so I watched Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness last night and I have some thoughts:

Overall, I enjoyed it a lot more and I thought it was a lot better than Spider-Man NWH, the last MCU movie I watched. DS:MoM was a fairly entertaining watch overall. But I definitely agree with the comments I’ve seen that it... isn’t that great of a movie? The dialogue feels quite stilted, the plot jumpy and forced, and none of the characters particularly compelling except for Wanda, who’s just mainly fun to watch as the villain. That being said, the things I liked:

- Wanda: I was one of the people who was rooting for her to be revealed as the villain when Wandavision was originally airing because she’d be epic as an antagonist--and she was. Loved how unhinged she was here.

- The Multiverse hopping: YES PLEASE LITERALLY MY FAVORITE TROPE. The Captain Carter cameo was spoiled for me beforehand and I did enjoy it, but WHY IS NOBODY TALKING ABOUT MARIA RAMBEAU AS CAPTAIN MARVEL!!! PERFECTION!!! SHE WAS SO BADASS!!! so glad to see my girl maria again, I missed herrr

- America Chavez: She was pretty fun! I think the movie could have made her more compelling but it is what it is. I liked her moms and I liked that her arc was left concluded but pretty open ended. Was the last battle with Wanda a little cheesy? Yeah, but not in an annoying way (to me, at least). More in a “yeah, I saw that coming” sort of way. I do wish we had gotten a bit more character work for her in a more natural way--the memory lane just suddenly revealing her backstory was really contrived.

- Wong: Icon.

Things I didn’t like/was more ambivalent about:

- Dialogue: Felt super forced. Especially the jarring switches between “Marvel joke-y mode” and seriousness. A lot of the dialogue sounded a hell of a lot better in the trailer than it did in the actual movie.

- Plot: Mehhhhhhh

- Doctor Strange: He’s just... not a super compelling character. They kind of tried to give him a character arc here with him having to learn to open up and “being afraid of being vulnerable” and his whole “unhappiness” schtick but like... didn’t really put in the effort to see it through. And LMAO @ him getting a “not like other girls” moment

- Also the Multiverse: They should have done SO MUCH more with it. This movie marketed itself as “different in tone from previous marvel movies” but it really wasn’t. At all. Why couldn’t they have thrown in more sci-fi/speculative stuff? What was stopping them? Another thing is that the movie forgets its own rules: if one of the rules of multiversial travel is that you “don’t know anything”, why would Doctor Strange assume that both he and Sinister Strange had a sister? What guarantees that? What guarentess that the sister died in both universes, and in the same way, at that? What even guarantees that every Doctor Strange became a doctor, and acquired his powers the same way? And joined the fight against Thanos? Just like... this movie is very tame in regard to the multiverse aspect which is disappointing.

- The horror aspect: Listen I’m a person who REFUSES to watch any horror but come on, this movie was so tame. WHERE was the spooky. WHERE. There was just a hint of horror-ish vibes, there could have been so much MORE

- Also Wanda?? I’m a bit conflicted on this. While I LOVED seeing her as an unhinged villain, it was definitely a complete 180 from where her character arc in Wandavision left her. It didn’t feel like a very natural turn of her character, more like she acted the way she did because it was plot-necessary. They just hopped from Point A from Point B with her and didn’t really explain how she got there other than “Darkhold corruption *hand-wave*”. And I don’t actually mind that all that much but what’s sticking on my mind now is that it undercuts Monica’s arc in Wandavision a ton, and Monica has a movie coming up soon. In Wandavision, Monica’s empathy and faith in Wanda is rewarded and proven right, and she wins because of it. Hayward is wrong to not listen to her, and villainous for his callous treatment of her, the trio, and of Wanda. But now this movie kind of... ends up doing the opposite? I hope it doesn’t impact Monica’s character too badly but idk at this point

- The action scenes: I know this isn’t a movie that’s intended to have impressive looking fight scenes since most of it is cgi magic but still... a lot of it looked awkward

- Sinister Strange: So... why did he decide to go around murdering Doctor Stranges? How did we get from Point A (all Doctor Stranges are depressed) to Point B (I must murder them for funsies). Not to mention that the battle between them was out-of-nowhere (why are they fighting with music? is this meant to be comedic?)

- Oh yeah and there was a lot of stopping and staring when characters were being chased. What was up with that.

