It was exhausting and relentless and cruel.

Turns out when you buy a grown-up camera (SLR) you also need to buy it a grown-up lens cap (UV filter) and a grown-up sun visor (hood) and maybe a grown-up something to make the colors pop (polarizing filter) and also maybe something to make water smooth (neutral density filter) and you can't just get the cheap stuff oh no because expensiveness matters in this case.
I miss when I could just point at stuff with things and shoot. 😂

I think every programming language is stupid and full of syntax "sugar" that isn't even sugar. Random bullshit that violates the established conventions of how the language works without actually making anything simpler or easier. Look, I'm not a coder. But I just learned that JS has a variable declaration thingy
var <variable name> = <value>
that automatically moves the variable declaration to the top of the scope, as opposed to
let <variable name> = <value>
which doesn't. Ok, why have that? Why have that. That's so fucking dumb. Maybe they differ in some other way that actually makes sense, idk, but even if they do why add this additional difference.
Where's what I think. A programing language should have exactly one way to do everything. Maybe a couple if there's a really good reason in terms of convenience/readability. If you do not have a really good reason, only have one. Furthermore, a programming language should make the underlying program tree as transparent as possible. A written program should be, to the greatest extent possible, in complete isomorphism with the program logic. It should have the same order, the same nesting, the same everything. I should be able to see the logic just by glancing at it.
Everything else is stupid.
There are competing needs that matter: technical fidelity (written code clearly represents what is actually happening when a computer executes a program) and mathematical fidelity (written code clearly represents the abstract mathematical structure of a program). I get that these sometimes trade off against each other, and that's fair. It's reasonable to draw that line in different places. But everything else? Stupid, absolutely stupid. Concessions not to nature but to man. Needless frivolity.

fwiw if you want to introduce more variety to how you draw faces I strongly suggest thinking really hard about noses
noses give you so much information about someone! they're usually one of the first things which define how we think of someone's face (after all - they're by far the feature that takes up most of it).
They change as we age - they take up more of our faces and move away from our mouths. babies almost all have round little tips of noses with no definable bridges, while depending on the type of nose an adult has they may get bonier and sharper or softer and flatter with age. nostrils widen, skin creases, eyes drop back from the bridge. I think often people try to age faces by putting wrinkles around an unchanged nose and it throws stuff off.
They're also a really racialised feature. like there is no one Black Nose or East Asian Nose or Desi Nose or White Nose, obviously, there's huge variation within and across ethnic groups, but there's a lot of overlapping trends in nose shape for different ethnicities and it's often a big contributing factor to people drawing characters of colour that kind of look like palette-swapped white people? like there are so many nose shapes that are super common but because they're relatively uncommon for white people, they're just not the noses people often learn to draw as standard.
but also a diversity of noses says so much about a character, the same way that their build or eye shape or face shape does. like. a long sharp narrow nose in a bony face? a round, slightly flat nose on a face full of smile lines? an upturned, softly rounded nose with freckles and no bridge? a long hooked nose with a curved tip? a crooked, broken nose? a bulbous, reddened nose? noses can imply strength, weakness, innocence, experience, childishness, wisdom, suffering, whatever you want to get out of a character design. don't neglect the nose!!!!
and like. obviously depending on how stylised the art is there's going to be information lost, but that's the thing - there's a real upper limit on how much variation you can put in eyes or mouths or face shape in simpler styles without making it overly realistic, but you can go really nuts on nose shapes! even with just one or two lines or one simple shape you can imply so many different noses by changing little things!

and yet really often I look at people who are trying to broaden variety on faces and they mix up everything except the noses, which stay like a circle or a triangle or a line or whatever their standard noise is, and as a result there's still this sameness to all the faces.
bc eyes and mouths and jawlines are all very well but noses are, in my opinion, the most varied part of the face. I can't think of any two people I know who have the same shape of nose except maybe me and my identical twin.
(and I'm not talking big Vs small, or hooked vs snub vs straight vs flat. really look at people's noses in real life cause there are so many variables)

