How Did You Build Your MC?
I do not know if this has been done yet or not but I want to do this because the process of creating my MC is messy 🤣
The checklist for your MC is below if anyone is interested in doing this!
Anyone who wants to tag me in this is welcomed! I would love to see the process of how your magical child is born!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Name
Originally, Aurora's full name was supposedly to be Amethyst Crystalbloom. But somehow the game does not allow the name Amethyst(??) and I straight up legit googled 'Magical Girl Names' and I picked up Aurora for multiple reasons.
1. I really like Aurora Borealis. I wish I could see it someday.
2. Princess Aurora from Sleeping Beauty is also really pretty and I love the way her hair moves
3. Aurora is just generally a pretty name and I feel like anyone with the name Aurora is just beautiful
4. One of my fav singers is Aurora Aksnes
Idk why I changed Crystalbloom to Crystaldream. I was really sticking it to fantasy names 😭
Face
Aurora's face is based on model number 3. I also put freckles on her because as a southeast asian girl, I love seeing them on skin, I personally think they are lovely!
Later on, I added mods (I wish I remember what the mods are) and the makeup I put on Aurora is more to a pinkish natural tone because I think it works best on her skintone.
Edited :
I forgot to add up eyes oops but anyways I chose minty blue eyes for Aurora because it just looks good with her colour palette.
Hair
Aurora's hair used to be light pink in colour because I just love pink and the hairstyle I chose for her was the big bun with the bangs(?) upfront. But then I quickly realised that light pink doesn't look good with her skintone.
I tried to put blue to match her house but I don't like it as well.
So, after having an argument with myself to make it pink or make it blue (I hope you get the reference), I went with a purplish colour!
Also before using mods, Aurora’s default hair was the bangs with the single long braid at the back. Now she has the long wavy hair from the Victorian hair pack mods!
Voice
Since Aurora looks like the fairytale princess she is, I went with the softest voice possible aka the voice on the furthest right one.
The voice is also inspired by Aurora Aksnes' voice because it's just so angelic. I just wanted Aurora to be a fierce fighter with the most princess features possible🤣
Hogwarts House
Aurora’s Hogwarts house is the same as mine which is Ravenclaw 💙🦅 Nothing much to say about this, she's my first MC so it's fitting that I make one with the same house as me.
Bonus : Stream AURORA to get clear skin, listening to Queendom in 2018 got me going like
Tumblr media
The List :
Name
Face
Hair
Voice
Hogwarts House

Some thoughts on my last Gamefly rental, New Pokemon Snap.
Tumblr media
Back when this was announced, I immediately got reminded of the first Pokemon Snap photo stations that Blockbuster had at the time. Feels like so long ago, with only one of the stores still operating.
Like the first game, you still travel on a set path and look around to take pictures, which get scored at the end, and have a few tools to use as the game progresses, but the game is much longer than the first, and with new stuff to do.
Several of the tools, as well as abilities for your camera/the NEO-ONE, to help you get better photos and interact with the Pokemon you see that gradually unlock are:
Fluffruits to toss, which can bonk Pokemon or try and lure them(there’s no Pester Balls like in the first game).
Illumina Orbs which can cause different reactions in Pokemon and light up Crystalbloom Flowers, which can also do the same, as well as causing effects in the nearby environment.
A Scanner that can identify parts of the map, such as where Pokemon might be or ancient ruins and identify alternate routes to take in a course
A Melody to play that can wake up some sleeping Pokemon, or cause other reactions such as dancing
A Turbo option to speed up the NEO-ONE.
I wish there was an option for the ZERO-ONE to be able to break or slow down. I think it does go slower while zooming in or aiming behind the set path, and completely stops if a Pokemon is blocking the way, but a manual option would be nice.
The way photos are rated is different in this compared to the first game. You still pick just one photo per Pokemon, but there’s also Star Ranks for each, 1-4, and they can each be ranked separately from Bronze to Platinum. They seem to be based on what actions the Pokemon are doing in the picture, with 4 Star ones being a unique one, such as Caterpie spinning around while spraying silk into the air, or Lapras singing with another Lapras. There’s usually some hints on how to do these, but some can be pretty obtuse, and may need luck or a guide.
Getting pictures of lit-up Crystalbloom flowers and the several Ancient Ruins across the game also fills out the Photodex, and the former at least is required to advance the story, though there’s no score for getting them.
Each area you go to has a ‘Research Level’ that you gain experience for as you take more and better pictures. Pokemon that appear and events that can happen change as the level increases, and sometimes there’s slight changes between visits on the same Research Level, so it’s good to try and go back through each area several times and at different Research Levels  to try and find everything(when selecting an area to go to or picking Retry after a run, you can choose which Research Level it’ll be at).
