Steve Head-cannons~
Listen we all need some spiritual healing, and what better way to heal than to read about our adorable man-child🩵
PSA: A couple 18+ head-cannons will be at the end ;)
Tumblr media
~~~
Say what you want but this man is the epitome of the you fell first but he fell harder trope.
Love language is physical touch. Tell me I’m wrong, I’ll wait.
Consent, consent, consent.
His neck kisses have spiritual healing ❤️‍🩹
Will act heroic to kill a bug for you but screams with you when they start running.
Steve pinching your ass and saying “don’t look at me like that” when you turn around.
Steve always being the driver.
Buys you a cake after taking your first shit at his place
Definitely calls you honey, fight me.
Need your back cracked? He can do it, he’ll tell you to cross your arms, take a deep breath and lift you.
Walk him like a dog? Oh you do.
He for sure asks for a kids menu with crayons at the restaurant to play tic tac toe with you.
He’s the type of guy to say: “whoopsie daisy” when dropping something, for dustin to turn and say: “I’m sorry what?”
*Grabs you by your waist and sits you in his lap*
He definitely hit his ankles with his scooter an ungodly amount of times and never learned.
Back to epitomes- Steve🤝🏻sleeper build
Oh he definitely grabs your neck to kiss you.
Will shut you up with a kiss.
Tells Robin his back hurts at work from giving you a piggyback ride the night before, only to do it again if you ask.
Constantly analyzing you and knows if you’re not okay. (It’s sad to say he probably does it to protect himself cause he’s definitely scared you’ll eventually leave him)
Other head-cannons
~~~
Walking through your home door and Billy smacking your ass out of nowhere saying: “I’ve been holding out alll evening”
Steve and Billy are best friends okay, they relate to each other cause they both had asshole phases in high school.
Eddie calling you ‘noodle head’ if you have curly or wavy hair
Billy asking what you want at McDonald’s only to turn around and order 3 Big Macs
Steve buying a speak and spell, and Billy calls it stupid. Only to turn around and buy one for himself.
Billy picking you up by your ankles and shaking you to get you out of your depressive state.
You and Billy going back and forth like Jess and Nick’s ‘weird’ contest on New Girl.
Billy and Steve’s dynamic is literally Schmidt and Nick on New Girl
Billy is the type of guy to have a Budweiser shirt, but turn around and say “I like Heineken better”
Billy randomly barking at men that look at you and you turn to see his mouth foaming.
Billy being a good cook.
Eddie not being able to cook for shit. Scratch that, he couldn’t even cook shit. He’s linguini from ratatouille when he was throwing a bunch of shit in the soup.
18+ Head-cannons (MINORS DNI! BEGONE!!)

I warned you
~~~
You can not sit there and tell me he’s not a missionary guy. He is, he also like you on top.
Consent King Steve
If Stranger Things took place in modern times, he’d for sure be the guy that pulls his phone out to play Clash of Clans after rearranging your insides.
You’ve definitely tango’d in the BMW
Doesn’t strike me as the type to tie you up, wants to feel your hands on him 😏
Girthy king 👑
We all know he’d moan if you pulled his hair handle.
Hates being teased but lOvEs teasing you #hypocrite
The type of guy to finish and then start round two when he sees you put his shirt on.
We all know how he feels about boobs.
Definitely into thigh riding. It’s over for you once you say you like his thighs. (He’d definitely look at you and pat his lap 😩🙈)
We love a whimpering man (don’t look at me like that you know he does)
The type of man to just smirk if you suggest it’s small.
Extra: Billy’s the type of guy to fill you up and then go to McDonald’s for 40 nuggets- just for him.
Extra: Eddie definitely comes home, lays on your chest, and talks to your boobs his girls.
AN: Unedited. This chapter has smut, not intense smut but it is to further the plot. comment on this chapter or message for taglist. much love Cia!
 Chapter 2: Would it help if I dressed up like Spock?
You never want to thank serial killers for anything but you were slightly grateful that they decided to chill for a week. You and Spencer didn’t really want to have to put this off another month and you very well couldn’t go to Hotch like “you mind if Spencer sits this case out so he can knock me up?”
You decided that you wouldn’t tell the team what you guys were doing until you were at least 4 months pregnant, which getting Garcia to keep it a secret was proving to be its own task. You thankfully had been able to intercept her before she could tell Derek.
Spencer was over every night after work now, cuddling you on your couch watching a new Disney movie. For a man who seemed to know everything, his classic children movie knowledge was lacking. Right now, you guys were watching Ratatouille. He was sitting on the couch and you were on the floor beneath him between his legs, his hand aimlessly raking through your hair. You were on the verge of purring like a cat. You had forgotten how it felt to be comfortable around someone.
“I don’t understand. If this movie is supposed to be about a rodent in a gourmet restaurant. Why is he making a peasant dish?”
“It’s called Ratatouille. Why do you think?” You say, looking up at him. “It’s a pun.”
He smiles down at you. “Well, it’s a play on words. Not a pun.”
“Whatever, nerd.” You go to turn your attention back to the screen but his hand slides from your scalp to around your chin, forcing your head to stay up.
“Tomorrow’s the day, you know.” Spencer says.
“Trust me, I know.” You say.
“Are you…. nervous?” He asks, eyes kind of shifting.
“You don't make me nervous, Spencer.” You say, turning so you can look at him fully. “But something tells me you are. Tell me what’s bothering you.”
“It’s just…. Idontwantittobebadforyou.” He rushes out.
You look confused for a second before you realize what he’s saying to you. “Oh, Spencer you don’t have to worry about that.” You say, tapping him on the leg. “After all, you are kinda the only one it needs to be good for.”
“Actually some studies have been showing that women are more likely to become pregnant if they also achieve orgasm.”
“Now that’s something I didn’t know.”
“I just… it just feels selfish. You’re not getting anything out of it.”
“But I am getting something out of it, Spence. The best thing, our kid.” You laugh. “That’s what we’re doing this for, right?”
He hesitates slightly. “Y-Yea, it is. Sorry, I don’t know what I was thinking.”
“Hey, it’s alright. Caring if I orgasm already puts you above like 90% of the guys I’ve fucked.” You shrug. “Now, shut up. I’m trying to watch Remy.” You say, turning your attention but to the kitchen antics on the screen before you.
———————————————
You had been antsy all day. Penelope tried to pry out of you what was making you so jittery but you never told her. As far as Penny was concerned, you and Spencer were going through the clinic. She didn’t need to know the details of how you were getting pregnant.
After work, you and Spencer piled into your car and drove to your house. Once inside, Spencer waited in the living room while you went to the bathroom and took an ovulation test. Not exactly the sexiest thing to set the mood but what are you gonna do? You come out some time later brandishing the test before tossing it in the trash.
“Well, I’m ovulating.” You say. “How are you feeling?”
“F-Fine.” He stutters before clearing his throat. “I’m fine.”
“Ok so you’re clearly not fine.” You say. “We don’t have to do this tonight if you’re having doubts. We can wait as long as you need.”
“No, I’m fine, just nervous.”
“This is probably the wrong time to ask but you’ve…. Done this before right?”
He looks at you incredulously. “Christ, Y/N. I’m not a Virgin.” He exclaims. You hold your hands up in surrender. “It’s just weird. You’re my coworker.”
“We can pretend I’m someone else if you want. Like I’m someone from the bar? Or where do you even meet girls? The library? Comic con? Pen gave me a Star Trek shirt last year. Would it help if I dressed up like Spock?—“
“Can I just kiss you?” He cuts you off. “Can we start there?”
Your face can’t help but soften at that. “Yea, Spencer. That’s fine.” You say, stepping into his space. You feel his hand cradle your face before he leans in kissing you softly. You go at his speed for a while, slowly letting your tongues meet in the middle as you wound your hands into his hair. Soon a gasp is leaving you as you feel hands circling your waist pulling you closer as his kisses become rougher. Soon, you find yourself pressed against your wall. You let out a small yelp not expecting that at all. Spencer slots a leg in between yours, rubbing it against your clothed sex slightly. You groan when you feel his erection against your hip. Spencer’s now kissing you extremely rough. His hand drifts from it’s hold on your hip to the bottom of your jaw, fingers spreading slightly so he's almost gripping your neck like he wants to but is trying to hold back for right now. You’re a little surprised at that, you would’ve never thought Spencer Reid was into that. He pulls away for a second, hand still on your jaw looking at you with hooded eyes.
