The best thing about 13 was Jack and Maddie and their interaction with Danny. But what made this episode special is how it revealed to me just how similar Danny is to his parents. He got his dad's temper and stubbornness while having his mom's sharp wit. Jack and Maddie may not be perfect parents, but they raised some good kids.
What's with all the Danny animosity in the tag today, I love that guy, he's so weird and fucked up and I want to put him in a little enclosure and study him under a microscope.
junko: we will reward you with some of our home cooking!
me: okay but like. as much as i want to headcanon junko as a shit cook. if her ultimate analyst stuff lets her learn anyone's ultimate from seeing it. she probably cooks just as good as teruteru. so like. that's not a bad reward.
loving the addition of haibara to the kiddie conan group bc it turns it from one babysitter trying to desperately stop the kids from following him into danger to two adults doing their investigating job where one wants the kids to stay out of danger and tells them no with the expectation the other will agree and help stop them, but in actual fact she's just enabling the kids letting them put themselves in danger
This moment is fascinating to analyze cause it reveals some interesting things about Danny's perception of himself. Fun Danny views Super Danny as someone burdened with responsibility due to his ghostly powers who have no family because of that duty. But Super Danny still sees the Fentons as his family despite being a full-time hero who isn't burdened with a double life. This is especially ironic given that Dark Dan doesn't seem to care about them and even actively try to ensure that they die so that he can be created. Though as seen in A Glitch In Time, we learn that he does miss his family.
Super Danny also thinks that Fun Danny is a disappointment to their family due to their irresponsibility, which implies that Danny himself believes that his family views him as a disappointment. I love how such a seemingly silly episode provides so many interesting insights into Danny, which was later capitalized to its fullest in A Glitch In Time.
Dash literally built motorized skeleton animatronics, AND a roller coaster showcasing the Horrors of Athlete’s Foot. Has anyone explored Dash’s inventive side? Time skip where he joins the gang and builds weird tech? Could be endearing, a reformed bully who is trying to atone for his past by helping the heroes, and is entirely too enthusiastic about ectoplasmic ray guns.
just finished the pd finale. man . no spoilers. augh, i was grinning the whole fucking time even as my eyes were watering because the story was just too good, i fucking loved that so much.
watching it i was like man i miss when they went to school i miss when ashe was okay and i was like maybe i just want to rewatch the whole fucking series because i love it that much. like HOW do you expect me to watch riptide when i have the god damn prime defenders on my mind??? ive been struggling with this for months now and !??? the epilogue?? i need that NOW.
i just want to say. all of the characters had such amazing character growth. obviously wiwi. but dakota?? my boy?? and vynce?? seeing all of these characters mature, however subtly or dramatically, i fucking loved it. they went from awkward cringe teenagers who fought crime for the fun of it. to actual heroes. seeing vynce become so much more emotionally available. seeing dakota push aside his ideals to take care of his friends, because he was a friend before a hero. seeing william accept his position in their lives, accept that he could be enough. god .
