Okay, so this is going to be the only post I make about this because I’m done, I’m just so done at this point.

If you don’t ship Daemyra or you don’t like Daemon, that’s cool! You are totally welcome to have your own feelings or opinions on the character and/or pairing, that’s valid. But I am a blog that posts a lot of Daemon and Daemyra, so if that’s not your boat and you really do not want to see it, you are welcome to ignore the posts, unfollow or block. That’s your right, you are totally welcome to decide what content you see and what makes you comfortable, I don’t want to make people uncomfortable.

But sending me nasty messages, both in DMs and in my asks, is taking it too far.

I’m not going to answer these individually because it’s a waste of time. It’s boring. Frankly I’ve got much better things to do nowadays. I’ve already had to go through several years of this before in a different fandom and I learnt the hard way that answering each and every one is silly, unhealthy even. I will make a blanket statement about this in general though, and it’ll be the only thing I write about it.

I don’t care what you ship, don’t ship, etc, if you’re resorting to doing something like using the r slur against an autistic person because of a FICTIONAL television show/fandom, you need to take a step back from online, from fandoms, and evaluate your life. There’s no way that you’re proving you’re right in any way if you do this.

As for the Matt Smith thing: for anyone unaware, yes, I have tickets for next month (3 weeks technically) to meet him at a London comic con. I paid a ridiculous amount of money for a bundle to guarantee a photo and autograph, and that’s on top of buying a ticket to actually get into the convention. As it is, I’m anxious about it because comic cons when you’re autistic and struggle with crowds/sensory issues is a NIGHTMARE. I don’t go to cons regularly because of that, it’s a literal hell for me. It’s so bad that I’ve had to convince my mostly-antisocial dad to come with me. I’ve also been tormenting myself and getting nervous over meeting him because I’m just anxious and nervous in general, and even though it’ll probably be a quick thing, it’s still huge. I’m scared he’ll be a dick or something, but also just because holy shit im gonna meet Matt Smith?!? Having this BS on top of my already panicking and freaking out brain is literally doing me no favours. I know none of these people care, they want to upset me, but genuinely I’m at the point where I’m debating selling both tickets (one for me, one for my dad) as well as the Matt Smith photo/autograph bundle because it’s making me ill and it’s not worth me losing anymore health over.

I literally just want to enjoy my little ship, the characters, the story of the book/show, maybe occasionally write one of my little fics. I don’t want to fight with anyone. It’s an escape from work and life, but at the end of the day, it’s fiction: it’s not real. It’s not worth getting this mad or argumentative over. Just let me ship my ship and enjoy reblogging gif posts please.

Here comes the booooooy~

Hello!

Thank you for your patience with me as I work through my issues, and thank you all so much for keeping my blog active and alive. Though I've been absent and unwell both physically and mentally for some time, I'm ready to come back with a few changes to help preserve my sanity. I appreciate each of you more than you know!

Just as a quick review (and introduction to those new followers of mine); hi there! My name is Ander, and I've been a practicing green/herbal/kitchen witch and Pagan for the past several years. As of lately, I work closely with Aphrodite, Salacia, Melinoe, and as of very recently, Dionysus. Most of my posts are beginner-friendly information-based posts, as well as tips, ideas, and lists. I'm disabled and currently waiting for approval for SSDI, so I am frequently tired and may take some time to answer messages, asks, or comments. That being said, I am re-opening asks (no anon, as I have received more than a few nasty surprises) so feel free to reach out with questions or comments.

To get back into the groove of things, I will be reblogging a few of my older posts as I work on a wave of new posts. :)

As for changes, y'all can expect just a few things.

Instead of daily posts, each post will be scheduled for either every other day or every three days depending on my brainpower. Most of the time, I will write multiple posts and schedule them, so my replies to any comments, questions, or tags on posts may take a day or two.