“Bedroom?” He asks. You nod.
———————————————
The two of you didn’t even have time to have an awkward moment because as soon as you’re in your room behind the closed door Spencer is on you, his lips finding your neck and that spot behind your earlobe that makes you moan. You reach to start unbuttoning his shirt, he helps you and you feel the slight smirk against your jaw. As soon as he’s undressed, you take off your clothes and sit on the bed. You look up and see Spencer still standing up at the end of it, watching you.
“What’s wrong?” You ask.
“Nothing.” He says. “You’re just- you’re beautiful, Y/N.”
You don’t like the way your heart flutters at that. You need to get a grip and remember this is just a one time thing, a business interaction.
“So do something about it.” You say.
Spencer is on top of you at the speed of light, trailing kisses down your neck and chest. You moan loudly, back lifting off the bed when his lips circle around your nipple, fingers playing with the neglected one. He looks at you softly as he starts to pull your underwear down. His fingers ghost above your sex, waiting for your permission. You nod, moaning when you feel the first digit slides across your wet folds. You had thought about Spencer’s hands before but nothing could prepare you for how they’d actually feel inside you. He says nothing, just gently pumps the two fingers inside you, smirking at how much you’re falling apart under him. It’s somehow hotter than when guys talk to you in bed. You feel yourself getting closer and closer to the line you had set for yourself as you get closer to the edge. You shouldn’t be enjoying this as much as you were. Your moans got more and more loud as you felt yourself falling over the edge, praising Spencer’s name all the while. He still says nothing, just studies you with a look of wonderment crossing his face as you ride out your orgasm.
“You ready?” He asks. You nod, helping him pull off his boxers before he settles in the space between your legs. You feel the tip of his member press against you before he looks you in the eye again, silently asking for permission. You push back against him, granting it. The two of you groan loudly at the feeling as he presses inside of you. Spencer gives you time to adjust to his length, he was definitely a lot bigger than you thought he was going to be, then again you never really thought about any of your coworkers genitalia before. You nod when you're ready and he starts moving, slow at first but quickly picking up pace when he hears the groans and moans escaping your body unintentionally.
“Fuck, Spencer. R-Right there.” You stutter out, Spencer moves your legs higher up on his waist as he started fucking you faster, hitting that spot inside you nearly every thrust. You went into this expecting nothing, really just the most mediocre sex possible. Which was fine, you were only doing this for your baby. You certainly weren’t expecting Spencer to actually be good at this. But here you were, moaning like a pornstar underneath the man she didn’t even like just weeks ago.
“Fuck,  Y/N.” He moaned, head dropping into your neck. You could feel him panting into your ear. “Fuck, you feel so good. You’re so tight, baby.”
You don’t know where that baby came from but you were too caught up in it to care. Your moans get louder and louder and Spencer drops a hand to your sex, rubbing circles into the bundle of nerves that had your back arching off the bed. You were so unbelievably close you and Spencer could tell by the scratches you left down his back. He placed a small bite on the small patch of flesh behind your earlobe and that was all it took back over the edge for the second time that night. You felt Spencer’s thrust start to falter shortly after.
“Shit, you feel so good, Y/N.” He groans into your ear. “Fuck.”
You knew it wasn’t wise and if you could take it back you would. But you got swept up in the moment and still reeling from the two orgasms you had that you turned your head and whispered directly into Spencer’s ear.
“Give me your baby, Spence.”
Spencer’s leans his head up to look at you now, an almost feral look crossing his face as he starts fucking you harder. Looking you so intensely in your eyes. He brings a hand up to your neck squeezing the sides slightly and gripping your head so you can’t even look anywhere else if you wanted to.
“Fuck, Y/N. You want me to fuck a baby into you, don’t you?” He says, fucking you impossibly hard. You moan loudly, gripping his wrist attached to the hand around your neck. “Fuck, I’m gonna--” He cuts off, and you watch him shake as he releases inside of you, thrusting shallowly as he rides out his orgasm.
A minute passes and he separates from you, placing another pillow under your hips. “I’ve seen some studies say it’s better to keep the hips propped up for five minutes after sex to increase chances of fertilization.”  He says. “I’ll be right back.”
He leaves you alone in the room for a second and you decide to spend that time gathering your thoughts. This could not be good. Spencer just gave you the best sex of your life for what most likely, was going to be a one time thing. You don’t even know how to go about working with him and raising this child knowing what he was like in the sack. This was a bad idea, but it was also a little too late now.
He comes back in with a cold water bottle, prompting you to drink it which you happily accept. He goes and runs a hand softly through your sweatshined hair.
“Sorry for… doing that, I know you said it wasn’t necessary before but you seemed close and it felt cruel to just not.” You look at him confused for a second before you realize what he’s saying.
“Are you…. Apologizing for making me cum?” You ask. Spencer looks down awkwardly for a second. “Spencer, trust me it’s fine. In fact, it’s more than fine. Thank you for this. I know it was less than ideal for you.”
Spencer playfully ruffles your hair. “It was not as bad as I thought it would be.”
You roll your eyes at that. “Gee, thanks Casablanca.”
“You know I didn’t mean it like that.” He laughs. “I should get going.”
“It’s already late. You could just… stay if you want.”
“I don’t want to impose--” He starts but you cut him off.
“Spencer, stay with me.” You say again, looking him in the eyes. “Please.”
He looks at you back for a second, decoding if you were serious before nodding and crawling into the bed next to you. You immediately turn and toss an arm over his torso.
“Goodnight, Spencer.” You say.
“Goodnight, Y/N.” He says back.
You can almost swear you feel a kiss at the top of your forehead before you drift off but you’re so tired.
 You probably hallucinated it.
Life in Pink
For SoKai Week Day 2 - The Perfect Date
Ever since he’d gotten back, each day spent with Sora was a new adventure.
“Can I take the blindfold off yet?” Kairi asked, tugging at at the bandana wrapped around her eyes. She had no idea where he’d taken her this time; all she knew was that they weren’t on Destiny Islands anymore. Riding in the Gummi Ship without being able to see anything had been a trip.
Sora gave her hand a quick squeeze. “Not yet. We’re almost there.”
Her eyesight impeded, she had to go off her senses of smell and hearing instead. The ground beneath them was smooth, and the autumn air would be a little nippy if it weren’t for the jacket she’d “borrowed” (more like stolen) from Sora. Every now and then she’d catch a conversation here or there – young kids, old couples, families. They must be in a town.
And oooh, what was that smell? Like rosemary and garlic and butter and—
“Okay, we’re here. You can take the blindfold off.”
She did, and the first thing she saw was Sora’s smiling face and outstretched arms. Behind them was a fancy-looking sign that said “Le Grand Bistrot.” The windows and doorway were lit up, full of warmth and light that spilled out onto the patio. Happy couples and families just about filled all the tables, taking advantage of the nice autumn weather.
“Oh, the bistro!” She knew where they were now. Twilight Town.
“You’ve been here before?”
She nodded. “Uh-huh. Hayner, Pence, and Olette brought me here. The food’s great.”
He grinned at that. “Yeah.” Holding out his arm, he asked, “Shall we?”
She looped her arm through his as he led them inside, and a familiar face greeted them.
“Oh! Hey Sora, Kairi,” Hayner said, looking very official in his slacks and white button-down shirt. “I take it you’re here for your dinner reservation at seven?”
“Yup,” Sora answered, fiddling with his tie.
“You are good to go,” Hayner said as he crossed their name off the list. He nodded at Olette, and she smiled and grabbed two menus for them.
“Right this way, please,” she said. They went through the main dining room past all the busy tables and into a small room she hadn’t seen before. It was lit by candlelight, and there was a single table set for two. Kairi and Sora were written on fancy little cards in front of each of the chairs. A bouquet of daisies, asters, and forget-me-nots were in a vase in the center of the table, and the silverware was so elegant she almost hated to get it all messy by using it.