how big is it? how long from the front? how far away from the face does it sit in profile?
does it have a rounded tip? how round? some people's noses have a profile that's basically a triangle point, some people's are basically a round tip with no visible cartilage above it, and everything in between.
What's going on at the bridge? in profile, is there a clear dip in between the brow and the bridge of the nose, or does the brow come straight down to meet it (or, if you have a kind of striking profile like Hangman Adam Page who looks like an early 2000s DreamWorks character, is your profile one line from brow to the top of your nose)? from the front, is there a clearly defined edge to the bridge of your nose or does it curve out? how much of the space between your eye sockets is nose, on a range from 100% to 0%?
What shape is the top of the nose in profile? Is it a straight line from bridge to tip? does it curve down? does it curve up like a ski slope? does it come to a sharp stop and angle out into a round tip?
does it have sharp edges? does it look bony, with a pronounced ridge? or is it all soft lines? Does it meet the cheek at an angle or at a curve?
does the tip come to a sharp point, or to a curve? does it angle up (so you can see the nostrils from the front), or down (so you can only see the line of the nose)?
how big is the base of the nose compared to the bridge? from the front, does it flare wide across the face at the bottom, or is it almost a straight line down? is it broader higher up the nose?
what are the nostrils doing? how big are they? are they round, or slit-shaped? do they sit behind the tip, with the noise all contained in a single pyramid shape, or do they sit to the sides? do they sit along the face, point forward towards the tip, or point up higher than the tip?
how does the nose interact with the other features? does it dominate the face? is it a tiny wee thing? does it sit over a very long upper lip with a pronounced philtrum, or is it almost touching the mouth? How much of the space between the eyes is taken up by the bridge of the nose? do the eyebrows curve towards the nose, or meet them at a hard angle? if they wear glasses, where on the nose do they sit?
colouration - is it all the same colour, or pinker at the tip or over the bridge? are the insides of the nostrils visible, and are they pale or dark pink? does the top of the nose get more sun - is it darker?
surface details - are there creases at the bridge or around the nostrils and cheeks? are they from scowling (vertical) or laughing (horizontal)? does their nose scrunch up when they smile, or flare when they're angry? is there hair? freckles? piercings? scars or breaks?
like the nose, jaw and brow are the structure around which the rest of the face is built. if you get to a place in your art style where you're comfortable playing around with that then you immediately add so much more diversity and life and verisimilitude to your characters!
also noses are just great. like they're so fun to draw and there are so many different gorgeous noses! I'm so into noses that usually the way I find how I want a character to look is to draw the eyes, draw the nose, then redraw the eyes and build the whole face around the nose.
(this advice is coming from the fact that the most common compliment I get on my art is the diversity and believability of characters and I would say that's like 50-60% in the nose/brow)

I had a bit of a meltdown at my OH last night about the fact that services designed for abled people are “convenience-based” - have an app or a text-based service, send you updates - and thus accessible to me on the days I literally can’t talk or think in a straight line due to fatigue and brain fog, or sensory overload means I’m huddled under my bedcovers with the curtains closed and Loops in, but every fucking “accessible” service means a long phone call, planning intensively in advance with no allowance for variable health, and flexibility for them but none for you - ie, “we’ll pick you up at some time between 10am and 1pm, we can’t wait so if you’re not ready immediately you can’t come, and we can’t tell you how long you’ll be on the minibus because we’re picking up 8 other people.”
I can’t do public transport, which is *still* less bad than that, because I have chronic fatigue and if I’m out and up too long, I’ll crash, and if I crash, then whenever I eventually get home and to bed I won’t be able to get up for days. I’ll be crawling to the bathroom like it’s fucking Everest. And yet that’s pretty much the given for any form of “paratransport”.
A huge number of disabled people use services abled folk use for convenience to literally survive. GPS apps. Food delivery. Laundry services. The “convenience-based” approach - ie, abled people have choice, so if it’s shit they won’t use it and it’ll go under - is what makes it actually accessible to us. It means that we can use our limited energy and limited capacity to get a vital thing done with minimal expenditure and thus have some left over for other vital things.
Whereas with disability services the entire ethos is “you’re *so* lucky we funded this; it’s entirely based on abled people’s ideas of what we think you need and “deserve”; you’re disabled so you clearly have nothing else to do with your life other than wait around for us to provide the “service”; if you’re physically disabled you clearly have incredible planning skills and executive function and know precisely what you will be doing for weeks ahead and have an abled carer who also has nothing to do with their time except wait around with you; if you have *any* form of communication, processing, planning or learning disability you clearly have an abled carer who can do all your communication and planning *for* you; these two things *never* cross over, at least if you have any capacity to speak or do anything independently”.
And if you don’t use these “services” - which, btw, are incredibly difficult to access, usually need a referral from a social worker, and are not remotely publicised - then you *clearly* don’t “need” them. The fact that they are utterly impossible to coordinate with, say, going to a vital medical appointment is met with shrugs and “well maybe the hospital can arrange transport for you”. Then that process starts all over again.

