I know Bloodkeep is old news but hear me out

Trans Leiland who didn’t even really stand a chance for the throne as he’d been born a girl, and one of the very very few good things Zaul’Nazh has ever done was give him a masculine body in rising him to undeath, creating him sort of in his own image. I’m sure there was some selfish fucked up reasoning behind why he would have done so but Leiland would’ve seen it as an act of kindness, and devoted himself fully to his ‘savior’. Yada yada you know how it goes, Z would’ve been very gross about ogling Leiland and this poor knight would’ve been completely unaware and blind to all his bad deeds because he was hopelessly in love.

But anyway I’m transmasc so I think he should be too because those are the rules. Thoughts?

Aguefort Adventuring Academy Headcanons

Specifically how I think the school runs/how the day and classes are structured, etc. Kinda had this rattling around my skull for a few weeks now and wanted to put it on paper (or online in this case)

The school runs on an A-B day schedule with Mondays and Thursdays being A-days and Tuesdays and Fridays being B-days.

Wednesdays have mandatory attendance but are used as a general "study" day where you can go to specific professors for help or outdoor practice/field days for students to work on technique in the courtyard or any available space

Originally the school was open 7 days a week because Arthur Aguefort didn't know the meaning of boundaries or breaks when it came to the pursuit of knowledge (or really at all) and it wore out the students and professors

Goldenhoard later fixed this because he didn't want to deal with brats kids every day and fixed it with Tectonya Karkivnya behind Aguefort's back and he didn't notice for like five years

The day is 7ish hours with five 70-minute classes a day and an hour lunch where students are free to leave the school grounds to grab nearby food

Your first two years at aguefort have mandatory math/science/common (english)/history/foreign language classes you'd have to take at a standard school (added by Tectonya)

But then you have like, five class spots to fill relating to your "Class" (like Bard, Fighter, Wizard, etc) plus electives if you have the schedule space.

The math/science/core classes are all practical education they would need for building houses or needing to check the velocity for stunts or the angle of an arrow, stuff you actually need in day-to-day life

Tectonya needs these students to be functional members of society, they can't all be Arthur clones of mass destruction

Starting your junior year tho, you can take advanced core classes as electives but most of your time will be magical/practical experience for adventuring and elective classes

All teachers are Aguefort Allumni and former adventurers. Math teacher needs to have experience with those arrows and Biology teacher is a druid who's been teaching anatomy for years and enjoys it so much

The one exception is Gilear, who is literally the only "normal" guy at the damn school and is regularly at the nurse for a revivify because he accidently got slammed into a locker in the hall by a freshman barbarian having a shitty day

I know the intrepid heroes they/them-ing Kristen is out of habit talking to Ally. but I love the idea that the bad kids figure out that Kristen's nonbinary before they do.

like someone switches from plural they mid-sentence, and someone else hears it. and just assumes, yeah, Kristen came out but it's a busy year and I wasn't paying attention during that.

it happens more often and Kristen doesn't really catch on at first but she's pretty sure she never told them to do that? and huh, it is kinda nice actually, so they're not gonna make a fuss about it.

eventually Jawbone asks about changing her pronouns in the school's system, and she definitely never asked about that. over a very strange conversation, they all realize that Kristen never came out, but they're starting to think the bad kids are right about the pronouns.

and Kristen Applebees enters their senior year as Mx. President.

HEADCANONS ABOUT THE BAD KIDS

Kristen has Asthma. No doctors can figure out where it came from, because it's not genetic, but she remembers a dark forest, a temple, and a horn spearing through her lungs, and she just knows. She asks Cassandra to fix it, and Cassandra tells her that it cannot be done. She keeps an inhaler on her at all times, and when she breathes too deeply, she can still feel the horn piercing her.

Fig, through a combination of tiefling blood and her own decisions, sounds like somebody who's been smoking all their life. When she was younger, it just sounded like a raspy throat, but now that she's older, it's that sultry, sort-of attractive rasp. Ayda says that she sounds sick, and it takes a few minutes of explaining before Ayda understands. Fig always teases Ayda with her most sultry, raspy voice, and laughs when Ayda's hair poofs upwards.

Adaine tried pancakes for the first time when Kristen made them and now they're her favourite breakfast food. Her favourite toppings are whipped cream, fruit, and syrup. She doesn't say that every time she eats them, they trigger sensations of eating at a cold table with cruel people. She doesn't say that she sees a time where she will eat pancakes alone, and cry with the wish to eat them with Kristen again. She does not say a great many things.

Gorgug, through no fault of his parents, in almost unhealthily skinny. It's incredibly hard to find books on Orcish physiology, and Thelma and Digby tried their best to keep up, but it wasn't meeting the required amount of calories. Now that they know (Gorgug's bio dad gave them a book), they feed him much more, but he's always hungry. He feels bad for it, and sometimes even flat out refuses the food, feeling like it's a waste.

Fabian has dissociative episodes where he falls back into the fear that nobody remembers him. He sometimes can't even remember himself. He pretends to be fine, and then you're calling his name loud enough for the Hangvan to hear it outside and he doesn't respond. He sometimes slips into old habits of not being able to move from his bed, and when he does, all the Bad Kids visit him until he can get out. They never rush him, and sometimes it turns into a slumber party.

Riz has night terrors. When he does sleep, which is rare in and of itself, he wakes up. When it's a good night, without screaming. He'll wake up in a cold sweat, unable to move for minutes or hours, but he won't scream. When it's a bad night, he will wake up screaming loud enough to reach the lowest floor of Strongtower luxury apartments, and he won't know where he is. He has hurt his mom, and his friends, and when he comes out of the haze of pure fear with sobbing noises that sound like his heart is being ripped from his chest.
