The meowstic slowly walks into the cafe, nose up repeatedly sniffing the air until he came to a complete stop in the middle of the room. Upon opening his eyes and seeing the delicacies before him he couldn't help but drool as he slowly made his way to the glass

These look so good....so hungry...but.....no money

Okko's face fell to a saddened one as he continued to look at the numerous pastries and desserts he currently couldn't afford

"No money hm..."

"Alright, just this once, you can have anything you want. It's on the house. Would you like some Shaymin Shortcake? Or a Sylveon Custard Slice?"

A chime plays as you open the door, drawing the attention of the attendant standing closest to you. The blue Shaymin looks you up and down through his glasses, very obviously judging your current fashion choices. After a moment, he returns his gaze to your face.

“Scarves, over there. Rosemary will take care of you there.”

A pink Shaymin with a curly hedge waves at you enthusiastically from the section full of scarves. It seems she’s eager to chat about anything and everything, especially scarves.

“Jewelry and other accessories, over there. Best to consult with ShayingStar quickly before their partner gets in and eats all the items again.”

The sparkly sky Shaymin seems to pay you no heed as they admire their own reflection, absolutely covered in all sorts of jewelry. It would appear they’re more interested in wearing their products than selling them.

“Hats, over there. That handsome young gentleshay is Vetle. They’re taken, but available to consult with all your headwear needs.”

The lighter blue Shaymin gives a lazy wave from their station. They let out a yawn and wink at the attendant, who blushes a bit in response. They exchange quick smiles before the attendant returns his attention to you.

“And my name is Chicory. I’m the owner. Anything else fashion wise, you come to me.” He gives you another once over before offering a somewhat judgmental smile. “You need our help, darling, so don’t be afraid to ask for it.”

He turns to walk off to his station before turning back and saying, “Oh and of course…”

(@asktheoger) “Oh, YOOOOOHOOOOOO!” The Pecharunt, Hiroshi, waves their arms in the air, trying to get someone’s attention. “I could use some assistance~” suddenly, they pick up a huge rack of clothing, with strength that seems it shouldn’t be possible for someone of their size, and throw it across the room before running away. “CLEANUP ON ISLE FOUR HAHAHA!!!”

"Ugh, finally, someone comes to consult my tal-" Chicory stops as Hiroshi launches the rack of clothes across the room and scampers away. "-ent..." He lets out a long sigh before gesturing to Rosemary. "Clean that up, would you? Make sure to burn all the offending articles as well. I didn't see anything worth salvaging before they threw it."

"Yes sir!" Rosemary said before scampering down the aisles to pick up the clothes, admiring the shades of purple that Hiroshi's wardrobe seemed to house.

A Runway? I thought Shaymin can only fly in their sky form? Seems a bit of a waste to have a full runway for just some hedgehogs 😆

Chicory lets out a loud sigh. "Fashion runway, darling, not airport runway. If you're looking for one of those you should consult with ShayingStar's cousin. She oversees all the portals here in Jiemi City. They have plenty of those kinds of runways in her jurisdiction."

He looks you over a bit before musing. "Hm... I think a scarf could do you some good. We could recently accentuate your cheeks if you get a red one."

Chicory raises an eyebrow at you and scoffs a little. "A Shaymin Cafe? What a ridiculous notion. Eight-inch tall hedgehogs can't manage a dining establishment."

He waves his paw a bit. "This is Shaymin Runway. We've been here for years. I've never heard of this supposed cafe you speak of. Now, are you going to ask for some fashion assistance or not?"

The results are in! Here's our top three winners of which hedgehog is the best hedgehog!

Pumpkin had the early lead and while ShayingStar was within two votes of her at one point, ultimately Pumpkin was able to pull ahead and secure her victory.

Meanwhile, Chicory had a tough fight for third place, with both Scabiosa and Rosemary giving him a run for his money even right up until the end!

