SWORDS AND KNIGHTS
You didn't know how it came to this.
The general's pupil glued to your side, looking at you with big honey, sparkling eyes as he happily munched on rice buns.
You were a simple Cloud Knight, really, and you just happened to see him on your daily patrol. The kid, who had been practising his swordsmanship, had his cheeks puffed and nose red and you, just wanting to help, stopped to offer some stray sweet soft bread you often carried with you at work.
And after that incident -to which you dutifully swore secrecy- somehow, you had become his idol. The kid just became attached to you, following you like a lost duckling whenever he had the chance.
It was all to protect the Luofu, he would say as he was tagging along on your patrol.
You tried running away, hiding behind buildings, wearing a fake mustache and sunglasses but it was as if Yanqing had some kind of sixth sense. He was always behind you, scaring you out of your wits like some eldritch monster.
Much to your dismay, his most recent pastime was showing you his sword collection. One of them was cursed, you swore, possessed even. It glowed a dark ominous red every time your eyes settled on it, but when it was its owner looking at it, the sword just glowed the prettiest shade of blue before returning to that dark colour once Yanqing's focus was back to you.
That thing probably hated your guts and you gulped, shivers running down your spine. That wretched sword still plagued your dreams at night.
But still, he was the hotshot general's retainer and surely he would leave you in favour of his teaching. What a nice joke it was because he always seemed to have too much free time on his hands. You had tried looking at Jing Yuan, eyes desperately begging for mercy. But the general in question always smiled at you, seeming to enjoy watching you drown in your misery in the shape of an annoying fourteen year old.
Safe to say you did not enjoy being his babysitter.
And now, that he was happily munching on some rice buns, cheeks puffed adorably like that of a little chipmunk's as he told you about his new swords, you couldn't help but give a small worn out sigh and ruffle his long blond locks, a small smile tugging at your lips.
And oh, you were getting soft.
Damn it.

hello. okay. yanqing. one of them. hurts their hand. doing somethjng. and the other is concerned. 100+. go.
For someone who is trained in the art of sneaking into kitchens in the dark, Yanli does not do a very good job of sneaking into Wen Qing’s room.
It’s not entirely her fault that she’s caught. She could’ve gotten away with it if 1) her girlfriend wasn’t already inside and 2) it wasn’t still light outside, making her clearly visible.
Wen Qing is sitting at the table when she enters, organizing her medical scripts by topic. They’re usually in order, but she had a patient earlier in the day who’d claimed that her initial (correct) diagnosis was wrong, and they had asked to see all of her books on their hypothesized illness. Wen Qing had taken them all out dutifully, laid them on the table, and waited for the patient to come to the same conclusion she had upon her first assessment.
After the patient was sent off with their prescribed treatment and a sheepish shame, Wen Qing had complained to her about it, and Yanli had just kissed her forehead in sympathy.
I should charge by shichen, Wen Qing said to her. That’ll teach them not to waste my time.
You won’t, out of the kindness of your heart, Yanli replied, knowing.
I won’t, Wen Qing conceded, grumbling.
“A-Li?” Wen Qing greets her, her eyebrows knitting together.
Yanli knows she must look like a sight, clutching her barely concealed wound in her sleeve, doing a horrible job of hiding her injury. There’s a light sheen of sweat on her face from suppressing the pain and redirecting her qi from her lungs to her hand as well.
“A-Qing,” she swallows, forcing a smile. “I didn’t think you’d be in here.”
Wrong choice of words. Her girlfriend’s eyes narrow in suspicion, darting to her so-called hidden hand. She really does know her too well.
“What happened to your hand?” Wen Qing asks slowly, placing aside her medical scripts in a neat stack.
“It’s nothing, really,” Yanli tries to reassure. “It’s just, ah, a small cut—”
The blood from the gash on her palm chooses that moment to seep through the layers of napkins and the fabric of her sleeve, blooming crimson on the front side of the lilac cloth. Wen Qing stands up and crosses the room in a few strides, the sight snapping her into action.
Yanli lets out a sigh. Betrayed by her own body once again.
“Just a small cut,” Wen Qing scoffs, reaching her, taking her bleeding hand and prying it from her grasp. She unfurls her palm like a flower, blossoming sticky red on them both, the stained napkins littering the floor.
Wen Qing exhales sharply through her teeth, running her finger gently along the gash to check how deep it’s gone. Yanli winces, not at her touch, but in bracing for the scolding that’s about to come.
“A-Li,” she says, her tone dangerous, dripping with a madness that can only be found in worry. “How on earth did you…?”
“You’ll laugh,” Yanli starts, and Wen Qing looks up at her with a smoldering glare. Yanli winces again. “Or not. It’s not one of my proudest moments. I was just chopping the ginger for tonight’s dinner, but one of the pieces wasn’t small enough, so I went to slice it… but then the knife ended up slipping, missing the piece, and cutting into my palm.”
Wen Qing gapes at her. “A-Li.”
“A-Qing,” she protests, “It’s not that bad.”
“You’re bleeding all over my floor and your sleeves,” Wen Qing says dryly. “We’ve surpassed the qualification for ‘not that bad’. Speaking of, come on.”
Wen Qing half-leads half-drags her over to the coffee table. When she’s seated, Wen Qing instructs her to stay put, and so Yanli does. She watches as she gets to work, filling up the water basin and carrying it over, along with a few soft towels. She picks a soothing and healing salve from her shelf, as well as a roll of clean bandages.
“You know you can ask one of your troublesome brothers to help you cut things instead,” Wen Qing says, sitting down and taking her hand again. She works on cleaning the blood off of her skin, and Yanli basks in the calmness of her movements. “Gods know they need it from running around all the time.”
Yanli laughs at the suggestion; it’s not outlandish, but it’s not ideal, either. “A-Xian actually enjoys cooking with me, though he has a tendency of setting things on fire that should not even be flammable in the first place. A-Cheng is a decent cook, but he prefers the cooking portion over the preparation.”
“Those boys,” Wen Qing says, shaking her head. “How you handle them, I have no idea.”
“They’re a piece of work,” she chuckles. With her hand clean, Wen Qing works on applying the salve, smoothing it over the area affected. “But they’re mine.”
Wen Qing hums in understanding. A-Ning gets into trouble of his own more times than she’d like to count, but she loves him all the same.
“I can help you too, you know,” Wen Qing offers. “If you’re ever in need of a taste-tester or someone to slice ingredients, and I’m not busy with a patient, just call for me. I will always answer you, A-Li.”
Yanli softens. Oh, how she loves this girl of the sun, this woman of a raging fire, bearing a heart risen from ashes.
“I know,” she whispers. “I would for you, as well.”
Wen Qing wraps the ends of the bandages over her palm with a doctor’s precision and a lover’s care, and Yanli loves and loves and loves. With a firm press to the edges, the bandages are sealed, rendering her hand mobile once more.
“Be careful next time, okay?” Wen Qing says, her expression impossibly serious, the same one she gives to her patients that keep returning after pulling off sword stunts that had no chance of being successful.
