He carefully places a slice of Shaymin Shortcake on a tray along with a cup of water, before balancing it on his hedge and walking it out to Gen. "One slice of Shaymin Shortcake and glass of water! Thanks again for visiting us today."

Chicory hops down from the counter and heads over to the shelf where the muffins are displayed. He opens it and pulls out a fresh Hometown Muffin, gently placing it into a to-go back for Okko. He hops back up to the counter and holds the bag out to Okko.

"Here you are! Enjoy!"

The meowstic slowly walks into the cafe, nose up repeatedly sniffing the air until he came to a complete stop in the middle of the room. Upon opening his eyes and seeing the delicacies before him he couldn't help but drool as he slowly made his way to the glass

These look so good....so hungry...but.....no money

Okko's face fell to a saddened one as he continued to look at the numerous pastries and desserts he currently couldn't afford

"No money hm..."

"Alright, just this once, you can have anything you want. It's on the house. Would you like some Shaymin Shortcake? Or a Sylveon Custard Slice?"

"Oh my, that was quite the toss," Chicory says, paw held over his eyes as he squints off into the distance. "Considering that substitute is heavier than I am, that's quite a feat of strength, though not by much."

The shaymin finishes cleaning his glasses and replaces them on his face as he smirks at the Pecharunt. "Nice try, passé deity. Better luck next time." The winds pick up in speed once more and Chicory vanishes within the cover of a flurry of leaves.

(shaymincafe shayminrunway) Chicory scrunches up his nose a little and scoffs. "Sweetie? Eth, hard pass." He eyes the stranger up and down slowly, giving them a most judgemental look before clicking his tongue in displeasure. "Have you considered wearing less..." he gestures to all of the stranger's body, "that? It's so outdated. Like easily 672 seasons ago, give or take. And don't get me started on that choice of color. Could you have picked a more unpleasant shade of purple? Your whole ensemble here is just toxic to the eyes, darling."

"Unpleasant shade of purple?!? What the f*ck do you mean, there's no bad shades of purple!!!" Hiroshi growls, picking Chicory up by the scruff of his hedge. "At least I'm not a four-eyed sentient bush!" He taps the Shaymin's glasses with a finger and drags it around, smearing the lenses.

"And....well," Hiroshi smiles. "I don't think it's exactly wise for someone like YOU to insult a GOD; especially when you're the exact right shape and size for throwing and punting."

"Ugh, finally, someone comes to consult my tal-" Chicory stops as Hiroshi launches the rack of clothes across the room and scampers away. "-ent..." He lets out a long sigh before gesturing to Rosemary. "Clean that up, would you? Make sure to burn all the offending articles as well. I didn't see anything worth salvaging before they threw it."

"Yes sir!" Rosemary said before scampering down the aisles to pick up the clothes, admiring the shades of purple that Hiroshi's wardrobe seemed to house.

Chicory lets out a loud sigh. "Fashion runway, darling, not airport runway. If you're looking for one of those you should consult with ShayingStar's cousin. She oversees all the portals here in Jiemi City. They have plenty of those kinds of runways in her jurisdiction."

He looks you over a bit before musing. "Hm... I think a scarf could do you some good. We could recently accentuate your cheeks if you get a red one."

Munday ask: AU idea - The whole Cafe crew are instead part of a General Clothing shop. What would each of their roles be? Would any of them have different personalities? What would their speciality be? (Like instead of being good at deserts, it would hats. That kinda thing)

I was so in love with this idea I spent several hours today brainstorming this and doodling these. Hope you like them!!

Base description now here as well:

Chicory- He's the boss of "Shaymin Runway". He's a more serious and closed off personality, notably being fairly judgemental of others, but still rather affectionate with Vetle. He's the head stylist, but has a specialty in shoes.

Rosemary- She's a much more loud and free personality. Specializing in scarves, you will not leave the store without at least three if she has her way. She's also a bit of a gossip and goes through boyfriends like she's sampling coffees. When asked why, she claims it's because she's waiting on her "knight in shining armor".

Vetle- A member of the staff brought on by their boyfriend, Vetle specializes in hats. He's a lot more relaxed and has a warmer personality to offset Chicory's more prickly disposition. She enjoys giving compliments and is very patient, willing to spend way more time than she should with a customer in order to find the right outfit for them.

ShayingStar- The final member of the clothing store's staff, ShayingStar oversees the jewelry table and specializes in accessories. They have to keep their demiboyfriend from eating the merchandise whenever he visits. They are almost always in their Sky Forme and wear enough bling to blind a person. Unlike the others, Shaying's personality is pretty much the exact same as it is in Shaymin Café.

Pumpkin- A frequent customer of the clothing store, Pumpkin is a popular cosplayer who frequents conventions and the likes. She's good friends with Rosemary, as they are still childhood friends in this universe. She's also still dating Shiso, albeit they're not as close as they are in Shaymin Café. The main notable difference though is that because Pumpkin never enters the food service industry, she never endures trauma related to her Sky Forme, thus allowing her to be confident, comfortable, and even develop a preference for it.

Shiso- Effectively swapping places with ShayingStar, because her cousin doesn't oversee the Jiemi City Portal Nexus in this universe, the job has fallen to Shiso, as she is the next most qualified individual to run it. She's serious, stressed out, and fairly strict, even coming across as snippy sometimes. She hates her job, as she's the manager that karens from across the multiverse come to see anytime they don't get their way. But she still loves Pumpkin, and when she can get away, she likes to cosplay with her. She barely knows anyone in the Shaymin Runway staff aside from her cousin.

Chicory raises an eyebrow at you and scoffs a little. "A Shaymin Cafe? What a ridiculous notion. Eight-inch tall hedgehogs can't manage a dining establishment."

He waves his paw a bit. "This is Shaymin Runway. We've been here for years. I've never heard of this supposed cafe you speak of. Now, are you going to ask for some fashion assistance or not?"

A chime plays as you open the door, drawing the attention of the attendant standing closest to you. The blue Shaymin looks you up and down through his glasses, very obviously judging your current fashion choices. After a moment, he returns his gaze to your face.

“Scarves, over there. Rosemary will take care of you there.”

A pink Shaymin with a curly hedge waves at you enthusiastically from the section full of scarves. It seems she’s eager to chat about anything and everything, especially scarves.

“Jewelry and other accessories, over there. Best to consult with ShayingStar quickly before their partner gets in and eats all the items again.”

The sparkly sky Shaymin seems to pay you no heed as they admire their own reflection, absolutely covered in all sorts of jewelry. It would appear they’re more interested in wearing their products than selling them.

“Hats, over there. That handsome young gentleshay is Vetle. They’re taken, but available to consult with all your headwear needs.”

The lighter blue Shaymin gives a lazy wave from their station. They let out a yawn and wink at the attendant, who blushes a bit in response. They exchange quick smiles before the attendant returns his attention to you.

“And my name is Chicory. I’m the owner. Anything else fashion wise, you come to me.” He gives you another once over before offering a somewhat judgmental smile. “You need our help, darling, so don’t be afraid to ask for it.”

He turns to walk off to his station before turning back and saying, “Oh and of course…”
