1. What ship were you completely obsessed with when you were a teenager, but now you don't care anymore?

All of my old ships, like Destiel, Sabriel, Johnlock, Mystrade...I used to be super into Supernatural and Sherlock but I've like completely moved on from them. Though I do like to dive back into Johnlock fics every now and then

2. Which ship would you consider your first one?

USUK from Hetalia or either KakaVege from Dragonball Z. It's between those two, I think

3. Your first fanfic belonged to which couple?

Definitely USUK. You have no idea how many fics I read over on Deviantart about them. So many

4. Do you remember the first couple you saw a fanart over?

USUK or Russia x China from Hetalia...it was one of them. Can't remember, honestly

5. Did you ever get into ship discourse?

No. I don't get into discourse. I'm not very confrontational and I never liked fighting with anyone over their ships

6. Did you used to have any no-otp or have it currently?

FRUK or whatever the fuck France x UK was called. Can't remember. They were never a favorite of mine. Also Wincest. Like why?

7. Who were the couple in the last fanfic you read?

Bai Yutong x Zhan Yao (it was my own fanfic, thank you)

8. Currently, do you have any OTPs?

Normal about them a normal amount (don't look at my blog or ao3)

9. Is there any couple that, to this day, you are extremely mad about not getting together?

Um...honestly, I can't remember.

10. Is there any ship you used to dislike but now you think they are kind of interesting?

No, not really. If I dislike a ship, I just tend not to interact with it. So I won't go looking for content about it or check it out, even if a mutual or someone is talking about it

11. Do you have any ship that, in the past, was considered normal but now you would be cancelled over?

Sebaciel, Eren x Levi, anything hetalia related...these were all like the normal ships in middle school for me and like...now people (especially on instagram but who the fuck listens to people on instagram) just do not like them. But I still like them.

12. What was your favorite crack ship?

I never did crack ships, honestly. Which might seem weird to some people but it was just never my thing

13. Who is the couple you read more fanfics off?

Now, if we're talking about my own fanfics, it's Yuezhi. I read so much of my own fics about them. But if we're not then...McDanno is the one who has the most bookmarks in my ao3 bookmarks

14. What most of your ships usually have in common?

Enemies to lovers, doctor x cop, black and white couple (means one wears black/dark clothes majority of the time and the other wears light/white clothes majority of the time), grumpy x sunshine...i'm sure there are other things but i can't remember

15. What you absolutely hate in a ship?

Miscommunication. Like, you're supposed to be in love with each other, right? Which means you communicate with each other for fucks sake. I know miscommunication is a big romance trope but it's just so stupid. It causes so much drama and unnecessary anxiety and just...just fucking talk to each other you assholes (I will give a pass to this trope if it's done well...like you think it's a misunderstanding but actually the characters have talked about this and they're faking the misunderstanding/miscommunication. Killer and Healer has some miscommunication but it actually makes sense why there's miscommunication...doesn't mean I have to like it, but it makes sense, so it gets a pass)

There still seems to be confusion over the "rare" in events like the Sam Rare Ships Week. I think it's actually deterring people who ship pairings that have more than 500 stories on AO3 from submitting content because they think their ship is disqualified. According to an earlier ask, any ship that isn't Wincest is allowed for the Sam Rare Ships Week, even Sabriel which has 14k stories on AO3 according to the spreadsheet, right? Maybe we need an added sentence that makes the definition of "rare" clearer for such events? I guess the definition in this case is anything other than the #1 most common Sam ship? (Not meaning to be annoying, just trying to help clear up the confusion because people in the comments thought Sabriel and Sastiel weren't allowed.)

Hey! Thanks for the ask!

We hadn't noticed the confusion, but perhaps our Rare Fic Friday (RFF) and Extra Rare Fic Friday (ERFF) events are so common that those rules are starting to overshadow all of the other events. RFF are for ships with less than 500 works on AO3, and ERFF are for ships with less than 100 works on AO3.

All other challenges follow our General Rules. The only ships that we do not allow for any of these challenges are Wincest and Destiel (unless they're included in poly relationships, which opens those options up as well). Yes - Sabriel and Sastiel are allowed in our challenges, as long as it's not a RFF/ERFF event. (We know that many may argue that Sabriel is not, in fact, a rare ship, but that's a whole other conversation. Sabriel is good to go for our events.)

Our AO3 Rare Ship Spreadsheet shows the breakdown of ships (that we know of - please send in any other ships that are missing!) on AO3. Any ships from Row 7 down (starting with Sam / Gabe) can be used for all events, unless otherwise stated (i.e. RFF/ERFF).

