hi sarah! a bit of a meta question for you, if you had the time and/interest: what is it about akk that you think aye fell in love with?

recently my friends and i were having a conversation about akkaye, and we realized it was super easy to identify what akk loves about aye (his passion, his caring/empathy, his rebelliousness, his looks etc. the list goes on and on) but we were having a harder time explicitly defining what it was about *akk* that aye fell in love with. maybe it's because we're in akk's pov for a majority of the show, so it's a lot easier to define what's going on in his head. like, when i see them together it just makes so much sense, but not quite sure how to put it into words?

so I thought i'd ask for your thoughts on it because you've written so many akkaye fics (and read the og book, even!) and i love your way with words. aye is so interesting to me (the best boy <3), maybe because the series isn't primarily in his pov so we're left guessing for a bit more of it. no pressure if you don' have the time, but i'd love to hear your thoughts!

Hiii! Oh, I love this question. Two of the reasons I remember Aye giving in the novel were that he finds Akk physically attractive and that he likes teasing him—which he also talks about in the show. But on a bit of a broader scale, I think he sees a lot of himself in Akk. And also a lot of Dika.

We didn’t get a whole lot of this in the series, but in the novel, Aye talks often about the guilt he feels over Dika’s death. He thinks that if he was paying more attention and had noticed the signs of his depression, he might have been able to stop him. To him, I think Akk is a second chance to get things right because in a lot of ways, Akk's going down the same path Dika did. I don’t think this is necessarily why Aye fell in love with him, but I do think it's why he was willing to overlook some of the, um, rougher aspects of Akk’s personality (i.e. his propensity for vehicular homicide.) So, in essence, I think his interest in Akk started out as a bit of a project.

This project, however, allowed them to actually get to know each other and that’s when the true feelings started to develop. I think Aye loves Akk’s smile and the fire he carries inside of him. He loves that he’s grumpy and willing to fight with him. He loves his passion and the way he cares about his friends. And I also think that he loves that they share this same brokenness—that they have been given this opportunity to heal together.

I agree that Aye’s feelings are a bit more of a mystery since we are primarily seeing things from Akk’s POV, but their relationship, to me, has always seemed to be very much a product of timing. They met each other at the exact right time to fall in love. If these exact same characters with these exact same histories had met in college instead, I think the physical attraction would still be there, but I worry that their personalities would clash too much to be able to find common ground. That’s probably why BoP, which is my only AkkAye fic where they meet outside of high school, starts with a one-night stand lol.

Our Skyy2, The Eclipse (episode 1) in a nutshell is a mixture of sweetness, goofy but with subtle nods to what can happen in new found relationships (and how 2 essentially different individuals need to find ways to compromise and communicate to grow as a couple)

I love the sweet scenes that Akk and Aye have together and despite some people criticism about how Aye is portrayed in the special episode (apparently some people find him dismissive to Akk in some scenes) - remember, these are 2 teenage boys who are proud and headstrong individuals (of course they are going to clash! And without teacher Dika and the Suppalo mystery to loom Aye down, I truly believe he is free to unleash his cheekier side even more, especially towards Akk, who he loves to tease - he said it himself, he finds pouty Akk attractive 🫣).

But what Aye needs to learn is to tone it down a little. Akk has always been more sensitive, a people pleaser, and still feels insecure in his newfound relationship. He still learning cues on how to read Aye (and vice versa). On the other hand, Aye in a round about way (he is not doing it too well), is asking Akk to be a bit more selfish and think about himself first, to put his own happiness as a priority (not just other people). On the plus side, how cute is Aye when he placates his sulking BF (and he clearly knows the way to Akk’s ♥️, who melts everytime Aye whisper sweet things to him)

I also feel this thing about Akk’s birthday - I have a feeling Aye is aware and he is deliberately ignoring it to surprise Akk (look I might be wrong lol, but I just can’t see Aye NOT remembering Akk’s bday).