“Oh, Sora, this is beautiful,” she said softly.
Pence was waiting for them, a big grin on his face. “Welcome! Kairi, if I may?” he asked as he motioned towards Kairi’s jacket. She shrugged it off and handed it to him, and he took it and hung it up in the corner.
“Thanks, Pence, Olette, I’ll take it from here,” Sora said as he pulled Kairi’s chair out for her and she sat down and smoothed the skirt of her dress.
Pence gave them a thumbs up, and Olette set the menus down and grinned before closing the door behind them. “Enjoy!” she called with a wink.
Kairi turned to look at Sora as he took his suit jacket off and hung it up. “S-Sora?”
“I’ll be your chef and waiter tonight,” he said, giving her a shy smile as he donned an apron.
“You can cook?”
She plastered her hand over her mouth, not meaning her words to come out quite like that, but there was a twinkle in his eye.
“Hard to believe, huh? But it’s true, I can cook now. Learned from the very best.”
Kairi wondered who he meant, but before she could ask, he moved to the far side of the room and pulled the curtains back. The windows were clear glass and opened up directly onto the pristine kitchen. She’d have a good view of him as he made their food.
He turned to her again. “All those times when we were kids, you cooked for me,“ he said as he rolled his sleeves up. “Let me return the favor for once.”
She ducked her head, her cheeks flushing. “Okay.”
He grinned and grabbed a remote from the little stand in the corner. A few moments later, and one of her favorite pieces of music started playing. The lyrics were simple enough, but they’d always resonated with her. Life in pink, life through rose-tinted glasses, was a lot better than life in blue. Than life without Sora.
He gestured to the menu. “What will you be having tonight, mademoiselle?”
She giggled as she opened it. “I didn’t know you could speak French, either.”
“Un peu,” he said. “Picked it up from a friend. I know enough to translate any of the dishes you might not know.” He reached into his pocket and pulled out a notepad. “Let me know when you’re ready.”
She flipped through the menu, and sure enough, everything had elegant French names. All the dishes looked delicious, too. She wasn’t sure how she was going to decide on what to eat.
“You can really make everything on the menu?”
“Yup.”
“What would you recommend, then, monsieur?”
“Hmmm, let’s see,” he said as he leaned over her shoulder. “The Ratatouille’s really good. It’s got a bunch of veggies with bay leaf and thyme. So’s the Pumpkin Velouté. It’s a soup with pumpkin and truffles. The Beef Bourguignon is probably my favorite meat dish, and if you want fish, the Eel Matelote and Sea Bass en Papillote are both really good. And for dessert I’d have to recommend the Chocolate Mousse or the Berries au Fromage.”
Her stomach growled. “It all sounds delicious. How about you surprise me?”
“Okay,” he said as he scribbled a few things down. “What will you have to drink?”
“Just water, please. Maybe coffee with dessert.”
“Alright, I’ll get started on your meal for you,” he said.
She watched as he went into the kitchen and prepared their meals. Every now and then he’d glance at her with a grin on his face, especially after he’d pulled off a particularly impressive trick with the ingredients, but mostly he was focused intently on the cooking.
She rested her chin on her hands and sighed. For some reason he was even cuter than normal. Maybe it was the way he bit his lower lip, or how the tip of his tongue stuck out when he was really focused on something. Or maybe it was the fact that he was cooking her gourmet French food. Either way, she felt all warm and fuzzy inside.
When he emerged from the kitchen again, it was with their drinks and appetizers: two hot dishes of Ratatouille. Kairi’s eyes fluttered shut as she savored the tasty vegetables. It was like all the flavors were blending together in perfect harmony.
He wasn’t done though. Afterwards came the Beef Bourguignon, which was to die for. The red wine gave it just the right flavor, and everything down to the garnish was impeccable. It was a good thing all this food took so long to prepare, because it meant she’d actually have enough room in her stomach for it.
After that came the dessert, coffee and the Chocolate Mousse. He brought that out to her and set it before her, but the fruit garnish was missing. He knelt at her feet, his head about level with the table.
“Kairi? I want you to meet the chef who taught me how to cook. He’s the one who came up with all these recipes, and he helped me make our food tonight, too.”
Kairi peered into the kitchen. How—
“Not in there. Here.”
Her eyes snapped back to Sora, or more specifically, Sora’s head. Because perched on his head, peeking out from between his spikes, was a— was a—
She put one hand over her mouth and clutched her napkin with another. “Sora, there’s a— there’s a—”
“A rat on my head?” Sora said with a grin. “Yeah, I know.” He reached his hand up, and the little rat hopped on. It wore a small bowtie, and in its paws it held a ripe red strawberry. “This is Little Chef, and he wanted to put the finishing touches on your dessert for you tonight.”
He presented Little Chef to Kairi, and she looked into the little rat’s eyes. He was so cute. Holding that strawberry for her because he wanted to put the finishing touches on the mousse himself. How sweet. Sure, he was a rat, but his little paws looked clean, and so did his fur. Who was she to say he couldn’t be a chef? And if Sora said he was one, then she believed him. As far as she was concerned, Little Chef was the world’s tiniest chef, and a talented one to boot.
He gestured towards the mousse with the strawberry, and she smiled and nodded.
“Please. Thank you, Little Chef.”
She could have sworn the little rat smiled back as he carefully placed the strawberry on top of her mousse. He grabbed another strawberry from Sora’s hand and put it on Sora’s mousse, then Sora offered him a little plate with a rat-sized portion of dessert on it.
“Mind if he joins us?”
“Not at all.”
Little Chef was adorable as he ate, too, clutching his food in his paws as he nibbled at it. And the mousse tasted incredible, the perfect cap to a wonderful meal. Kairi leaned back and sighed as she sipped on her coffee. What a lovely date.
Sora wasn’t finished, however. After they’d had time to digest their food, he hung his apron up and offered his hand. The music was still floating through the air, and it was back to her favorite song.
“May I have this dance?” he said.
She smiled and took his hand. “I thought you’d never ask.”
As they swayed back and forth in each other’s arms, Kairi sighed. What a lovely end to a lovely evening. Then it got even better as Sora softly sang the words of the song to her. Where he’d learned how to do that, she decided not to ask.
With him, life was always in pink. The wonderful date and delicious food were lovely, but they weren’t necessary.
As long as they were together, that was all she needed.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Back when I was doing the KH3 Countdown Challenge, I wrote a piece called Anyone Can Cook about Sora learning how to cook with Rémy. In it he mentioned wanting to cook for Kairi to surprise her, and I’ve been planning this followup for awhile now. Hope you enjoyed! The suggestion for Rémy to wear a bowtie is courtesy of @angel-with-a-pipette and this story is dedicated to her :)
The title is a reference to a famous French song - feel free to take a guess at what it is!
UK Road Trip Week 3
Ahhh late post was initially meaning to post every Monday but what can you do when you're on the road with limited signal sometimes and always wanting to look out the window and the pretty sights.
Day 15:
Woke up early and was finally able to put in our big bag of laundry into the wash. We weren't really able to do the things we thought about doing like going for a hike or a bike ride because we wanted to wait for our laundry so instead we took it easy and watched the last episode of izombie and once V was done with her skype interview we went grocery shopping for dinner supplies since we were going to cook ratatouille. We got back to the house and prepped all the vegetables and V made vegan chocolate pudding for dessert. Once everything was prepped and ready we decided to go kayaking for a little while before everyone would be back for dinner. Since there were 3 of us and only 2 kayaks, the bf and I decided to share one but boy was that a mistake because the bf sat in front with me in the back (so he was sitting in between my legs) and I'm not sure how but all his weight was on me and when I tried to position myself to paddle, it put so much strain on my abs and was the most painful thing so it was a struggle but at least we had a laugh and got to see a cool cave and some beautiful waves; got pretty drenched though. On the way back the bf and V switched and she and I sat together which made the paddle back much easier because she's lighter and I sat in front this time for good measure. When we got back, we quickly whipped up the rest of dinner (which was delicious) and chowed down. We then drove V's parents to an evening event and then the bf had a go at driving "Marvin", a classic 70's Volkswagen beetle that was gifted to V and her sister by their parents when they were 17. We got back and played games until midnight and V's parents returned just before we were to call it a night. V's dad decided out of the blue though that he wanted to show us the strangest card trick which involved being able to manipulate two rows of cards to be completely black and completely red even though we were the ones dealing it. Afterward, V showed us a curious card trick as well before we finally hit the hay.
