Fandom‧˚。゚・° 。✎ Legend of Zelda (linked universe)
Pairing‧˚。゚・° 。✎ Yandere!Platonic!Linked universe x Deku shrub!Reader
Word count‧˚。゚・° 。✎ 3605
Summery‧˚。゚・° 。✎ This is for a request I got that I got really into and wrote a mini chapter to. The reader is a deku shrub that was caught in a fight between the Links and Dink and they group took you in.
Misc‧˚。゚・° 。✎ Yandere behavior, the ending might be a little rushed, lots of dialogue, the group adopts the reader into the group, written for the boys perspective.
“Formations!” Warrior yelled. He had spent a lot of time on the battlefield yelling to be heard over the chaos. It was something he was good at. His voice rang loud and clear as the group looked around quickly moving to the spots they were supposed to hold if they ever got into a fight. It was practised and they all knew what to do and how to hold their own square. This was not the first time they ran into an ambush. Wouldn't be the last either.
This time the strange portal dropped them on a forest path. The whole group made it through and they were trying to catch their surroundings. Going through a portal always left you feeling disoriented. Time looked around. The area here felt like something. Something close to home. There was this sense of familiarity that held him at bay as he looked at Warrior for confirmation.
The young man was staring at the shadow. The demented creature stood across the way in plain sight between two trees. He wasn't even trying to hide. He stood waiting holding Time’s friend in a stare. It was tempting Warrior. Trying to draw him out so the enemies hidden near it could strike. Looking more closely, Time could see a tail move and he could hear some branches snap under the weight of another enemy. There were at least two lizalfos waiting in hiding so they could strike once someone rushed forward. Time could see them and Warrior must have as well. Or else he would have run after it already.
“There's three over here.” Traveller called. His voice was quiet compared to the commanders yell that it was hard for Time to catch it. He was using his regular speaking voice. Tenuous and tight he didn't need to yell to be heard. but so was everyone else. Not even insects chirped. It was just them. All the birds must have fled at the sight of the monsters who were waiting for who knows how long.
“Five!” Sky yelled. He was the closest to Time standing to his right. He turned to see what was there. These monsters stood not even trying to hide. They looked like the Lizalfos but bigger with thicker hide. They were better armed and had more armour that covered thick muscles. Taller and more heavy in muscle. Less like lizards and more closely resembling dragons. Time swore under his breath. He knew where they were. They were certainly in his hyrule. Those were dinolfos.
“I have a few over here.” Wind called. His voice was unsteady like it always was when a fight picked up. He had the same issue when he was younger. The nerves pick up and it always shows. “I can't count how many. They’re hiding behind the trees!”
“We’re in my Hyrule. I don't know where, so stick close.” Time said. Voice low and calm. This wasn't the worst trap they'd walked into. The Shadow must be running out of henchmen. Time couldn't see any enemies on his side. Just some the Shadow and goons on one side and the five Sky called on the other. He would have to choose who to go to in battle.
He knew he should help Sky. He wouldn't though. The shadow couldn't get away again, and he knew Warrior would rush headfirst into a fight with it. That idiot was just asking to be separated from the group and cornered. He knew it too, he just didn't care. Too headstrong and confident he was certain that he would be the one to kill the shadow. The shadow had been unashamed in ignoring all the others and only going after one of them at a time. It wanted to only kill one rather than fighting everyone.
Time turned around to face where Legend and Hyrule were. Legend held his fire rod in one hand and a sword in the other while Hyrule had his shield up and was waiting for the first shot. No one had moved from their positions yet and the forest was filled with the air of unsung battle. There was no easy way out of this.
He didn't know where he was in his Hyrule. They could be anywhere really. He couldn't give them a good spot to retreat to if things went wrong. Which was good. He wasn't in a running mood. The shadow had gotten away too many times. The group had to land a blow or else they would all go crazy.
It was the shadow who made the first move. It tried to disappear into the forest. Warrior broke formation and started to chase after it. Twilight closed the gap and Time moved to fill in the extra space. An arrow whizzed by his face as he moved. The shot missed and landed in the bushes nearby. The monsters popped out of hiding and attacked as the shadow fled. One of the two monsters rushed out with a spear and chased after Warrior.