“I make no promises,” she replies, grinning.
Wen Qing gives her a fond, exasperated look, then presses kisses across her injured hand’s knuckles, faint and feather-light.
“My A-Li is so stubborn,” she murmurs, words ghosting against her skin. “Are you all better now?”
Yanli beams, her cheeks pink with warmth. “All better.”

Look at me
✧ jing yuan x gn!reader
✧ synopsis: i just wanted to make him jealous.
✧ content: established relationship, fluff, humor, jealousy, most certainly a bit ooc, mentions of other characters
✧ a/n: there's just something about generally calm characters losing their absoute shit that i find endearing. this is the only reason why i put ooc because he is not calm - there's no: let's talk it like adults cause i wanted to go the opposite route.
Tumblr media
Jing Yuan doesn’t see himself as a jealous person. He wholeheartedly believes that he doesn’t have time to be jealous. Between daily sparring sessions with Yanqing, meetings with the various commissions that reside within the Luofu and other matters he’s rather appreciative over the fact that you still stay with him, given how little time you two spend together after all.
Jing Yuan is not a jealous person.
But he’s oh so curious why you’ve suddenly decided to adorn a neck scarf on the day that the automatic weather has decided would be a rather hot day abroad the Luofu today. When he first saw it on your neck when you walked out of the bathroom that morning, you had merely waved him off with the mere explanation of: “A change in everyday attire wouldn’t hurt anyone, would it?” but still scurried away when he wanted to adjust it.
Jing Yuan wants to remind everyone that he is not a jealous person.
But his eyes narrow a tiny bit when he spots you having a chat with the traveling merchant Luocha at one of the many cafés present at the Exalting Sanctum. The two of you were sitting by a small corner with a parasol shielding you from the sun beaming down at you. Your shoulders are sunken in a relaxed state and there’s a smile grazing your lips. Jing Yuan decides to situate himself at a floor above the two of you, hidden away in plain sight but still able to observe the two of you.
He would like to reiterate that he has had his eyes on Luocha for quite a while too, so this was most certainly just because he wanted to see events that would unfold and hopefully see more sides of this secretive merchant.
He was not spying.
But his fingers stop tapping away on the table in front of him when he sees Luocha reach over the table with a handkerchief and wipe some sweat away close to your neck. You have made no move to pull away when the material made contact with your skin, merely giving a close eyed smile in thanks.
And yet you didn’t even allow him to come close to your neck this morning.
The general hums, propping his right elbow on the railing and resting his cheek on the same hand, shamefully glancing down to where the two of you are sitting to make his presence known. Feeling the eyes boring into his skull, Luocha glances back to make eye contact with the general, quickly looking back at you and muttering a few words. Upon hearing that, you merely heave a sigh and stand up from your chair, bidding Luocha goodbye.
But you didn’t spare your own lover a glance of acknowledgement even. How harsh.
“Not jealous, not jealous,” Jing Yuan finds himself muttering as he walks down the corridor of the Realm keeping commission. When he had inquired Qingzu about your whereabouts, she said that you mentioned taking a trip into the archives for unknown reasons.
When he spots an open door, he glances inside to see your back facing him. Upon glancing over the sign hanging over the door,, he realizes that this is one of the few archives only accessible to a few people, you and him being one of them. It seems you were engrossed in the books content, not having noticed him even stepping foot inside the room.
Jing Yuan thought that upon being in your space again the gnawing feeling inside his chest would disappear. Yet he finds his mood growing worse when he sees you brush your hand behind your neck and he catches a glimpse of the same neck scarf you had previously tied on this morning.
He cannot believe that the ugly feeling in his chest was caused by a scarf.
Trying to calm himself proved to be futile, because he realized that you weren’t scanning over text, rather looking over an old album you had stored away here. Jing Yuan realizes immediately what you’re looking at, or rather who you’re looking at.
And maybe it’s how you have barely paid attention to him today.
Or maybe it’s the way you’ve spent more time with Luocha than him today.
Maybe it’s because of that stupid neck scarf on a hot summer day and the fact he knows you’re hiding something that caused him to behave like this.
But Jing Yuan finds himself taking two large steps towards you before he can stop himself, his left arm worming itself around your waist while he swings his right arm over your front, fingers grasping the knot you had tied at the front and pulling off the scarf you had tied this morning.
His sudden appearance makes you yelp in shock, the book dropping from your hands and the few pictures that you had pulled out of their film paper dropping down to the floor. Jing Yuan glances down at the photo taken, noticing a particular person that has long since disappeared from your life staring back at him with a small smile, “... Me."
“... Look only at me,” he ends up whispering in a muffled tone, having buried his face into the back of your head in growing shame from this childish behaviour of his.
Your eyebrows furrow, turning your head to look at him in confusion, which in turn exposes your neck to Jing Yuan’s eyes. His visible eye widening in shock upon seeing the dark marks littered over your neck and all rationality seems to leave his mind as he spins you around before pinning you to the bookshelf. His thumb and pointer finger squish your cheek together before forcing you to look directly into his own eyes, “Why do you have those marks on your neck?”
He sees clear confusion in your eyes, but before you can try to form any words Jing Yuan is already leaning in to press his lips against your neck. You’re still pretty shocked, and don’t register what’s happening before you feel a sharp pain in your neck, “You idiot- That hurts!” you groan, shoving him away from you while grasping your neck. Jing Yuan doesn’t stumble far back, swiping his tongue over his lips to get rid of the little bit of blood on them.
“What the hell is wrong with you?” you ask, covering the wound with a hand to prevent the blood from leaking down to your clothing and Jing Yuan shrugs, “Oh I don’t know dear, you can’t possibly punish me when seeing my own lover covered with hickeys like this on their neck and acting all suspicious the entire day?”
You blink. Once, twice before letting out a disbelieved laugh.
“You.” you press your index finger down hard on his chest numerous times, “Made these.” and then you point at your neck.
It’s Jing Yuan’s turn to be dumbfounded.
“I-” you start with a laugh, “Cannot believe you don’t remember a damn thing from yesterday, were you that drunk?”
Jing Yuan vaguely remembers drinking that night out of boredom. And then flashes of your sweaty body flash through his brain and he blinks at the discovery of what his half drunken self had done the previous night.
“But you didn’t even let me look at-”
“Because usually, you would want to make more of them the moment you first see them after such an evening?” you point out before he can even finish his question, “Your meeting with Luocha-”
“I told you the same day this happened that I would be meeting him to discuss some matters.”
“Oh.”
You sigh, taking a step towards him to wrap your arms around his neck, Jing Yuan turning his head away from you in shame when you grin up at him, “Not that I find the thought that even after hundreds of years I can still make you jealous hot. But it has also been hundreds of years, surely you can stop acting like when we first started dating and ask me directly? Instead of lurking around me all day like a kicked cat or make yourself look a lot creepier to merchants.”
Jing Yuan only grumbles, arms snaking around your waist and dipping his head down to rest on your shoulder, “I’m sorry.”
“You’re taking care of the chores for the rest of the week.”

Tumblr media
✦ info: he's so, so in love with you.