I think Akk is one of those who probably prefers everything to be outlined to him clearly (otherwise his anxious mind that is so previously rigid before with rules can’t cope! But he also like quiet gestures like a simple dinner and just spending quality time with his BF i.e action speak louder than words (remember cowboy Akk said this to aye?).

Aye clocked on this early on, expressing his love to Akk (we can see this, by his cheesy romantic darling/cutie/“my place is in your heart gestures”)….and doing cutesy stuffs like the matching hoodie etc (Hence why I think he is planning this grand gesture for Akk bday, although Akk’s insecurity is rearing it’s head in this!)

Anyhow…I can’t wait for the second episode - people, we have a shower scene?!!!!!! (We were deprived of this in the original series, despite the original trailer having it!! - so to have them tonight, woohoo!)

(Look the other scenes in this episode - like the reenactment of the movie scenes and KanThua relationship I can give or take - but I appreciate them nevertheless!)

The Eclipse Ep 9 Stray Thoughts

Back to the slow burn romance due to homophobia in high school show. This is in competition with Takara-kun & Amagi-kun for Best Use of High School for the BL Summer '22 High School Extravaganza Awards Show.

Fuck Chadok so much, bro.

I am convinced Thua took the notebook originally.

Khaotung performing a panic attack is convincing. Good job to First with a very believable reaction.

Damn, and here I was hoping Ayan would that Dika was his uncle.

Requesting a sponge bath?? Oh, BL.

I half-expected Akk to find lube, condoms, and dildos in that drawer alongside the pills.

Man, the softness in Khaotung's voice when Ayan talked about how much he liked seeing Akk's family took me all the way back to Make The Yuletide Gay (2009) when Nathan lamented missing the way his mom used to talk to him. I'm not okay, y'all. Send some juice.

Ayan starts to feel just a little bit better and immediately resumes flirting.

Oh lord the return of the building code violation stairs. I need someone to die on those stairs in a drama.

It's such a relief to see Akk being mischievous when Ayan's mom asks about his life at school.

Ayan is not going to lose a trolling battle, of course. Akk is definitely dating someone.

I have no notes for this dinner. That was fun. BL is way more fun when the parents aren't homophobic and genuinely love their kids. I love watching parents troll their kids with pointed questions in front of their crushes.

I do like that the boys are diligent and clean the dishes after someone else cooks for them. And of course Ayan must flirt.

I say this often, but there is a special bond between gay boys and their moms. I'm glad she approves of Akk.

Again, I have no notes for this car conversation between Ayan's mom and Akk. She isn't meddling in their affairs beyond assuring Akk that she is grateful for his presence in her son's life. Her only request being that he not hurt himself takes me back to Until We Meet Again and Pharm's first meet with Dean's grandmother.

How deep does this go with Chadok?

I do love the way the World Remembers is toeing the line.

Wat's love of film being used against people must hurt him.

And now Namo has definitely decided to take initiative. I hope Nian is okay.

Ayan is launching a phishing attack. Amazing.

I do like that no matter what is going on, Ayan will choose to be a know-it-all and a flirt.

For once a sandwich is just a sandwich, and not product placement.

It's interesting in this conversation with Namo that the most common aspect of toxic masculinity resurfaces: the ability of any other man to question your manhood (or in this case, loyalty).

Thua is so careful that I ache sometimes. Leading Kan along with a series of innocuous inquiries before stating that he's fond of Bruce Wayne, and wants him to speak to him openly. He's even careful enough not to look at Kan's reactions because he already knows.

LOL did Kan really run to Ayan and tell him everything? I love how much Kan wants to come out that he's accelerating his reliance on Ayan.

Ayan asks a super romantic question, which allows Neo and Khaotung to show off that they can act with their eyes. Incredibly refreshing. I want more of them.

Ayan giving voice to how Kan feels, and his smile in response? My heart.

I love Ayan insisting that they're dating. First is also so funny with the way he plays Akk pout-eating.