He wanted to go after the blonde haired bastard but he couldn't leave the rancher open to any enemies on his flank. Plus a two on one was never pretty. He helped level the playing field. Raising his sword high with two hands he struck an unsuspecting lizalfos who wasn't paying attention. The blow took it in a downward swing where the neck met the shoulder. Pulling the blade free the monster lept back and hissed. Twilight pulled out his grappling hook and swung it forward. Pulling the beast back into range.
Time put the finishing blow on the injured enemy as Wild filled the other up with arrows. It took too many shots to take down one of these beasts but whatever got the job done. Time rushed forward in pursuit of the shadow and Warrior. They both disappeared over a hill. Once at the top of the hill however he stopped. Below him was the very man he was hellbent on giving a good talk to. Time made his way down the hill- careful to not trip or fall down in his heavy armour.
There was more fighting behind him but the group could fend for themselves. They had the right skills needed. Warrior was just standing there staring down at his feet. No one else was around and the shadow was gone. Time went to his side and waved expecting an explanation. “Got it?”
“Check.” The captain was a man of few words when it was time to fight. A habit that was annoying if you wanted long answers but good for a soldier.
“Can I assume it’s dead?” His voice was gruff. A response to the weeks he'd spent travelling on harsh roads. It was clear that everyone wanted to get to the bottom of this but everytime they got close to an answer it was ripped from them.
“No. It jumped away and left-” Warrior waved his hands at the ground at his feet. He hadn't looked away yet. There was a flower on the ground. A twig that held a bundle of delicate blue and white flowers. The mixture of the two separate flowers looked wonderful as their stalks intertwined and grew into each other. A rare spectacle. It looked a little strange to be here. Plants didn't grow like that and Time could feel that something was amiss. “-this thing here.”
“A flower?” A sound, not unlike that you would hear from a fairy, came from the ground. A bush-like creature jumped out from under the dirt. Not even leaving a hole. A spirit of the earth and nature looked up at him with two beady eyes. A creature he hadn't seen since he was a kid. He had been turned into one by the skull kid when he chased his friend through the forest that first time.
Time vividly remembers the deku shrub that told him of his destiny. Of how he wasn't really one of the kokiri, the forest children, how he was really left there by his mother who died escaping the war. A flood of sadness was met with the warmth of seeing an old friend. They stood only a foot tall and had an eternal smile on their face. One of the literal children of the forest.
All forest spirits were family to him. He grew up around them and considered himself one for the better part of his childhood. Time knelt on the ground. Even now he was too tall to meet the creature's eyes. You were so small you couldn't have been more than a few years old. There weren't many shrubs left. Even now they are in decline. The number was fading fast and here you were! There were sounds of fighting up the hill and Time turned around to check.
“They’ll need help, I’ll stay here to look after the herb.” Time said.
“I'll stay here in case it comes back.” Warrior barked back. He really didn't want the shadow to get away again. It was a case of two well matched soldiers making it a challenge to show off. However the shadow seemed to be falling for the bait less and less. No matter how much ground they made it never seemed to be enough. They were always too far behind and could never catch up. All the ground they made was quickly swallowed by the knowledge that they had no clue what was going on. They were stuck chasing the tail of a beast they've never seen the head to.
“If I leave you alone the shadow will double back around and ambush our only member standing alone. Besides,” Time smiled down at you and rubbed your head. You squealed and hid back down in the dirt.  “they're too adorable to leave alone.”
“You're not going back up the ridge to help?”
“They can handle themselves.”
“So can I.” Warrior looked down at you and was hard pressed to keep a stern expression on his face. You were cute for a little shrub monster. The racket you made when Dink came nearby struck a chord in him. He knew you were not dangerous but he couldn't figure out what you were. “I can stand guard here and make sure this one doesn't flank us.”
“Don't call them that.” Time frowned.
“Why’s that?” It was possible that the captain had never seen a deku shrub or young deku tree. He talked about fighting in one with Lana and others but that one was decades old and had already grown to be bigger than a house.
“They're a deku shrub. They wouldn't even hurt a fly.” you could hurt a fly but the expression still stood. You were a staple of the forest and a guardian of the master sword. You could hardly go around killing things. It just wasn't in your nature. You were too young to leave alone, you were only a baby! The group would have to take you with them so none of the monsters would hurt you.
. . .
“Back home doesn't have a deku tree. We would benefit from one.” Hyrule commented. He thought back to home. He knew that his Hyrule was in decline but ever since he saved Zelda and reawakened the triforce things have been getting better. If they got a deku tree there would be one to watch over the master sword and the forests. “There's a lot of areas untouched by people they can call home. I know the forest people and fairies would rather enjoy their company.”