Some thoughts.
Okay, Halsin, what the hell?

When I was playing Gale origin, I didn't know what lines to choose so I pushed any friendly dialogue button I saw so it felt okay when Halsin offered me to be his lover. Everything I had to do was to refuse his offer. This time (playing Astarion origin) I was extremely careful and didn't choose a single line that could trigger such a dialogur, even friendship ones. I did not ask him about his past (lovers) or whether he has potential partners, I only talked about helping to save Thaniel, but Halsin still offers me a polyamorous relationship and sex! Hinting that he went to Baldur's Gate with us because of... us, right after a fight with Ketheric. With Gale it felt normal because, again, I didn't know what lines to pick. But with Astarion it feels at least strange.
I mean, why? I didn't cross the line when talking to him this time. When I played Gale origin, I wasn't sure what lines would trigger his proposal, but now I've carefully avoided anything undesirable and yet he still offers me sex! God, I do love this bear, he is the walking embodiment of everything I could love in a man, both his appearance and personality is a masterpiece, except for polyamory, because it is not my cup of tea, not in this case at least, but now it is his behavior that makes me feel disapointed in him. And what infuriates me most is the confidence with which he says I also feel attracted to him, although - again! - I carefully avoided any potentially dangerous lines that could trigger his confession. What's going on with this character? So to be just friendly with him is enough to get these scenes?
Since my Astarion is in a relationship with Gale, I decided to look at his (Gale's ) reaction if he was offered such an open relationship. I decided to try different lines and it really made me smile that Gale’s first thought about adding a third person to the relationship was a child.

Also, as I thought, Gale is monogamous in a relationship and is not ready to share. I like that he speaks openly about it and to some extent even with anger that he does not agree to this, in fact, that’s why I like him.
And it was really painful to choose a line about breaking up, even if it was just to see his reaction. I never want to see that pain on his face again. This only lasts a few moments, but his disappointment in love, in the very concept of relationships, is very palpable.
I think that after such a “betrayal” he wouldn't soon decide to open his heart to someone or would not dare at all. I think that's why I like him so much. And that's why I like their relationship with Astarion. Gale is ready to give his all for someone he loves, and Astarion (at least this is very much in his character after so many years of hardship and suffering) will tightly hold on to what he considers his.
Of course, Gale can be persuaded to have sex with the drow twins (I checked this too), but I consider this a flaw on the part of the developers. You may not agree with me, but I think it isn't in his character.
Because a person who so vehemently argued that two lovers should be dedicated only to each other would hardly agree to such a thing. Same story with Astarion. People say he agrees to have sex with the twins once he's completely free of Cazador, but the narrator's words make it abundantly clear that he's still not into it: "his mind is miles away."
And the fact that Gale has to be persuaded… his first reactions tell a lot. This is clearly not in his character too. I would never believe that a person who kicks the cat out of the bedroom while changing clothes would easily agree to such a thing.
Most likely, the opportunity to persuade him to do something like this is necessary for the variability of the game, no more. In addition, Gale leaves his copy in a room that just watches this makingout, he takes no part in it. People might assume, of course, that he shouldn't/cannot have sex because of the orb, but there was nothing stopping him from sleeping with Astarion before they reached Baldur's Gate. However, it seems strange to me that after this he does not break up with Astarion/Tav/whoever or at least discusses the thing. It’s probably still a flaw on the part of the developers, because Gale doesn’t react to the situation at all. And this despite the fact that he only recently screamed about how he categorically does not accept such things.
Therefore, I believe that in order not to mislead people, the developers need to stick to the character's personality as they were intended. If a character is meant to be monogamous, then why do they need lines that suit polyamorous characters only? I understand that the game is variable, but this is not about the plot, but about the characters, whose personality has already been developed and established.
Just saying.