Khaotung and First are a great pair. This wasabi sequence is a real treat.

I really hope we get to see a film from Wat at some point.

Why is First swimming like this?? Is he okay?? Baby boy, you gotta put that head in the water and stretch more. Don't bend your knees so much and keep those legs straight. Did they make him do this so we would see his face? This is a disaster!

Ayan is so right. Akk has such a nice face when he smiles.

The water they're in must be cold, and they must have been filming for a while. First is shivering. I noticed this in Minato's Laundromat too on Nishigaki Sho.

It's interesting that Akk has never once denied his attraction to Ayan. Even here his rejection of the kiss is location.

The underwater kiss still belongs to the gays!!!!! We stay winning!!!!

First can also act with his face.

Oh my next week looks like things still don't come to a head. Gah, where are we headed??

“I’m okay, now,” Aye says with a smile, bringing the drink to his lips, and that makes it worse.

The look on his face, the drink – they’re because of Akk. But Thua knows that Aye knows the reason he wasn’t okay earlier was Akk, too. It’s Akk who’s trying to get rid of Aye, Akk who has a direct line to Teacher Chadok, Akk who set the teachers on the path to targeting him.

Thua’s been trying to help – trying to answer for him, take the pressure off, and just now he was trying to comfort Aye.

Unnecessary comfort, because Akk got there first.

He doesn’t know how someone like Aye can let himself get taken in by a vending machine drink when he knows – he’s implied to Thua – they both know what Akk’s up to.

Aye did something to Thua that he didn’t like very much, making him tell his mae how he felt, and it did help Thua. It did.

Does Thua have the right to not do the same for him?

But he doesn’t know how to remind Aye of the danger, until he remembers.

The World Remembers kids, crying because Nong’s bag – expensive, designer, containing art supplies and probably protest materials too – had been stolen. Rumours that their assignments were going missing too.

It’s part of the “curse” thing, when people’s stuff starts to go missing, and Aye knows who the curse is.

He should take the hoodie – Akk’s been obsessive about it.

But Thua’s just not sure Aye wouldn’t find him taking that cute, if he thought it was Akk. Thua can only think of one other thing that might work.

It would be an awful thing to do.

Aye’s in danger from himself and from Akk, though, and this is a way out.

He takes the notebook.

…

Reading it was weakness and wrong in a way taking it wasn’t, he knows that.

Aye just keeps letting himself get taken in and Thua doesn’t get it, can’t get it when he’s being as cautious as he can about his own… situation. Kan finishes putting all the bags in the car and comes around it with a grin, and Thua’s own smile back is thin.

He can’t help smiling, it’s true, but it fades.

“No need to call,” Kan says, slapping Namo and Aye on the shoulders, “Akk’s parents are super chill, they’ll be fine with two more people.”

Thua hums in support – there’s no turning either of them away now.

And Kan’s eyes go to him, and Thua tries not to make that more than it is, because Kan’s still too afraid to do anything and that’s fine. He’s allowed to be afraid. It’s easier when Thua’s not alone, but he doesn’t need Kan to hold his hand.

In the car, he doesn’t ask Aye if he’s here to bother Akk, to press him or blackmail him into telling the truth; he also doesn’t ask if it’s about blushing over him and flirting with him in a way that isn’t meant as bothering.

He wouldn’t ask even if they were alone.

The answer would change things that Thua doesn’t want to change.

He also doesn’t ask Aye why he didn’t tell anyone Teacher Dika was dead, or his uncle, or that he’s here for revenge. That part’s more clear. Thua himself is reeling at the revelations of the notebook, but he can’t ask about them.

Even if he was right to take the notebook – he was, he knows that, but it clearly wasn’t enough, and he needs to find a way to remind Aye of who Akk really is – he was wrong to read it, so he can’t ask.

The answers he gets on the trip are to his other question, anyway.

