Hi!
A new drawing for today! I particularly love this one because I've got 2 favorite things to draw: hands and hair...
Sooooo, a little after Eden's Garden Aziraphale who is braiding Crowley's hair!
Tomorrow, some colored pencil!
See you!

Sometimes I go about my day and then I remember this Good Omens season 1 episode 1 BTS pic exists, and I can't recover.
The fact that this look was on screen for only a minute is a literal crime.

The one thing I love about reading Book Omens and then watching Show Omens is that it explains small things I tend to notice and question.
For example, the scene where Aziraphale brings the holy water to Crowley
This one! I couldn't find a clearer pic unfortunately.
But when you look at this scene there are what looks like bullet hole stencils on the car window behind Crowley. And in Book omens!!
Absolutely love this hehehe 🤭

I like the difference in Crowley's hair from S1 to S2
S1. He's still working for Hell, it's a little messy, normal ginger color. He looks good.
S2. No longer employed by Hell. He chose a more vibrant red and miracles it to perfection because he's spending more time with his husband and wants to look extra nice for him.
Hopefully we get depressed unkempt hair Crowley in S3.

Let's bust a popular myth!
David Tennant was NOT filming the upcoming Dr Who specials while also filming GO season 2!
Good Omens s2 filmed from Nov 2 2021 - Mar 1 2022; the Doctor Who specials filmed May 3 - July 25 2022.
So... what's with Crowley's s2 shifting sideburns and tattoo? Everything is meant. (And if you're not sure about the crew's over-the-top attention to detail, please read this post about the antique sink recreation.)
(pics above, all from s2: "oh no, it's not like that", the love confession, and planning to do a half miracle each)
It seems like Dr Who could be an easy excuse to mask s3 hints hidden within s2...
Here's the first theory/analysis I've seen, by @f0ul-f13nd. What do YOU think??
Have some more pics to study:
(pics above: before the beginning, s1 wall slam with subtext, s2 watching the awning of a new era)
(pics above: lots of angles and both sides of his face during the s2 love confession and kiss)
(pics above, from s2: learning about Azi's French lessons, threatening Jim!Gabriel)
And don't get me started on his multiple wigs and headbands during Job, or his trimmed mausoleum mutton chops. (Details with links are filed under "inconsistencies" in my pinned collection of Clues and metas, if you want them!) There's at least one unreliable narrator at play here, but the question is WHY? WHO? WHAT does it MEAN??!
Someone should ask Neil, PROPERLY! (I'm teasing, with the utmost admiration, please don't actually ask him! No magician is going to reveal their trick in the middle of their act.)
Interested in diving further into all the Good Omens mysteries? I have lots more of my own posts plus Clues and metas from all over the fandom, here.

Crowley’s Hair in Job / Book Of Life Theory
Crowley’s is shorter at the start & end of the Job minisode, and longer in the “suspicious scenes” when the “miracle” happens and when he’s “tempting” Aziraphale to drink wine and eat the ox.
EVERYTHING IS MEANT.
This ties in with my evidence about Crowley’s sideburns in present day - whoever’s editing memories is doing a shitty job.
Photos 1 and 2 - Crowley’s hair is at his shoulders, cut straight across (and straight across the back as well). Shorter than his beard.
Photo 3 - In the courtyard (crows turn back to goats) - Hair is longer, sexier. Longer than his beard. Watch this scene (or scroll to photo 5) and look at how long it is in the back!!
Photos 4 and 5 - Doing the miracle - same hair as photo 3
Photo 6 - Tempting Aziraphale - same hair as photo 3-5
Photo 7 - Bildad The Shuhite - Hair is at his shoulders again, shorter than his beard. Like the opening scene.
Photos 8 and 9 - On the beach in the closing scene. In photo 9 note how short his hair is in the back.
As my friend Rathgrith said, “Either the continuity department was rubbish, or it means something. And we all know the crew was NOT rubbish.”

Re: the one crayon-red curl
My own personal headcannon is that his hair is slowly turning angel-white (as he does more and more good deeds) so he tries to color it to match. He fails. Adorably.

Like many of us I also read the Good Omens book and let me tell you it's 🦆ing insane, I kept screaming and laughing my ass off the entire time. My fam could hear me going on all day. I just love it. I'm currently reading it again.

