Welcome to the tumblr cosmere fandom! Here's a list of common tags. I encourage you to use these tags to find the things you want and block what you don't want! Fellow tumblrinas feel free to add to this list:
#cosmere, #brandon sanderson, #cosmere fandom - general or wide ranging cosmere stuff
#cfsbf (cosmere fandom still best fandom) - for heartwarming stuff
#cfswf (cosmere fandom still worst fandom) - angst fics, complaining about other fans, hot takes from Brandon
#cremposting memes and such
Series tags! #Stormlight Archive, #Stormlight archives, #the Stormlight Archive, #tsa, #sla. Similarly, #Mistborn, #Mistborn era 1, #Mistborn era 2.
Spoilers! People are pretty good at tagging their spoilers. If you want to avoid spoilers for a book, block "book title", "title spoilers", and "acronym spoilers" and that should help you stave off the worst of it. Ex. #the lost metal, #the lost metal spoilers, #tlm spoilers. For a series, #mistborn spoilers. I've seen #secret project 1, #sanderson secret projects, #ssp1 spoilers, etc for the Secret Projects.
For characters, you might find different things by using first name only, full name, name plus topic. Ex #Shallan, #Shallan Davar, #Shallan fanart. For characters with common first names and no last name like Lift, use Stormlight as the last name, #lift stormlight. Same with #vin mistborn. Hoid's name is #hoid cosmere, of course ;).
Fanart! #stormlight fanart, #mistborn fanart, #arts arcanum
Fanfic! #stormlight fanfic, #mistborn fanfiction, #cosmere fic, #cosmere RP
Shipping! Here are some common ship names for your finding or blocking pleasure - #Kadolin, #Shalladin, #Shakadolin, #Syladin, #Kalinar, #Stormthorn, #KalMoash, #Rlainarin, #Kalarin, #Ravani, #Navaniel, and a lot more. You might also come across this format: #Kal x Moash, #Kaladin x Sigzil, etc.
Days of the week! #Moash loving Monday, #Rlain Rlendsday, #Thaidakar Thursday, #Mistborn fortnite friday
#zellionsweep if you want to pursue scholarship of the Zellion reveal and associated tumblr lore
Discourse! #discourse, #sanderson critical, #fan critical, #cosmere critical (sometimes shortened to crit), #moash discourse, #fuck moash - heavier discussions of important topics in the fandom
Sex stuff! #cosmere kink meme, #cosmere kink will turn up older writing prompts and short fics. #stormlight kink meme is a newer tag!
Some tips:
You can put spaces in tags!
If you add commentary in the tags, your followers, and anyone who looks in the tags specifically, will see your comments. Tags don't get reblogged unless someone likes them enough to add them to the post via screenshot or retyping them.
Add alt text to all images you upload, whether it's art or screenshots or memes. Because of Tumblr's ability to have longer text posts, it's also reasonable to add image descriptions to reblogs if the original image doesn't have alt text. Reblog and tag described posts with #described, #image description, #id in alt text, #alt text, #cosmere described to make it easier for people using screen readers to find it. Tag undescribed images with #undescribed or #not described so people using screen readers can block it.

idk i just think that the two aspects of sanderson’s perspective on oppression that piss me off the most is the way that marginalized anger and violence are both viewed as both morally wrong and personally unhealthy, and that racism is something that is only the fault of those who are intentionally racist, and not those who are complicit in the system, both supporting and benefiting from it. it also behaves like the conversation on marginalization should center on the actions and attitude of the oppressed and not the oppressors like we really had a whole ass #not all lighteyes arc like all the poc readers really sat there like “wow kaladin’s bitterness and experiences resonate with me so much and validate my own hurt and anger :^)” only for sanderson to be like “and that was wrong and bad and kaladin needed to personally grow out of *checks notes* being oppressed” like they really pulled that on us.

thinking about how the only fleshed-out friendships we see between women who aren't related in stormlight are
1) Jasnah & Shallan's wardship which is basically dropped as a plot point in wor and resolved completely offscreen. do shallan and jasnah even have a single conversation in row
2) Navani & Raboniel (well.. "friendship") which ends with Navani killing Raboniel
feminism wins <3 😍

white cosmere fandom really is like “we feel empathy for systematically oppressed characters.... but only the ‘good ones’ who handle their trauma in a way that doesn’t make me feel uncomfortable and threaten my notions of correct forms of resistance”