On the beach, it’s easy to forget the big picture. Kan’s shirt is off, and he’s making jokes and running around and being handsy, but whenever Thua looks at Akk or Aye, they’re looking at each other, and that part isn’t easy to forget.

Fuck, Akk really does like him back – Akk’s been doing all of what he’s done like he’s exempt from it.

Thua’s spent years trying not to resent Akk and Wat for being the friends Kan’s actually willing to be friends with in public, but it seems like he shouldn’t have bothered. It would have been fair – there’s no difference at all.

Aye won’t do anything to Akk if he isn’t reminded, harshly.

He still feels bad about the notebook – okay, then he’ll give it back.

…

Akk isn’t the only person here lying about himself, of course, and Thua was stupid to let himself forget and hope, with the kiss.

You weren’t drunk, Thua wants to say. Not enough to black out.

Kan has reasons to be afraid, and he’s not a coward, but Thua’s tired of it all. It’s not a betrayal, they haven’t made promises – the only traitor is the one sitting next to Thua on the way back.

He has made promises.

To his uncle’s memory, Thua’s sure, but more importantly he knows that Aye has promised to help their juniors – Nun, Nian, Nong, they’re all counting on his promises, and Aye’s sitting here flirting with the person who tried to kill them. The person who��s going to keep trying until they stop.

Thua had hoped Aye would keep trying.

It’s fine if he’s wrong, he realises, about the number of traitors in this car. Maybe Thua’s one as well. He’s definitely a liar. But their juniors are braver than him and braver than Akk, and Kan, and they’re smarter than Aye.

He can’t let them get hurt, and Aye’s promised to stop it; he’ll see if he can remind Aye of the dangers.

Aye’s reaction to seeing the notebook again is fury and fear; it’s going to work, Thua thinks.

Thinks for just long enough to get them out of the room.

It’s fine that Akk drags Aye away, there’s no way he’ll be able to convince him that Teacher Chadok didn’t have the notebook and that Akk wasn’t the one to hand it in. Right?

He still feels bad to see Aye panicking over it.

Not bad enough to be glad to realise he’s taking Akk’s presence as a comfort. It didn’t work.

Aye isn’t going to do anything.

Thua doesn’t want it to have to be him, and maybe that makes him a coward, in the end. So he starts with some pictures and a story; it worked for Chadok.

It’s really interesting watching reaction channels and checking out some comments on social media about something you’re really enjoying. I start to wonder if I’m watching the same thing lol

I’m not saying they’re wrong or I’m right. My interpretations are mine, but wanted to ramble a bit after The Eclipse Series episode 11 and decided here was as good a place as any lol. I really should find myself some friends that watch BLs too :)

1. They thought Aye saw his uncle jump from the cliff - I assumed it was just a nightmare/scenario Aye had created. He was always presented as present Aye with his hairstyle and the fact he was wearing the necklace, which he would have received after the fact.

2. Teacher Sani and the picture. How? - well she took over from Dika so I just assumed she found it amongst anything he left behind as seems she took over his desk. Looked like she took it from the pages of (what I can only guess was Dika’s) student welfare manual, and if he and Chaddok were strained he probably didn’t care what got left behind.

3. But Thua was bullied so he should know better - don’t get me wrong outing someone is bad and would never agree to his actions, but people saying he’s been bullied so why would he do it… pretty sure in part his bullying is because of the rules and ‘curse’ both of which Akk has been supporting until recently, so if I was Thua and saw Akk frolicking in a pool with his boyfriend while (at that scene’s point in time at least) Kan had spent years?? pushing him away and even though they’d got close again he was hiding behind Bruce Wayne, so yeah I’d probably not prioritise how Akk might get treated when revealing everything either. Again, I don’t agree with what he did, but he’s a 17/18 year old kid making a knee jerk reaction to the situation, provoked by Aye trying to shut him down and protect Akk.