Day 16:
Had a nice long catch up with V this morning before saying goodbye so much so that we didn't leave her house until 12:30...when we were expecting a 7 hour drive ahead of us...on the plus side when I mentioned to her parents that lately it's been cold while camping, her mom went and got us a duvet to take with us that she was planning to donate anyway. The drive was lovely and scenic but I was feeling a bit ill because of my indigestion so couldn't fully take it in. We were short on time since we didn't want to set up the tent when it was too dark and we only made one stop on the drive in a place just outside of Land's End called St. Just. It was a cliffside surrounded by lush green rolling hills and fields that was just gorgeous and gave such an atmosphere with the overcast. The rocky cliffs partially covered in grass and flowers were wonderful as they overlooked the clear blue-green ocean water. We sat there for a while and just took it in but I was sure that I could just sit there all day and still want more. It was most definitely my favourite stop by far. Afterward, we continued our drive from Cornwall to St. Clears which is just outside of Carmarthen in Wales and arrived at about 9:30 and were able to set up the tent even though it was already quite dark and managed to finish before the rain really poured down.
Day 17:
Today we experienced a downpour for most of the morning and day with the sun really only coming out at 5. We decided to leave early so we could drive through Swansea and then Cardiff. The clouds and rain didn't help the run-down atmosphere that Swansea was giving off with numerous shops that we drove by being closed down. When we got to Cardiff we decided to head straight for Tim Hortons which was nice since I was feeling a bit homesick although it obviously wasn't as good as what I've had in Canada. Afterward, we walked to the Millennium center which was the location for many Doctor Who episodes. After that, we watched the Liverpool game at an Australian sports bar and then headed to Caerphilly Castle which is the largest castle in Wales and had a nice little stroll before heading back for the night since we were still pretty tired from the previous day's drive.
Day 18:
As soon as we woke up today we attempted to put away our tent but struggled because of the periodic downpour that seemed to come down very hard every 10 minutes or so. We felt a bit bad though because the tent next to us was huge and the guy who was taking it down was on his own and seemed completely unfazed by the rain. We set off as soon as we could and drove along the Welsh coast/Pembrokeshire coast and again saw some gorgeous coastal views from St. David's to Trefin to Fishguard. It was especially lovely because the rain had cleared up. The cove in Trefin beach that is part of the Pembrokeshire coast national park was my favourite part of the drive and just beautiful. When we arrived in Aberystwyth we walked around the beach for a while and the bf showed me where he used to live. We even got pizza for dinner from a place called Hollywood pizza where he used to go most nights after drinking. Super cheesy with a buttery and crispy crust. We then continued our stroll and hiked up Constitution hill for some gorgeous views of the city. After a few minutes at the top, the bf was too cold so we walked down and caught a bit of the sunset on the before heading back.
Day 19:
The bf disagrees but I found the bed at this Airbnb that we booked for our stay in Aberystwyth super comfy and the pillows super fluffy and to be completely honest, it made me dread the thought of camping again but only a little bit. We got up and went to eat at "Sophie's", a breakfast cafe that the bf was a regular at during his uni days. It was super yummy there and the veggie sausages were on point. It was a rather humid day but again the weather couldn't decide whether it wanted to be Sunny or have a downpour. After breakfast, we headed to a place called "Devil's Bridge". It had loads of beautiful waterfalls and cool bridges. We stupidly parked in a spot that required us to pay even though the car park for the Devil's Bridge was free. The walk around the bridge and waterfall area took about 45 mins. There was a steep staircase there that, not gonna lie, terrified me at first. My fear of heights picks and chooses its moments and it had a pretty big one then. I'm totally fine with hiking up steep areas but hiking down is different so needed the bf's help then. The hike/walk back up the stairs of the place was certainly steep so my legs were shaking by the end of it. From the Devil's Bridge, we headed to Morrisons for some supplies and then back to the Airbnb to chill for a bit and watch Doctor Who. The bf and I both agree that the Matt Smith portion of the show is our favourite and that he's our favourite Doctor because he's wise but also daft and loveable. We concluded the night by having another stroll along the beach and grabbing some McDonald's...oh and since this Airbnb is working like a legitimate BnB, the room next to us was also taken so the night was really ended by us trying to drown out the sound of the couple in the next room having sex...lovely. 🙃
Day 20:
Today was the day that we were meant to hike Snowden so I got up at 8 packed my stuff, finished my chapter of HP that I was on and uploaded week 2 of my blog! By the time we got to the car though we realized it would be foolish to try and get to Snowden this late in the morning and hike it. Instead, we dawdled for a bit and then had lunch at a fusion place in Aberystwyth that I'd been wanting to try; really yummy fried chicken there. We then drove to the university that the bf used to attend and he showed me around the campus and the student housing in which he lived in during first year and recalled stories from that time. We then headed to Snowdonia National park since the bf's friend, T, lives and works there. She works in this quaint little book shop in a small town that had a such a laid back feel to it called Porth Madog. It was my first time meeting her but she was really nice and informative about what we could do in the area, she also reminded me immensely of another friend that the bf and I both know because of their mannerisms and colour of hair that they have both dyed the same colour. After chatting with her for a bit, we headed to the bay area near the town which was so lovely and serene and we sat there and read for a bit. When it became a bit cold we decided to head to Aldi for some snacks. All throughout the day I was feeling really sluggish and sleepy and no amount of coffee or energy drink seemed to help (only had one of each lol). The bf felt the same but he more so was just dreading our impending plans of wild camping but I was as well since we both had never done it before and didn't really want to deal with waiting for dusk to put up the tent and then to wake up at the crack of dawn to take it down. We agreed we didn't want to bother with the hassle, at least not that night since we were both tired and so we drove near the base of Snowden, parked in a lay by, reorganized the car and then slept.
Day 21:
Woke up at roughly 7 am and so did the bf and we both had the resolve to quickly get ready and start the hike up Snowden as soon as we could. Luckily there was a washroom at the base car park so we could freshen up. We then began the walk from where we parked the car (15 mins walk from the base) at about 8:45 am. I have already seen some quite spectacular coastal views in the UK but this was by far the best inland views I'd seen yet and my first time seeing proper mountainous views here. Such beauty, I'd never done this kind of hike before in my life.
I know I'm from Vancouver and I'm sure there are gorgeous hikes there but I never had my own car to get to them. I've hiked up Grouse Mountain and even though the views from the chalet are beautiful, it's just not as scenic a hike. My photos can't even begin to bring it justice. I was also surprised that it really didn't feel that difficult so I suppose I'm in better shape than I thought, I even seemed to be having an easier time at it than the bf. We walked along beautiful streams and what seemed like endless ridges and countless sheep just minding their own business. I might be a bit bias, but the bf is really just the best hiking buddy. He's always calm, reassuring, and well prepared and I felt the hike was that much more fun because I could share the experience with him. I honestly wish I could have filmed the whole hike to really capture what an amazing experience it was but I didn't have the equipment. Near the summit, there is a portion of the hike that is truly a scramble. I felt like a monkey as I crawled up the edge of the mountain; what an adrenaline rush but also thoroughly exhausting. It took us just under 4 hours to reach the summit. Even though I thoroughly enjoyed the hike up, especially so with the lovely weather, the summit was appalling. It was absolutely crowded with tourists, many of whom were inappropriately dressed for such a strenuous hike AND who were also drinking and smoking! At the top of a mountain!? Ugh. The summit was really small and there was nothing to do but maybe go to the unnecessary pub that is there and look at the gorgeous view. So after about 30 minutes, we decided to head back down a different way. The walk down was much harder on my feet and at times very painful but I persevered because if I were to stop and rest for too long then we would have gotten caught up in an obnoxious camp group that was on our tail. It took us 2 and a half hours to get back down to the base of the mountain although it felt shorter (so did the hike up) and the total time was about 7 and a half hours from the car and back. We walked about 31 000 steps and I just felt so proud of myself to have been able to accomplish that hike at all, I was happy for the rest of the day but that also could have been because of the endorphins. We had a snack at a nearby cafe after leaving Snowden and then drove to Betws y Coed and set up in a nearby lay by again feeling fully destroyed and ready for sleep.
