she gets up and opens the window, and then sure enough in pops Steve a moment later, clambering his way inside her bedroom.
“I think I might like guys. I um… actually, I think I might like Eddie? Which might be why I thought John Travolta was so hot suddenly, because sure I’ve thought he was good looking but not like crazy insane hot before. Then suddenly we’re watching Grease and Danny Zuko is all kinds of hot, and then I found this magazine, I think you left it at mine accidentally. But it had all these stories and there was this one guy who said he had always noticed attractive men growing up but he thought that was just what all guys thought, he liked girls so he wasn’t gay, but then he met a particular guy and they ended up kissing and he realized that he maybe liked boys more than he should and when he asked someone else about guys noticing attractive men they said that is not what straight guys do and he realized that he wasn’t straight at all. And then I started thinking because that’s how I’ve always felt, right? But I didn’t think I was gay, but apparently you can actually like both so I don’t have to be gay to like guys, and then I started thinking about Grease which made me think about Eddie and, oh god, Robin, I think I might be in love with him?”
She knew the magazine would help, but not this much. She also had never heard Steve speak so much at once, they had clearly been spending too much time together if he was rambling like that.
“Okay, Steve, take a deep breath. Are you coming out to me right now?” He stops his frantic pacing that he had started as soon as her window was shut, staring at her for a second before collapsing on the bed next to her.
“I think so? The magazine said bi-bicy-bisen-“
“Bisexual?” Steve snaps and points at her with a grin.
“Yeah, that! I didn’t know that was even a thing! It just… it feels like everything makes a little more sense to me, y’know?” She smiled, ruffling his hair.
“And the Eddie thing?” Robin cackles when Steve flushes bright red.
“Shut up! I actually think I might be in love with him and I don’t know what to do. Like, I know he’s gay but I don’t know if he likes me.”
“Steve, he has been flirting with you since you two met in March.”
“What?!??” She dissolves into giggles and they spend the night together, talking about every interaction he’s ever had with Eddie.
A week has barely gone by when Steve comes into work, his hair a mess, with a giant smile and his neck covered in bruises.
“I think I have a boyfriend.” Robin just collapses into a fit of laughter. She’s so glad the magazine trick worked because she’s never seen Steve this happy.

Just curious and i like hearing your thoughts on this stuff. May i ask what aspect of steddie fanon you're referring to (which don't fit IRL queer culture so accurately)?
Ahaha...okay so. IMPORTANT NOTE: fandom is not that crucial, do whatever you want, run free through daisy fields of whatever headcanons and characterizations you please. Also, fic is not real life and that's okay!!
That being said, fandom can get slightly weird about sex, especially queer sexual cultures and especially historical queer sexual cultures. I mean, I get it! Our current hegemonic understanding of sexuality is actually pretty recent; I studied sexuality from a sociological perspective as part of my undergrad degree, focusing on moral panics (gosh I wonder why Eddie's character arc appeals to me! so mysterious!), and I know just enough to know that I don't know shit. So I certainly don't expect anyone to be doing paradigm-shifting sociohistorical research for a fic. That would be ridiculous.
All of this is leading up to say that based on 1) the relayed experiences of queer mentors who were in the scene in the 80s 2) the secondary sources I’ve researched 3) personally having many gay male friends who love oversharing through the last ~15 years, I believe that if canon-compliant gay Eddie Munson is a virgin, it’s largely by choice.
I've seen it suggested that Eddie's poor academic performance and nerdy interests would be, essentially, a dick deterrent. And like...I enjoy Eddie’s weirdo loser vibe as much as the next fan. I fully support him not being in any way smooth or cool with boys. But even when I myself was in my late teens/early twenties, many of my closest friends were awkward nerdy twinks who absolutely managed to get laid every weekend because MSM* hookup culture is eternal.
And in the early 80s, when Eddie would’ve been in his late teens, MSM hookup culture was at its peak. AIDS still wasn’t being taken that seriously, and transmission etc. wasn’t really understood because…well, you know this story. It’s not a good story. Fuck Reagan.
In short, I really can’t emphasize enough how certain types of sexual contact were extremely available for men seeking sex with men. A pretty young thing like Eddie could have literally as much sex as he wanted. Nobody is asking him for a high school transcript or anything about his hobbies, they’re asking if he tops.
Now, would Eddie actually participate in the hookup culture of the time? That's a more complicated and speculative question, and not actually what you asked, but I'm going to talk about it briefly anyway.
In the 'yes' column: he has his own vehicle**, zero supervision, and a penchant for risky behavior.
In the 'no' column: the boy has at least three extremely involved hobbies eating up his spare time and energy; he's also a not-so-secret romantic.
Personally, I can see the pseudo-intimacy appealing to Eddie's tendency to keep people at arm's length, and I think it’s very plausible for him to be curious and experimental enough to want to explore a bit. I tend to land on 'tried it a few times, doesn't make a habit of it' in my backstories. I also tend to hint at the softer, friendlier side of hookup culture in my fics, just because I don’t often see it represented.
Of course it’s like any other scene, there are bad actors and generally shitty people/situations, and sometimes the MSM scene specifically can be a bit of a soul-draining meat market. (ETA, because I am not white and neither are the vast majority of my friends and I felt increasingly weird not mentioning it even though it's not relevant to Eddie's situation: the scene is often also super racist, among other things! But that's a whooole other complicated kettle of fish, and again, not relevant to Eddie's situation.)
But there’s also space for casual sex to be part of a friendly relationship, in a way that I don’t really see in hetero circles. It’s hard to explain. It’s one of those dynamics that basically never shows up in mainstream media at all, so I absolutely don’t blame fics that don’t show it either. It’s just one of those things.
This is a step to the left, but I recommend checking out Dykes To Watch Out For: it’s practically an anthropological document depicting dyke culture in the 80s, it’s often funny as hell, and it’s just a fantastically detailed and relatively accessible window into a particular way of life that doesn’t really exist anymore.
*MSM = men who have sex with men. It’s a sociological designation; not everyone in this category identifies as gay, bi, queer, etc. It may be useful to think about sexuality as having three distinct components: behavior, identity, and desire. The term “MSM” puts focus on the behavioral aspect, because it’s most relevant in this context.
**As someone who has experienced several other countries' driving cultures, I just want to emphasize to non-Americans how willing many Americans are to drive for multiple hours for basically any reason whatsoever.

Steddie Flower Shop / Tattoo Parlor AU
I still cannot believe the reception this has got! This is only my second fan work ever and I am so excited y’all are interested! Thank you so much for all the comments, likes, and reblogs! Here’s the awaited bar scene (unfortunately not at Murray’s)!
Updates are going to get a little longer since the action is starting to pick up! c:
I Part One I Part Two I Part Three I Part Four I Also on AO3!
***
“Earth to Munson!” Chrissy said as she snapped her fingers in front of Eddie’s face after he had basically collapsed on the floor of the shop.
“Please leave me alone. I’m trying to leave the material plane so I don’t have to make up an excuse as to why I can’t get drinks with Steve and Robin.”
“Nope. We’re going. Robin texted me about it already,” Chrissy replied.
“Since when do you have Robin’s number?” Eddie asked. Eddie had barely interacted with her since she mostly stayed on Steve’s side of the street.
“Someone has to have sense when you and Steve are involved.”
“Chrissy I swear to god if you have ratted me out–” Eddie started.
“Chill. I haven’t said a word about your weird thing where you won’t ask out a guy who literally has a pride flag in his shop window because you’re worried he’s straight,” Chrissy said. This was a well worn argument between the two of them. Eddie wouldn’t admit to Chrissy that it was easier to put Steve in his straight + unattainable file than deal with the little floaty feeling he gets every time Harrington trots into the flower shop. “Also, just quick question, why did Steve leave with like way fancier flowers than he pays for?”
“You don’t know shit about flowers, Cunningham,” Eddie grumbled.
“I resent that. I have been studying,” Chrissy answered. “But you know what I do know about, Munson, our pricing model.”
“I will fire you”
“You wouldn’t know how.”
“Ugh. Fine. Why do we have to go hang out with the hipsters again?” Eddie asked.
“Because. You need more friends. It’ll be good for you. Think of it like a cultural exchange program,” Chrissy said as she finished organizing the work bench with tomorrow’s orders. “And I’m not letting you put us in the red because you can’t flirt with your words and give the pretty boy you like our expensive shit.”
Eddie would have liked to argue. He would have liked to push back and say “oh, no Chrissy, that’s not at all what happened” but that was basically exactly what happened. Of course Eddie had known that Steve’s shop had officially been open for a month. Eddie might not know how to fire nosy coworkers but he did know how long Harrington had been picking up orders. It had taken a while for the tattoo parlor to open up after Eddie first spied the pretentious couch. Eddie wasn’t sure why Steve had decided to open in January in the middle of the worst of Chicago’s winter but it seemed to be working for him.
“Alright, we are done for the day but we are taking you upstairs and finding you a better shirt first, kid,” Chrissy said as she pulled Eddie off the floor and dragged him up the stairs to his apartment.
“What’s wrong with this?” Eddie gestured to his worn in De Lucas’ shirt and his lined jean jacket.
“Just trust me on this,” Chrissy answered as she flung out a white undershirt and one of Eddie’s well loved flannels.
“We aren’t going anywhere fancy, I was just going to take them to the Hideout,” Eddie mumbled as he pulled on the offered clothing.
“Don’t want to take them to Murray’s after he totally clocked you for being lovestruck?” Chrissy asked.
“I thought we agreed we weren’t talking about that.”
“Your loss. Murray would probably get Steve to make a move.”
“At the expense of my sanity, Chrissy,” Eddie pointed out. “Let’s go get this over with then.” Eddie and Chrissy grabbed their winter coats and braved the Chicago winter.
They made it over to Steve’s shop and knocked on the door. Robin opened the door and Eddie stepped into the shop for the first time. Eddie didn’t know what he was expecting. The shop had plenty of windows and natural light but they were set above street level so Eddie hadn’t really seen any of the interior. It weirdly reminded him of how Mrs. De Lucas kept the apartment before they moved out of town. Eddie did scoff a bit at the ridiculous green velvet couch but it did look at home in the living room-esque waiting area. There were plants absolutely everywhere and Eddie noticed his flower arrangement sitting front and center at the reception desk. Eddie also saw that Steve had set out some of the De Lucas’ Flowers cards Chrissy had made up near the vase and was a little taken aback by the gesture.
“Hey guys! Steve’s wrapping up but we can hang out here until he’s done,” Robin said. “Do y’all want a water or something?”
“I’m okay,” Chrissy answered.
“Eddie?” Robin asked.
“Huh? Oh, no I’m fine, thanks,” Eddie was a little lost in thought looking through Steve’s space. He busied himself flipping through the records on the shelf. They were all super mellow, pretty much the polar opposite to what Eddie played at his shop. Eddie’s musings were interrupted by a firm hand on his shoulder.
“I dunno if you’ll find anything you like in there,” Steve laughed and Eddie was very startled at having Steve so close all of a sudden.
“You don’t know everything about me, Harrington,” Eddie answered.
“I dunno, I think he’s got you on that one,” Chrissy added from the couch where she and Robin are hunched over Robin’s phone.
“Helpful, Chris,” Eddie glared back.
“Ready to blow this popsicle stand,” Steve asked. “Lead the way, Munson.”
The Hideout was a couple blocks from their shops. It was a bar Eddie and the band had played at a few times. It was mostly just a dive bar with a couple of dart boards but the drinks were cheap and that was all that really mattered. The group was thankful for the blast of hot air after the chilly walk and piled into a booth towards the back of the bar. Robin and Chrissy went to grab the first round leaving behind Steve and Eddie and a mountain of winter gear. After several long moments of Eddie trying to look anywhere but Steve’s general vicinity, Steve piped up.
“Do you and Chrissy have plans for Valentine’s Day?”
Eddie must have looked at Steve like he was speaking a foreign language because Steve quickly added, “I mean, like at the shop, you know, flowers, Valentine’s Day, cupid, please stop me if any of this is sounding familiar.”
“Oh, uh, yeah, I mean, it’s definitely busy but usually it’s worth it. People tend to buy nicer flowers this time of year,” Eddie answered as Robin and Chrissy thankfully returned.
“A toast!” Robin exclaimed. “To Steve!”
“Steve!” Chrissy answered and raised her glass.
“Congrats, big boy,” Eddie looked across at Steve a little longer than strictly necessary to cheers, but he selfishly liked seeing Steve’s cheeks pink slightly when Eddie used that particular endearment.
“Speech!” Robin called.
“Robs, you said you wouldn’t be a dick.”
“Steven. I said I wouldn’t be a dick about a very specific thing. Not that I wouldn’t celebrate your shop.” Robin answered.
Eddie gave Chrissy a look that he hoped conveyed how very strange he found this interaction. She kicked his shin.
“Fine, no speech. Maybe at our next month’s celebration,” Robin joked.
“This is becoming a regular thing?” Eddie said. Steve looked a little strange at that but maybe that was because of whatever weird thing was going on between him and Robin.
“I mean, Chrissy and I can hang out on our own but we’ll probably end up just talking about you two,” Robin said while giving Steve a pretty intense side eye.
“Nope, not happening” Steve said as Eddie let out an equally exasperated “Chris, you better not.” Eddie took a long drink of his whiskey and avoided looking across the table.
“Then I guess this is becoming a regular thing, kids,” Robin said.
“Cheers to that,” Chrissy responded.
Eddie was very concerned how close these two had apparently gotten. He was fairly comfortable that Chrissy wouldn’t betray his trust but she was also quite the schemer. The rest of the (apparently now monthly) happy hour passed without incident. Robin and Chrissy carried most of the conversation with Eddie and Steve chiming in every once in a while but they both let the girls lead the rest of the evening. It was companionable and Eddie found by the end of the night he wasn’t particularly upset about agreeing to a monthly hang. The duos parted ways back at their respective shops and Eddie felt warm in a way he was going to attribute to alcohol and not the fond way Steve waved goodbye.
***
Again, y’all have been unreal. Please keep telling me what y’all are most excited to see! I’m trying to post in real time now that things are getting close to Valentine’s Day in both my worlds (lol). That being said I think once I get the main story finished I’ll do some shorter “extras” if people are interested! Let me know if you want to be removed or added from the taglist! (and please let me know if i missed someone! It wasn’t intentional at all and I am very new to all of this!)
Part 6 now available here!