✦ warnings: not proofread.
✦ featuring: jing yuan, gepard landau.
✦ notes: please do know i've done no research i only know bits and pieces of actual game lore these are simply self indulgent and silly Thoughts i'm having about them in the middle of the night <3 (i have no clue what this is i js think it's cute)
Tumblr media
— smitten! jing yuan, who thinks of you all day, every day, while doing his official duties, while sparring with yanqing, while speaking with officials, even just before his afternoon nap.
(the strangest of things remind him of you: an oddly shaped rock takes him back to the time when you baked something for him, and the dew shining on a leaf brings with it a recollection of the sparkle in your gaze. it is almost as if you've claimed more than half the space in his head, stubbornly refusing to surrender it into the hands of his daily tasks.
well, he's certainly not complaining.)
— speaking of afternoon naps, smitten! jing yuan, who dreams of you while he dozes in the afternoon. he doesn't remember all of them, but he adores the warm, fuzzy feeling he wakes up with.
— smitten! jing yuan, who names one of his birds after you. he tries not to pick favorites, he really does, but there's just something about the way this little one tilts its head that reminds him so much of you, how can he not like this one the most?
(yanqing once caught him affectionately cooing at the bird with your name. he brings it up every game of starchess they play, hoping to distract the general from stealing another one of his pieces. jing yuan knows what he's doing though, and still ends up stealing a piece or two.)
Tumblr media
— smitten! gepard, who writes letters addressed to you every single day while he's away. some he sends, some he keeps. but every single one of them is filled with all the things he thinks of telling you while you're not by his side.
(the ones he keeps are the sappiest, full of things he's too shy to say to you— about how he longs to return to your warm embrace, about how he wants to taste your cooking, about how he wants to lie in your lap while you pet his hair. perhaps one day, he'll find the courage to say them out loud?)
— smitten! gepard, who finds himself murmuring your name, over and over when he's idle.
(sometimes, if there's a tune running through his head, he sings out the syllables of your name, before catching himself in the act. he shakes his head at himself, red dusting his cheeks, but a tiny smile plays at his lips nevertheless.)
— smitten! gepard, who doodles your name (and perhaps a drawing or two) on a spare piece of paper whenever he's lost in thought. he'd never dare do that on official paper work, though, no way, none at all.
(except... one fine day, he ends up drawing one of his infamous sketches in the margins of a very important, incredibly serious, highly official report to the supreme guardian herself.
he only notices at the very last minute, right before submission, much to his mortification and relief. thank the preservation, he thinks as he redoes it, for—well— preserving his dignity.
who knows how much his sister would have teased him if she found out?)

I can see Jing Yuan pulling off shits like "I haven't been inside my wife for a day I feel like I could get a mara struck😩"
It might be a joke, but to some officials it was serious. They are MORTIFIED.
So they make sure you, his darling, his wife, his lover, his everything, give him his daily cockwarming or even better, letting him fuck you every time he gets the chance. It became a common occurrence for Bailu to visit Jing Yuan's residence 2 or even 3 times a week because of how hard the general has been fucking you every day (hell, she might as well stay at the mansion).
The only time he will stop breeding your eggs out is when you are finally pregnant. He will become hapi hapi guy, willingly take the suppressant to suppress his libido so his baby won't get hurt if he were to fuck you during pregnancy. But in exchange for having your pussy no longer bullied, you will get nausea, back pain, and so many things altogether.
At least after the baby is born, the amount of times he needs to fuck you a day is reduced as now he likes to spend more of his time with his baby.
Yet be ready, when the baby is big enough to even go training with Yanqing, Jing Yuan will look at you and be like; "another baby?🥺"
Tumblr media
-CW: yandere, dub-con, breeding, pregnancy, humiliation
Wait…it's so humiliating that the officials arranged for us to be fucked by Jing Yuan…I love this 😣😩🥺💦👉👈 Like you knew you were inevitably going to be creampied by Jing Yuan… but now you were being fucked for a greater good…?
Jing Yuan…maybe just jokingly complaining about not having you by his side - you, his destined, only spouse and lover. The seat of divine foresight cannot cease for a moment. Although the general does not have to decide or be present for everything, the workload is still a heavy and irresistible burden, like some tangled threads. Sometimes the general can only give you a holographic kiss on the forehead and go back to work. Once, after a meeting of high-level officials in Xianzhou, Jing Yuan had a faint smile on his lips as he listened to how the officials responded to people's mara and their greetings to the general. General sighed, shrugged and said.
"I haven't been inside my wife for a day I feel like I could get a mara struck😩"
The officials were shocked by Jing Yuan's outspokenness. Remembering how the general was rumored to be doting on and attached to his wife, they all avoided his eyes in embarrassment and changed the subject. After Jing Yuan left, they slowly realized that this was a serious matter related to Xianzhou's foundation. Jing Yuan is one of the seven Arbiter-Generals. If the general gets mara struck now, who else has the talent to succeed on Luofu? Fu Xuan is indeed talented, but She is still… young and not as experienced as him.
Generally speaking, as a general's wife, you are not supposed to be present at the seat of divine foresight while he is at work to avoid distracting him. But you…shouldn't you have such an obligation…? To comfort your husband?
You don't know when, but you find that you are often sent to the seat of divine foresight or teleported to any planet where Jing Yuan is located. You are like a little hamster that is soft, sweet, and can be carried around, put in the general's pocket. Sometimes he wants to be considerate and give you private space, but in the end he can't help but want to bury his head in your chest and rub it. Jing Yuan really can't let you leave.
The officials studied your schedule and it was all sorted. According to Xianzhou's time and calendar, there won't be a day that goes by that you don't get fucked by Jing Yuan's dick. If there is a schedule mistake, they are remiss.
How humiliating was it to be wheeled in front of the General to be fucked…? You may have your own ideals and hobbies, but these must be put behind the daily schedule of "warming your husband's cock." You stood aside uncomfortably, listening to Jing Yuan correcting documents and giving instructions to his assistants. Your private parts heat up due to the uneasy waiting, knowing what you will face after his work is temporarily over…
Sometimes, Jing Yuan just pretends not to care. With no change in your expression, the general grabbed you and pressed you against his cock to keep you warm for several hours, until you burst into tears uncontrollably, begging him to move even a little bit... What’s more, the general even had a special room, put you there, and tie your legs apart and lock your hands on the head of the bed. All you need to do is open your legs and wait for conception...Those balls press and slap against your swollen petals, loudly, cream swirling inside.
Bailu was too pure to understand what was happening. She just checks on you. She thought that pregnancy was about returning to Vidyadhara's egg or something.
Until…you are conceived, and a little life is growing inside you. Jing Yuan sometimes thinks about using artificial wombs or other technological alternatives. Witnessing your nausea and discomfort, Jing Yuan felt really uncomfortable and asked for leave to take care of you (even though he was the one who impregnated you…), but at the same time… Jing Yuan really wanted to taste the sweet milk flowing from your breasts. … He can only suppress his desires. He knows he has to be a responsible, trustworthy husband to you.
