A/N: gods, I just love side characters. tbh, I’m mostly just projecting myself and my imaginations on that (but which writer didn't do that at least once) XD
tags/warnings: reader is tanaka’s brother (could also be adopted) & a dancer, set in season 2 episode 19, Miyagi Spring Qualifier Quarterfinals (at least that's what fandom wiki says, I hope that it's right)
Hey, lovebirds
It was a match from the Miyagi Spring Qualifier Quarterfinals - Aoba Johsai and Date Tech were playing - and the second set with a two-point-lead by Seijou. The third-grades of Date Tech just came running on the bleachers.
“What’s the score?” They arrived at the rail and looked down at the still ongoing game. “Oh damn. Who won the first set?”
“Ehm”, a voice came from behind them. It was the captain of Karasuno with his whole team. “Seijo won the first one.”
“What, Karasuno?!”, Moniwa said, “Oh, hello. Good to see you.” They greeted each other and of course, Sasaya immediately had to restrain the former vice Kamasaki. That’s when they were noticed by other members of their school that they joined.
The game went on with the third-grades as well as Karasuno tensely watching. After a few other points another person came running on the bleachers and immediately towards the rails to look at the score.
Tanaka saw who it was and looked behind him to see his sister calmly stroll towards them.
“Hey!” When you heard his voice you immediately turned around and faced him.
“Oh, hey Ryu”, you grinned when you saw your brother sitting there with his usual attitude and rebellious grin. He informed you about the winner of the first set and then noticed the questioning looks of his teammates except for a few of them - especially Noya who had met you several times before already because of their friendship.
“Ugh, guys, this is my brother, (Y/N).”
You chuckled, “Hi, nice to meet you. Is it so bothersome to introduce me?” The question was directed at your brother.
“Huh, yeah, yeah, actually it is”, he answered grinning. It was usual for you two to bug each other like that. That’s also when your older sister Saeko arrived. “Oh, come on boys!” She tried to throw her arm around you to get you in her side-clasps but you were already trained and easily ducked away.
Fortunately for you, the third-graders of Date saw and waved at you so you could scurry to them.
“Why have we never seen him at games before?”, Yamaguchi asked curiously.
“Because he also has training most of the time.”
“Oh, does he play volleyball too?”, Hinata spoke excitedly. You weren’t really tall, just like him, so he was really interested if you were a player as well. But Ryu and Saeko laughed a little.
“Nah, look at his bag”, Ryu pointed at you standing next to Moniwa at the rails. It was a sports bag and shoes were hanging on the side of it. Which was noticeable is that it wasn’t only one pair but three different ones - two of which most of the boys haven’t seen anything about before. “He’s a dancer.”
“Ahhhh”
“Ok, but why is he standing here now and talking to Date’s former captain?”
Now Tanaka began to scowl and Sakeo chuckled as she sat down. “Because Aone is his boyfriend”, the young woman answered.
Many of their glances quickly went from you to the mentioned player and back again. “Reallyyyy?!”, Hinata was wide eyed looking down at the middle blocker before grinning, “Cooool!”
Daichi and Suga chuckled when they saw Ryu’s expression. “Why are you scowling?”, Daichi asked while still grinning. “Do you not like Aone?”, Suga continued.
“He’s super protective of (Y/N)!” Noya saw his chance and took it.
“Aone is.. alright, I guess”, Tanaka mumbled. The others kept on bugging him a bit but quickly turned back to the game that will decide who would be their next opponent.
Meanwhile you were standing on the rail and watching closely while occasionally cheering your boyfriend on. He had noticed you already and you could’ve sworn that he had smiled a little bit.
The game was really exciting and in the end Seijou won. You saw the third years’ shoulders slump down and them letting their heads hang. You sighed and let your head hang too.