Aside from Research levels, several courses have day and night(evening in one case) versions, with different Pokemon and events in them, and most have Alternate Routes you can take by Scanning at the right part and holding X over the sign that pops up to switch routes(some need to be found via doing certain actions, and some Alternate Routes can even have another one to to find instead of going back to the main route).
A nice change of pace is that one ‘course’ is a walkaround outside the main lab of the game that has a good amount of Pokemon and events to see. There’s only a Day version and no alternate paths(though Research Level 2 has you do the course from a different starting point), .
As the game progresses, you’ll find several Illumina Points that have one main ‘Illumina Pokemon’ to take pictures of, each with a strategy to be able to use Illumina Orbs to have them gain a unique pattern on them and get their higher ranked pictures(though the first is easy and probably meant as a warm up and big moment, the rest won’t be so simple). The Illumina Points have Research Levels, too, though the first level up only takes 1 exp. At first, only the Illumina Pokemon will be there, but more Pokemon will appear in the areas on higher levels, sometimes hidden.
One of the Illumina Points takes some extra work to find, needing you to use Illumina Orbs on a Clawitzer at the start of Lental Seafloor - Undersea at Research Level 2, then Scan for the alternate path, and take it until you end up deep underwater.
A new addition to this game from the first are ‘Requests’, which require you to get a specific photo of Pokemon doing certain actions, some of which will probably lead to 4-Star photos. You only get decals for decorating photos from these, and not all of them, but they’re fun to do. I did a decent amount, though not all of them. There’s hints on how to get them, though you may need a guide for some.
I think this is the only/one of the few Pokemon games that has fully voiced acted cutscenes in it, and there’s a few of them. Outside of cutscenes, there’ll also be fully voiced lines during courses, for example when you start a new area or find an alternate route. Aside from those, there’ll just be voice clips for non-cutscene parts with dialogue. I think they did a good job with these, and hope they do it again.
It was nice to see Todd from the first game appear in this, too, all grown up now, and as a professional photographer.
With several generations of Pokemon between the first game and this one, there’s many more to see, even if it’s only 234(with free updates), plus form changes/regional forms, out of the 900+(not counting what’ll be in Scarlet and Violet). Some Pokemon, like a couple Legendries, also only appear after finishing the main story, as well.
It was good to revisit this type of gameplay after so long. Maybe after a few more Pokemon generations, we’ll get another sequel.
Next game being sent is: The MISSING: J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories

Pokémon Snap forest *notes*
So the season depends on espeon in the first section. As far as I can tell you can't change the season for the second section...
——
SUMMER
——
If you go straight and throw an orb at espeon you go to summer. Waiting too long to throw the orb will cause her to run away.
Summer has an area with lots of pancham. A shiftry is coaching one to the left as it hit trees lol
If you throw apples to the bulbasaur on the left a bit farther up, they’ll take their places on the waterfall with the third one for a cute pic.
Leading the pancham and bulbasaur to the river will make them splash and play and be really cute :D
Summer will make spring deerling appear for rescuing
***REQUEST***
Throw an orb at the pancham, bulbasaur, and drampa on the right that are across from the bulbasaur waterfall. Proceed through the spooky forest and through the fog alternate route. As you head in, drampa will float through with a bulbasaur and pancham riding him. Take pictures to complete this request! I submitted for all 3 Pokémon but the one that worked was focused on pancham and had all 3 Pokémon visible in the shot. My other 2 submissions did not have all 3 visible so it may work for the others too as long as everyone is visible.
This also sets you up for another request…
***REQUEST***
Throw an orb at the pancham, bulbasaur, and drampa on the right that are across from the bulbasaur waterfall. Proceed through the spooky forest and through the fog alternate route. As you head in, drampa will float through with a bulbasaur and pancham riding him. Once you round the corner, they will all be in the nook. Throw apples at pancham and bulbasaur to get them to hide from you and drampa will get red eyes. Take a picture complete his request! (If you miss his first freak out, you can keep throwing things to make him do it again)
***REQUEST***
***REQUEST***
Just past the waterfall, throw apples at the unfezant in the nest to make her flap her wings and make her eggs visible. Take a pic of this to satisfy the request.
***REQUEST***
——
SUMMER
——
If you go straight and throw an apple NEAR espeon when she's sitting down, you go to spring
***REQUEST***
To your right there’s a kacleon hanging upside down from a tree. Taking a picture of him opens up a request to go take another picture *heavy eye roll*
***REQUEST***
Going through fog has a shiftry. Not sure of significance. He interacts with bulbasaur and lotad in the nook after the deerling field.
deerling shows up for rescue
Don't hit her with an apple though bc she'll run away and the season is randomized
——
If you play a tune before the floating stone, trevenant will move and let you pass.