huge life update..!!
hey everyone !! so as you’ve seen, we’ve been slowly returning to this blog. we’re so sorry for kind of abandoning it in the past few months, it wasn’t on purpose and we never really meant to do it. there was no “let’s take a hiatus” decision, we did want to keep running the blog but a lot has been going on and life has been really distracting !! soooo much has happened with us, and we can’t wait to tell you all about what we’ve been up to !!
we left off telling you about our month-long first meeting. ruby lived in california while i lived in canada, and we met online through pokemon. at the very beginning of april, after almost a year of dating, ruby flew over to canada and we met for the first time. we spent an amazing month together and did so many fun things before she had to leave at the end of april, just a few days before our one year anniversary. it was a very tearful goodbye as being together in real life had been so wonderful that we really dreaded going back to being long distance. this is the part you’ve already known. oh how things have changed...
it was only a short two months before we saw each other again. we spent may and june apart, but then, at the very end of june, i was the one who flew to california. like ruby in april, it was my first time going through an airport and on an airplane all by myself !!! i was extremely nervous to do it but after it had happened, it wasn’t neaaarly as bad as i thought it would be. the flight itself was disappointingly extremely boring and i couldn’t wait for it to be over. i absolutely love looking out the window but the woman in the window seat beside me, as well as apparently every single person around me, kept the windows closed the entire flight ! ! ! ! and oh god that woman... i couldn’t text ruby throughout the flight so i wrote down the hilarious things she said so that i could tell her them later. i won’t say what they were right now because i don’t want a huge portion of this life update to just be about her but dear god ... if anyone wants to know what happened with her, feel free to send an ask about it and i will most gladly tell c; let’s just say... i named her melania trump ...
ruby and i had no idea that we would see each other again so soon. when we parted at the end of april, we had no clue for how long it would be. we hoped we would be lucky enough to see each other again around christmas, because we knew we really wanted to spend that together. and we ended up being even luckier than that ! we did lots of fun things in california; went swimming in ruby’s pool (i don’t have a pool so this was exciting to me okay !), went to a fair on the fourth of july where we saw a rodeo and amazing fireworks, we drove 10 hours to arizona !!!, where we camped for a few days in The Wilderness, and we had never seen so many stars in our lives. the town of sedona and the mountains in arizona were so extremely beautiful and breathtaking. we went to san pedro and santa monica pier... sedona and santa monica were my two favourite places, especially santa monica. they were both so extremely beautiful. the stars in sedona and the sunset on santa monica beach... in california we also discovered ubereats. i mean, we’d always known it existed, but they had only just started making deliveries where ruby lived, and we don’t have it where i live in canada, so we had never used it before. we ordered it once and then...got addicted. we ordered quite a few “feasts” every few days where we would buy enough food that it looked as though it were for a party, but it was just the two of us. relationship goals though, am i right ? i loved our feasts ! we also walked around hollywood, of course, which i’d really wanted to see. i got a lot of fun souvenirs ! and we saw the hollywood sign !! that about ended my time in california... or i should say, OUR time.
that’s right, when i returned to canada at the end of july, after spending one month in california, ruby came with me. it was my dad’s idea, that she should come for another visit and experience summer in canada, since when she was here in april it was still winter and way too cold to do certain things. we had her ticket to canada bought before i even left for california !
we missed our flight. we might’ve left the house a tiny bit too late, and then there was traffic on the way to the airport. once we got there, there was technically still time. our plane hadn’t left off yet and we knew that planes never left exactly on time anyway. if we hurried through security we could probably still.... but they wouldn’t let us !!! immediately at check in they told us that we could no longer check in for this flight. it was too late. we had to be there at least an hour before departure. even though we probably could have made it, they said no... but they told us they could put us on the next flight. which was at 6pm. IT WASN’T EVEN NOON YET. ruby’s parents had already left us at the airport, we couldn’t sit there until 6pm !!!! PLUS, my parents had already driven 2 hours to toronto for us at this point, doing some shopping before they expected to pick us up at the airport at 7pm canadian time. like this, we wouldn’t even BOARD OUR PLANE until 9pm their time !!!! WE WOULD ARRIVE IN CANADA NOT AT 7PM, BUT AT PAST 2AM. this could NOT happen. my parents, with my little siblings with them as well, could not wait for us until 2am. there had to be a sooner flight. there had to be. AND LUCKILY, THERE WAS. they said that they could squeeze us onto a flight that left just an hour after our original flight. we would only arrive in canada slightly late. thank god. we also extremely luckily got seats together. our seats weren’t assigned until we were waiting for the plane to begin boarding. the man at the desk said that unfortunately, they didn’t have any seats left together, as he started printing our boarding passes... but he didn’t even finish saying it before he cut himself off, seeing that they DID have a seat together, and printed our new tickets, next to each other. finally everything was set !!! we had a much better flight together than i did when i flew to california. i got the window seat and got to look out the window all i wanted !!! we also watched ratatouille on the plane. because of delays, we didn’t get there until 10pm canadian time. it was nice seeing my family again after a whole month away. and then was the long drive home... we got to my house near 1am. AND I GOT TO SEE MY CATS. i had been away from them for so long !!!!!!!
so began our next month in canada. it was august, and we tried to do as many fun things together as we could. just a few days after we returned to canada, my family left for the long weekend to the state of new york. so we had the house to ourselves ! my siblings are... extremely loud and annoying. whenever they’re home, we try to stick to my room because there are no words for how horrible they are. so we were very glad to have the house to ourselves for once and took the opportunity to cook some tasty food together ! we made several good breakfasts and we even cooked two batches of meringues, which were really good. during the rest of august, we went swimming at the beach (where we had taken a walk back in april and i died from how freezing it was back then), shopped at my favourite mall, watched the incredibles 2 at the theatre, went to the african lion safari where we saw many animals such as elephants, zebras, giraffes, lions, and more, and we bought ruby a (very cheap) nintendo switch !!! she had been wanting one for literally EVER but had no money to get one. she was always really upset that she may never get one, especially with lots of games coming out that she wanted. so i helped her get one and she was so happy !!! we also both played my most favourite game in the world, together on our switches, when we saw that it had been released for switch: okami hd !!!! we have actually yet to finish it but we are very close to the end.... it’s such a good game and ruby really loves it ! i’ve wanted her to play it forever ! we also got mario kart 8 for switch, which has been a lot of fun to play together, we went to niagara on the lake, where we tried beavertails and poutine for the first time, but then when we had barely ate some of the poutine a TINY gust of wind somehow managed to blow it off our table and spill it all over the ground >:( we were so depressed !!!!!!  we also went on a horse carriage ride ! and tried costco fries ! (costco’s in the US don’t sell fries in their cafe area and i have always really loved them and wanted ruby to try them... on the other hand american costco’s sell chicken bakes which are SO good and canadian costco’s don’t D’: i will miss them..) and we had campfires again !! just like back in april !! ruby has also helped me find homes for 5 stray kittens/cats that lived outside my house. they were a big problem, always having kittens and sadly suffering during the winter when it was freezing and there was little food. we were finally able to help the last of them !!! that makes over 20 strays that i’ve found homes for ! however... there were actually 6 cats. the last was a black cat named pepper. i loved her a lot but she was very sick. a rescue did take her along with the other adult stray and had her treated and fixed !!! but they couldn’t find a home for her... so they ended up returning her a month later and... we ended up taking her in just a few days ago !!! pepper is now mine !! i have 6 cats now hehehe... so that makes for our time in canada.
you may be thinking to yourself: but you said you spent the month of august together. it’s been more than a month. you both adopted pepper just the other day, and it’s october now. well... that would be right ! ruby is still here. SHE IS STAYING HERE.