He could see you running around with his sisters. Playing by the fairy fountain and both learning from and protecting them in years to come. He could cosy up underneath a tree with you. Talk and spend his time teaching you. You'll grow with age and with that will come wisdom but until you're older you'll need lessons. He could teach you along with his sisters when they went back home.
“They might be too young. I dont think theyll be grown enough to turn into a deku tree for a long time.” Sky commented. He was not done feathering the unfortunate plant. They practically had to be wrestled from his arms when they put you down. He looked to be the most attached front he started. Cooing at you and trying to water you to help the plant on your head. He had even asked Fi if she knew anything about the spirits on the ground. He was not one to shy away about how he thought the group had to be careful. You were to stay with them until the group decided what was best for you.
The issue with that was- was that none of them knew what was best. They could go and ask a deku tree but that would involve leaving their defensive post. If the shadow wasn't being chased they'd just run off and the trail would grow cold. If they sent someone off on their own to ask the tree it was possible the shadow would attack; and if the shadow went through another portal the group would follow. Leaving their other members stranded with no prospects of coming back. This was starting to become a heated topic.
“Their home is in the kokiri forest. I know the tree there and that is where they should stay.” Time said. His tone was not stern just matter of fact and it drove Warrior to no end.
“You know what I think-” Warrior started. He hadn’t let the old man rest all day. The subject was a sore spot and no one in the group could tell why. Time had not moved from his morally superior spot of this being his Hyrule. Which meant it was his great deku shrub. Warrior had been the one to find it. He had been to the great deku tree in his time and it was huge trees that rivalled the sky for height as far as the eye could see. You might enjoy it there and they wouldn't know unless they took you with them.
“Time is right about one thing.” Wild interrupted. Not caring or noticing that Warrior was about to say something. Warrior was going to be mature about this. “This is their Hyrule, we should be keeping them here.” Twilight nodded but looked over to the shrub. You poked your head up and made a gleeful sound before ducking back under. Showing yourself just to calm the nerves of the group before ducking away into the cold earth. You were regarded as adorable that's for sure, still young as they could all tell, but how you seemed to just captivate the group was a mystery.
“We had a deku tree back home. It wasn't big though. I don't know how old but nothing too special.” Wind said. He had been confused as to why everyone was freaking out. You would be travelling with them regardless. That was for certain. It was all just a matter of Time. they were seeing how long it would take for them to argue for argument's sake. Wind wanted to roll his eyes but he knew that this was simply how the group figured things out. They were adults and they just couldn't wait to see what would happen.
“They're all special. A great deku tree isn't born everyday.” Time corrected Wind and it was the first time his voice softened since they sat down. He was always gentle with the kid. More gentle than he was with the adults.
“If we leave them by themselves they will have to learn on their own. It might help to keep them with their kin so they can learn more.” Four siad. He had been quiet the whole time. He didn't care to add to the bickering. He was more happy watching from the sidelines and seeing what the group siad. Vio was right though. You might get lonely or worse, you might be missing crucial information on how to do… whatever it was the deku trees did. Four didn't know and he was convinced the rest of the group didn't either. He would bring it up later. Adding more fuel to the fire wouldn't help.
“I think-” Warrior began again only to be cut off by Sky.
“We can’t find anything in common here, we might as well just keep them.”
“Keeping them here is the only good response!” Wild yelled. The group erupted into chaos. The debate of what to do and the whole debacle of having a spirit of not so inconsiderable power was something else. You weren't anything special now but in years to come you could grow into a great deku tree. One who watched over the sanctum of the master sword and helped guide the forest people. Right now you were too small and mischievous to do anything of the sort but you would mature with age.
Leaving you be, taking you with them, having you stay in a different Hyrule… There was no good answer to the dilemma. They couldn't just keep you with no plan especially not if it caused a rift in the group. They had to settle this. Even if they did take you with them, how long could you stay? How would you respond to life on the road? There would be times that they would have to travel on mountains and through feet of snow. Would you try to involve yourself in their quest? You were a variable they knew next to nothing about but you couldn't just leave. Not after just walking into their life like this.
