Okay, but seeing Awakened!Ravage has me curious as to what the rest of the cassettes might be like in the Fantasyformers. Like, Laserbeak and Buzzsaw are both canonically referred to as types of condor, there's Ratbat who may or may not have been a corrupt Senator who got his brain moved into a tiny cassette body, Rumble and Frenzy running around swapping paint and being menaces, and that's just the old cartoon-!!!

OKAY SO!!

in my mind, Soundwave is some version of a druid or oath of ancients paladin, possibly a bit of both, and he's got a whole menagerie of little assholes who follow him around either because of his druidic power (ratbat, ravage, buzzsaw, and laserbeak) or because they are his squires and are trying to learn from him.

in my mind, Frenzy is more interested in learning soundwave's offensive magic, and rumble is more interested in learning his battle tactics and beast mastery.

I reckon a lot of Yanks really overstate the actual material importance of 9/11 and it's fallout. At most you could say that it helped to accelerate trends that had been progressing for decades (like the creation of a surveillance state or the privatization of military functions) or intensified- at least in terms of open expression- features of the nation that had been present for most of its existence (like Jingoism and xenophobia). It's not as though the US became any more Imperialistic even if we focus only on West Asia and North Africa. They'd been couping and bombing the region for the entire Cold War and showed no signs of stopping in the 90s. After the US ambassador April Glaspie helped to instigate the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait President Bush used it as a pretense to unleash a devestating war on Iraq and (while maintaining crippling sanctions) much of the US military-political establishment was salivating at the idea of a round two. Like hell before they figured out the culprits behind the 9/11 attacks many officials were trying to pin it on Saddam Hussein-they were pretty much planning the Iraq war before the Afghanistan one.

Al Qaeda had been on the US's radar since their 1998 embassy bombings in Kenya-later that year President Clinton had used the false pretence of an Al Qaeda nerve gas manufacturing operation to blow up a Sudanese medicine factory to distract from a domestic political scandal. Like the biggest thing that 9/11 changed was the US's own self perception as the general public was forced to reckon with the impacts of their nations imperialism and the hatred this engendered in the rest of the world, but this only really led to a doubling down of pre-existing attitudes of exceptionalism and superiority and the righteous application of brutality to any that resisted.

But even as domestic attitudes changes it's not as though foreign policy did all that much. The USA had been using torture as a tactic for a long time (just look at Operation Condor or the Phoneix Program) they just now felt a lot less shame in admitting it. And it's not as if the post 9/11 waves of paranoia and hatred these attacks generated were without precedent; in many ways Islamic Terrorists became a convenient replacement for Communists or (looking back even further) "Indians" in the USamerican psyche. Hell it's not as though pre 9/11 attitudes towards the Islamic world were all that positive either (at most you could say the hatred was a lot less active and intense).

I'll admit that I'm looking at this from a much more detached perspective than many others-I'm not a Yank and I'm too young to remember the attacks when they happened. So I'm sure for USamericans the attacks and the social changes they engendered felt like the most shocking things imaginable. But in the grand scheme of things they didn't matter all that much; at most they just pushed the US further along a path they had been on for a long time and showed no signs of straying from. Even if you went back in time and personally stopped the hijackings I doubt the world of today would look all that different. Certainly wouldn't feel any different for the billions of people suffering under the USamerican imperial yoke just as they had been before

Is so fuck up that the most things say about the genocide in Palestine is "cease fire" like would stop them from been under colonization. The most thing say should and must be "elimination of Israel and colonization ". They have no right to be in Palestine, Congo or any other Global South territory, as USA, UK, Germany, France, Canada, China, Russia, etc have zero right to be in Palestine or any other country that is not their countries. No colonies, no apartheid, no invasion, no imperialism. Remember when ppl was totally on board of go guerrilla mode to Ukraine to fight against Russia? Why u all so ok with go to fight to defend a racist xenophobic neo nazi state (which don't deserve colonization either, but hear this) and then u "remember" that Palestine and (Africa really) has been under invasion and colonialist for decades and centuries even, but hey, now rising in arms is bad and no a single person has speak about it?