Another One Bites The Dust - Eddie Munson & Steve Harrington
A/N: sorry it was a day later, but I was able to complete this and I’m quite happy of how it turned out! also, I need more Argyle in my stories xD he’s just such a wholesome character! :D hope you loves like this!
Request - hobisfavoritespritecan asked: Hello!! I saw your Steddie X Reader post and I was thrilled to see that we couldn't possibly choose between the two so we settled for both 😈 Anyways, I was wondering if maybe you could write something along the lines of the reader and her boys at a party? And then some guy tries to flirt with her and he's really pushy so he says "What are you going to do about it, call your boyfriend?" And then the reader is like "Actually I have two." AND THEN THEY BEAT HIS ASS?!Thank you I hope you're having a lovely day 💛🦐
Warning: polyamorous!relationship (SteddiexReader); Andy being an asshole and harassing the reader; there’s a party so there’s drinking involved and Eddie’s a little high; Steve beating the shit out of Andy (and winning a fight!)
Disclaimer: I don’t own Stranger Things :) gifs aren’t mine :D

Another One Bites The Dust
But I'm ready, yes I'm ready for you I'm standing on my own two feet Out of the doorway the bullets rip Repeating to the sound of the beat Another one bites the dust
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Hey, there's my favorite Hawkins girl, man!" you heard a familiar voice behind you and you turned around with a big smile on your face.
"There's my favorite California man, man!" you ran, throwing your arms around Argyle and he wrapped his arms around your waist, lifting you a little. He honestly gave the best hugs. Not that you would ever admit that to any of your boyfriends. "I didn't know you were coming!"
"Of course, I was coming, man. It's Jonathan's birthday!" he smiled. "Shit, man. Wheeler really outdid herself" he said, looking around.
"Right?" you laughed, looking at all the people around. "Steve and Eddie are gonna freak when they see you" you told him.
"Where are they, man? I was looking for them, thought they'd be with you" he said.
"They're outside. I think Eddie's handling business" you smirked. "And Steve always gets dragged into some drinking game or actual game so... I set them free for the night" you winked at him.
"That's my man!" he said, high-fiving you. "I'm gonna go say hey, but I'll come back and talk to you, okay?"
"Okay" you smiled. "Hey, if you see one of the kids with a beer, tell them I'm watching them!" you said and he just nodded back to you. "Hey, Robin-"
"I did a stupid thing!" she said, running towards you.
"What did you do?"
"I told Nancy we would sing in the karaoke thing-"
"You did what?" you widened your eyes at her. "I don't want to sing!"
"I don't want to either but she was really insisting, you know how she gets and she was looking at me with those huge eyes that she makes a-and Vickie was nearby and she thought it would be cool if we sang so-"
"Oh, so we're singing to impress Vickie, are we?" you smirked.
"Please, as my designated best friend-"
"I thought Steve was your best friend-"
"Well, you're his girlfriend so, that makes you my best friend too, so please?" she begged.
"Fine, but if we're doing this, I need to be a lot more wasted than I am right now" you chuckled and she laughed, pulling you over to the table full of drinks.
"Well, shit, this must be my lucky night" you heard a very unpleasant, and unfortunately familiar voice when you arrived. You looked up to find Andy standing there with some of his friends.
"I would assume so since I honestly doubt Nancy invited you" you glared at him with Robin.
"Oh, don't be like that, babe. Wheeler said it was an open house" he smirked.
"Don't call me babe" you glared at him.
"Come on, relax, babe. It's a party" he said, getting closer to you but you walked backwards, pulling Robin with you. "Here" he said, offering you the drink in his hand.
"I would honestly rather die of dehydration than drink anything you give me" you glared at him.
"Why must you always be so hostile with me, babe? I'm just trying to be nice" he said, taking a sip of the drink. "See you around" he said, winking at you and walking away.
"Fuck, I hate him" you muttered as you started making your drink and Robin's.
"He's a fucking asshole" Robin added. "Have you... told Steve about him? Or Eddie?"
"Not really" you said, handing her one of the drinks. "I mean, Andy is all talk, and I don't want them getting into any fights for me" you told her. "Eddie's graduating this year, so I have to make sure he avoids things like fighting" you explained. "And Steve..."
"Can't fight for shit" Robin chuckled, finishing for you.
"Yeah, thanks for not making me say it" you laughed.
"But, I mean, he knows about you and Steve and Eddie, right?"
"Yeah, I have told him a million times, but it just... doesn't stick" you said, frustrated. "I always tell him that I'm in a relationship but I honestly think he doesn't care. And he keeps on thinking it's only one" you told her. "But look, I can handle Andy, like I said, he's all talk" you said, rolling your eyes. "Now, to the matter at hand" you said, raising your glass. "If you want me singing with you... let's get wasted!"
"Cheers" Robin smiled, clinking her glass with you.
Several drinks later, you were feeling a little relaxed and thinking you could sing with Robin, who couldn't really stop laughing at the moment.
"Hey, do you think Argyle will sing with us?" she asked between laughs.
"Oh my God! We should totally get Argyle to sing with us!" you said as if it was the best idea you had ever heard in your life. "I'm gonna go look for him!"
"Alright, but hurry up because Nancy said we're up next" Robin shouted your way as you ran outside.
You stumbled through the Wheeler's living room to make your way outside and realized you might be a bit drunker than you initially intended to be. But it was fine, Eddie and Steve were here. And Nancy said you could spend the night if you needed to. You missed a step in the living room and felt a hand grabbing your arm, rather roughly.
"Watch your step, babe" Andy smirked, gripping your arm, tightly.
"Don't fucking touch me!" you said, getting out of his grip.
"That's the thank you that I get for helping?"
"Stay away from me, Andy" you glared at him. "I mean it" you said, walking away from him as quickly as you could and making your way outside. You were still looking back to make sure Andy wouldn't follow you. He only smirked and winked at you until you bumped into someone.
"Hey, princess" you felt relieved when you heard that voice and you turned around to see Eddie smiling at you. "You okay?" he asked, looking at the frown on your face.
"Eds" you smiled, throwing your arms around you. "Hi" you said, giving him a peck on the lips.
"Are you drunk?" he smirked.
"Are you high?" you asked, with the same smirk.
"Fair question" he said, giving you another kiss. "Don't tell Steve" the two of you said at the same time and laughed.
"What's up, man?" you heard Argyle's voice next to you.
"Argyle! Just the man I was looking for!" you said, pulling away from Eddie.
"Excuse me?" Eddie asked, sounding hurt. "What's that supposed to mean?" he pouted.
"It means, Robin is forcing me to sing karaoke with her, which is why I'm drunk, and we are recruiting Argyle to sing with us" you smiled at him. "Because I know you wouldn't want to sing our songs" you told him. "And Steve wouldn't want to either" you finished.
"I love how smart you are, princess" he said, pulling you closer and kissing your head.
"So, what do you say?"
"Alright, man! Right on!" Argyle said, excitedly as the three of you walked back into the living room.
"Guys! We're up!" Robin said, waving you two over.
"Good luck, princess" Eddie said, kissing your cheek. "Hey, Steve! You gotta see this!"
You would probably never admit it, but you were having more fun than you thought you would singing and dancing around with Robin and Argyle. Maybe it was the alcohol. Of course, it was the alcohol. And the fact that Steve and Eddie kept smiling adorably at you as you danced and laughed. You three were probably the most uncoordinated trio to ever exist, but you definitely made up by the energy and the passion you were bringing to the song.
A gathering of angels Appeared above my head They sang to me this song of hope And this is what they said, they said Come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me, lads Come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me
"That was more fun than I thought it would be" Robin laughed as you three finished the song and the people around you cheered, including your lovely boyfriends.
"That was fucking awesome, my dudes!" Argyle said, hugging you two at his sides.
"It really was" you laughed. "But I'm parched, I'm gonna go get some water" you told them. "You guys want anything?"
"Nah, I'm cool. I’m gonna go get some pizza! Later, ladies" Argyle said, before walking over to Jonathan and Nancy.
"I'm actually gonna go talk to Vickie" Robin said, excitedly as Vickie smiled at her from the other side of the living room.
"Go Robs, what are you still doing here?" you said, pushing her away and smiling when she reached Vickie. You then started to make your way to the kitchen to get a glass of water.
"Well that was quite a fucking show, babe" you heard that fucking voice behind you. You slowly turned around and, of course, stupid Andy was standing there with his stupid smirk. "You looked really sexy-"
"What the fuck do you want, Andy?" you asked, rolling your eyes. It was really getting tiresome. He was never really this insistent. Usually, it would be like a stupid comment a day while he passed you in the hall at school.
"Ouch, why do you always have to be so mean to me?" he asked, pretending to be hurt. "I'm trying to pay you a compliment here-"
"Well, I don't really want it" you said, trying to walk past him but he blocked your way.
"Come on, babe" he said, trying to reach out to your face but you slapped his hand away.
"I told you to not fucking touch me!" you said, walking backwards.
"Come on, babe. How long are you still going to pretend you don't want me?" he smirked.
"I'm not pretending!" you complained. "I'm going to tell you this one last time so you get it through your thick skull. I am not interested. Now, leave me the fuck alone, or I swear, you're gonna regret it" you said, trying to walk past him again, but he pulled you back by your wrist, harshly. "What the fuck-?"
"Look, I've been trying to be nice here, babe, but I'm really starting to lose my patience" he said as you tried to remove your wrist from his tight grip, but you failed.
"Let go of me" you said between clenched teeth. "NOW!"
"What are you going to do about it, call your boyfriend?" he laughed, saying the last word in a mocking tone. "You know, you keep saying that but I haven't even seen anyone with you tonight, are you just making it up? Do you really have a boyfriend?"
"Well, actually..." you smirked, feeling relieved when you saw two very familiar figures standing behind Andy. "I have two."
"Two?" Andy laughed, still not letting go of your wrist. You saw Steve and Eddie share a look between them and you knew what they were planning. "Come on, babe. Either that's the most pathetic excuse you've tried on me, or you are the biggest slut in our school-"
"What the fuck did you just say?" Eddie asked, stepping closer to him with Steve.
Andy's smirk instantly dropped as he turned around to face your boyfriends.
"Munson, Harrington" he said, glaring at them. "Why don't you walk away, this doesn't really concern you" he insisted. How stupid can this guy really be?
"It does when you still have your fucking hands on our girlfriend and she's told you to let go" Steve said in a quiet, furious tone.
"Your what-?" he asked, looking back at you. "Oh shit! This is fucking priceless! The freak Munson and Has Been Harrington are your boyfriends?" he laughed.
"Mhm" you smiled proudly. "And they told you to let go of me" you repeated, pulling away from him and succeeding this time and quickly making your way to your boyfriends, who placed you behind them.
"This asshole bothering you, princess?" Eddie asked you.
"Yes" you pouted, dramatically. "He's been bothering me for weeks, but he doesn't seem to take no for an answer" you told them.
You were getting sick of Andy. And, as much as he had bothered you before, he had never touched you until today. So that made you feel absolutely uncomfortable. If he wasn't going to listen to you, you were sure he would listen to Steve and Eddie.
"Is that so?" Steve said, glaring at Andy.
"That's not true-!" he glared at you, trying to walk in your direction, but Steve and Eddie blocked his way from you.
"So you're calling her a liar?" Steve asked, pushing him back.
"Our girl doesn't lie, man" Eddie said, glaring at him. Andy chuckled, trying to seem unfazed by the whole thing but you could tell he was feeling a little intimidated.
"I'm telling you, freak. She was enjoying it" he said, making Steve and Eddie clench their fist. You could actually feel them trembling in anger. "Not my fault she's not satisfied even having two of you the sl-"
Eddie threw his arm back and punched Andy hard in the face, making him stumble backwards. As soon as he was going to come back and attack Eddie, Steve got in the middle, throwing several punches himself, making Andy fall to the floor. He then launched himself onto Andy and kept on punching him.
"Talk shit about my girlfriend and boyfriend again! I fucking dare you!" you heard him say between punches. The truth was, you had never seen Steve like this, and neither you nor Eddie seemed to be able to move to stop him.
"Holy shit" you two muttered at the same time. "Are you as turned on as I am, princess?" Eddie whispered to you.
"Yes" was the only thing you could reply.
"STEVE!" you turned around to see Nancy at the entrance of the kitchen with Jonathan, Argyle, Robin, and pretty much everyone else in the entire party. "Eddie, do something!" she yelled, walking next to the two of you.
"Are you shitting me, Wheeler? My guy's actually winning!" Eddie chuckled.
"Guys! This isn't funny!" she told you, looking worried that Steve might get hurt, but it seemed like he was doing fine for himself.
"Yeah, alright, break it up, love" you told Eddie, who pouted a little at you. "Eddie, he's bleeding!" you said, referring to Andy. Although he was kind of bleeding since Eddie punched him on the nose with all of his rings.
"Fine" he sighed, rolling his eyes, and walked over to Steve. "Alright, that's enough, big boy, come on" he said, pulling him off Andy.
"No!" Steve said, landing on a final kick on Andy's stomach. "He doesn't get to fucking talk about you two like that-"
"I know, love. But you're done" Eddie smiled sweetly, giving Steve a peck on the lips and pulling him away. Meanwhile, you saw some of Andy's friends taking him away as Nancy yelled at them that they weren't even supposed to be there so they needed to get out of her house so Jonathan and Argyle made sure to kick them out. "You did good, King Steve" Eddie smirked, pulling him to the fridge where you waited for them with an icepack.
"Hi, handsome" you said, placing the icepack on his bruised hands and kissing his cheek.
"Dude!" Dustin said, excitedly as he stood there with Mike, Will, and Lucas. "You did it!" he smiled and Steve smirked back at him. "You won a fight!"
"That was fucking insane!" Lucas said, just as excited.
"Alright, people" Robin said. "Nothing to see here. Show's over!" she said, ushering everyone out of the kitchen leaving you three alone.
"C'mere, love" you said, hopping on the counter and pulling Steve closer, kissing his forehead. You then placed the icepack on his left cheek where a bruise was forming from the few punches Andy managed to give back. "You okay?"
"I am" he smiled, pulling Eddie closer. "Sorry, I just lost it-"
"Don't apologize, Harrington! That was fucking hot" Eddie said, kissing his cheek and Steve smiled a bit proudly.
"Why hadn't you told us about Andy?" he asked, looking at you and you sighed, putting the icepack down.
"Because it was nothing-"
"Princess, this isn't nothing" Eddie said, gently grabbing your hand where you could see a bruise forming on your wrist.
"He had never done that before" you insisted. "He only said stupid things-"
"Still" Steve said, holding your other hand. "You should have told us" he frowned.
"I know. I'm sorry" you sighed. "I just... didn't want Eddie to fight him because you have to graduate this year" you said, making him laugh a little. "And... well-"
"I can't fight for shit" Steve rolled his eyes.
"Well, you couldn't! How was I supposed to know you got better at it? When did that happen?"
"You know, you two could give me a little credit. I just won a fucking fight for you" he pouted and Eddie hugged him closer, kissing him.
"Hey! What about me?" you asked, looking at them with puppy eyes and you gave each one a kiss. "Thanks" you smiled, happily. "Sorry I didn't tell you about Andy before, I really didn't want you guys to worry. And he honestly had never done something like this before. He only said stupid things while walking down the hall" you told them. "And I did tell him many times that I had two boyfriends, I swear-"
"We know, love" Eddie said, softly. "We trust you. It's not your fault he's an enormous asshole who wouldn't take no for an answer" he assured you.
"Still" Steve said, stroking your thigh with his firm hand. "Maybe we need to go home and remind you that you are taken" he said, with a look you knew too well.
"No" you simply said, making him frown. "We're going to go home and Eddie and I are going to thank you for being our brave knight in shining armor" you smirked back at him.
"I'm down with any of those plans" Eddie smiled, happily, giving each of you a kiss.
"Let's get out of here then" Steve said, helping you down the counter. They started walking out of the kitchen but you stood in your place, pulling them back. "What?"
"I love you" you told them, giving each a kiss on the cheek.
"Me too" Eddie said, wrapping his arm around you.
"Me three" Steve said, kissing your temple and hugging you both closer.