When Date’s team quickly came to stand in front of the bleachers you made eye contact with Taka giving him a comforting smile. Then you signaled him to meet you outside in the halls. You turned around to go meet him. But before you went down you shortly hugged your sister and gave your brother a light slap on the head - which he tried to return but you could duck away - to say goodbye for the day. You’d be driving back in Date Tech’s team bus and staying at Aone’s for the night.
You went towards each other and let the others go past you both before you hugged him tightly. “You okay?”, you looked up at him with your arms still around each other and let your chin rest on his chest. The height difference between you two was kinda funny.
He gave you a little nod but he was still wearing that sad frown.
“You were great.” This made a soft look appear in his eyes that possibly only you came to see and know what it meant.
“Hey, lovebirds”, you heard Futakuchi shouting, “Come on, you can make out later. We’re gonna go to the bus now.” Aone’s team mates laughed. You stuck out your tongue towards them but let go of your boyfriend.
While you went to follow the team Takanobou linked your pinkies like he often did when you walked together.
On the bus you sat next to each other and Aone let his head rest on yours that you had placed on his shoulder. You took his hand intertwining your fingers and rested on your lap. The bus was rather quiet - exhaustion and sadness because of the lost game were the primary feelings. Your boyfriend let out another sigh.
“Hey, Taka?”, you whispered with your eyes closed. You felt the rumble from his body as he let out a low “Mh?”.
“You’re free from training tomorrow, right?”
“Mhm.”
“You wanna go somewhere then? I also got nothing tomorrow.”
“Mhm. Decide tomorrow?”, his voice was so low it send a wave of goosebumps over your skin.
“Mhm.” You felt yourself doze off - your training and the excitement to make it to the game had taken a lot of energy from you too. Soon everyone except for the adults was sleeping.
When you arrived your boyfriend shook you awake gently.
“Hey, (Y/N)”, his voice was still hushed and even a little deeper than earlier.
On the way to his mom’s car, who was so nice to pick you both up from school, your arm found his place around his middle while he placed his on your shoulders.
After eating you both went upstairs to his room to get ready for bed. Aone laid down on top of his blankets and got out his phone while you still searched through his closet for one of his hoodies. You quickly changed into it after finally finding what you searched for and flopped down on top of your boyfriend.
“Oof”, he played as if you were heavy enough to crush his brick of a body in any way.
You chuckled and kissed his cheek. A smile that only you got to see appeared on his lips.
His hand went to cup your cheek to pull you closer and kiss you properly. You sighed happily and let yourself fall into the kiss.
After you parted, you snuggled close to him and placed your head in the crook of his neck. That way you fell asleep like many times before already.

This is Vincent Regan (One Piece Live Action's Vice Admiral Garp) in the 2004 film Troy.
And frankly it's giving me pirate vibes and feeding some headcanons I already have for certain fan fictions I'm already working on/planning and someone make it stop I have too much shit to work on already wtf open head remove brain please
Also I just found out I share a birthday with Vincent Regan? cooool~
So feckit, here's my character history for Garp for my OPLA fanfic canon, for the hell of it and also to get it out of my head so I can work on what I actually want to work on right now.
Marine brat, family moved around a lot, but settled in Foosha Village when he was around six. Had one older brother (seven years older), father was a Marine Vice Admiral.
Bad relationship with father—he wasn't around much due to his work, and when he was home, the guy was kind of a major jerk.
Older brother sort of took on the fatherly role as a result, ended up joining the Marines at sixteen but staying relatively local at the base in Shells Town on a nearby island.
Made friends with a homeless girl named Helena at nine years old, who claimed her parents were pirates, and told incredible stories about their adventures.
Helena later reveals, when they're around thirteen and Garp points out that a lot of her stories don't add up or make sense, that her father was a Marine, and an abusive dirtbag. She had actually run away from home, stowed away on a pirate ship, and got dumped off in Foosha Village when they discovered her, and she plans on setting out as a pirate herself when she's older.
He's pretty resentful of the Marines because of his father, but he knows he's expected to enlist when he's old enough...
