Fuck Lee Sung Jin, Steven Yeun and Ali Wong for standing by someone who admitted to raping a woman on a podcast in 2014 (aka long before they hired/worked with him). No amount of saying “it was acting” can walk that shit back and excusing it as a “fabricated” story makes them garbage.

Update: no longer watching Beef after learning about the mess with David Choe—and the fact that the show's leads/executive producers likely knew about his shit and still supported hiring him :/

steven yeun has severely disappointed me i’m not even going to pretend i’m not hurt. i don’t know ali wong but now i don’t want to. i cannot believe that they are choosing to take up ranks with their weirdo friend instead of standing up and saying it was wrong and we condemn him, period. and the statement they shared tells me they KNEW he’d said this and now we’re supposed to take him at his word that it’s a fabricated story. i was going to check out beef definitely won’t now, pretty sure i won’t be able to watch invincible either. i feel very disgusted

Maybe this is a controversial take but I don't think your "representation" can be considered good if it's actively coming at the cost of other marginalized communities. Like okay, sure, it might be "accurate to the experience" but this means nothing when this is being used to actively support extremely harmful things such as rape culture and anti-black violence.
