Leo tightened the strap of the tray that would hold an assortment of drinks and food. Even though they didn’t make it into the competition, they didn’t mind handing out refreshments. After making sure it was secure, he looked over to Mikey, who was doing the same.

“You doing okay, Mike?”

Mikey secured the strap over his neck, tongue stuck out in concentration.

“Got it!”

Leo smiled and gave a thumbs up. Though their smile fell when they heard the familiar sounds of a laser gun being fired. He barely had time to see where the laser bullets were going before they pulled Mikey out of the way. The bullets stopped as fast as they came.

When the twins stared in the direction they came from, they saw who Leo assumed was a Donatello on a tv screen attached to a robot; a tiny turtle wearing a hoodie, a teal bandanna, and glasses; and a… an unmutated turtle attached to a small gatling gun?

Leo blinked, then asked his twin, “S-Should we... report this or something?”

“Mmm. Nah. I think it’ll be fine.”

Leo sighed. As if they didn’t deal with enough chaos from just his siblings.

Question bout the roleswap au… since the upgrades still sorta exist for the abilities, just for the Kirby Cup

what happens to the Masked Hammer upgrade?

Fantastic question!!

So this is from an older post, but I think the arena mode would have to work differently in the Roleswap AU. So blueprints collected along the journey are still used to upgrade Kirby’s copy abilities- but since he’s not the main protagonist and is instead protecting Waddle Dee Town in the AU, blueprints would unlock new more difficult tournaments instead! The more abilities he has, the more Dedede and Meta Knight would learn and gain by fighting against those in a friendly challenge!

But yes, I have given some thought as to how the ability upgrades in this AU would work differently!

So in the Roleswap, Masked Hammer wouldn’t exist anymore. Dedede’s hammer would be the ultimate upgrade for the Hammer ability. It would have a few different moves than the canon Hammer or Masked Hammer ability but revealing any details on that is a massive comic spoiler, sorry! When the time comes I’ll explain.

I guess that also means I’d leave out Wild Hammer from the upgrades. But I’m not that mad about it hahaha. Toy Hammer has some unique moves AND that cool flying glitch anyway so I just like it more. Sorry, Wild Hammer fans :’O

So to balance those removals I’d add the Spear ability back in the picture! Then Primal Spear (aka the Prince’s scythe hehe) would be obtained after that in-game boss fight. I revealed this design a long time ago so I don’t consider it a spoiler anymore! I just can’t talk about the circumstances of that in-game or hypothetical battle in the comic’s story….

But by adding Spear’s evolution line to the equation, I think it would only be fair to make its final evolution themed after the wielder of one of the most powerful spears we’ve seen in-universe as of this post…

In conclusion, Dedede Hammer would be the ultimate version of the Roleswap’s Hammer ability. But then to keep things fair I wanted to make Meta Knight Sword the ultimate version of the Roleswap’s Sword Ability……

…..so I did. It just feels symmetrical and right to me.

I can’t talk about what happens to Morpho Sword ability in the AU at all. Part of the reason is so I can keep the trend of the two third-level ability evolutions after similar bosses, but there’s story reasons I can’t reveal. Very sorry. I’ll try to make the wait worth it for that answer.

But at least the Sworn Partners can have equal bragging rights now!!

They are secretly quite honored to be considered such adept users of their weapons, no matter what they choose to show on the outside. <3

Hi there! I actually wasn’t to familiar with any AUs outside things like Cass Apocalypse and Little Prince since I’m fairly new to the fandom! Im actively interested in several! Dee-evolution, Mutation Situation, Sidelined, Snapper Lou to name a few.

As for one I suggest others look at? I’ll always tell people to read @olliethescribes No Crime, Only Brooches AU. It’s fantastic if you like Warren Stone and Hypno-Potamus since they’re the MCs. It explorers their characters super well, and everything feels in character but fresh at the same time!

Yes! 100% makes sense and also why I feel that it works so well as an AU that can stay more-or-less close to current canon.

When you take a character out of their time, de-age or whatever, it sometimes comes at the cost of their character development as we know them, since time and aging is a pretty huge factor in evolution, but Mac (and Charlie) are weird exceptions to this, because their character development has very little to do with their age (they really haven't aged in their own minds) and almost everything to do with how their circumstances change over the course of the show.

Mac didn't have to get older to come out. There was nothing about him maturing mentally or physically that cause him to accept himself. It only took him so long because the Gang enabled him for years, let him hide and pretend because they didn't want to deal with it. So if you speed up that timeline, face Mac with the fact that he's gay early on (make it so there's a reason he can't run away), you can basically take any plot from S1-16 and apply it to a young Mac and find that it's pretty much in character.