4. Why did Thua choose now? - Akk just got the best boy award, Aye was clearly supporting him. Then outside, the protesters show up and suddenly Aye is calling out in their favour. I get why Thua did it and had had enough and spoke out. As I said before I don’t agree to everything (ie the outing) but get why he did it. He was calling out Aye, the fact his love (and likely unknown to Thua, Akk’s mental state) had meant Aye no longer tried to get Akk to tell the truth and instead was encouraging him during the ceremony. Aye had presented himself as someone who would expose the curse, had in some ways pushed Thua from his neutral place, the ‘curse’ might not have been active but it and the rules remained in the background. At that point, Kan still wanted them to be a secret, maybe Thua thought his step dad would have been less ‘rough’ if not for his experience of the curse, after the doll incident I felt like he was shaken because any faith he had had left in the system, the teachers enacting justice, protecting their students was extinguished. So Aye was in love, the protesters being manhandled, he probably saw himself as the only option for the truth to come out.

5. A missing scene? Was there a time jump? The group made up really fast - I agree to some extent about the fast turn around but I personally didn’t have an issue with it or get confused thinking I missed something. They did talk and get everything out in the open and from what we know from an earlier episode, or at least Akk, Wat and Kan, the group resolves conflict the same day, doesn’t let it fester. Thua said he’d accept whatever Kan felt he should do about him. Not going to lie, I wouldn’t have minded a ‘sorry’ in Thua’s explanation… ‘sorry I did it but I did what I believed was right’… after that Thua went home as his mum was waiting so I assumed it was the end of the school day. Skip to the next day, or maybe it was a couple, and the short film discussion. I went with the idea that this was Thua’s apology, he’d help them which would help in particular keep Kan (and Wat) being exposed as liars, and also help back track the outing of Akk and Aye (any investigation into Akk and the cause of the curse I presume will be revealed next week - this is solely about covering for Wat and Kan and making the film).

6. Kan and Thua being cute - now these two… personally, I don’t know if I could be as forgiving as Kan but a) he loves Thua, and has finally been able to be brave and say it - love is a crazy thing, b) if he can forgive Akk’s actions, he can forgive Thua’s, c) Thua is helping with the film and to cover for them so making amends that way, d) Kan’s part of a friends group that resolves conflict quickly, e) maybe he has his own guilt as he believed in the curse, and he had kept Thua at a distance for so long. Maybe he felt bad he didn’t notice what was going on with the curse or Thua. That last bit is just me maybe-ing but whatever the reason they stay together, move on, and he takes another brave step forward, and I’m happy for him.

Ahhh that’s better. Just wanted to ramble out what I’d been thinking. Nobody might ever see this but phew, feels good. (Watch next episode tell me everything at the end of this episode was a dream and everybody actually hates each other and everybody is crying buckets!!!)

I feel like they might be dragging the whole kissbaiting thing out just so ayeakk can have more 'firsts' if that make sense and try and maintain hype for the eclipse?? them having their first kiss, first real kiss, first real and mutually reciprocated kiss, etc etc LOL. At least that's what I hope :'( doesn't seem like it'll be next week based on the preview so maybe by episode 10...

yes I thought about that too anon.

I think I still have to get adjusted to the extreme slowburn because I'm not really used to that anymore djkgffgh.

But I appreciate what they're doing bc as I said, it makes sense. and you're right, they're definitely the type of couple to take smaller steps than others. They've had their little milestones and I hope they'll have some more, however with everything that's going on like everyone still being in the dark about the whole Dika thing, paired with Akk still clinging onto that curse etc. and also judging from the preview, I think it's gonna take another while for him to fully commit.

And as I said in my previous ask, I really hope Aye will tone it down a bit. Not that he's pushy but imma need him to put the flirting on hold for a bit dsjkhg. give your mans some space.

They're wearing colors

As we all know, I'm crazy about color theory even though I rarely mention it to be honest. But I can't shut up when I see characters wearing colors that mirror their emotional state.