The reminder to review our General Rules page is at the bottom of all of our event posts, and those General Rules have not changed since the creation of this blog.

this is such a great moment for me 🙏🙏🙏 I don't want to be a buzzkill to people who like it (which i thought was Everyone!) but genuinely toxic sabriel is the only thing I can be sold on by individual fics, them being happy together beggars belief I do NOT get it. I can ship sam with an interesting lamp and I still don't Feel sabriel as a rule

I spent years sooooo confused by it. I mean I get it a bit more now but even then the way I'm compelled is not something 99% of the fandom DOES so I'm not even engaging in fandom about it. I do support sabriel people but I can't get compelled unless it's based on like. Some really toxic ideas in my head about it.

1) Mun is 21+ so if you're under the age of 18, please don't follow. I check everyone who follows my blog so please have your age somewhere visible to mobile users. If I can't see your age/ age range, I'm going to assume you're a minor and block you on sight. Blank blogs, personal blogs (unless connected to an RP blog) and porn blogs will be blocked on sight as well.

2) Mutuals Only. I'm still trying to find my muse for Gabriel again and I would rather write with people I'm familiar with. Though, if I like the portrayal enough, I'd be willing to take on a few new partners as well.

3) If you plot/ play with me, please give me something to work with. If I can't work with what you gave me, I'll give you a chance to try again but if it continues, I'll block you. That's part of why my muse died the first time.

4) Please be caught up on the series. You don't have to have finished it to play with me but you must be at least familiar with Gabriel 's backstory and character. Through Season 13 is preferable but not required.

5) Please don't write in first person, chat style or script style RP. It's a personal pet peeve of mine and it's incredibly hard to respond to.

6) I would prefer if my partners were Semi-Literate. 2 sentences minimum. Keep one-liners to a minimum.

7) Don't constantly remind me it's my turn or bug me to respond. I work 12-6PM EST (Monday -Friday) and don't have that much time or energy to write as much as I used to. If you harass me about responding, I'll block you. If it's been more than a week, poke me.

8) Don't steal or just like my starters. That is not only incredibly rude, but also extremely annoying.

9) Do not reblog or respond to my threads if you're not involved. I don't care if you leave likes on my RPs but do not reblog them unless you're involved.

10) Respect my rules. If you refuse to do so, you will be kicked the fuck off my blog. I have had to private my blogs because of shit like this. You disrespect my rules, you'll be blocked immediately.

11) Do not force ships. I ship based on chemistry and my own ships. My main ship is Sabriel but I'm open to other ships.

12) PLOT WITH ME. I cannot stress this enough. This is especially true if you have an OC. If I don't know anything about your character, Gabriel doesn't either. I prefer plotting anyways. I don't mind on the fly threads/asks but that's usually after a relationship is either already established or if it's with other canon characters. Plotting is mandatory

the character everyone gets wrong

Hot take in a show written the same way the ship of theseus was built there IS not a great way to consistently and strongly characterize our main three. There is so much contradictory information ofc I think I have pruned the weeds and know those guys are but I really find it hard to get too mad about interpretations of Sam, Dean, or Cas that I disagree with because the show is sooo wobbly and long anyway. But I do still see and feel very painfully the way they make Cas perfect or pick out the WRONG flaws to get mad at him for sometimes in fandom. But, really I can only see "clear" character profiles for side characters and I think the Gabriel fandom interpretation has to be the wildest because they killed him and then brought him back like a decade later having gotten a fandom personality graft. Hilarious. They even put a little cheeky sabriel I mean? Who else has done that?

I think the prev. answer kind of goes into one of them but I'm actually going to say Dean instead. I know. I know I said there's no way to consistently blah blah blah. I contain multitudes. I think the issue stems from the show so myopically agreeing with Dean at all times that even the canon makes him something else but like. Yeah

18. it's absolutely criminal that the fandom has been sleeping on...

Kevin, I guess? In my day (I am a post-s8 hop on) Kevin was everywhere. Now because he's been dead for so long obviously a lot of fic doesn't have him in it, but I miss Kevin. If we all just stopped caring about who is dead in this show we could have more fics like this GENIUS one where Kevin is back and the dynamics between him Dean, Cas, Jack, and etc are soooooo good. Oh, and per my own fan fic, Hael from 9x01 she's one of the only angels who describes herself as creating something! Angels really get whittled away to just bureaucrats and soldiers in this show but she's an indication that at least some were tasked with aesthetic and creative aims despite not being allowed to feel anything towards them and I find that FASCINATING.

22. your favorite part of canon that everyone else ignores

Okay I went digging through my mental archives. I'm going to say something that maybe more people explore and I just don't see it a lot but I know the show forgot. Cas possessed Claire. I just personally think she should have vague memories of the moment, feeling like her head was split open and seeing from 20 different directions at once and seeing souls and feeling the flow of life all around her etc etc ya know. Horror shit

A couple of sabriel summer prompts have caught my eye. Well 3, but who's counting xD

I've been thinking: water parks + summer job could make a nice and hilarious combo! Imagine Sam getting a job in a water park and gabriel coming to bug him every single time to seduce him. Gabe would so get him fired!