We know that most of u will not have the knowledge to do a shit in Palestine territory, but where is the spirit? Where is all that which make dudes want to go to ukraine? Gone huh? So is only valid and important when is about fascist europeam white ppl, but not when is Global South ppl. Where are all the tankies huh? All the so called guerrilleros now? Ppl love to full their mouth with past or recent history of, for example, how ppl from all over the world went to fight in the Spanish civil war and how they were real leftists and all that. Now? Now u can't even boycott shit properly. Do u even know how many invasions, dictatorships and colonizations are right now?

So is not just cease fire, is get the fuck out of other ppls land. Is not just about Palestine, and at the same time everything's is about Palestine bc it has become more than clear that western countries have seen now that they can openly do whatever they want, plain sight, shown in every media, and ppl will not fight them, will not bomb their war companies and factories, will not fight the normality of daily life. The far right is openly taking the world, and ppl behave like is normal. We can't even join all the oppressed groups to demand fucking housing or having water, even less fight for other causes. The puppet of Europe and USA is killing Palestinians and neighbours countries. Congo, Sudan, Siria, Chad, Gabon, Burkina Faso, etc etc do u know what's going on in this places??? Did u know that USA has established 16 military bases invading South America this 2023? That is supporting the dictatorship in Argentina? (Yes, they are no longer under democracy). That Operacion Condor 2.0 is in process? That when in 2019 Chile dictatorships under Piñera the weapons, tactics and methods of mutilating where learn at hands of USA /israeli training and their intelligence apparatus? That every weapon has been "tested " on Palestine?

Every single bullet against Global South, every single tactic, every single technology of war, has been and is currently been used in Palestine.

Every attack made against Global South is has been and is an attack to Palestine, as every attack against Palestine is an attack that has reach or will gonna reach South America, Asia, Africa.

The F-117 Nighthawk

The Lockheed F-117A was developed in response to an Air Force request for an aircraft capable of attacking high value targets without being detected by enemy radar. By the 1970s, new materials and techniques allowed engineers to design an aircraft with radar-evading or “stealth” qualities. The result was the F-117A, the world’s first operational stealth aircraft.

SR-71 T-Shirts

Linda has a personal relationship with the SR-71 because her father Butch Sheffield flew the Blackbird from test flight in 1965 until 1973. Butch’s Granddaughter’s Lisa Burroughs and Susan Miller are graphic designers. They designed most of the merchandise that is for sale on Threadless. A percentage of the profits go to Flight Test Museum at Edwards Air Force Base. This nonprofit charity is personal to the Sheffield family because they are raising money to house SR-71, #955. This was the first Blackbird that Butch Sheffield flew on Oct. 4, 1965.

The first F-117A flew on Jun. 18, 1981, and the first F-117A unit, the 4450th Tactical Group (renamed the 37th Tactical Fighter Wing in October 1989), achieved initial operating capability in October 1983.

A total of 59 F-117As were built between 1981 and 1990. In 1989 the F-117A was awarded the Collier Trophy, one of the most prized aeronautical awards in the world.

The F-117A program demonstrated that stealth aircraft with a low radar cross section (RCS) could be conceived, designed and developed, as the following story that appears in Ben Rich’s Book “Skunk Works” proves.

Rich (who served as the second vice president of Lockheed’s Skunk Works after Kelly Johnson) recalls that time Denys Overholser, engineer and radar specialist for Lockheed’s Skunk Works, spoke to him about the first completely stealthy airframe, the F-117.

“How good are your radar-cross-section numbers on this one?” I asked.

“Pretty good.” Denys Overholser grinned impishly. “Ask me, ‘How good?’”

I asked him and he told me. “This shape is one thousand times less visible than the least visible shape previously produced at the Skunk Works.”

“Whoa!” I exclaimed. “Are you telling me that this shape is a thousand times less visible than the D-21 drone?”

“You’ve got it!” Denys exclaimed.

“If we made this shape into a full-size tactical fighter, what would be its equivalent radar signature… as big as what—a Piper Cub, a T-38 trainer… what?”