- The Illuminati: WHY WOULD THEY CALL THEM THAT IT SOUNDS SO DUMB anyways. Their logic about Doctor Strange was... super inconsistent. “We have to kill our Doctor Strange because he’s a threat so we’ll keep him around until Thanos is defeated then murder him with his permission” to “this new Doctor Strange is also a threat because he’s a Doctor Strange even if he’s from the multiverse and we have no idea what his universe is likeso we should kill him” to “everyone makes mistakes :)” like. what. And their deaths were super glossed over. Like this universe’s Avengers were all just murdered and they’re pretty fucked now but we’re just gonna ignore that for the rest of the movie. RIP Earth 838 sucks to be you I guess.

- America opened her first portal and lost her mothers because of a bee. I’m sorry but that’s too comedic to work as a serious moment. Definitely a jarring scene in terms of tone and they could have done a lot better with that moment.

- Christine: I’m fully ambivalent about her.

And also there’s no way Wanda’s dead.

Can’t think of anything else at the moment but yeah. Overall a 6 or 7/10 I’d say. Definitely a much more fun watch then NWH, because NWH was just infuriating.

This movieeeee IS OKAY. Not as bad as multiverse of madness because for fucking finally NO CAMEOS OH MY GODDD! And yeah this an ant man movie not a kang movie, take notes multiverse of madness!!!

I was genuinely concerned with how the movie would turn out to be cause what the fuck is that rotten tomatoes rating bro 😭 but when i watched it, no??? This does not deserve THAT bad whatttt

Also little sharing here i'm almost late when the intro started rolling 😭😭 i was having uni class until 4 and the movie started at 4 goddamn pass 15 AND MY LOCAL CINEMA TOOK KILOMETERS PLUS IT STARTED RAINING 😭 I WAS TRULY IN A RUSH LMAOOO, once i got into the ground floor of my uni i still had to rush out to the basement USING THOSE STAIRS oh my god lmaoo

Aight back into it i was already prepared if scott or anybody's going to die ngl but i'm also genuinely shocked that NONE OF THEM DIED???? GODDAMN THESE FAMILY RULESSSS

Another surprise is that sidekick girl and the civilization?? (Idk/forgot what they called i'm sorry 😭) brooo i love them all!! When i saw the trailer promos i expect i'd get bored but holy crap these characters really are survivors and they're NOT BORING at all! Still missing luis and the bois tho :')

Ohhh another thing i noticed (for why it's good) is at least, AT LEAST it has a consistent theme, THIS IS A FRIGGIN HEIST MOVIE.

Time is kinda like another theme that sadly tho took the spotlight here, and suddenly i miss doctor strange so much lmao :( i really feel that quantimania should have these emotional moments AS EMOTIONAL in doctor strange, i mean it's also my favorite movie soooo 👉👈

Ugahgsgsgs i wished this kang learn those "we don't get to choose our time" scene from doctor strange, especially the quote "it's not about YOU", imagine how pissed off he'd be lmaooo 😩😩

Oh yea i forgor to talk abt modok, naw man because WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS 😭😭

I thought that she USED to work together with kang as in she choose to do it that way but noooo, as she saw the chaos and monstrosity from kang she backed up and wasn't even hesitate to join in, like after all those times that's it right in front of her is a ticket to home, but she knew better and she's an icon frrrr 🥺💖💖

I think hank and hope could've had more character development but i'm okay with what i got, i think it's more of a support player?? I'm really glad to know that janet had both hope and hank because they both are what she needed and she is what they both needed.

And then we got scott and cassie ehehehe!! Ngl scott, he's the real daddy like when he's dissapointed yes he is but- my god he's just soooo kind??? His daughter went to jail and in the end still could ease the situation with playing his audiobook in the radio car 😭😭💖 i don't blame cassie tho cause ehh she's a teen and is a blip survivor those are a very tough times :(

Anddd oh yea that final battle...

Scott oh my fucking god somebody help him pleaseee😭😭😭😭😭 i'm genuinely so terrified like NO, NO GET UP, FUCKING GET UP SCOTT YOU GOT THIS 😭

I was expecting a cliffhanger ending but oh well family dinner lol, for a starting of phase 5 i'm pretty fine by the use of these lighter tones in some scenes like this, before the dinner scott was having some overthinking moments yet he decided to not think abt it too much lmao, that's just scott being scott jajajajjaa

Anddd lastly THE post credit scenes!!!!