But fuck that, he's got an alternative now, and he's going for it, no holds barred.
Even if Helena insists on being captain and they butt heads over it a fair amount, he honestly accepts it because frankly he's head over heels for the free-spirited independent girl and he's pretty sure her ambitions have saved him from being molded into his old man's clone.
Fuel is added to the fire of his rebellion when his father is in town when he is fourteen and discovers his younger son's friendship with the street-rat Helena. Helena doesn't hold back her opinions of how much of an ass-bandit the man is, and he ultimately forbids Garp from seeing her.
Obviously that does nothing but result in him just seeing her in secret; not like it's that hard since his father is rarely around anyway.
A few days before he turns sixteen, his father arrives to take him to the base in Shells Town to enlist on his birthday. Helena proposes that they steal the man's personal sloop and set out in the night, and it's a sealed deal.
Three years in, they both have pretty hefty bounties and a decent crew put together, just enjoying freedom on the Grand Line.
But all good things must come to an end—they get into a firefight with a Marine vessel, and while they win...they learn that Marine crew was captained by Garp's older brother, who went down with the ship.
Garp can't take the guilt, no more than he can take how aloof Helena is about the ordeal, with her stating that all Marines are scum and she honestly can't bring herself to feel any guilt.
Their falling out results in him leaving, heading home to Foosha Village, and ultimately begging his father for a second chance at eighteen years old.
His father, an admiral now, agrees to pull some strings to get his bounty cancelled—as long as Garp enlists as a Marine and dedicates his career to hunting down and bringing in Helena...and, however reluctantly, he agrees.
He advances the ranks relatively quickly, having three years seafaring experience already, and his ability to think like a pirate means he's damned good at taking them down.
His father has already passed away by the time he manages to track down Helena at thirty-two years old in the North Blue. By now she is one of the most notorious captains in the world, known as The Siren for both her affinity toward music as well as her affinity for seducing her way out of trouble.
At some point, she's gained devil fruit powers (Mizu Mizu no Mi, Logia Type, Water), which has contributed greatly to her success.
He is frankly surprised when she willingly gives herself up on the condition that her crew is allowed to continue without her; Garp doesn't have much choice but to accept, as her devil fruit abilities make her nearly impossible to combat.
They're several weeks out from Marineford, which gives them a great deal of time to catch up while she's stuck in the hold.
She apologizes for being as cold as she was about the death of his older brother; says she knew it would ultimately drive him to leave her side and she felt it would be better if he left in resentment toward her than in guilt of leaving her behind.
And goddammit he's still in love with her.
Aaaand surprise surprise! she ends up preggo halfway to Marineford.
Whoops.
Unbeknownst to his own crew, he works out a plan with Helena to contact her crew and have them stage an attack to retrieve her, which he will intentionally lose, under the condition that she gives up her career as a pirate to raise their child.
Resulting in him returning to Marineford empty-handed, of course, with no one wise to the fact that Helena is carrying his child.
At this point Helena already has a base that has developed into something of a small village, an uncharted island on the Grand Line, of which she provided the coordinates to Garp.
The resulting falling out between him and Helena ends in them separating.
They marry in secret on the island, ultimately have two sons together, but everything comes full circle as his eldest son, Dragon, grows to resent him for being absent most of the time and not particularly personable when he is there, and ends up oposing the World Government directly...
And his second son (yes, another OC I've got a whole ass family tree going here) refuses to even accept his name after his older brother leaves, and ultimately runs away on his own in his early teens and joins Gol D. Roger's crew.
As a direct result of all this, when Garp ultimately takes his grandson in, he decides immediately that he doesn't want the boy involved with piracy...and yet he finds it hard to fault him for it when that is the path that Luffy ultimately falls into. His own history is a tremendous part of what leads to him letting Luffy go in Cocoyasi Village when he corners the Strawhat crew there.