Dogblr! I’m working through a training issue and would love some different perspectives. My question involves dealing with prey drive, engagement, and premack, I think?
Ok, so, I have a fenced-in yard for the first time ever, and I’ve been trying to start things off on the right track for Acorn. Acorn is a three year old mutt, with a fair chunk of terrier ancestry. There’s is nothing he loves more than searching for and chasing critters. I want him to be able to enjoy the yard, but not to totally disregard me while he’s out there.
Here’s what I’ve been doing so far: We go outside on a leash. I wait for him to offer eye contact before taking the leash off. Then, I reinforce any and all engagement with me. I start off with treat tosses for choosing to check in, and usually after a few minutes I can cue different behaviors and have sustained engagement.
The problem is, the amount of time I have to wait for him to offer me attention is pretty variable. I’d hoped he would start offering engagement sooner but it doesn’t seem to be happening. Tonight I suspect there was increased squirrel activity, and he ran around from tree to tree for about 10 mins, rarely checking in with me. I’d wanted to play fetch with him, which is a favored activity of his, but obviously doesn’t outrank squirrels. After about ten mins, I tried to begin the game, which, in retrospect I should have realized he wasn’t going to go for. He blew me off once, I tried again a few minutes later and he chased the toy twice before losing interest again. At that point I leashed him up, and brought him inside.
I’m trying to put my own frustration aside, but it’s definitely a factor here. We have a similar issue in agility class, the barn where classes are in the winter is a huge issue for us. He does better when we train outside, but he still has a tendency to leave me and run the fence line investigating smells instead of working. I really really want to get to the point where I can let him off leash, train and play with him, and THEN release him to the environment.
So here’s my current thinking— I’m feeling pretty discouraged, so let me know if you have any ideas or if you think I’m on the right track or not— I need to stop allowing him to do the searching for prey behavior until I’ve finished with whatever I’m planning to do. I suppose I’ll keep him on leash or maybe a longline, work engagement until he seems ready to start on whatever the goal of the session is. Start small at first and see if it becomes easier for him to focus on training once he knows he’ll get to run around the yard afterwards.
Ugh, for some reason I’m not liking this plan. I suppose it makes me feel like I have to be the Fun Police, making him eat his vegetables before dessert. But I’m also very tired of feeling like I have to coax him to engage with me every time we’re working around any distractions. I feel like my current protocols work in the short term, but I don’t see any improvement from session to session. Clearly this is an ongoing problem for us, and I hope that being forced to tackle it at home will help address the issue in agility too. Anyway, I would love any advice, insight, pep-talk, commiseration, suggestions for courses or other resources, etc. I just need to stop feeling like I’m banging my head against a wall!

Theory on why we headcanon specific characters as trans more often than others, using the Fizzlebeans as evidence.

Starting by analyzing Floofty, as they are my expertise.
Floofty is a scientist with no help, no funding, and ambitious plans. They come across as cold and uncaring, when in reality much of their shortsightedness comes from caring too much. Not for those closest to them directly, of course. But the greater good, and grumpuskind as a whole.
Their previous line of work suggests that when they had more resources, they spent more time helping individuals. Making prosthetics is a HIGHLY variable process, each individual limb that needs one being EXTREMELY different, even on the same person. Therefore they would need to be attentive towards individuals by necessity, even when making scientific breakthroughs. I don't think they'd have amazing bedside manner but I only bring this up to stress that Floofty is capable and willing to care for others should the situation call for it. However, they probably don't feel like they can afford to care after the events that cost them.... everything.
I assume they got their awesome career position through work during school, proving themself academically in a way that their.... abrasive characteristics wouldn't interfere with. Now that they have nothing, they're trying to get it back the same way they got it, by proving themself through actions.... but who they are and how people perceive them is directly responsible for their lack of help on Snaktooth. Actually, who they are likely made it near impossible to rebuild their reputation when inevitably grumps will think they are either chopping test subjects up to make murder machines or a confidentiality liability. They think their work should speak for itself, and who they are shouldn't matter. (They might even believe that they don't matter. It's already clear that their work is worth more to them than their own life.)
Realizing what they mean to others, who they could be to them when they let go of the big picture importance, and how they can help like they so desperately want to is integral to saving them. Let them forget that they are in fact, a grumpus, the very thing they want to save, and they might as well become what they study. Bugsnax.