YES. YES. YES. RUBY IS IN CANADA AND NOT LEAVING. so a few weeks into august, i asked my dad for advice on what the heck we’re supposed to do for ruby to begin immigrating to canada. he said well why wait ? there’s no better time to start than right now. we were ecstatic and in disbelief. we wouldn’t have to say goodbye again. ruby was not going back to california. so it was still august when we cancelled ruby’s flight and began preparing for her move. she couldn’t go back for her stuff in california because well... it would be weird and suspicious if she spent a whole month in canada, went back to california for like a week, and then returned with a ton of stuff. what would she even tell as her reason for returning to canada at airport security this time ? yeah... we thought it would be best if she didn’t leave the country. instead, her mom is going to be mailing several packages of ruby’s belongings over. but don’t worry, we’re not secretly keeping her here illegally. my family has immigrated illegally to canada and ruby’s illegally to the US, so we know all of the trouble that causes and want to avoid that. she is technically still a visitor. americans are allowed to visit canada for 6 months per year, every year, so she can be here no problem until the end of january 2019. so we have until then to figure out something more to keep her here longer. we are planning to begin college together, and that way she can get a study permit and a work permit for the length of the program (likely around 18 months). in those 18 months we would then make progress toward keeping her here after graduation, such as having her apply for a permanent residency. it’s hard but i’m sure everything will work out !
however, we are... extremely stressed out at the moment. the problem is, we have no money. we need thousands to pay for college. we need jobs to get money. ruby can’t even get a job yet, as she has no work permit. also, neither of us have driver’s licenses, though we are working to get them. and she cannot get a work permit until she has a study permit. but to get the study permit we have to have a way to pay for school---- you see the problem.
we want to go to college for video game design and development. we both have a huge love and passion for video games and would love to be the ones creating them. we already have plenty ideas for games that we want to create one day. (because of me tbh,.. every little thing gives me a new idea !) the first school i thought of was the toronto film school. so one day we simply requested more information from them, so we could learn more about what the school and the program were like. the admissions adviser called us pretty much immediately and was super nice. we talked to him a lot over the course of several days, and were very excited to apply for this school. however... we hadn’t fully thought things through just yet. looking back on it now, he kind of pressured us a little bit, urging us to apply right away so that we could be accepted and start at the school in january 2019. he said that the school would help us find an apartment in toronto and everything. toronto is 2 hours away so of course we’d have to move out to attend this school. now, filling out an application isn’t the bad thing. neither were the short essays we had to write along with the application. i don’t mind applying and even being accepted to this school. what i mind is the price, after realizing that toronto may not be the best idea. the application had a $100 fee, each, and we are extremely extremely extremely broke. but we paid it. they urged us to, made us feel like we had to apply right at that moment and that everything would work out. within just like, 4 or 5 days honestly, of simply requesting some more information about the school, we had applied and paid a non-refundable $200 together. and just a few days after that.... we truly realized how bad of an idea it was. we hadn’t even glanced at other schools to see what our options were. i did mention our worries about money to our admissions adviser for toronto film school, telling him that i have no idea how we are going to pay for all of this and that we may just have to apply for another school--- he brushed me off very quickly. didn’t even consider the option and just told me that everything would be fine and we would find a way to pay for the school and that we should apply as soon as possible so that our spots for january could be saved. he pushed me to apply, and i feel stupid for doing so now. i regret it. if it had just been a written application and all free it would all be fine but what i regret is the two of us losing $200 when we have nothing. we could have used that money to apply for a different school or pay the fee for our driver’s license test and now we have nothing. i am salty about that. i kind of feel scammed. i wish we could get our money back but i’m certain there really is no way... it’s non-refundable. sighs... the issue is, toronto is SO expensive. the school tuition would have been $33,000 each, and we thought we were soooo lucky because they told us ruby wouldn’t have to pay an extra 10k in international fees and instead get the same 33k as me. toronto, being an enormous city, gives you the shittiest, tiniest apartments, for so much money. rent would have been about $1,200 a month for an 18 month program. we were easily looking at about $88,000 that we would have to pay together. god, i am only just realizing just how much that would have been. and that is ONLY for our schooling and housing, not including other utilities and things like food. where would we, jobless as we currently are, GET 88 THOUSAND DOLLARS ??? pluuus, fafsa (american college aid) does not support the toronto film school. however osap (canadian college aid) does. i would have gotten some help for my tuition but ruby, the one who needs the help the most, being in a foreign country with no money and unable to get a job yet, would receive NOTHING. apparently fafsa hardly gives you anything anyways... but something is obviously better than nothing, and she would get nothing.
so toronto film school was a bad idea. i regret spending that $200 application fee. even if we get accepted, i hardly doubt it’s going to happen. i don’t think i want it to happen anymore. the costs scare me too much. we would struggle too much. it would be impossible.
on the bright side, i suppose, we are now considering a better school option. (though that doesn’t make the extreme stress go away, of course. we are still extremely broke). there is a school 40 minutes from my house called the university of western ontario. it’s closer by, so the location is much better and we’d be able to visit home much more often. housing would also be so, so much cheaper. the apartments there are not only much better quality, but larger, and cheaper. i visited an apartment building just today that is literally directly across the street from my favourite mall and a 5 minute walk from the university. it is the perfect location and i’m kind of in love with it. the tuition itself is likely much cheaper as well. i have not requested any information from this school yet so i have no idea how much exactly a video game program would cost, but when i quickly googled the general cost of this school, it told me that it is 8k for canadian students and 24k for international students. yep, international fees, which the toronto film school apparently didn’t have. it’s not very fair that i have to pay only 8k possibly while ruby has to pay 24k, but 24k is still much cheaper than 33k. that is nine thousand dollars we would save. PLUS, fafsa actually supports this university. we highly hope that they would give ruby a decent amount of money, though she says they hardly help at all. they gave her only a few hundred when she applied to a californian college once that she didn’t end up attending, and her sister actually started college extremely recently and they gave her absolutely nothing. so... there’s a chance they won’t help much. there’s also a chance that since she’s going to school in a whole other country rather than in the US, they might give her more for that. but we have no idea how much they might give her until she applies for it. we can only hope that it’s a good amount. though... any little bit helps. at least at this university she will get something.
so the university of western ontario sounds heaven sent. just one problem. they might not have a video game program. and we reaaally want to go into video game development.... it took me two years to decide what career i wanted in life because none of them bring me happiness !!!!! i don’t want to miss out on this one now that i finally decided on it !!!! but there is still hope. western university does list a video game program on their website, they just say that it is currently closed. however i have seen articles published in just 2017 about how western is “one of the best schools for video game development”. i wonder, if it’s so great and those articles were posted just last year, how can they have the program unavailable ! what i am hoping is that they only mean it is unavailable for the current year, which would make sense. the school year just started, it is too late too apply. but we weren’t planning on attending until 2019. perhaps, perhaaaaps... they do still have the program and it will be open again in 2019, when we wanted to attend ? however i cannot confirm this until i contact the school, which i will do soon... i really hope this is the case. if western university offered video game design and had all of these other perks, it would be literally perfect.
(but we are still very poor and very stressed out and afraid)
currently, we need to finish getting our driver’s licenses. we, especially ruby, need $150 each just to do the test... then i need to get a job. and ruby needs to get accepted into a school so she can get a study permit and work permit and she can get a job. and then we have to purchase (yes purchase, not rent, my dad claims it’s the better option) an apartment, move out, and juggle school, work, and life all at the same time, while also working to make ruby a canadian citizen. phew ! ! !
ruby has considered making a gofundme and i think that we will do it soon... i don’t know if anyone would donate, they didn’t when i tried to make a gofundme a few years ago when my dog had cancer. but we can hope. any bit that any one would donate would help us with something. so i think that we will do it. we’ll probably post the link on here once we have it, in case any of you would be able to, and be kind enough to, help us out ;w; how does that sound...? does anyone here think they would be able to donate something once we have that link..? we are wondering whether we can expect to get any sort of help from here ;w; ... apart from that and getting jobs, i’m not sure how we can make some extra money... we will need as much of it as we can get if we want to make it through this without struggling terribly. i wish either of us were particularly good at something to sell on etsy or commissions or... i don’t know. i don’t know what else we can do.
anyway, that leaves us where we are now ! we have a lot on us that we need to accomplish but.. we will try to get through it. we will get through it. together. because i still can’t believe she’s here. i can’t believe this is happening. that we never have to say goodbye and we can begin work on keeping her here forever. it’s an amazing, amazing thing, but it has its difficulties. but we have already gone through so much together. it truly is 20gayteen. at the beginning of this year, we had never even met in real life yet, and we didn’t know yet that we would. in april, we met, and when she left we didn’t expect to be back together so soon. and even then, we had no idea that this would happen. that she would stay here and we would be looking to begin college and move out together. god, the things that have happened this year. wow. Wow. i have a hard time believing that this is real, that i’m not dreaming. i never thought something like this could happen. tomorrow is our 17 month anniversary, and we are together.
