CN's ferry Huron (of Sarnia) crosses the Detroit River with another load of cars, including what looks to be a Massey Fergusen combine, in August of 1964. Numerous rail ferries crossed the river at this time. The Huron was built for the GT in 1875, eventually being absorbed by the CN in later years. The ferry was still in use by the Detroit-Windsor Barge Line when it sank at its' dock in Windsor in December of 1981. The ferry was refloated and towed across the river to a slip in River Rouge where it sank again. It remains there today, with only the stacks still visible above the water. Jerry Pinkepank Kodachrome

Another Christmas Cab Unit
flickr
Another Christmas Cab Unit by Will Rasmussen Via Flickr: Trainboy made a quick run down to Springfield in order to nail the NS Santa Train running out of Decatur with me. His truck came in handy to navigate the 5+ inches of snow that fell during the overnight and morning hours. Another nice series of runbys were performed by the fine equipment of the Monticello Railway Museum with Wabash F7A 1189 leading the way at Righter (Harristown, IL).

Stepping on Toes
When the fight between you and your rival ends up in an entirely town so it ends up having to be broken up by the local super heroes who are sort-of-your friends-
-/-
Every fic I've found for these two that doesn't somehow involve the rowdyruffs always has Blossom instantly smitten with Dexter.
No- he is a little asshat. She is a prude. They both have HUGE egos and a bad pride streak- especially when it comes to saving the world.
They can be cute and fluffy but dammit where is it where they are snarky and salty as hell with each other first before becoming besties/ eventually crushing.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - Disney TVA isn't a good avenue for story-based shows because it doesn't care about good storytelling. Telling a quality story isn't the network's goal, so they clash with this genre of show way more often than not.
Like, there's a reason why episodic, slice-of-life shows tend to last so long on their channels and also usually exist with much less controversy - when you're working with the smallest snippets of story that executives can demand you drop if they're not "safe" or "consistent with the brand", all without really impacting an over-arching plot, you gain a lot more staying power than a show where leaking a single episode, or "accidentally" airing episodes out of order, or rushing the ending due to sudden cancelation can actually ruin the viewing experience.
When you get a company that offers you a "choice" between a season 3 or a movie, a company that carelessly leaks information, a company that cancels you when you need more screen time to wrap up certain plot points properly, you suffocate your showrunner and your crew when they're just trying to make it all work. Gravity Falls, Ducktales, Amphibia, and The Owl House were ALL victims of this network's shitty practices (Star VS was its own can of worms, that I don't feel escaped these practices but also had other problems that affected it more, especially since it very miraculously got more screen time than any of the other shows mentioned) and their stories suffered for it at various points of the shows' airing.
I have said this - SO MANY TIMES to the Ducktales fandom specifically lol - but when you decide to engage with a story-based DTVA series, you're very, VERY likely going to have to meter your expectations just solely due to it being produced by Disney. Because Disney has now a long history of mistreating and mishandling its story-based shows. Now that The Owl House has ended and people are talking about this again, I want to spread that reminder around, again:
It's okay to criticize these shows and their ability to tell a story properly, but PLEASE try to understand the context and working conditions the crew was under when they were making it, when you're drafting your criticism. A lot, and I mean a LOT, of the problems people complain about the most (and often blame the crew for) are issues that none of them had control over, or were simply doing their best to work around whenever Disney steps in to fuck things up. If you're going to engage with public criticism, or, more worryingly, engage with the crew on social media, I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to understand how the behind-the-scenes of the show operated.
It just genuinely boggles my mind sometimes - we live in an era where people working in the Television Animation Industry have more of a voice than they EVER had, to detail the issues and constraints networks have dealt to them. Social media has allowed so much mistreatment and mishandling of crews and shows to come to light. And yet!!! So many people are given this avenue of understanding!! And they don't!!!!! Listen!!!!!!! And instead they use it to yell at showrunners and crewmembers.
I'm begging y'alls to at least develop some pattern recognition with this godforsaken network. Please do that at least.

Im glad you care about Moxy too this is why I followed you next to the Homestar runner stuff
Oof sorry I answered this so late- I was trying to think of a swag way to reply so once again an ask has just been rotting in the inbox-
But yeah! Dudes a lil messed up looking and I'm pretty sure I'd get annoyed with his voice- BUT!!! If he is one of the first originals of cartoon network then I think he deserves some recognition! Some quality treatment, get that man a gift basket AND THE FLEA TOO!!! (Was he a flea?-)
But sadly I don't think he will anytime soon due to all the lost media he has, it always sucks to know there's more content out there for a thing but not being able to see because well...it's lost. It's like a guy coming up to you and saying "Hey, see that guy over there? He's wearing the most coolest hat you've ever seen, BUT! it's invisible, but I've heard people seen it."
Like MAN! I WANNA SEE THE COOL HAT! BUT BECAUSE ITS INVISIBLE AT THE MOMENT I CANT! AND MAYBE THE ONLY WAY I CAN IS TO FIND A PERSON WHOS HAS A SINGLE POLAROID PICTURE OF THE HAT BUT WONT SHARE IT??? MAAAAAN!!!
...Anyway, hope moxy gets acknowledged or more known so we can find the rest of the media. Also shout out to that one ok ko crossover nexus episode for being the coolest thing ever for cartoon network fans. Look at him...*sniffle...* he's there...in uncanny weird looking glory...

discourse rambling lol i doubt im going to be dropping many hot takes here given my experiences w receiving anon hate for the most tamest of criticisms on this site but im using the tag "disk horse" for anyone who wants to blacklist
i understand that shipping isn’t that serious™ but given hetalia as a source material, i think we need to be more aware about how we frame relationships between characters.
problematic/dark history is unfortunately emblematic to almost all significant bilateral relationships, so that’s something you personally get to reconcile with to an extent — seeing as there’s no workaround with what hetalia fundamentally is.
but can we not use current day pro-imperialism narratives and propaganda as shipping material lol

Not saying that they are good but there is a lot of wuxia based TTRPG i nthe west. One of them was however really cringe because the creators decided they needed to make up a fictional world instead of setting it in china because china is too sexist or something.
Oh yea i can definitely imagine that :P I mean that last one. As if female characters don't exist in wuxia/xianxia 🙄 but yea that's why i specified "players in china", tho ofc if it's done by non-chinese players who are familiar with the genres that's also great