After the baby came into the world, both Jing Yuan and Yanqing were overjoyed. Their small palms wrapped around Yanqing's fingertips. They inherited that beautiful white hair, the most striking appearance feature, but some look like you. They waddle and explore the world with their palms outstretched. Looking at the baby, Yanqing and you, Jing Yuan's face shines with pride and happiness.
As your baby grows up, Jing Yuan ravages you less frequently… But don't forget that after Jing Yuan fell in love, he decided on the name of the third baby in the family. With earnest hope, he caressed you again. "Another baby…? 🥺"
At the same time, Jing Yuan's health report is as usual, even better than before, without any signs of mara. The plan worked.

Tumblr media
you fiddled with your hands nervously, yanqing let you know that jing yuan wanted to meet you, now you stood outside his door, scared and anxious. it was only a couple days after the incident with blade, and you had a feeling that jing yuan’s conversation would end up pertaining to that.
you tried shooing away your nerves, taking a deep breath in and exhaling before you knocked.
“state your name and business.” jing yuan drawled. to any other person that wasn’t you, or his other counterparts like fu xuan or yanqing, they’d probably think everything was normal, but you noticed the exhaustion in his voice. he was probably about to doze off before you arrived.
“it’s [name], sir. you called me here?” you asked, unsure.
he hummed in affirmation, “come in.”
you walked in, making sure to shut the door behind you. a smile curled on your lips as you jokingly chided jing yuan, “no sleeping on the job, general.” you made a small note of how you were starting to sound like blade (he just couldn’t seem to leave you alone, even in your thoughts).
jing yuan smiled, “you caught me just before my daily doze. anyways,” he gestured to the seat in front of him, “sit. i wanna talk to you.”
you sat as told, really hoping your nerves weren’t too apparent.
“is there something wrong, general?”
“not necessarily, but it is about the stellaron hunters.”
you quickly became skittish in your seat, shuffling around under the guise of getting comfortable as you avoided eye contact.
you were no fool to jing yuan’s observing eye, you were sure he could see right through you. you were lucky he trusted you so much, for he didn’t push the issue, or he didn’t notice— which you both knew wasn’t the case.
“you remember those three that came from the astral express, correct?”
“yes, the ones who proposed to help us.”
“well, they caught one of the stellaron hunters, kafka. fu xuan will be using her matrix of prescience on her later tonight. the astral express crew along with tingyun will be there, i’d like if you’d accompany them.”
your pupils shrunk. “me?” you stammered, pointing at yourself as if in disbelief, which you were.
“i don’t see anyone else in here,” he answered back teasingly.
“but i don’t understand…” you faltered. your fumble with blade was a serious concern for everyone in the cloud knights, including jing yuan. he proposed to have someone else take your position as blade’s watchman, which you accepted without hesitation.
i mean you quite literally agreed to kissing the man, how could you face him after that? you swore to yourself that everything that transpired was just the both of you acting in the heat of the moment (yet blade blatantly saying he liked you played on a loop in your head).
“you have unfinished business don’t you?” jing yuan asked, a sly lilt to his voice, as if he knew something you didn’t. it made you anxious.
“i don’t know what you’re talking about.” you say, a bit nervous.
what business do you have with kafka? other than the man you’d rather not think about, the stellaron hunters had nothing to do with you outside of ensuring their capture.
maybe there was something jing yuan wanted you to experience. you tried to convince yourself this was him acting as your general and not a friend, it made you feel a bit better.
“you know where fu xuan will be, i suggest you make haste.”
you made it just in time, for you arrived just as fu xuan begin using matrix of prescience. you stopped abruptly, eyes traveling to your other companions before you tuned your focus in on kafka.
even though she was in the hands of the remarkable fu xuan, she seemed as calm as ever. her feet lifted from the ground as she slowly rose in the air, a factor of fu xuan’s work.
your gaze flickered to fu xuan, and whatever she was seeing seemed to make her stunned. she pushed herself further, eyeing kafka’s grin with a glare. the gem on fu xuan’s forehead glowed brighter and she flinched back harshly with a gasp. she tried her best to regain her breath as her eye stayed glued to kafka.
“that’s.. why you’re here? all for that…?”
“well, not what you were expecting?” kafka asks.
fu xuan spared her a mere glance before she started to run off, not hesitating to get to jing yuan.
“what? fu xuan what’d you see?!” you called out to her distant figure.
“ask her yourself! i have to let the general know about this!”
you watched her figure as it decreased in size. you turned back to see stelle already approaching her. you knew jing yuan would fill you in on the details, but you couldn’t help but let your curiosity make you antsy.
not only that, but stelle seemed to be having an irritatingly long conversation with kafka. you eyed them and still, even now, questioned what your purpose was for being sent here.
kafka spoke in a voice that you were able to hear, “it’s begun.”
before you could question what you mean you shrieked in surprise as a strong rumbling nearly tumbled you off of your feet. “what the hell?” you muttered.
you stabilized your stance and gasped in shock as you watched the ambrosial arbor grow in size, a sight you’d never had the privilege to witness until this moment.
kafka decided that was the perfect distraction to make her escape.
“hey, hold on!” you took notice immediately, running to reprimand her. before you you could get close, a man suddenly jumped down to defend her, brandishing his weapon in your direction.
your eyes widened as you made eye contact with a familiar face. his eyes clashed with yours and the tremble of your hands returned tenfold.
“come on bladie, two more places to visit,” kafka spoke up.
“gimme a second.” blade said, stalking closer to you, causing you to flinch. “[name], you owe me.” blade told you simply, his face blank as he stared at you— he swung his weapon to hold it behind him— you flushed at the mention of your agreement.
“oh?” kafka perked up, smiling as she eyed the both of you.
“no… all that happened… was just me being too deep in the moment.” you balled your hand into a fist, the other gripping your weapon tighter. you decided now was the best time to bury whatever nonsense you felt for him. is this why jing yuan sent you? did he predict this would happen? does that mean he knew all along?
the assumption made you feel slightly sick— guessing that jing yuan set this up to force you to confront your feelings, it made you lightheaded.
blade could only blink at your words, his face was still devoid of any expression. you shuffled anxiously, his lack of response making you nervous. he then nodded, speaking lightly, “you’re right, i guess i was just too into the moment as well.”
you felt your heart stutter in your rib cage, and suddenly your confident demeanor faltered. you barely noticed the change in your expression, but blade did, and he finally smiled— or smirked. he stepped closer to you, using his index finger to tip up your chin.
“you basically tell me that this meant nothing to you but get upset when i say it back. you’re such a hypocrite.. so cute.” he trailed off mumbling as he leaned into your face.
“i’m not…” you denied, “i don’t care. i don’t… i don’t like you..” you try to say confidently, yet with a trembling voice. you knew you weren’t convincing, yet you could only hope you were.
even then, you couldn’t stop the pull of weight on your eyelids as his face ventured closer. he was definitely putting some type of spell on you. you couldn’t bear acknowledging that you liked this man on your own will.