(sorry this was so long !! we’ve been waiting really long to update you guys on All of the things that have happened c: thank you so much if you managed to read the whole thing, and we’d love to chat about it more if you’d like to send an ask about anything ! ...remember, my melania trump airplane story... and i hope that when we create a gofundme in a couple of days, any of you will be able to help us out !! ;w; love you all !!! 💖💖💖)
085 with peter b and eddie brock?
Fluffy Prompts: 085: “It’s 2 am but you’re craving cake and we’re both up anyway so let’s bake in our underwear.”
Tumblr media
They’ve spent a good half hour trying to put the report together, grouping pictures side-by-side with words. Since making their own reporting website, they’ve found better work. It was their own little business, every click a bit of ad revenue. And though the truth was hard to find sometimes, they got out of their ways to make sure it was somewhere other people could find it. Once it was uploaded, Peter leaning in his spot of the couch a bit more as Eddie had his arms around him, they shared a lazy celebratory kiss.
Peter glanced at the clock in the corner of his screen, yawned, and allowed his head to lean on the other’s shoulder. Venom slithered from Eddie’s other shoulder, a string of themselves going up from his neck to allow them to comfortably sit on top of Peter’s head. The more and more time Peter spent with Eddie, the more comfortable Venom got with this, essentially feeding off of this love and affection Eddie felt whenever around him.
“Y’know, little buddy, I’m not sure what you’re doing in there but, whatever it is, it’s making me hungry for some cake.” He pat his womb, where their child was, and pouted a bit. Neither of them expected this to happen, with Peter thinking he was infertile the moment he had his first shot of T, but- accident or not- they were going to raise this child with all they could. “Hey, guys, lets go bake some.”
It’s only been five weeks, with Peter throwing up in the morning every day and his constantly changing cravings, but Eddie and Venom were already taking to the pregnancy pretty well. In fact, teaching Venom about it was one of their pastimes. Neither of them knew enough about it to really teach them about it but, with a quick google search and the experience to back up the claims, the symbiote was starting to learn.
Whatever the effects of having radioactive spider-power blood and an alien symbiote in your body were to a child, they didn’t have a clue. All they knew was that it was fine, and that they didn’t need to mention anything about it. So long as the baby was going to be fine in the end, they didn’t see any reason to mention the little…supernatural things that might get in the way.
“Peter, it’s two in the morning. Are you sure?” Eddie’s head leaned a bit on Peter’s, arm moving to rest over his shoulder. He knew a thing or two about helping others in these situations, just a bit more than Peter- though, it’d be better if Peter had his own little experience to help himself- knowing enough that his morning sickness may strike somewhere soon.
“Yup. Come on, Eddie. V, help me get him up.” Peter stood up, stretched his back out, and pulled the other up by the arms. Venom didn’t do much; they simply observed from Eddie’s shoulder. When he was on his own feet, Peter made his way to the kitchen, dragging Eddie along. “If you won’t help, I’ll make it myself. That’s right, little guy, dad’s gonna get this cake done on his own without the help of his other husbands.”
Again, Peter pat where their child was. He could handle things on his own; the doctor only warned him to avoid certain foods and to do certain things when he felt this or that. Nothing out of the ordinary that would get him to not be able to do the usual, except for putting a pause on the Spiderman business. That, sadly, was something Peter had to sacrifice for a while; once this human being was out of his body and he’s had the time to adjust, he could get back to swinging around New York.
“Oh, fine, fine.” His human husband gave in, pulling out the cake mix from the cupboard and lifting it towards the symbiote riding his shoulder to allow them the chance to observe it. It got Peter to chuckle, reminding him of ratatouille. Eddie opened up the box, placing the plastic bag of the mix on the counter as he unknowingly placed the box into the trash. It took Venom looking back to remind him that they indeed weren’t done with it. “Oh, shit. Right.”
“Hey, not in front of the kid.” Again, he chuckled, giving Eddie a soft slap with the back of his hand to Eddie’s unoccupied shoulder. It was a joke, Eddie knew well, but Venom watched with a look of confusion. They still didn’t understand much about this.
{| THEY CANNOT HEAR YOU. THEY ARE TOO YOUNG AND, TO MY UNDERSTANDING, HAVE NOT DEVELOPED THE ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU’VE SAID |}
He probably shouldn’t have but Peter laughed, Eddie chuckling soon after as he gave a pat to the symbiote’s ‘head’, fishing out the box with the ingredients and the instructions. Thankfully, there was nothing within the trash that would’ve hindered it useless. Eddie tried to fish for something to help, but it wasn’t easy. “Yeah, we know. It’s like a fun little joke, y’know?”
And, hell, maybe their kid could hear them. They’re the product of Spiderman, Venom, and the world’s greatest reporter; Peter wouldn’t be too surprised if they popped out the womb with the full ability to speak. It’s almost expected, really. How far could they keep this up without mentioning it to their doctor?
Eddie got two eggs out, balancing them on the counter and making sure they wouldn’t roll off to the floor. When that was settled, he got out a measuring cup. Peter, on the other hand, prepared a cake tin, a plastic bowl, and a wooden spoon. As Eddie was measuring out a cup and a half of water, Peter got to dumping all of the mix into the bowl. A dust cloud of it got in his nose, Peter coughing out with a laugh.
He coughed into his fist, Eddie noticing and placing the cup to the side so that he could come over to help. But Peter stuck out his free hand, laughing off the little incident. “I’m fine, I’m fine. Get back to filling that cup. Do we need to preheat the oven?”
The other shrugged it off, Venom watching Peter as Eddie gestured over to the box on the counter, making sure that he wasn’t going to get injured. It took a moment for Peter to remember how the oven worked at all- he sat there, kneeled down in front of it for a while- and turned the knobs according to package instructions.
Everything was going a lot smoother than the last time they baked anything, with nothing burning just yet. Then again, they haven’t gotten anything mixed just yet. Peter cracked the two eggs into the bowl, taking a wooden spoon out of a little cup and stirring as Eddie poured in the water. As he poured the batter into the tin, he hesitated halfway. It felt like they were missing something but, without knowing what it was, he didn’t bother to stop.
“Okay. Last thing is to just put it in, right?” Eddie itched at the back of his head, Peter reading the back of the box again just to be sure. Yup, this was it. All they had to do left was stick it in the oven and wait for a while. So, Eddie took the tin and knelt down, Venom trailing towards his back to observe Peter’s stomach. Or, actually, his womb. Not much to see now, really.
But, with Eddie like this, Peter took this as a chance to let his splayed hand slap Eddie across the ass. He jolted a bit in the surprise but wasn’t at all mad about it, shaking his head and closing the appliance before getting up and giving Peter a few playful slaps to the chest. “Hey, hey! Not in front of the kid!”
Again, Venom found this odd, but didn’t question it. Instead, they observed where the offspring was supposed to be. It didn’t move, or make a sound, or anything else; it was simply there. They knew it was alive in there but it was really hard to think of a reason as to why they’d ever talk directly to it, or even think it was listening.
But Venom didn’t mind all that much; they were just as excited as the other two were about the child.
“Hey, while we wait, want to think of baby names?” Peter leaned against the counter again, one leg over the other with a hand over his stomach as the other kept his weight up on the marble. The other two agreed that it’d be a nice pastime, listing off the generic names and having fun with it. At this point, with the two of them holding each other in the living room, they weren’t trying all that much.
“Okay, okay. How about…Lee.”
“Wait, just Lee? Like, earlier you said Optimus Prime. And then you said Toaster. Then you said Pumba.”
