Seven Sisters from Cuckmere Head. Fulfilled an ambition today. Went to Cuckmere and walked above the fabulous meandering estuary then headed up to take this shot. Probably one of the most famous views in the UK. I was inspired to get into using Fujifilm cameras by a YouTube video review of the #fujixpro1 by @chris_orange_photography . My son @flinneyjcl and I walked the same path. I really wanted to get over to the other side of the estuary to take this image. ~21/12/2022~ Super frazzled day! Usually work quietens down in the week leading up to Christmas, but it’s been quite the opposite this year. Had a virtual appointment in the morning which ran over slightly. Then straight into team meeting - where lots of other people said they were still very busy. I did stop for lunch, but quite minimally so felt like I was working flat out all day, mainly in front of the screen. Wasn’t as concise with my notewriting as I’d like to be and had a lot of other admin tasks to get done before the Christmas break. Had a meeting with a colleague in the afternoon - had planned to get out for a walk after that but didn’t make it out til after I’d finished work and had dinner - so walk in the dark it was, but made a bit better by the Christmas lights on the houses! ~19/12/2022~ Another sleepy start as Christmas card writing took my well into the night - I really hate how things like that can become a chore. I finished the main cards while H cleaned, including the one to my dad, which I always leave til last, even though it’s one of the hardest to write :/ We then went on a mission to deliver the local cards to people’s door steps, then to the quietest post office we could find to post the remaining cards - have accepted they will most likely not arrive by Christmas but hey ho. We then headed to Burgess Hill, got a quick drive thru lunch, then went to the cinema to watch Matilda The Musical - it got off to not so great a start as there was issues with a speaker, then these young lads sat at the front who were making a racket, and who were most likely the source of the issue with the screen and speakers had to be thrown out of the cinema before they’d start the film - they only looked about 10 or 11. Once it got started it was fairly good but didn’t love it - we loved the book and film so much when we were little that it upset us that some things were different from the original story. When we got home, originally we were supposed to be seeing AKA later in the afternoon, but she cancelled as had gone home sick - we might be seeing her Thursday after therapy. Right. I did a thing. This is the first time I’ve merged the sky and the foreground of two photos I’ve taken. It looks fucking appalling on my laptop screen and it doesn’t look much better on my phone. You can clearly see the halo around the cliff where I buggered up the mask because apparently a three year old can colour in the lines better than I can. I didn’t even like the rest of it much, I even used Instagram’s own tweaking tools to dick around with it a bit more. But there you go. Learning.