“my plan worked, didn’t it? you owe me that kiss. unless, you know. it was just us being in the moment.” blade backed up a little, obviously provoking you.
“no!” you exclaimed hastily, gasping covering your mouth once you realized. blade’s lips adorned that familiar smirk and you shrunk. “i.. i mean.. whatever, it’s not like i care.”
“hurry it up you two, we don’t have all day, blade.” as much as kafka liked seeing blade so expressive, she didn’t like wasting time.
“i’m gonna kiss you, okay?” he gripped your chin and decreased the space between you two before you could even conjure up a response. you didn’t have time to squeeze your eyes shut before your lips locked with his.
kafka turned the other way with an exasperated sigh, willing to give you both a semblance of privacy.
all of your defiance and denial meant nothing now, you were blatantly attracted to him, and it was embarrassing how quick you melted into him. his kiss was somewhat harsh— yet passionate— he kissed you as if he was trying to devour you whole. it was shocking, yet so like him.
his hand moved to the back of your head to keep you in place and move you about as he liked as he deepened the kiss. you weren’t new to this, but you were most definitely inexperienced. yet, the feeling of blade surrounding you as he took your lips over and over again had you easing into it naturally.
“blade..! wait..!!” you tried to pull away, in desperate need of air. blade couldn’t bother to listen, you’ve kept him waiting for way too long, he wasn’t taking his precious time with you for granted. he’d only grant you a second of reprieve before he was nibbling on your lips once more. your knuckles were paling due to your harsh grip on his clothes.
“no way..” he muttered between kisses, harsh grip on your face. “you avoided me, so now i’m getting my compensation.”
the kiss lasted for a little longer, becoming a little too heated for your liking. blade’s tongue swiped across your lips and you squeaked. he finally pulled away, but not before biting your bottom lip. you gasped in surprise, and he watched as you tried your best to catch your breath. his eyes were full of adoration as he spoke, “i’m a free man now, so i can visit you whenever i please. keep your door unlocked.” he gave you one last peck on the lips before diving after kafka.
“n..no way..” you brought your fingers to your flushed, swollen lips. “i cant believe.. i actually kissed him..”
Tumblr media
you crossed your arms in frustration, looking at the hologram of jing yuan.
“you knew didn’t you?”
he could only smirk softly. “my subordinates told me he wouldn’t shut up about you, plus whenever i even said the word ‘stellaron’ you would jump. you’re a horrible liar.”
“if you knew… why didn’t you do anything? i almost kissed a former criminal, you know?”
“he’s no longer a criminal now, since we’re aware his goals don’t clash with ours. also what do you mean ‘almost’? seems like you kissed him to me… was he trying to eat you?” jing yuan asked innocently, even though you both knew he was trying to rile you up. good for him, because fortunately, it worked.
“s-shut your goddamn mouth!” you swiped a hand over your lips, your other fist balled up in anger. “when i see you in person i’m gonna fucking strangle you!”

title: when the moon descends
pairing(s): jing yuan, reader
characters: jing yuan, reader, fu xuan, yanqing
word count: 4.4k
synopsis: in the midst of his daily routine, jing yuan finds solace and delight in the presence of a certain individual who never fails to brighten his morning.
Tumblr media
As the first rays of the sun creep into his chambers like tendrils of light, Jing Yuan feels as if he's being beckoned by a siren's call to stay in the comfort of his bed. The weight of his responsibilities as the Luofu General bears down upon his chest, compelling him to evade the challenges of the forthcoming day. However, he understands that yielding to such temptation is not an option, for the affairs of the Xianzhou Luofu demands his undivided attention and his subordinates depend on him to steer them through the tumultuous waters. So, with great effort, Jing Yuan shakes off the heavy cloak of lethargy and begins his day.
Jing Yuan acknowledges that there have been instances in which he has entrusted some of his obligations to the Master Diviner, Fu Xuan. But he knows that he can't rely solely on her, for there are still other pressing matters that require his attention. Though discreetly.
It's like a delicate balance, trying to delegate tasks to others while also shouldering his own share of responsibilities. Despite the weight that comes with it, Jing Yuan knows that it's all part of being a leader—the ability to juggle multiple tasks and make the tough decisions that can impact the lives of many.
Although Jing Yuan is tempted to stay in bed all day, the sheer amount of paperwork on his office desk is urging him to begin his day. It is imperative that he completes those towering documents as soon as possible, not only to free up his leisure time, but also because they contain crucial information that requires his attention. The requests and reports from various commissions must be addressed promptly by the General.
Who knows, maybe amongst these papers lies something that will pique his interest and provide a welcome distraction from his monotonous routine.
Jing Yuan starts his day with a heavy heart, knowing that his responsibilities as a General would be demanding, but he continues to walk with a purpose.
As he traverses the bustling streets of Luofu, people pay their respects to him, bowing in reverence to his position. His subordinates, with their eyes locked on their tasks, take a moment to acknowledge their General's presence and extend their greetings. The aura around him demands respect and deference, marking him as a man of great authority and responsibility.
To Jing Yuan, his routine was as steady as the flow of the river, never faltering or swaying. The daily tasks and responsibilities that came with his position were second nature to him, like a well-oiled machine that worked without a hitch. The only thing that could disrupt the serene pattern of his life was a crisis that threatened the peace and stability of Xianzhou Luofu. In such dire circumstances, Jing Yuan would act with urgency, convening a meeting of the commission heads to ensure the safety of the people he swore to protect.
As he enters his office, Jing Yuan's eyes are immediately drawn to the pile of papers resting atop his desk, a sight that never fails to elicit a deep sigh of weariness from the Xianzhou General. It is a task that he cannot avoid, no matter how much he wishes to do so, an inescapable responsibility that weighs heavily on the shoulders of the wise and valiant leader of Luofu.
A defeated scoff escapes his lips as he trudges towards his desk, mentally preparing himself for the monotonous task that has become his daily routine.
Jing Yuan peruses through the stack of papers, carefully analyzing each document before signing off on the ones he approves of, he separates them into two piles–one for those that require immediate attention, and the other for those that need further work.
As Jing Yuan's eyes dart back and forth across the pages, a sudden knock at his door jolts him out of his concentration like a bolt of lightning. And then, he hears the sound of a voice that is as soothing and sweet as honey, a voice that always makes his heart skip a beat with anticipation. In an instant, his eyes light up like stars in the sky, sparkling with excitement at the prospect of seeing the owner of that enchanting voice.
Because it is none other than his most favorite being. (Name).
Jing Yuan grants you permission to enter, his gaze fixated on the door as he waits for your arrival with the eagerness of a child anticipating their turn on the playground. When the door creaks open, his eyes are immediately drawn to your radiant face, despite the pile of documents clutched in your arms. The General pays no attention to the paperwork, his entire focus directed solely at the sight of your smile directed towards him. To him, nothing else holds as much importance as you, his beloved partner, who never fails to bring a smile to his face and ease his worries.
"Good morning, General," you address with a courteous bow, paying respect to the esteemed leader of Luofu.
