we know barry caught thawne endangering people's lives just to play hero when they first met. but how exactly did that happen? and a better question, did thawne even try to hide it, considering he only ever saw that as a form of worship and honoring barry's legacy as the flash? so, did he just casually mention this fact? did he try to arrange another one with barry present or worse, personally offer him to arrange/avert it together? imagine you meet this guy, your fan from the future who got himself powers just like yours and wears your old suit and at first hes like. okay. you two spend the day together. everything seems to be more than fine, you two are genuinely fascinated with each other. you discuss the speed force stuff. you quote your father's watches engraving in an attempt to support him as the night sets in. and then out of the blue this mf says 'hey wanna save some people together?? i have the fire scheduled in five minutes from now'.

remember commander cold's flashback about elongated maniac? the hostage situation in 25th century and all?

so. i want to ask a little question to that. WHERE WAS THAWNE AT THIS MOMENT AND WHAT POINT OF HIS TIMELINE WAS IT. his whole 25th Century Flash deal was making up endangering people situations for him to avert because nothing ever happened in 25th century. WHEN DID THAT OCCUR. and boi do i have Theories:

thawne is dead at the moment, as usual

thawne is alive but it happens at the same time as his prison sentence for endangering civilians or hes unaware and finds out when everything's over or has his speed dampened after the release.

thawne is alive but completely unaware and/or doesnt give a fuck because he's obsessing over barry and how to ruin his life 23/7 (1 for the flash museum maintenance and other curator stuff). if he's aware he's not coming on purpose because the city+cops didnt appreciate him enough as the Flash Of 25th Century.

thawne is alive, aware and lets shit go down on purpose or even arranges it personally following hunter's long term Plan he averted his disability for, which at some point includes creating the renegades for shits and giggles (most likely one as it actually fits the approximate 25th century timeline)

thawne fucking LIES when talking about nothing ever happening in 25th century in the first place and stuff like that occurs every 2-3 months which is yeah, pretty rare and peaceful compared to 21st century but still not nothing. he waited for something to happen for like a day or less after becoming a speedster and then went WELP. IMA NEED TO CREATE CRIMES MYSELF THEN. SUCH A SHAME THERE ISNT A SINGLE OPPORTUNITY FOR ACTION IN THIS DAMN TIME.

in continuation: thawne is alive but completely unaware as hes busy setting up the accidents to pose in front of as the Flash Of 25th Century like 4 blocks away from the hostage situation.