2002, established relationship, dads!steddie living in boston with their 1yo daughter, another excerpt of this bc i think it's my actual fav part
“I’m done with this goddamn city,” Ed yelled up the stairs, “So fuckin’ serious, Steve. I’m out.”
Steve sighed, well-acquainted with this one of Ed’s many tirades.
Just as he was standing up from where he’d been sitting at his desk looking over some notes and prepping for a counseling session later that afternoon, he heard the door shut loudly (though not a full slam, he noted, because Ed had Moe with him). He headed out into the hallway in time to see Ed coming up the stairs, Moe balanced in one arm.
“What happened now?” Steve asked.
“An idiot BU kid driving Daddy’s Lexus almost T-boned me with Moe in the backseat because — apparently — red lights are just a fucking suggestion here.”
“I mean…I’m pretty sure you ran every red light in Hawkins when you were nineteen.”
It wasn’t a helpful comment, per se, and Steve knew that, but when Ed was riled up like this, there really weren’t any helpful comments available.
“That’s entirely different,” Ed countered, passing Moe over to him so he could pull off his own jacket, “There’s, like, six people on the road at any given moment in Hawkins, and two traffic lights.”
“Okay, well, we can move, love,” Steve said tiredly, steadily approaching his limit for how many times he could listen to Eddie rant about this particular issue without taking any sort of real action to solve it, “Nobody said we had to stay in Boston. Also — we can actually afford to buy a house now, so…”
“Wha— we can?”
“A down payment, yeah.”
“The fuck is a downpayment?”
“Uh…” Steve paused. He’d long since become comfortable with his role in his and Ed’s finances — being that he’s almost entirely in charge of them. He knew that Ed had grown up worrying about money in a way that Steve never had to so he actually liked being able to take over that part of their life together. He liked being able to let Ed not think about it (even though sometimes it meant that his thirty-five-year-old life partner asked him what a goddamn down payment was), “It’s kind of like putting a security deposit down on an apartment, except instead of for securing a lease, it’s for securing a loan — sort of. That’s…there’s better ways of explaining it, and there’s a lot more to it, but it’s sort of like we’re paying a certain amount of the mortgage upfront to prove that we’re committed to paying it off month-to-month.”
“How much is it?”
“Depends,” Steve shrugged, running a hand over Moe’s hair as she started to doze off, her head drooping down to rest on his shoulder, “Pretty sure twenty percent is considered, like, ideal, or something, so it all comes down to what our budget is.”
“What’s our budget?”
Steve leveled an eyebrow at him.
“What?” Ed asked.
“Do you actually wanna know? Because when I tried to show you our electric bill last week you pretended to be asleep.”
“Uh — buying a fuckin’ house together is totally different from you reprimanding me about leaving the heat on too long.”
“I don’t think I’d have to reprimand you anymore if you saw the electric bill.”
“Okay — yes, Stevie, I actually would like to be involved in our finances just this once because I care very, very deeply about us buying a house. I really do.”
“Alright,” he replied, knowing he still sounded a tad skeptical, “I mean, if you actually wanna know about this stuff, I’ve got some spreadsheets I’ve been using to keep track of that kind of thing, and we can—”
“Baby, if you wanted to talk about spreading sheets, all you had to do was ask,” Ed grinned wickedly, an expression that slowly began to fade as his eyes slid off of Steve’s and onto the opposite wall, probably as he considered how wise a comment that had been to make.
Steve stared at him for a long while.
“Okay,” he finally said, “I’m gonna go put our child down for a nap. If in that time you decide you can be a grownup while we talk about spending a fuck-load of money on property we’ll own and be entirely responsible for, let me know.”
“You got it, man.”

Freaky Friday (Steddie's Version) - chapter 3!

Steve woke up to the sound of an alarm at 6am on Friday morning. He couldn’t remember why at first, and reached over to hit the snooze button. When it went off again at 6:15, he groaned and rolled over to unplug the damn thing.
The previous night came back to him in a flash when he reached out a hand that didn’t belong to him. Oh. Right.
For a moment as he desperately clung to consciousness, he thought that the worst part of all of this might be having to wake up so early. Well, that and the crippling fear of what Eddie was going to do.
He got out of bed and looked at himself in the mirror. Yup. I’m still Munson. He fixed Eddie’s frizzy hair to the best of his ability, and wondered how it would look if he actually used the right products on it. He put on an outfit that mildly resembled Eddie’s usual style. Steve hoped that if he followed the rules and didn’t stir up trouble, Eddie would do the same.
He didn’t have a backpack or books or anything, but it didn’t really matter. Eddie never seemed to bring anything around school except his stupid black lunchbox.
He laughed to himself at the thought of that big, clunky thing Eddie carried around. Steve had seen the inside contents firsthand, and he was always shocked at how cavalier Eddie was about carrying drugs around with him all day. Like, the dude just took a whole lot of weed everywhere he went, sold it right outside of school property, and nobody really questioned it.
Most of the time, anyway. As Steve walked downstairs and grabbed a protein bar on his way out the door, he thought about the one time he’d been involved in Eddie’s dealing. Steve’s Junior year, not too long before he started seeing Nancy. Eddie’s Senior year - the first one, anyway.
“Where’s Tommy?” Eddie had asked when they met up at the picnic table. “He’s usually the one that meets me here.”
“Tommy’s out sick,” Steve responded. “You’re stuck with me today.” Eddie sighed as he sat down, putting the infamous giant metal lunchbox on the table and opening it to reveal quite literally the most marijuana Steve had ever seen in one place. His eyes went wide. “Jesus Christ, man. That’s, like -”
“Whaddya want, Harrington?” Eddie asked, his smile pained but pleasant. “Pick your poison.”
“Just give me whatever Tommy usually gets,” Steve answered. Eddie nodded and dug through his contraband as Steve took out a few bills and threw them on the table. Eddie caught a glimpse of the money and smirked. Steve had expected Eddie to give him change, but it was pretty evident that would not be happening the moment they’d started this interaction. “You’re being careful, right?”
“What the hell are you on about?” Eddie asked as he handed Steve the bag.
“I just mean, like. With selling. Couldn’t you go to jail or something?”
“Why the hell do you care?” he replied, growing agitated. “People don’t tell on me because if they did, they wouldn’t have anywhere else to buy this shit. So unless you’re going to run to the police, I think I’ll be okay.”
“Jesus, man. I’m just looking out for you,” Steve responded as he stood up.
“Since fucking when?” Eddie retorted. “You’ve never cared before.”
“I never bought from you before,” Steve replied. Eddie’s harsh words and combative nature hardly fazed Steve. It wasn’t too far off from how Tommy talked to him, and he’d gotten used to that years ago.
“I know what I’m doing,” Eddie insisted. “Rick and my dad have taught me well regarding the life of crime.” Steve responded without thinking - a habit that he was still trying to break.
“Isn’t your dad, like, in prison, though?” He regretted it as soon as he’d said it. He wished he could chase the words in the air and crush them, but they were already out and into the ether.
“We’re done here,” Eddie responded. He sounded tired and disappointed as opposed to angry. That was far worse.
So, Steve got what he needed and he left. Usually, that’s the full extent of what happens during a drug deal, but unfortunately Steve wasn’t so lucky that time.
He was taken out of his memory when the fresh air hit his face and went into his lungs. He really, really wanted a cigarette. He climbed into his car and for a moment wished it were Eddie’s, because there certainly would have been something to smoke in there. Steve’s car, however, was kept neat and drug-free. It was part of the agreement he had with his father about paying his car insurance. If Mr. Harrington caught so much as a hint of smoke in the car he’d so nicely provided his son, Steve lost all car privileges. And if Steve didn’t have a car, he pretty much didn’t have a life.
He had many reasons to quit smoking, and he’d finally gotten over the horrible cravings, and now here he was, fighting them yet again.
Fuck you, Munson.
He didn’t realize how weird it would feel to pull into the Hawkins High parking lot. Only a year prior was he in this parking lot with Nancy, thinking about college essays and graduation.
Seemed like forever ago. Steve hardly felt like the same person he was then.
Although, at the current moment, he was literally a different person, but that’s another story.
He sighed and headed into the school. It was still pretty early, but kids roamed the halls anyway. Steve stopped one of them - he didn’t recognize her, but she looked kind enough.
“Hey, so uh -” Her eyes widened at him in confusion with a hint of fear. At first he assumed it must have been the height difference. “If I needed another copy of my schedule, where would I go?”
“You don’t know your schedule yet?” she asked, still hesitant. “Did your brain finally melt from all the drugs?” Steve raised his eyebrows, shocked at the way she had casually insulted him.
“No, I just -” Steve paused. He had no other explanation for why he’d need a new schedule, so he let it go. “Do you know where I should go, or not?”
“Main office, bonehead.” She spun around and walked away, leaving Steve stunned.
Okay, so she wasn’t so kind after all. Steve was kind of shit at reading people.
He managed to get a copy of Eddie’s schedule (the woman at the front desk seemed equally as judgmental and suspicious, so Steve lied and said it was to give to his girlfriend. She didn’t seem to believe that either), and then headed to his first class before the bell rang. So far so good, he figured.
But then class started, and Steve remembered how much he hated school. He sat and pretended to listen to the teacher until the forty minutes were up.
There was a quiz in math next period, but thankfully Steve actually knew what he was doing. Math was something he understood relatively well. It was easier for him than the other subjects, at least. Plus, since he’d started hanging out with Dustin, he’d gotten a lot more booksmart just through, like, osmosis or something. For example, he knew the word osmosis.
Nobody really talked to him in class, but maybe that was for the best. Steve wasn’t really much of an actor, and he didn’t know Eddie well enough to accurately impersonate him. Plus, when people did interact with him, they were usually just calling him a freak or whatever, even though Steve wasn’t doing anything. People shit on Eddie just for existing.
The day went by swiftly and with relatively little issue - that was, until lunch.
At least Steve knew Eddie enough to remember where he sat - the Hellfire table, with the other freaks. Eddie was walking on tables and making a scene like twice a week, talking about the same shit over and over to his little sheep who always listened intently to his ramblings.
Steve always wondered why the people at the table seemed to encourage his behavior. Mostly they ignored it, but there were always a few who seemed impressed. The young kids.
Steve couldn’t believe Dustin had become one of the sheep.
He loved Dustin, obviously. He’d do anything for Dustin, and yet - Dustin was in a new phase of his life. High school. Damn. Those were prime identity years for Steve. He wasn’t sure how much Dustin would change, or which clique he’d be adopted into. When he heard that Hellfire had adopted him after Day 1, Steve was kind of disappointed, just because he never saw the appeal of that club or the people in it. Especially Eddie.
And now, Eddie was leaving his own mark on Dustin, and Steve couldn’t do anything about it but watch from afar.
Until now, he guessed.
Steve went to the Hellfire table and sat down at the head of it - that’s where Eddie always sat. Various people were gathered around already, most of whom he didn’t recognize. Mike was there, but they didn’t really look at each other. He still didn’t like Steve that much, but he was a kid - Steve didn’t take it too personally. Dustin joined them a few minutes later, actively avoiding eye contact as well. That was far more personal, and Steve wasn’t gonna stand by and let it happen.
“Dustin, you doing alright, man?” he asked. Dustin looked over at Steve (Eddie) and nodded.
“Yeah,” he responded. He seemed…embarrassed? “I’m sorry for yelling at you guys yesterday.”
Oh. So Dustin wasn’t angry at him anymore, he was angry at himself. Does he know Eddie and I went back to the plant yet??
“It’s all good, I get it. I’m sorry, too.”
“For what?” Dustin asked, confused.
“For, uh - overstepping, I guess,” Steve answered.
“Munson, did you just apologize for something?” another person at the table asked. Steve turned to see someone he thought he knew, but couldn't place his name. “This is a first.”
Shit. Wait, does Eddie really never apologize? Figures -
“He’s always had a soft spot for Henderson,” another student added.
“You weren’t overstepping, Eddie,” Dustin continued, ignoring the comments from the others. “I just wanted -”
“We don’t have to harp on it,” Steve interrupted. Hey, at least I’m crushing the thing Eddie does where he never lets people finish a thought. “Let’s just forget it.”
“Thanks,” Dustin said. “And it seems like you survived the night despite having to be civil with Steve for ten minutes.” Yeah, ten minutes. If only.
“I wasn’t sure for a minute there, but yeah. We made it through.”
Steve kept to himself the rest of lunch, occasionally chatting with Dustin or Gareth - that was the one dude’s name. Apparently, there was band practice on Saturday. Steve had no idea Corroded Coffin was still together.
He thought he was doing alright, all things considered. He almost believed he’d make it through the whole day undetected.
How foolish of him.