The General gazes at you with his customary smile, despite having previously expressed his desire for you to address him by name in private. Yet, you persist with your habit of addressing him with formality, even in the privacy of his office.
Jing Yuan comprehends your predicament fully. Your clandestine affair is something that must remain a secret from the rest of the Xianzhou, and given that you are under his command, he acknowledges the importance of maintaining a professional demeanor.
At first, Jing Yuan was puzzled as to why you wanted your relationship with him to be kept under wraps, but after learning that you were not yet prepared to reveal your relationship to the natives of Xianzhou Luofu, he acquiesces to your request. Your thoughts and emotions matter to him, and he respects your decision. He'll patiently wait for the day when you feel comfortable enough to share your romance with everyone.
Jing Yuan understands the gravity of the situation, and he doesn't want to put any undue pressure on you. He knows that if your relationship is made public, it will draw the attention of many, and it will become a hot topic of discussion amongst the citizens.
Being the honorable and respectable General of Xianzhou Luofu, he is aware that his actions are under constant scrutiny, and any news of his personal life could easily become tomorrow's headline.
Therefore, he doesn't want to risk ruining the comforting and peaceful company he already had with you. No.
Being with you brings Jing Yuan a sense of serenity that he seldom experiences amidst the chaos of his duties as a general. You are his sanctuary, a tranquil harbor where he can dock his restless heart. Listening to your voice and watching the subtle movements of your lips as you speak is akin to watching a mesmerizing dance. Your eyes, like two shining stars, holding his gaze in a trance, and he finds himself lost in the vastness of their beauty. In your company, he is content to forget the world and the worries that come with it.
Despite his reputation for being a quick dozer, Jing Yuan never wants to miss a moment of being with you and hearing about your day. He knows that being in your company is a rare and precious indulgence, like savoring a delectable treat that is too fleeting and too limited.
Although he's constrained by the secrecy of your relationship, Jing Yuan remains hopeful for a time when he can freely spend his days with you without fear of being exposed. He yearns for the day when he can finally engage in all the activities he's been dreaming of without any reservations. He's optimistic that this day will come, and until then, he will cherish every moment he gets to spend with you in private, relishing the comfort and safety that your company provides.
The prospect of that day fills him with immense anticipation, and he longs for it to arrive.
“Here are the reports of the Sky-Faring commission, General.” You hand over the reports to Jing Yuan, not daring to meet his intense gaze.
His amber eyes seem to penetrate through your very being, leaving you feeling exposed and vulnerable. It's as if he's peering into the depths of your soul, examining every thought and emotion. You can't help but feel uneasy under his watchful stare. After all, it's Jing Yuan, the highly respected General of the Luofu Cloud Knights, and his imposing presence is impossible to ignore. Despite being his secret lover, you still feel conscious of your every move and appearance in his presence.
“(Name), come here,” Jing Yuan utters in a gentle tone, but the authoritative edge in his voice is unmistakable.
At the sound of Jing Yuan's voice, you are inexorably pulled towards him like a moth to a flame. The gentle curve of his lips and the tender warmth in his amber gaze resonate with you, enveloping you in a comforting cocoon of affection. It's almost as though he has woven a spell that ensnares your every movement, compelling you to draw near to him with a sense of captivation and awe. His commanding presence is both palpable and irresistible, and you find yourself drawn to him without any conscious effort.
You glide over to Jing Yuan, and it prompts him to swivel his body to face you. He's perched on his chair, and as he gazes up at you, you catch his amber eyes with your own.
Upon locking gazes with you, Jing Yuan experiences a surge of emotions that swiftly courses through his being, evoking the rapid flutters of a hummingbird's wings in his chest. He finds himself captivated by the sight of you, who exudes an aura of luminosity and grace that enraptured his senses. Even in the absence of the sun's warmth, you shine like a celestial body, illuminating his world and imbuing it with a sense of wonder and admiration. As he continues to gaze upon you, his affection for you only grows stronger, as he is powerless to resist the alluring force of your magnetic pull.
In his subliminal state, he extends his hand to grasp your hands in his sizable ones, sensing the heat emanating from your palms, and he relishes the sensation of it.
In this very moment, as Jing Yuan finally takes hold of your hands, he begins to caress your knuckles with his thumbs in the most gentle and soothing way possible, treating them as if they were a delicate and fragile crystal that he is afraid of damaging. As he continues to rub, his fingers slide effortlessly in between yours, elegantly interlacing and entwining them together. The unexpected tenderness of his touch causes a warm blush to spread across your cheeks, taking you by surprise, yet you remain motionless, as if tamed by his presence. Although he can feel the faint tremble in your hands, he is grateful that you do not pull away, and he continues to hold onto you, cherishing this rare moment of intimacy.
As he tried to contain his amusement, a small, almost imperceptible chuckle escaped from Jing Yuan's lips, betraying his attempt at composure.
Jing Yuan couldn't resist the urge to tease you a bit and asked, "Are you feeling nervous?"
He felt a subtle tremor in your hand, signaling him that you were indeed feeling apprehensive. The sight of your sudden reaction elicited a sense of amusement from within him, causing the corners of his lips to stretch into a small, yet visible grin. However, his amusement was short-lived, for he soon sensed that you had regained your composure and settled into a state of calmness.
"General, I suggest you should release me. It would not be ideal for us to be seen in this manner," you calmly remind, conscious of the potential consequences of being caught in such a compromising position. However, you are unable to deceive the sharp eyes of Jing Yuan, who can sense the underlying emotions beneath your composed exterior.
"Let them see it." You became aware of Jing Yuan's remark, and let out a soft gasp at his boldness.
Even though he had previously expressed his intention to honor your wishes and wait for you, he spoke truthfully at that moment. It was of no consequence to him if anyone were to witness your intimate exchange, as he desired for everyone to acknowledge that you were solely his.
"General—"
"Jing Yuan," he interjects, longing for the sound of his name on your lips.
"But we're—" again with him interrupting you.
"I have but one desire, (Name), and that is to hear you speak my name," Jing Yuan implores with a subtle plea, his grip on your hands tight as he urges you to comply with his request. His eyes seem to gleam under the sun's rays, almost as if they were hypnotic, coaxing you to surrender to him.
Your lips tighten into a firm line, unwilling to yield to Jing Yuan's indolence yet determined nature. It's one of his many qualities that leaves you with no choice but to relent and give in to his wishes.
Therefore, you relinquish, your shoulders dropping in resignation as you release a defeated sigh.
"Jing Yuan," you utter, finally giving in to his request. He couldn't hide his delight upon hearing his name from your lips. Even if it may seem insignificant to others, it means the world to the General, enough to brighten his mood.
"Very well," he replies with a subtle nod. "I earnestly request that you continue to address me by my name when we are in private. It's not desirable for me to feel a sense of separation from you due to our current circumstances. Do you comprehend my sentiments, (Name)?"
A smile graces Jing Yuan's face as his gaze lingers on you, and you take a brief moment to observe him before answering.
"I understand, but we must stay vigilant. There are prying eyes everywhere you go. I do not wish to bring any more difficulties upon you," you admit bashfully, averting your eyes from his.