The group didn't settle the debate. They more came to the mutual conclusion that they can always come back and leave you here if they decide otherwise. They can keep you with them until the time to drop you off somewhere comes up. As a deku tree part of your job would be to guard the master sword and keep an eye over it. Sky had Fi with him and bening by her side might be why you're where. Sky picked you up and cradled you in his arms. Explaining that you showing up here must be because you sensed the sword and wanted to start your duties of watching over her. Keeping you here with her until you decide to leave was the best way to appease everyone. You would leave when the time was right and they could take you anywhere you wanted to be afterwards.
Time had clung to you immediately. He had decided that you were his. He was raised by a great deku tree and has met with several sprouts before. They were always so sweet. His first thought is to bring you home to Malon. He does do this and the plan from the start has been to help raise you. You're great with plants and Malon just eats you up. She is so happy to watch you run around and help out in the garden. Everyone is glad to have you around but Time is especially attached. Due to how he was raised he is happy to welcome a deku sprout to his family.
Warrior is so happy to see Time talk to you so much. It brings out a younger side to Time and he can see how good you are for everyone. As much as he enjoys seeing Time talk to you it takes Warrior time to regain his young spirit again as well. He missed all the work he put into his adventure. Meeting you was a sweet surprise. You're a ray of sunshine that brings out the best in the group.
He would love to leave the group and hide you away in his Hyrule so he can make sure you grow up where he can keep an eye on you but he knows that he would be caught at this point. So for now Warrior sticks to being a good parental figure. Wasting no time chastising the members of the group when they act out of line. Like when Four picked you up and threw you. Fun for you, but uncalled for.
Twilight is obviously so eager to learn more about deku trees because there wasn't one in his time. Tiem had talked about it as if it was interesting but he said Ganondorf had poisoned the deku tree and they all died out as a response. Twilight doesn't want to leave you here if that's the case. He would much rather take you to the farm. You'd like the goats and the plants and the villagers would be kind to you. He's happy to help teach you and has taken over the role of teaching you your numbers and letters with the help of Wind. you'll need to learn at some point.
Wild is super excited to learn about the life cycle of the trees and can't wait to see how you'll grow up!! Just how big will you get? Are you like the Koroks? He takes you to see Hestu and will show you the others he comes across. He’ll solve several puzzles for you. Seeing you dance with Hestu when he does his upgrades makes him so happy, he thinks it's so cute to see you all interact. The flower you have on the top of his head reminds him of the korok puzzles where he has to chase down the flower to finish the puzzle. He has grabbed it at several points only to be chastised by the others.

A Little Too Not Over You
💕Too💕
🌻A/N- Second part to A Little Too Not Over You-
My apologies for being late on posting this to anyone who followed the first part. As always thanks for reading my work! 🌻
"Imagine my surprise when out shoots a whirling dervish of fire! It was horrifying!" Link lifted his shoulders and dropped them, demonstrating a shiver.
You refrained from laughing. Your mouth was already parched from the hours of talking you had endured. You pressed your finger against it, feeling the presence of flaked skin on your lips, reminding you just how thirsty you were. But the longer you spent time with Link, the more you remembered him, and goddesses, he was funny.
You caved in and began to laugh.
"What?" He asked defensively. "Go ahead and try to convince me that if some crazy whirling flame dancer jumped out at you, you wouldn't be afraid." He folded his arms, waiting for your response.
You wiped a tear away and attempted to collect yourself. "Link, you used to drop your sling shot when a Deku shrub jumped out from the ground."
"I don't do jump scares well!"
"But wasn't the boss of the fire temple a dragon that popped out of the ground through different crevices?"
Link imitated a shudder once again. "Please, don't remind me."
You reached for a glass of water, chuckling at his dramatic theatrics. You and Link had both settled on a nice little tavern tucked away in the far eastern corner of Castle Town. It was hard to stay mad at him. He had a way of unraveling you through conversation, and with each story came the passing of an hour and then another. It was now close to one a.m.
"I can't believe we stayed up so late just talking."
Link's eyes flickered at your empty hand resting on top of the table. "I can."
Every now and then, Link would stop midsentence and stare at you, losing his train of thought. You can't say that you found it odd when you yourself became so immersed in the man sitting across from you that your brain seemed to nullify any further thoughts.
Link folded his arms behind his head and leaned back in his chair. "Hopefully your husband won't mind you being out this late."
You rolled your eyes as you caught his not-so-subtle glare at your hands once again.
"I'm not married."
"Alright, then your boyfriend."
"Nope."