Dustin was first clued in that something was wrong when he heard that Eddie had showed up in a car other than his infamous van. Since Dustin was always one to ride the curiosity voyage, he’d gone out to the parking lot between periods to see for himself.
Eddie’s van wasn’t there. A totally different, unrecognizable car was parked in his place. That was weird in itself - Eddie always took that spot, and he didn’t have access to any other cars. Dustin shrugged and started walking back to the school, and that’s when he noticed something even weirder.
Steve’s car.
Dustin rationalized it as best as he could. Maybe Steve lent Robin the car, even though she didn’t have her license yet. Seemed improbable, but possible. Eddie could have stolen Steve’s car for the day. That one was more likely, but then why wasn't it in the right parking spot?
Lunch gave him even more information.
Eddie was nice to Dustin, sure. But he wasn’t that nice. He still teased Dustin in a way that made him feel praised, somehow. Like - way to go, buddy. You’re a weirdo like me. And Gareth was right, Eddie never apologized.
But Dustin knew someone who did.
At lunch, Eddie didn’t seem to know anything about Dungeons and Dragons, and he was quiet. Like, way too quiet. Mike talked about Lucas joining the basketball team, and Eddie didn’t give his usual tirade about how sports teams are poisoning the school. Instead, he was supportive. He also didn’t remember that band practice was the next day, and Corroded Coffin had band practice every Saturday without fail.
Dustin thought at first that maybe, Eddie had just been crazy high off something. Something that Dustin hadn’t seen him on before. In any case, there was definitely something he was keeping secret about the night prior with Steve. Dustin just had no idea what.
The mystery continued to unfold right after the final bell of the day, when the stupid bullies approached Dustin yet again. He rolled his eyes at their arrival.
“What now, you imbeciles?” Dustin asked, passively. He’d tried several ways to fight back in the past, and nothing really worked, but he knew that the best way to get a bully to lose interest is to pretend he didn’t care.
“Look who’s all tough,” Chad grinned devilishly. “Are you waiting on your guardians to show up and save you again?”
“What?” Dustin didn’t know how they knew about that.
“Harrington and the Freak,” Chad answered. “They tried to give us a good scare last night.”
“They did?” Dustin asked, his heart sinking.
“What, like you didn’t ask them to?”
“Actually, I specifically asked them not to,” Dustin sighed. Those idiots. Chad and his buddies circled around Dustin, trapping him against the wall with no escape in sight. One of them looked in the distance and rolled his eyes.
“Speak of the devil,” he said. The group all turned towards his gaze to see Eddie strolling straight towards them, a somehow casual fury in his eyes. Eddie’s anger was usually a lot more intense and frazzled. This was more like a guy who’d had enough. A guy who’d seen some shit far worse than bullying and was now unfazed by high school drama.
Eddie approached the circle and wiggled his way in until he was face to face with Chad.
“What do you want, Munson?” he asked.
“I told you. Leave the kid alone, or else,” he replied.
“Or else, what? Are you gonna curse me or something?” The group laughed. Everyone thought they were so smart, making the same jokes about Eddie. Angry, unhinged Eddie who Dustin had seen carefully and quietly work on campaigns on multiple occasions. He only acted crazy when he had an audience.
“If that’s what it takes,” Eddie shrugged. “Or I could, you know, tell everyone about the time you threw up all over Stacy Williams at the New Years party.” Chad’s eyes widened.
“How do you even know about that?” Eddie smirked, then continued.
“Right place, right time I guess. I mean, I was at least in a better place than Stacy Williams that night -”
“Okay fine, I’ll leave him alone,” Chad said. Eddie let go of the guy and took a step back, triumphant. Chad recovered, then delivered one final, unoriginal blow. “Freak.” Spit flew out of his mouth as he said the word. Chad was the worst, and nobody liked him anyway. He walked off with his minions, pathetically defeated.
“Sorry, Dustin. I know you didn’t want me to -”
“It’s okay. Thanks,” Dustin replied. “I think he might actually lay off now.”
“Cool,” his friend said with a smile. He turned to leave, but Dustin only let him get a step or two before calling out to him.
Dustin had heard the story about Chad and Stacy before, and he knew who had told it to him.
“Steve?”
“Yeah?” His friend turned back to Dustin nonchalantly, before his eyes widened. “Oh, shit.”
“I knew it. Tell me everything.”
______________________________________
Eddie slept in until noon, a luxury he usually didn’t have on Fridays. Well, he used to sleep in until noon on Fridays a lot, but then he didn’t graduate.
This time, however, he could sleep guilt-free, knowing that Steve’s shift wasn’t until 12:30. With a full night’s rest under his belt, he felt a bit more at peace about the whole situation, somehow.
Maybe it was because, out of the two of them, Eddie had a much better deal than Steve.
He wondered how school was going, and if Steve had gotten a taste of his own medicine. Maybe having to experience constant bullying would make him understand how much of an asshole he’d been. One could only hope.
Eddie climbed out of bed, chose the least offensive outfit he owned (plain black t-shirt and black jeans), put the green vest on (he far preferred his Dio one), and headed out the door. He hadn’t even looked in the mirror or anything. He avoided it on purpose. But, alas, he caught his reflection in the rearview mirror of his van as he backed out of Forest Hills, and that’s when he realized he’d left Steve’s hair a fucking mess.
Seriously, not once had Steve’s hair ever looked like this. Eddie didn’t even know it could look like this. It was…really bad??? How much time did Steve invest in making this shit look good every day? What the hell??
Eddie started to realize why Steve had been so upset the night before about the conditioner thing.
Even though it wasn’t his hair, technically, and any embarrassment Eddie faced today would have zero consequences, he took a minute to make it look somewhat decent. He wanted to screw Harrington over, of course, but he also wanted to see what a normal day was like for someone like Steve.
He’d cause chaos in other ways, he promised himself.
He pulled into Family Video, feeling relatively confident as he walked in. How hard could it be, right? It was just movies. Eddie watched a lot of movies. He’d make sure Steve kept his job - that was the deal. He didn’t want to keep up his end of the bargain, but he was scared of what Steve would do in retaliation.
School and job must stay intact. Non-negotiable. But everything else was fair game.
“You’re late, Harrington,” Keith said as Eddie walked in. He looked at his watch - it was 12:31.
“Barely,” he responded before regretting it. Fuck. I’m bad at this.
“Watch it,” Keith warned. Eddie quickly backed off and headed behind the counter. He wasn’t sure what else there was to do other than handle customers. He figured if Keith wanted him to do something else, he’d say something.
Nobody came in for the first half hour. Eddie was bored. He thought about asking Keith if he could watch one of the movies, then shut that thought down before it left his lips. He wished he’d brought a book. How the hell did Harrington survive this job when it was so dull?? He wondered if having Robin around made it more bearable. She was due to show up after school around 3pm.
He felt a major reprieve when Keith asked him to put the returns back to their rightful spots on the shelves. It gave him something to do, and he was so excited to be doing something that he got it done in record-breaking time, apparently.
“All set,” Eddie had said once he’d put the last tape on the shelf. Keith eyed him suspiciously.
“Really?” he asked. Eddie nodded. “That was fast. Did you just put them all in random spots again?” Jesus Christ. I’m surprised Harrington hasn’t lost this job all by himself.
“No, they’re all in the right place. You can check if you want.” Eddie knew they were all correct, because he’d been in this store so many damn times. He probably knew it better than Steve. No, he definitely knew it better than Steve.
Keith double checked a few rows before he believed Eddie’s words. He nodded, clearly impressed.
Then, a customer came in - someone he knew. Rick.
“Hey, man!” Eddie greeted him without thinking about it.
Rick, or “Reefer Rick,” was the guy that got Eddie into the whole dealing thing. He was Eddie’s supplier, and he was a good friend. Well, he was a friend anyway.
“Hey…” Rick responded, confused at “Steve’s” enthusiasm.
“Cheech and Chong, right?” Eddie asked, knowing that was Rick’s usual. “We just got it back so it’s actually right here.” Rick looked impressed that an employee remembered him, but Eddie knew for a fact he was a regular here, and his appearance was kind of hard to forget.
He rang him out. He probably did it wrong on the computer, but whatever.
“Have a good day, man,” Rick said as he left.
A woman came in after that, looking for something to watch with her boyfriend. Eddie rambled on about a few titles, asking her about the boyfriend and what he liked, then what she liked, before providing multiple recommendations and his reasoning behind them. She chose one, rented it, and left the store.
Damn. I’m actually really good at this shit. Eddie wondered if he’d found his calling. He deserved this job way more than Harrington.
“Steve,” Keith called from the back room, where he’d been doing paperwork and rewinding tapes. “What’s gotten into you today?”
“What do you mean?” Eddie asked.
“I mean,” Keith continued. “You’re staying busy instead of slacking off. You’re remembering customers, and you didn’t hit on that girl at all like you usually would. You even gave her a really good recommendation. I thought you didn’t know anything about Star Wars?”
Seriously, how the hell has Harrington not been fired yet? Eddie also took note of Steve not knowing about Star Wars, which may have been his worst offense yet, in Eddie’s eyes.
“Yeah, well. I’m really trying,” Eddie responded. He wasn’t, really. This job was stupid easy. But also, he was doing it, because that was the deal.
“Keep up the good work,” Keith said. “If you do, I’ll start letting you pick your shifts.”
Eddie’s eyes widened. He loved praise. He loved being told he was doing well, it just didn’t happen much outside of Hellfire.
“Noted. Thanks,” he replied.
And then it hit him - Eddie had set out to ruin Steve’s life, and instead he got him a promotion. Fuck. I’m really bad at this whole revenge thing.

My Little Man (Steddie X You) (Part of HFOD and SS Universe)
Tumblr media
A/N: I guess you guys would call this season 3? Lol. My angst hella took over as well as some feelings I've been dealing with lately.
Enjoy please <3.
Part of this Universe
Warnings: Demon Steddie & Human Fem Reader, No SMUT in this one, FLUFF, they love each other and their son. Demon Steddie is navigating how to be human while taking care of a pregnant Y/N.
ANGST: More or less the normal level of angst that comes with this series. The theme is grief and PTSD (from a soldiers perspective). Y/N is still struggling with the notion of her parents not being there to see Ellis grow up and the guys (especially Steve) is struggling with being raised how they were and taught to fight. Eddie struggles with feelings of enabling because of everything they went through.
The dreams probably have the most feels. They talk to their loved ones and Ellis says goodbye. Steve has nightmares that involve his dad being a dick (of course) and something that happens within one angers Eddie (blood briefly mentioned).
Word Count: 6398
"Don't you know I love you more than life itself Don't you know that you're my pride And I would not have you walking through this world Without me by your side
Go to sleep my little man Don't you weep my little man"
3 Months Pregnant
Steve sits on the bench outside of the library he had just exited from, sighing heavily as he closed his eyes and threw his head back.
Ever since the three of you got home, he and Eddie had been doing research on which human job they would best be suited for in your realm but were struggling to find much of anything. For him, it was even more difficult since he was raised to be a solider. He genuinely didn’t know how to do anything else and it didn’t help that even though you explained a lot of human behavior, he still felt slightly ignorant with many things.
“May I sit?” The demon jumped at the sound of a gravelly voice beside him. “Oh, shit. Sorry, son. I didn’t mean to startle you.”
“No, it’s alright. Um, please.”, he gestures towards the area beside him causing the man to flash him a thankful grin as he takes a seat.
“How long?”
“I’m sorry?”
“I asked how long. I know the look of a fellow veteran trying to figure out how to adapt to a civilian lifestyle. How long has it been since you saw combat?”
“Oh, uh, it’s…it’s been a few years. But I did it the bulk of my life.”
“I can imagine with you being so young. I bet one of your parents was a solider as well?”
“Wow. Yeah, that’s amazing. How did you…?”
“I told you, son. I know the look.”, the man chuckles as he extends his hand. “Truman Duvall; Ex Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army.”
“Steven Harrington. Um, Sergeant in the US Army. Well, Ex.”, Steve laughs nervously as he hopes his memory of things he’s learned about humans in the past is still up to date.
“Nice to meet you. If I may ask, what were you thinking so hard about specifically?”
“My girlfriend is pregnant and I’m trying to find a job so I can help support my family. I want my son to have a better life then I did but I have no idea where to start.”
“Congratulations on the little bundle! I have four myself, two of them grown and out of the house already. My wife pretends like she’s glad they’re out but she misses them.”, he laughs. “I don’t know if you would be willing but down the street here, we have a recreation center where veterans go to relax and let loose. They’ve been looking for a counselor to lead the group therapy. I think you’d be a good fit.”
“Yeah? Um, I guess I could…”
“Look, you don’t even have to make a decision right now. Why don’t meet me there tonight? We’re having a little party get together thing. Of course, you can bring the girlfriend and you both can meet the person in charge. See if you feel comfortable.”
“O-Ok. I, um…” Steve pauses as he debates on if he should tell the truth about Eddie. That was a fight they had when it came to going home. He had been afraid that they would have to hide their relationship and he never wanted to hide or be hidden when it came to the man he loved. But this is also where he wanted to raise his son and he didn’t want to cause a commotion before you four even had a chance to settle in. What would Eddie do?
“Can I bring my boyfriend as well? He’s a veteran to. We actually met during our tour.”
Truman’s mouth pouted out ever so slightly as his eyebrows lifted in surprise.
“Oh, um, sure! The more the merrier.”
***
“Steven, oh my God, that’s amazing!”, you exclaim as you wrap your arms around his neck. “I’m so happy for you.”
“Hang on, now. I don’t have a job yet but…”
“Don’t sell yourself short, bud.”, Eddie grins from his place on the kitchen counter.
“I hope it’s ok that I kind of…announced…our relationship. We actually didn’t talk about what we wanted to do but I know if we had stayed in our realm I’d want to be honest.”
The long-haired demon opened his arms and Steve promptly placed himself between his legs with his back against his chest while Eddie rested his chin on his shoulder.
“I’m glad you did. I love you and I’m not hiding that.”
“Me either.”, you smiled as they beamed right back.
Suddenly, the happiness drains from your face before you turn and bolt towards the bathroom. You three had been home for a couple of months and within the past week some of the normal symptoms of pregnancy began springing up such as the morning sickness you were currently experiencing.
“It’s alright, baby. Get it all out.”, Eddie tries to sooth as he holds your hair into a makeshift ponytail. As soon as you were finished, you fell back into his arms and thanked Steve when he handed you a bottle of water.
“This is normal, right? Humans get nauseas like this.”, he asked.
“Yeah, honey. It’s normal. I’m alright. I think I’m going to take a nap so I can be 100% for tonight.”
“Y/N, you don’t have to go.”
“No, Steve, I want to go. I want to see where you’ll be and the people you’ll be around.”
################
“Steve! You made it.”, Truman shouts excitedly as he reaches out to shake the boy’s hand. “You must be the girlfriend.”
“Hi. I’m Y/N.”
“Y/N. What a beautiful name for a beautiful woman and this is your…boyfriend? Right, son?”
“Yes, sir. This is Edward.”
“It’s nice to meet you. Steve said you’re a veteran as well. Were you a sergeant like himself?”
“Oh, uh, no. I was more of a private I guess you’d say. But we spent a lot of time together especially on the battlefield.”
“Wow and for you two to still be so close and find a relationship through all that chaos! That’s amazing. I always tell my wife if she met me during my tour she would have hated me. A lot of civilians don’t understand the headspace you have to fall into to do what we have to do.”
Both demon’s nod in understanding and you can’t help but softly smile as you watch them interact with the other people around them. Steve was definitely in his element and you could tell in some way he felt more comfortable in this setting because he was around beings who seemed to understand what they both went through. As his new friend spoke, his eyes remained intense and focused as he absorbed everything he said.
Eddie excused himself to grab some drinks but became distracted talking to another couple and began to laugh at something they were saying. The first time you met him he expressed a particular distain for humans but he seemed to open up more since they were freed, finding something interesting in each person he interacted with.
“Hey, this is my girlfriend Y/N.”, he introduces when you walk over to check on him. “Y/N, this is Lisa and Shawn Bennett. Lisa did a tour in the Air Force flying jets and Shawn was a DJ overseas.”
“Oh wow. For the military or just on your own?”
“For the military. I’m kind of like that Cronauer guy they made the movie about. I read the reports and played music I thought would lift the troops spirits.”, the man explains.
“Kind of like me.”, Eddie whispers in your ear making you smile. “What do you two do now if I may ask? Steve and I have been searching for employment but we have no idea what would fit us.”
“Well, I actually own a store of my own selling books and comics; things like that. I’m a bit of a nerd.”, Lisa laughs.
“And I teach media and music courses at the local community college up here.”
“That sounds like a lot of fun actually. Are they looking for another music teacher because Eddie is an amazing musician.”
“Yeah? Unfortunately, they aren’t but you should consider maybe starting your own business as well. You can teach kids to play guitar or any other instruments you know and you can do it from your house or maybe the music store downtown is hiring.”
“Are you looking for a job to, Y/N? I’m trying to hire someone to help me with my shop.”, Lisa offers with a smile.
“Oh, I’d love that. I’m, uh, I’m actually pregnant though and I wouldn’t want to leave you stranded after you just hired me.”
“That’s fantastic! Don’t even worry about it. You don’t seem very far along yet. I can teach you the ropes before you give birth and that way when you come back, you’ll already know what to do!”
As you glance at Eddie, his eyes widen with encouragement as he nods his head.
“Ok, I’d love to work for you.”
Lisa claps and gives you a big hug as your demon beams behind you.