I DID NOT EXPECT IT'D BE THIS GOOD HOLY SHITTT

My thoughts on the new Multiverse of Madness Trailer

Now that trailer was INSANE and there is so much to unpack so let me just start off by saying I am so excited for this movie. So let's get into some stuff I want to talk about theories!

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

1. This Scene

So that scene we had in the first trailer.... That's a whole ass illusion Wanda had up around her and Strange? If that is the case I'm surprised they gave us THIS given misleading scenes have been hidden in trailers until we see the movie especially if they are money shots. Like for example Peter fighting Electro, Sandman, and Lizard we all knew it was gonna have Tobey and Andrew's Peters in that scene with them or at least speculated about it being them. So Marvel just straight up giving this to us in the SECOND TRAILER is sus. Also her quote, "You break the rules and become the hero. I do it and I become the enemy. That doesn’t seem fair." Gave me chills.

2. Marvel's Illuminati Confirmed?

That scene had me REELING! Patrick Stewart is back as CHARLES XAVIER! I didn't think he'd ever return to the role. Now some of those chairs are empty in the scene now that could be on purpose they may really be empty or they may not and Marvel is hiding something. But then again why give us someone in a chair who may actually be REED RICHARDS. Also is Mordo in Strange's position in the Illuminati group or could Defender Strange be there? If they throw in Namor or Black Bolt I'd be shocked. Now the thing about Iron Man, I do now believe it could quite possibly be a variant of Tony and it being played by Tom Cruise and his depiction of Tony Stark/Iron Man is the Superior Iron Man. Also seeing those Ultron bots messed with me I can't stand Ultron and there's only one person I think that would make those and it's Tony, even though in the comics it was originally Hank Pym. Hopefully these ones don't go all psycho murder bot. With Patrick back in as Charles Xavier we will finally have Mutants and a glimpse of the X-Men coming into the MCU and also the Fantastic Four with Reed Richards coming in. Now whether that's Ioan Gruffudd or Miles Teller is hard to say. I would hope it's Ioan because personally I like his portrayal of Mr. Fantastic better seeing as the 2015 remake film was absolutely trash.

3. Christine Palmer/Clea Variant Theory

What we've seen of Christine out of both trailers I'd like to say this now. The one we see in the Wedding Dress that is the Christine we're used to seeing. But this Christine here I'm calling it now that she is a Variant and her Variant is none other than Clea, who in the comics marries Doctor Strange. I get her white hair is an iconic look and that one has red but the possibility is still there.

4. Rintrah and Wundagore Mountain

This...I believe the location that we see in this new trailer is in fact Wundagore Mountain. If you know Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver comic history well enough you know that is where Magda gave birth to Wanda and Pietro. Also there is a chamber among the caverns inside the mountain, Where Chthon wrote the Darkhold. So Wanda is coming here or attacking it? Guess we won't know until the movie obviously and what they will do with the lore of the place.

4. Scarlet Witch

WE ARE SIMPLY NOT READY FOR THIS WOMAN'S VILLAIN ERA.

Spider-Man: No Way Home was amazing but Multiverse of Madness is gonna change the Marvel Universe as we know it forever. We simply won't truly be ready for what we see in the theaters May 6th.

FUCKING LOVE HIM !$?'+#!&;$?_!?? 💖💖💖😭😭😭 when mj and ned opened the portal to call spidey believing it was their peter parker but it really was andrew's spidey ALL THE PEOPLE AT THE MOVIE THEATER LITERALLY SCREAMED WHEN HE SHOWED UP JSKDJSKDJ YEAAAAH

but seriously I was so happy to see him again in movies 🥺🥺 he's the best and my favorite spiderman <333 watching him being so sweet, happy and dedicated with the other spideys, fighting the sinister six, SAVING MJ AND CRYING WHEN HE REALIZED THAT HE ACTUALLY SAVED HER LIKE HE WISH HE HAD DONE WITH HIS GWEN 😭😭😭😭 chills man . fucking chills oh my god I can't stop loving this man :(( he deserves so much better, andrew's peter always had this huge potential and the simple fact of watching him again on the big screen IT'S JUST SO ("+$!_)#+_;?????#!#?+$!💖💖💖💖?!$?#+_!_ like it was a dream I can't even describe it .

ngl I kinda felt that he was a little bit out of character, I even believed he was fake JSKDJSKDJ 😭😭 but fortunately he wasn't !!

CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE SCENE WHERE HE CHASES PETER AT THE MIRROR DIMENSION ??$!?_!#!_!2?_!????? I GOT DIZZY BUT IT WAS SOOOO WORTH IT CAUSE OH MY GOD . THE EFFECTS !!!! THAT MOMENT WHEN HE SEPARATES PETER'S SOUL FROM HIS BODY !$?'((#!_)2!_?3!4!2)2! SO ICONIC SO AWESOME SO UGHHHH SO POWERFUL

awww I remembered when he says "that's why I didn't have kids" when peter stole the box and when he has to say goodbye to peter at the end before the spell :( "call me stephen" I WANT TO CRYYYY he was like peter's second dad (after tony obviously) 😭😭 I loved his interactions with peter since infinity war, their dynamic was so funny but pure :(((

OKAY AND THE SECOND POST-CREDIT TRAILER _)'+;$(_!_??? "the only danger to the universe is you" WHAT ?????????? oh I can't wait to see him and wanda working together !! so excited

sigh- okay what I tried to say with all this shit is that I love this party wizard with all my heart <3 waiting for doctor strange and the multiverse of madness since I was born.........

I LOVED ALFRED MOLINA !!!! YOU HEAR ME ??? LOVE HIM !!!!!

watching doc oct actually being happy u know without the voices and the almost eternal state of mind of sadness makes me so proud of him :(( finally he's getting what he deserves

he was so iconic, intimidating, funny but endearing at the same time <3 so good that marvel knew how to keep his screen presence like the old times

peter genuinely helped him to be a better man, to have a second opportunity in life !! and that's what takes me to this IMPORTANT point of the movie:

• peter's internal debate about his moral

you know what I love about spiderman? not talking about the actors, the character himself:

his moral.

at the begging of the movie, aunt may (rip, her death totally break my heart ;;) told peter to giving the sinister six a second chance. SHE was the only person who told him to be a good person. she even talked to norman when he wasn't at green goblin's mind control.

"with great power comes great responsibility"

after aunt may's death, peter wants revenge. he's so tired, angry and sad. he's tired of trying to help people, and he even said to the other peter's that he didn't want to have the responsibility of changing the life of all the other villains. the other spidey's have to look after them, because it's their problem, not his.

but instead of actually take action on his own words, he helped the sinister six, finding the cure to their problems with andrew and tobey's support, and when he had green goblin in front of him, he ALMOST kills him.

but tobey stops him.

doc oct: (talking to peter) you have the opportunity to kill us, but you don't. why?

mj: because he's not like that.

because that's not what spiderman does. that's not what peter parker does. he doesn't kill, he fights, but doesn't kill. he's not like that. he believes in second chances, he believes that people can actually change for better. he has hope, he's strong, he moves on and he fights for his own beliefs. he just wants the best for everyone, sacrificing his own happiness for that like we see at the end of the movie.

everyone who he loved before don't remember him now, but that's okay because at least they're safe, no? isn't that what a hero has to do?

the moral of "don't kill" makes peter so interesting and iconic. the internal fight of choosing the right way to do things. he has the power, but it is up to him to decide what to do with it. killing? forgiving? helping?

that's why I love this character, and that's why I loved this movie.

like fr I haven't talk like this about a marvel movie since infinity war so..... yeah makes me overthinking about how fucking good this is.

I can say without any doubt that this is easily the BEST spiderman movie !! I cried, I laughed, I screamed, I got so shocked and my eyes were so open so I didn't lose any detail

oh !! almost forget, but the end credits with the drawing of the spideys with geometric-mathematic scenarios <33 LOVE THAT I wish I could draw like that.......

and last but not least important, venom and eddie went to a date at the beach in mexico !!! so iconic from them, they make a disaster at every dimension where they stay so venomverse is real. who knows, maybe we'll see a new version of venom with tom holland?

"let's go swimming at the beach...... NAKED !!"

so, basically: the wait was worth it and all the hype it's honestly deserved.

the multiverse is real. spiderverse is real.

Spider-Man No Way Home Predictions!