Oh I see now, tumblr was just neglecting to notify me I have asks waiting in my inbox. So cooool, hellsite (derogatory). Nice going.
Anyway! I promise I’m trying really hard to keep writing. It’s one of my main hobbies and I am motivated largely by spite. You can always go off the assumption that I will eventually come back to write for a fic, even if I have no updated it in years.
Like I literally have this one (okay, more than one) fic that I’ve been working on and off for the better part of half my life. I’ll lose interest or muse for a bit, let it stew for a few months or even a few years and then I’ll pop back to it. I have ADHD that’s literally just how I do everything
Anyway this is the main reason why I say Do Not Assume abandonment about a fic. Unless the author themselves say it, all fics are in perpetual limbo of To Be Updated Whenever the Fuck I (The Author) Damn Well Please, so kindly fuck off all you readers who think you have any say in that at all.
Also fuck anyone who uses AI to finish someone else’s fic bc you are too impatient to fucking Wait oh my god. I wish you a very Fuck Off.

(heyyyy) how are the witch boyfriends with the other coven kids? do they like them? dislike them? any urges to adopt?
heheheheheheh *excited critter noises* WHEN I TELL YOU I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO ASK ME THIS DAMN QUESTION!
So just to get one thing straight, the boys (in this AU at least) are happy being child free and don't plan to bring little ones into the fold anytime soon.
HOWEVER(!!!!)
Gen and Angeal grew up in the Coven. It wastheir home and so they have been around for most of the births of the babies. this means the kids know them and love to bug them and have them play with them. Secretly I think Angeal probably would like to have a kid someday, but Gen and Sephiroth specifically are not there yet.
Seph finds adults difficult, so children are a whole different language to him, and Gen currently likes his freedom too much to be tied to reruns of bluey and bathtimes. Both of them agreed when they started dating that they'd talk about it again when they were both thirty. Later Angeal and Zack accepted theses trems as fair. Cloud never verbally said "yes, that is fair" but he has also never challenged it.
Zack is a big kid at heart and is very good with the Coven Kids. They think he's funny and find him endlessly facinating cause "You heal animals without magic??? thats so cooool!" hes the fun uncle at parties and events and they are usually getting piggy backs off of him and hanging off his arms.
Angeal is the sensible uncle that usually is the one calling "be careful kids!" when things get rough. He is also A+ dadgeal when the kids are upset and their parents are not there.
Genesis plays at hating having them near him. The kids find him endlessly entertaining when he makes a show of rolling his eyes at them and calling them snot nosed brats. but he always ruins it by winking at them and sneaking them candy.
Sephiroth does not know how to handle them at all. he has saved them from falling a few times. a specific memory of a kiddo falling off a play frame has everyone gushing at how fast Sephiroth moved to catch little Terra (don't look at me like that KH will always be my go to for kiddos) before he hit the floor.
Cloud is a Closet child whisperer. He doesn't appear as someone who would be good with kids but there are a few kids that just follow him around endlessly. He engages them well and treats them like intelegent beings. They all fight for Cloud cuddles when he's feeling up to giving them and theres one little boy in paticular that likes to quietly come and sit with Cloud at coven parties and lean on his arm.
Everyone in the Coven is bound by a magical duty of care spell to make sure that the Kids are safe and loved. Part of the reason Angeal doesn't push Gen and Seph is because in reality they look after the coven kids like everyone else and that resposibility is enough.
That being said.... that Quiet little silver haired kid... the one called Riku. Yeah he might just worm his way into their lives a little snugger than the rest.

Monster Review: Najarala
(I’ll also be instantiate by a new rule here that any monster with subspecies/ wildly different fights from game to game will get the long post cutoff after base monster intros)
Snaky Jakey here is a funny one. This guy was one of the monsters that blew ten year old men’s mind when I first saw his intro cutscene. Najarala still defines the primal forest to me even now. It’s the first time Monster Hunter had a proper snake monster, but thank god not the last. The coloring on Najarala really strikes me sometimes, the muted tones still coming off vibrant in contrast to the fins (plates? Spines?) on its neck. I must say I have a weird outlook on this one, since I really like the design but it somehow still comes off as middling for me, and I’m not really sure why.