Do you know any fics with Aziraphale playing with/doing Crowley's hair?
Here are some fics in which Aziraphale touches Crowley’s hair...
All Was Well In The World by ethanollieazra (G)
“Angel? Ev’rythin’ alright?” he murmured, sleep in his voice.
Aziraphale couldn’t help but reach forward to cup Crowley’s face. He brushed a tender circle on the demon’s cheek, pulling forward to press a gentle kiss to his lips.
“Everything is perfect, my dear.”
———
Lying in bed as the early morning sun creeps through the window, Aziraphale begins to braid Crowley’s hair.
Darling, we need to talk about your hair by Crowletto (G)
Aziraphale might have noticed Crowley's hair one or two times over the centuries. It's nothing to lose a good night of sleep about.
But sometimes, an angel can't help but wonder...
The Deepest Pit by EdosianOrchids901 (T)
Stricken by unexplained depression, Crowley gets stuck in bed. He can’t even cheer up once Aziraphale comes to check on him. But as always, Aziraphale is happy to keep him company even in the darkest moments.
it talks in tongues and quiet sighs by argentconflagration (E)
Crowley's going to burst. He's going to discorporate on the spot, right here. He closes his eyes and sighs in contentment and assent, and Aziraphale kisses him. It's not deep, but it goes on and on -- Crowley could stay like this forever, and he'd like to believe Aziraphale feels the same. One of Aziraphale's hands is in Crowley's shirt, making tiny grasping motions that Crowley isn't sure Aziraphale is even aware of. But finally Aziraphale pulls back and rests his forehead on Crowley's. He stares into his eyes for a long moment, and takes a long breath in and out. Then he stands up, straightening his waistcoat. "Thank you for that," he says quietly, cheeks pink and gaze still lingering on Crowley's eyes.
Aziraphale and Crowley settle in together, softly and slowly. There's kisses and hair braiding and whispered words of affirmation. It's soft, y'all.
Let Our Walls Cave In by JekkieFan (G)
A month had passed since the Armageddon-that-never-was. And with the new era came a new style. Crowley wasn’t sure in what way he’d change his wardrobe yet. One thing was for sure: he was growing his hair out.
Or, five times the ineffable idiots make excuses for Aziraphale to play with Crowley's hair, and one time they don't.
Angelic Whispers by AppleSeeds (T)
Crowley runs a very popular ASMR YouTube channel, but is considering applying for a job at a real life ASMR spa. He books an appointment as a client to try out the experience for himself, but becomes completely flustered when he meets the ridiculously gorgeous ASMR therapist, Aziraphale, who will be spending the next hour giving him unrelenting personal attention.
and you can say that my hair's a disgrace by Phoenix_Soar (T)
Angels don’t shield Demons.
Well, Angels typically don’t disobey orders* and give away their Heaven-issued flaming swords, either.

Okay, I've had a couple of weeks to mull it over and I think I've settled on my ranking of Crowley's hair choices through the ages.
16. The Globe Theatre
The hair itself is nice, lots of volume, but that scraggly hamster on his chin is a crime and the reason for this look ranking right at the bottom. It's 1601, Crowley! Why not a sharp stiletto goatee?
15. The Bastille
I appreciate the effort that's gone into those curls but it's too stiff.
14. Rome
The accessory elevates this one but the hair plastered to the forehead gives the impression of being sweaty and sticky.
13. Bildad the Shuite
The hair itself is nice, I'd kill for that volume, and points for the bandana, but the guinea pig on his chin? No. Better than the scraggly hamster but still no.
12. Eden
Bless, he tried. We've all curled our hair like this and then immediately reached for the hairspray instead of gently teasing the curls out.
11. 11 years ago
Nice wave but I hate this length and it looks so stiff.
10. Angel disguise
Jack Grealish is not someone to take style tips from.
9. Victorian era
The curls are lovely but the fluffy sideburns bring it all down. I know it was the fashion but that doesn't make it look good.
8. Disco Demon
The moustache is far superior to the chin hair situations of the past.
7. The half pony
"I'm too busy to style my hair so I just casually pulled it back but I still look hot."
6. 1941
It's shiny and smart but a wee bit too severe.
5. 1960s
It's giving John Lennon and I'm here for it.
4. Modern day
Handsome and flattering.
=2. The Crucifixion / The Flood
Putting these two together cos they're so similar. Teach me the ways of those perfect beachy waves!
1. Angel Crowley
And in first place we have the precious puppy that is Angel Crowley. Those curls are beautiful, especially that one that flops around on top of his head when he gets excited.