Each post will have the same beginning tags, with a few more related to the specific post type at the end. This is for the sake of reaching more people's home page, making it easier to set up in my drafts, and keeping it all organized in my head. You are welcome to reblog without the tags, copy/paste the tags, or create your own.

If someone is causing trouble in the comments (again); tag me. I will delete their comments and block them.

As for reminders about my posts:

NEW D&D SOURCE BOOK OUT

Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft came out a few days ago. I bought it an read through it. The book expands stuff in the classic module the Curse of Strahd, a Gothic Horror centred campaign in which a party are pitted against a very powerful Vampire and other types of horrors in a cursed land.

Most of the book’s content details these things:

How to make a horror centred campaign

How to make scary encounters

How to scare your players while also not crossing personal boundaries

I have to commend the book on how informative it is on how to maintain a healthy playing environment. Such as having a thorough discussion with the players before you begin about what players are comfortable with and what they aren’t, so you have topics and themes in the story that you know not to touch upon as it may upset players and ruin the fun. The book also recommends that you avoid using players irl phobias in the game as it ruins gameplay experience as well. For more advice on how to run a healthy fun playing experience, I recommend checking out Dimension 20′s Adventuring Academy podcast. Its a great advice podcast on all things table top.

All the stuff in the Source Book is horror specific, so if you’re not into horror or any scary stuff in D&D, the book is not for you and that’s fine. For those that like horror, the book does a great job of helping set the tone for a horror game and how to build and maintain tension.

It also sets out a guide for how to adapt elements of Curse of Strahd into homebrew games. So say you love the vibe and mechanics in Curse of Strahd, but you don’t really care with the BBEG being a Vampire. The source book lists at least 16 adventures with varying genres of Horror with different creatures and encounters.

So in one adventure, you can play in this accursed desert where the BBEG is a powerful Mummy Lord. Or in another you can play in a strange carnival in which the BBEG is a Fey creature. There’s zombie outbreaks, mindflayers- everything you can imagine, you can create and play and the book will help you to do so.

The book polishes up some Unearthed Arcana stuff, namely three new playable races. Dhampir (a watered down vampire that you can play as a PC), Hexblood (a humanoid mutated by Hag magic) and Reborn (an undead or construct reincarnation) all of them are pretty interesting.

They also sort out two UA subclasses, namely College of Spirtits Bard and Warlock patron of Undead. he latter of which you can have someone like Strahd be your patron.

There’s also some new backgrounds that are interesting and a new Dark Gift feature that is also pretty cool. A character can choose to receive a Dark Gift from a Dark Lord, an example being Strahd, so that they get some benefits but also some negative impacts as well. It can make some very fun game play for those who are interested.

But, the main thing I buy source books for is the classic DM stuff. NEW MONSTERS! Here are some of my favourites.

Dullahan, a headless horseman. Very spooky and potentially lethal

Death Head, very interesting monster that can be flavoured to a DMs whims. ou can have a flying medusa head or a flying nothic head, or any type of flying head. The head is your oyster. They go well with the Dullahan and there is a specific adventure in the Source Book that includes both of them in case you wanna play a sleepy hollow esque game

Gallow Speaker. Picture a mix between an Oracle and a Spectre, you have one very creepy monster that can also make a very spooky NPC

Gremishka. A very creepy monstrous cat that is like the opposite of a familiar. In fact, its whole existence is just to be the bane of Spellcasters. Very creepy and has some interesting features, though I think you’d have to juice it up if your Wizard is higher than lvl 3.