"Girlfriend?"
"Link."
"Lover?"
"Link!" You reached across the table and swatted him. "You can't just waltz back into my life and ask about my relationship status. What does it matter to you anyway?"
He leaned forward with a small thump as his chair legs plopped back down onto the wooden floor. He locked his eyes on yours. "I know I can't, but I guess I just didn't want to feel foolish for when-"
"Excuse me?"
A woman with stringy blonde hair weaved in a neat braid walked toward your table. She clasped her hands together in a way that made her appear wholesome beneath the muted lighting of the tavern.
"Are you Link?"
Link straightened up his spine and responded to her question with a curt nod.
"The hero..." her voice transformed into breathy, fluttering spurts of sound. You knew instantly what she was doing. She stood up straight, miming Link's posture so that her breasts would be eye level with him.
"May I trouble you for an autograph?" Her lashes danced up and down as she leered at him.
You stifled a snicker. Link took the woman's quill and scroll; her fingers lingered on the back of his hand, causing him to become flustered.
"Um, what is your name?" He asked, trying not to goad her on with eye contact.
A caterwauling sound cut through the woman's reply. "ECK! IT IS HIM!"
Three more females flocked around the table like hungry calves, ready to feed off a teat. You remained outwardly stolid, but inside, the hurt of the past was threatening to make itself known. You shifted in your seat, keeping your expression indifferent to the buzzing cadre of female admirers surrounding Link.
That was until a clapping sound erupted from behind you. "What in tarnation? Link? Well now, I gotta tell Malon you done come back home!" You felt a tangled clump of chest hair tickle against the nape of your neck as Talon leaned over the back of your chair to observe Link. His booming announcement of Link's presence drew in more onlookers and fanatics.
As hordes of people began to crowd around the table, you pushed your chair out with an angry jab, the legs screeching across the floor, announcing your breaking point. Your chair hit Talon in the gut, causing him to erupt in a howl. "YESH! WHAT'S YER PROBLEM?" You stomped outside and into the brisk night air.
You made your way down a small alley, spotting an abandoned milk crate to sit on. Your eyes began to bubble with a fresh serving of tears. Tears that you swore you'd never waste on Link ever again. He's been back for a grand total of a few hours, and here you were already sobbing.
It was time to face the facts. Lying to yourself for the past seven years did you no good. You weren't over him. You were never going to be over him. And you couldn't get over the fact that he left and went mute for so long, leaving you to wonder if he ever really cared.
And the most pathetic part of it was that you still didn't know what you wanted from him. Did you want an apology? A love confession? Your best friend back?
Did you even want him at all? Or did your ego just want revenge for being snubbed for seven straight years?
But as you thought of the way his eyes looked at you in the tavern, you realized all along what you wanted. It was the way he looked at you as children, too.
It was unconditional love.
"Y/N?" You looked up to see Link's silhouette at the end of the alley. You heard the distant sound of voices, alarming him. He ran toward you and grabbed your hand. "Quickly, they're following me." He whisked you down another alleyway, pinning you to the wall, holding you, and masking you both in the shadows.
The voices grew louder and louder, until they fizzled out into another direction.
Link sighed.
He looked down at you, suddenly aware of how close both of your bodies were. "Why did you run away?"
"I didn't think you would notice my absence, Mr. Hotshot hero."
He gazed down at you with hooded eyes. "I've noticed your absence for the past seven years."
It felt like the weight of his body was melting into yours. Somewhere along his journey, the knobby knees he had as a kid had turned into slender and toned muscle. You felt his thigh pressing gently in-between your legs as he kept you pinned down. "As I was saying before I was interrupted, the reason I was asking if you were taken is because I had designs to take you myself. Ever since that day outside the forest. When I saw the way the sun captured your e/c eyes and the way your h/l hair smelled like the dew of a fresh morning."
The smallest inkling of pride leapt forward, making one final display of control. You let out a gentle snort. "I've moved on. You can't just disappear and come back and-"
His lips hovered above yours.
"You can't-" Any words coming out of your mouth no longer matched the frequency of desire coming from your body and heart.
"You're over me?" The unfamiliar gruffness of his tone sent a shockwave of lust coursing through you. You knew your pride had officially lost.
"Yes."
"Then if I kissed you, you wouldn't care?"
"No." You lied as your body began to squirm with impatience.