——
WINTER
——
Espeon will run in front of you and then if you orb her you go to winter..
*deep breath*
Winter has ninetails and Gardevoir.
As far as I can tell ninetails is somewhat boring. He’s on a cliff to the right about halfway through.
Winter makes summer deerling show up for rescue
Going through the fog causes ninetails to show up on the cliff to the left. Gardevoir will be in front of you by the lotad. She’ll use magic to pick up apples and eat them if you throw them near her. If you orb her she will teleport to the deerling area. She’s sitting on a bench-type area to the right of the crystalbloom. She dances and plays with the deerling but I can’t get her to do anything else?
I’ve gone through a few times without ninetails and Gardevoir showing up in the second area, idk what causes this.
***REQUEST***
As soon as you enter, throw an orb at the Gardevoir to the right. Done correctly, she’ll teleport to a tree branch a little further along. There’s another Gardevoir to your left but she’s unrelated. Orb the one on the branch again and she’ll teleport a little further along in front of ninetails. She’s being really cute with the deerling but ignore that and orb her again. She’ll teleport to the tree ahead of you with the crystalbloom. Hit the crystalbloom and this is where she summons a blizzard and plays with the deerling and twirls :D
***REQUEST***
——
AUTUMN
——
Pass trevenant and throw an apple NEAR her to go to autumn
She only sniffs the apple so it doesn't seem to work for the request.
Autumn causes winter deerling to show up for rescue.
This area has piles of leaves with applin hiding in some of them. I’m pretty sure I’m missing something here but not sure what yet.
Going through fog causes serpentine to be in the nook (she’ll appear at the start of this area to the left on a cliff as well). She appears to be sleeping in the nook and doesn’t respond much but it doesn’t seem to work for the request?
***REQUEST*** (updated)
As you enter, there’s a pile of apples near the base of a tree. If you throw an orb at the pile/applin & turn around and watch, a deerling will try to eat them and an applin will pop out to attack. Take a picture for the applin request
***REQUEST***
***REQUEST***
To save deerling, light the first crystalbloom and wait for her to show up. Light the second one and she’ll follow. There is a third and fourth one in the alley right after, DO NOT light the closest one because she’ll go there and get lost. Light the back one to get her on the back path. You might not see her show up but so far this has been foolproof for me so don’t worry about it. You’ll pass another cliff thing and there’s a crystalbloom in the next alley. Light it as quick as possible. Espeon will hop down. If she’s looking to your right then she’s looking at deerling and all is good. Deerlings parent takes a bit to show up.
***REQUEST***
***REQUEST***
When you go straight in the second area, you’ll see celebi fly past. Orb it before it does its first teleport. Next, under the tree roots is a pile of apples to the right. Toss an apple and celebi will show up to eat it. Toss an orb at it. It’ll teleport to the ruins on the left by the crystalbloom. Orb the crystalbloom and celebi and play music for a couple more celebi to show up. I haven’t gotten a photo to work yet but I’m pretty sure this is the request??? *update* play the melody once they arrive and snap a picture to complete the request!
***REQUEST***
As soon as you enter the second spooky area, there is a sleeping Kacleon to the left on the ground. Toss an orb and take a photo for a 4* photo.

Darlain Photodex Entry 3
“Decided to take a rest and camp out in the park grounds, and Light, did it pay off! Pokemon behave very differently at night, and with the help of some food, I really got some amazing things on camera!
Tumblr media
I was woken up by the the thunderous steps of a Torterra herd, and this mischievous little Scorbunny catching s break on it’s back! I swear the guy was showing off! Torterra, however, seemed deep in sleep, I couldn’t rouse it anymore than Scorbunny here.
Tumblr media
A little buzzing behind my ear and quick reflex scored me this great pick! I think she had mistaken my scarf for a flower, but at least she was happy to see me! She was zipping off to the flowers soon after, always busy, these Combees!
Tumblr media
That Grooky from before nuzzled up against a Torterra  with it’s little Pichu friend! This was incredibly adorable and i’m glad I didn’t wake the little dears. It seems small creatures might flock to Torterras for shelter around here, sleeping around the herds to avoid predation?
Tumblr media
These Caterpie were startled by my movement, hiding themselves behind the park sign, a good idea, I completely missed seeing them. Any birds would be hard pressed for find an angle to see them! I considered myself lucky they didn’t fire a string shot at me, though, would have taken awhile to get all that silk out of my ‘air.