Denys shook his head vigorously. “Ben, understand, we are talking about a major, major, big-time revolution here. We are talking infinitesimal.”

As big as an eagle’s eyeball

“Well,” I persisted, “what does that mean? On a radar screen it would appear as a… what? As big as a condor, an eagle, an owl, a what?”

“Ben,” he replied with a loud guffaw, “try as big as an eagle’s eyeball.”

Although officially retired in 2008, many F-117s remain airworthy and are used to support limited research and training missions (such as conducting dissimilar air combat training sorties with USAF and US Navy aircraft) missions based on overall cost effectiveness and their ability to offer unique capabilities.

I am sure that Ben Rich is smiling down from heaven knowing that his baby is still active.

Would you happen to have any past posts about Ghost's Classic Outfit, specifically from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022) and 3 (2023)? I used your Modern Warfare 2 cosplay guide for Ghost last year, and I wonder if you have something like it for Ghost's Classic outfit.

I don't have any proper breakdowns of that kit, however there isn't that much to go to it in the first place:

Jacket - Closest I could find was Helikon Tex's PATRIOT Heavy Fleece jacket, in grey.

Chest rig - Condor Outdoors Rapid Assault Chest Rig, the pouches you can find if you cross reference against my past guides.

Pants - Any BDU/Cargo-cut combat pants in Multicam, the style's pretty generic so you have plenty of options to pick from.

Gloves - Oakley SI gloves, either the Factory Pilot or Tactical Touch, whichever has the reinforced knuckle guards.

Boots - Salomon hiking boots, crossreference against what I marked down in my 2.0 guide for the exact model.

Short Chreon

A/N: It is currently 4am but can’t sleep so gonna write this short Chreon thing.

Contains: blood, angst, death, slight gore.

How long had the line been silent? 2? 3 hours? It was starting to make Leon pace in the room Chris had said they would meet. Chris wasn’t answering his phone, the last thing he had sent Leon was a text 10 minutes ago telling him to meet him, exactly where Leon was pacing now.

Nope, this was too long. Leon decides he’s leaving to go search for Chris. Currently they were in Romania, Leon being asked specifically by Chris to help him with something he had been trying to bury for 3 years now. He was supposed to have a week off, but when Chris asks for help, Leon was going to do everything in his power to help him.

Leaving the confines of the small shack they had agreed would be a meeting place, Leon makes his way towards the last area he knew Chris was.

“Condor to Alpha.. Do you read me?!” Leon calls over their comms. Silence, not even a small blip from any of his squad. This was bad. Leon picks up his pace and makes his way around a corner, finding the splayed bodies of Chris’ team.

“Wha-…” He didn’t know what to say really, then it made sense. Chris texted him rather than talking to him over the coms because something was hunting them. From the looks of it they had been attacked by one or more of those half wolf, half man creatures that had been running rampant around the village for a while.

Leon looks at the bodies, most without limbs or even missing their lower half. He then spots Chris, laying face down in the white snow, one arm above his head, the other laying limp by his side. Leon wanted to call Chris’ name so bad as he ran towards him, however he didn’t want to alert whatever had done this. Sliding on his knees in the snow, Leon stops at his side.

“Chris..” Leon has the inflection of a shout in his voice, but comes out as a slightly louder whisper. “Chris, get up!” He says placing hands on his back, wrapping a hand under Chris’ side Leon rolls him to his back.

Chris was bleeding out from giant claw wounds across his front. He tries to stop the bleeding, but it was gushing out with every beat of his heart. He was loosing too much blood, he had lost so much already.

“Chris stay with me! Don’t you dare die!” Leon threatens as he keeps pressure on the gashes, blood spilling out through his fingers.

“Leon?” Came a weak, husky voice as Chris had woken, giving a weak cough.

“Hey, you stay with me. Okay?” Leon demands as he couldn’t do anything but hold his hands on his chest and abdomen. He knew this was futile, but he wasn’t going to give up on Chris this easy.

“Leon.. I’m losing too much blood.” He said trying to bring some reason to Leon’s actions. “I can’t…”

“Shut up! You can’t leave me!” Leon snaps back. He already knew Chris was going to die, but he couldn’t accept it.