“Hello fellow veterans, spouses, and partners! Glad you could all join us tonight. I hope you are having some much needed fun! I do have just a quick announcement to make. I would like to introduce you to Steven Harrington who is new to Hawkins and after speaking with him I feel like he will be a great addition to our center here as the group counselor.” The man at the podium smiles as he gestures towards the demon and everyone around the room claps. “Steve, why don’t you introduce yourself?”
When he hesitates, you gently push him forward, urging him softly before he relents and nervously climbs up the makeshift stage.
“Um, hi. Sorry, it’s been a while since I’ve been seen by so many people.” The people chuckle as you and Eddie grin knowingly. “Like Thomas said, I’m, uh, new to Hawkins but my girlfriend is from here and my partner and I thought it would be better for her to be back home where she felt safe with her family so we can start raising our own. I-I-I…shit I used to better at this.”, he chuckles before glancing your way, your gentle smile comforting him.
“I was raised in a military household. My dad was a solider so that’s what I was expected to be. As soon as I was able, he handed me a weapon and commanded I train to be the best. There was no wiggle room there. It was all or nothing. When I saw war…I shut down and did what I had to. I took no pleasure in killing, contrary to popular belief.”
“The worst part about shutting down that way was how it flowed into my every day. I was as an asshole to everyone including women I dated and people I trained… except for some of the people closest to me…Robin, Chrissy, and Eddie. When Edward and I got out…I felt so out of control…so lost. I lost my identity and everything I knew. If I didn’t have him by my side… Then we met Y/N and without her we literally wouldn’t be here today.”
Steve paused, looking out into the crowd, and realizing he may be talking too much.
“Sorry. I’m sorry. Thank you so much for this opportunity and I’ll do whatever I can to help.”
The people in the room clap as he steps off the stage and you immediately wrap your arms around his waist as Eddie lightly caresses his cheek.

You beam at Eddie as he softly strums his instrument. That day after Shawn suggested it, he went down to the music store in town and applied for the job as a guitar instructor. After playing and showing off for them he got the job. He loved hearing the kids try and play reminding him of the children he watched over with Steve during their war.
Today was everyone’s day off so they were being lazy in bed with you in your pajamas and both demons in nothing but their sweats.
“Ok, this thing here says for humans you should be feeling him move around now.”, Steve announced as he gestured towards the book he was reading.
“I haven’t felt him move yet unless the occasional nausea is him saying hello.”, you giggle. Leaning over him, you grab his hand and place it on the middle of your stomach. “Talk to him.”
“Uh, I…hey, Ellis. It’s, um, your daddy. I’m not scaring him with my voice, right?”
“No, baby.”, you grin as you pet his head. “This is how he’ll get used to it though. Hearing and seeing you both in your demon form.”
“Buddy, you have no reason to be afraid of us in any form. I’m sorry your dads aren’t as beautiful as you and your mom but—”
“Hey, speak for yourself.”, Eddie teases making you laugh. “I’m a sexy motherfucker.”
“Oh.”
“What?”, Steve’s eyes shift up excitedly.
“You didn’t feel that?”
When he shakes his head, you place his hand closer to the side you felt movement, gesturing for the other demon to do the same.
“Say something else.”
“Hey Ellis. This is your other daddy and I assure you we are very handsome.”
“Holy shit.”, Steve exhales as he grins up towards his partner. “That’s amazing.”
“I’m glad you agree, kid.”, Eddie smiles.

6 Months Pregnant
Eddie growls at the crib he was trying to assemble as his glowing red eyes glare at the instructions again. Over these past couple of months, you three had made your dad’s old room your bedroom and begun shifting the room you used to sleep in into Ellis’s.
Going off his personality from your dreams, you painted the room blue with images of guitars along the base boards and up along the ridges of the ceiling. Near where his crib would be, you put up pictures of everyone in his family that loved him including Robin, Wayne, Dustin, and everyone who had passed that he had been conversing with these past six months.
The boys were able to get everything a baby would need from your realm but also from theirs including those books that Eddie had wrote and some toys demons normally played with at a young age.
“Whoever invented these contraptions should be tortured for eternity.”, Eddie grunted as he tried again putting a few of the pieces together.
“You guys don’t have cribs in your realm?”
“Yeah but they were like boxes essentially. Or at least mine was. I’m sure Steven had gold porcelain or some shit.”
“No.”, Steve chuckled as he took the wrong part from his partner’s hand and handed him the correct one. “I had a regular little wooden thing with soft blankets.”
“I wish I could see what you two were like as kids.”
Since they left Maeve, they weren’t able to snap memories into your head like they were before. It hurt them more than you because you always seemed curious about them and they wished they could show you everything from their point of view, not Henry’s or Mirage’s.
“How much did Mirage show you?”
“She showed me big events more than anything. Steve always looking for his parents especially your mom. She did play sword fight with you once and you looked so happy until your dad yelled at her for ‘ruining your training’.” You rolled your eyes as Steve pet your head and sighed. “Eddie, I did see what your uncle told me about with your mom singing to you.” The demon’s glow receded in his eyes as he glanced your way with a small smile.
“Until my father told her to shut up?”
Tilting forward, you crawled over his work to kiss his lips making his smile widen as he caressed your face.
“What about your parents, honey?”
“Both my parents were amazing. My dad always loved to make us laugh. He liked being a girl dad and my mom exploited that.”, you giggle. “She would make him wear tutus while I would do his makeup and they both would dance.”
A tear left your eyes and both demons promptly gave you their attention.
“I’m sorry you guys don’t have your parents here. You both deserve better.”
“Baby, it’s ok—”
“Eddie it’s not okay.”
“Will you let me finish?”, he jokes. “It’s ok because I had my mom and I had Wayne. Then as I got older I got my other family. Steven, Robin, Chrissy, and even Dustin. Now, sweetheart, I have you two and Ellis. I couldn’t be happier.”
“I agree. I’m thankful for the memories I do have with my mom but the kids I trained and beings I fought with…that was my family. I’m so excited to see what’s in store for us, you know. See what Ellis is going to do with his life.”
You smiled as you kissed their lips before you wince and lean away.
“Ow. Little butthead is kicking my side.”
“Hey, kid.”, Eddie teases as he tilts towards your tummy. “Why don’t you stop hurting your mother and come help me make your torture technic of a crib.”

8 months Pregnant
You, Steve, and Eddie walked into the house you three had been in so many times these last few months except now it was completely empty. All the furniture and everything was completely absent as you entered the living room full of people.
“Ellis?”
Everyone in the room moved out of the way to where Eddie’s mom was hugging her grandson to her chest as he sobbed.
“I don wanna go!”
“You have to, baby. Your mommy and daddies need you now. They’ve been waiting so long to see you.”
“Mom?”, Eddie asked as he stepped towards her. “What’s going on?”
She softly smiled as she handed him to your father who spun him around as he chuckled but your son just buried his face further in his neck.
“Come on, little guy. Your parents have made you an awesome bedroom and knowing my daughter she’s going to show you so many amazing things.”
The little boy shook his head as your dad kissed his temple before handing him to your mom.
“Steven, remember, you once told me that everything would be ok and you were right. I’ve watched you both take care of my baby and I assure you, you both are going to be more than ok. You are going to be amazing parents.”
He beamed at him as he wrapped his arms around the demon and pulled him in for a hug.
Your mother grinned as she reached out to touch your face as you started to cry.
“I’m scared to do this without you.”, you whisper.
Your parent’s smiles widen as she kisses her grandson and places him in your arms.
“We’re not going anywhere. We’re always right here.”, she soothes as she points to Ellis’s forehead. “Right behind that door, honey.”
“I love you.”, you son coos as each grandparent reciprocates his affection.
As both your demons come to your side, you look down to no longer see a toddler but a newborn baby wiggling in your arms. Steve gently pets his head as Eddie reaches for his tiny hand that immediately clings to his finger.
All of your eyes shoot open but yours is followed by a grunt as you place your hands on your stomach.
“Fuck! I think…”
They don’t waste any time as they collect you and your things before rushing towards the hospital.
***
“How long are they going to keep him back there?”, Eddie growled as he held your hand.
“Calm down. Y/N said this was normal. They need to clean him, check his vitals, and all that.”
“Yeah, but Steven, what if something comes up in those vitals that frightens a human.”
The other demon’s eyes flash red in warning in his direction as a low rumble leaves his chest.
“Maybe we should have had him in your realm.”, you respond groggily as your heavy eyes shift their way.
“Baby, don’t let Edward scare you, ok? He’s fine. He’s got more human in him right now than anything. Dustin said he would grow into his demon parts.”
“He also said we’re the first couple ever to do this so…”
“Edward Munson, I swear—“, Steve’s anger was cut short when the door to your hospital room opened and a nurse casually sauntered in.
“Hey Munson-Harrington family.”, she smiles. “We have little Ellis here fast asleep and everything looks good. Mommy, how are you feeling?”
“Like I gave birth.” The nurse laughs at your joke as your demons roll their eyes. “I’m alright. A bit exhausted.”
“Yeah, that’s normal, sweetheart. Good news is your baby is in perfect health. Would you like to meet him?” Your eyes fully open as you sit up, smiling softly when she places him in your arms.  “I’ll come check on you three in a bit.”
Tears start to fall as you fully take him in. Right now, he seemed like a completely normal child with soft skin and just a sliver of brown hair poking out of his blue beanie.
“Hey, honey. You’re so handsome. I’m your mommy.”, you coo in a whisper as you kiss his forehead. “Oh my god, he smells so good.”, you laugh as you look their way.
Eddie was the first to step forward, sitting beside you on the bed as he caressed his son’s chubby little cheek with his finger.
“Holy shit. He’s so soft.”, he breathes. “You’re perfect, kid.”
Steve finally takes a seat as well and reaches out to feel his tiny hand.
“He’s warm to. Is that normal?” When you nod, he almost breathes a sigh of relief. “Ellis, we’re your daddies. You ARE perfect, oh my god.”
The baby squirms a bit in your hold giving them pause before pulling away.
“I think that was his way of saying thank you.”, you smile.

3 Weeks Old
“Fascinating.”, Dustin muses as he rocks Ellis in his arms while swaying around the living room. “He really does look just like a little human with the soft skin and everything. Nothing has stood out?”
“Can you stop analyzing our baby and just enjoy him?”, Eddie snaps as he sighs.
“No, nothing.”, you giggle, answering his question. “And so far he seems to eat but not as much as normal babies.”
“How so?”
“Babies are supposed to eat every two hours; we’ve been feeding him every six. I was worried at first but we just took him the doctor and she said he was healthy. When I tried to give him a bottle every two he would cry and push at my hands.”
“Interesting. That has to be hard, Y/N. Him not being able to verbally tell you things like that. I hated when my kids cried in general but you…you still have that whole trial and error thing going.”
Glancing towards your demons, Eddie had fallen asleep with his head nestled in Steve’s lap on the couch who was already napping when Dustin arrived.
“It is. I appreciate everything you’ve done for us though and I know they do to. I’ve been keeping a record like you suggested should this ever happen for anyone else.”
“Good.” When he notices your gaze shift again, he takes a seat on the floor beside you and lays Ellis on the blanket between you both. “Everything ok with you three?”
“Yeah, I’m just a little worried. They were both already so protective over me and now that he’s here… Steve’s been having nightmares. He pretends he doesn’t but I hear him groaning in his sleep and feel him wake up. I asked him the other night if he still has access to my dreams and he said he can’t find the door anymore.”
A tear fell down your check as Dustin reached out to comfort you.
“As I’m sure you’ve noticed, Eddie’s attitude has been a lot shorter lately. He’s exhausted and worried about the three of us. He triple checks everything to the point that I find him asleep on the floor by Ellis’s crib because he’s too tired to make it back to our bed and would just rather be closer to his son just in case.”
“What about you? Besides the worry I mean.”
“I know I’m probably being paranoid but sometimes I feel like we’re being watched. It may just be because of our dynamic. I know not everyone is excepting like the new friends we’ve made but no one has said anything… I don’t know. Just…mom brain maybe.”
“Hm, maybe. Keep an eye on that. From what you’ve told me, you’re always pretty intuitive. Wouldn’t want to miss something you know?”