You threw your arms around his broad shoulders as he rested his hands on your hips. You murmured against his lips. "Why would you kiss me?"
From your lips, which had lied, came a pair of lips quivering to deliver you with their truth.
"Isn't it obvious that I'm just a little too not over you."

Every Zelda Fan at some point must wind up making a fake Zelda game in their head and so I present Legend of Zelda: The Blueprints of Dimensions. After an evil wizard rips apart the literal fabric of existence, Link must use a magic hammer to fix it one dungeon at a time.
The central gimmick of the game revolves around taking rooms out from other dungeons and inserting them into new dungeons in order to fill in holes left behind by the tears in dimensions. You also will sometimes have to do some demolition work to make room for the new rooms you are transplanting.
Tumblr media
Link is a new worker at the Goron Excavation Company. The Gorons call him Green, because of his tunic and his lack of experience. After discovering a magic hammer, he quickly finds himself tasked with saving the universe as is longstanding tradition for people named Link.
Tumblr media
Zelda is a royal architect sent to oversee the Goron excavations. Called Blue by the gorons for her dress and because she is in charge of the blueprints, unbeknownst to her she is a descendant of destiny and thus the only one capable of reconstructing the Blueprint of Dimensions.
Tumblr media
Vulkano is a powerful Bombu wizard who is the sole funder of the excavations. Known by the Gorons as Red for his bad temper and his hat, he wishes to find and destroy the Blueprint to forcibly separate the Hero of Time from this dimension and ensure that Ganon cannot be defeated.
Tumblr media
A strange cross between a bomb flower and a deku shrub, most bombus do not have the patience to become powerful wizards and instead choose careers with more straightforward trajectories.

How would Aspect Wild react to Deku shrubs and Skull kids? I feel he woukd be a super confuse and does the paw batting thing cats do with shrubs I think.
I can see him befriending the shrubs and just towing them around. As for the skull kids, I don't know really. I'm stumped there.
The deku scrubs he would be confused at first but in the end would find them kind of cute. he absolutely would bat them first. But then he would literally adopt them. Let them ride on his shoulders and arms. His little tree children.
Skull Kid would freak him out at first, because he freaks everyone out at first. But Wild loves a prank so he'd have fun with him... although would also be the victim of a lot of mischief too

Legend of Zelda Theme Park - Lost Woods
Tumblr media
(I'm going to try this new thing where I shade part of the overall park map an appropriate color to show which area I'm talking about.)
The Lost Woods covers the southeastern corner of the park (corresponding to the Triforce of Courage) and, to suit its role as a vibrant enchanted forest, is the most lushly planted area of the park. Roughly a third of its footprint is devoted to planters filled with live trees, shrubs, and flowers, represented by the stippled shapes on the detailed map below. The artificial structures housing attractions, shops, and eateries are dressed to resemble hollow trees and caves. Most dramatic of all is the Great Deku Tree himself, rising well above the rest of the features in the area.
Tumblr media
Attractions
Spirit Train (Forest Station): One of the stations for the Spirit Train (see the Castle Town writeup) can be found here.
Picori Picnic Park: Inspired by The Minish Cap, this is an ideal spot to take a break from all the running around and eat lunch (and let the kids do more running around). A well-shaded area of picnic tables and benches sits alongside an elaborate playground, and everything is in the shape of giant flowers, leaves, mushrooms, and other objects to make you feel as though you've shrunk to Minish-size! There are also statues of Minish that guests can pose with for photos, and giant stumps and logs with windows to peer into to watch Minish going about their lives at home.
Koroks in Concert: Inside a huge hollow stump is a tiny theater-in-the-round where dozens of animatronic Koroks put on a musical revue! Some of the tunes in the 15-minute program will be familiar to anyone who has played the right games, but others are unique to this show. Guests are prompted to sing along with the grand finale and in so doing, encourage the Deku sprout in the center to grow!
The Great Deku Tree: He's not a ride, nor exactly a show, but the guardian spirit of the Lost Woods is an impressive sight all the same. He continually grumbles and sighs and makes different expressions as he watches over the forest, and his spreading crown (the dashed outline shows its rough extent) is made from a system of hollow twigs and retractable artificial leaves in a variety of colors, so that his foliage can shift with the seasons. Moreover, he serves as the entrance to another attraction entirely...