But also thinking of sam and gabe in the beach and sandcastles!!! And idk I like it, fluffy, lots of summer feeling. Wish I could draw it!!!

BUT kissing in the rain? I... isn't that one of the best tropes ever made? Even Crowley from GO thinks so!! Like things are going bad for aome reason, there's some angst. A fight? A confession? Both? And then goes the kiss ❤❤❤

Hi love, thank you so much for the prompts! I adore all of these! But the summer jobs/water park totally called to me first. I completely wrote this short version -'cause I may have had a whole idea bout Dad! Gabe and Sam working at a water park but it has turned into a thing- forever ago but then life happened. But I didn't forget, and I do have some other musings on the other ones that hopefully I can turn into something for ya. This one kinda turned into a 5 times Gabriel used a bad pickup line and the one time Sam did. I just really enjoy the idea of Gabriel using the worst water based pickup lines and Sam just digging it. xD I hope you enjoy this little crack fic <3

Summer Jobs and Summer Crushes

"Hey, someone left the door open."

"Wonder if someone's in there."

The moment he heard the hushed voices, Sam remembered Bobby's reminder to close the storage door behind him. He groaned inwardly, unable to see them from his searching, and hoped it wasn't some jocks about to steal something. The brunette wasn't in the mood to defend the water park's equipment and hoped they would pass by without a problem. Sam listened for the voices that seemed to stick out amongst the sound of people enjoying the rides and water park. The two seemed to be not far from the open door with their voices low, the two men speaking in hushed tones next to each other. He kept his ears open for them, making sure they stayed at the front of the staff shed as he dug around for the extra boards his boss had told him to grab. He made a sound of achievement when he found them closer to the door. Sam huffed as he climbed over some floaties and reached up to grab the boards, cursing at his wet fingers and slippy grip, his body still wet from his dunk in one of the pools.

“Damn, I’d let him take a ride on my slip-and-slide.”

At the horrible line said with too much awe in the lilting tone, Sam snorted. At the sound, a curse sounded and Sam could hear feet moving quickly away. He got a hold of one of the boards, and tilted his head in the direction of the mirror that hung on the corner. His gaze caught two pairs of legs running away, but couldn't be sure who was the one who spoke the horrible line he wasn't meant to hear. The brunette’s brows scrunched, grabbing the few other boards he could see before walking out and closing the door behind him.

Sam looked around him for the two men he had seen fleeing, but couldn't see anyone. He let out a huff, writing it off as a fluke of the first day of the season. With his broad shoulders and towering form, it wasn’t often that someone approached him, let alone hit on him so openly. He couldn't say he minded, even if it was ridiculous and had him chuckling to himself for the rest of the day, wishing he had seen the person who had said it. Sam figured it was a hilarious one-off that at least had gotten him through the rest of his shift. He had no idea it would be the first of many horrible pickup lines over the course of the summer, or how much he would enjoy the fleeing moments shared with the man that had vanished that day.

Sam didn’t think about the man again as the week wore on, and he got used to the different parts of the park. He normally worked at the amusement park during his summer break from his college courses, but Bobby had said the water park was the most short-handed this year, and Sam hadn't protested the change. For the most part, it was the same, other than paying slightly more and the different safety courses he had to take. Sam had nearly forgotten about the whispered come-on when he finally heard the voice again a week later.

“You know, if you love water, it means you love 70% of me.”

Sam nearly choked on his drink, recognizing the voice as the same one from the shed last week. He put down his drink, trying to digest the pickup line as he stared at his recyclable water bottle with wrinkled brows. As he turned to see if the guy had stuck around this time, Sam blinked at the short and dripping man the cheesy line had come from. The man’s brown hair was slicked back with water, but a few strains escaped and remained plastered to his cheeks, framing his face and catching the sun as he grinned at him. Sam felt his mouth dry a bit and couldn't accredit to the heat, his hazel eyes drifting over the shorter and definitely freshly out of the water man whose trunks seemed to cling to him. He felt his lips curve into a crooked smile when the other wiggled his brow. Sam took in the cheeky smile that bloomed across the shorter man's cheeks, taking in his shirtless upper half. Sam let his hands go to his waist, trying to contain his grin at the other's attention, who was bending forward to lean more onto the countertop between them.

“I hate water, actually," Sam lied, crossing his arms over his chest. "Why do you think I’m at the snack shop?” He countered, walking closer to him and glancing around the small space.

"Bullshit," the man called with narrowed eyes, his smile unfazed as he wagged a finger at him. “Nope, don't believe you," the shorter man declared, smirking up at Sam as he placed his chin on his fist, elbows resting on the countertop. "I’ve seen you in the water, you’re part fish.” His eyes seemed to dance as they drifted over Sam's dimpled smile before looking past him to the rows of candy and bags of snacks. “But, I don’t mind some eye candy while I order my candy," he added with a wink of his whiskey-hued eyes.

