Bruce Wayne feared death more than anything else. It had not always been that way. He did not particularly think about it when he was a child, until a particular night and a robber. And then death was all he could think of.

Death followed him after that too. It brought him his first son and took away his second. That loss almost broke him and were it not for Tim he would have completely lost himself.

And of course who could forget his own " death" that tore his family apart, again to be saved by Tim.

But Bruce refused to let death define him and even more vehemently he refused to ever cause it. And now it was easier than ever.

It was all because of Danny. Danny was bright, cheerful and funny. He was laid back and calm under any circimstance, but also passionate and hard working and clever. He was so alive.

It was no wonder Bruce fell so fast for the brilliant inventor. And best of all, his children liked Danny too. Even Damian had warmed up to him.

For the first time in years Bruce didn't feel like death followed him everywhere. Danny was just so full of life it was imposible to not feel it too.

to be honest, so far? top hasn't done anything for me to dislike him.

he hasn't lied and he hasn't disrespected mew, and he actually has tried to get along with mew's friends. it's not exactly his fault the friend group all have messy complicated feelings for each other.

and ever since he actually started talking and getting to know mew, the only times he's implied mew is some kind of conquest for him to win has been when boston has told him that's how he feels and what kind of person he is. all his playboy tendencies that we've been shown have been boston projecting that persona onto him.

originally he might've had douche bag intentions, but i can't help but feel like the fate he's rushing towards is being strung around mew's finger.

i just feel like things very well could've turned out fine if boston wasn't so dead set on ruining them just because he's jealous, maybe jealous because he's not the winner, and maybe jealous because his whore in arms might achieve something boston himself might desire but doesn't dare let himself chase (a mature and genuine relationship). perhaps he feels let down and abandoned, left to be the only predator playboy hunting men for sport that's left.

Scaramona (as in the Harbinger, Scaramouche, and Mona) will always be the blueprint for the bickering, the clash of beliefs and worldviews, but more and more I come to love and appreciate Wandermona.

As the Wanderer, he’s now had to confront his previously held notions, to challenge his sense of self and his place in the world. He is discovering who he can be in this second chance he’s been given.

Mona’s story is still just beginning. Like Scaramouche, she has a very defined sense of self—genius astrologist, set on surpassing her master. I believe that also like Scaramouche, she will be forced to confront her worldviews when they are thrown back in her face (“The stars, the sky… it’s all a gigantic hoax. A lie.”) and have to redefine herself with this new knowledge.

Where Scaramona was about bickering and clashing ideals, I see Wandermona has an opportunity for discovery, reflection, overcoming. Traveling Teyvat together is one of my favorite headcanons (it’s almost a motif for me at this point) for them, and it suits Wandermona even more than Scaramona.

Mona and the Wanderer, trekking across the seven nations, sleeping under the stars, stopping by every bookstore and library to read, arguing about academics and the nature of fate and self-determination.

#scaramona #wandermona #this was all spurred by that gif of wanderer napping on a rock #I’m imagining Mona coming across him while making her way through Sumeru #she doesn’t remember him but he never forgot her or their encounter #he knows he should let her walk away but he finds excuses to accompany her #somehow someway they become travel companions (for a time it’s only temporary he tells himself)#he’s invested in her astrological research and what it can tell him about his own existence #eventually Mona remembers everything #it’s both exactly what he wanted and what he feared #Mona is hurt she is betrayed she is furious she is heartbroken #you lied to me #you deceived me #I didn’t #this is who I am #how was I supposed to tell you?#where do they go from here? they are at the edges of the world and the moon feels closer and more tangible than the rest of Teyvat #it’s just him and her and the scattered pieces of who they are #so slowly and painstakingly they work together to put them together to form a more complete picture