Lost Woods Labyrinth: The largest attraction footprint in the Lost Woods belongs not to a ride, but a walkthrough—a “maze” that you can't actually get lost in. Entered through the base of the Great Deku Tree's trunk, the labyrinth winds in a convoluted fashion through a fantastical landscape of forest groves and small caves, with occasional branching paths that encourage repeat visits. The majority of the maze is located inside an enclosed show building, though ample skylights keep the ambient light levels synced with the outdoors for that extra bit of authenticity. The path takes guests through a variety of whimsical, mystical, and eerie forest scenes, from simple wild animals going about their lives to spider webs with scuttling Skulltulas to a Great Fairy Fountain. Some scenes include interactive elements--motion sensors cause Deku Scrubs to pop up and spit water, or a scene of Koroks at play includes a pushbutton that makes more of them descend into view on their little leaf-propellers.
The Grove of the Master Sword: At the exit of the labyrinth, guests have the choice to return to the main area of the Lost Woods...or take a picturesque but unlabeled path that leads to a quiet grove with a marble dais in the center, carved with the symbol of the Triforce and the emblems of its three virtues of Power, Courage, and Wisdom. And in the center of that is the pedestal where the Master Sword waits to be claimed by the Hero. You can try to draw it if you like. Do you think you're worthy? (Is this basically a ripoff of Disneyland's Sword in the Stone? Yes. Is the whole Master Sword stuck in a pedestal already a ripoff of Arthurian legend anyway? Also yes.) Another unlabeled path leads directly between the grove and the main area, and a third connects it with Epona Ranch. There are many ways to discover the Master Sword if you're willing to explore the unknown.
Skull Kid's Dash-n-Twist: This “mad mouse” style roller coaster is themed around the concept of chasing the mischievous Skull Kid through the forest treetops, with dangerous forest monsters popping up at every turn! Is he leading you to safety or hoping the Babas and Peahats will dispose of you?
Deku Gliders: This is a carousel-type ride with suspended cars shaped as if made from leaves, flowers, and twigs. The central mechanism is shaped like a huge flower, and the “stalk” extends upward when the ride begins, giving riders an elevated view of the surrounding area.
Shops
9. Outfitted For Adventure: If you didn't manage to pull the Master Sword, never fear—this shop has you covered with toy and prop weapons (including replica Master Swords, we're not stupid, we know what the people want), as well as souvenir clothing, hats, fanny packs, pouches, canteens, walking sticks, and other simple gear items for outdoorsy and adventurous types. Themed as a small, torchlit cave in honor of the one where Link was gifted his first ever sword at the very beginning of the franchise, the shop has that scene's famous slogan painted prominently on one wall in the classic NES lettering: “It's dangerous to go alone! Take this!”
10. The Fairy Fountain: Found one cave over from Outfitted For Adventure, this shop carries all things fairy-related, from books and art prints to dolls and “shoulder pet” fairy toys.
11. Figurine Gallery: Another feature inspired by The Minish Cap, this kiosk built into the side of a tree (the structure is artificial, but the roof is basically a big planter for real shrubs), sells hand-carved wooden figures and decorative items, no two identical! Limited customization (color stains, a name etched or burned into a figurine base, etc.) is available on some items and can usually be completed while you wait.
12. Flower Cart: This is also a small retail location, selling all kinds of silk flowers and flower crowns. Many of them are generic, but others are made to resemble the fictitious flowers that occur in certain LoZ games—many colors of Pico Blooms (The Minish Cap), Silent Princess (Breath of the Wild), and even Bomb Flowers (various) with light-up “wicks.”
Eateries
13. Minish Mini-Nosh: If you didn't bring your own lunch to the Picori Picnic Park, you can pick up something tasty at this fast casual eatery specializing in “miniature” food—bite-sized sandwiches, “baby” vegetables, “Minish-kabobs,” and more! Get them a la carte for a quick snack or mix and match a combo for a full meal!
14. Hollo’s Hollow: A callback to the potion-making Korok in The Wind Waker, this is a beverage shop much like Castle Town’s Potion Hut. Also on offer are healthy snacks such as whole-grain crackers, trail mix, and fresh fruit. Conveniently located right next door to Koroks in Concert so you can have something to wet your whistle while you enjoy the show.
15. Saria’s Bakery: Named for Link's sweet and spunky childhood bestie from Ocarina of Time and located inside a huge hollow stump, this bakery offers a wide selection of rolls, buns, muffins, cookies, cupcakes, and other baked goods. Specialties include Kokiri Fairy Cakes (frosted pale blue and adorned with sugar wings) and a honey butter blend that's terrific on all kinds of savory bread. Everything is made on-site and guaranteed fresh!