5 Weeks Old
“Oh my god, Y/N, look at him.”, Lisa coos at Ellis as she holds him in her arms.
“Are you alright, Steve? You look like you haven’t slept.”, Shawn chuckles.
“Yeah, I’m doing alright. Just…little guy keeping me up.”, he forces a smile.
Your friends were having a get together for veterans and their families and since Steve worked at the center you suggested you three should go and be seen. Truthfully, you thought it would be good for them both to get out of the house as well as having him specifically spend some time with his new veteran friends to talk about anything that may be weighing on his mind causing his nightmares.
As the night wore on you noticed their soft grins return to their faces as he and Eddie mingled with the people around them. They radiated warmth as they talked about their son and everything he had done with his short little life so far.
“Have you guys started baby proofing yet? I swear when my daughter started crawling it was like she knew which areas were the bad ones!”
“Oh no, not yet. He did smile at Y/N the other day. Ellis has a beautiful little grin.”, Steve boasts.
“At that age usually it’s just reflexive. They see you guys smiling so…”
“Isn’t that all babies though? Like that’s how they learn?”, Eddie genuinely asks as the dads around him laugh.
“Yeah but who knows some babies are different! You may just have an extremely happy baby who couldn’t wait to show you guys how much he loves being here.”
Time passed and a few of the guests left, leaving the main few that you had really gotten to know. You all sat in the living room while Eddie patted his son’s back as Ellis slept soundly. Steve tenderly petted the baby’s head as you beamed at them from your place in the chair across from them.
“So how has everything else been going?”, Thomas asks as he chugs back some of the beer in his bottle.
“Everything has been good, man. Just focusing on them, ya know?”
“Yeah, I understand. When my son was born, that first night I checked on him every hour on the hour. Then for some reason I kept checking on my wife. I knew our son needed us both and I kept thinking ‘What if something happened to either of us?’”
“I can understand that. I, uh, before Y/N and Steve, I lost a lot of people I loved and there was nothing I could do. Now that Ellis is here…it would kill me if anything ever happened to him.”
“Do you have nightmares about it? About losing them?”
“I don’t but Stevie here does.”, Eddie answers causing Steve to toss a glare his way.
“I do but it’s fine. It’s not a big deal.”
“I had them to. Sometimes I would dream they were on the battlefield I fought in. I would run to them but I could never quite reach them.”, Thomas sighs at the memory. “What do you dream about?”
“It’s fine really.”
You’re not sure if anyone else heard but you and Eddie did as the demon’s voice fluctuated to his real one for a split second.
“Steven…”
“It’s ok, Y/N. Like I said, I get it. If you talk about it, it gives it validity right? You’d hate to manifest something like that into existence. Someone killing Y/N and your son.”
Steve’s eyes closed as his head ticked to the side.
“Ok, Tom, I appreciate what you’re trying to do but I’m putting my foot down. You’re going to push him too far and he’s already got enough on his mind.”, Eddie defended rising to his feet and handing you the baby.
“Ah, you’re the enabler I imagine. You allow him to shelter his feelings so he doesn’t have to deal with them.”
“You’re damn right I do. You humans have no idea what we’ve been through!”
“Interesting word choice. Is that how you separate people from your experiences?”
“Come on, guys, let’s head home.” As the long-haired demon grabbed his boyfriend’s arm, he remained frozen in place. Kneeling in front of him, he cupped his face in his hands. “Steven, it’s ok alright. You don’t have to talk about anything you don’t want to. Let’s go home and get some sleep, huh?”
When the demon finally opened his eyes, Eddie’s widen in fear; he knew this look all too well. As subtly as he could, he got to his feet and towards the front door with you trailing after him.
“Steven—”
Once the wind of the outside hit your faces, he expanded his wings, cutting you off as he vanished into the air.
***
“Edward, baby, are you ok?”
Eddie nodded from his place on the floor next Ellis who was sleeping soundly beside him. After laying down as well, he softly smiles your way as he continues caressing the baby’s open hand.
“DO I enable him, Y/N?”
“Eddie…”
“I just…we went through so much… Every day I had to watch the man I love breakdown. Even when we were out, summoners never treated us with any kind of respect. They knew we wouldn’t be there for long. In our realm, he was hero and with one choice, he was banished and imprisoned…because of me.”
“No, Eddie. Everything you two went through was because of Henry. He killed Chrissy and framed you. Jason didn’t give Steve much of a choice. He was going to disobey orders and hurt you.”
“I always tried to make it up to him… I tried not to show my feelings, pretending I didn’t care we were trapped. Pretending I wasn’t scared and just as angry as he was. I’ve done that my whole life, Y/N. When my mom got sick, I did everything I could to make her laugh so she wouldn’t see how devastated I was. Every time my father came home upset, I acted like I was tough but I was fucking terrified, baby. I was so scared.”
A tear fell from his eye and your immediately wiped it away with your thumb.
“When he fled, I was afraid for my uncle. I didn’t even think twice when I signed up but I was positive I wouldn’t last a month out there on the battlefield. Steven and Robin helped me become a better fighter. With Chris I pretended to be more together than I was. She had enough on her plate at the time and I wanted her to feel safe.”
“It seems like that’s why you pretend, Eddie, so the people you love feel safe.”
Sitting up, he started to cry harder and you immediately crawled to him, curling up in his lap as you held him in your arms.
The sound you recognized as a portal opening grabbed both your attention as you called Steve’s name.
“Hey, no, sorry. It’s just me. I have him here though.”, Robin answered as she came around the corner with the demon leaning half-conscious around her shoulders. “My girlfriend sent me a message saying he was there at the bar. He had been babbling about how human drinks aren’t strong enough and something about you two and Ellis.”
After leading her to the bedroom, she gently placed Steve onto the mattress. When Eddie entered the room, she smiled when she saw your son’s wide eyes looking back at her.
“He woke up.”, the demon announced as Ellis yawned to emphasis his point.
“You need to let your parents get some rest, booger.”, Robin coos as she pokes his nose making him smile.
“Some of our friends said for human babies around this time smiles like that are a reflex.”
“Yeah but he’s not entirely human and that beautiful, drool filled grin didn’t seem reflexive.”, she responded. “It seems like he can handle the demon skin since he’s letting us touch him.”
“Yeah, I think that’s the potion.”, you nod as you reach out to tickle the baby’s chin. “Thank you for bringing Steve back, Robin.”
Softly smiling, she leans down to kiss your forehead.
“Seriously, you and Ellis are so soft—”
“Ay yi, ma’am. This human is ours.”, Eddie playfully scolds as he swats his hand in her direction.
***
Loud banging and clinking echoes behind the door you’re looking at as smoke occasionally slips through the seams. Taking a long exhale, you reach for the handle but someone tapping your shoulder startles you as you turn and smack the person’s face.
“Ow! Jesus woman. How many times are you going to pop me?!”, Eddie whines as he rubs his cheek.
“Edward, how did you—”
“I don’t know. I’ve been looking for the door for months. Maybe you finally calmed me down enough to know what I’m looking for.” Nodding, you kiss his lips. “So what’s the plan?”
“I think…this is Steve’s door. I don’t know. I’ve been trying to access his dreams but I haven’t been able to.”
Holding your hand, he carefully turns the knob and you both step through. Glancing down at his attire, Eddie realizes he’s suddenly in his old battle armor and you both are on the battlefield they fought on all those centuries ago.
“Why am I not in armor?”
“I mean, you weren’t there, baby.”
“What the fuck are you two doing here?!”, Steve’s father shrieks above you as he lands on his feet. “Leave. NOW. My son needs to learn his lesson.”
“YOU’VE been giving him his nightmares?”, you growl.
“Not exactly. He started having them on his own but I’ve been fueling them.”
Shifting your gaze behind him, you both watch as Steve slaughters enemy after enemy, panting as he slowly tires himself out.
“Steven! Do better! You think these fuckers are going to show mercy on your son?! You have to do what I taught you to get the truth!”
Eddie gripped Bill’s throat and angrily threw him to the ground.
“You made your hell his hell, you fucking asshole. He told me all about you and everything you did to him. You ruined his life enough! Leave him be.”
“Please. He’s doing this to himself. He’s worried about you two peasants and that thing. I’m making him better. Stronger.”
Grabbing a sword from the ground, you lift the handle and point the other end towards his throat.
“You heard him. Leave Steven alone or else I swear to God, Bill, I will find a way myself to keep you in hell.”
Growling under his breath, he tried to stand but you and Eddie forced him back down with your weapons. Huffing he suddenly disappeared as well as every other solider that had fallen around the other demon.
“Ed-Edward?”, Steve panted heavily when you noticed you both there. “Y/N? What are you…? It doesn’t matter. We need to get to Ellis or else Henry’s going to kill him. We have to—”
“Baby, look at me.”, Eddie tried to soothe as he cupped his cheeks in his hands. “You’re dreaming ok? Henry is gone and Ellis is in his crib fast asleep.”
“N-No. No? I can hear him. I can hear him crying! Can’t you hear that?!”
“Steven—”
“NO!”, the demon growls loudly as he shoves the man he loves hard backwards. “Who are you?! You’re not Edward. Y-You’re…You’re trying to trick me. Are you Mirage? Did Henry and his dad hire you to stop me?!”
“Steven…”, Eddie cried with worry as he threw the sword he was holding to the ground and held up his hands. “Sweetheart, please, it’s me. I promise. I would never hurt you like that. I would never keep you from our son.”
As he tried to step forward, the other demon shoved him to the ground.
“I-I-I need to get to my son.”, Steve sobbed as his voice cracked. “I know you’re not Eddie. Tell me where he is.”
When he didn’t answer, he pulled back and pushed his weapon downward.
The sound of your grunt filled their ears as your eyes met Steve’s wide glassy ones. When you both looked down, blood drenched his sword where it had pushed through your stomach and around your back.
“Baby?”
Looking up at him again, you smiled through the pain as blood dripped from your lips.
“Why…why does it hurt?”
The three of you opened your eyes at the same time as you sat up clutching your stomach. Lifting up your shirt, there was no wound but it felt so real. You could still feel the stinging pain lingering on your skin.
Eddie’s head slowly turned meeting Steve’s still shocked expression as is mouth hung open in shock.
“I—”
The long-haired demon’s growl cut him off as his eyes glowed bright red.
“Take us to another realm that we can fucking damage NOW.” You didn’t say anything as Steve rose to his feet with his head hung preparing a portal for them to go through. “Stay here.”
Coming around the bed, he waited for the other demon to finish as you peeked into the world they’d be going to. It was completely baron with nothing but white as far as the eye can see.
“Fitting.”, Eddie responded in anger as he and the other demon walked inside.
As the portal began to close, you quickly got up and jumped through right as it disappeared.
You knew Eddie may be mad but after what happened this wasn’t something you were going to let them handle alone.