Snorpy, however, as I've stated, is pretty much the opposite. Where Floofty rejects themself, Snorpy protects himself.... prepare for a staggeringly less complete analysis thanks to Not Literally Being Snorpy. Snorpies and Snorpy experts in the notes please contribute.
Snorpy is an engineer whose inventions are held in great esteem in Snaxburg, and yet he believes the world is out to get him. (By the world I mean... the grumpinati) The grumpinati is, in fact, not out to get him, and it takes incredible amounts of jumping to conclusions fueled by intense fear for anyone to shrink their world that small.
It's implied by his previous work that he was previously much more capable of... interacting with the public? being seen? than he is now. Like I mentioned, constructing prosthetics requires a lot of individual time and care, and a lot of interacting with many different grumpuses. But now? He is driven by fear. I can't even blame him, he's clearly deeply traumatized. How would you feel if your life's work was taken and warped for something you found cruel and evil all while you still depended on them for your livelihood? And you already probably had some sort of anxiety disorder?
Moving on, he is actually able to work perfectly fine. In fact, nearly every grumpus is seen using something he invented at least once? Despite inventions like The Knife Shot and flammable tripwire moments he's well liked by the town and everyone trusts his work to... work. But he's so absorbed by his own perceptions that it's impossible for him to take praise or even socialize without suspicion.
Even the relationship he holds most dear, and integral to what we call "Snorpy" is up in the air for him. I can only imagine he didn't ask for clarification or confess to his romantic feelings towards Chandlo out of fear. Fear of what exactly I can't say, as it's probably every possible factor that that course of action would change.
And... well. His main problem is never solved. Shelda is right, he needs therapy. Extensive therapy. But... he still improves. Part of why he does all of this is to protect Chandlo, and hide all of this from him... but after fighting Daddy Cakelegs it becomes a lot more clear to Snorpy that Chandlo is trying to protect him and knows a lot more than he gives him credit for. He's a lot closer to and more equal to Snorpy. Snorpy doesn't have to spend and sacrifice every fiber of his being to the bugsnax to protect who he loves.
That being said, who he is has nothing to do with his character arc. He's Snorpy, he's a nerd, he is an engineer. None of this is brought into question. Floofty's very status of "grumpus" is called into question through their experiments. (on an esoteric level. kinda. bugsnax are weird.)
What they share is their interactions with other grumpuses and how important actually letting themselves connect with others is... but that's something Everyone shares at least a little.
How does this relate to transgender headcanons? Floofty's arc features their identity very heavily, and calling the identity of the self into question is extremely transgender. Sometimes the definition of transgender. At the very least, a part of the process. (everyone is different)
That's why I think Shelda, Chandlo, and Wiggle are so popular for trans headcanons despite not necessarily doing anything outside their gender's norms. Their arcs heavily have to do with who they are and how their actions reflect that. Gramble and Triffany have a little bit of this but I can't rule out their gender non-comformity as the reason.
Of course, everyone is transgender to at least one person in the fandom because there's nothing proving anyone is cis and this fandom is very very queer.

Reactions to Cale Snow's Chapter 227
TL;DR - Cale's group thought that their enemies were weak. Cale is shocked that he kept using "our" DHB to differentiate him from the Aipotu dhb/mbd. One mbd thought of suicide to inform the central temple of their situation, but got thwarted by Bailey and Clopeh. Cale insists he knew nothing about Archduke Snow.
Weak Enemies Cale's group were over-prepared, so they were surprised to find that their enemies were... weak. Cale even compared the mbd to 'our' dhb, and was surprised that he used 'our' to differentiate DHB from the Aipotu dragon half bloods/mixed blood dragons.
See? Even Cale is confused because the Korean words for dhb and mbd are the same. 😂 I used mbd to differentiate if from DHB, but Cale added the word 'our' to DHB to differentiate him from the Aipotu dhb.
Runaway So mbd had this last resort option called 'runaway.' A mixed blood dragon had a "jewel" embedded in their right chest, which when crushed/destroyed, would give them a huge boost in power, but eventually lead to their deaths.
This jewel upon crushed would send a signal to the central temple, informing the temple that the mbd had died. One of the mbd planned to induce a runaway in order to inform the temple of what happened here.
Fortunately, Bailey recognized their plan and warned Cale's group, so Clopeh immediately cut off the wrist of that mbd. Of course, Clopeh-nim did all that with a saintly smile, saying "Variables should not exist in His path." Yeah... we all know who the "He" Clopeh was talking about. 🤣🤣🤣
You Know Nothing? Our chapter title finally makes an appearance! Of course, it's a GoT reference, so it's only fitting that our Cale Snow is the one who says the iconic line. 😂
Bailey: Um, you know nothing? Cale: Yes. I know nothing. Archduke Snow. I have neither heard of such family nor know anything about them. Absolutely none. That family has no connection to me. It's as irrelevant as a speck of dust. Bailey: ...I see. Bailey: (A strong denial means a positive answer. He's clearly related to Archduke Snow!)
Ending Remarks So many fun parts today, from tsundere Rasheel, crazy Caleism believer Clopeh, to Cale being misunderstood for the nth time. 😂 Next chapter will be Cale's conversation with Minister Bailey, so perhaps we'll get an info dump again? DHB's lack of a name gets mentioned by Cale again, so I'm also looking forward to it.

