Okay! My first plush restoration/customization :) I started with this one because she was the most worn out of the lot, so I figured even a really minor transformation while I learn the basics would be significant. I removed and repainted the face (and made a lot of mistakes there but I think she still looks cute), and washed, brushed, and restuffed the body. Then I remade new accessories for her because the old ribbons on her collar and tail were really threadbare. Since her face came out much more peachy than the original, I tried to bring some of those darker colors into the design. I also trimmed down the tail fur to make the shape read better, and since her head fur was too thin to pull back into a ponytail, I gave her a feisty little pixie cut instead lmao

#I would have loved to give her toes.... I didn't stuff the feet enough for that and didn't realize that til I'd closed her up already #plush #plushie #custom plush #I made tiny little functional scrunchies for her ears.... I've been staring at ink's FÀQ for a bit. it got me wondering. I've got so many questions about this guy (from serious to silly)

how "fake" are his emotions? Are emotions really "fake" if they're things he really feels. Sure it's temporary, but if he feels it in that moment is it fake? seems to impact his ability to care for others somewhat so it must not be completely"real" . Are his emotions just permanently slightly duller than someone with a soul? Can he even CARE about not caring? How long does it take to wear off? Hours? Days? Weeks? Months?

Do his emotions dull as they wear off? or does he just know when he'll "run out" of emotion intuitively? Does he get a like initial emotion high when he first drinks one? How does he try to balance them? Does he measure it??? like he takes out a scale and does it by ounces or something? Does he drink all of his belt all at once at the same time?? Like he puts all his vials in one hand and just chugs them? Does he drink the entire thing all at once? Or just a bit of a vial?? Leaving a bit of it left for later?

What do they taste like to him? Are they yummy? Do they smell like anything? Just paint probably but what type? Like does it smell more like oil paint, acrylic or watercolor (they all smell different i swear)? Could he theoretically use it like normal paint? Like if someone was feeling silly could they paint with his vials?

More Space Rabbit Morphs!!

Albinism usually expresses itself as hairlessness(which includes whiskers and much of the ears) and underdeveloped and/or weak eyes. This rabbit, however, retained a medium length shag coat from a parent! This is pretty rare, but considering the random toss up of genes rabbits pass down, it's not unheard of to see genes "cancel eachother out".

TRUE Melanism is pretty rare. Instead, most dark rabbits are a sleek dark brown. Because of this, not many individuals express patterns or differing exoskeleton colors. Seems to be the darker the color the more suppressed the patterns!

Mosaic genes (like chimerism), piebaldism, and vitiligo are surprisingly common among space rabbits! This is most likely due to their high birth rate and common reproductive issues. They can even develop similar looking discoloration and age spots as they shed old, strained, or damaged carapaces. These are common in athletes and other such hard physical work. Kind of like metal as hell permanent bruises! The individual pictured has splotches similar to blaschko lines in humans that trace the shapes of the exoskeleton.

when people complain about getting like, a 98% grade on something because it was "so close to perfect" its like. i understand what you're saying on a technical level. but that is a line of thought so far away from my experiences and ways of thinking that i do feel like im from another planet. 100% isnt even a real number to me

#i kinda understand when its something like a multiple choice test or something where there is an objective answer #it might feel like u got so close but just missed one #again still a bit alien to me because my scholarly performance is mysterious and anything over 70 is great to me #but i mean ive had a 98 before once in a math test. i did get exactly 1 bit of 1 question wrong #but i didnt really care that it was one off from perfect i was too busy being happy because that was the highest mark id ever received #and the previous math test i had taken got a 53% . grade 11 was a wild time for me in math class GHJKSHFKds #anyway i kinda see where ur coming from with stuff with right or wrong answers like that #but i sometimes get friends in class complain that they got a 95 or something on an art assignment #because they think they got docked 5 points for one or two little things #but i dunno. thats not really how fine arts departments in university tend to grade things #you dont start at 100 and get docked marks for things you got wrong. i dont think ive ever seen a 100% on something like that #tbh the numbers are a little arbitrary i find. i do prefer to try to get em higher because that helps with grants and stuff #but the numbers dont mean all that much in fine arts or in art history (my two majors) a 75 and a 95 can function the same depending on lik #weighting and context and feedback and whatever. i dunno its a wild world out there #it might just be the perspective of someone who did really goodbad in school. He traces the outline of the domino mask until he reaches the corners. He grabs them and gently peels the mask from his face to reveal those familiar cerulean blue eyes.

I have an appointment finally scheduled to see what’s going on #it feels like it did when I was in middle school/high school which was about the most depressed I’ve ever been in my life #close second to after Clover died but even then I didn’t feel so scattered to the wind #doesn’t help that my health has been getting worse so I can barely keep moving to feel better #I just got some fibro meds that will hopefully help with the pain #but it’s hard to exist rn lol. like I said I will be ok I have lots of people supporting me I just need to focus on recovery #I just need to make sure I’m not falling apart like I’ve been doing bc I truly cannot continue this way #and I’m sick of not being able to function and feeling so angry and guilty abt that bc it hasn’t helped me recover #I need to be able to start the habit of functioning in a long term way that I can sustain #so that I can actually help others the way I want to

i just realized for as much as we see wille and simon’s relationship we never really see it. we see the big milestones like their first kiss, their first time, the fight about pills, etc but we really don’t see them interact outside of that? after their initial meeting when wille introduces himself and the lake scene we mostly see the hidden more intimate parts of their relationship.

we never see them interact during school or during class. granted not much of the show actually takes place during classes but we still see sara and felice have casual conversations, we see vincent and nils playing chess, we even see frederika and stella gossiping with felice when she’s dating august. yet we never see simon and wille chatting between classes. even when they hang out at rosh’s football game they don’t really talk they just cheer for rosh and then wille gets dropped back at hillerska.

a lot of this could be contributed to the “on again off again”/“will they won't they” nature of their relationship since they often aren’t talking because wille has called things off but even before that we don't see them interact much. we don’t see what lead to them sitting together at workies or even how wille got simon’s number (which i have to assume he got from someone else because he introduces himself in his first text).

it’s just interesting to think about how we simultaneously know so much and so little about them as a “couple” (couple used loosely here since their relationship status is never confirmed)

One of the things that I didn't quite get to work into Donnie's big chapter of going to a college with Draxum (because it was a long chapter and I didn't want to bloat it anymore) is that I originally wanted to introduce Poppy's mom there. She's a deaf linguist who studies sign languages and is the reason that Poppy is somewhat familiar with ASL (it's not common in the Hidden City, but it is a language Poppy's mom is familiar with from studying it).

The way it worked out in the fic was that Poppy gave Donnie some translation spells so they could actually talk, but the original plan was to have her mom as part of the conversation too to act as a translator. I hope I can bring her back in the fic at some point because she's a fun oc, and also because since I'm writing Donnie as HOH for this fic I'd like to be able to give him a way to connect to a Deaf community.