Tumblr media
Finally caught a Hoothoot on camera and I managed to get a very rare shot! Scared the poor thing into revealing it’s other leg, which is usually brought up within its feathers while its roosted. Thankfully it recovered alright!
Tumblr media
“I brought some fluffruit out with me, and laid down some on the trails, see if I could bait some pokemon into the perfect feeding shot. Imagine my surprise when a giant Pincir lumber down the path and helped herself! They always look so angry in the shots i’ve seen of them, so I was excited to get this shot! I wasn’t prepped for what came next, though...
Tumblr media
Right after I headed up the hill to the lake, I heard a bashing sound and I was shocked to see a Heracross had flown in and started attacking the Pincir! I guess it must have noticed the food and flew in, only tosee Pincir had snatched his meal! They’re both pretty hardy pokemon though, so this was more of a show fight!
Tumblr media
The Bidoofs finished their dam! I was even able to walk across it over their fish trap, and this little guy popped up to say hello! I congratulated them on being homeowners, goodness knows i’m a way off from that myself!
Tumblr media
I saw something glowing on the horizon, and was shocked to see two glowing Swanaa flying around the Lake. Professor Mirror was ecstatic to get such a  clear shot of the Illumina phenomenon, he said he’d be including it in his research paper, and that earned myself a spot on the accreditation for it!
Tumblr media
Murkrows are fairly territorial, and somewhat impish creatures, so their first instinct upon seeing me was to try and pick a fight. I had distracted them from something they were looking at behind this Torterra, I wasn’t quite expecting something this amazing, though...
Tumblr media
Sylveon! I’ve never seen on in the wild before, and with good reason. Only a proximity to Fairy pokemon will trigger an evolution in Eevee... I suppose all those Comfeys and the Florges must ‘ave done the trick! I let her sleep, but not without sneaking a shot. My ‘eart is pounding!
Tumblr media
Just as I was heading back down the path, I realized this little guy had been trailing me the whole way. I gave him a little wave, and he scurried to a nearby crystalbloom and something.. strange happened, the plant opened up and illuminated the Scorbunny in blue, and he hopped right on top of the trail sign and started firing off some blaze kicks, only the fire was giving off the same glow! The professor examined this shot with a fine toothed comb, excited at the idea that illumina could effect moves like that.
I think i’m pretty good at this. We’ll be staying in the area for awhile, so i’m gonna try to get some really rare shots over the next few days. Wish me luck!

I went into the new area, the Ruins of Remembrance and there was a bunch of stuff to see. I took pictures of new Pokemon mostly Psychic ones like Natsu and Sigilyph, but there were others like Houndoom. I even saw all of the crystalblooms that were on other islands. I guess I have to find out how to make them glow.

Instafamous Pokemon
Since the advent of the smartphone, many people now consider themselves ‘photographers.’ Even I like to think myself a dab hand at taking photographs. Whether it’s a portrait of a friend or a landscape detailing the natural scenery before. How hard can it be? True, I might not have a ‘proper’ camera with detachable lens and the technical know-how of what anything else means on the mode dial beyond the norm, but I understand basic composition, lighting, subject and background!
Tumblr media
So, when New Pokemon Snap was announced, I was excited. I would show all the doubters that my eye for detail was second to none. The photos that would cover my Facebook page would be so spectacular that everyone on my friend list would encourage me to create an Instagram account. This new game was going to be a breeze, I thought, even though I had never played the original Pokemon Snap (because I was a penniless student back in the good old days).
Caught up with trips and Trails of Cold Steel 3, it was a good deal longer for me to do anything substantial with New Pokemon Snap. I started off by creating my character and began to take photos of the Pokemon roaming around the Lental region. At first, I thought it quite quaint - sitting in a strange pod and taking photos of the Pokemon that dashed to and fro as they interacted in their natural environment.
Once I had unlocked fluffruit, though, was when the real fun started. I’d throw them near Pokemon or at them. Honestly, I was a real terror throughout Florio Nature Park as I booped all the native Pokemon with apples as I hoped to see their reactions.
In time, I unlocked more courses. But in doing so, I also unlocked special requests for certain photos of Pokemon behaviours. And I feel it was this mechanic that eventually took away most of the joy that I had initially felt in playing such a carefree game. No longer could I just observe the Pokemon doing what they wanted out in the world and seeing how they’d react when I used the scanner, threw an Illumina orb or played a pretty little tune for them to listen to. Now, I needed to make sure that they did something specific and wait for the perfect time to snap a shot.