Sometimes I remember how perfect the ending of Crooked Kingdom was for Kanej
Kaz clearly planned for this moment, even with all the moving variables that could have gone wrong, wanting to give Inej what he could because he wanted it for her. No doubt the time spent after the Ice Court had only solidified that he needed to take the risk to reach out, it even gave him time to figure it all out before he put it all on the line.
It was a perfectly Kaz way of displaying his affection. She had always been a support for him, it was time to do the same for her. It didn't matter that it would only facilitate her departure, because that was already inevitable, so he might as well be part of her start of it.
So, he crafted a meticulous scenario to give him the chance to breach the subject of the future between them which had been looming in the air ever since they had returned to Ketterdam: A ship and a crew to support her new path. Her parents to finally reunite her with what had long been lost. A berth that awaited her whether she decided to use it or not. And his gloveless hands to signify that he wouldn't erase all that had happened between them. He knew he had to lay it all on the line. No barriers, gloves off. She told him as much. He wanted to do as much too.
The fact that at the very same time he is planning all this, Inej was readying herself to let it end as a memory because she wasn't willing to accept all the barriers again after they had broken so many down. LIke she had said before, she wouldn't accept a love at arm's length from him. They were both preparing a good bye, but of different kinds. She was expecting a farewell and a severed tie, he was hoping for good bye with a promise to return if she was willing.
And it all cumulates to such a beautiful moment at the end. Inej approaching with a mindset that Kaz would try to make it business as usual, only to be caught off-guard with his unwillingness to and his gloveless hands that further solidified just that. He opens up instead, let's her know what he wants--- her return, someday. She let's him know what she wants, his help in her fight.
It's such an honest conversation too. Kaz telling her that he isn't good, and Inej telling him that she wasn't asking him to be anything other than what he is. She knew better than to try and change him, she didn't want to change him either, she just wanted to be let in and to let him in in return. She wanted them to be able to help each other and to break barriers caused by trauma along the way.

I'm sorry, of course, you've probably been asked similar questions more than once, but... Could you tell the height (even approximate based on the facts) of many famous Necrons? Yes, I have already found a similar post, but with two specific ones, from you, but I'm afraid I won't be able to find it right away... I hope it won't bother you.. ;^;
Alright let's go! I have apparently become an expert on one thing and that is apparently the relative heights of fictional robots from space.
First, some notes on methodology. I am going mostly based off of models, which means I cannot give precise answers about characters who don't have updated models as the old resin ones aren't in the correct scale. Also some characters don't have models so...vibes I guess.
I have also included a Standard Reference Marine (SRM) for scale. Primaris marines are about 8 ft tall give or take (they can apparently get up to 10 ft but my guess is that's mostly named characters not my generic lil dude here).
A few rules of thumb
Necrons are taller than humans, including marines
Crypteks are taller than lords, although this is variable as crypteks are usually adept at manipulating living metal which lets them adjust their forms
Vibes reign supreme
So with all that in mind here is my line up

Yes I beefed up Imotekh's base, but that puts him about on the same level as Orikan with his floating. It evens out.

As you can see, Szarekh is taller than Imotekh, so put him between Imotekh and Szeras in the lineup.
Now with these references we can roughly estimate the heights of the named necrons if we assume that Trazyn, Anrakyr, Oltyx, and Zahndrekh are all around the height of an overlord (probably taller as they have Named Character Privilege). Yenekh is specifically described by Oltyx as Tall so he's probably taller. Same with Zultanekh. Obyron should be based on a lychguard but no he's a big lad because I say so, vibes reign supreme.