In the last three minutes of "the eclipse" episode 6, Ayan has a nightmare or more likely remembers a very sensitive memory in his sleep. It's the day he watched his beloved uncle jump off a cliff. This scene is horrible and I think nobody wants to be in Ayan's feet...

However, if we wouldn't know Dika is about to kill himself, it kind of looks like there are just two people talking surrounded by nature. I know, it's very close to the edge of the cliff but still, it doesn't look too unnatural. Nevertheless, the show gives the intentions of the characters right away with the way they are dressed and chose a certain camera angle.

Dika is wearing brown pants and most importantly a white linen shirt. The shirt doesn't cling to his body, it's too big - in a fashionable way -and somehow looks like a gown thrown over him. I know it's a stretch but judging from the few paintings I have seen showing Jesus or dressed angels, they were always wearing white linen clothes and Dika's shirt is pretty similar to those. That plus the very white sky behind him, letting his white clothes blend into the clouds are the hints: he will fade into heaven soon.

Ayan on the other hand is dressed in black. Everything from his styled hair to his shoes is black. His posture is not straight, his shoulders fall down like there's a weight on him. He already knows what Dika is about to do, he knows what he had planned, so he already dressed in black. Black is the color of grief after all, so we know he is already devastated and that state won't change any time soon. He stands in front of death which is represented through the color white whilst he is on the other side, the side of the living, grieving in the color black. But wait, there's more because Ayan is not grieving yet, Dika still lives and Ayan is there to save him. His closeups show the green meadow behind him because Ayan still has hope. He hopes so much, he begs Dika not to die and he ran there hoping he wouldn't be too late. So all Ayan has in this moment is hope thus the background is green.

I could also dig a little bit deeper into the fact the sea has such a deep color, it seems to swallow lost souls to let them find their peace BUT I only wanted to talk about their clothes. I was so happy when I saw that and I truly can't wait until tomorrow lol

Ok so I have been reading various fanfictions for AkkAyan and I noticed a thing I didn't notice wile watching the episodes, and that thing is that how Akk acts at the beginning of the show when he follows Ayan allover convinced he has some sort of plan to take down the school(wich in retrospect was true lol) made think back on how Harry follows Draco in book 6/year 6 cuz he is convinced as well that the blonde is up to no good(again he was correct as well lol) and this similarity has kinda messed up my brain lol, cuz if you look at it it does feel very similar even if their personalities are all different and the stakes are different, and this 2(Akk and Aye) start basically as enemies with one being the rule abaider teachers pet all about keeping the reputation and the other is the rebel that has a personal agenda against the school and helps the protesting students but they also have a charged tension amd an attraction that bring both to develope feelings so it just made think of H and D both in canon and in the fanfictions that I read.

this also made me want a The Eclipse Hogwarts au(wich there are none in ao3) btw if you wanna know this is my hc for the characters and what house I think they would go in:

Akk and Aye: Slitherin both very goal oriented leaders both a bit cunning

Khan: Hufflepuff it fits boy is the most loyal friend

Wat: Revenclaw curious and openminded love to discover new films and make his own he is a raven for sure

Thua: Griffindor this bitch got some balls to do what he did also he isn't that ambitious, he is smart but inteligence isn't the only factor for a Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff I though of putting him here but my puffs are hardworking loyal friends and he isn't not anymore so the only one are the lions

Namo: Griffindor(I know he wants to ba prefect but this boy is way too dumb to be a cunning ambitious slitherin so in to the griffs)

Jamnan: Slitherin leader and the start of the rebellion

Jamnong: Hufflepuff sweet soft and loyal

Okay, so at the Eclipse book talk with First and Khaotung, they’re talking about the fact that Ayan has a tattoo and how Khaotung was asked if he had any before he got the role.

He explains: I said yes. One right here and another one here that everyone sees in the series.

First points out: Everyone sees the one on the thigh.

