ig it depends on what like, semantic definition of “ship” you’re using because i like their relationship a lot as a narrative device/what its impact can have on the plot and other character relationships/what it does for their individual development as people, but honestly? i don’t “ship” them in a “i think they’re a viable and cute relationship that makes me happy to think about” sort of way. like i’m not anti-mickber and am chill with its presence as a side ship in a fic or something but i’m not like, seeking it out (and let’s be real i have multiple other characters lined up for amber in particular that i’d rather see her with lol)

what appeals to me about them more than anything is the fact that they’re so “obvious” and yet so deeply incompatible because they’re “obvious” without a “spark” — like that’s pretty explicit in the way they interact in s1. they genuinely care about one another, but at the end of the day, its sort of forced to be romantic? in a safety net, this is familiar and comfortable *enough* that i can linger here indefinitely (but it’s also holding me back) sort of way. EXTREMELY good dynamic to have, especially early in the show as a catalyst for characters to beef over when it starts going sideways, but it’s a dynamic that’s good because it’s destined to fall apart at some point, you know? especially since they’re clearly doing some social-status-gender-role-validation shit through this relationship that makes it smell even more doomed 💀

the line that best sums up their relationship for me is in early s1 when amber’s like oh yeah of course our relationship has to work we’re both hot :) and mick was like yeah! :D and the scent of pure COPE is so strong that it might as well have summoned the events that follow it. and i think that’s beautiful

Oh yeah also to be exact for stream purposes, average playtime from all 60 reviews is 10-12 hours, but total range is 8-15, double for a 100% playthrough. You do have to progress in the side content to progress in the main story (complete x missions/get x points/get to x rank type of deal), and you'll probably want to progress in the side content to level up since it's money-based and that's the fastest way to make money. I'm pretty sure the variance comes from getting sucked into the side content (probably not likely for your playstyle) or having trouble with the bosses at a lower level (they're apparently pretty hard this time).

It also looks like the Infinite Wealth demo is split into two (an adventure mode with the extra cutscenes and another one that's basically the demo we've seen around). Adventure mode Allegedly doesn't have proper saves at the time of writing (this was an annoyance for one reviewer so I assume it's long enough to warrant that), so it's worth taking that into account too. Anyway that's about it lol don't quote me on any of this because my brain just shut off after a certain point <3