Sam rolled his gaze away from the warm eyes and confident smile, denying the heat he could feel on his cheeks as he shook his head to obscure the view of his red that most likely was tinting his face and ears.

“You’re terrible," he said, unable to contain his smile and huffing chuckle.

“Oh, hunny, you have no idea," he practically purred in response. His grin was permanent, clearly pleased with himself as he soaked in the sight of Sam. "And here all summer.”

"I’m pretty sure you’ll get bored before I think you’re funny.”

The man hummed, tilting his head from side to side, thinking about it, but never taking his eyes off of him. “Nah, you already do.” His grin returned when Sam huffed a dry laugh, dimples dotting his shy smile. “Can I have a large blue slushy, two candy necklaces, a bag of sour patches and jolly ranchers, a handful of the gummy burgers, and an order of cheese fries if you please my new very handsome friend?”

The brunette's eyebrow raised at the tall order for the small man. “You weren’t kidding about the candy,” Sam grumbled, having a feeling it was all for him, before moving to make his order.

“Wasn’t kiddin’ about the eye candy, either.”

Sam smiled, facing away from him, yet feeling the other's bright eyes tracking down his tall form and feeling himself fix his posture subconsciously. He rolled his eyes at himself, looking over his shoulder at the man that was in fact staring at him unabashed, and finding himself wanting more of the short man's attention.

“Do you always come on so strong?” Sam questioned, looking away from him to the slushy machine.

“No, but I only have the summer to get you out of those trunks and onto a date with me, so,” he replied breezily, dragging out the word with a casual shrug of his shoulders. "Strong works."

Sam resisted his urge to laugh, biting his cheek as he set down the slushy and half of the candy he had ordered on the counter between them.

“That’s not very long,” Sam said as he got the rest of his order. "I'm not gonna make it easy for you, candy man."

When the nickname got a rise out of the shorter, Sam felt the other's boisterous laugh warm his chest, a smile filling his lips at the win. His eyes roamed over the other man’s dimples, unable to deny his intrigue and pleasure at causing the man to laugh so freely. The shorter man leaned back from the counter as his laughter calmed. The jovial sweet tooth tapped his card over the reader, smiling all the while.

“Wouldn't be any fun if ya did, hazelnut,” he said with a confident wink, grabbing his bag of treats and fries before turning to walk away. “See ya around!” He called over his shoulder as he sucked on his straw and walked towards the tables.

Sam watched him walk away, unable to help the slow responding wave he gave or the way his gaze immediately went to the man’s ample backside and wet clinging swim trunks as he sauntered towards the sun-drenched tables.

Damn.

The brunette had expected to see him again on his shift, and couldn’t help the disappointment he felt when his shift was over without another run-in with the flirtatious shorter man that would probably fit perfectly against his side. But, thankfully, for Sam's daydreaming, he didn’t have to wait long to hear another horrible pickup line from the first person to hit on him first since college.

“Exactly how tall do you have to be to ride this ride?”

Sam couldn’t help the peal of laughter that came from him, caught off guard, as he turned to the next group in line for the lazy river and was unsurprised to find the short male smirking up at him.

“Taller than you, candy man,” Sam returned without thinking.

When the man gave him an exaggerated pout that made him want to bend down and kiss him, Sam chose to laugh instead. He chuckled, hand scraping at the back of his neck as he looked around at the families and older people in line, someone with the dirty blonde today. Sam looked over the raven-haired man beside him, who seemed to be chastising him.

“There are children here, you know that, brother?” He asked in a tone that suggested he knew he did, but felt the need to remind him anyway.

“Yeah, but,” the man whose hair seemed to be getting more streaks of gold in his hair the more the summer wore on gave an exaggerated roll of his eyes, “I’m a kid at heart.”

That got a huff from who Sam supposed was his brother, the man turned his blue eyes to Sam. “He really is," he said as a means of apologizing, and Sam couldn't help but chuckle and dismiss it.

"It's fine, though I haven't heard worse yet," Sam admitted, glancing at the line before towards the start of the river just as the raven-haired man pushed his shorter brother forward.

“Come on, Gabriel, this was your pick. Don't hold up the line with your ogling.”

“Gabriel?” Sam’s brows rose, a grin widening at getting the name he hadn’t received from the lurid man he hadn't stopped thinking about. "Candy man's name is Gabriel?" His lips spread into a grin as he looked over the man who groaned at his brother.

Gabriel frowned at the other before looking back at the tall man. “Because I’m an angel.” The words were paired with a shit-eating grin as he gave Sam their tube to hold steady as he slid into his seat to wait for his brother.

Sam couldn’t help the disbelieving laugh as the other man got in beside Gabriel. He leaned closer to the dirty blonde as he got them into position, smiling over his shoulder.

“I doubt that very much, Gabriel,” he said in a hushed tone, inclining his head toward the shorter brunette, whose hair was streaked with sun-bleached gold.

