On this Day in random cartoon history, there’s a lot to cover. The Powerpuff Girls play pretend in 2000, Squidward moves out in 2001, Stan Lee comes to Springfield in 2002, the Hoenn League kicks into high gear in 2005, Sokka’s detective skills are put to good use in 2006, Double D and Jimmy pretend to duke it out in 2007 while Ron becomes a hermit and Spud becomes an amphibian, and Princess Celestia tries acting in 2018. This day gave my favourite Kim Possible episode, so I’d say that’s the winner.

A Very LouBlu08 Christmas: Day 8 - Zoe Trent (Littlest Pet Shop (2012))

After taking a day off I’m back with my way to waste the time until Christmas! I grew up watching the 2012 LPS series back when i was a young’n and my favourite was always Zoe, so I HAD to add her to the madness. She’s adding her vocals to the party's small band, even though nobody can understand her and all they hear are just barks.

My future projects

Here are my future projects for Boomerang, Amazon Prime Video, Discovery Family & Max (streaming service) between early 2025 & late 2026.

1. Dexter’s Laboratory Season 5 (new characters being developed for Season 5 after 22 episode scripts)

2. A 2D animated direct-to-DVD & Blu-ray movie about child rights narrated by Dexter from Dexter’s Lab co-produced with UNICEF.

3. A Saturday morning cartoon based on a popular sitcom of the 1990s & the 2000s, Friends by Marta Kauffman & David Crane. The 6 main characters will be in their preteens years (ages 10 to 12) set in Central Perk & the art style will be inspired by Genndy Tartakovsky & Chris Savino in the late 1990s & the early 2000s days of Cartoon Network originals.

4. A Cartoon Network crossover show with the 2 main stars of Dexter’s Laboratory, Dexter & Dee Dee similar to the Hanna-Barbera crossover shows of the 1970s & the 1980s led by Yogi Bear.

5. A documentary style animated show about 6 preteen girls which will be a spin-off of Dexter’s Lab as the characters will be modeled after Dee Dee, Dexter’s sister.

6. A Saturday morning cartoon based on an another popular sitcom, The Big Bang Theory by Chuck Lorre & Bill Prady. The main characters will be in their preteens years (ages 10 to 12) set in Pasadena, California during the events of Young Sheldon & the art style will be inspired by Genndy Tartakovsky, Craig McCracken & Chris Savino in the late 1990s & in the early 2000s days of Cartoon Network originals, similar to the animated Friends spin-off I’ll be developing.

7. An untitled 2D animated Dexter direct-to-DVD & Blu-ray movie with Dee Dee combining the use of Flash animation & 3D cel shaded CGI.

Note: The new characters I’ll be developing will be inspired by Genndy Tartakovsky & Craig McCracken & not Pendleton Ward & J. G. Quintel.

(The Wrap) – More top brass from Turner Classic Movies are on their way out as Warner Bros. Discovery layoffs are underway across the conglomerate’s TV networks division, TheWrap has learned.

Individuals at the network with knowledge of the situation told TheWrap that TCM’s senior vice president of programming and content strategy Charles Tabesh, vice president of studio production Anne Wilson, vice president of marketing and creative Dexter Fedor and TCM Enterprises vice president Genevieve McGillicuddy will all exit the company.

The latest departures follow news on Tuesday that TCM general manager Pola Chagnon is leaving the company after more than 25 years.

U.S. Networks Group chairman and chief content officer Kathleen Finch said in a memo to staff Tuesday that Michael Ouweleen, the president of Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, Discovery Family and Boomerang, will take oversight of TCM. Ouweleen previously ran TCM.

This comes several months after a feature piece in Entertainment Weekly in which Zaslav – a man who publicly said TCM is always on in his office yet suspiciously misidentified a 20th Century Fox movie as part of Warner Bros.' library – said that the channel was safe. Ouweleen does have TCM experience, but the channel was given its own separate executives and leadership team for a reason. And there is no way Adult Swim, CN, Boomerang, Discovery Family, and TCM can have all their needs tended to under one person.

If TCM turns into reality shows with commercials + Teen Titans Go-esque marathons of a single movie for several hours, I s2g shit will be stirred by myself and TCM's dedicated fans.

Curious. A company that has recently made a handful of movies touting "look at all the IP we have" (most offensively 2021's Space Jam: A New Legacy) may, curiously, not be willing to let viewers know how to watch or learn about that deep film library they have.

Obscure Animation Subject #77: Littlest Pet Shop: A World of Our Own

The third LPS television show and the shortest-lived, it was developed by Tim Maile and Douglas Tuber and aired on Discovery Family from April 14, 2018 to January 26, 2019, running for 52 11-minute episodes.

A collaboration between Allspark Animation in the United States and Boulder Media in Ireland, it focuses on a group of six pets who use a magical portal to enter the world of Paw-Tucket, a community made for and by pets. They are able to do whatever they want in the pet world.

Although the third animated series based on LPS, the animation style is like the 2012 series, but with more polish with more shading and a more smooth feel. While the animation upgraded nicely, the writing unfortunately went through a downgrade, featuring stories already told.

The characters are also pretty bland and one-dimensional, although they aren’t terrible. The show does little to challenge the notion that it's an extended commercial for the brand, and you can tell a second season wasn’t produced, NO ONE CARED! There’s some effort, but its dull.

One cool thing though is that it has Julia Prescott wrote one episode, who also wrote the masterpiece modern Simpsons episode Treehouse of Horror XXXI, which is awesome. Otherwise, this show doesn’t have much in its favor. But hey, at least the animation was really good.

Saturday morning cartoons will live again!

This summer at Cartoon Network Studios in Burbank, California, I will develop two Saturday-morning cartoons based on Warner Bros. Television Studios’ popular sitcoms, Friends by Marta Kauffman & David Crane & The Big Bang Theory by Chuck Lorre & Bill Prady. In these animated prequels, the main characters in their respective shows will be in their preteen years (between the ages of 10 & 12). The Friends prequel will set in Central Perk while The Big Bang Theory prequel in Pasadena, California during the events of Young Sheldon & the art style will be inspired by Genndy Tartakovsky, Craig McCracken & Chris Savino in late 1990s & the early 2000s days of Cartoon Network originals. The cartoons I develop will set to premiere between early & mid 2025, both the Friends & The Big Bang Theory prequels will premiere exclusively on Discovery Family then later on HBO Max (soon Max after merging with Discovery+ on the 4th Tuesday of next month) because all the animated shows on Cartoon Network today uses the current thin line art style thanks to Pendleton Ward & J. G. Quintel, & the running time for the shows are now 15 minutes with commercials. They will be the few 2020s cartoons not to use the Pendleton Ward/J. G. Quintel art style but the thick line art style when it’s not animated in flash, same with Unicorn: Warriors Eternal by Genndy Tartakovsky. For these future projects, they will be produced by Warner Bros. Animation in association with Bright/Kauffman/Crane Productions for the Friends prequel, Chuck Lorre Productions for The Big Bang Theory prequel & Warner Bros. Television Studios for both shows respectively. Let’s bring sitcom based cartoons back.