Inquisitors. You have three separate Inquisitors whose whole lore mixes with Curse of Strahd but I won’t get into. There are; Inquisitor of the Mind Fire, Inquisitor of the Sword and Inquisitor of the Tome. If you like elements of the Githzarai but don’t know how implement them into your campaign, Inquisitors are a good alternative

Jiangshi. A very interesting undead. Basically a mix between a Ghoul and a Vampire, would make a very interesting monster for low level PCs

Loup Garou. An alpha werewolf. For werewolf fans like me, I imagine you’re disappointed that werewolves are only a CR 3. With Loup Garou though, you now have a werewolf with legendary actions. Very interesting monster and there is a very cool adventure in the source book that features the monster. It also has some very cool werefwolf mechanics if a PC gets infected with lycanthropy and also has a magic item linked to it thats pretty cool

Nechricor. Imagine if a Lich failed at Lichdom and accidentally turned themselves into an ooze; that’s Nechricor. I always love the tope of very powerful villains trapped in like a bottle or a knife or a statue, so a Nechricor is right up my alley

Nosferatu. Very much like a Vampire Spawn but a hell of a lot grosser. They have a feature where they can hurt people by projectile vomiting blood on them. Very nasty. If you wanna remove the romanticism from vampirism, Nosferatu are the way to go. Also if you wanna use vampires with lower level PCs, Nosferatu can be very good alternative

Vampire Mind Flayer. Enough said

And that’s most of my favourites. There’s plenty more, such as the Relentless Slasher- which is great if you wanna play a murder mystery campaign or a Friday the 13th one shot- very interesting monster.

There’s a lot of other monsters that are also really cool but I don’t really want to share them cause they’re so gross or creepy. There’s a monster called the Boneless which is literally just a bunch of skin that chokes people. There’s a bog star spawn monster that is just super gross and horrifying. There’s also a monster called a Carrionette, which is just a doll that can steal your soul- super creepy! The artists definitely outdid themselves on this source book.

hello hello hello !! my name is lara and i’m super excited to be here. here’s a short intro to bobbie (i’ll probably expand on it later). hmu for plots !!

bobbie was born in new york city, something that is clear the instant anyone meets them — they’re from new york, nothing really interests them.

both their parents worked. dad was a marketing executive, mom was a real estate agent, so bobbie was raised by several nannies. they keep in touch to this day.

their parents divorced when they were young, just a few months short of thirteen. it was mostly amicable — the marriage had just gone stale. they got joint custody and split up the major holidays. bobbie’s teens were split in two.

both parents remarried fairly quickly. bobbie gained two sets of step-siblings (two on each side). they’ve never been particularly close.

it was a comfortable life. they weren’t spoiled, but they never wanted for nothing.

in school, they got along with pretty much everyone. never belonged to any clique, they just sorta floated between them, being friends with a lot of people, but never getting too close to any one person in particular. that aloofness got them a lot of attention from both boys and girls. they dated a few, but never got too invested (a habit they’ve carried onto adulthood).

they moved to london after graduating high school. bobbie had visited once in their teens and fell in love with the city, so when the time came to pick a university, bobbie decided to hop across the pond. staying in their hometown, surrounded by their entire family, wasn’t very appealing to them (despite how much they love it there), but no other city in the us could compare to new york.

after graduating, they started working at a small law firm and made enough money to buy themselves a nice, comfortable apartment. nothing excessive. just comfortable. they’re pretty happy with their life as it is at the moment.

bobbie’s a charmer. they can make anyone fall in love with them within minutes of meeting them. they’re a fantastic conversationalist, a great listener, and just being around them makes people feel good.

people fall in love with them easily, but it’s not always reciprocated. and if it is, they’re just not good at expressing it. they suck at relationships ( the entire musical is pretty much ABOUT that ). whenever things get serious, when it’s time for bobby to become vulnerable and intimate, they back off. they never quite know how to end it, either. bobbie has a nasty habit of letting relationships grow stale and waiting for the other person to do the inevitable.

their relationships often overlap, due to the fact that bobbie’s also afraid of being alone ( you see what the problem is here ?? ).

bobbie flirts with everyone, makes them fall in love, becomes disinterested, and instead of doing anything about that, waits for the person to dump them.