Steddie x fem!reader - Moving in together
A/n: idk who I’ve become. All I can think about is how lovely the vibe in a poly relationship w Eddie and Steve would be. So, I present you domestic Steddie. Definitely a fix-it fic; everyone lives, Eddie graduated, and vecna is bye bye! Set sometime in ‘87. I will likely make this a little series depending on feedback!!! (gif by x; banner by x)
Warnings: some cursing. Some fluff. Eddie is dramatic. little mention of sex if u squint. Wc: 3.6 k. Masterlist
Tumblr media
Between the three of you, finding a place to move into wasn’t difficult. You knew you’d be able to afford it, even with you in school, as Eddie’s band picked up more gigs, and Steve was starting to work for his dad soon. You were all doing well, felt supported by each other and the others in your lives.
The difficult part of finding a place involved the big question: how do we divide up the rooms?
Eddie, clingy and the biggest cuddler, insisted that you all share a king sized bed and only needed the one room. Steve, who liked cleanliness, and no matter how much Eddie tried to convert him, did not want metal posters all over his room, insisted that you each have separate rooms.
‘I like my space!’
‘Two of the three bedrooms are going to be unoccupied most of the time, Stevie! You want space? I will come knock on your door every night out of spite!”
You honestly had no clue what the right choice was. One bedroom clearly wouldn’t be enough, but you understood Eddie’s statement about wasted space.
However, with some advice from friends, and a lot of back and forth, the three of you settled on three bedrooms. Well, Eddie still thought it was ridiculous, and Steve was too smug about it, but whatever. This gave you each enough space to sort out your own things, which you admittedly liked. After years of having your own room, you weren’t sure you were ready to suddenly combine your taste with these two men, who also had very opposing tastes to one another.
When moving day came along, the three of you were buzzing with excitement at the prospect of finally living together. For over a year, there was constant back and forth between your places, constant phone calls or late nights in Eddie’s van. Now? You had a shared space to yourselves. No watchful eyes from your parents or passing strangers. It was just the three of you.
You were ever grateful for the people in your lives who helped with the move. El’s powers were especially useful as she could help with some “heavy lifting.” No movers required. Just some teenagers, super powers, and a strong police chief.
As boxes and furniture were brought in, Eddie was slowly becoming quite the drama queen.
Kind and innocent, Will walked through the front door with a big box in his arms. Very messily on the top, someone has screwed Band stuff. Will was wide eyed and excited to be helping out, and asked, “Does this go in Eddie’s room?”
Steve was passing by and glanced over. The corner of his mouth turned up. “Oh yeah. That’s definitely Eddie’s.”
Eddie popped out of nowhere (well, he popped out of his room which he was trying to set up). “Another box for me? Little Ol’ me?”
Will seemed pleased. He started heading over to Eddie’s room. Eddie though, sighed dramatically and leaned against the wall.
“I’ll take it,” Eddie told him like his life was ending, “To my lonely little room. Where I reside all alone!”
“Jesus,” Steve muttered. He’d been dealing with this all day.
Eddie read the writing on the box. “My band stuff! Wow. Hey, Will? William? Can you believe this guy doesn’t want sick band stuff in his room? Instead, I’m shunned away. All alone! Just me and my things!”
Steve walked by Eddie in the hallway towards the bedrooms, purposefully bumping Eddie’s shoulder. “Yup. Bye!”
Eddie gasped and looked at Will. “Did you just see that?”
Steve pointed at Will before heading into his own room. “Don’t listen to him. Walk away.”
Will slowly stepped backward, laughing nervously. “Uh! Alright! I’ll go see what’s left in the truck.”
Eddie waved him off and turned to go back in his room. “I’ll go back to being ALONE, I guess!”
“Shut up, Eddie!” Steve yelled from the other room.
Just as Will was trying to run away, you had entered the apartment alongside El and Max, the three of you each carrying a box. All the stuff for your bedroom was already in, along with the big furniture pieces, so all that remained in the truck now were assorted things like kitchen supplies or holiday decor.
“What the hell kind of Halloween decorations are these!” Max huffed, carrying what seemed to be the heaviest box in the world.
Once again, Eddie poked his head out of his room. “Oh, the Halloween stuff!”
“Of course it’s yours,” she glared.
You just giggled. “It’s ours. Well, mainly came from Eddie, but me and Steve helped pick out a lot last fall. Wayne and Eddie’s trailer was all done up. It was great.”
Eddie grinned at you, his heart warming at the memory. “Can't wait for next month so we can start putting it up here. We can get more, too!”
“I doubt you need more!” Max placed the box down on the ground. “I would ask where I should put this, but I don’t want to move it anymore. You deal with it.”
Giddy with excitement, the moment you put down the box you held, labeled pots and pans, you wrapped your arms around Eddie’s shoulders and gave him a big kiss on the cheek. “We can get whatever Halloween decor you’d like.”
El made a face, turning away from the two of you.
“Don’t let Steve put any in his room,” Eddie told you. You honestly didn’t think he was joking. “He doesn’t want any fun in there.”
“I’m not getting involved.”
Eddie’s brows raised. “I think it’s a little late for you to not get involved, sweetheart.”
Then, Joyce wandered in, holding a couple smaller boxes. She had a big smile on her face and was being followed by Robin and Dustin.
“This is officially it!” She said proudly. She put the boxes down on the kitchen counter a little forcefully for the dramatica, but quickly apologized when she heard it shake.
“How do you guys have so much stuff?” Robin muttered.
Dustin was grinning and glancing at you and Eddie, whose arms were still around each other. “I think most of it was Eddie’s.”
Eddie gave Dustin a glare. “What’s wrong with that, huh?”
“Nothing at all, sweetie,” You peered up at Eddie.
Steve called from the –his bedroom, “Did I hear that you’ve got everything!”
You didn’t reply to him, insead just lit up as you thought, “Let’s order some pizza then! Take a break from everything. We all deserve it.”
Joyce had a little grin, “One step ahead of you. Hopper, Mike and Lucas all went to pick some up already. Goodness, you two, come here!”
Eddie did not move, and instead looked a little afraid by the fact that Joyce was stepping closer. Before he knew it, Joyce was reaching forward to give both you and Eddie a little squish of your cheeks before she pulled you into a group hug.
“I’m so proud! Look at you, all grown up.”
Max was helping herself to opening up the moving boxes. You heard the big tear of tape and saw she was kneeling down, exploring the box of “kitchen-shit.”
“Thank you?” Eddie was peering at you over Joyce’s shoulder with a very startled expression.
She pulled back to look at the both of you. “This is going to be so good for all of you. After everything? A fresh start?”
You were already sensing the tears threatening to sting your eyes, so you hushed her, “Thank you, Joyce. How about we start unpacking some stuff, huh? Eds, can you turn on some music?”
He looked too excited. “Shit, I’m in charge of music? I’ll grab my stereo.”
As he was running back to his room, Steve was exiting his own. He paused after Eddie, “Where are you going?”
“I’m in charge of music, baby!”
“Ah, geez, already?”
Eddie winked, “You love it.”
Steve didn’t deny it, and headed toward the main room. He was instantly ambushed by Joyce who held both his cheeks because he was one person not two. You watched the exchange, covering your mouth to keep from laughing when you saw how squished his lips were and how frazzled he looked.
“There you are,” Joyce sighed, “I was just saying how proud I am of you all.”
Unlike you and Eddie, Steve actually snapped out of his fearful look a lot faster and he was the one initiating the hug first. Joyce accepted it happily.
“Hey, Steve, quit slackin’ and help us unpack your kitchen,” Dustin told him, mainly teasing, but Steve frowned at him anyway.
“I’ll have you know, Dustin, that I have already set up the main bathroom. If any of you stinkers needs it? It’s ready to go! You’re welcome.”
Max held up a stack of plates, “Where should we put these?”
Will squinted at her. “Should we wash things first? Who knows what dusty bugs are on Eddie’s Halloween decorations.”
“Ew,” Max scrunched her nose.
“What the hell, Will,” you shot him a look but just shook your head. “But yeah, we can quickly wash some stuff. That’d be great.”
Eddie soon came back with his stereo, already playing one of his favourite tapes. It was a little too loud, but no one complained. He had the biggest smile on his face and no one was about to turn that down. Besides, it was his first time getting a say, getting to make decisions on his own, getting to have a place to be a little freer.
A nice harmony washed over all of you over the next while. Dishes were cleaned and tried in no time with everyone helping out. Everyone would give their two cents over which drawer should hold utensils, or which drawer should be the “junk drawer.” Boxes were being deconstructed the more you emptied; the more you made this place a home.
It was a strange feeling, having a place of your own, with the two people you loved the most. It was even stranger, sitting at your kitchen table, surrounded by the others as you all ate pizza. If someone had told you a year ago that this is where you’d be now, you’d wonder what we were smoking. Yet here you were. Eddie and Steve seemed to keep thinking the same thing, periodically making eye contact, their expressions softer than ever.
The sun outside was setting. The takeout boxes were gathered, and everyone felt full and content.
The group said their goodbyes slowly, lingering around a little bit, not quite ready to say goodbye.
‘It’s not goodbye forever,’ you had to remind Steve, who had the hardest time saying goodnight to Dustin. “He literally lives five minutes away.’
‘Take care, okay?’ Joyce told you after giving you a tight squeeze.
Hopper even gave Eddie a pat on the back. ‘If you need anything, don’t hesitate to call.’
‘Hey,’ Lucas nudged Max, ‘How long do you think it’ll take them to get a noise complaint from all this music?’
She snorted. ‘Definitely by tomorrow.’
‘Hey!’ Eddie yelled.
By the time you were alone, the sun had set, and even with the music still playing, the apartment felt quiet.
It was peaceful though. It would take a while to take it all in.
“Hey,” Steve broke the silence, standing in the middle of the main room. Eddie was peering out the window, trying to absorb the new view, while you were staring in the cupboards, trying to decide if you liked the placement of the kitchenware. (Spoilers: you didn’t. You’d be completely rearranging it in the morning).
“Yeah?” Eddie looked over his shoulder at Steve. You’d also looked over.
Steve momentarily bit his lip. “We did it!”
From across the room, you and Eddie glanced at one another. Before you knew it, Eddie broke into a huge grin.
“We did it, huh?” Eddie tilted his head.
Steve made a gesture around the room. “We have our own place! A-and clean dishes!”
“Yeah, speaking of,” you hummed, “I don’t think I like the placement.”
“My, oh my,” Eddie said with a dramatic roll of his eyes as he sauntered over to Steve, “Deal with the dishes later, dear. C’mere.”
Steve was already there of course, and was embraced by Eddie. On instinct, Eddie tucked his hand just under the cozy blue knit of Steve’s shirt.
“Y/nnnn,” Eddie repeated, drawing your name out.
You shut the cupboards and quickly dashed over, “Yeah, yeah.”
The arms of your boyfriends opened up for you, including you in the warm embrace. Eddie squeezed you and Steve tightly with a satisfied hum.
“Oh yeah, this is the stuff,” Eddie mumbled, cheek squished against the side of your head. “You two are just the best roommates. I’m just so excited to be roommates.”
Steve groaned and pulled back, “Don’t ruin the nice moment.”
Eddie held his hands up in defense. “Sorry, sorry. Okay, seriously. I’m proud of us.”
You eyed him. “You sure you’ll be okay with your own room?”
“Pshh, yeah,” Eddie shrugged. “We all have very different bedspreads. Our styles would clash.”
Steve just shook his head, his eyes so very fond of Eddie.
“Hey, wait, where should we sleep tonight?” You questioned. This wasn’t something you’d considered until right this moment.
Whenever the three of you were spending the night somewhere, it was a given that you’d just share the bed. It’s not like you were ever in a situation where there was more than one bed anyway. Now, there are three times the amount of beds!
Eddie scratched the back of his neck. “We should all switch. Just to be a little crazy. I’ll take your bed, and Steve you take my bed.”
“What the hell?”
Eddie chuckled and wrapped his arms around the two of you again. “Okay, okay. I guess we should just sleep in our own rooms, right? Get used to the new place?”
Steve eyed Eddie suspiciously. “Are you sure? I thought you were going to demand we all sleep in the living room like a slumber party.”
“That does sound like Eddie.”
Eddie raised a brow. “Well, Harrington, that is a great idea! But alas, I have to be practical sometimes.”
“Baby,” you brushed your fingers against Eddie’s jaw, “If you’re too nervous to spend the night alone you can just say so.”
“I’m serious!”
“Okay, honey, but I’m just across the hall if you need me!”
“My god, y/n,” Eddie groaned but he was grinning ear to ear. “I’m respecting your spaces, okay? We have plenty of nights to cuddle by the fire– hey, now that we live alone we can all do that naked.”
Steve’s eyes fluttered. He didn’t hate that idea.
“Oh, by the way, should we have a bathroom schedule? Or rules? Especially that there’s only the one shower,” Eddie looked too concerned by this. You’d already all sat down and discussed some logistics before moving in, such as how cleaning routines would work, and how you’d make dinners work out with all your schedules. A shower schedule had never come up, and it just seemed like a ridiculous thing anyway.
“Uh,” Steve thought for a moment then shrugged. “Schedules seem stupid. Simply, if the door is locked, go away. If it’s unlocked, come in?”
“I’m fine with that rule,” you shrugged too.
“Perfect,” Eddie put a hand on both yours and Steve’s shoulder. “Great doing business with you two. Now, I’m going to take the first shower of Casa Munson. I am locking the door, because I want privacy, you freaks.”
You and Steve wanted to roll your eyes, but had trouble holding back your smiles. There was no way to not love Eddie, no matter how dramatic he was.
The late night and your tiredness took over eventually. The music was shut off for the night, the curtains drawn, and your triad split between your individual rooms for the night. It felt weird as hell, saying goodnights in the hallway before shutting the door behind you. But your new room was inviting, you felt excited at all this newness, and you let yourself enjoy it on your own.
Unfortunately, this giddiness manifested into a restless slumber.
You’d been tossing for what felt like forever. It was around one in the morning, and although you didn’t feel feverish or anything, you swore it was too hot with the blanket, but too cold without. You tried opening your window, but that made it too breezy. The white noise coming from the hum of the building or the distant outdoor sounds was all nice and stuff, but it was just new. Everything was too new and you didn’t know how to deal with it.
Just as you were trying to recall if you had any sleep syrup, or even recall which box that would’ve been in, you heard the lightest three knocks at the door.
It was too new a sound, and even though it was so quiet, you were sure it was real. When the pattern of knocks happened once again.
“Yn?” came the quiet whisper of Steve’s voice.
You sat up slowly, rubbing your tired eyes. “Stevie?”
He cracked the door open just an inch, peeking through. When he saw you were up and not shoo-ing him away, he let himself into view more.
He tilted his head fondly. “You’re so sweet and sleepy.”
“Mhm, mhm,” you nodded before taking a deep yawn. “Everything okay?”
“No,” he admitted. “I can’t sleep.” “Hm,” you hummed groggily. “Me neither. C’mere, babe.”
Steve nearly moaned. “Thank god.” He was closing the door and at your side in a matter of seconds. “Missed you.”
As Steve lied on his back at your side, you scooted up a bit so that you could lie just higher than him. You draped an arm over his shoulders and kissed his temple. He was in boxers but had a t-shirt on, which is how he always slept. Tonight’s shirt happened to be one of Eddie’s, which just made your heart melt. Steve always looked adorable in Eddie’s darker band-tees. It was so misplaced on him and it just worked.
“Missed you too,” you sighed, your finger running along his collar bone.
“I miss Eddie too,” he pouted. “Just, I can’t admit that to him. That’d be admitting defeat!”
“You two are so ridiculous.”
“I bet he’s sleeping so well, all alone in his stupid bed with his stupid sheets. That guy can sleep anywhere. Probably forgets we are just a door away.”
“We could go check?”
“No,” Steve’s eyes widened at you. “Defeat, y/n! I can’t do it.”
You giggled. “It’s not defeat. Having our own rooms is a great idea, especially when it’ll come to work and studying. However, I think I’d lose my mind if I had to sleep alone every night.”
He examined your sleepy expression. “You’re smart, you know that?”
“And sweet and sleepy?”
He kissed your nose. “Mhm. And sweet and sleepy.”
Your eyes felt so heavy, but even in Steve’s arms, you didn’t feel as content as you could. “Can we get Eddie?”
“Please.”
You yawned again before sitting up with a big stretch. You then lightly patted Steve’s chest, going to stand. “Let’s go get that weirdo.”
Steve followed instantly, his hands finding your waist in the dark as he followed you out your room. Eddie’s door was seriously just across from yours, one step away, but it still felt too far.
Because respecting privacy was important, you knocked a couple times even though you could hear Eddie’s little snores.
Steve peaked over your shoulder as you cracked the door open. He let out a breathy laugh against you. “See. Told you. Guy totally forgot all about us.”
“Shh,” You gave him a look but couldn’t help it,  kissing his cheek.
You and Steve went to the side of Eddie’s bed. Steve knelt down a little, you behind him, and he lightly ran his fingers up Eddie’s bare arms. While Steve slept with a shirt and no pants, Eddie was the opposite. You and Steve adored it, eating up the sight of his tattoos each night.
“Hey, Eds?” Steve whispered, shaking Eddie’s arm lightly.
Still asleep, Eddie made a grumbly sound.
Steve smiled at the sound. “Hey, Eddie?”
Eddie groaned, his nose scrucnhing momentarily, which was a telltale sign that he was semi-conscious. “Steve?”
“Yeah. Listen, wake up for a sec.”
Groaning again, Eddie mumbled what sounded like jesus Christ, and I’m sleeping, but he shuffled around before his eyes slowly peaked open.
“What are you freaks doing?” Eddie asked.
You gave him your best innocent face. “We couldn’t sleep.”
Eddie, more awake now, glanced between the two of you. Something was computing, then he groaned again and rubbed his eyes. “Couldn’t stay away from Mr. Eddie, huh?”
“Can we get in bed with you?” Steve asked, his fingers trailing Eddie’s arm again.
Eddie let out a satisfied little hum. “Get in here.”
It was a little unexpected what a relief this all was. You honestly thought that you’d have a lovely sleep by yourself in your new room. But the moment you felt Eddie’s arms wrap around you, and you knew Steve was nestled on the other side of him, you let out a content sigh at the familiarity of it all.
“This is the stuff,” you sighed, repeating Eddie’s words from earlier. Your eyes were already falling shut again, much easier this time.
“It truly is,” he hummed, pressing a kiss to your shoulder before getting all snug.
New was nice. But there was no need for everything to be new. This was not a habit you wanted to let go of, and you didn’t think it ever would go away.