One of the most interesting things here for me is the overlap between critical role blogs and compete/Brandon Sanderson blogs. Its not something anyone would probably have foreseen, but looking back at it it makes so much sense-a shared love of representation, beautiful arcing plots, and incredible world building are the main similarities between the two.

a pie chart with bright, not particularly cohesive colors against a white background with black handwritten labels. From largest to smallest, the sections are:
Arts Arcanum, Bastard Fantasy Jesus Fortnight Mistborn (Friday), Lit Crit, Theories, WOR Duel, Wob! Wob! Wob! Wob!, Rlainarin, Other S.A mains, Adolin, Vivenna (and Warbreaker too I guess), Other, Bridge four, annoying flute guy, navaniel

I don’t even know what came over me that urged me to make this, but this is how I perceive the amount of content created for various cosmere things. It’s pretty much based off of what‘s come accross my dash in the last couple of days, or whatever lives in my head 24/7, and is therefore not based off of actual facts in any way, shape, or form. Also I really didn’t feel like coming up with colors, so I just used one of the ones that Procreate had but completely out of order and wow. That is absolutely atrocious isn‘t it?

🎲 + 🧸 one more!
🎲 ⇢ what stops you from writing more in your free time?
LITERALLY JUST THINKING ABOUT THIS TODAY okay so I am learning that I am not a multitasker. Reading other cosmere books has interfered with my memory of Stormlight. So if I'm writing WoR era I need to be actively rereading WoR and also have at least an hour of laying down imagination time. I also need: - Very little media (more than an hour of TV will empty my imaginative capacity) - Very little on my to do list (for example doing taxes causes enough thinking and looking around a screen that it wipes my ability to plan a scene of fic) And of course right now I'm so so grateful I am able to spend more hours sitting up, but that also means I'm giving my precious imaginative energies to helping out around the house where I couldn't before. It's a real and/both scenario.
I'm not giving up though, I just need to rethink my plans/schedule. Doing RPs is easier, I can do that (mostly). Planning my longfic might be off the table until either I crash again and have hours of laying down time in the dark, or I hit a new plateau and become capable of doing two things. Overall it's a good sign, it's just...gah. I hate change and I love writing. It's frustrating.
🧸 ⇢ what's the fastest way to become your mutual?
Post exclusively about the cosmere, and keep things light. Sanderson crit is fine; what I mean is keep that beautiful 5:1 minimum ratio of positive to negative stuff, and my heart will remain calm. I have to be really protective of my heart rate (which can skyrocket really quickly) so I gotta stay in my lane to keep my stress low. I love following cosmere sideblogs!

ok lit crit hat is on and today i wanna talk about *spins wheel* model minorites and marginalized anger in words of radiance! if we look at kaladin’s actual treatment of adolin in wor, he’s grumpy and a little distant but he doesn’t actually antagonize adolin, while, for the first part of wor at least, adolin actively antagonizes him (calling him names, etc.) consider this specific conversation in ch 68 where adolin says “you’re good at military thinking, for a bridgeboy” and kaladin responds with “coincidentally, you’re good at not being unobnoxious, for a prince.” and once adolin’s out of earshot, shallan starts lecturing kaladin about his “”bad attitude”” because he insulted adolin.  even though it was a response to adolin specifically making a joke involving kaladin’s trauma / class status. and then kaladin points out that adolin calls him bridgeboy, and shallan completely dismisses him. the entire conversation reads like a microagression and kaladin’s anger gets completely shut down. kaladin’s general bitterness is viewed as a bigger problem than the lighteyes’ casual racism. this is a pattern in wor: it fundamentally views marginalized anger as both (a) unjustified and (b) unhealthy, which i think is a major flaw in sanderson’s perspective

Sanderson's obsession with having an explanation for every aspect of his worlds leads to both his best and worst creative choices imo. like can we have detailed structured magic systems WITHOUT the justifications for oppression please