Tumblr media
More gregarious than that were the hidden requirements for certain photos. The wording for the pictures, on occasion, did not match what was actually required. You had to experiment and set up specific situations. It became too much of a puzzle of how to get a Pokemon to do something rather than the simple joy of taking the time to observe the world around me.
This was aggravated by how repetitive most of the game was. You would set off on the same course, with a few changes depending on the level, and be forced to watch everything from start to finish. That was, until Turbo was unlocked late in the game.
I can recall with vivid clarity that I tried a course nigh on ten times, trying to fulfil one requirement of having Pidgeot snatching Magikarp from the water. And always, I’d be just shy of taking the photo that Professor Mirror would acknowledge.
The same could be said of the three friends: Grookey, Scorbunny and Pichu in the flower garden. I’m not sure if it was because I should have kept the camera trained more on Scorbunny when I snapped the shot of the tree surrounding a Crystalbloom, but none of the ones I took were recognised by the game as a completion of the request. And it is such a shame that in order to make sure that I complete these requests, I have to look it up on the internet for their solutions.
My one other nitpick was the fact that most of the photos to be taken of the Illumina Pokemon felt like gimmick boss battles that usually involved chasing them down and pelting them with both fluffruit and illumina orbs. This would have been fine except for the fact that the arc when both items are thrown never sat well with me and I’d inevitably just watch as I missed the Pokemon by mere inches.
Admittedly, once I did manage to get a Pokemon to show off their inner glow, the photos taken were stunning. Steelix, in particular, as it dived towards me to burrow in the ground next to my small NEO-One. Or Milotic as it swam through the water, looking as glamorous as ever.
Tumblr media
The only other issue I encountered with the game was the difference in sound mixing. If it was not a cutscene, the generic dialogue to indicate a character was speaking was far too quiet. Both when it was docked and when my Switch was in handheld mode. The jarring difference in volume meant that I had to keep adjusting it. Perhaps I should have simply played the game without any voices for the human characters.
To cut a long story short, New Pokemon Snap did not immediately click with me as I had hoped. I like to think that I simply wasn’t in the mood for a light-hearted adventure of taking photos of Pokemon. Or maybe it was the fact that I wasn’t patient enough to wait for the perfect moment. Who’s to say?
What I can rightly admit, as one of the world’s leading unpopular opinions, is that I didn’t enjoy it as much as everyone else on the internet seems to have. It was a good distraction for a few good hours - with a mystery to solve about how the illumina Pokemon managed to save the Lental region from a dastardly meteorite two thousands years ago, but it didn’t capture my imagination as much as I had hoped it would.

This is the most amazing perfume I own, and it is probably one of the coolest perfumes in the world.
It is from the brand JILLSTUART, called CrystalBloom Aurora Dream. I got this perfume at Narita Airport when I was having graduation trip in Japan with my best friend, so the perfume itself means a lot. And another reason I think this perfume is so cool and special is it is limited edition for Valentine’s day. When girls know something is limited edition, they just wanna buy it lol.
I was walking around in the duty-free shop and immediately spotted this perfume——cause it‘s so eye-catching. It is just so shiny, attractive and beautiful. It has a flower-like top. The “petals” are made of crystal, and it actually contains a real Swarovski crystal in the middle of the top——I like this part of design the most, and I think that is what make this perfume so popular. The most incredible thing is every crystal petal can reflect different color under different angle, making it look like a Rainbow Flower. Moreover, it has flower relievo in the bottom, which add a sense of elegance to the bottle. And when I sprayed it on my arm, the first thing came into my mind was I must have it——cause the scent instantly blowed me away. No jokes, it smelled like heaven. But since I’m not a expert on perfume, so I find some information on fragrantica.com to give you guys a better idea about the smelled of the amazing perfume: Top notes are peach, pear, pineapple, orange, grapefruit, lemon, snowdrops, edelweiss and sweet pea; middle notes are geranium, peony, freesia, night blooming cereus, jasmine, rose and bellflower; base notes are sandalwood, osmanthus, musk and iris.
I believe this perfume is more suitable for young girls, since it is a soft Floral fragrance. For some reason, it reminds me of Tinker bell——the green fairy with wings from Disney animated movie. Every time I wear this perfume, I receive compliments from my friends. And two of my friends actually bought it after I told them what perfume I wore. One more thing is, my mother never give compliment to my perfume. But once when I wore this perfume and went shopping with her, she kept telling me “You smelled so good”.
I always keep it on my makeup desk so I can see the cute little bottle every single day. I’m so glad I have such a cool perfume, and I highly recommend you guys purchase it. IT IS THAT GOOD!