Sam reveled in the look of surprise and heat that covered Gabriel's face and filled his eyes as he floated further away with the stream of water. Sam couldn't help but feel like he looked ready to jump out and swim back to him just to have a final word. The idea brought another smile to his face and kept him lighthearted until he ran into Gabriel again.

When Sam spotted Gabriel later that day, the dirty blonde was exiting the wave pool with a woman that had her red hair pinned and was magically still dry. He grinned at him, unable to help his eyes from wandering the water as it rolled down the stocky man's defined, but not overly, chest and stomach. Sam swallowed, watching him comb back his wet hair and sharing a glance with the woman before looking back at him.

“Is this the one then, Gabriel?”

Sam heard the woman ask, as he approached them, seeing the man nod. He chuckled to himself, dipping his head forward, happy to know Gabriel talked as much about him as he did about Gabriel. The brunette couldn’t help but smile the closer he got, his eyes wandering over the bright floral pattern of Gabriel's swim trunks before looking back to his cheeky grin.

“Hey, candy man, given up yet?”

Gabriel shook his head with a barking laugh. “Never,” he grinned, a hand motioning to Sam's bare midriff while his other went to his waist, elbow pointed outward. “You are like a gold medal. I won’t stop until I get to you.”

“Oh! That was terrible, luv,” the woman beside him groaned, her green eyes rolling. “Please tell me it isn’t working, dear.”

Sam shrugged, unable to help his dimpled grin at the terrible line and amused glint in Gabriel’s eyes. “Funny is cute,” he offered with a crooked grin, enjoying watching Gabriel’s infectious smile grow, his eyes lighting with the force of it. "See you around, Gabriel," he said, making sure to add more husk to his voice as he passed them to go to his next station.

Over the course of the next two weeks, Sam lost count of how many horrible pickup lines Gabriel offered and how many random tidbits he had learned about the forward man. Other than being humor-filled, Gabriel was smart, talented, and going to university to study art. After meeting him Sam always looked forward to his shifts at the snack bar the most, the job giving them the most opportunity for the two to talk without holding up the line.

After the third week of running into each other, Sam was confident that Gabriel was making full use of his season pass to be there during so many of Sam's shifts. Bobby had even made a point to talk to Sam a few times about it, wondering if Gabriel was bothering him, and then reminding him about using his break time to flirt when it was clear Sam was more than interested in the dirty blonde. Sam promised to make sure it didn’t affect his work, especially towards the end of summer when a heat wave came and the crowds grew.

Sam was currently swapped at the snack bar, but when he spotted Gabriel in line, he felt an excitement pool in his stomach. His lips rose at the sight of the man, who had gained an impressive tan over the summer, and cloaked in an oversized SpongeBob beach towel.

“You got a break coming up?” Gabriel questioned, stepping aside after ordering and seeing the line of people behind him. “I could use some help with something.”

“Yeah?” Sam’s brows scrunched, Gabriel hadn’t ever asked him to share his break. “I can take a break after the rush,” he answered, already moving on to help the woman and her children who were waiting impatiently.

When Sam finally got through the rush and Jo came to cover him, he didn’t have to look far to spot Gabriel sitting with his snacks, still munching on a Snickers ice cream bar.

“So, what? No pickup lines today, candy man?” Sam called as he walked up towards the picnic table Gabriel was sitting at.

The dirty blonde turned to him. “Well, actually-”

“I’m sorry I asked,” Sam half-heartedly grumbled, sitting down on the plastic bench beside him.

Gabriel snickered, smiling as he waved his treat at Sam. “Actually, I lost my phone, and I was hoping you could call it.”

The laugh that rumbled past Sam’s lips was deep and disbelieving. It was rare enough for someone to even approach him, let alone keep it up for most of the summer with such ridiculous lines that seemed purely meant to get him to laugh. He didn’t think he had ever had someone try so hard to gain his attention, nor was ever so focused on getting a smile out of him. Gabriel's own dimples shone at the sight of Sam's smile, clearly pleased with himself. The brunette shook his head, swiping his hands over his cheeks as he covered his laugh, to no avail. He turned sideways on the bench to take in Gabriel’s jovial brown eyes as he licked over the frozen treat in a way that wasn’t nearly innocent enough.

Sam couldn't help but watch him as he thought about it, not willing to let the summer be the end of getting to know him. Gabriel pumped his brows, drawing Sam's attention away from his swirling tongue, and forcing a cough from Sam when his gaze shot away from Gabriel's with a bashful smile.

“Why don’t you give me your phone, and I’ll just put in my number?” Sam asked, holding out his hand and motioning for him to hand it over, color tinting his cheeks and tips of his ears.

“Wait, Really?”

Sam’s brows quirked at how surprised he seemed. “Yeah, summer is almost over… I’d like to go on at least one actual date with the guy that almost got me fired.”

Gabriel chuckled, handing his phone over quickly as if he was worried Sam would change his mind. Sam took the phone as the man handed it over, typing in his number and sending himself a text. Gabriel took back the phone, reading the text Sam had sent himself and cackling.