4U (IG): The actual fight with Najarala is just as unique as the snake itself. The most unique attack of his (that he really likes doing in my experience) is his coil. He makes a wide circle around you, and slowly pulls closer before bursting upwards in an inescapable burn. Requiring hunters to either find the gap in his loop or dive is really neat, but as a Glaive main I never actually had to deal with this attack. The second big thing Najarala has is the scale launch. The massive tail scales he launches from his tail being able to explode due from a follow up screech is really unique, although once again I never really found much difficulty in this, although the detail of being able to destroy the scales is not lost and very much appreciated. The biggest issue by far comes from the lunge and sliding attacks at the Najarala’s disposal, and are about 8/10 hits I take from this one. Despite this, I was well into master rank before I ever realized some of the bite lunges could inflict paralysis. Not sure how tbh.
GU (Various): This fight's a lot like the 4u edition, but it certainly feels like paralysis bites are more frequent in this one. When played against hunter arts, and I used a lot of diffferent ones against this one, it becomes a really short fight tbh. Najarala flees less, and doesn't seem to have the burrowing attacks like in 4u, which were already somewhat rare already. I'd usually manage a kill before the bastard even leaves the area more often than not, so I'm overall kinda shocked how much easier this fight is.
Rating: 7.7/10
Much like his biggest attacks, the design just doesn’t hit for some reason (still soo good though).
Tidal Najarala:
So it took me a looong time to hit G rank in 4u (I was an idiot kid when I first got the game, ok?) and when I finally did, the new monster subspecies felt so refreshing and unique, and this beautiful, glorious freakshow-colored reptile is right up there for me. The colors and the elemental effects really bump my personal opinion of Najarala as a whole. Plus the coloration and status given to being a G rank monster really lands the whole "exotic" aspect for me.
4u (IG): This fight is by far faster than the baseline Najarala, and that obviously bumps the difficulty quite a bit. The amount of slam attacks I got hit by really skyrocketed in this fight. It was a bit of a coin toss on whether it felt balanced or unavoidable, but more often than not seemed like my bad. The addition of a spit attack for instilling water blight really gave some ranged ability to this fight, although Tidal tends to do wide tail sweeps compared to the small swipes of the baseline species. One of these sweeping attacks is actually the pin attack Tidal uses, which I hate purely because it makes no damn sense. If you're hit on the right, why would you ever go flying perfectly forward? But that's really more a stupid peeve of my own than anything, and overall the fight is still really fun, even moreso than the base species after you acclimate from your first attempt.
Rating: 8.6/10

A good rest.
After getting a good rest on the library's coach, I went to the bar. And it's so cozy and I love the vibe so much !! Just a simple bar but seems so family oriented. ¨Plus, I looooove the karaoke corner hehe !!
Celene who run this place told me that they is a basement "werewolves only". I went to check it out and it's so cooool !!
It's bassically a base. If you have nothing like me, just come here and make yourself at home. A bathroom, a kitchen, a living room and a bedroom are available to the wolves. Damn, it's all I needed.
Thanks god to the one who built it haha I will now live here until I got some stuff to upgrade my own place.

Gonna share my thoughts on Ares Island and Knuckles’ quest!
This is from a casual fan’s perspective
(Also tht pic was funny, love the Sonic and Knuckles interactions)
SPOILERS FOR ARES ISLAND
Ok so I kind of like Knuckles’ quest a little more than Amy’s. It’s so interesting seeing Knuckles act like a military general to these kocos. I just find it to be an interesting side of him to witness.
Hmm…It seems Sage is beginning to question Sonic and his friends’ actions more now.