“Well, duh; imagine his school ID. Brock, Lee.” Peter let out a hearty laugh, Eddie soon joining after as Venom was quietly observing the two of them. It was dumb, yeah, but they seemed happy. The symbiote fed off of that love and care, enjoying it overall.
“You want our kid to get bullied?” It was simply the nature of Spiderman- of Peter Brock-Parker- to be witty and comical. Eddie couldn’t do much, if anything at all, to change this; it somewhat charmed him. “You’re insane, Peter.”
Then, there was the burning smell. It came from the kitchen and the two of them knew instantly what it was; they’d forgotten about the cake. They got off each other, stumbling their way inside to open the oven and Peter quickly got the window open to try and get the little bit of smoke out. “Yeah, I’m a bit insane. But I wasn’t the one who was supposed to remind me of the cake.”
No big deal- they’ve eaten worse. But, to their dismay, the realised a missed step; they didn’t coat the tin in anything to avoid the cake from sticking to it. So, when Eddie pulled it out of the oven and fanned away the fumes, he nervously laughed by Peter’s side. They could eat it straight from the tin, that wouldn’t be an issue, but now it looked unappealing.
“So, are you craving anything else or is it still cake?”
Paris.
It’s been about three weeks since I’ve been back, the disoriented new non-newness of the city and jet lag have settled its shiny dust only revealing the same old patterns.
Still living at my ex-boyfriend’s, absolutely unable to admit that this is the ground zero for my malaise and plain old bummer feelings. Every time I brace myself to get out there, starting looking at apartment listings, getting rid of old shit, my ego rolls out the usual arsenal of conflicting thoughts and feelings when Lord (i.e. my true self hidden beneath this shit-avalanche) knows I should’ve been out years ago doing my own thing.
It is absolutely no wonder why, in this very moment, no matter how many times I try in vain to re-arrange this apartment to suit me, that I feel incredibly stifled to communicate just about anything. It’s at a point where my dependence on Yoann is on full display, which is only worsened by the fact that I can’t help but feel judged by those fucking invisible “others” in my head.
This time I’m trying not to digress too, too far off the subject. My food. The record of all the food that goes into my body.
For the first two weeks of my arrival, I was just so happy to be back but I borderline starved myself and ate very irregularly. I would (and usually I still do) eat a piece of fruit in the morning accompanying my usual cup of coffee (which I managed to abstain from for a few days during the worst of the my jet lag) then run around the city, refusing to eat anywhere that wasn’t deemed a favorite go-to or a new place I wanted to try. I also tried to refrain from indulging in croissants and baked good from the shit/industrial bakery downstairs...but you know, urges happened.
Week 1:
 I actually ate at home most of the time, a bowl of muesli with red fruits from the primeur, then subsisting off time Monoprix brand buckwheat crepes, comté, eggs and wilted spinach. Made a first batch of ratatouille full of love and inspiration which I (pretty much finished) with quinoa over the course of a few days, then a second batch I hastily threw together for lack of better ideas and guilt for wanting to eat out too much, marking the beginning of a downhill.
Week 2:
Ate a unbelievably heavy “salad” with potatoes smothered in blue cheese and cantal, topped with charcuterie awkwardly at a “Chez Papa” franchise with Seb in the 19th next to Place des Fetes, meeting him for the very first time. Then ate a giant steak dinner at Brutos for my birthday. It was unabashed gluttony that left me feeling sick at the end of it, and of course I was in a weird confrontational mood after eating a cannabis mint from earlier that day and ended the night fighting with Yoann over nothing, naturally.
This marked the downhill into weird, unhealthy starvation like patterns and eating out more than I want to. That following Saturday I had my usual muesli or some small breakfast thing before going to a TRX class in the 8th off the Madeleine then got so caught up wandering around the city, selectively starving myself until I ended up having an unsatisfying late lunch at the Tajine spot at the Marche des Enfants Rouges. I wanted to get the vegetarian dish, but didn’t listen to myself and got the chicken.
That Sunday, I met up with Tonton Francois in Porte de Choisy and just let myself go and eat myself go as I do at all family functions. There is a certain comfort I associated to Vietnamese/southeast Asian foods that makes me go fucking nuts.
Tuesday September 26 (going off my calendar now), I ate and drank the shit out of Mary Celeste taking full advantage of Lucie’s employee discount. Over aesthetically plain beef cheek croquettes, grilled courgette topped with feta, a reorder of the vegan tofu dishes served with pickled aubergines, and a frangipane-like variation of a tarte aux pommes so good that it was hard to savor, we commiserated about anything and everything. She even accompanied me to ISTR down the street to satiate my undeniable craving for oysters (which in the end were not that great). My vegan homegirl #1.
Week 3:
Then I spent the last few days in anxious isolation/withdrawal (i think i tried Abri Soba somewhere in between?) anticipating work for fashion week, when dietary shit really hit the fan. Ten Belles Bread catering every, damn, day. The total abundance and excess of fruit, snacks, catered food, completely overwhelmed my senses and left me completely vulnerable to shoveling everything into my face in front of everyone, struggling to communicate with my signature, bastardized blend of French and English that left my French coworkers bewildered most of the time who sometimes just smiled politely in return. By the third or second day in, I had given up my ritual morning coffee entirely in lieu for anywhere from 4 - 6 (I honestly lost count) shitty, toxic Nespresso capsule coffees all the while running around not knowing what to really expect.
Sleep was replaced with laying down with my eyes squeezed shut with tension that pulsed throughout my body, and with lack of appropriate footwear (fuck you Nike Huaraches) my life force drained directly through my aching lower extremities.
During this week, I went back to the very old and (shameful) habit of Deliveroo. One night during a thunderous, torrential downpour I managed to find exactly one shop that delivered coconut curry soup, which I added some soba noodles I had found which restored me back to life temporarily....
That Friday night, the first day of rest/freedom actively spent doing as little as possible, getting a coffee at Fontaine de Belleville then later meeting Rosie on the canal and inevitably ending up at Ten Belles (in general I go there way more often than I’d like to admit, not for taste or vibe but completely out of location and convenience factor). That night Yoann and I went to Wanted for a pizza dinner, again finding myself in a stormy, confrontational mood that overflowed with uncontrollable anger at the end of the night when he just retired to bed with a book instead of entertaining me further. I knocked over all the chairs in the living room, my heart stricken with unidentifiable, unjustified rage to the point that I had to call my parents for support and to calm me down.
Week 4:
Had sex in the morning that left me in tears and feeling empty after orgasm.
Saturday send-off meal at the new Holybelly with my Polish connection/fashion week crew. Poached eggs, haloumi, mushrooms, and bacon (furnished by the beast) with gluten-free cornbread option out of curiosity. Everything was just as i remembered except laden in grease and fat, which lead me to wonder how I went through three years of eating this for staff meal. The mushrooms left a oil trail, which I was definitely guilty of overseasoning time and again when I was a cook back there, and the bacon was just as salty, floppy, and undercooked as I remember...could not even finish it. Haloumi was good, but couldn’t really enjoy it knowing that it came from the Oriental markets up the street towards Belleville. I ignored the call from my body to stop in exchange for a gentle stroke of my ego to quality check my pecan coffee cake which was now their staple dessert. I relished superficially as Sven and Romain devoured their pieces, while I left half of mine as we got up to leave...extra points for the ego discovering Sven had eaten the rest of it while I was in the bathroom.
After my food coma had settled, I went back out to get a jump rope from Go Sport at Republique...a sort of subconscious act of repent. Jump roped. Waited for Yoann to get back from his bike ride. Had violent, overindulgent, excessive amounts of post-menstrual make-up sex that set off the cycle of dependency once more.
Went out for cocktails to the show him Le Comptoire Generale, then picked up some burgers from OBU on the way back. Only got some fries, ate borderline bad beef noodle salad leftover from fashion week (gross.). Fell asleep watching blade runner.
Following day, ate a somber, bland meal at Le Bichat for dinner after he came home from Parc Asterix again as some subconscious act of repent.
Made a modest beef bolognese with the leftover tomatoes in the fridge that has us Monday and last night. Still feeling incredibly gross and guilty for using industrial ground beef from Monoprix.