they’re secretly a hopeless romantic. they’re scared of intimacy, but they actually crave it. they want to find that person they can be completely vulnerable with, but they get scared when things get too real. so they act like they’re fine with the way their life is. and that’s just the problem, it is fine. they’re not unhappy, but they’re not completely happy either. just okay. content. comfortable. the crave something more, but never do anything to actually get it.

on the flipside, bobbie’s a great friend. if you’re bobbie’s friend, they’ll never let you down. they’re always just a call away. they’ll make you laugh, they’ll be your wingperson, your babysitter, whatever you need, bobbie is there.

who is the big spoon/little spoon Jaden is the little spoon!! he prefers being the big spoon tbh he likes curling up against bastions fuckin ripped back but jaden always falls asleep first because he has to get this twelve hours or else he will be a grumpy boy but bastion?? bastion stays up all night drinking coffee and doing god knows what bc he’s the type of guy thats like ‘hey jaden im gonna go read a bit before i got to bed’ and then he fuckin stays up all night because he has no self control lmao so when it’s like 3am and he’s finally put down his book or finished dicking around on the computer he finally gets in bed and he doesnt want to wake up his husband (yes theyre married in my mind ok im love them) so he just lays down and pulls the human kuriboh to his chest and falls asleep

what is their favorite non-sexual activity the standard answer is Card Games but besides dool masters they like to go on drives and look at stars and talk abt whatever. bastion is a chemical engineer and jaden’s his professional duelist trophy husband so they dont get to be together as much as they want bc jaden’s tournament schedule so when they’re together they gotta make it count u know so bastion will pick jaden up from the airport and they’ll just start driving out of the city talking about DM or what bastion’s been up to or whatever’s going through jaden’s mind (an enigma lmao) and then when there are no more streetlights to make it difficult to see the stars they’ll pull over and lay on the hood and cuddle and keep talking. it’s like 4am before they finally go home and since they’re going to sleep at the same time jaden finally gets his chance to be the big spoon

who uses all the hot water in the morning getting jaden to shower is a fucking struggle he’s like a cat. living in the slifer dorm made him accustomed to being a generally gross person in general so he lives off dry shampoo and body spray so he doesn’t smell like hassleberry after a workout so that leaves bastion to take all of the water because he showers every morning after his run and insists on h is hair being perfect and well taken care of. like the guy has at least five different hair care products in the shower at all times while jaden, even though he’s dumb thick rich, buys that 3-in-1 crap he and syrus used to make stretch for a month back in college. jaden is also known to stick his kuriboh hair under the sink and shake it out like a dog because he is a gross boy that usually gets up about ten minutes before he has to leave so there’s no time for an actual shower and we’ve gotten away from the actual question but the tldr is bastion stands under the hot water he’s got one of those mirrors to shave in the shower while he’s doing his deep conditioning treatment and has a pore strip on his nose for beautiful ™ skin

what they order from take out this one ties in a lot to my sageshipping BrOTP headcanons (on god there needs to be a brotp ask so i can scream to the world my love for bastion/alexis friendship) but the bit of background is that bastion and alexis would always order from this indian place that was open real late at night when they were in grad school together (no delivery at duel academy cause its an island u know) so it has a special place in his heart. jaden is a wimp when it comes to spice but since bastion loves it they order it anyway and the people that deliver the food know to make it wimpy baby spicy for jaden so he doesn’t end up sweating half his body weight up and crapping out lava four hours later

what is the most trivial thing they fight over oh god they dont fight a lot because they love and appreciate each other’s eccentricities but if they’re going to fight its going to be over who’s doing the driving. they both love cars, bastion likes taking it apart and modifying them and whatnot and jaden likes the aesthetique (though his aesthetique is painting flames on a corolla jaden u lil shit smh) and they both like to go fast so when they go out they bitch abt who gets to drive. bastion tells jaden he doesnt appreciate the feel of the machine and jaden says bastion drives like a fucking old man so they end up settling the matter with rousing game of rock paper scissors