All I have is King-Size candy. You think you can take it all?

When Gabriel's laughter died down, Sam was intent on making sure he made Gabriel laugh more. “So, where are you taking me?”

“Oh, anywhere you want, Samtacular.”

F - What’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandom?

Do you mean active participation in., or from inception? Because I don't really consider myself as having left very many fandoms even if my participation in them faltered and lay fallow for a while. For active participation, Supernatural is probably the longest I've been continuously a part of, which is funny since it's the one I resisted getting into the most. From inception, though, probably Animorphs.

I - Has Tumblr caused you to stop liking any fandoms, if so, which and why?

Tumblr actually made me dislike a fandom before I was even in it to the point that I refused to even watch the series for ten years before a crossover fanfic piqued my interest in the characters enough to go looking for more and eventually reading fanfic for it without the crossover element, and even then I resisted actually getting into the fandom until I started getting plot bunnies I couldn't ignore anymore and now I've been in the Supernatural fandom for seven years and counting. Go figure.

L - Say something genuinely nice about a character who isn’t one of your faves. (Characters you’re neutral about are fair game, as are characters you merely dislike. Characters that you absolutely loathe with the fire of ten thousand suns are exempt, as there is no point in giving yourself an aneurysm over a character that you hate.)

Lucifer had the potential to be an amazing, complex character full of head-twisting theological implications of free will and the nature of angels, the incredible and infuriatingly human potential to grow beyond the limits of what he was created to be, and he deserved better than to be Bucklemming's yoyo.

V - Which character do you relate to most?

In which fandom? I don't think I could pick just one, anyway. Online quizzes have put me as "Sam-coded", if that helps?

Z - Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go! (Prompts optional but encouraged.)

Gah! Every time someone asks me to talk about some unspecified "something", even with the codifier of "fan-related", my mind goes blank. I have no idea. I'm tired and need more sleep than I get and I could really use a hug. One of the best hugs I ever got was from Jared Padalecki at JAXCon in December of 2018. It was warm and solid and felt like hugging a flannel-wrapped tree, and I'm amazed my eyes were actually open in the photo op. Second to that was also the hug I got from Misha Collins that same weekend during an earlier op. Something about him, his presence, was just so incredibly calming that I felt like I had been dropped into a liminal space where a full thirty-minute meditation was compressed into one and a half seconds, and it left me feeling so relaxed for the whole rest of the day. Hugs are really nice, and those two in particular had to have hugged a LOT of people just that weekend alone, but it still felt special and briefly connecting. Good memories, and I'm glad all of us were in the right places within ourselves to make those memories. (I rather doubt I stand out in their memories at all, or at least I hope I don't, I was an awkward bean that weekend and I just hope I'm part of the more positive background blur in their minds.)

- Three most controversial opinions: I really love the Bunker [look, we can talk about how the aesthetics did get kinda ruined and overly sanitized and how much we all miss the motels and how it could come in as a deux ex machina at times but it gave them a home and a place dean felt safe anough to wear a robe and silly pajamas I can’t not love it also the sheer possibilities like lets put a full olympic swimming pool and gigantic greenhouse and all sorts of cursed objects and cool rooms and books with wild lote in there who knows why not]; I think Destiel is unrequited (I kinda ping-pong back and forth on this one and it’s not always my opinion but it’s my most consistent reading and it seems similar to JA’s: Cas was in love with Dean, Dean loved Cas and that’s a tragic little difference); I don’t much care for Jack (Idk how to elaborate on this without writing a whole thesis and a billion disclaimers and I do not have that kind of energy so lets leave it at that)

- Three least favorite popular ships: Sabriel (never caught wind of any sparks there tbh) Samifer (his torturer? SALS ofc but I personally cannot get into it and don’t ship it) I’d include Dean Alastair in this for the same reason but idk if it’s AS popular in general fandom) and Megstiel (I don’t deny they were a thing/on the way to being a thing/had chemistry, and I have read fics where they’re together, they just aren’t the focus of my shipping energy, I suppose?) (Destiel is not on this although again I’m one of the few people that doesn’t actively ship them I still like them and can enjoy lots of things about the ship, they’re far, faaar from least favorites lol)

Absolute favorite and least favorite character: Absolute fave is Dean (oh shocker). Least favorite os actually a though one bc while I hate some characters guts (John, most obvious villains) I tend to like them as characters? So I guess Lucifer? Absolute favorite and least favorite character: Favorite is Harry and least is Snape.

Grey’s:

Three most controversial opinions: (just three? lol) Disliking Derek and Merder, disliking George, thinking Maggie is absolutely delightful and one of my faves.