I think with Dennis, it's clear why if you de-aged him you wouldn't be able to achieve canon Dennis past a certain season. So much of his character development and evolution is based in him grappling with growing older. Physically being older hurts him in a lot of ways, but it also helps him grow and understand who he is and how to mask himself even better (which could be for worse).

Dennis has to age to face his demons, Mac has to be taught to face his. Though, does facing their demons mean they concur them? Or are they devoured to become worse?

Love Like This - my enginierre AU, which was the first Piarles fic I posted it. I loved writing this one so much, and I'm tempted to go back and look at my notes for the sequel because there is one planned out!

Uneasy Lies the Head - my Mercierre AU, which was the first Piarles fic I started writing. It's a big one at 34k but I loved every second of writing it.

Whispers Can Echo - my fake dating AU, written for a fic exchange, this was such a fun fic to write. I never thought I would write a fake dating AU but this one fan away from me. Obvs, they're just idiots in love and needed that gentle push to realise it!

(I Want) Something Just Like This - my only 5+1 with fashion student Charles. Another exchange fic that was such a blast to write, and being able to use a Coldplay title for it really made it for me.

And Time is Frozen - my short-ish fic at 5k, a collection of snapshots throughout the evolution of the Piarles relationship with the growing collection of Charles' charm bracelet thanks to Pierre. It was just so sweet to write them like this, taking little bits of their lives together, and being able to dip into my headcanons along the way.

Pokemon AU

Meet the champion!

Lex was never first. Even his current title was handed to him after the previous champion, Clark Kent, left to Unova.

He managed to keep his title so far but even still, this newbie fire gym leader kept giving him trouble. It wasn't right in his opinion! He believed that he should be untouchable! No one should be able to be considered a threat or a rival tto him!

As you can see Lex is the only one so far without an eevee, and that is because he deemed eevee and all of it's evolutions weak and unworthy of his time. So he gave the neglected pokemon to his adoptive sister in the guise of a gift for not receiving one as a child. But in reality it was one of his ways to weaken her potential team in the future and to make sure she'll never be a threat.

Lex was a very strong trainer, had he continued to improve as he did when Clark was around he might've actually become almost unbeatable one day, but he didn't and even that wouldn't be enough for him.

Once he found out about the legendary pokemon Eternatus and his potential massive power he knew he had to have it on his team!

His plan was not easy, he had a lot of research about 'the darkest day's where Eternatus previously appeared before being defeated by the two heroes of the region 3000 years ago. He did what he could. Trying to keep the chairman of his back and banning any trainer who sniffed too much around but at the end, nothing was going as he planned.

(BTW had my first death in my new pokemon sword Nuzlock run. Rest in peace Dee the Corvisquire)

If Elfilis and Elfilin has voice actors voicing them, who would it be and why according to your headcanon?

Oh what a great question!! Thanks for asking!

I go back and forth on my personal head canons... Ask me this again in six months and I may have a different answer! :P But I think right now, for the versions of these characters in the Roleswap AU, I imagine them both voiced by Cristina Vee! She has an amazing range!

I'd imagine Elfilis to sound like Bennett from Genshin Impact- But Elfilis would probably talk slightly slower than Bennett. He'd enunciate his words with the airy and bouncy diction of the Lab Discovera tour narration- but especially like the second half of the tour where the narrator voice sounds more intentional and serious.

We'll go into more detail on this later in the comic, but before meeting our protagonists, Elfilis didn't really experience having a conversation before, they only observed from afar and mimicked what they remembered. And who knows? This is just a theory but maybe a fun one to think about- Perhaps the evolution of the Forgotten Language into Popstar's language could be compared to the evolution of Latin into the Romance languages! (Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian, and Catalan) Maybe that's what could've helped Elfilis pick up the new language a little faster...

ANYWAY so when Dedede asked Elfilis to speak in his own voice instead of mimicking theirs, they quoted lines from the lab tour. They don't remember the entire speech- only fragments of phrases are in their memory. But for some reason, it's one of the earliest memories they have. At that moment, he picked his own natural speaking voice by referencing the only other voice they could recall that didn't already belong to someone else....

As for Elfilin I think he'd sound like Tulin from Legend of Zelda! Mostly because his voice is pitched slightly higher. And Elfilin would talk a bit faster than Elfilis. I can't go into much more detail as to why, I'm afraid. Just have to wait and see! :'D