Then motions to where’s Khao’s thigh tattoo is, Khaotung doing the same.

The significance of Ayan giving Akk the necklace isn’t as dark as I think some people are making it out to be, Dika never gave the necklace to Ayan, it was with Dika’s personal belongings that they got from the ME when identifying his body, which you see in the first episode.

Dika used the necklace as a sort of worry stone, he gripped it when he needed to ground himself, when his anxiety and stress level got too high, when his depression dragged him too low. As he explained to Ayan in a flashback, he held it when he needed to reconnect to who he truly was. Ayan started to wear the necklace after Dika died as a connection to him, he held the necklace during his panic attacks after his nightmares, because in his nightmares he saw his uncle die. It was the only thing that grounded him to his uncle, that last physical piece of him. Ayan is depressed, he’s on medication but unlike Akk, he has a support system.

Akk feels alone, is full of self-loathing, cannot connect to who he truly is and who Chadok makes him be, much like Dika. Ayan giving Akk the necklace isn’t a ‘goodbye’ or a dark hint at what’s to come for Ayan. It’s Ayan giving Akk the one thing that might be able to save him, because he can see Dika in Akk. They’re fighting similar battles, Akk is disconnected, alone, depressed, scared. He’s giving Akk something to ground him, something that lets him know that he’s bigger than his own disjointed thoughts. It’s a connection, to Ayan, to Dika. It a claim, a declaration. It tells Akk that no matter where he is, all he has to do is reach up and touch it to remember he’s not alone anymore because he’s more than just Ayan’s boyfriend, he’s family.

I love that Dean is such a romantic that he’s already clocked that Team is different for Win, that he’s not like Win’s usual hookups which is why Dean’s allowing it to happen even though as club president he really shouldn’t. Also he’s the only person that can make Win whine like a child lol, I love that for him.

The Eclipse Ep 6 Live Blogging

I have class from 10:10-11 while this show goes on from 9:40-10:40 so... is it better to just watch it all at 11 or start at 9:40, watch part 1 and maybe 2, then watch other parts at 11? Agh, why couldn’t this show be at 9 or my class at 11 T.T I need this show in my brain as soon as it releases

Okay, I didn’t start watching it as it premiered, so am now watching the whole thing after my class ended (which ended 10 minutes later than scheduled </3). thankfully I’ve avoided spoilers so far hoho (except someone saying “wow they really turned the prefects club into a cult” so... that’s giving me some thoughts and someone else saying they were shaking while watching pt 4 lol)

Someone on MDL brought it up last week that in that scene 1) Akk was the first one to shout to move, how did he know when he’d just come onto the scene? 2) Maybe Akk chased Ayan because he thought Ayan knew. I’ll keep this in mind when I decide to rewatch the episodes ig

I do love it when they show the fact that Akk’s doing what he’s doing not just because he loves the school but because of self-serving reasons as well, whether it be that he wants the college scholarship like he admitted in ep 5 or that he doesn’t want Suppalo’s reputation to be ruined while he’s the head of the prefects. + the “You maintain peace and goodness by doing all those shitty things, Akk?”

He says he doesn’t wanna hurt anybody, that’s why I was so hoping that he didn’t do the flower pot + car stints because those can certainly hurt someone

the direction of the conversation is slightly confusing to me like it’s adjacent to what needs to be said but now exactly? or maybe it is... the way to get through to Akk doing bad things selfishly is to reassure him that he doesn’t need to do all that instead of just saying why the fuck are you doing all that dumbass? Also, I guess Ayan already knew Akk was doing bad shit and liked him still, so he cares more about Akk than his deeds and wants to show that.

Okay, this conversation about Chadok and Ayan questioning him is what I thought would happen before the reassurance and caring stuff but I guess it was like “Ayan questioning him” -> “Ayan reassuring him just to show that he cares and also to let Akk know he can talk to him” -> “Ayan questioning him again”

I’m fine with teacher/student romances when I’m watching a show with like no damn morality but this one where we’re very concerned with people in power and how they use it, I hope they don’t go there and if they do, I wonder how they’d handle it. Although... I wonder if she isn’t just using Wat at this point to just more info on his group/Akk and perhaps Chadok in a roundabout way.

