So upon seeing those latest covers for this coming week's issue of Detective Comics (#1073), I decided to look at what other variant covers they made for this arc, and I gotta say, a lot of them absolutely SLAP! As far as any of my friends who know anything about art history can tell, the alternate cover for #1073 seems to be referencing Gustav Klimt's general style (if it's referencing any specific work, we have yet to find it).

But seeing the artistic influence at play here, I can't help but to look at these other covers and wonder if they are referencing any specific works, artists, or artistic movements. Sadly my art history knowledge isn't very good.

So without further ado, I would like to introduce you all to the "I'm certain this is a very cool and clever reference to some famous work of art, but I have no idea what that is" collection (feat. Gotham Nocturne).

Okay, so I do admit that I know what the last two are referencing, but I don't know much about those two works from an art history perspective!

If you can tell me more about the possible references of these covers, I would honestly really REALLY like to hear about it!