Asa was beginning to think something was different about you, something separating you from the other hoards of hopeless fodder projects in the basement. You’ve quickly become Asa’s favourite for reasons he can’t really place.
You tend to keep to yourself most of the time whether this is out of fear or general boredom he has no idea, only jumping in when a subject you care about is raised. Once you start it’s hard to get you to stop, not that Asa minds, it can get lonely in this dilapidated hotel in the middle of butt fuck nowhere, even for antisocial people like himself. So it’s nice to keep someone around to fill the silence.
He’s realised by now the younger man in his possession seems to light up when certain subjects are spoken about, it’s happened so many times in the same kind of environment that he’s been trying to dwindle down the variables to pin the behaviour down. Asa loves to dissect people hypothetically and physically so this is just the icing on the top for him.

Usually a walk around the perimeter of the hotel suffices a few times a week, this can be on or off lead, depending on how well you’ve been behaved. Unharnessed time is reserved for good boys who know where they belong.
If you’ve been particularly well behaved recently or seem like you could use a pick me up then Asa will walk you down to the garden-esque area out the back of the hotel. there isn’t anything specifically special about this area, overrun with weeds and over grown plants that are hard to see through, just as broken down as the rest of the building, however the perimeter is lined with barb wire. Just your typical cheap barbed wire to keep pets in and keep pests out.
To you it was more than that, you could wonder the edge of the garden for hours at a time, running your hands along the chainlink and gazing at the twisted patterns.
Sometimes he would ask you about, listening along contently as you ramble about barber wire, hopping from subject to subject as they enter your mind. This is how Asa loves to see you, carefree and expressing your passions out on the makeshift patio, it wasn’t a lot but it keeps you happy. Asa would do anything to keep his boy happy.

Although all these days I struggled to understand the concept of LSK or if Kaylor really are together still etc, Hudson Valley really sealed the deal for me. For reasons best known to Kaylor themselves, they definitely have chosen to live their life the way they do. Aaron posting Taylor in Hudson Valley same time as Karlie raised enough eyebrows for their PR teams to kick in and start diverting everyone's attention to Travlor instead. Cue the dinner, tonight's concert, extra PDA, karma line change etc. I see the reoccurring patterns clearly now.
I can't help but feel sad though that this is how they choose to live and of course no pressure for them to pick otherwise but I do hope someday they will decide to drop this facade and openly be together. Love your work btw and it's from your posts that I really started to believe in LSK :)
thank you for this message! and yeah, i think if you stick around and look at the big picture it makes a lot of sense and then things like what you mention above just kind of stick out a little more when they happen. and they happen from time to time.
i understand what you mean by feeling sad, though if you will allow me to go on a tangent,
i think i would be inclined to feel more sad for their situation if they were just everyday women in love with each other but unable to express it solely because of social inequality related to sexuality. but when i think of their entire situation, i know there are more factors involved than just the particularity of who they love. being a celebrity, for example, puts an additional variable into their story that makes the idea of them coming out more complicated and potentially dangerous, and thus potentially less beneficial to them on a personal level. coming out won’t necessarily make things automatically better, because the eyes of the world are on them and a lot of them are hostile. and that’s an anxiety we might not understand. so i try to think about it like that, and place the goal not at a universal ideal but more at a local ideal, the goal of their love persisting and persevering against the odds. i still find a lot of meaningfulness there.
i think we might assume they must be unhappy in their situation, and i’m not saying they can’t be, but i think assuming they are unfulfilled creates a perception that these things they do are painful for them when it might not be the case. i say this because i feel that over the years they’ve been able to sort out and be honest about what they want and what they don’t want, and how to go about things in a way that doesn’t invite miscommunication. looking at taylor’s discography i think there were absolutely years and instances where they weren’t communicating their best, and that both got hurt for different reasons. but i get the strong sense from a growing collection of songs that they’ve put in the work to be on the same page and have found something that works for them.
i don’t want to dismiss anybody that sees them do things and is hurt by it. she basically invented the book on parasocial engineering and i still have my feelings about miss americana and how that clearly set people with expectations. but i think taylor was pretty clear with midnights that she’s doing her thing rn and shining bright. and that she doesn’t want people to mistaken her as a guiding light.
so i think at some point it’s up to each of us as individuals to assess what it is that we get out of it and if it’s worth the time for us or if there are better places to invest our time. i just think that’s going to be different for each person and that’s okay!