Three least favorite popular ships: Merder, Slexie (look I GET why they’re popular I just think it’s too much damn drama and they tire me) and Japril (yes I know they’re the three most popular most favorite ships SALS people it’s ok)

I think I’m going to skip FRIENDS because I just don’t interact with the fandom that much to know what’s truly popular and unpopular <3

My favorite show: Huh, if we’re being honest and excluding the others I’d have to say it’s TGP however I don’t think I have any controversial takes on that? So I’ll go with Supergirl.

Three most controversial opinions: Kara had every right to hide her superhero identity (yes even from Lena and tbh specially from her) and did nothing wrong in regards to that; people are entirely too hard on Kara in a complete disproportionate way to some other characters; I LOVE love love Dansen and even prefer it to Sanvers.

Three least favorite popular ships: Supercorp and Kara x Winn (not as bad I just am neutral?) (I kinda blanked on other popular ships I dislike?)

5. Do you prefer fast plots, pre-established relationships or slow burns?

Slow burns. All. The. Fucking. Way.

I love taking my time developing relationships, building them up step by step, exploring every crook. This goes for all kinds of relationships, platonic ones too, but I have a particular soft spot for romantic slow burns.

They are my fave thing to write when it comes to romance, in both RPs and fanfictions. They are my one fave thing to read in shippy fics. And I just freaking love talking about ships development.

I don’t mind jumping along the timeline of a ship when writing RPs, but I always also want to go back and write the first phases, because I find exploring how the feelings blossom super interesting. And also the beginning tends to influence the whole relationship, so...I think it’s important to know how it all started.

21. What’s something that immediately turns you off from shipping with someone?

Alright, this one is a bit hard to answer because I’m very selective when it comes to shipping, so there can be a lot of things that make me go “nope” when I get approached in that regard. Mostly, though, it the other mun’s behaviour towards the whole thing.

If I had to list the absolute immediate turns-off:

People trying to force a ship on me just because they see me shipping it or writing it with someone else

People who “collect” variants of a specific muse for shipping purposes only

People who demand to include smut in their ships

Total lack of OOC communication

On this blog / with the muses I’m currently writing? Uuuuh, I think it was Sabriel (Gabriel / Sam Winchester), back in the day when I still had a separated sideblog for my Spn muses.

I might be wrong, it’s been a very long while.

the worst part about being a sabriel stan is that when your scroll through the ao3 tag for sabriel, 3/4 of the fics are destiel-centric with sabriel side plots

For the artists, we have one ambitious enough to try all 31 days, the others plan to create art for 1 to 10 days.

For the writers, more than half of you (54) plan to create fluffy fics for 1 to 10 days, 18 want to write for 11 to 20 days, and five for 21 to 30 days; 22 of you amazing souls are so ambitious and plan to write for all 31 days... and one is actually planning to write more than 31 fics, meaning some days have multiple fics!! (Dare we say crazy? Yes, it's crazy! We can say that; we know the person who's attempting to do it 😉)

Most of you hadn't started by the time they filled out the survey - but that's okay, we still have time 😊

i was just coming onto tumblr to check out my dash...

my god everyone hates everyone on this site. i don’t understand it. why cant we all just accept that we’re not going to like what everyone else has to say? i ship several ships that clash together but i don’t feel the need to type an entire essay on why one of them is completely stupid and the other is valid. it’s not true. no ship is more valid than another. the ship doesn’t belong to you. it doesn’t belong to me either, or even the creators of the show/book/movies.

if you ship destiel, you’re awesome okay? you’re doing great and for everything that supernatural has put you through, you’re still surviving. barely, perhaps, but you’re surviving. you’re allowed to ship them.

if you ship wincest, you’re also awesome. that ending was brutal and wholesome and if you’re taking it as wincest subtext then go right ahead. you are allowed to do that. you don’t need other people’s validation to ship people.

if you ship sabriel or saileen then you’re just as awesome as everyone else! sam deserves love and so does eileen and gabriel and you are allowed to ship them.

if you ship megstiel, you’re awesome too. meg really turned around in the end and there’s no denying that she loved cas, and if misha says that cas loved her too? yeah. you’re allowed to ship them. you’re allowed to feel happy after him saying that.

i know im not really anyone on this site yet and i probably wont ever be, but I just want to say that no matter what hate is happening on here, or in the world, you’re allowed to ship who you want to ship.

it’s okay. really.

you’re allowed. the ships don’t belong to anyone and that means that you’re allowed to interpret everything how you want to interpret it. if someone posts something that makes you feel bad about shipping people, or ashamed, just know that it’s okay. people get to have their opinions but that means that you get to have an opinion too.

you are awesome for shipping people, okay? it doesn’t matter what ship it is, you’re awesome and you’re allowed to do that.

and if everyone else is hating on you for shipping whatever ship you do, i don’t.

i don’t hate you for shipping people and if you need anything--a pick me up, a reminder that it’s okay and you’re allowed to exist and take up space and be, then you can message me okay?

because you are allowed to exist no matter what anyone else says.