(Also I love tht scene where we had to run away from the Titan)
It’s that damn symbol again..what does it mean? It only appears when the Kocos’ souls depart…it’s meaning better have some emotional impact istg
It was kind of sad to see the Kocos just…sitting there. All dead. That flashback was kind of sad, especially when you see Knuckles’ awe turn into shock
THIS SCENE WAS SO CUTE. SHE SEEMS TO BE SO KEEN ON THIS WHOLE “FAMILY” ASPECT. Orbot and Cubot would be good brothers I think…
Now I want to see Sage interact with them…
The scene where all the Koco lines up into formation and salute our heroes was the cutest and saddest scene. They acknowledge and thank them for their help.
Seeing Knuckles properly salute to them is something I’d expect. But Sonic doing it was a little surprising. I half expected only Knuckles doing it while sonic watches in the back. It’s nice seeing him try and get involved with his friends’ side quests rather than boosting through it.
I said it once and I’ll say it again. I love the interactions between Sonic and Knuckles. It feels so…different? But also familiar!
More so, I love their sarcastic comments to each other. They clearly have some form of rivalry and mutual respect which I adore. Sonic’s facial expressions when he’s with him is peak.
But I think what I love more was when Knuckles was sitting there feeling sad, you could see Sonic about to say something cheery till he decided to not do it and let Knuckles express himself. A lot of emotional maturity there.
Finally, it seems Knuckles wants to go off on his own. Him saying he’s jealous of Sonic’s lifestyle has always been something I low-key thought of. Glad it’s finally out in the open. Bro deserves a vacation. This means Tails will also say something similar..I wonder what his will be about..
Sage is definitely beginning to understand that Sonic isn’t all bad. She seems to be wavering a bit in her resolve but I doubt she’d betray Eggman. Time will tell…but it seems she still believes that Sonic is doomed.
MAN….THIS BOSS.
WHY CANT WE REPLAY TITAN BOSSES??
THIS WAS SO COOOOL. IT WAS AMAZING CHASING THE WYVERN ACROSS THE MAP WE ONCE RAN THROUGH BUT THIS TIME, IN THE AIR.
One thing I disliked was that this boss NEEDED parry. I find parry to be a lil too op in this game so I avoided using it.
Other than that, grabbing that thing by the tail and throwing it? Collecting missiles and putting them together like a ball then kicking it to the head? SIGN ME UP. AND THE MUSIC WAS SO GOOOOOOD

It’s time for one of my periodic ramblings about curly hair products!!!!!!
The real test of a quality curl cream or gel is ALWAYS in how it performs on days 2+. SooOoOooo many shit products can look decent right after a wash & dry. But the lasting power/flexibility/wearability is everything. Do I still look decent on day 4?? 5?? Because I can’t wash my hair more frequently than that w/o it turning to straw and lots of curly haired people need to go WAY longer between washes, depending on the hair and person.
But every damn curly hair ad on Instagram I get (which feels like 50 a day, but the same 6 on rotation 😂) boasts some transformation video that gives me NO helpful info. The person is all like waaah look at my dirty limp dry curls followed by a using the product sequence and then the voila look how amazing it turned out shot and like 15 secs of them bouncing their curls 🙄
Ok cooool, but please fast forward to day 5 post wash and let us see what it’s like then???? If my hair looks great at first but immediately all of the product flexes out of my hair in like 20 hours and it looks frizzy limp and stringy??? I don’t need that shit.
Anyway, not naming names but I bought some of a certain queer non-binary curious hairdresser’s product bc it wasn’t crazy expensive like so many are and I’m foreverrrrr in search of the perfect curl cream. Sadly, like many other mediocre stuff I’ve tried before, it has NO lasting power. I’ve been using it every few washes (I also alternate and mix products a lot and try not to waste.) I used it again today and my hair looked actually soooo nice and made me happy but based on all the other uses it’ll look shit when I wake up tomorrow.