Jing Yuan squeezes his grip on you and speaks in a soft tone, "Look at me, (Name)." He waits until he has your full attention. "I want you to understand that if it concerns you, it is not a burden to me. You hold great significance in my life, and I assure you that any inconvenience you may cause is of no concern. In fact, I would be delighted if you require my assistance.”
Jing Yuan's voice is gentle, reminiscent of the gentle caress of fluffy clouds on a bright summer day. He doesn't spell it out, but you can tell he's trying to assuage your worries in his own unique way. His words were already indicative of his intent, and although you have conflicting emotions, they dissipated when Jing Yuan delivered his heartfelt speech.
Your countenance brightens up as you acknowledge Jing Yuan's words with a smile that reaches your eyes, revealing the depth of your gratitude towards him. The General doesn't miss the tenderness in your look, and it stirs a fluttering sensation in his chest that he can't ignore. In response, he mirrors your expression of fondness, beaming with an equal measure of warmth and affection.
Jing Yuan yields to the irresistible impulse to draw you closer, settling you onto his lap, which catches you by surprise and causes your heart to race uncontrollably.
He envelops you in his embrace, his arms delicately encircling your waist, and he presses his nose into your hair, savoring the captivating fragrance of your shampoo that has grown to be his familiar fixation. It is a scent that he will always connect with you, a fragrance that will remain etched in his memory.
"Jing Yuan," you stutter, aware of the blush that suffuses your cheeks from both embarrassment and your close proximity. "Your actions could potentially expose us to being caught by someone."
Jing Yuan is acutely aware of your embarrassment, even without visually confirming it. Despite having shared moments of intimacy in private settings, you still appear unaccustomed to his unpredictable yet affectionate gestures. He finds it perplexing that you are still taken aback, given the likelihood of more instances like this in the future.
He contemplates whether he should demonstrate more of these affectionate actions in the hopes that you'll become more accustomed to such intimacy.
"I have already made myself clear, have I not? Let them see," he declares, as he maintains his embrace and presses his face onto your head. His unwavering action conveys his steadfast resolve to keep you close, unmindful of any prying eyes or onlookers that may come.
“You’re being overbearing, Jing Yuan.” You deliver the comment with a hint of amusement, making him laugh knowing full well that he can sense your eyes rolling in exasperation.
You feel his arms tightening around you, his hold on you growing firmer. "Worry not, no one may enter my office without my permission," he reassures you, though he quickly follows up with a caveat. "With the exception of my retainer, Yanqing, I'm afraid."
You let out a sigh and attempt to shift your position to release yourself from Jing Yuan's hold. Unfortunately, his embrace on you only grows stronger, making it impossible for you to escape his grasp.
Your tone is assertive as you convey your concerns to Jing Yuan. "I suggest it would be appropriate if you release me now. Yanqing could walk in and catch us in this position. Furthermore, Lady Yukong has a meeting scheduled shortly, and my attendance is necessary," you state, underscoring the importance of the matter.
Jing Yuan contemplates whether he should accede to your request or not. However, he comprehends that it would not be prudent to cause you any vexation on account of his own indulgence, especially given that you both have obligations to attend to. Despite the limited time you share, he remains convinced that there will be future opportunities where he can have you as he desires.
"Would it be permissible to remain in this embrace for a mere five minutes?" Jing Yuan inquires, his tone low but exhibiting a gentle and almost imploring quality.
When Jing Yuan receives a nod of your head in response, a smile spreads across his face. He holds onto you tightly, savoring every moment he has left to spend with you. He takes comfort in knowing that you will see each other again later.
As the minutes ticked by, Jing Yuan adhered to his promise and reluctantly let go of you, the loss of your warmth and proximity leaving an ache in his chest. You stood up swiftly, smoothing out your attire and trying to regain your composure. Jing Yuan watched you intently, taking in every detail of your movement and memorizing the way you looked in that moment. As you turned to face him, he remained silent, his gaze fixed solely on you.
With a sense of remorse and a weight on your heart, you implore Jing Yuan. "I know our situation is hard, but please bear it for a little longer."
You are aware that he has no reservations about disclosing your relationship, but you are hesitant due to the potential negative ramifications that it may bring. The prospect of being scrutinized and shunned by others because of your association with the General preoccupies your thoughts and causes you to be ill-equipped to handle the aftermath of a public announcement.
Jing Yuan is not oblivious to your troubled expression as he observes you closely. The way you look down at your feet and clench your fists, he already knows what is weighing on your mind. It is the same expression you wear whenever your secretive relationship becomes a topic of discussion. He truly understands your worries and concerns. Therefore, the only recourse Jing Yuan can offer to alleviate your distress is to offer comfort and assurance. He assures you that he does not object to waiting until such time that you are ready to divulge your relationship to the public, and that he will be there for you every step of the way. In his own inimitable way, he consoles you until your concerns are dispelled. Because that is the only thing he can do for you at this moment.
"(Name)." Jing Yuan once again calls your name and it didn't take him a second to gain your heed. "Will you lean in?"
You were confused by Jing Yuan's sudden request, but without hesitation, you leaned in towards him. Sensing his hand on the back of your head, you felt a rush of emotions. As he pulled you closer to him, your eyes widened in anticipation of what was to come. Jing Yuan's lips landed gently on top of your head, eliciting a tingly sensation that traveled down to your fingertips and stirred butterflies in your stomach. The contact of his lips on your head lingered for a moment briefly before he drew away. His lips curved into a smile as he gazed at your blushing cheeks and slightly parted lips as you looked into each other’s eyes.
Jing Yuan was greatly amused by your reaction, which was one of the many reasons why he took pleasure in teasing you. Your reactions were absolutely priceless, and he simply couldn't get enough of them. It only served to fuel his desire to tease you even further whenever he saw you react in such a way.
Indeed, he is satisfied.
"It would be best if you left now," he suggested, his hand tenderly resting on your head as he gave it a reassuring pat. "I understand that you have other pressing matters to attend to, and I wouldn't want to keep you from them," he explained, his eyes reflecting a blend of melancholy and solicitude. "However, please know that should you ever require any assistance, my door will always be open to you," he offered, his tone composed and reassuring.
As you blink, you snap out of your stupor and quickly straighten your posture. The blush on your face remains, a lingering effect of the surprise that Jing Yuan had given you. It was astounding how effortlessly he could catch you off guard, leaving you constantly on edge, unsure of what he might do next.
He is indeed a mysterious man.
"Thank you, Jing Yuan. I appreciate your kind offer," you reply, clearing your throat in an attempt to compose yourself. "I shall keep that in mind. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must take my leave."
You cast a quick glance at Jing Yuan, and your eyes catch him gazing at you with such tenderness that it leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy inside. It was a look that he always gave you, even from afar, and it never failed to make your heart melt.
Jing Yuan observes you quietly as you collect yourself to leave his room. He feels a sense of disappointment knowing that you will soon be gone and that he will be left alone in his spacious office. However, he understands the urgency of your matters with the Sky-Faring commission and would not want to be the cause of your tardiness to a meeting that is soon to be held. It would be unwise of him to delay you, even if he wished otherwise.