Thua has some meddling ass friends lmfao first Ayan telling his mom that Thua keeps things to himself + Kan’s audacity right here saying “If he does anything, tell me and I’ll deal with him” right in front of Thua’s stepdad like won’t that just make it worse for Thua?

I’m so confused by this stepdad “if he’s your faen, admit it. we’re in a new age now. how’s school?” seems like something caring people would say but I guess it’s a way to make Thua lower his guards OR that he’s an alright dude most of the time but gets really angry really quickly and that’s when he’s abusive

a flashback to Kan and Thua before their falling out? Hal said that in the special ep, they said the two used to be friends before before Kan started avoiding Thua and has only just started getting close to him again

in the thumbnail, Ayan has his hand around Akk’s head too while in bed, so that’s good because the teaser from last week was like “ooh Akk’s going in for the kiss while Ayan’s asleep”

Ayan’s so funny, just getting into bed with Akk with a smile. this whole bed sharing scene is sooo bl, so cute.

I’m too nervous to continue watching ahh like 5 mins left

Aw, Ayan’s nightmare again :( Also the first time we saw it, we didn’t know much about the necklace but now we know for sure that it’s like current day Ayan with his necklace have a nightmare that he was there with Dika but couldn’t stop him

I heard a kiss sound but also could see Ayan’s uncovered lips, so cheek kiss?

okayy several kisses and cuddling afterwards. I liked the silence no bg-music kiss (tho ngl the heavy breathing after the kiss threw me off cuz I was like um??? but it was just Ayan getting a hold of himself I think). I also like that it’s a soft, comforting kiss; their chemistry and dynamic means that you kind of expect like an explosive kiss and I really hope we do get one later but their first ones being kinda unsure before going in again and being comforting is so good

I guess I won’t watch the preview but I suspect I’ll be spoiled about it anyway.

Overall Episode Thoughts:

short episodes but we get to see everything: curse stuff, akk and ayan romantic and platonic progressions, akk character development, wat and teacher sani, kan and thua. even got glimpses of The World Remembers kids (and glad to know they’re liked and having fun outside of school), no prefect trio scenes but got Wat talking about them + kan and wat convo, got a glimpse of Chadok, no progress on the uncle but we saw him in the nightmare again, also spent time searching for the notebook even if we didn’t find it.

Really enjoyed it, the show keeps getting better and better. I love how much things have started making sense retroactively now that we know that Akk is the curse and Ayan knew it too. This makes me hopeful that they’ll continue have a comprehensible and fun plot and reveals, as well as land the ending hopefully

Fave Scene:

The first and last scenes I think. I thought the production of the show thus far has been alright but not impressive but I loved how the first scene and the last scene were shot and edited a lot.

The way the present and past scenes were weaved together was so good, connected by the fire but Akk’s expression as he’s initiated surrounded by people, including ones he adores vs his expression as he is about to set fire to the effigy really impacted me right at the start of the episode.

For the last scene, I was surprised by this show which is obsessed with dramatic background music chose for it be silent. I think it was a very good choice, made me anticipate the characters’ reactions more and also portrayed the “they’re the only ones here” vibe well.

+ Khao’s laughter in that beachside food scene when the servers asked if they’re a ship or real

Curse Culprit Suspects (Or the Notebook Thief):

Well, seems like Akk is the only Curse Culprit.

I actually don’t know how the Notebook Thief is other than people saying they didn’t see Kan or Thua in the scene.

Also, I wonder when Namo’s gonna make an impact. Is he scheming something or is he just a red herring and he’s gonna be helpful in the end somehow? Or maybe turn against the students in the end but isn’t against them right now.