who does most of the cleaning NEITHER OH MY GOD theyre both total slobs. bastion’s desk and home office is covered in his notebooks and duel monster cards, his walls covered with god knows what (formulas, dates, to-do lists, grocery lists) the guy just grabs the sharpie and starts writing because he’s afraid of forgetting something if he doesnt get it down right then. jaden lives in filth he has three day old bowls of cereal at his desk and uses used napkins as tissues he is certifiably NASTY. anyway they hire a housekeeper to make sure the entire house doesnt fall into disarray and she’s like their surrogate mother making sure they eat more than takeout and coffee and making sure the house smells nice. they call her Mama Cheryl (good middle aged mom name) and she’s the embarrassing mom at jadens local tournaments the kind that prints out huge pictures of his face and wears shirts with Neos on them and cheers for her boy v loudly. again we’re away from the question but i have a lot of headcanons abt this i’ll probs put in my dissertation lol

what has a season pass in their DVR hmmm this is an interesting one…i like to think jaden loves crime shows because they’re heroes and he likes watching the good guys ™ win in the end. his favorite show is psych (which u all should watch its hilarious) but since that ended a while ago he’s been in to criminal minds and SVU because he likes watching the really diabolical criminals get caught. bastion never knew his mans was into such dark stuff until he opened the season pass thingy and got quite the heart attack because he thought jaden was all butterflies and flowers and funny stuff but bastion had to learn the duality of man the hard way. bastion doesn’t watch television that much but his guilty pleasure is vikings on the history channel and stuff on the discovery channel because he loves learning what a nerd

who controls the netflix queue jaden is the one that likes to watch netflix the most but i wouldnt say he’s in control per se. they’re usually down for watching what each other likes but in the end jaden will sometimes end up superseding bastion because dammit bas we are not watching a documentary about the dead sea scrolls you dont even believe in god and bastions like fine youre cute we can watch Castle (even though thats not on netflix but i wish it were)

who calls up the super/landlord when the heat’s not working jaden. jaden all the way. bastion brings up a a wikihow article about how to fix the hvac system and he’s like I CAN FIX THIS and jadens like ily babe but you work with chemicals not with this kind of thing ur gonna break it like the time u tried to fix the sink and fuckin clogged the shit out of it we are calling Cheryl and Cheryl’s like jaden im a housekeeper call someone who actually does this for a living. anyway while theyre waiting for the professionals to get there bastion tries to demonstrate he knows what he’s doing he is smort by writing the steps and shit on the wall and jadens like youre so cute but no dont touch the heating system. he has to distract his lil nerd by asking him about what deck he should use for his next tournament or what the probability of drawing three polymerizations on the first turn is and bastion loves talking about math so jaden keeps asking questions until the system is fixed (he doesnt remember much of bastions mathematical explanations but bastion looks so cute with his eyes all bright and shiny talking about statistics)

who leaves their stuff around BOTH they are slobs. jadens a bit worse if we’re being honest because while bastion leaves his papers and cards around schmaden schmuki leaves his underwear and food and cups in the living room and is prone to stripping off his clothes for one reason or another and just laying on the couch watching ESPN with his goddamn pants on the floor and saying they were constricting his knees or some shit when bastion asks why he feels the need to be half naked all the time. bastion had his own room in college so he doesnt quite understand why jadens comfortable just answering the door with a trail of clothing behind him because most people that dont know him assume he’s been getting bizzay but nah he just be Like That

who remembers to buy the milk jaden do because he drinks milk in his coffee. bastion drinks it black so if theres no milk its like eh whatever but jaden is a mess without his caffeine and he hates how bitter and gross it is when theres no milk in it so even if jaden’s not the one going to the grocery store he’ll write it on the wall so bastion will remember it because his mans dont check his texts that often but anything on that wall he fuckin remembers and jaden doesnt understand why he be Like That

who remembers anniversaries both! they are dumb thick in love with each other and they like to plan little things to do for the anniversary of their first date, when they made it official, their wedding, etc. jaden is much more extravagant and will do something like jump on the bed until bastion wakes up and then drag him out for breakfast and get atticus to sing a really off-key renditions of classic love songs and bastion blushes so hard and its so cute it should be criminal lmao. bastion will get jaden a cute little gift like one of those pictures where the artist takes a photo and paints it so they can hang it on their wall. or bastion will fine tune his duel disk or get him a new card for his deck. they are in big gay love and i love them so much

Ok y’all wanna know why I hunt/my reasoning for it so here it is

Idk how long this is gonna be so I’ll just put literally everything under the cut.