“You have to… finish this…” Chris was growing weaker. Reaching to his assault rifle and dragging it to rest on his stomach, he couldn’t find enough strength to hold it up to Leon.

Leon shakes his head. “No.. you’re going to…” Who was he kidding? His emotions get the better of him and he drops his head to Chris’ chest, clutching tight to the torn up tactical vest. Sobs leaving his throat as his shoulders tremble and lurch with each sob.

Chris’ own tears fall, his heart ached knowing he wasn’t going to be there for Leon anymore. A hand reaching to take Leon’s chin, pulling him into a tender kiss. The taste of iron made it to Leon’s mouth as Chris’ blood smeared on his lips in the kiss.

And all too quickly, he was gone. His hand that held Leon’s chin dropping to the snow covered ground as he exhales one last time. Leon stared at Chris’ peaceful face as the wind howled around them. A rage burned deep within him as he grabs Chris’ AR and stands up. He was going to kill EVERY last one of these bastards, then bring Chris’ body home to his sister. He will finish Miranda.. Tonight.

Aside from Queen's Blood, do you like playing any of the other mini-games? What side quests did you like doing?

OKAY, I have sat on this ask for quite some time because I hadn't gotten through much of the game, and even though I have way more ahead of me than behind, I at least have a bit of context outside of just Queen's Blood.

I'm about to go into Upper Junon, so I've gotten to Fort Condor and Jumpfrog. I am TRULY vexed by FC, even though I love tactics games. Even just the very first Protorelic quest featuring FC, I only won with I think 1.17 seconds remaining!! w(ﾟДﾟ)w Safe to say...I'm not exactly looking forward to more of that, but maybe I'll change my mind, idk.

I love Jumpfrog even though I kinda SUCK at it. As predicted, I can't stop laughing long enough to react in a timely manner, but since it's such a simple game that's easy to digest, I can play it over and over again without getting frustrated.

The BEST feeling is still winning QB, though. I'm actually shocked by how much I enjoy it. This is the minigame that I thought I would find tiresome, but it's quite the opposite. Ceaseless retries make me feel less jaded when I fumble, so it's never a pain in the ass like FC.

I'll update once I get further, I know people generally cannot stand the Cosmo Canyon chocobo minigame, so that one I'm kind of dreading. But maybe because it has such a bad rap, it'll be refreshingly Not That Bad by the time I get there.

Gently adjusts his shirt collar a little, neatly pats it down.

Throwing on something more sophisticated than a pair of cargo pants and a tactical vest is nothing but a harmless trick to shepherd wandering thoughts away from focusing on how long he has been stuck out here. Black slacks, a dark shirt, and holy— there’s even a tie. He looks more like he’s ready for a day at the office rather than venturing further down the forest in search of answers he doesn’t know the damn question for. A farce, maybe. But he needs to con his way out of this ( out of the loop lodged within a thousand other loops he fails to break through ).

Strapping the holster onto his thigh before pushing the gun into it, suddenly, like a dog hearing a familiar clink at the door, his head lifts instantly and boundless blues widen upon sensing someone else’s fingertips tracing around the seams of the collar. Leon freezes. Hands stop mid-air at his waist level as his chin raises by an inch or two more, letting Annie fix his shirt without a hint of objection on his side. And patiently, he waits & he smiles.

“ All good now? ” Palms clothed in leather land atop her hands gracing his collar with a few finishing touches; the agent’s heart hammers inside the confines of his ribcage, most likely furiously enough for the steady yet emphatic vibrations to trickle higher up for her to feel. It’s a realisation that dawns upon him after a silent moment shared. A caring squeeze, and he lets go. Head canting off to the side, he clears his throat with a nervous chuckle and spins on his heels towards the door, just slightly. “ Well… Thanks. I’d hate to face the monstrosities and not look my best. ”

I'm finishing up the mission on Junon where Cloud and Co go undercover and just watching Cloud lose himself in the role, genuinely getting ATTACHED to the Seventh Infantry and me then having to escort my baby infantry ducklings around as they murder other Shinra troops out of the mistaken belief they are on the other side made me FEEL A LOT OF THINGS. Like holy shit that’s insane even typing it out. And kinda dark and a little twisted. And potentially fucks those poor Infantry troops over yet they are STILL rode or die for Cloud. I wasn't expecting to get socked in the feels as much as I did.