I wasn't able to do a proper anniversary piece last year due to my health at the time, so I made sure to do one this year!

Three years ago today, the Shaymin Café opened its doors and I couldn't be happier for it! All the friends and great memories I've made over these last few years have been amazing and even if this blog never reaches a proper conclusion, I hope you guys enjoy meeting and interacting with my little shaymin crew as much as I do y'all!

The Shaymin Endgame

Rosemary stepped through the Ultra Wormhole and onto the battlefield where Nightmare was currently enduring an onslaught of attacks from various other allies of Trav. She glanced over her shoulder, ensuring that the other café staff had followed. Despite having never met Traveller personally, every member of the cast had wanted to come along on this mission to protect one of their most valuable customers. “Y’all ready?” ShayingStar asked, the space Shaymin floating above the others in their Sky Forme. Rosemary looked over at the others, and upon receiving five nods in return, she turned back to ShayingStar. “Yes, we’re ready.” Taking a few more steps forward, Rosemary puffed up as best she could and yelled in her loudest voice, “Delivery from the Shaymin Café! And I hope you don’t mind, but we brought a few guests to help with the takeout.” “Hell yeah!” ShayingStar shouted excitedly. Zooming through the air, the space Shaymin opened another Ultra Wormhole and two Dimensional Holes. Out of the first Dimensional Hole came another Sky Forme Shaymin. Dressed in a formal military uniform with a sword strapped at her hip, he turned to Rosemary and bowed. “Oakley Bellerose, at your service.” Out of the second Dimensional Hole came a pair of Land Shaymin, bright yellow bandannas tied around their necks. The smaller of the two faltered a bit at the sight of Nightmare, shivers running through their body. “That’s what we’re up against? It looks like it could eat us in one gulp!” they said. The larger one laughed and pat his buddy on the back. “I think we’d make a horrible snack, Avin. Now come on, let’s do Sky Peak proud!” he shouted. “R-Right,” Avin responded. Turning to Rosemary, they saluted and said, “Avin and Kaji of Team Sunfluff, responding to your assistance request!” Finally, through the Ultra Wormhole came a small Land Shaymin with a Dragonite’s skull over his face. Upon seeing Nightmare, he chuckled. “Good thing Parnakshi isn’t here to see this. She might’ve fainted at the sight of this creature.” Turning to Rosemary, the Shaymin tipped their skull. “Guildmaster Snapdragon of the Rose Kingdom answering ShayingStar’s call to action.” Rosemary tipped her hat back before surveying the group of ten other Shaymin. “Thank you all for coming. I’m sure ShayingStar briefed you all on the plan, so I won’t waste more of your time. It’s time to show the true power of what the Mythical Pokémon and nature deities known as Shaymin can really do. Suck up as much miasma as you can, then on my mark, we’ll release! Hopefully the attack will not only damage the beast but also help purify the air for those that are struggling to breathe.” Spinning back around her heels, “Ready?” “Ready!” came a chorus of voices. “Then let’s go!” The group of eleven Shaymin began to absorb the thick purple miasma in the air, drawing the substance into their bodies to begin the purification process. Their normally colorful hedges and manes quickly turned purple as the miasma swirled through the air and directly into each of the small hedgehogs. After a few moments, Rosemary opened her eyes and yelled, “NOW! Legendary Technique: Seed Flare!” At the pink Shaymin’s command, eleven small bombs detonated at once as the large amount of purified miasma was launched in the direction of Nightmare. Having given everything they had, the Shaymin all collapsed, hoping that their contribution had been enough to help protect Traveller.

For those unaware, today is Shaymin Café's 1 year anniversary! On this day 2020, the café officially opened its doors for business! And what a year it has been.

I wanted to do something much more elaborate but with my health in the state it is in, that wasn't possible, so please enjoy this little doodle of all the shays that have appeared thus far.

I can't thank you all enough for sticking around on our little adventures, slice of life and otherwise, and I hope to get back to updating soon.