14. “I know you’re the president of the Anti-Social Club, but why don’t you join me?”
_____
Steve couldn't believe he had agreed to this. He was in hell, for sure. Steve would take the Upside Down over being back here in Hawkins High. But he just couldn't say no to Robin. He had begun to think it was near impossible to say no to her. Especially when her voice got raspy and sad, and she did that fucking head tilt.
Steve honestly wasn't sure how Rob hadn't managed to get laid yet. She was charming when she didn't try. Steve wasn't even remotely attracted to her, the girl was his sister at this point, and yet she had managed to make him melt repeatedly. The only people who had managed to make him cave without romantic feelings involved were the kids, so she had to have some sort of game.
Still, Steve can't believe he gave in to the prom.
Robin had wanted to go so badly, though, which had surprised him. Very conformist of Robin, but Steve understood the need to fit in, even in your last moments. And Robin had told him if she didn't get to go with who she really wanted, if she didn't get to go with a girl, she wanted to go with her best friend. So sue him; he caved and went to prom with her.
"I'm not wearing a tie." He had told her.
He was wearing a fucking tie. Purple to match her dress.
The only thing that made it better was Eddie was stuck with him in his misery.
"Look at them." Eddie nodded to the dancefloor from his seat. Apparently, Eddie's weak point had been Nancy, of all people. And he wasn't even attracted to her (he'd insisted on the matter, in fact. And considering his own friendship with Robin, he was inclined to believe him). They had become weird friends over the past few months. So much so that Eddie came to the one place he swore would only see him for graduation. Steve had to admire Eddie's commitment to the friendship.
Steve was also pretty sure Eddie was terrified to say no to Nancy.
Steve looked in the direction Eddie pointed at. There, in the middle of the dancefloor, were Robin and Nancy giggling, dancing like maniacs. Ironically, maniac was playing.
Steve's early tension eased a bit at the sight. If Steve coming had gotten Robin to smile like that, it was worth the bad memories that came with the school gym.
"How long before Nance makes a move on her, you think?"
Eddie raised his eyebrows, and looked taken aback by Steve's question. "Bold to assume they are into each other, Harrington."
Steve snorted, "Not really. I know you know about Robs, so it's not like I'm outing her. Wouldn't do that. And sure, Nancy hasn't said anything. But I dated her for over a year. I know what she looks like when she's in love with someone."
"Aaah yes, the star-crossed lovers of Hawkins High. How could I forget about the lovebirds."
Steve looked at Eddie across the table, "No she never looked at me like that. I meant Jonathan."
"Oh," Eddie whispered. Steve wasn't hurt by the assumption; he was past that. Well, he was trying to be. He didn't love Nance like that anymore, but the way it ended had left its mark.
Steve felt a bit of envy as he looked at the two girls, now slow dancing. He wanted that. To dance with someone like no one was watching. To hold someone. He never got that.
"I think probably soon, to answer your question from earlier. I'm a little jealous, I have to admit. No one bats an eye at two girls dancing."
Steve wrinkled his nose in confusion, "What, you not gonna dance Munson?"
It was Eddie's turn to snort. "Um, no, Steve. I've never done it, and even if I could, the ladies aren't really who I would want to dance with. Believe it or not, my time with the bats was a one-off. I prefer to be alive, and this town wouldn't take too kindly to my dance partner preferences.
Steve's heart stuttered for a moment. Something ignited in his chest. Something that couldn't be confused with anything other than hope. "What?"
Eddie stared for a second, "Dude. I'm gay."
"No I got that. It's just, you've never danced with someone? Like ever?"
Eddie laughed, "C'mon man don't be surprised."
Steve suddenly stood up and extended his hand. "C'mon."
"Harrington, did you not hear a word I just said. Besides, I'm not going to give these assholes a show."
Steve let out an exasperated sigh, "Look, I know you’re the president of the Anti-Social Club, but why don’t you join me? I have an idea, and I promise nothing bad will happen to you on my watch.”
Eddie hesitated but grabbed Steve's hand. Eddie was stiff as Steve dragged him from his seat.
Steve walked them through the double doors of the gymnasium and out into the hallway. Eddie let out a confused yelp. "What—where are we going, Steve?"
"Just trust me."
Eddie stayed silent the rest of the way until they reached O'Donnell's classroom. "Are you seriously taking back here? Is this a joke?"
"No, I just know she's the only teacher who doesn't lock her door. C'mon." Steve walked Eddie inside the room and shut the door. Luckily, the desks had all been stacked and pushed to the sides of the room, so there was plenty of open space for his plan.
"Okay, so, put your hands around my neck. We are going to do this the easy way instead of the traditional way."
"Ooo, kinky Stevie. Didn't know you were into that." Eddie listened anyway and threw his arms over Steve's shoulders, connecting his hands at the base of Steve's neck.
A blush spread over Steve's face. "Shut up. You knew what a meant."
Eddie gave his first genuine laugh of the night in response.
Steve placed his hands on Eddie's hips. He took a moment to collect himself before proceeding. Steve could feel the warmth of Eddie's hips through the fabric of his black button-up. It was thrilling to be able to feel him this way. Steve had always imagined him to be cold, but he was pleasantly surprised by the outcome. It fit Eddie to be warm; the man was a ball of sunshine despite his outward appearance.
After a moment, Steve started to sway them back and forth. "Move with me, Munson. There is no one around."
Eddie obeyed easily. "Ya know, when you claimed me the president of the anti-social club, I thought, ya know, we were going to be social."
"You are being social, Eddie, just being social with me. Besides, you want me to stop?"
Eddie whispered, "No. It's nice." Eddie leaned his forehead against Steve's as they continued to sway.
Steve began to hum under his breath. The music from the gym was too far away to make out any sort of beat. He decided to make his own music, just for Eddie.
Eddie giggled, "Are you humming 'Dreams' by Fleetwood Mac right now?" He rubbed his thumbs against the nape of Steve's neck.
Chills went down Steve's spine at the contact. He would have to remember to thank Robin later on for dragging him to prom, for giving him this moment. "Yea, you got a problem with that?" Steve's tone wasn't mean but scratchy and raw. Vulnerable. He didn't want to do anything to break the moment.
"It's perfect," Eddie said as he looked directly into Steve's eyes.
"Good." Steve brushed his lips against Eddie's. Then he sang in a whisper against his mouth,
"It's only me who wants to wrap around your dreams/And have you any dreams you'd like to sell?"

Listen, the phenomenal @legitcookie wrote a little steddie gym!AU ficlet not too long ago that I love to pieces. That's why I couldn't help but add a little something in her universe. What can I say? You inspire me 🫶
I hope you like it, Jen 💜💜
Eddie and Steve are…friends. One day, they had been strangers and the next, boom. Steve had been his friend.
A friend who patted his shoulders, his back, and that unforgettable time even Eddie’s ass when Eddie had done an especially good job at squatting.
Who would have thought that was all the motivation Eddie needed to actually put the effort into his workouts.
Well, Eddie would have thought. He’s only human.
Point is, he and Steve had become friends.
And if they sometimes flirt playfully with each other – well, that doesn’t have to mean anything. Steve is a friendly guy and Eddie has working eyes and that’s all there is, thank you very much.
Because Steve is straight. Steve likes to talk about boobies. To Eddie. Who doesn’t really get the appeal but can’t say so because then Steve would stop touching him and flirting with him and he can’t have that.
So whenever Steve starts to talk about boobs, Eddie tries to just grunt or nod or say something vaguely appreciative.
“I just love the way they move, y’know. They’re so…jiggly? You know what I mean, right? Like, they’re soft but also firm.”
“Uh-uh. Yeah. Jiggly. Love that.”
“Right? It’s the best when they bounce while they sit in your lap, man. The fucking best.”
Eddie tries very hard not to think about Steve in his lap and how his manly tits would look with the glorious chest hair that keeps teasing him through Steve’s V-neck shirts.
“Eddie, are you alright? You haven’t said a word in, like, five minutes and you should maybe – “ Steve gestures to the left corner of his own mouth and Eddie mimics the gesture unthinkingly. His hand comes away wet. Gross.
“Yeah, uh – sorry. I was thinking about laps. Laps are – great. Really great.”
Steve looks at him with furrowed brows but doesn’t say anything else. Good save, Munson.
It’s later, in the locker room, when they're getting ready to take a shower, that Steve brings it up again.
“Why do you always act so strange when I talk about girls, man?”
Eddie drops the shirt in his hands.
He gulps and his voice is higher than usual when he asks “Strange?”
Steve gives him his bitchiest don’t-bullshit-me-man look. It’s very effective.
“I just don’t know what to say, really. That’s all.”
“Well, you could tell me what you like instead of just grunting or nodding along to what I say.”
Something about Steve’s tone irks Eddie. He says it like it’s so easy for Eddie to tell Steve 'I like to watch things bounce, too, Stevie – only, I’d rather watch a bubbly butt bounce in my lap than some tits.'
Oh, that would go over swell.
“You don’t really want to know what I like, Steve. You can tell me all about bouncy tits, I don’t understand what you need an answer for from me.”
“No, really, man.”
Fuck, the earnest puppy dog eyes TM. Eddie hates it when Steve pulls those. He’s powerless against them. “I really want to know, Eds. I thought we were friends. Tell me?”
Big, wet brown eyes, a mouth that's pulled down with shiny lips slightly parted.
Steve goes for the killing blow and Eddie drops dead at his feet.
“Dicks.”
“What?”
“Dicks. I like dicks. And butts. But yeah, there definitely has to be a dick involved, other than mine of course.”
Steve’s eyes are big as saucers as he stares off into the distance at that. It looks like he’s buffering, so Eddie lets him and tries to not spiral.
After what feels like forever Steve looks back at him. “But why?”
Okay, Eddie did not see that one coming.
“I don’t know? I just – do. Why do you like boobs?”
“I just told you upstairs. I like how they look and how they feel when I touch them. How a girl will go crazy when I play with them just right.”
Eddie can see it and even if the boobs in the equation do nothing for him the thought of Steve’s lips wrapped around a nipple while his big ass hands are full of pliable flesh?
Good thing he still wears his shorts.
If Steve wants Eddie to paint him a picture, Eddie can do that. Screw it.
“Yeah, right. Well, same for me. Just, y’know, with dicks. I like to look at them, like to see how much the other dude wants my touch. How hard and hot their flesh is when I get my hands on them, how silky the skin of their dicks feels. Most of all, I like how it feels in my mouth. Or in my ass.”
Steve’s eyes drop to Eddie’s lap and Eddie’s dick gives a treacherous twitch like it wants to say hello to Steve so bad. Down, boy! Eddie thinks.
“I never – “ Steve gulps and his Adam’s apple bobs convulsively like his mouth is too dry to really swallow. He’s still staring at Eddie’s dick where it’s slowly thickening inside his shorts. Such a whore for attention, his dick. Eddie knew it would get him into trouble one day.
“You never what, Stevie?” Eddie just has to ask, has to poke the bear. His survival instincts had always been for shit.
“Never thought about it like that.” Steve's eyes snap back up to Eddie’s. “Can I see?”
Eddie laughs. He can’t help it, the situation is absurd. “Why would you want that? You have one yourself or have you forgotten that?”
The blush on Steve’s cheeks is a delicious red and Eddie’s sure his skin will be hot to the touch. He wonders how deep he can make that blush go. But despite the embarrassed red in his cheeks, Steve's eyes are nothing but determined.
“No, ‘course not. But it’s different when it’s not your own, right. So, show me yours. I wanna know why you like it so much.”
The. Fuck.
Eddie has no idea what's happening here. It’s crazy. It’s stupid.
He has to do it.
So, Eddie whips it out.
And Steve?
Steve gasps and says "That's a penis!"
Eddie stares at Steve in disbelief before cackling like a maniac. “You – fucking – asshole” he gets out between gasps for air, still laughing.
Steve is laughing, too. He laughs so hard tears are streaming down his hot red cheeks.
“Sorry, man. Really. I just – your face, man.” Steve leans on Eddie’s shoulder, unable to stand up any longer by himself.
When they both come down from their laughing fit, Eddie realizes the position they’re in. They’re both shirtless and Steve is almost draped over his front, leaning his weight on Eddie. Eddie’s shorts are down his thighs and he’s still holding his half-hard dick in his hand.
Steve rests his forehead on Eddie’s shoulder and looks down at it.
“I don’t know, I don’t think I see why you would like to look at it. It’s just – not pretty?”
Eddie makes an offended noise and Steve backpedals. “No, I mean, dicks are just not pretty. Not yours specifically. Sorry.” And he does sound sorry – like he somehow hurt Eddie’s feelings.
He did, kind of. But that’s not Steve’s fault. “It’s fine, really. You don’t have to like them.”
“Never said I didn’t.”
Eddie must have heard wrong. “What?”
“I never said I didn’t like them. Just that I don’t think they’re pretty. But I want to find out if I like – what you like. How they feel. What they can do.”
Steve kisses Eddie’s bare shoulder and goosebumps erupt all over Eddie’s pale skin.
“It can do something, right?” Steve asks as he pokes Eddie’s dick. It twitches slightly at the contact and Steve makes a satisfied sound in his throat.
Eddie quakes. “Excuse me. I show you what it can do, alright.” He huffs indignantly.
Steve grins like the cat who caught the canary.
“Yeah, I fucking hope so."
Steve puts his shirt back on and saunters off towards the exit. "Come on, we can shower at mine. After you showed me what it can do.”