Because Cloud is so detached and emotionally standoffish, watching him seriously get into the role of playing at the Captain of the Seventh Infantry is hella significant.

And I think it's because it's so familiar and something he is missing. He misses the camaraderie and brotherhood of serving. Sure, he moved onto becoming a SOLDIER and who was his damn role model/sempai? Zack Fair who is one of the most big-hearted, best big brother energy dude ever. So of course he would subconsciously internalize that's what a good leader should do. Sure, there was also Sephiroth but he's clearly the worst and reflects what bad leadership skills would be.

So yeah, I think there's a part of Cloud that misses serving, or at least misses that sense of brotherhood. He's been a lone wolf for so long, I can't imagine he's not starved for that kind of connection. It's also prolly easier and less complicated than the relationships he has with the main party.

Okay so that's me being all philosophical. Now let me be a degenerate and horny on main for a second.

Holy fuck nuggets Rufus is so hot. He's ALWAYS been hot but he's especially hot and v. Ice Prince-y and I fucking love it. I am laughing at the absurdity of his clothing and how it continually gets more complicated and ridiculous. He legitimately looks like he's wearing a fucking farthingale with that ridiculous belt collection he's wearing. Or yanno....bdsm gear. XD

Somehow they have managed to take Roche who was already at Maito Gai levels of over the time 100% energy and made him even MORE ridiculously and over the top. I lowkey wish he would stop talking. I have an excellent solution on how to do that and that is for Cloud to shut him up by fucking him until his brains bleed out of his ears over his stupid bike. Or yanno, there are other ways to shut him up varying from gag and other creative things to occupy his mouth with.

Even though it's clear Cloud is pretty hetero-coded but after like 25 years of soooooo much Sephiroth/Cloud, Zack/Cloud fan content, I don't think that's going to stop the internet (or myself) from shipping him like a fandom bike. Hell I actually love Cloud/Tifa cause I am a disgusting multi-shipper.

Ahem. Anyway I hope Cloud gets to reunite with his Seventh Infantry people at some point. I think I'm like.....1/3 of the way through the game and holy shit. I've discovered I detest minigames. I love side-missions in games but fuck DDR minigames or that damn in real time strategy game Fort Condor. There's a reason I've never been interested in FF Tactics.

EDIT: OMG Red XIII going full on Karen Mode and demanding to speak to the bartender/employee who won’t let him play in the Queen’s Blood tournament because he’s an ‘animal’ is the funniest shit I’ve seen so far in this game. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

EDIT 2: never mind, Red going full on Chester Cheetah/Michael Jackson absolutely takes the cake. I’m ded. I also stayed up way too late beaten this freaking queens blood tournament mini game and I really gotta go to bed now.

Do you think there’s anything on a meta level with Leon’s code name Condor 1? I just find it interesting. A condor is a vulture/carrion eater. And Ashley’s I know is a nod to her being the presidents daughter, but an eagle is a considered an Old World vulture (found in Europe and Asia). Idk, just a thought. I found it interesting cause why associate Leon with a corpse eater?

BECAUSE IT SOUNDS AMERICAN AS FUCK AND WE LOVE OUR BALD EAGLES (that we endangered because we don't actually care) SO WE GOTTA KEEP THAT BIRD THEME GOING FUCK YEAH

ok but on a more serious note

the California condor is the largest bird in North America and can be mistaken for a bald eagle at a distance, so I guess it makes sense to tie them together as a pair.

its head also kinda looks like a ballsack so maybe that's a commentary on Leon

but I mean

also "Condor" is the name of a company that makes & supplies the US military with tactical gear. but I doubt Capcom knows that.

I think they just thought it sounded military appropriate and fit with the whole bird thing, honestly.