(Potential spoiler warning, but these are just my predictions as a fan of the MCU)

✨the line✨

This is (most likely) Tom's last appearance as Peter Parker, meaning there's no way we won't hear "with great power comes great responsibility." I predict that we'll hear it come from Tobey to Tom, as Ben is already gone and I doubt they'd change the origins of something so iconic.

"Is this stuff coming out of you?"

As Andrew and Tom's Peter use web-shooters rather than have it come from their wrists, like Tobey's Peter, and would likely be confused at this difference. It'd be a nice little callback to Sam Wilson's comment during the first time we saw Tom's Peter in action way back in Civil War.

Avocados at Law

I want to see Charlie Cox return as Matt Murdoch sooooo bad but, unless Marvel hints at Daredevil in a trailer again (like they may have done with the protest signs and lawyer's arms) or reveals that he will be in the movie, I doubt that we will see him. I feel like we'll probably see him in an end credit scene or mentioned as an easter egg, but not in the film itself. If the lawyer isn't Matt, however, a fun twist is that Foggy could represent him instead! (Although I still doubt that we'll see either of them).

He saved her... This time.

Gwen Stacey's death in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was absolutely heartbreaking, and I'm sure we'll see MJ in a similar place of danger to raise the stakes. I feel we'll see Tom's Peter trying to save her and fail, but she won't die. Instead, it'll reveal that Andrew's Peter got there in time to save her, doing what he wasn't able to do for his love. Almost a sort of redemption but also a heartbreaking parallel and difference between their lives in each reality.

No really, No Way Home

This is a fairly obvious one, but it is most likely that it'll be the villains who have no way home, not Peter. He'll have to choose between sending them back, resulting in their deaths and possibly making him a "murderer" once more, or defeating them in this reality. He'll probably have to come to terms with eventually choosing the former at the end of the film.

Here'ssss Rhinoooo!

We've seen or been alluded to 5/6 members of the Sinister Six in the trailer already (Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Electro, Sandman, & Lizard), and I truly believe that the last villain we'll get is Rhino. I believe that he and Andrew's Peter will be transported through the multiverse at the ending scene from TASM2, and that's the moment they'll have come from as it was the last time we saw either of them.

It was a DiVeRsiON

This theory has definitely been circulating a lot on the internet, but I do believe it was Tom Holland's face edited onto Tobey Maguire's body. It's the same suit we saw him wear in Spider-Man 3, tying into the theory of them being pulled through existing moments we've seen before as mentioned above. Additionally, that's the only time we see Tom's face on a body wearing the Iron Spider suit, meaning that it very likely could be Tobey actually wearing it.

Lost Friend... AGAIN

I adore Ned, I adore Jacob Batalon, but in the first two series' Peter lost Harry and I feel like it's the emotional turmoil that they want for him to experience more character development. I don't want it, I DON'T WANT IT, but I think we will see him become Hobgoblin.

WandaVision

Since we see Stephen Strange in this movie, one of the end credit scenes will probably be teasing Multiverse of Madness!! Since Elizabeth Olsen will be in that film, we may see her or see another direct reference to the events of WandaVision to begin connecting the two characters. (We may even see the deleted footage of Stephen that Feige confirmed was removed from the project).

Evil Doctor, How Strange.

There are a few clips in the trailer that look like Stephen and Peter are fighting, so what may happen is that Peter will encounter a version of him which he has to fight. Who knows, it may be an interesting scene to see.

👏MILES👏FREAKING👏MORALES👏

They confirmed his existence in the MCU in Spider-Man: Homecoming, and I would love to at least have another mention of his existence in this movie as well! I'm sure they'll at least throw us some easter egg about him even though we probably won't see him.

Return of the (Dancing) King

This one is more of something personal that I want to see, but I want a callback to Tobey's Peter dancing in Spider-Man 3! I mean, c'mon.

^^ This was iconic. As long as somebody does this dance, I'm happy.

Here are the honorable mentions of things I want to see that I, unfortunately, really doubt we will:

Dane DeHaan: The best Harry Osborn but had just had another baby before filming so is likely not lying when denying the rumors.

Emma Stone: I mean, Gwen died... And she also just had a baby so we probably won't see her.

Peter Maximoff/Ralph Bohner: MARVEL NEEDS TO FIX THIS but I don't think they'll do it in Spider-Man.
