FUcking Big but #definitely the biggest job i have had so far size and paycheck wise dhglkdhfgl #i wouldn't call it weird exactly but i'm at an interesting place in my career as an artist bc i feel as if i should have found a specialty #by now. and by no means is it a bad thing that i haven't bc i love working on a huge variety of projects and i learn a lot from all of them #but for me it's like #i'm a freelance illustrator. i'm an art teacher. i do public art. i run an online shop. i do comics in my free time. every now and again i #exhibit in physical galleries #i do digital art but i'm also a traditional artist #'mintt why are you like this' i'm insane and i don't realize it until i write out everything i do like. oh. huh. #i don't mind doing any and all of that it's fun and there is an inherent cohesion to my work regardless bc i made it #but a lot of the artists i follow. especially the handful of professional artists i know irl do like. one or two of those things bc that's #their specialty. and idk if i have that career specialty yet. i Certainly have my specialties irt subjects #i think there's something to be said though about me seeking out more local opportunities than anything bc i don't feel like i quite have #the portfolio yet to be really noticed when applying for Big Things out of state and whatnot #at least with my more traditional work digital stuff is different #i am thoroughly rambling now sdhgklhflg

my thought process here was little scugpup pebbies with everything he was before,,, the puppet, the superstructure,, the stars.. because my god if that 'every creature, from the iterators to the slugcats originates from a star in some part' talk didn't strike a chord with me i dont know what did the slugpup pebbles was based mostly on when arti first finds him?? hence expression and why hes so desaturated

this fic is so, so good. not only is the writing awesome (lots of fun details if you look close), but the characterization is delightful, both heartfelt and heart-wrenching. my favorite, FAVORITE scene is, well, near the end of chapter 19 GAAAAHHH /pos

ALSO! GO GO READ THE SEQUEL! (From Rust We Rise) I've only just started it myself but mmmmmmm does not disappoint

Do you have a recent favorite fic?

Ohoh~ What a daring question, yes, I have a few! I am not incredibly sure what you mean by 'recent', so I'll give examples for a few fics I've seen recently that I adore! ~~ For one, "Out of Our Skin" by TwoCakesInACup is amazingly good. The pictures, the images! You can see how much time and effort the author put into this fic, and wow, it has made me feel things! To summarize it ; its a worm-off-their-strings fic following Artificer, Hunter, Moon, and Pebbles, and while it does follow a very similar story line to other off-the-string fics, it puts a very unique spin on things! I'm not one for spoiling things though, so you'll have to read it yourself! "Vortex of Worlds" by the same Anon-user who made Backwards Through The Snow (I believe), is also very good, and very underrated for what it is. It is definitely a little out-there in concept, and I'm pretty sure it has been abandoned, but it is still worth reading just because of how interesting it is. It is one of my biggest inspirations, the fact that the author understands these characters enough to make them work even in such polarizing scenarios is breathtaking. It is basically a superhero fic but with the iterators, taking their consciousnesses and stuffing them into human bodies. Again, very out-there concept-wise, but it is done so very well! I'm also sure most of you have heard of it, but MaxwellDanger's fic, "Five Pebbles gets a hobby" Is also incredible! Its basically an alternate timeline where Five Pebbles' "Bug Maze" Conversation takes place with Sig, rather than Suns. This leads him down a completely different space-oriented path and I absolutely love it. Its a seemingly basic idea with incredible execution! "Leaving Only Rust Behind" by Clubsheartsspades, is too, an impeccable fic! Its very new, but according to the author it is already fully written with tweaks here and there happening behind the scenes. In short, Pebbles finds the solution but refuses ascension- trapping himself within the cycle as a little slugpup! Absolutely adorable. I love slugpup Pebbles. Oh, oh and Artificer. They write Artificer so uniquely, I love it! Their writing is incredible, and I cant wait to see the full fic! There is also the fic, "What do I do with a love that won’t sit still?" Which is seemingly based off of ideas similar to BTTS except rather than Pebbles going back in time, its Moon! I very much so love the way they write Moon, it feels very like her! It is written well, and I believe it will only get better as it goes on, I am so excited to see what it becomes, it truly has potential! ~~ Sorry for rambling on about fics I love, but I felt it right to give them as much adoration as I could. I know first-hand how arduous it can be to write so much of one thing, they deserve credit for that! Please check these fics out if they sound interesting to you, they're very very good!!

Last song listened to: Sunlight by Hozier because I am inevitably eventually always listening to Hozier. But especially because it's my birthday and I'm happy. Not just cuz of it, but because life is good and my friends are amazing and I love them so much.

Currently watching: The Office(US) Finally after eons I decided to actually give it a shot and god damn I get it. I get why people love it, I get it why it is considered basic to have it as a favorite show because it is THAT good. I'm on S5 already and can't nor won't let go.

Currently Reading: Blade Runner ttrpg. It is fascinating how Free League manages to make concise systems, understandable and easy to work with lore but most importantly impeccable editing. Maybe it's because I've been trying to work with The Witcher ttrpg and it's atrocious editing that makes a genuinely entertaining system into an indescribable mess but the ease at which I can read through and understand this handbook is delightful.

Currently obsessed with: The Magnus Protocol. Which may sound obvious but I just can't stop thinking about it and listening to it, thinking about the characters and theorizing and AHHHHHH 🖤❤️

pteranodons!! they've been my favorites since i was a kid so i admit i'm not as up-to-date with the taxonomy and will call them "pterodactyls", but regardless of what i say i mean these guys