Miscellaneous
You might notice some unlabeled circles on the map. These are artificial tree structures that don't house any publicly available feature--instead they are used as storage sheds, small employee break rooms, and general ambience.

I am laughing at the emotional support link's
Lol I don't know why but I image the reader makes them necklaces to say theses are my daddy links I am there baby
Lol image fd meeting the DS reader and Savin her From some monster's that have fire arrows and boam arrow and the links can't get to her and she cloundt dive into a flower right away or a bottle. Poor Ready so scard and has little bruns and trying to use her bubble's and seeds but it does not do Much cuz she still Young and the little seeds are Like a beam beam gun bullet and don't do much and her bubble don't work.
And is like back off my little flower babe
He just kills them and takes reader back and hugs her
Image he breaks free from the mask cuz his little flower bud hurt
No, because I forgot you can put them in bottles. I'm just imagining the situations this would bring.
Time: "Oh yeah I put y/n in this jar to keep them safe and to make travelling with them easier."
Wind: *trying to break the jar* "you put them in jail! No!!"
Warrior: *Thinking about all the fairies he had to find and rescue from jars* "Hey wait a sec-"
Sky: *Can't pick you up and hold you so now he's upset*
Just all of them wondering how you even fit but most importantly let them out!! Or at least let Hyrule in there so he can make sure you're ok. Put some twigs and leaves in there at least- ok Time?
Fierce has a protective streak a mile long. He sees the others as far too young and rambunctious (probably because they are) but at least he knows they can protect themselves. You're only defense is hiding or running away. You're the weakest out of the group and they all know it. The others may not understand it as well but he knows the score.
Most deku trees are targeted because of their abilities. They often find themselves in terrible situations because once they take root they can't move. They rely on others to save them. From Time and the Goma, Warrior and the burning of his tree, to Sage and phantom Ganon. The deku has to rely on staying hidden or a hero to save them.
This doesn't bode well for you. You're weak and fragile and prone to death from evil forces. The moment things start to feel serious he refuses to let you become another example and exercises extreme caution. Not letting the chance you may get hurt he immediately takes over Time and rushes forward. Time's body can withstand a few bomb arrows with Fierce in charge- sure he'll be sore but what's that to your life? If he can't handle sore muscles then he isn't prepared to protect you.
He loves the boys but he's more worried about what will happen if they lose you on their watch. The devastation would tear them apart at the seams. Best not to risk it.

Hylian Doc
Tumblr media
Hmmmm doc as a deku with guardian bits <3 Loose lore bit: Doc was always an odd deku shrub, first he was interested in sheikah technology, and second, a pair of goat horns grew off the top of his head where other dekus may grow leaves or branches. One day he set out to visit one of his friends but ran across a lynel, where his natural camouflage failed, and he became injured. Doc worked the rest of the way to his sheikah friend's house, holding his arm as he trudged, and collapsed on the front step. Several days later he woke up, feeling heavier than before. He's been staying at the Sheikah lab since that day, helping his friend with research, as well as conducting his own experiments.

Astia, Prophet of Time
Name: Astia Race: Symphonyxian/Hylian Gender: Nonbinary Occupation: Seer, mage, Timewalker Powers: Music magic, wind magic (via charm), time magic, divination, levitation Likes: Music, magic, tea, astronomy Dislikes: Deku Shrubs, being told what to do, being unable to use magic
Themes: Bright Future - Astia’s Theme (Owl House Outro)                Tiro Finale! (No Big Deal - Amphibia)
What happens when you cross a Hylian divination mage and Symphonyxian Timewalker? A ball of sass and magic, that’s what. Astia is the result of the fusion spell used on Dolcia and Astor, gaining the arcane abilities of both mages. Astia has Dolcia’s optimism, energeticness and arcane stamina, and Astor’s strategic tendencies, cockiness, and stubbornness. Astia tends to be overconfident and laid-back but knows when to take a situation seriously. They take pride in their arcane abilities and has a tendency to let their ego get the best of them. The combination of Astor’s divination and Dolcia’s time magic allows Astia to quickly react to incoming attacks and even predict the outcomes of battles before they even begin.
Fun Fact: Their freckles are in the shape of small stars