Basically a FAQ just for hunting-related topics, so I don’t need to keep making posts and answering asks about it. I’m not upset, I just get tired of answering the same thing over and over again,,,

Ok so I keep getting questions about why I hunt and whether or not I’ll end up posting graphic images on this blog. The answer to the second one is no. It’s disrespectful to everyone who comes to my blog for art/fanfic/shitposts/nature photos/etc to put a dead animal on my blog. I also don’t like posting those photos on the internet anyways. The only place I post em is on Facebook, where only my family and hunter friends can see them.

As for why I hunt, this is probably gonna end up waaaay more long-winded than I wanna make it but here goes:

I am a sustenance hunter. I hunt for the sole purpose of food and getting out in the woods. I am literally obsessed with the woods and mountains, ok? I could get lost in the woods for a week and probably prefer it to being in my own home. This has other reasoning behind it but that’s not what I’m talking about here. I hunt for food, is the bottom line. Basically, I was raised in a family of hunters, grew up eating wild meat (grouse instead of chicken, boar instead of pork, deer/moose/elk instead of beef) and ended up basically becoming allergic to domestic meat. I mean I can have some things, like pepperoni, some sandwich meats, and bacon, but everything else makes me very sick. Maybe it’s the hormones that are inevitably put in every domestic meat (even if it says ‘free range’ or ‘hormone free’ it’s still there, even if it’s just a trace amount), or maybe it’s because of all the fat in domestic meat. I don’t know, my body just freaks the fuck out when I eat it. Even if I can eat it, I don’t think I would. The way the animals are treated in slaughterhouses makes me sick, tbh. I hate it. Wild animals have a chance to get away and live another day. Domestic animals don’t. They’re shoved into trucks and forced through cattle pens until someone finishes them off. I hate being graphic, but I need to explain here. I’m sorry. Anyways, back on the topic of wild animals having a chance to escape.

When you see a deer in the woods, there’s a 90% chance they already know you’re there. They can smell you from a half-mile or more in ideal conditions, they have a 270 degree field of vision, and they can hear at frequencies we can’t. They’re hard to hunt. They have a ridiculously fair chance at escape. Especially if you’re bowhunting and need to sneak within 60 yards of one. The same goes for any other game animal. Here’s actually an article about the senses of deer and how much work hunters have to put in to make sure they can actually get a deer, it’s a good read!

I’m not a sport hunter, nor do I support the act of hunting for sport and glory, but the proceeds gained from hunters going to hunt via outfitters in Africa and other countries go into the small communities hosting the hunters. That’s just another reason I hunt: the money I pay for tags goes to conservation efforts and is sometimes donated to small communities in other countries.

Hunting is not senseless murder, although I won’t argue with anyone who hates hunting. That’s your opinion and there’s actually an entire section of the Hunter Education Exam (a mandatory exam and course you need to take either online or in person in order to obtain a Wildlife Identification Number [WIN] card and buy tags) dedicated to respecting the opinions of people who oppose hunting. I mean there’s a fair number of hunters who are rude and disrespectful, as there are always a few assholes in every group of people (PETA, the bad side of fandoms, terrorist groups, etc) but that shouldn’t influence the view of a group as a whole. I’m not sure whether or not I’m just talking out my ass here, but I think everyone should just respect one another despite their views. Unless their views are racist, sexist, homophobic, etc etc.