Supernatural: Unpopular Opinions

This is mostly a stream of consciousness cause I’ve seen a lot of strong opinions and some I agree with and some I disagree with. I don’t know if anyone will agree with any of these opinions, but I just wanted to get them out there in case anyone does. If you disagree, that’s totally fine! I mean no disrespect to anyone who sees things differently :)

1. Both Bisexual Dean and Straight Dean are valid interpretations of the text. Believing that Dean is straight does not automatically make you homophobic. Believing that Dean is bisexual doesn’t make you delusional. Personally? I think he’s bisexual. Either way, jumping onto anyone’s post with the sole purpose of invalidating their reading of the text or name-calling is rude.

2. My own personal headcanon? I think Jensen Ackles take on the character is genuinely that Dean’s feelings for Castiel are “open to interpretation”. My belief is that even Dean doesn’t even know the nature of his own feelings in regards to Castiel. It’s not something he’s ever really looked at too closely, you know? I think the confession probably shook him, but he figures it doesn’t matter now anyway. Regardless of the nature of his feelings for Castiel, I still think he would have immediately looked for Cas in heaven. He’s still his best friend.

3. John Winchester is one of my favorite characters. Top five, definitely. However, I believe that “Lebanon” and “Carry On” gave him far too much credit. John is far from perfect. But he’s not a monster either. It’s his complexity and nuance that makes him so interesting. On the one hand, he’s a terrible father. He treats his sons like soldiers, does a number on both their psyches, and can be very narrow-minded. On the other hand, he only ever did what he thought was best for his sons, he was a “righteous man” and a hero, and he was working through a lot of trauma himself. He’s very flawed, but he’s not actively malicious. He loves his sons, but he makes a lot of mistakes. He’s a complicated character and I both love and hate him simultaneously. That’s what makes him such a good character.

4. Carver Era is my least favorite Era. I don’t hate it and there are a lot of great episodes in that time. But this was the Era where I almost quit the show and got so bored that I had to force myself through the episodes. It wasn’t until they brought back Lucifer that I started getting excited again and it wasn’t until “Don’t Call Me Shurley” that I actually started enjoying the show again.

5. Chuck Shurley is another one of my top five characters (the other three being Dean, Castiel, and Gabriel). I love dorky prophet Chuck, I love absent father Chuck, and I love evil maniacal Chuck. The writing is inconsistent, but they’re all so compelling to watch and interesting for different reasons. Honestly, I just think Rob Benedict is a really great actor and deserves major props for playing three separate characters for the price of one. I still think it’s a shame that they weren’t able to pull off a wrathful antagonistic (but not fully evil) Chuck. I love the meta of the character’s defeating the writer, but how cool would a disappointed and tired Chuck finally losing his patience with humanity and going all Noah’s Arc/Sodom and Gomorrah on Earth have been???

6. I believe Sam’s ending is just as tragic as Castiel and Dean’s. Castiel was never told he was loved and Dean never got to live his life. But the ending I cried the most about was Sam’s. Sam had to watch as all of his hunting friends and surrogate family disappeared before his eyes. He lost Eileen again. We have no idea whether he ever reunited with any of them or not. He lost his best friend and wasn’t even there to say goodbye to him. His son flew the coop. Not too long after, he lost his brother. Sam lost everyone he loved. Sam then spends the next forty years mourning all those who he’s lost and tries to live the life he thinks they’d want for him so that their sacrifices were worth it. It’s just so...depressing.

7. I ship Destiel, Saileen, Dean/Jo, Megstiel, and Sabriel. I feel like these ships can all coexist since they all existed at different times in the story. They don’t have to be in competition with each other. They all had potential and they all ended tragically.

8. Rufus was the best part of the finale. The fact that the only characters (outside of Sam and Dean) who were mentioned were Bobby, Castiel, Jack, John, Mary, Donna, and Rufus is so funny to me. I mean, I know why, but still. There are so many unanswered questions and emotional arcs left unresolved, but at least we know Rufus is in Dean and Sam’s heaven. Also my favorite headcanon from the DeanCas wedding is that Rufus taught them the Hora and that they did the chair lift because I imagine Dean would hate every second of it and Castiel would spend the whole time trying to calm him down and assuring him that he won’t fall off the chair.

9. None of the main actors deserve any hate. They’ve all said and done stupid things, but they all seem like overall good people. They’re all friends with each other. Trying to compare their friendships, put certain actors on pedestals, and demonize other actors is just....pointless and immature. We don’t know these people.

10. Canon ends when Chuck is defeated and the author is rendered powerless. Anything after the beach scene is subjective and you can choose your own ending. Does Jack become the new God? Does Dean die on a hunt a few weeks later? Five years later? Does Dean save Cas from the empty? Does Sam marry Eileen? Do Dean and Cas reunite in heaven? Does Sam start a hunting network? Does Sam quit hunting? Does his son get into the hunting life or does he have a normal life? Is the purgatory and empty situation resolved? It’s all up to your interpretation.