The Art of Miscommunication: Ineffable Edition
The more I watch S2 (over and over again like a complete maniac), it really becomes so obvious that ever since Armagedidn't happened, Crowley and Aziraphale just ... haven't been talking to each other. At least not properly. They may have been talking at each other or past each other but clearly, both of them have things they feel and want that they just keep failing to communicate properly.

Take this scene, for example. It's one of the very first scenes we see of them together in S2. And it shows us one thing very clearly: They're not listening to each other. Not even in the slightest.
I can't help but feel like before this scene, there have been many other unspoken disagreements between them, along similar lines. Disagreements about how exactly they should carve their existences out for themselves. There seem to be so many things they're just not communicating to each other, it's no wonder they both seem so on edge and charged with unspoken subtext during their little argument.
We know that Crowley hasn't even told Aziraphale that he's been living in the fucking Bentley for four years now. Or why that even is the case. He also hasn't told him just how awful it was how Gabriel treated him when Heaven cast Aziraphale into hellfire. At the same time, Aziraphale seems to be struggling a lot with not having anyone to report back to about the good things he's doing. And instead of talking about that to Crowley, he just "uses" him as a substitute for Heaven. Not that Crowley would mind that much, obviously, but still: Both of them just keep tiptoeing around what is actually bothering them and instead say and do things that simply end up throwing the other one off because they can't understand the intentions and reasons behind the other's choices.
"Exactly." – "Exactly."
"My car." – "Our car."
"We're in danger." – "We're safe."
"You don't understand what I'm offering you." – "I understand a lot better than you do"
"Run away together." – "Stay and fix it together."
I waffled on about how each of them have settled into their "new", post-(not)-End-of--the-World lives in this reblog, but I really think it was very clearly set up for the entire season, that all of their non-existent communication was gonna end up sabotaging their happily ever after in the end. Of course, it probably would have gone differently if a certain, Metatron-y variable hadn't intercepted at the very end.
But still: I think the main thing Crowley and Aziraphale will have to learn (in S3) is that, just like Maggie told us, "talking" doesn't equal "talking to eachother". And that in order to carve out a mutual existence together, you have to be honest and open about what you want and feel.

idw1 op calls prowl his friend a lot in exrid and phase two in general, but it feels like something of a holdover from autocracy and the like and the general attempt to bring this op around to being more like the g1 op, The Friendly Leader. do you think in this particular case he really thinks of prowl as his friend? and does prowl consider op a friend also?
I think OP wants it to be true. I'm not sure they have ever actually been friends, but the feeling I consistently get from Barber's take on OP is that he is holding onto an imagined idea of relationships with certain people in his inner circle that just aren't really... accurate.
I do think it's important to point out that, for 99% of the war, most people had very little idea QUITE how much shit Prowl was pulling, likely including OP. People like Impactor or maaaybe Chromedome aside, Prowl's coverups were overwhelmingly succesful when it came to doing shady shit. His veneer cracks during exRiD, not before! And OP, who has a strong need to believe the Autobots have won the war by broadly just, defensible means- that they are still The Good Guys- has an emotional predisposition to tell himself any hint Prowl isn't the guy OP pretends he is should be... quietly dismissed as paranoid. I think.
But even back in pre-war flashbacks, Prowl overwhelmingly approaches OP not as a friend to work together with but a variable to work around, manage, and try to direct. Some of this, earlier on, is clearly different to the moral downswing Prowl undergoes over time; at one point in the OP flashbacks, Prowl is managing him by yelling at him to stop beating up a guy, more in line with his implied approach of 'managing' noted asshole tyrant Sentinel than anything. (Man, the OP ongoing gets so much harsher about pre-war Orion than like, the material Roberts did in MTMTE. It's SUCH a contrast lmaoooo.)
Then later, the gradual reversal; Prowl is managing Optimus by keeping him unaware of all the heinous shit Prowl pulls behind his back in the firm belief this is somehow 'necessary' and 'for the greater good', but the overall core dynamic remains. It's not a relationship with sincerity at its core.
Optimus wants Prowl to be his old friend, I think. Maybe there's even some part of Prowl who likes that illusion a little, even. But no, my personal read is that at least when looking through the lens of exRiD phase two stuff, they were never actually friends. (My opinion on MTMTE's take on both characters prewar is... complicated, and probably a whole other post, haha.)