As Jing Yuan is lost in thought, he suddenly feels a cool sensation on his forehead, interrupting his musings. He soon realizes that you had surprised him with a kiss on the forehead without any prior warning, making his body stiffen unwillingly.
Jing Yuan was astonished yet pleased by your unexpected display of affection. He had not anticipated such a gesture, but it was one that he valued greatly. His body soon relaxes and the warmth in his heart swelled as he closed his eyes, basking in the moment and enjoying the sensation of your touch.
It was a moment that he wished could last indefinitely.
However, the moment of intimacy between you and Jing Yuan came to an end as you pulled away from him. He couldn't help but feel a sense of disappointment as the warmth and tenderness he felt instantly dissipated. Jing Yuan adjusted his posture, backing away slightly as he looked at you. He was a bit surprised by the intensity of your gaze, which conveyed a deep admiration and affection that was reserved only for him. This was a look that had the power to make him feel weak, but he always put up a tough front and never revealed his vulnerability to you.
If only you are aware how much you affected him this much. Will you still be able to grant him more, or minimize because of embarrassment? He does not know. But he hopes it will be the former.
"I will take my leave now as I may be late," you say in a hurry. Jing Yuan simply waves a dismissive hand, giving you permission to attend to your duties.
"Good luck with your work," he said with a smile, and you nodded in response.
As you turn to leave Jing Yuan's office, you pause and take one last glance at Jing Yuan, who's comfortably sitting in his seat as he watches you.
You lick your lips and convey the words that you wanted to say. "I'll see you later."
With a final smile, you exit the room and make your way towards the Helm Master who was waiting for you.
Once you are no longer in his office, Jing Yuan couldn't help but smile as he reflected on the brief encounter you had just shared. The sensation of your lips on his forehead is still palpable, like a vivid painting on a canvas. The warmth of your touch lingers, leaving an indelible impression on his skin.
The encounter bestowed upon Jing Yuan gives him a profound sense of contentment and exhilaration, stirring within him a delightful mixture of emotions. The satisfaction he derived from that fleeting interaction proved to be truly intoxicating, leaving him with an insatiable yearning for more. His craving persisted, unquenched by the mere taste of that moment.
Jing Yuan redirects his focus to the documents before him, delicately resting his chin on his palm. The faint smirk that creeps his face persists as though it was a lasting imprint on his features.
How can he not be pleased when his morning was a very welcoming indulgence he had? It indeed gave him the satisfaction that he needs.
If you consistently become the first person he encounters and shower him with your affection every time the moon descends, his mornings will no longer be laden with dreariness as they were originally destined to be.
Jing Yuan will perpetually welcome anything and everything as long as it involves you.

Reacting to you playing otome games
characters: dan heng and jing yuan
tw: none except- maybe not proof read?
a/n: i guess we can officially say i'm obsessed with hsr now. my brain has been annoying me to write something for these two boys, and... i guess here we are.
Tumblr media
Dan Heng
From all the world-saving and stellaron crisis, Dan Heng wasn’t able to spend much time with you, much to his dismay. Yes, he’d share a few text messages once in a while or even call each other, but those days were getting rarer as his work became even more serious.
On one of those rare calls, he found out that you took on a new interest. “Otome games”, or so they were called. He had little knowledge about it other than knowing that it was a type of dating simulation.
He had no issues with you and your new obsession after all, it’s just a game, and you were having fun!
Or so he thought until your love with these otome games became a little too much to the point of interfering with HIS love life. Why is his cuddle time with you being taken away by some- chunk of hot pixels? Instead of your hands wrapping around his waist, they now held your phone as you giggled at that….undeniable hot chunk of pixels. (According to you, it looked a lot like him and had a similar vibe)
You even had alarms set for your daily activities for these games, which had you scrambling for your phone; all the time. Your eyes would light up at whatever dialogues your "husbando" would say.
Internally he would be screaming; "WHY WON'T YOU LOOK AT ME THE WAY YOU LOOK AT THOSE DARN 2D MEN"
Enough was enough! Dan Heng realised that at this rate, he would be ousted from being your boyfriend by a fictional character!
Soon enough, that's how you found yourself on the floor, with Dan Heng behind you, caging you between his arms.
Dan Heng grumbled, "It's my turn now. Pay attention to me," while avoiding direct eye contact with you.
"Oh no, have I made my boyfriend feel neglected? I'm sorry babe!" You turned to give a reassuring pat on his head, then jokingly added, "Though I suppose... You will need to learn how to share me from now on."
You receive a smack on the head at that
Tumblr media
Jing Yuan
Lately, he had noticed a hype around Luofu, which he soon found out, thanks to Yanqing. According to the young boy, certain “otome games” were becoming quite popular amongst the newer generation. Something about conversing with “hot 2D men with crazy backstories” made them feel “ooh la la”. Or something along those lines, Yanqing’s exact words, not his.
“It’s actually super fun! Would you like to play as well? You get daily 5 tickets in a day, so it keeps you on your toes. And if I'm not wrong, there's even a character who resembles you, general!”
Jing Yuan declined and suggested the young lad seek someone else for his otome games, as he deemed himself too old and out of touch for such interests. He glanced up from his paperwork to find the boy giving him a disappointed look before quickly running off.
A few days after that incident, you had also fallen prey to these games, he figured as Jing Yuan listened to you talk excitedly about a "mysterious therapist with silver hair" from a newly released game, and how the character was both sweet and suspicious.
He was glad that you were enjoying yourself. Sometimes, it can be challenging to discover new interests as we grow older. At least, that was how Jing Yuan personally felt.
As long as no harm was done, all is good!
Harm was indeed done. A lot in fact
He eventually discovered that these "ikemen" characters on your phone were taking his rightful place as your boyfriend.
You no longer played with his hair or let him sleep on your lap… All these activities were taken away from him as if snatching candy from a baby.
It had only been a week into your... newfound obsession. You even bought a bunch of “Visual Novels” and spent many hours holed up in your room, and staying awake late into the night.
When he got concerened as asked for you to come to bed, all he'd get was: "Just five more minutes Jun-Jun! I need to complete this chapter, I swear I'll be there in five minutes, trust me."
Hmmm, nope, trust shattered and heart also shattered. Poor Jun-Jun.
It really made him feel sad, Jing Yuan’s signature :3 face soon turned :( which everyone noticed, it was hard not to. Even you thought his new behaviour to be strange and confronted him.
“My dear, I don’t mind you having hobbies, but please, give equal love and attention to your partner and not just those fictional “silver haired therapist” of yours.” Jing Yuan pleaded you with those puppy dog eyes.
“You should have said so from the beginning! I’ll tone my playing down a little. I didn’t mean to make you feel lonely…” You felt guilty and gave him a big warm hug, much to Jing Yuan’s pleasure.
“....How about a compromise?Let's both play these games together. Pretty please? At least once? You won't regret it! We can add each other as friends.”
He gave in.
And now he’s obsessed with it.
Much more than you.
